171 Miami Falcons! President Ron DeSantis!

Episode Summary
Episode 171 of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast opens with the usual Mike and Mike goofing — a Case Elegance Octodor humidor read, a prank "hotline" call from a Ron DeSantis impersonator announcing a 2024 run, and a long tangent on the Justin Bieber roast, the new Mortal Kombat movie, and a wild UFC 261 pay-per-view (Chris Weidman snapping his leg against Uriah Hall, Kamaru Usman knocking out Jorge Masvidal, and Rose Namajunas front-kicking Zhang Weili for the strawweight title).
The meat of the show is the industry news segment. RoMa Craft Tobac opened Weasel Fest 2021 ticket sales for its May 29 Austin event and began shipping the El Catador de los Petit Gordos sampler, which includes Intemperance BA XXI, Intemperance EC XVIII, Whiskey Rebellion 1794, CroMagnon, Aquitaine and a Neanderthal C3; standard tickets run $275 with VIP at $475. The hosts also break down a new U.S. Senate bill from Dick Durbin seeking a massive federal tax hike on premium cigars, walking through the proposed move to a weight-based system and the real per-cigar cost on a robusto, toro and 7x70 — plus the knock-on effect in states with uncapped wholesale tobacco taxes.
Other news: Forged Cigar Company ships the Diesel Crucible, the final release in the Elixir Trilogy alongside Hair of the Dog and Delirium, a 6x52 Ecuadorian Habano-wrapped toro made at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez; Arturo Fuente adds three new vitolas to its Rare Pink breast cancer charity line; J.C. Newman adds The American President as a Tampa factory exclusive; Tobacco Trading Company announces two new Milk & Honey releases and The Marshall; and Tropical Tobacco (Aganorsa Leaf) sues Mombacho Cigars over the Mombacho trademark in Florida federal court, a dispute the hosts trace back to the 2016 USPTO cancellation petition. A Florida bill to allow local beach smoking bans failed to advance, which the hosts cheer.
The episode closes with a very Florida news story about Miami Beach hiring a master falconer to chase off aggressive boat-tailed grackles on Arthur Godfrey Road, an update on Keanu's family benefit spaghetti dinner and GoFundMe, the listener-of-the-week YouTube gift card drawing, and a Patreon plug for their upcoming review of the new Dominican Ponce cigar.

Are we going to do that right now? We're going to have no, no, no, we'll do it. We'll do the winner. We don't want to do it right now.
We want them to get the content. There were 104 views last week on the video. I believe it was just like that. The security footage from the cameras.
You think so? Yes, because a lot of people said I was watching the show or listening to the show and driving in the car, I immediately went home, had to play the video to see the security footage. There you go. And it's unbelievable how alive I still am after the altercation.
It was quite a... I translated the woman's play-by-play, did you see that? That was very nice. I had no idea what she said.
That was lovely. Yeah, it was good stuff. She noted how brave I was, and the man is now called the Tipster, is the young man who absconded with my $7. The Tipster.
What are we doing on the Patreon today? On the Patreon this week, Michael, we are doing the new Dominican cigar, the Ponce. Aha! And give it a thorough undertaking and overdoing and I really should really dust this.
It's time to clean. Time to clean. Oh, oh, oh. Okay.
We're getting a call from the hotline. We have to take this right away. Oh, boy. This could be very important.
What's going on here? Yes. Hello? Oh, wait.
What? Something happened. Uh-oh. Oh, no.
Let's try again. Oh, you better call him back. Thank you for calling AAA services. Oh, wait.
Hold on. Something has happened. Oh, when the bit goes sideways. I hit the wrong number.
Well, we'll just move along, hopefully they call back. Oh man, yeah, I hope so too. Hopefully they call back, hold on, let me make sure they call back, call back, call back. Doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot.
Call back, that was the hotline. Turn those machines back on. That was the hotline here at the studio. Oh, while you're working on that, I'm going to weigh this before I smoke.
Well, don't do it now, we don't do it on this show. I'm not going to disclose the information, I'm going to at least have the wait. Okay, wait, wait. Here it is again.
Here it is again. Hold on. Let's try again. Just a moment.
Hold on, caller. Hold on. Yes. Hello, caller.
Are you there? This is me. How are you, Mike and Mike? Who is this?
This is your 46th governor of Florida. How are you, Mike? Mr. Ron DeSantis?
Mr. DeSantis, I'm here having some fun. Wow, it's nice of you to call, Ron. Hello, Ron, or Mr.
DeSantis. Oh, my. Mr. DeSantis has quite a different accent on this phone than you do in person.
Well, he's probably a professional for the news. Oh, okay. So what can we do for you? We're good.
What can we do for you today, Mr. DeSantis? Oh, my God. Let me tell you something, fellas.
I am celebrating. I am just excited about making America Florida again. Oh, really? Oh, excellent.
Are you announcing your presidential run? Oh, this is gonna be my announcement. I had to do it on my favorite podcast with Mike and Mike. So, whoa.
Wow, that's very good. That's great. I got everybody in Florida here with me, celebrating in my backyard. It's just gonna be a good time, man.
Everybody's in your backyard. The whole, all of Florida. Wow, you got a concert going on there? That's lovely.
Oh my, Mr. DeSantis, it's a good time, it's a good time, how are you fellas? We're good, thank you, we appreciate you calling into the show. Yeah, I mean, you're announcing your presidential candidacy, uh, one year into the, into the new candidacy, which is...
He's got a lot of work to do. It's gonna happen, it's gonna happen, listen, Trump had his "Make America" thing great, that's cool, I'm gonna make America. Florida! Florida 24, baby!
Woo! That's right, that's how we're gonna do it. That's great! We appreciate the call, sir!
I think it's a great idea. It's a great idea. We need to help the other 49 states. You're interrupting, Mr.
DeSantis. I'm sorry. Oh, sorry, I just had to dominate Budweiser. I'm an amp.
It's gonna be a good time, boys. 2024. I got you guys. Hold on.
Let's shoot. I'm shooting good at that now. Shoot 'em! Shoot 'em, Bill!
What a good time. He's got guns, too. Wow, that's pretty amazing. Most of America wants to be like Florida, that's the good thing, so it's gonna be a good thing.
It is. Oh, wow. Absolutely. It's gonna be sunny.
You know what Florida don't like? What's that? Them northerners. They don't know how to do Florida.
Oh, they're booing the northerners. Oh, you're booing the northerners. You know, you might need them to vote for you too, sir. Are they north of the wall?
I mean, we're gonna be all right. Which northerners? Northerners, the Canadians? Where we at?
Where we at? Yeah? Okay. Oh, wow!
Bring it, Bobby! Woohoo! Oh, my. I'm excited!
Woo! I'm hotter than a two-pecker billy goat, boys! A two-pecker billy goat. My goodness, Mr.
DeSantis. Listen, all I'm worried about, I'm trying to get Beer Fest 2021 kicking here. That's all. Okay.
Oh, that would be a great event. Lighting fires, kicking tires. Okay. You know, that's all we're doing.
All right. Just trying to, you know, trying to get over this Florida-demic. You know, most of the world calls it a pandemic, but I like to refer to it as a Florida-demic. All right, because it was much smaller here in Florida.
Yeah. Much smaller. Yes. Yes.
Because I got this under control. All right. Sounds like you do. Yes, sir.
Well, Mr. DeSantis, thank you very much for calling, sir. Yes, well, yes, we appreciate the call, Mr. DeSantis.
Thanks for checking in. If you had to call, I am just letting it known right now, I'm running. And I hope I got your boys' support. Oh, yeah, certainly.
You can totally have our support, yes, without question. I gotta let off the fireworks and kick your sides! You gotta keep, you gotta... Oh, more fireworks!
Yeah, keep on talking like that, though. All right, Mr. DeSantis, we're gonna let you go. We're gonna let you go, sir.
We gotta get back to the show. We gotta get back to the show. Thank you so much. Have a good day, Mr.
DeSantis. We appreciate your calling, sir. Thank you. All right, we hung up on Mr.
DeSantis. He's got very busy, man. My goodness. He's having a good time.
He's having a good time. He's having a good time there. Oh, man. It must be good to be Mr.
