226 Sex in a Cop Car

226 Sex in a Cop Car

Episode Summary

Episode 226 of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast opens with housekeeping and community news: the Hustler Universe appearance at the Cars That Care Car Show in Deltona (May 14, $5 or a box of diapers to enter), a t-shirt slingshot instead of a $700 shirt cannon, and the news that Shirtless Mike of the Shirtless Mike Podcast has agreed to get a Cigar Hustlers Podcast tattoo on his chest. The hosts also trade stories from the weekend — a heartbreaking flag football championship loss coached by Michael (and his honest post-mortem on preparation, adjusting to a passing team, and "isolating the meltdown" when coaching five- and six-year-olds), a high school production of Sister Act and the surprising $4,000 licensing fee, and a runaway boxer named Whiskey who terrified a neighbor into a karate stance.

The news segment is the meat of the episode. The guys break down the upcoming Ponce Sumatra from Ponce Cigar Company — an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Ecuadorian Corojo binder, and a filler of Dominican Negrito, Piloto Cubano, Dominican Olor Viso and Nicaraguan HVA hybrid from Condega — and go on an extended rant about overly elaborate blend descriptions that consumers can't verify. They also cover Miami Cigar & Company's roughly 6% price increase across its portfolio (Don Lino, Tatiana, plus U.S. distribution for La Aurora and Barrel Aged by Karl Malone) and a similar 6.74% increase from Luciano Cigars, using both as a springboard into a serious conversation about factory costs, shrinking margins, and what happens to $18 cigars when a recession hits.

Other stories include Lost & Found's pivot away from sourcing orphaned aged cigars to commissioning its own production, with the launch of 15 Minutes of Fame — a re-release of The Cookie originally made for Privada Cigar Club — at an $8 MSRP with a portion of proceeds going to a food bank; Forged Cigar Company adding the big-ring Bull Moose line (5x60 up to 7x60) under the Chillin' Moose brand; the inaugural Dominican Cigar Fest 2022 in Santiago, organized by a new 40-plus-member association unaffiliated with ProCigar; and the FDA's proposed flavored cigar and menthol cigarette bans clearing the White House Office of Management and Budget.

The show wraps with the usual Florida story — a couple arrested after being recorded having sex in the back of a Florida Highway Patrol car following a suspended license stop — plus Listener of the Week (Dick Oseman, "Grandpa Manny"), Shop of the Week (Boss Cigars in Carrollton, Georgia, which one host plans to visit before a wedding), and a preview of the shop's May Room101/RoomCraft-style event featuring Michael Rosales.

Smoke cigars. We're gonna be smoking cigars. We have a shirt cannon slingshot thing, we're gonna be shooting t-shirts out. My brother mentioned the shirt cannon, you guys have a shirt cannon?

We have a shirt slingshot, we didn't go for the cannon. The cannon's too much. Cannon's $700. Yeah, I believe that.

Yeah, the cannon, or the slingshot's $22. And we can't make ridiculous purchases of another thing that we've acquired this week. But I'm sure that's part of it. What did we acquire?

A space on a person's body. Oh, yes, yes, yes. We're not talking about that yet. Why not?

Oh, I got to send that out today. That's right. Yeah, but why can't we talk about it? We can talk about that if you want to.

That's exciting. It's time to renew on the shirtless mind podcast. We mentioned this on the last show. We mentioned it on the last show, but we have sweetened the deal a little bit for us.

Would you like to explain? We've upped the stakes. I wouldn't say sweetened the deal. We've upped the stakes.

Upped the stakes a little bit? Yes. Noseboys. Ooh.

Yeah, but they don't have their shirts off. Forehead? Yes. It has to be some type of facial tattoo.

Yes. So Shirtless Mike has agreed to get a Cigar Housers Podcast tattoo on his body. On his left chest. On his left titty.

Left titty. Left peck? Left pectoral. Mom.

Oh, my God. We're 10 seconds in. How's my mother? We're not answering it.

You're not taking it? You're not taking it? No, we're not taking it. She's fine.

I'm sure she's fine. She's fine. She's fine. No problem.

She needs work done on her car. So, she drives a lot? No. But her 20-year-old car, though, needs a little work.

Okay. Sure. So, yeah, we're very excited about this. We didn't know if you'd agree or not.

" I don't know what he's doing. We didn't arrange that. We could do it for next week, though. Maybe we'll call him.

We'll call him next week. Maybe we'll call him. I think that's good. A little plug on the Shirtless Mike Podcast.

Cigar Hustlers Podcast Tattoo, baby. Now you're not going to be the only one with the Cigar Hustlers Podcast Tattoo. Well, I'm the original, though. You and Shirtless Mike.

Me and Shirtless Mike. We'll start our own little plugs. Can you imagine, I mean, like, he's just kind of running around, you know, shirtless, doing his thing, kind of interviewing people and stuff like that, and bam! There it is.

Cigar Hustlers, but that's not your, people are going to be so confused. That's not your podcast. Yeah, but they're my friends. They support me.

They sponsor me. They're one of my sponsors. I'll tell you. Their sponsor.

So. So that's exciting. That's very exciting. Yeah, man.

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So what'd you do this weekend, Michael? I was saying.

Anything exciting? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah?

Yeah. Oh, there's football finals. Yeah. Oh, no, it didn't go well.

It wasn't good. Didn't go well. So. Is that because they fucked you with the- They definitely fucked us.

Yeah. But you know, that's not, look, I'm going to take full responsibility for the loss. You know, but I will say they fucked us. They definitely fucked us.

So the five and six year old group always had just like a championship game. There was never a playoff bracket. Right. But for whatever reason, this was a shorter season.

So they felt, Hey, we'll get an extra game and we'll do a playoff bracket. Okay. Well, one team didn't show up to like, well, we're, we don't have enough kids to play. So the team, we're just gonna instantly went to the championship.

Oh, so we had They had to go through the whole fucking rigmarole, play a team, and then play another team. They should have pushed the game to the next day or something. " Or the next week. Ooh, should have moved it to Saturday.

Just to make it fair. That would have been smart. Yeah. Okay, we'll move it to Saturday.

I didn't think about that. But you know, our kids play great, you know, I made some mistakes. I didn't expect a pass when they made a pass. Uh-oh.

Yeah. Mike, they listened to the show, they heard us talking the week prior, and when you said, there's not a lot of passion going on, we don't usually count for the passion. No, well, if your team, if the team has thrown before, I'll prepare for it, but like they, the guys that we were up against, they have two speedster kids. Right, so they run a lot.

Yeah, so I'll, you know, I would move them forward, and there was one play that was a catch, and it was a wannabe, and they ran it all the way in for a touchdown. So it was like eight to zero, we never, that was it. Oh, no, eight? Yeah.

Justice also had a safety. Oh. I don't know how to talk to him about that either. Yeah.

Like they were all tired. They weren't, you know. Right. So these kids were closing in, so they'd run backwards.

Oh, he's running the other way. And like, I did everything I possibly could to kinda have the troops rallied and focused. Like I had candy for them. I had music.

Did you have orange slices? No, no, I had candy for them, we had legit sugar, I had, I had a, you know, we have a banner for them, one of the parents was very gracious and bought like a breakaway banner, I brought the speaker out, we had thunderstruck music on, like I tried to, you know, I, as I get older, you know, it's kind of remarkable that, as you get older, as I get older, and as I become like more, like, it's, it's a microcosm of life, right? Yes. And what really kind of happens is you learn that you try your very best to always be prepared for everything.

Right. You know, that's number one. And number two is, you know, you analyze your mistakes after they fucking happened. Right.

Which is hard. And that happens in life, too. It's like, man, really fucked that up. I shouldn't have done that.

I mean, you know, how many times have you had a conversation with your kid and you said, Hey, don't do this. This is a bad idea. Right. And here's why.

And they don't listen to you. No. They go ahead and they fucking do it anyways. They do it anyway.

And then they're like, Oh, that was a terrible idea. Like, yeah, no shit. I told you that it was a terrible idea. Right.

And yet you still felt the need to go through that. Sure. Like, I feel like that happens a lot. You know, I'm like, Hey, listen, don't run.

I need you to run this route. Like, no, no, no. I'm going to run like this. Oh, it didn't even do the pattern or whatever it's called.

Yeah, the route. The route. Or, you know, but like even me, you know, I should have been prepared for that pass. If I was prepared for that pass, it would have made a different game.

Was it unexpected, though? Oh, yeah. Oh. Yeah.

Kind of hard to prepare for the unexpected. Well, I don't know. So then I need to do more data on the team. What, do you go watch the other game?

Yes. I'm going to record every game. Oh, my God. You have no idea.

How are you going to keep a bunch of, how old are they again? Seven? Five and six. Five and six?

All right, here are the game films, guys. Game films. I'll review this. There you go.

You're over here. You're drawing circles. I'll review the film. We all need to move this way.

I'll review the film. And I'll know what the plays look like. But you said they weren't a tremendously passing team to start with. No.

So, like they did the flea flicker and just confused the shit out of you. They didn't confuse me. When I saw it come, I said pass. And, you know, I have two guys that know to a start.

" No, I have two really good players that understood the pass, and they adapted to it, but they didn't adapt. They couldn't get there in time. I mean, you know. So that was tough.

How long the pass was it? Just curious. Nah, not long. It's a little five yard fucking whoop, right over the defense.

Ah, right over everybody's head. You know, just enough for them to catch it and run, and then everybody will scramble. Right. You know.

And my team's fatigued. My team had just had a barn burner of a fight. So, I don't know, man. I don't know.

Like, but I could tell you that leaving the field, I was like, I need to be a better coach. I need to work harder for these kids. Of course, always. Always.

I don't blame it. I don't blame it on the kids. The kids played their hearts out. They did a great job.

You know, coaching is your fault. It was embarrassing for you, Michael. It's not embarrassing. I'm gonna tell you right now, there's so much for you.

Sorry, I use the wrong word. I'm gonna tell you right now. Yes, it's so much easier just to own your shit. I mean, the circumstances of, hey, the kids have to play a game before, and they gotta go against this fresh team, look, I can't control that.

That's a scenario that I have no control over. And it's easy to blame something like that. But I won't. I won't fucking do that.

That shit was on me. And I did my best to kind of prepare. Like, you try and prepare for everything, right? And we knew that that was the case going in, because they dropped that bomb 20 minutes before I left here, right?

So it's like, all right, well then I'm going to try and keep these kids focused and rallied and all that other stuff, but I should have, we should have been working on passes more offensively than what we were working on. We should have been adjusting to offensive schemes. I should be able to identify what that team is doing and adjust my defense. Like there are things that I need to do better as a coach.

You said you guys don't do practices with that. I mean, it seems like that might've helped. We practice. Yeah, we practice twice a week.

Oh, last week you said there's no practice. Jacks' team didn't practice. Oh, oh, oh. Yeah, they got their asses handed to them.

You're so confused. They got their asses handed to them. Oh. And, you know, that's not a team that I coach.

Right. So, it's like, so, but what's really kind of remarkable is then I have that conversation with Jacks later, I was like, okay, should you have fucking practiced? You know, what do you think? Do you think the team should have got together for one hour every Thursday like they usually do?

And... Yeah, I was surprised when you said, I mean, I got confused that it was the other team, but I got confused, or... Normally you'd think that was something you guys did though. Yeah.

So that's only the team you're the coach of, the younger guys practice. The team that I'm, yeah, that I'm a coach of, they practice. Oh, you can hear that letter in a moment. I can.

Yeah, you can hear it. Yeah, we practice Tuesdays and Thursdays. Tuesdays we do like light scrimmaging, but it's more like drills. It's more like flag pulling and stuff like that.

" No, well, Jax would come with me and he loved, because he's like my assistant. Oh! He would help me with everything, and I'd let him play, you know, some of the games with the kids, and, you know, he'd crush them because he's got three years on them. But, you know, he loved doing that.

But, yeah, that was a tough Friday. It was a tough Friday. I was really pissed. I really wanted those kids to win.

They deserved it. You know, they worked their asses off. Next season, you're all fucked. No one's going to see the end zone.

I just want you to know. My defense is going to take the field and you're going to fucking be upset. I mean, we did great if you think about it. They only had that one score.

Right. We only scored the one, but just you guys didn't score at all. Mm-hmm. And I think that's the other thing, too, is, you know, I leave the other coach out on the field by himself for offense.