DeSantis. He certainly is. Presidential candidate, Mr. DeSantis.
Oh, that's great. So, what have you been up to, Michael, since last week? It did. It's uncanny.
Mr. DeSantis has walked into the store. The guy from the PCA called us. Now, Mr.
DeSantis? Who knows? He's just covering all walks of life. We're so popular.
I'm really impressed. I'm really impressed that you have those connections. Well, he has a line for the back line. I mean, you know, what are they going to do?
He called. Yeah, I mean, you got to get him on. Well, I had no idea who it was. I don't have his name programmed in my phone.
He has my number. I don't have his. And I'm not surprised about that, you know, because he is the governor of the state of Florida. Now a great state of play.
Presidential candidate for 2024. Yeah, of course. Three years in the making. 75 years into the fucking making.
We're not even close to the end of year one. He drinks a little. Maybe he's just wound up or something. It's possible.
Possible. It's possible. So what have you been doing? I did, you know, this week was like some show watching, believe it or not.
Oh. Yeah. It's pretty crazy some of the things that I actually watched. Yes.
So the first movie, like the first kind of show that it really kind of cleansed my soul, and I highly recommend anybody doing this, is going back and watching the roast of Justin Bieber from 2015. Oh, wow. It was amazing. Oh, I'm sure.
Because it was non-politically correct. It was fucking all over the place. Oh yeah, that was back before when you could say stuff. And this guy flat out just let everybody kind of hammer him.
I mean, this is right when he egged a couple houses, and this is when he did all that shit, you know? So... When you agree to do that, you sort of just roll with it. Yeah, everybody called him like a lesbian.
and what was really amazing was Pete Davidson was on there. Mm-hmm. So you know who Pete Davidson is, right? I'm not familiar, no.
I can't place him at the moment. So he's the guy from SNL. He was with Ariana Grande. Oh, okay.
The funny-looking guy who gets the hot girls. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Big Keith.
So, yeah, so before he became as big as he is, he, like, was on this roast. Right. And if you watched it the first time six years ago, you didn't know who the fuck this guy was. Right.
And, like, it wasn't as funny. His jokes were just like, ah, man, that was kind of tough. A little uncomfortable. Because he did, like, 9-11 jokes.
Oh. Because his father died in 9-11. Oh. But if you don't know that shit, like, he announces it.
Right. And it was just kind of like, oh, man, that was a hard job. " And you laugh. Right, right, right.
So it's just kind of, it's crazy that if you go back and you watch it, it was, and you know, and the Biebs turned out okay, so. Yeah, which is important. He's fine, you know. I mean, I was worried about him, you know, in his future.
And, you know, I'm glad that it panned out. So I did watch, I watched that. Okay. And I had a good time watching that.
Yeah. I watched a new Mortal Kombat movie. You know, I did too. I watched it yesterday.
Did you? Yes, I did. Stop it right now. You must have fucking hated it.
No, I mean, it's just a fun, is what it is, movie, I mean, you know, it wasn't very good. You can't overthink that. Right, nobody can act, I mean, the special effects were halfway decent, the giant forearm guy fighting him, that was halfway decent. Gordo, is that his name?
I don't even know their name. Yeah. Prince Gordo. Right.
But yeah, I mean, but you know, halfway through, I had to watch it in pieces. Yeah, me too. I watched one half, I fell asleep, and then I woke up the next day and I watched it later on. Oh, I watched it all day, Sunday, different, you know, I'd watch it and I'm like, okay, I really can't handle any more of this.
The hardest part for me, and here's where they lost me and where I need to take a break, is Sub-Zero shows up to like kill this guy. I don't even know who the fucking guy is. The beginning? Not the first time the guy he kills, but like midway through, like the star of the show.
Oh, he didn't kill him. No, he shows up to kill him, and he kind of like makes it cold, and there's like snow in the air, and then he drops it down really hard. Oh yeah, when he got picked up by Jax in the truck. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, that whole scene was, like, so... It seemed kind of uncalled for. Yeah, it's like, okay.
Let's make this movie a little longer. Yeah, like, if you... You know, he wasn't dropping anything deadly. He's like, it's snowing.
Yeah. Well, he was throwing giant chunks of ice. Later on, but when he... At first, as he appears, it's like...
Oh, well, he wasn't there yet. He's like, slushy. You know what I mean? It's cold when he shows up.
Yeah, but then... Like, in the beginning, the mother and the child are in the house. She's going, oh, why is it so cold? I know.
I get it. Right. And he thrives, and he's there, and you can see he's kind of walking like this. Well, that was a special effect.
And he's got this little-- Also in the snow, and I was going back up. Yeah. And then it came down, and it did kill a guy outside the burger joint. It would have been awesome if he made, like, snowmen kind of following him or something like that.
That would have, you know, I would have preferred something. He had ice swords and stuff. Yeah, as it progressed. But at that time-- Well, I think that's that his powers was growing.
No, his powers had already grown. I had lost-- I had needed a break at that point. Okay, now, I'm not extremely familiar with the video game. Obviously, I played it back when I was a kid.
Are the powers that they gave everybody, the one you have in the movie, in the game? Yes, yes. So even the blonde lady, I don't remember what her name is. Sonia.
Sonia, did she have the purple laser beams at her hands in the show? Yes, she fires like the rings, yes. Oh, okay. And apparently that kills you right away, so I mean, just pour a hole right through the girl with her mouth.
Yeah, I mean, no, no, no, that's not true. You know, there were some funny scenes that were linked to the game, like Kong Lao kept sweeping, Kano says, foop, foop, like, you know, usually when you, when you first start playing the game, When you're playing against somebody that doesn't know what they're doing, all you do is just sweep, sweep, sweep, sweep, sweep, and then people get pissed off. So that was funny. And they did the ending lines a couple of times at the end of the fight.
Oh, finish him. Yeah, that was fun. The second half was definitely funner than the first half. Oh yeah, the second half was definitely better.
Except, I mean, there was one scene when his wife, the guy who, the hero who's apparently the bracelet makes a giant suit on him thing, he went and got his dirty towel out of his locker At the gym to cover up his wife and daughter. Yeah. That that was a little... Yeah.
I didn't read into that at all. But yes, you are correct. I agree. And then they set up the sequel at the end.
A little fight. I mean... Now all the dead people will come back. Shang Tsung says it.
Well, at the end, he's like, where are you going? And he goes, I'm going to Hollywood. I'm going to fucking Hollywood. What's in Hollywood?
You go get Johnny Cage. Well, then they panned and show the poster for Johnny Cage. Yeah, but as somebody who plays Mortal Kombat, you know why he's going to Hollywood. Well, I knew as soon as they said Hollywood.
In Hollywood, yes. Yeah. I wonder who's gonna play Johnny Cage. I wonder if there is gonna be a second one.
See, that's hard to read, because usually they base a sequel on how well the original movie does. And it's gonna be, yeah, how do you gauge that now? That's what I'm saying, because I saw it on HBO. Right.
Yeah. And really, that's the only reason my wife watched any of it at all. " And then she's like, "Alright, this is an idiot. " Okay, I'm going.
I'm gonna go have a cigar on the panel. Why don't we go get drunk with the one-legged man who wanted to fuck me for $5? No. It wasn't that bad?
It never comes up a cough, no. I would totally throw that in your face all the time. I just want you to know, I'm going to go. He wants me.
He wants me. And I'm going to make $5. And I'm going to make $5. And you're not getting the $5.
And guess who's $5 that is? Fuck you. Well, I'm so glad I'm not married to you. Well, just wait a while.
You never know. We're getting married. It could happen. Apparently, Michael, we'd like to announce that today, too.
I could leave my wife, you could leave your wife. She said she was never going home again, and she left it. Yeah, well, that's the kids. That's not me.
Oh, oh, no. " I'm probably a contributing factor to that, though. Oh, I'm sure. You're just one of the children.
Yeah. And she said, actually, she gave me a tip, if I want you to look at the camera more often, I should put a mirror up there. A mirror up there. Oh, yeah, she's right.
Yeah, that's, wow. " Yeah, yeah, that's true. I've seen you walk around the house and you walk by anything reflective, toaster, sliding glass door. Fucking A, man, love me.
What do you want to tell you? I'm really happy with me. I'm putting in the work. Gotcha.
God damn it. Good for you. You know, it's like, I'm like my own calming person. It's like, just, oh, there he is, calm down.
Oh, there he is. That brings me down a notch, you know. Okay, he's here. He's here.
UFC fights. Oh, yeah. Okay, now I don't watch that, but apparently I saw on Facebook. There was something going on, because Saturday night, I drank almost an entire bottle of Screwball.
Oh, good for you. And blacked out at some point of the evening. That's what I'm talking about, Mike. And I woke up the next morning, I had texted Boots, not even English, not even close to English.
He tried to send an Uber for me or something, I'm not exactly sure. Oh, the Uber showed up, you didn't get in. I don't know, I don't know, my wife took my phone for me. You know what, we can always count on Eddie King Palmer to protect it.
You know, it's like, you're out of here. you know like yeah you've had enough you're out of line the phone give me the fucking phone that's it put this down you go in there you've had enough right that's it and i'm gonna go watch mortal kombat without you i was eating dinner and then i just sort of disappeared left the food and everything there and then go yeah something something like that and then no woke up in my clothes in the bed and going woke up i have no idea woke up in sunday and i don't know what What happened? Well, I kissed ass all day Sunday. I'm very sorry.
I'm very sorry. I'm doing the laundry. I'm very sorry. Would you like breakfast?
I'll make breakfast. Coffee? More coffee? Certainly more coffee.
I could use coffee too. So the fucking UFC pay-per-view. Yes, so what happened? I mean, it was absolutely amazing.
Somebody broke a leg or something. There's no fucking way. The next three pay-per-views are all gonna be a disappointment. I don't care how great they are.
I don't care how great they are. Yes. Would you like one of the fighters to call? No.
Full disclaimer, I'm gonna say this in advance. I fuck up every goddamn UFC fighter name, I don't know why, I don't know what it is that I do, you know, I'm like, yeah, that guy, you know, like, we have to talk, and then we're like, we have to verify the name, but I'll do my best to just kind of navigate a couple of these things. Oh, certainly, thanks. So the guy, the guy who snapped his legs, I think is Weidman, Weidman, Weiner, Weidman.
Okay. Okay, here's the, here's what's really kind of crazy about that guy. Yes. That guy is the first person to eat, to eat, first person to beat Anderson Silva, Anderson Silva was a, the spider.
That wasn't the guy fighting him. He didn't break his leg and then kick his ass. No, no, no. So here's how this worked out.
He beat one of the best, like the legacy guys in the industry. The guy who broke his leg. Anderson Silva fought against this guy. Weidman or whatever it is.
Weidman. I believe it's Weidman. So here's how Anderson Silva lost. Anderson Silva fucking snapped his leg against Weidman.
Wait, wait, wait. 10 fucking years ago. Oh. Yeah.
So 10 years ago, these two guys fought, and Silva broke his leg. Anderson Silva is still like the dominant guy in this league. 10 years ago? Yeah.
He goes up against this guy, number one contender. Boom! Fucking snaps his leg against the other guy's leg. So he goes to kick him and breaks his leg.
And Silva's done. Oh, that seems like that's some type of medical thing. Okay, so Silva's done, right? Here's your new champ.
New champ, Wideman. Now this guy goes on through his career, blah, blah, blah, up and down, up and down, whatever. Wideman is. Yes, Wideman.
Anderson Silva's still kind of floating around, but not fighting as much. But he limps. No, no. He comes back.
Obviously, he heals and he fights. He fights Uriah Hall. I think it's Uriah Hall. I wanted to say Hill earlier.
Again, I'm positive I screwed up. I'm sure he listens. This is who he's fighting. Uriah Hall fights Anderson Silva during COVID.
I see this fight. It's a beautiful fight, man. And at the end, like, Hall is overwhelmed with emotions. Like, this is like, you know, he just beat, you know, like his master.
Like one of the guys that he's looked up to his whole career. Sweep the leg, Johnny. They get together. And what's amazing is there's no crowd.
So you can see them. Oh, yeah. So they get together at the end. They both take knees.
They're hugging each other. I mean, it's powerful. Right? So the last guy to beat Anderson Silva was this guy.
This Hall guy. Hall. Who's now fighting Whiteman. Ah, okay.
Right. All right. Now I'm following. All right.
So last person to beat Anderson Silva, Uriah Hall. Right. The first guy that beat Anderson Silva, Weidman, with the snapping of the leg. Right.
Okay. Hall has lost to Weidman when he originally started in fighting. Okay. We're gonna have to take a break.
And I'm trying to wrap this up. I'm sorry. Weidman takes it, comes in, and snaps his leg the same fucking way that Silva snaps his leg against Weidman. Un-fucking-believable.
So apparently if you kick this man too hard, you break your own leg. No, this guy, that's the same guy who broke Anderson Silva's leg. Now, his leg is broken 10 years later. Oh, he broke Hyde's leg.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, I'm confused. Okay, so Hall's in the, Hall's standing there. Right. Okay.
Hall's the guy that beat Silva 10 years, or before. No, no, Hall's the guy who just beat him recently. All right. Okay.
Silva fights this one guy, and he breaks, Silva breaks his own leg. Against Weidman. Okay. Weidman goes against Hall.
Hall is fighting Weidman, and Hall breaks Weidman's leg. No, Weidman snaps his own leg against Hall's leg, the same way that Silva fucking did it. Oh. So it's gone full circle after 10 years.
How hard are these guys kicking? They're breaking their own. Holy shit. Yeah, no kidding, man.
And you know what? What's really fucking funny is that isn't the most amazing part about the pay-per-view. He kept fighting with the broken leg. No, he was done, obviously.
He was done, obviously. Hopping around. The Nigerian Nightmare fights against Masvidal. Wait, did we finish?
Oh, that's done. Oh, that's done. Okay. Yeah.
So if you break a leg, the match is over. Yeah, I think, OK. Or you break anything. Yeah, so, Usman, I think his name's Usman.
The Nigerian Nightmare. Two other guys. He's fucking. We'll just go with Nigerian Nightmare.
He's, you know, pound for pound, most talented fighter. I am Nigerian Nightmare. Currently in the fucking UFC. I mean, the guy's absolutely amazing, right?
Yes. Other than my boy, Suga. All right, don't throw more names, I'm getting confused. So he, so.
So the Nigerian Nightmare is fighting Suga. So this guy never thought, no. This guy thought that he wouldn't be able to knock the guy down. He wouldn't be able to knock him out.
Masvidal was confident that the other guy wouldn't be able to knock him out. This is the main event, they're talking, blah, blah, blah, you know, the guy's hitting him a few times in the face, and Masvidal's kind of egging him on, because he doesn't think he can knock him down. This motherfucker hit him so hard into fucking Tuesday. I mean, Sadal felt it.
Yes, yes, yes. Steven Sadal? Yeah, Steven Sadal felt it. Oh, wow.
Yeah, yeah. Masvidal's fucking family felt it. Yeah, no, I mean, you know, it was a hit. He punched him so hard that as he completes the punch, he's lined up to him, and then he knocks him down with, like, just kind of being there.
there. I mean, the fucking yeah, the sweat, everything just popped right off this guy's head. This guy's never been knocked out before. Absolutely amazing.
I didn't think that would ever happen. But for me, the biggest fight. Yeah, that wasn't the biggest fight. So we have a broken leg.
We have a man get knocked out for the first time in his career. Fucking A, yeah. Big night on pay-per-view. Huge.
Never do it again. Might as well stop watching. Here's the biggest part. Oh, wait, something's bigger?
We got seven minutes. Okay, so we got plenty of time. Yeah, yeah. I feel like you can sit back now and relax.
Oh. Okay, so there's this girl. Her name's Rose, and she used to be a fucker. Oh, I like the girl fights.
It depends, but normally the girl fights are the most amazing. Right. Because they're fucking ferocious. I mean, holy shit.
So, Rose. The hair pulling, the biting. Yeah, so Rose is the champion for the strawweight, I think four or five years ago, something like that. Again, I'm sorry.