I don't think that that's fair, you know, because I have some help on defense as far as, like, analyzing situations. You know, there's more than one of us out there. Sometimes there's two, sometimes there's three. Other fathers?

Yeah. So you have a defensive coaching staff. I have a staff. Oh, yeah.

Oh, then why doesn't the offensive guy have a staff? I feel like he doesn't want it, but I feel like he needs it. Oh, gotcha. Well, maybe you should just be head coach.

I don't want that responsibility. Sounds like you're just one step away from that, Michael. Well, I just want our team to be feared amongst other five and six-year-olds, and possibly seven-year-olds next season. They'll do that Samoan chant when they come out.

You know, you're talking about the, yeah, that thing, the black, it's a New Zealand blacks, New Zealand blacks, they're all blacks, like the jerseys all, they're called the blacks, it's a Samoan thing though, yeah, yeah, like the rock did in the movie, yeah, yeah, yeah, we can do that, we can do that, we can do that, we can do that, I don't know if I can get them to, sure, they can get the leg of the whole other old school, I'm scared of you. Believe me, they're not scared of me. No, no, no, the kids will like it because all the other teams will be scared of them. I will tell you this, the most important thing that I learned as a coach this season, at the end of last season and kind of going into this season, is to really kind of isolate the meltdown.

So like if a kid, something goes wrong on a play, if the coach is mean to him on the other team, because the one coach was shoving kids into, he was doing that again. Or if he gets hurt a little bit, like he scrapes himself and like he starts to cry or like something, or he messed up on his play or whatever, you really gotta nip that in the bud. You gotta say, "Hey, listen, man, it's okay. You're gonna be alright.

Let me see what's going on. Alright, don't worry about that. " You really gotta push them and say you're a great player and really kind of get them going the other direction. And if you don't, it's contagious.

It's fucking contagious. And another kid breaks down and, oh, Billy, he's crying, I'm gonna cry. And he's like, no, I'm hurting out, you know, like, and if you have, like, three players that are really good, and all three of them are melting down, you're in a fucking world of hurt, you know, so, I, you know, I've learned that isolating the meltdown is key when you're dealing with little kids, so, so there's that. learned yeah things you learn um and then like the weekend was just kind of chill man we didn't really do much you know yeah it took it pretty easy i went to a school play saturday yeah at adrian's high school oh uh sister act kids did a good job oh jump over here again uh adrian was in the play at the end she she got to play the pope i guess whatever administrator whatever administrator is there at the end or their whatever they're administrating i don't know i feel about That's about religion, things being...

Well, they didn't talk about religion, she was just a nun for the show. It's not okay. Do you know they have to pay for those? What?

To do the play? They have to pay the... Oh, yeah, I'm sure. It's quite expensive.

Oh, I'm sure it is. Take a guess on what they had to pay for that. Realty? It's based on number of seats you expect to sell.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. 3,500 bucks. Close. Four grand.

There you go. Just pluck that number out of the air. Right. Yeah.

I believe it. I couldn't believe it. S. this year?

Well, right, and they pay just the one time, it's not for the first show. Yeah, just to have the rights. If you do it again next year, you gotta pay again, right, so I imagine they get a different... Hell yeah, see what I mean, we're in the long fucking wrong line of work.

Oh shit, just gotta write one play. Yeah, we're just trying to make this shit work, this is fucking... Anybody would like to do a Cigar Hustler podcast for your drama class, we can work out a deal. Uh-huh, 100%.

It's just not a problem at all. Maybe you have a small class, just have three or four people. Yeah, $2,500. We need that times 200.

Right. That's it. That's all we ask. Very little set work here.

I feel like we can make this work. We'd have to put everything down on paper. We'd have to write one show. Have them smoking.

They can fake smoke. " I mean, you have religion in the sister act there. I'm just saying. That's a musical, so we have to put a song, you're gonna have to sing.

Oh, no problem. It won't be a good song, but I'll do it. Maybe they could sing the news. I love to sing it.

I'll do it, no problem. Good deal. Woohoo! Make it happen.

We're working in the yard Sunday, and Adrian didn't get the gate fixed, and Whiskey got out. Uh-oh. She says he got out. I feel she was hoping he would follow her, 'cause she's about to give him a bath.

But we have this Japanese family in the neighborhood that runs a lot. Oh my God, this poor family. Well, the lady, the mother was running by herself. Oh, okay.

Running by herself. Oh, man. And Whiskey sees her, so he's hightailing in front of the lady. She turns around and starts screaming at him.

Oh, I'm sure. In Japanese, he's just running, his tongue's flopping around. Ha, ha, ha, ha. Yeah, he's excited.

He's excited, he's going to say hi. He's not a threat. " And then she breaks into some karate stance at him. Oh, my goodness.

And she's screaming. " And quickly, he ran back over to me, like, oh, that's a scary lady daddy, I don't know what I'm done. What the fuck just happened? I was just chasing her.

And you were going, stop laughing, she's scared. I can't help it. So, I have some footage of the actual thing, I'm going to, I'll put it right up here. Yeah, because, you know, your dog is a fucking meatball.

I mean, he's a, if you don't know the dog, I understand. Well, it's not, if it was Dempsey, I can understand. He's a bigger black dog. He's got what we call a gorilla face for a boxer.

He's got a little longer snout, and he doesn't smile, I guess you could say, but Whiskey's got that big square head. He kind of looks like Ed from the fucking Lion King, the hyena. Right, yeah, his tongue's always flopping when he runs his tongue. He's not intimidating at all, but no, she thought she was about to get killed.

I'm sure she did. It was very funny, the highlight of my weekend. Wow, the highlight. Well, we did the play Saturday, Adrian had a, there's one teacher, one teacher friend of hers that always calls every time she comes to town.

Yeah. For 10 years. So we always go and eat dinner with her and her husband when they come into town. So we did that Friday night.

That's why I wasn't here. And then Sunday was yard working, get ready for the week. I feel like you should let whiskey out every weekend if that was the highlight. Just open the door.

Open the door. See what the fuck happens. See who's running by. She's got a husband that runs more than her.

Maybe we wouldn't chase the husband. He might like whip out a nunchuck or something. You know what? Here's what you do.

Yeah. You get a lawn chair. Okay. And you just sit out front and you keep the dog on a leash.