I just watch, I'm not like. Right, you're not a big fan, but you watch every Saturday. I watch every Saturday, but I don't like consistently track every person or whatever. There's this powerhouse of a woman.
And her name's Zhang something from China. Oh, I beat you now! Here we come now! She's just, like, she's yoked, she's a fucking specimen.
Okay. And she's the favorite, she's the champion. And she's a strong favorite to win. Alright?
So I'm like, oh, this should be a good fight, you know? So, you look in and you see, they zoom in on Zhang, Zhang, Zhang, whatever the fuck. Right? Again, I apologize for messing up everybody's name.
It's probably Shang. And she's just, you know, she's kind of going in, she's doing like, she's warming up, and blah, blah, blah. I beat you now! You come close up!
They do, you know, they show clips of her training and stuff, and they're like, you know, eating the rice. They're talking her up like pound for pound, like this girl. Catching flies with chopsticks. She's a real fucking deal, right?
Like this girl's going to dominate. She's going to dominate the league for the upcoming, I don't know, five, ten years. She's going to beat Steven Sadal. She's going to beat Steven Sadal.
Right. Even Steven Sadal doesn't stand a chance. Oh, wow. Look at that.
So then they pan to Rose. Okay. Former champion. Former champion.
She's no slouch. No slouch. But her name is Rose. And she's right.
Not a tough name. Her nickname is Thug Rose. Oh, there you go. So she's sitting there and she's going, she's mouthing something.
And I can see I'm, I'm like. She's going, I would like the number four. No, and she's repeating this over and over again, you know, in the ring. As they're announcing her name, as they're announcing the other girl's name, she's going, I'm the, I'm the, I'm thinking, what is she saying?
I'm the man. I'm the, you know, what the fuck? I'm the woman. " Oh.
So she repeats over and over again. She don't fucking hear anybody. I'm the best. I'm the best.
I'm the best. I'm the best. She goes fucking in. I'm the best.
Yeah. I'm the best. I'm just kind of like you. Yeah, right now.
You're the best. I'm the best. So, okay, stop. I'm the best.
Stop it right now. Rip your mic out of here. She walks in there and fucking kicks this girl with her front leg, not her power leg, right to the face. Boom, she goes down.
Zang. Zang goes down. And now nobody's getting iPhones because this bitch is fucking knocked out. She's going to go back to China.
We got some serious problems. Look at you with the racial. Dropping the racial card. That's true.
Not me this week. Wait a second. We get all of our phones from China. iPhones, yeah.
But I doubt this lady has control of the iPhones. Well, you know, that was like the one representation of UFC. Chinese. So was there more of a fight or did she knock her down?
That was it. That was it, man. It was old. She fucking KO'd her.
I'm the best. I'm the best. Come out. Front kick.
Boom. It's over in less than a minute. I'm going to take my right foot and put it on your face. And then, you know, she went into Hammerfist.
The ref broke him up and then. Hammerfist. Yeah, like when they're down before the ref, you just fucking, you just, no, you just hammered them, gotcha. Yeah, until the ref calls it because you don't want to knock them down.
Then they get up and make a center pissed and then the ref says, oh, no, he's, they're fine. Yeah. Give her a minute. Give her a minute to pull it up.
Make up, make up, please. No, you go in and you hammer and then it's done. Right, so she can't get up and fix her makeup. " Wow.
So, uh, yeah, I mean, holy shit, what a car. Wow, what a night. So how long is this fight? An hour?
Two hours? Uh, no, there's supposed to be five minute rounds that are, then they, you know, these championship rounds are supposed to go five rounds at five minutes, I believe. Right, so I mean, each one's over in the first round. They're all done in like rounds one and two.
" It was amazing. I mean, I did pay, but... It's worth every fucking penny, this pay-per-view. Oh, amazing.
Wow. So, anyways. Whew, I'm tired. I'm excited.
I'm excited. Apparently. I'm not going to lie. I mean, when, you know, man, those knockouts, legs broken.
One guy. Legs broke. One guy got kicked, and then his leg fell asleep, and he couldn't fight. That was amazing.
His leg fell asleep? He got kicked in a nerve on his leg, and his leg was like, eww. Oh, hey, that was in the last Karate Kid. They showed him where to hit the thing, and you can't lift your arm.
Yeah, something like that. Yeah, exactly the same. The Karate Kid that's on Netflix. That's exactly how it is, yeah.
Right. Same thing. That's a real thing, apparently. Mm-hmm.
Wow. Yeah, but it's only in the legs. Yeah. Hit him in the right place.
He did. He kicked him right behind the leg, and all of a sudden it was like, bloop, and the guy was gonna go out and fight. What, hop? " No, you cannot lift your leg, I'm very sorry.
He couldn't fucking walk. Wow. But he was still gonna fight. It's hard.
The guys are the fucking most, you know, these athletes, the UFC fighters, the MMA fighters, pfff, All right. Artist workers on the planet. Now we've got all that wrapped up and we're going to take a break. On the planet.
And then we'll come back and we'll start the news. The news. Get right into the bulk of the show because I have a lot of news. Well, this is going to be a good one.
This is going to be a Pedro solid hour. I can feel it. Maybe longer. Who knows?
Past an hour. Who knows? All right. That's what happens when you have a good UFC pay-per-view.
We'll be right back. I don't want to be right back. I want to keep talking. We'll be right back.

I heard it on the other show they were on because they both did, how about that cigar, which was fantastic, it was a great show, especially like the end where only Mike and Skip had access, handled it, yes, because the guy's computer locked up, but whatever server they use does that, kept them on, yes, that was amazing, Mr. Rosales jumped right in and interviewed Skip, yes, yes, I thought they handled that very well, no lag at all in the show, so they would like to announce they're starting their own podcast, you know what we should do is we should have Let them both here on the podcast, and then we should just both kind of walk away. Just let them go. We'll be right back.
We'll be right back. Just let it run. Yeah, I think that'd be amazing. Cigar Hustlers podcast with Michael Rosales and Skip Martin.
Skip Martin. That would be great. He's not coming. So this Friday, we are doing an axe-throwing event with Mr.
Rosales. Is Mr. Martin not coming to make a secret appearance and surprises? I mean, if I knew, then it wouldn't be a secret.
Oh. But as of right now, to my knowledge, he's not coming. If you change your mind, Uncle Skip, I will more than happily pick you up at the airport. Yes.
And I'll bring my wife's car. You won't have to ride in the little go-kart. Oh. And you can even stay at my house.
Wow. That sounds romantic. Well, we have two extra rooms now because we... We have no kids.
We have no children. Let's see. S. Senate bill seeks massive federal tax increase on cigars and other tobacco products.
Yay. Extreme. S. Senate, and if passed, could increase the federal taxes paid on the agreement cigars.
Man, it was a good four years. It was quiet. It was fucking peaceful. 800 percent.
Damn, you gotta go to work. You gotta go to work. Yeah, you're gonna bankrupt as well. Like previous versions of the bill.
You're gonna destroy the cigar industry. Thanks very much. Durbin, a long-time critic of tobacco. He doesn't like tobacco.
Yeah, of course. Okay, so that makes sense. Why buy stuff from a dick? Yeah, exactly.
That's what he keeps saying. You need new things. I like these. Yeah, but I'm over them.
We're moving on. Like previously, guys, he's seeking the following changes. These are the changes he would like to do. I would like to destroy all.
No taxes for e-cigarettes, doubling the tax on roll your own tobacco, and more than 16 times increase on pipe tobacco. Doubling the tax, which is okay with me, because pipes are so much trouble. It's not okay. So much trouble.
It's not okay. It's not okay. Mike, I shouldn't be okay with you. It doesn't affect me.
Yeah, okay, so it doesn't affect you. That doesn't mean that it should be, you shouldn't get behind it. Don't mean the tags on small cigars. Well, it doesn't affect me, so how the fuck do I care?
You should care. A massive tax hike for premium cigars. Now that's the one that upsets me the most. Yeah, they should all upset you.
They're all atrocious. 066 cents per cigar, carry the one, and then you do the at-to-be or whatever that was, and we don't know what that was. Uh, with the change, the tax would most impact the bigger sizes they show 'em, because they- Well, I hate smoking, so there's gonna be taxes. Done by Waite, created a half wheel after weighing three sizes of cigars, and that's made the tax.