Just kind of chill. Maybe bowl water or something. There you go. " and you just kind of shove him so that he just goes.

I'm sure she's never coming down our street. I will never run down that street. " It's so bad. It's so bad!

Wow. She watches, she's an avid listener, by the way, on the podcast. I doubt it, I don't think she speaks English, she doesn't speak English. But she knows karate.

Apparently! I mean, she didn't, blah! She didn't put a leg up with that, oh, crane defense! I wonder what...

I don't know what the Japanese mixed martial arts are. I don't know martial arts. I don't know either. It's got to be good though.

It was hilarious. It's got to be, you know... Oh! This coming weekend, we're going to a wedding in Georgia.

Guess what city we're going to be in. Savannah. Carrollton. Carrollton.

Guess who's in Carrollton? Someone's in Carrollton. Someone's in Carrollton. I looked it up last night.

I was looking it up. " We have been there. We have been there. Yes.

Boss? Boss Cigars! There you go! Look at that, huh?

Three minutes from the hotel! Oh, we're going to have to go check in then. I'm going to have to go check in. I'm going to see my friends there at Boss Cigar.

Yeah, man. Ask them where the BDPs are. I don't know if you bought any. What the fucking BDPs?

Yeah, I didn't bring BDPs. You got any? Yeah, I wanted to pick some up. You don't have any?

What? This is weird. Are you serious? I'm going to have to leave.

Carinto. Boss Cigars. So if you work on Saturday, Carinto, I'm going to step in and say hello. And then say hello.

You better get your BDP order in tomorrow. Or maybe Friday night. Yeah, I can hand deliver those. Oh, that's true.

Well, I guess you have time then. Until Friday. So there you go. What else you got, Mikey?

We start the news. We have some news. We have a Florida story. Oh.

Well, no, we have, wait. Brent has not said anything to me about the nuclear person. Oh, this is just a story. This is just, it's not a Florida story.

It was too good to pass up. I had to. You had to let it go. Johnny Depp and Amber Heard?

No, it's a story. Oh, no, it is. Oh, no, it is a Florida story. Sorry.

My bad. My bad. That was close. Okay.

Apparently, he's innocent. Oh. Jenny Demp. It would seem that way.

Yes. It would appear that she's a fucking psycho. She's not so cuckoo. Yeah, right.

I mean, the clips that I'm seeing. Right. It would appear. It would appear she's a little crazy.

That he had somebody come up and say she had a split personality complex. Yeah, this guy, you know, you really gotta choose the one that you're gonna, you can't just kinda wing it, you know what I mean? Yeah, well, you know, they all seem so nice in the beginning. Coming from a man who's on his third marriage.

Coming from experience, huh? They always seem so nice in the beginning, and apparently some of them turn out crazy. And you're a magnet for the crazy ones. Yeah.

To some degree. Some degree. You wisen up as you are. They all are to a point.

They're all crazy? They're all crazy. Yeah, you just have to decide if you can handle or want to want to handle the level of crazy. Ah.

Have you seen that? There's that crazy hot scale. Yes. It's a unicorn.

They bring that to us immediately. We'd like to see that. Right. The one that's just hot, not crazy.

It doesn't exist. It's not out there. Okay. Interesting.

Hot, crazy to a point. I'm looking for the hostile comments and emails you'll receive from our female listeners. Somebody can email me at least. I feel like Sweet Pea would be like, yeah, you're probably right.

Probably. Where's she going now? I don't know, but she's out of here. She's got other fucking bags packed.

You know, I read all the things. Nobody ever asked her where she was going. I thought, well, maybe I missed it. I'm not going to ask a little stupid.

Where are you going? Where are you going now? Huh. Does Jim get to go this time?

We try to keep him at home. Yeah, I don't think he likes to travel. Build a hell of a bookcase. See the bookcase he built?

Yep. That's very nice. A lot of books. You know, it's funny.

I looked at that and I was like, man, I wish I, you know, like I have a bookshelf. Yeah. But my, my biggest problem is I give the books out to people. I'm like, you really should read this.

And then like. Oh, you never get it back? Yeah. I never follow up.

Right. Yeah. It's just gone forever. I can think of like eight books off the top of my head that.

Would you like to call those people out right now? Hey man, what's up with that book? Hey, what's up with the book? It's been six months.

Tater, where's the book, Tater? No, I wouldn't give Tater the book. Oh, he's not. I just know that he wouldn't read it.

Nah, I get it. Fuck that. I'm not reading it. Oh.

So. It's the taters house. It's keeping the coffee table level. Yeah, let me put this here.

This is uneven. This is uneven. Let me straighten that out. Oh, it's what we think.

Pull some pages out. It'll be okay. Yeah, no big deal. Not like I'm going to give the book back.

I'm not giving this shit back, no man. Fuck that. All right, let's hit some news. Hit some news.

From the four corners of the world, all the cigar industry news you could possibly need. The Cigar Hustler Podcast Report, with Mike Szczep. Ponce Sumatra is scheduled for late May debut. Ponce Sumatra?

Ponce. Ponce? Ponce. Ponce.

Sumatra is scheduled for late May debut and ad distribution in Turks and Caicos. Ponce. Isn't that just one place, Turks and Caicos? Turks and Caicos.

An island? I don't know. Apples and bananas. Ponce Cigar Company has announced plans to have its second release, the Ponce Sumatra, on store shelves before the end of May.

The blend uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a Corojo binder that is also grown in Ecuador, and a filler containing Dominican Negrito, Piloto Cubano, Dominican Olofizo, and Nicaraguan HVA Hybrid grown in Condega. The company says the blend's profiles between mild, plus, and medium. Look, man, just give me a fucking break. If you're gonna sell it, just make it completely fucking outrageous.

Like, you put so much effort into that, and we all know it's bullshit. I mean, come on, it's a Sumatra rapper, whatever. Like, what the fuck? They'll be offered in three sizes, a Robusto, a Corona Largo, and a Toro Corto.

Give me this fucking camera, I wanna see me. No, no, no, in the middle. The double camera. Thank you.

And you know you make it fucking, they make good cigars. Right, they do. Yes, it's a good cigar. But like, fuck, man.

What is all that? What was all that? I didn't even understand what that was. I don't know.

Is half of it even real? It's a fucking, like, it's not, you know- Ecuador and Sumatra rapper. Okay. Yes.

Look, we don't believe you. Whatever the rest of it is, it's horse shit. Hold on. The binder was grown in Ecuador.

Yeah. And a filler containing Dominican Negrito Peloto Cubano. What the fuck is that? What is that?

Dominican Olor Viso. Just say fucking, I don't know. Nicaraguan HVA hybrid. Groening Condega.

Bro. I can't wait to see you. Because we're going to talk about this. He might be in today.

Just fucking be funny about it if you're going to go like that ball's deep. I mean, for fuck's sake. You know, hey. You know, what were we talking about?

Turquoise peppers. Turquoise peppers. Say it's got turquoise peppers. Yeah, give me some bullshit that's funny at this point.

You know, instead of going fucking Pito fucking Oligro. Like, I want to know the guy who told you that. Because I would look at him like, what? What the fuck?

Are you serious? No, no, no. Show me one of them. Show me a leaf of all of this.

Yeah. What's the difference between Pito yada yada fucking et cetera, et cetera, and that? No, no. It's Dominican Negrito.

Negrito. Piloto. Piloto. Yeah.

What the fuck? Is that all one thing or is that three things? Negrito. It's Dominican Negrito.

Dominican Piloto. In Dominican Cubano, but no, no, it's a Negrito Peloto Cubano. Is this the Negrito Peloto Cubano? Because it only tastes like Peloto.

Yeah, because I'm not quite getting the Negrito Cubano out of this. I'm solely getting the Peloto. What the fuck, dude? Let's begin shipping the cigars in bundles first, which is scheduled to be ready in late May with box version set for late July.

Cigars are made at MJ Frius Cigars SLR in Timbor, Dominican Republic. Miami Cigar Company increases the prices on Bay 1st. I just want you to know, I'm gonna buy that fuckin' Ponce, 'cause I support the guy. Right.

And I'm sure it's gonna be good. His other cigar does well. Yeah, yeah. It does well here.

Oh, we're on the-- Yeah, you're back on the fuckin' other one. So confusing. Our cameraman is-- Would you like to speak to our cameraman? We have him miked up today.

Can you just fuckin' thank you, just keep it on the middle one, for the love of God. He's not gonna say anything now. Hello. So glad we mic'd him in.

Miami Cigar Company increases the prices of May 1st, effective May 1st, which is yesterday. You're late to the game, Miami Cigars. The price prices across the portfolio is an average of 6%. Yeah.

S. distributor for La Aurora and Barrel Age by Carl Malone. Your friend Carl. Yeah, my workout buddy.

Carl's doing a price increase. No, no. They distribute for him. That's not necessarily a price increase.

No, that's true. Oh, yeah, he's doing it. Okay, are you done with this? Because I have comments on this.

Go ahead, go ahead. Wait until the wheels fall off this motherfucker, and you got a hard fucking recession, because it's right here. And you ain't fucking moving cigars anymore, because all of the prices are just way too fucking atrocious. Did they get rid of all the reps, too?

I have no idea. I've had conversations with people that are making cigars out of factories, and the fucking prices are insane. They don't even make sense anymore. I'm like, how the fuck, how do they expect you to make money on that price?

What do you do at 6% price? I've asked that question. I'm keeping all names out. I'm like, how the fuck, like, where, what's your margin going to be?

Are you going to fucking, you know, what, what are you adding to that? Because as far as I'm concerned, it just sounds like you made an $18 cigar. That's probably should be around about eight or nine bucks. Oh, that's quite the, it's fucking nuts.

It's absolutely insane. You're getting the full mic today. I don't know what's going on here. You're all wound up.

But, you know, this is what happens when I lose a football game, and I'm fucking upset. Oh. Triggered. Triggered.

No, no, but I'm being serious. I made it on the Miami Chicago Company. Like, nothing has really, I mean, some things have changed, don't get me wrong, but nothing to a fucking level where manufacturers should have a 60% increase in fucking pricing. Like, how did we get there?

How the fuck did you- They're taking advantage of, because everybody else did months ago. Right, so here's what happens. The prices stay the same, sales fucking drop off significantly, and then all of a sudden come these showtimes, it's like you get your 30% off deals and all this crazy fucking bullshit. Oh, move it up six so you can bring it down 12.

Yeah, it's like, it's the Invicta theory across the fucking board for the majority of these guys. Just watch, it'll happen. It's fucking stupid. Invicta watches?

Yeah. Oh, I'm just trying to get your reference. Yeah, you know what I mean? Like, this watch is $375, but today it's 65% off.

Isn't that amazing? You should get 12. Lost & Found changes company models, launches 15 minutes of fame. Uh-huh.

Lost & Found, a joint project over its creative packaging, has announced that a major change in the company's business model that will see it move away from sourcing unsold aged cigars to commissioning its own cigars. Apparently, they found all the unfound ones. We found, now they're just found. They were lost.

Now there's no more lost ones, but you found them all. Lost, found, found. Found and found. When Lost and Found launched in 2015, it was originally known as Impromptu, and then the BCS, a reference to the three people involved, Tony Bellato, Robert Caldwell, and Jacqueline Sears.

Not familiar with Jacqueline Sears. The other two gentlemen I know. Before quickly rebranding it to Lost and Found, the company focused on finding cigars that were sitting unsold in factories for one reason, Robert Caldwell sourced the AIDS cigars, Jacqueline Sears created flashy bundles, and Tony Bellotto were responsible for managing the sales. Many times these cigars were made for a different company, sold to stores, but then a small amount of them were left over and would sit in factories for years.

The concept had its limitations because Caldwell needed to find orphan cigars that were left over for one reason or another. It worked on a limited basis until the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. When demand for cigars increased, manufacturing issues met, supply decreased. Furthermore, the other companies have caught onto the concept, further draining the supply of aged cigars.

Did you see how many cigars were imported that year? There was a lot. A fuck ton. If you go back, I mean, you know, go look up Half Wheel, they'll tell you the data.

We did a story on it before. Yeah, like, oh. Record numbers are coming in. We're increasing, yeah.

It wasn't, it wasn't a fucking... Go ahead, move on. Go ahead, go ahead. No, no, no, no.

But it's true, you know what I mean? Right. Like, you produce more. He's already produced a fuck ton more.

Right. Right. Now it's like, oh. I'd like all of them.