78. Ridiculous. 10. Yeah.
It's absurd. Let's see. The tax would most felt is the states with additional and uncapped tobacco taxes as those are wholesale price paid by the retailer. That federal tax increase would then increase the basis upon which the state tax is paid.
I just don't understand what the logic is of these sociopathic fucking political fucking douchebags. I don't know. You know what? It's like, oh, let's just tax all that stuff.
Tax the stuff I don't want to have. Go tax Amazon. Get the fuck out of here. We can't do that.
It's too much. Oh, who wants to do that? That's ridiculous. Hey, you know what?
You guys are making a fuck ton of money. We're going to charge you a fucking extra 50 cents per package. And then you know what happens? We actually want to pay more.
Well, that's what happens. Isn't that crazy? Same thing with these Chinese tariffs that everybody thinks China pays. We pay.
China don't pay. As I've said hundreds of times, we pay when it lands here. Chinese don't pay. See, the diesel crucible shipping this week, Michael.
Are we getting those? On Monday, that's the day, Ford Cigar will be shipping the Diesel Crucible, the final in what the company is now calling the Elixir Trilogy. It's a 6x52 Toro that uses an Ecuadoran Habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua. J.
Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua. All these names are so long. The Department of the Redundancy Department. Yes.
There is a previous Diesel Crucible release from 2012. Did we have that? I don't know. In 2012?
Yes. No. The cigar was a slightly different size, a six and a half inch long and used a Honduran binder. Ooh.
Diesel Crucible concludes... What kind of fucking information is that? It's got a, it's got a Honduran binder. Oh, okay.
Thanks. Like, that's like the most fucking, least part of the flavor profile. Well, if you would like to find out, that was said by Mr. Justin Anders, our friend Justin.
All right. Yeah, Justin, what the fuck is that? He's a senior brand manager, Michael, for Diesel, and in a pressure lease… I love Justin, I hope he bought my pancakes, I gave him the $5 for his birthday. Oh, the $5 for his birthday, that was last year, yes.
It definitely a full-body smoke and definitely for experienced palates, but it's more than that, the cigar takes a sophisticated approach to strength. There are so many intricacies with this blend. I thought Justin was in the room just now, that was amazing. The other two parts of the trilogy are the hair of the dog and the delirium, which we have the hair of the dog.
Delirium. Both of those cigars were limited editions that were packed in similar boxes. Diesel is distributed by Ford Cigar Company of Scandinavian Tobacco Group, prior to this year was distributed by- Forged. Forged.
Not Ford. I said Forged. I sound like Ford. Don't interrupt, Michael.
Diesel Cigar is now sold by GM. No, Ford. Arturo Fuente, Michael! He's adding three new rare Pink Vitolas.
Ooh. Steve, if you could get us one of those, we would like that, thank you. You know, I mean, John Oliva, he's our guy. Well, yes, Mr.
Oliva, he's a very nice man. He'll probably make that happen. Oh, are we on the good list again? We are on the good list right now.
Well, Toro Fuente will be adding a trio of new sizes to its rare pink line, bringing the total number of cigars in that line to? Six. Seven. I was close.
I was close. The first two, you know what, Michael? If you're not the winner, you're the first loser. And if you're not first, you're last.
There you go. My friend Carlos Carlito Fuente. Oh, you know what? When I'm at the Cathedral Grand Opening, I will ask him.
Hey. Hey, can we get these at Cigar House at Carlito? Come on. You help me.
I help you. Is it me? I remember money. Tell me that there is also another size which you described as a Lancero Figurado.
Ooh. That will arrive several months after October. If you're listening, if you could bring me one of those to the Cathedral of the Carito, that would be great. That would be great.
If you can bring two. No, just the one. I don't want to get picky. Don't want to get grabby.
Just don't, don't bring him just one because then how's he not going, he's not going to have anything to smoke. You have to give me that one. That's not right. Not the way it works.
I will smoke it there with you, Carlito. You want to give him two? We will sit back in the big chairs over in the corner by the piano maybe and we will smoke them together as friends. You should give them two.
It uses an Ecuadorian wrapper over a mixture of filler tobaccos, including tobacco from the Fuente Farm in Nicaragua. The company is donating $13 for every box sold to the American Cancer Society, making strides against breast cancer. You know, Carlito, to add to your, uh, uh, uh, kindness, my wife is a breast cancer survivor. Oh, oh, look at that.
Oh, there's the parlay. Put that in the parlay of that. Just drop that, just leave that there for you. Liana Fuente has spearheaded the effort to raise awareness and funds through this project and others.
You know, my wife would probably like to meet you, uh, Liana Fuente. Holy moly. We can talk about this together. Oh my God.
Fuente made it clear when the rare pink line. Quit your driving. Embarrass yourself. The original four, I'm weaseling, not dry bagging.
The original four sizes. There's a fine line and you've officially dry bagged. Let's see, there's the rare pink short story, the rare pink signature, the rare pink work of art, and the rare pink happy ending. Woo-hoo!
Hmm. Sounds interesting. The happy ending. It does.
Right after the rare pink. Ooh. Let's see what you did there. That's right.
Florida Bill seeking beach smoking vans fails to advance. This is ridiculous. Hey, that's right, baby. We're Florida.
Fuck it. The only reason I go to the beach is to smoke cigars. I hate the beach. If I can't take cigars with me.
You can't bring those here. You can't bring those here. The pair of bills seeking to allow cities and counties to restrict smoking within the boundaries of their public beaches and parks have failed to advance. Out the fucking window.
In the Florida legislature. As Tuesday was the last day of a regularly scheduled committee meetings and neither advance out for those hearings. I understand that the entire group was at the beach, so they did not show up. I mean, smoking cigars.
Yeah. The Senate version of the bill was sponsored by Senator Joe Grutters. Fuck that guy. From Sarasota, who has been an outspoken advocate for letting cities and counties implement restrictions when it comes to smoking on their beaches.
Shut up, Joe! Just get another, like, one of those things that helps clean it up or whatever. They're leaves! I take the band, I leave with it.
Well, yeah, the cigars, but if they're worried about like this... I bury the cigar in the sand. I think the bigger issue is the cigarette butts, right? I'm fertilized.
Like the cigarette butts and stuff? Yes, yes, I think it's... Get a fucking good machine that fucking takes care of it. Like they have these little Reiki things that are gigantic tractors.
Yeah, they get out there, they scoop it all up. It's great. It's amazing. We just created jobs.
There you go. I'm glad it lost. Oh, yeah. He's really kind of, he's unique.
He's unique. Yeah, he's a unique tractor builder. Fucking get out there and clean up that. All right, Michael.
One of the stories you love. Tell me. Aganorsa suing Mambacho cigars over a trademark. There it is.
Right here on the phone, Mr. Terrence Riley. No, he's not gone. Oh.
Oh, a lawsuit. , doing business at Aganor's Leaf, has sued Mambacho Cigars over the latter use of the word Mambacho. Oh, the one. Mambacho.
Like, that's the, that's the, that's the one. S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Tropical alleges that Mambacho Cigars is knowingly violating the trademark of the mark Mambacho. S.
that has already produced other legal disputes. S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2004. It was also awarded another trademark in 2012.
It used the name on a cigar called: Mambacho, Thermonuclear, though the current version is known as the Mambacho Miami. For its part, Mambacho Cigars owns trademarks for Mambacho in Canada and European Union. It began selling cigars out of its factory in Granada, Nicaragua, before distribution to the US. At one point, it was selling its cigars in the US under the...
Tierra Volcan. Very nice, Michael. Name. I'll be here all fucking day.
While using the Mambacho name in other countries, but eventually switched to Mambacho in the US. Eventually they said, "Fuck it," and apparently somebody cared. They're not looking good. You put the name on the box, they don't care anymore.
2016, Mabacho Cigars... It's like, so you knew. asked the USPTO to cancel Tropical's trademark. Oh, just cancel that.
Let's turn that off. Just turn it off, we're gonna use that now. Shut it down. Claiming that the company was no longer selling cigars under the Mabacho name.
Which is, I mean... is such a band in the trademark. Which is true. Well, that is one of the things.
You have to keep using the name. Yeah, well, they haven't. They have to prove use of it. They haven't.
Tropical responded arguing that it still sells cigars under the Mabacho name, albeit just not very many. Two. We sold two last year. We sold two last year.
I mean, you know, that's the fucked up part, is you just don't, like, it's easy to fucking, to doctor that up. I mean, you really, technically, you only gotta sell one. Here's the invoice. For the one.
One dollar. One dollar, we sold them to 50. I wanted to bet if I could destroy your company name, and it took one fucking leaf. Documents from Tropical showed its sales for the Navajo Cigars beginning with 100 boxes of cigars in 2004, peaking at 766 in 2006, then staying between 70 to 100 boxes between 2008 and 2011.
Stop it. In 2012, the company sold just six boxes, followed by five a year later. Ooh, man, that's a big drop. And in 2014, they sold just two.
Two sticks or two boxes? Two boxes. In 2018, the USPTO ruled in favor of Tropical finding that Mabacho cigars could not prove the claims that Tropical failed to sell boxes during any year-long period, and as such, it declined to grant the petition. At this time, Mabacho Cigars said it would continue to sell its cigars in the US.
We don't care! Using the Mabacho name, Tropical has gone on the offensive and is suing Mabacho cigars for trademark infringement in unfair competition. S. damages and attorney fees.
Oof. Mombacho Cigars looks forward to defending against the unwarranted attack by a larger player in the industry, said Cam Heaps. It's gonna be tough. President of Mombacho Cigars.
Can he say he's president of Mombacho? Who said that? Cam. Oh, yes, that's the guy.
Does he like you? I think so. Yeah, he's a good dude. Cam likes me.
He likes me. Should we buy some mambachos, I guess? Nah. And send it to Terrence?
That would be funny. That would be fucking funny. That would be funny. That would be funny.
We would like to buy... Hey, we got these in the market. We don't know, you know... We would like to buy one half of one of those two boxes, please.
No, what we do is we fucking do an event with Terrence. We do an Aganorsa event, and then like, it's buy three, get a mambacho free. Like what? They're from your company.
They're from your company. You guys own this name. I mean, we're just here to piss everybody off. As long as we're just upsetting the entire cigar industry as a whole.
Exactly. That's what we are here for. Yeah, we disrupt you all equally. You know, I just noticed by looking at the monitor, you gave me trouble for not wearing the collared shirts now, and this is third week in a row, and you don't have one on today.
I gave you trouble? Yes. You said I was slacking off, not dressing for the podcast. Oh, I don't remember that.
So, three weeks in a row now. Is that on film? Yes, three weeks, four weeks ago, actually. I'm glad that I hit home for you.
Next week, back to the t-shirts. If you could wear like a flannel or something, something with leaves. Palm Trees. Oh, okay, that's not a hard thing.
C. Newman adds The American President as a factory exclusive. Oh, so we just removed the name? We added President to the end.
The American President? Yes. C. Newman Cigar Factory in the Ybor neighborhood of Tampa can purchase some exclusive cigars offered only at the factory, including a new special version of the flagship cigar of the factory.
Flagship. The President. Yes. The American president is a new 7x48 Churchill size that is offered in two bows.
Like the rest of the sizes, the American lines. The cigar is, nope, $20 per cigar. Oh, still 20, huh? Pankaged in glass tubes while the cigar comes in a box of 10.
There's currently two cigar per person limit. Can't buy the boxes. Just get the two. Just the two, please.
$40. Plus 10. I'll see. They sell the American number one to retailers, which we don't have.
We don't. In addition, the American president at the store at the El Rayo factory offers factory first in its store, three size line, oh we don't need no one. But we did review it on Patreon once. Well, we only had the one though.
Oh yeah. I still have not had one. That was back in the day. Yes.
That Patreon is no longer in existence. No. We only do five at a time. We keep them alive for five.
That's right. And then we remove them forever. I would like us to get this cigar though. Tell me.
The Tobacco Trading Company is adding a couple of new cigars. My wife would like to try these. The Matcha Milk & Honey, Black Sugar Milk & Honey. Okay.
They sound amazing. Tobac Tratting will be adding a trio of releases. You gotta be careful with some of these names, because some of the names that have been dropping lately are totally misleading. S.
Marshals Service. The Milk & Honey was originally sold in 2015, though rebranded last year. Contribution, okay. It's a 5 and an 8 by 55 Parejo size.
It uses a Connecticut wrapper and was one of the first blends created by Pat Potter of Tobac Trading Company. It uses a binder that the company says it fermented using a solution of honey and water. Is this where we should announce the new Powstanie, Connecticut? The jester that you did not follow up with after our quite lengthy text message?
Oh yeah, I don't engage on you. Once you guys go sideways on me. No, not sideways. We would like to...
Yeah, I know Patrick Potter. Okay, but... You run the post on the Connecticut. Oh.
Called the Jester. What do you want? What do you want from me? I want just to make a post on the Connecticut.
There's only so many things I can do with this factory. Okay. Well, we could make that. Can't make it Connecticut.
Why not? I'll ask him for you. Well, I'll tell you what. I'll talk about this.
You ask him and I'll record your reaction. I'll skip when he's here next week. Okay, that's perfect. When he's at the house late at night because he doesn't sleep and we're sitting on the patio drinking screwball whiskey and rum.
He doesn't drink screwball whiskey. No, I will. I'll drink that rum he drinks. A rum?
Let's see. Have you had that in Florida Cony? Yes. I actually like it.
It's good, but I can't drink a whole bottle of it by myself. What year? Oh, I don't know. I don't know.
I had several. There's a big difference? I got it for gifts a couple of times, and it had the wicker on the neck, so it had to be the foo-foo-y one, I'm getting. Foo-foo-y one?
Not the kind he buys. It comes in the velvet box. No. Not that.
Not that at all. You know, the first time I ever met Skip, he was down in Esteli, and he was in this little house, this little cubby. He had a full cubby, and it had this little fucking twin size bed or whatever, and there was a shower in the back, and the kitchen, every fucking cabinet was filled with Florida. Oh, was it really?
It was loaded. He drinks it like it's coffee. That was all that was in this little cubby. That was it.
Would you like something to drink? I have Florida. Would you like the seven year, or the 15? It's like, holy moly, you bought all of it.
I have one to 15. Which one would you like? He went to one liquor store and just said, I'll take all of it. " Yeah, that's a good one.
S. Marshall Service. It's a 6x60 that uses a Habano wrapper from Esteli, Nicaragua, or Pennsylvania Broadleaf Binder. It has four fillers, Seco from Condega, Nicaragua, Lajero from Esteli, Viso from Esteli, and Pennsylvania Broadleaf Lajero.
It's being made in Nicaraguan American cigars. A couple of those things sound really good. I don't know about the whole combo, though. Yes, I don't know either.
oh nine minutes okay uh nine minutes we have a link we are going into overtime we have a lengthy florida story we have a listener of the week we still have to pick we got announced we got announced and we have uh i sent the last gift card out i emailed the person oh good exit okay and then we also taylor we also have a update on something we discussed last week yes that we have to clarify which by the way i was playing the the podcast yes uh this week out in the open yes and And, you know, everybody was back there, and Keanu was back there, and when we got to that, I had to turn it off. It was just super awkward. Oh, why is that? I don't know, because, like, we were talking, you know, with the whole thing, the situation, yeah, like, I'm not, you know, I'm like, and it's, and it's a, it's a, it's a tough one.
It is tough, yes. It's a tough one. All right. I don't want him to be, I don't want to, like, upset him.
Oh, gotcha. I've talked to him about it several different times over the weekend. Yeah, but he, he, we don't need to get it. Yeah, but you don't need to announce, you don't have to, you know, like, it doesn't have to be disclosed with, like, people listening to the podcast, and then he's right there.
Right. I mean, like, it's weird. Yeah, okay. Like, okay, I need to turn this off.
Just shut it off, shut it off. All right, uh, in Miami, Michael, let's just end, this just happened today. Yeah? Fresh off the, uh, AP.