Right. Wait until you see the fall off. Yeah, 15,000 of them left behind. No, no, I'll take those two.

I want those two. Right. Some of these guys are playing really fast and really loose, and they're going to get fucking, they're going to get popped, and it's going to suck. It's going to suck.

I'm sorry. What? I'm not saying that again. You'll have to listen to the video.

All right. The first of the recent cigars is called 15 Minutes of Fame. It's a re-release of the lost and found, The Cookie. A cigar originally made for Provada Cigar Club, packaged in a brand that had strong association with the Cookie Monster.

Yes. Oh, so the 15 Minutes of Fame is the Cookie Monster. Yeah, so Mardo did a video and he released it and he sold all his shit and I saw his packaging, he had a ton of them. 15 Minutes of Fame?

Yeah. Oh, they're already gone. Oh, yeah, yeah, they're gone. They don't taste like a cookie.

It doesn't taste like a cookie, it's so weird. Well, but they said it did, but it doesn't taste like a cookie. So they're all the Lanceros still? Um, yeah, they were all Lanceros.

Don't taste like a cookie. And the, and I'll tell you what, man, Marto made a nice little double up on that. Oh, sure, yeah. For sure.

I mean, that was beautiful, but, uh, I don't think Brian's happy about that. I saw a video about him and he was not happy. Uh, you're not happy with these people now too? I don't, I don't know.

I would like to see the list of people Brian's not happy with. I think that's a pretty big list at this point. I think it's a pretty big list. There's a, um, supposedly there's a tirade video, I haven't seen it.

I haven't seen it. If you guys, if anybody has the video where he goes off, I would love to get some intel so I can understand. You want to be a little more specific who he goes off on? I don't know exactly who he goes off on, so I don't want to make that accusation.

Oh, so just a recent... It has happened within the past weeks. There's some quiet rumblings about it. I don't know what show it was on, or if it was on a...

I don't know. I have no idea, but I know that there's something else that exists, so if someone could send it to me. Mitch, maybe Mitch. Don't give up our...

I didn't say his last name. Don't give him up. Give them up. I said bitch.

We have reliable sources. I said which. That will give us. Maybe which one would send it to us.

Details. So please. The new version, which is at least the third different time the cigar has been released within the Laws and Felmfrollo, uses the same blend and has made the same undisclosed Dominican factory. It measures a 7x40 and uses a Dominican Habano wrapper over at Ecuadorian Sumatra binder.

That's it. That's it. That's it. No piloto, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Yeah. The 50 Minutes of Fame is an MSRP of $8. Once Cookie Monster was more than that, wasn't it? It's a very rare hybrid.

I don't know. I feel it was more than $8. It might have been. Caldwell's made a point of mentioning that that's $4 less than the previous release.

Oh, there it is. There it is. Caldwell's donated a portion of the profits to the food bank. Oh, I was going to say to provide cookies.

That would have been funny. Provide 5,000 meals. Cigars have different bands in the Provada release and are being sold through the Lost and Found instead of Provada. Look at Caldwell's out here doing good.

Just giving money around. Everybody likes a nice press release where you're donating food. Everybody likes sandwiches. Sandwiches and eggs.

There's eggs and milk from the other company. Forge Cigar Company, a large ring gauge, the Bull Moose line. Okay. Forge Company is adding a new line of ring gauge cigars as its position is extended to the Chillin' Moose brand.

Oh, here come the '80s. Here come the '80s. The Bull Moose is a four-size line made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco. Nothing fancy in that one, either, no, no, no, Peloto Ocho Riccio.

What's the tobacco? Nicaraguan. Nicaraguan. Next.

And it's made in Nicaragua. Surprise. I mean, I really would have loved it if it was made in Honduras or something like that. That would have been fucking hilarious.

The Bull Moose Robusto Gordo is a 5x60. Okay. The Bull Moose Gigante, 6x60. The Bull Moose Gigante XL is a 6x70.

Okay. And the Boose Gigante XL 7x60. Oh, they went backwards. There's no 80?

No. 6x7. No, no, they kept going up. 5x60, 6x60, 6x70, and then a 7x60.

So they went a lug. Mm-hmm. You really need a 7x80 on that. It's only $6, because it's part of the Chillin' Moose line.

58 for the big one. Jeez. Bull Moose kicks Chillin' Moose up a notch with a deeper profile. Much with a deeper profile and delivers in size as well.

Gigantic, said John Hackam, brand manager of Chillin' Moose. It kind of tastes terrible. This is it. The Chillin' Moose isn't bad.

For a $5 cigar. But that size gauge? Oh, I couldn't imagine that. Come on, man.

Six bucks? That's gotta be fucking... It's about this big around. You're...

Dominican Cigar Fest 2022 is scheduled for June 3rd and the 5th. We should go. June? June.

That's next month. Right. We don't have anything planned in June. Just leave me be right now, man.

The association Dominican, the Dominican Association of Cigars and Tobacco will hold its first cigar festival this June. You can FaceTime me. It's the first annual. You can FaceTime me.

It doesn't make sense. First annual is not a thing. Why not? It can't be first and annual.

It's either the first or the second annual. Oh, sorry. This is first cigar festival. Thank you.

This June. To be clear, neither the event nor the organization is affiliated with Pro Cigar, the longstanding Dominican Cigar Manufacturing Association. Oh, I thought it was Pro Cigar. Yeah, that's a better one.

I don't want to go. Yeah, at the white party. Yeah, at the white party. The racist thing.

Only white people are allowed. You couldn't fucking have. Only white people are allowed to get. So fucked up that you say that every single time.

It's not the case, everybody. It appears to be a much more inclusive organization. He's trying to be funny. It appears to be a much more inclusive organization.

It's already in more than 40. Nobody will do this on their show. That's just silly. 40 companies compared to the Pro Cigars only has 11.

Oh, a much bigger organization. Represents a wide range of companies, most notably smaller cigar factories. Yeah. Its leadership includes Osovaldo Radjamas Rodriguez.

He's the president. Atta Garcia Ovalle. I love hearing you talk. I know.

Remembered. Remembered. Remembered. R-E-M-B-E-R-T.

Remembered. This is remembered. Remembered star. He's a treasure.

Hello, I am remembered. Elba Rodriguez. You will remembered me. Radahames Perez.