I love it, I love Florida. In broad daylight along the restaurants and stores of Miami Beach, 41st Street Strip, pedestrians, bike lists, and even scooter drivers have come under attack. The culprit? Rick Ross.
Aggressive birds. Oh, not iguanas. Boat-tailed grackles nesting in the palm trees above the sidewalk on Arthur Godfrey Road have in recent weeks began diving at the heads of passersby, including a woman pushing a baby carriage. Wow.
Large signs between Royal Palm and Sheridan Avenues where most of the recent attacks have been reported warn of birds' aggressive behavior. So they're obviously some kind of fucking protected thing. The Grackles are a federally protected migratory bird species, and the city is legally prohibited from moving or destroying their active nest. But they're attacking people.
Wait, Michael, it gets better. Okay. So, to ward off the territorial birds, City Hall has enlisted the service of a very unusual man. Really?
Yes. What's that guy's name that died with a stingray thing on the chest? Oh, no, not Steve Irwin. Steve Irwin.
He's dead. Good night, I'll take care of these birds for you. They have hired a falconer. A falconer.
A falconer. A falcon handler and hung up a string with silver tensile to keep the birds up in their palm trees and away from their targets below, some of whom have resorted to covering their heads with plastic bags or storage bins. I'm assuming the people, not the birds. Ah, the birds are embarrassed.
Nobody wants to hurt the birds. Nobody wants to hurt their baby, said Brenda Klein, a mid-beach resident who said she was attacked about two weeks ago. But on the other hand, we don't want to get hurt by the birds either. So the city is spending $135 an hour to this falcon.
I don't know what state we hate the most, but we should relocate these birds to that state. To contract a master falconer, $135, a master, not a regular falconer, this is a master falconer. I want all these birds around Joe Grogergro's house, the senator who wanted to fucking shut down smoking. With a three-year-old hybrid falcon named Chop, patrol the area eight hours a week since April 9th, city spokesman Melissa something said.
While we cannot control the current aggressive behavior of the birds on the 44th Street Quarter, we take the matter and the safety of our residents and vendors seriously, she wrote on an email. But not that seriously. We have contracted an industry professional to assist in establishing a praying bird president. Call in the falconer.
So this man flies his falcon, chop, up and down the street, scraping at these birds as they leave their nest. Scraping? Scraping. You know, like scraping, firing.
Oh, so when they're going to leave the nest, he swoops in? The falcon swoops down at them and shoos them away. Get back in line. The city plans to keep the falconer on site until the end of the month when the baby birds are expected to leave the nest.
" A smaller nest. One with two bedrooms. The falconer's name is Frederick Ottawa. He's president of the bird abatement company, Wing Over Ink.
It's actually a whole company. This guy was like, "What am I going to do? " Right, you know what? I got this Falcon.
You know, this is an amazing Falcon. We're just sitting at home. Said in an interview that the Blackbirds have swiped-- I've maxed out my battle pass on Xbox, on Call of Duty, because they're territorial and defending their nets. " Presidents of the Falcon, I like that he's dressed up like the Falcon on the Scooby-Doo things.
I hope he gets on like a superhero outfit. " I am the falconer. Here to save you and the people of Miami. They're protecting their babies just like any other bean would, he said.
We're protecting the babies. We're protecting the people all at once. Birds may also be foraging for nest materials. On April 10th, Ottawa saw a crackle swoop down to pluck hair from a person's head.
I have this bird. I call him Chet. Oh, he files progress reports. And a progress report filed to the city.
The next day, he hung bits of wig hair on a tree and lamppost to offer to the birds. Take this wig hair as a sacrifice to the people. " The birds have now announced prima nocte on all human beings. The falcon has announced prima nocte to any future crackles.
So, if they attack you, you must let them have their way with you. Oh no, he noted that somebody is feeding local birds behind a nearby sandwich shop. And recommended speaking with the business owner. He's a business owner.
I have tracked this down and I see there's a bit of fuckery about. Do not feed the birds. Please don't feed the birds. Chop will have to come visit you.
They will force themselves upon you and you must accept it. He's also recommended that they trim the palm trees in front of the forage restaurant to prevent future nests. You know, if you clean this shit up, it'd be a lot better for all of us. Just saying.
The city might be just showing due diligence for the safety of its residents and is showing compassion towards the wildlife. At times, we must let nature take its court. Prima nocta. Oh, I told you it was on it.
The falcon has a prima nocta. I told you it was on the table. There have been reports of aggressive nesting birds in prior years, but said this is the first time in recent history, or recent memory, the city has hired a falconer. I grabbed you.
Check the files. Have we ever hired this guy before? Yeah, who the fuck is this guy? This guy weighs $135 an hour, he flies a bird around for God's sake.
Oh, he's getting more than $135, come on. An hour, that's why he's making an hour. Oh, that's what they said confirmed? Eight hour shifts.
That ain't, but that ain't a lot. But that ain't a lot of money. He was only doing eight. A day!
Oh, a day. He said eight hours a week. Oh, maybe it's eight hours a week. Well, maybe he subsidizes by...
I'm hoping it's eight hours a day. God bless this man. I hope you're making fucking bank. He's making protection money from the sandwich shop, too.
Hey, you know, you want the birds to go away. I can make them go away for you. For one, this fucking palm tree's got to get cleaned up. Let's get rid of that.
All right. And you let me know when the guy comes around to feed him. I'll take care of that. To the elderly person or someone riding their bicycle in traffic, she said it can prove more dangerous.
I'm sure, yeah, all we need is one of these birds to fucking kill somebody. 38-year-old Mid-Beach resident said the blackbirds themselves aren't dangerous, but it can be a little unnerving, and they can potentially cause a traffic edit. She said she felt comfortable with how the city was handling the disturbance. I like the falconer, it's a good idea.
The falconer's great. It's great to see him. She thought of having a falcon around to keep her safe made her feel kind of, uh, oh. I felt good about that.
Oh yeah, he's, uh, he's really kind of, uh, unique. They kept her safe and her feel kind of unique, she said. The fucking guy is unique. Let's see, when the lady saw Ottawa patrolling the area on Saturday, she said she snapped a photo, it was her first time seeing a falcon in person, and she said she was excited.
I think the falcon guy is awesome. Will the falconer be a weasel fest? That's what I want to know. Oh, maybe she'd hire him.
I really need him. Skip, if you can get ahold of the falconer. We really need him in Austin. Because after Tuesday, he's free.
He's available. All the birds fly away. Yeah. The guy shows up, so what am I doing here?
I don't know, man. Make the fucking bird fly around or something. Whatever. Make it go over there and knock down that Danny Vasquez statue we have over there.
The Danny Vasquez fat statue. Send it over there to that meat we got strapped in the Danny Vasquez cutout over there. Oh, that guy put too much style and switch on his plate. All right, we have to take another break, and then we'll come back and finish it up, because it's going to go.
So we will be right back. Pedro Overtime. Pedro Overtime. Look at this.
It's official. All right, we'll be right back. Yep. A Cigar Hustlers podcast, its owners and its sponsors take no responsibility for the opinions or statements made by the talk show host or their guest.

Mike Szczec, that's part of the rest of the stuff I have here. Oh, excuse me. We did not donate. We kind of did.
We purchased. Oh, you're right. We did. We purchased.
All right. I'm excited to do it. Yes. I'm going to watch the next show.
I hope it's a good guest. When the opportunity presented itself, I was like, yes, yeah, we'll do this. You know? Okay, good.
All right. Clarification of last week's announcement with Keanu and his family, with the two nephews. One of them is at home. We'll give you a little update.
One of them has gone home now, as I understand it. The other one is still in the hospital. The one with the horrible leg injuries is still in the hospital on a breathing tube and from the photos I saw, several other tubes too, so we don't know anything further than that, he did not look awake in the photo I saw, I saw a photo of the father holding him, feeding tubes, yeah, he's got feeding tubes and stuff, so that's all we know, but we mentioned there was a food drive, it is not a food drive, they have changed it now, the food drive Gunno's nephew is in fact a spaghetti dinner with all the fixes, garlic bread and everything comes along with it, they're asking for a donation, The time of the dinner, it starts at noon and goes till they run out of spaghetti, is at the Deltona Church of Christ on Providence. If you have any questions, you can contact Keanu here at the shop, I'm sure, and he can answer any questions or anything you need.