Marco Antonio. Radahames. Radahames. R-A-D-H-A-M-E-S.

How would you say that? Radahames. How do you say that one? Radam?

No, no, it's not Rodham. Marco Antonio Azzaris Ventura. Not Rodham. Wait, wait, this one's good.

Marco Antonio Azzaris Ventura, you killed my father. Hello, my name is Marco Antonio Azzaris Ventura. You killed my father. Angela Gomez Robinson Diaz Francisco Mateos.

Okay. As for the event, it's making this festival about the Santiago municipality. It's home to the most of the country's cigar factories. Okay.

A lot of information about these people. 40 factories? We'll see you. On Friday...

It's 40 of us, so it's Mejor. Meanwhile, the other 11 that do the whole fucking... I had the list of the 44 companies. Poro, fuck it, go ahead.

It ain't going to be LFD, it ain't going to be Fuente, it ain't going to be any, you know... Cigar Box Company, Cigaros La Reina, Cigarzona, distributors of Belmar Investments, Don Anbal Tarullo Cigars, Don Cinco Cigars, Don... A lot of Dons. Don Ulrich Cigars, Dove and Tobacco, Equidom.

Wait, wait, who'd you say wasn't going to be in it? LFD? Yeah. But FK Global.

That's practically the same company. The same company. Gomez Lopez Cigars. Gomez Lopez.

Joa del Sol. Joa. Hoja, how do you say Hoja? Hoya?

Hoya. Don't look like Hoya. J-O-Y. Humo Philantropico.

Enter Cigar. Oh, here's Mateo. Mateo cigars are there. Bob Tobacco, Products del Tobacco, Tablacalera Chimón, Tablacalera Cune, Tablacalera Diaz Carita, Tablacalera Arrita.

Don Tablacalera. A lot of Tablacaleras. Tablacalera de Don. Oh, TCD.

Almost LFD. TCD. Logistics and Yaya cigars. Oh, Yaya.

Yaya. So, yeah, you go ahead and you go to that one. Alright, you just, you send me pictures. I don't even want you to FaceTime me in.

There are companies not members will have a presence at the event in some capacity. One note, Tablicalera, Palma, my cigar factory, appears to be the only pro cigar member that is participating in the event. Well, you know, I guess I like to spread it around a little bit. That's nice.

You're very generous. Yes, we're having a tan party. FDA proposed flavored cigar, methyl cigarette bans clear. Oh, yeah, hey.

Plans to ban flavored cigars and menthol cigarettes took a major step forward this week as both proposed rules cleared the White House Office of Management and Budget on Thursday. S. Food and Drug Administration announced that the agency planned to create new rules that would seek to ban the sale of flavored cigars and menthol cigarettes. At that time, FDA said the proposal would be announced within a year.

Last week's movement would allow for that to happen. Last year's announcement was made on April 29th, leaving open to the possibility that The proposed rules could be unveiled this week. What are you doing? I'm just listening to you fucking rattle on about FDA.

The Office of Management and Budget is responsible for, among other things, making sure the executive agencies like the FDA follow the appropriate laws and regulations regarding creating a new policy action. OMB is also a place where the intense lobbying takes place. There were 15 meetings at the OMB on the Flavored Cigar Rule, and the variety of cigar industry figures met with the OMB, including... We have more names.

Don, Don, Don, Don. Patrick Anderson. Oh. He works for the PCA.

I prefer you to fuck up their names, too. Patrik. Joe August. Patrik Andreessen.

Corey Beppapert. Cody Cardin. Kodai. Mike Kupperman.

Paul De Nino. Paul. He is a lobbyist for the Cigar Rights of America. Andrew Perlott.

He's a lobbyist for the Office of the OMB. Okay. Dennis Potter. Dennis Potter.

Not related to Harry Potter. Dennis. No. I'm sure he gets that.

Oh, you know Harry? He's a lobbyist. Barry Schwitz. I'm sure it's Shavitz, but you're like going to mess up the name.

Schwitz. Mary Sammermack. And Greg Zimmerman, president of the Premium Cigars. There you go.

When FDA announces the proposed rules, it will not mean the flavored cigars or menthol cigarettes. You're wearing the same shirt as I'm wearing. Did you know it was black t-shirt day? Yes, it's Monday, it's black t-shirt day.

Oh, very nice. Who wore it better? All right, we'll get on to the Florida story. Because this is a long story.

And then we have a hot off the, we have a new story. FDA is coming for your flavored cigars. Hot off the presses, we have a story. And your menthol cigarettes.

And it's sad. All right. All right. Florida couple caught having sex in the backseat of a police car.

Good for them. I mean, come on. That's like a once in a lifetime opportunity. This is a crime of opportunity.

This is a crime of opportunity. Yeah. Of course. They were arrested for something else.

Absolutely, they were arrested. So, yes. Let's get on with the story. You're handcuffed and I'm handcuffed.

I don't think they were handcuffed. Oh, that's even easier. Florida couple were allegedly caught on video having sex in the back of a police car. The Florida Highway Patrol Troopers said that Summer Watkins and Jordan Nao, both 24, engaged in sexual activity after being placed in a patrol car where Noah was pulled over for driving with a suspended license early on Thursday morning.

Nice. " I hope they make fucking millions. D. Perez Morales.

Shortly after making the comment to Noah, the report said that Watkins said, what if I suck his dick back here? Perez Morales warned her against carrying out the sex act and proceeded to explain that the couple were being taken to a nearby gas station where they would make arrangements to go home. So he got them for a suspended license. Sit back there.

Don't make any noise. Take it to the next gas station. I'm trying to be cool about it. Yeah, I'm going to be cool.

Right. Don't suck his dick. Hey, look, you can't drive. I'm going to take you over here, away from your car.

Away from your car. Drop you off at the gas station. And have somebody come get you. , the defendant interrupted me and asked again.

I'm going to blow him. " What was she expecting for the answer? Trooper left the car one minute later telling the couple that in a couple of minutes, we'll be headed to the gas station. Just sit tight.

Shortly after I closed the door, Mr. Nao took his penis out of his shorts. The officer wrote, the defendant then bent down and began to perform oral sex on Mr. Nao for approximately 40 seconds.

It's not enough time. Oh, the prisoner compartment camera captured all the events. Hey, can we get a copy of that, Kim? For our OnlyFans page.

Let's see. The defendants can be heard saying, "Fuck 5-0", while giving oral sex, the trooper continued. Mr. Nao then can be seen, heard yelling, "Can y'all hear me?

" Wait a second. So they're in their mid-20s and they're yelling, "Fuck 5-0". Fuck 5-0. Fuck 5-0.

That is like some old school shit. She was yelling that while she's sucking his dick. So it's more like, I'm guessing. Just after the sex act finished, Neo was allegedly captured using FaceTime to chat with a friend, prompting Watkins to mention that she just sucked his dick in the back of a police car.

So not only did they do it, he immediately called his buddy. Hey, guess what? Did they get arrested? Yes, they were arrested.

All right, and this hot off the prices, Michael, Luzione increased prices for 2022. Just came out today. At the end of last week, the prices for Luzione cigars increased. The new price took effect April 30th, 2022.

Hmm. The founder of Luzione told Half Wheel that Fred Rui's salary is really costing us a lot of money. 74 percent increase on the average. Retailers replaced orders by April 29th were able to purchase using the old price scene.

Fred refused to fly coach. Said Deon, said Deon. 7. Sorry, Fred.

All right, Mike, we got a shop. You got a Listener of the Week? I have a Listener of the Week, and he's a really good guy. He's very, he's very nice.

And I'm like thinking, he's gonna be the Listener of the Week on this podcast. And I guess I'm still gonna make him Listener of the Week. All right, all right, hold on. Listener of the Week is...

Dick Oseman. Dick Oseman. Dick Oseman. Oseman.

Oseman. Oh, Dick, because the lady sucked dick? No, that's his name. That's his name.

The Manny. Yes. The Manny's wife. Yes.

Grandpa. Oh, he's a listener? Yeah. Oh, how about that?

Oh, he was here. Oh, I met him. Very nice man. Yeah, so he stays up to date.

On what the Manny's doing? On what's going on with the podcast. Oh. Yeah, yeah, he stays up to date.

He's an avid listener. Oh. Does he just listen or does he watch? I don't know if he's going to survive listening to this one all the way, but I hope he does.

I hope he does. I hope he does. Listen to the end. So I can put a little thing in the beginning saying, please listen to the end.

Please listen to the end. Grandpa Manny, please listen to the end. No, you know, but he's a great guy. He was very nice when he was here.

Yeah, very happy, you know. He's a good dude. He's a good dude. You got a Shop of the Week?

Yeah. What Shop of the Week, Michael? Boss Cigars. Boss Cigars!

Shop of the week! I think they're the most shop of the week we've ever had. No. Yeah, because for a while they were reoccurring because we didn't have another one when we were starting doing.

Really? I think so. I felt like maybe it's a backology would be, I mean, we've mentioned a lot, Hogshead. Where's Bart with his update?

I know you mentioned that earlier. Yeah. Nothing about the nuclear power guy. He went radio sounds for the whole week.

Oh, wow, look at that. He's like, ooh, I've got myself in too deep. Too deep, no, I want stuff. I'm thinking to step back, you know?

All right. Anything else? That's it for me. So what are we doing on the Patreon today, Michael?

I don't know. You don't know? It'd be something good, though. Let's see.

I feel like we haven't, we haven't, we need something. I need something on the Patreon that tastes good. Oh. Maybe we can go find something.

We'll go look into that. What's the event for May for the shop? I think it's Romacraft. Are we doing anything special?

I tried to work on the artwork today, but I didn't know what was going on. I think we're going to have Michael Rosales here. Well, I understand that. He's going to breakdance.

Oh, nice. Yeah. Oh. He's been working on that.

So, Michael Rosales, Electric Boogaloo. Yeah. We may play Twister. Oh.

Oh. That'd be nice. I'd like to see some of these, you know, post-50-year-old obese men get the red hand on red. You know what would be a good idea?

Red hand on red. A jump rope competition. Oh. We better have a defibrillator on standby.

He would win. He would crush. Obviously. But he can challenge people to do things.

Who the fuck's going to do that? Boots. He ain't going to win. No, he ain't going to win.

He won his past week. Turn his mic on. All right, hold on. All right, there he is.

You can jump rope? I can jump rope. Yeah. No, but he has a good month though to get his trainer to work him up to it.

A boxing level type of a jump rope? Oh, yeah. He uses a weighted jump rope, Mr. Rosales does.

He does. Could you do a weighted jump rope? Can you do a way to jump rope? Yeah, I can do that.

With the Drake's, with the . Like Indiana Jones with the . Are we doing this? Are you one of the Crux?

You won the Crux event? He won the second place. I won the second place. You weren't here to do the drawing, so of course he won.

What'd you get? Two boxes of cigars. Two boxes? That's second place?

The five packs. Oh. Okay. Yeah, so he's upselling it.

Right. Okay. I turn him off. That's all you get.

He's back up. I like him over here though because he can be like a source of information. Right, yeah. If we need something looked up.

Still gotta work in the camera thing though. Yeah. Yeah. But he'll get the hang of it.

Yeah. Eventually. 20, 30 more times. Right, right.

Around show 300 maybe. Around show 300, yeah. Maybe then it'll be. Maybe 54 episodes from, wait, no.

What am I doing? That's terrible, Matt. 74 episodes? 74, yeah.

People's heads are snapping as they're trying to catch up with the thing. Camer 1, Camer 2, Camer 3, Camer 2, Camer 1. All right. Say goodbye, bye.

Michael needs his camera to say goodbye, Boots. Have a wonderful week. Thank you very much for listening. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

That's all I got. Bye, Cameroots. Thank you. This has been episode 226 of the Cigar Hustler Podcast.

We'll see you guys next week. Bye. This has been a Cigar Hustlers podcast, a Mike and Mike production. m.

for all new episodes. Hi, I'm doing... I'm Husto Iroa. Yeah, we just don't have to do a single, uh, single podcast ever again.

Perfect. I'm good, Mike and Mike. How are you guys doing? The Hojo, the...

Hojo! It's the Hojo! De Madre. He didn't even let him fuck it up all the way.

I can't get past Hojo! I don't even have to try it. He's not even going to try it. We're going to cover a lot of ground here, Mike.

All right. Try to keep up. That's a sign of a good podcast. It'd be like four cigars when I walked in a door.

All right, end this.