Yeah, or reach out to us and we'll put you in place with whoever you need for information. Right, whatever that is. The GoFundMe is going well from what I understand. I've not checked it lately, but it is what it is at this point.
Any help, I'm sure, the family appreciates. Absolutely. All right. Listener of the week.
Yes. Hold on, I have to switch it back over. Listener of the week is Shirtless Mike. Shirtless Mike.
Shirtless Mike is Listener of the Week. Mr. Mike Holm. And we have also now become the sponsor of the, I forget the name of the show, as well as the Shirtless Mike show, the Shirtless Mike Green Room.
Yes. So, the Cigar Hustle Podcast sponsors the Shirtless Mike Green Room, and so I'm not exactly how that works, but we will be announced as he brings the guests. We don't know either. Before or after the green room.
But we're doing it. Maybe when they're in the green room, we need to come on. He plays our podcast for them. That would be good too.
We'd love it. Exactly sure how that works. Yeah, who knows? But we did it.
But we did it. That's all that matters. We have sponsored the young man and his show. We are now part of the Shirtless Mike family.
Wish him the best. Wish him the best. And maybe we'll have him on here in a couple of weeks to see how it's going. I love it.
I love it. Who else can we sponsor? Who else can we sponsor? We want to sponsor more podcasts, so if you have a podcast, you're looking for a sponsor, send us your criteria, we'll let you know if it's a good fit for us, we'll talk about it, see if it's a fit, we're all about helping other shows as they come up in the industries, it's where the number was, absolutely, everybody eats Mike, everybody eats, everybody eats, god damn it, all right, we're up to 244 subscribers, oh, on YouTube, on YouTube, as I mentioned, we had 100 views, 104 views last week, oh, that's because Because of the mugging.
The mugging, yes. And then we have 20-- 20 comments. 20 comments and/or new subscribers. 20 comments.
So if they subscribed during the week, because it shows the actual show poster that they subscribed. So if you subscribe during the seven-day period between last week and this week, you get into the contest. What do you mean? That doesn't--they're subscribed or not subscribed.
I mean, as long as they're subscribed. No, but I'm not--but I didn't go back and grab all 244 subscribers that are already there. Right. Or whatever it was.
They had two new subscribers this week, but they did not have to make comments. Oh, that's what you're saying? I wanted them subscribed and to comment. Well, I'm not doing it that way.
All right, whatever. Because they don't all do that until you subscribe, so your name still shows up on the list. I don't want to make it too complicated for you, Mike, that's fine. Right, so there are 20.
So we have 20 names written down again on this paper. 20. Actually, so many I had to go to the back because- I don't want to look at it. No, no, you're not looking.
You can't sabotage me. There is one name that I feel probably should not win if you happen to pick that name, but I can tell you what number it is, because that will influence where you come or go. Okay, I've already determined the number for whatever reason. Okay, so what is the number, Michael?
The number is going to be number... Hold on, what? Okay, go ahead. Seventeen.
Seventeen, oh wow, so that's... I don't have a number, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16... Oh, first name on the back! The winner of the $25 Cigar Hustler gift card is: Yes?
T. Miguel Roca! Hey! Miguel Roca, you're the winner of a $25 gift card from Cigar Hustler.
Reach out to Michael or myself and we will get them to you. com and I'll iron you out, I'll set you up. Ah, there you go. Now the one that wasn't, that couldn't win, I feel couldn't win, it would have been your lovely wife, Brittany, she commented on it.
What do you mean she could've won? I thought she could do a $20. She doesn't pay for things. She don't pay for things here anyway.
We all pay, Mike, one way or the other. Well, yes, but we don't take cash from the lovely lady. It's true. She has to put up with you.
The least you can do is give her cigars or smokes or whatever she needs. Yes. Wine. Did we ever get her wine in?
Yes. I tracked down the distributor for this wine. Thank God, we got the wine in. We're starting a beer of the week this week.
It's 10% off, I selected beer for the week here at the shop. Sounds exciting. It will be up on our Instagram, our social media. I believe it's the founders of the IPA.
I believe that is it. I have the photo already. Yes. Yes.
Apparently JT just shot me through the wall. JT's out there waiting for you. And you're dead. And I'm dead.
I feel that does not count. I'm in a locked room. Yeah. I mean, you know, he's got to hit you with like an AK-47 or something.
You know, he ain't carrying that. There was only another way out. I'm like, I wasn't here. Yeah, I'm not even, I'll tell him that, I'm not even in the room.
All right, we can wrap this up unless you have something else, Michael? You know, I'm covered, let me please double check. We are doing, as we said on the Patreon this week, we are doing the Ponce Cigar. Yes, we are.
The new Dominican cigar that is sweeping the country. Yes. Yes, thank you for sounding so excited. Yeah, no, you covered, you covered it, you slid in that sponsorship at the end, and that was the one thing that I wanted to mention that I didn't mention.
Ah, yes. I have everything covered. I'm a professional podcaster. You know what they say, Mike?
You're the best. I'm the best. I'm the best. I'm the best.
I'm the best. I'm the best. I'm the best. And that's how you become a champion.
That's how you become champion. I'm going to kick him right in the face as soon as the show ends. Boom. With the front leg.
Not even the full power of the back leg. Just the front leg. Just to let you know. So it was just a front kick the young lady did?
Yeah, and what she did was the other girl thought she was going to go low, so she blocked low, clean to the face, boop, fuckin'. See, those women are more limber than the men, I feel. Um, I don't know, they're right up there. Men and women are both pretty limber, and some of them are very limber.
Friday night, there was some fight on here, and I was watching it, there was a lot of kicking in the shins. I mean, is that like the warm-up thing with the yadda yadda, kicking in the shin, kicking in the shin? Well, with the kick to the shin, the reason why the kick to the shin is so important. Softened up the bone, apparently.
What happens is, no, you know, if you weaken the leg to a point where it sucks to stand on, the person's fucked. Oh, okay, that makes sense. So if you go, boom, you know, like almost to a point where sometimes you're thinking, man, maybe this should be illegal. Right.
You know, you kick the guy over and over and over with the front leg, and then all of a sudden you don't want to stand on it anymore. So, things you know. What'd you just do? I told JT I was at home.
He called me a liar. So I'm at home sick. So when we leave, he will open the door, he will peek in, I'll hide over there. And then I'll come out and get him.
Okay. I feel yours sell me out. Oh, you know, if we keep the show going, Greg's backpack's stuck in here. I just saw that, so.
Alright, well, I think we should end it though, because, you know, this is a good long podcast. Yes. Alright. Pedro Especial.
You know, Pedro watches the YouTube. Does he comment? Yeah. Oh, okay.
I just haven't picked him. He didn't this week. He did last week, though. He was on the list last week.
John Gergolette, uh, uh, Yogrelite, I don't know how you say his name, he commented twice, John, that doesn't get you on the list twice, just so you know. Comment away, I want three comments from you, this one. His name doesn't show up three times, though. I know, but he wants you to hire security for me, and there was something else, I don't remember what the other one was.
The comments are hilarious, I love the comments, they're getting much funnier as the weeks go on. So are we rolling it in again next week? Absolutely, we're gonna keep this going. Alright, another $25 gift card.
com, as long as you're 21 or older. Apparently he's outside the door and can hear me. No, he can't. I'm looking at the cameras.
Oh, he's not? No. Oh, excellent. All right, that's it.
We're going to go. Thank you very much for listening. We appreciate all of you. All right, bye.
This has been a Cigar Hustlers podcast, a Mike and Mike production. m. for all new episodes. Hi, I'm doing, I'm Husto-e-Raw.
Yeah, we just don't have to do a single, uh, single podcast ever again. Perfect. I'm good, Mike and Mike. How are you guys doing?
The Hojo, the Hojo! It's the Hojo! You didn't even let him fuck it up all the way. I can't get past Hojo!
I don't even have to try to hit the record. We're gonna cover a lot of ground here, Mike. Alright, try to keep up. That's a sign of a good podcast.
It should be like four cigars when I walked in a door. Alright, end this.
Show Notes
