ACHP 465 Superbowl Post Show

Transcript

Everybody.

Ready now?

This is how we're gonna start.

Yeah, we're gonna start.

This is how it's gonna go, huh?

OK, welcome to is the Guy

Hustler podcast episode 465.

I'm Mike Ballmer, the only man

in America that has not watched

one second of the Super Bowl.

No way I.

Didn't watch any of it.

You're kidding me.

Nope.

Didn't watch a thing.

You didn't watch a single second

of the Super Bowl.

No, but this morning I did watch

all the important stuff for us

to talk about.

You didn't watch Patrick Mahomes

play he.

Wasn't playing, was he?

Yeah, he was on the.

Chiefs didn't play.

Yeah, no, no, he's no longer

there.

Yeah, he's on Seattle.

Is he really?

Yeah.

You guys are lying.

I guess he knows enough about

sports.

She don't.

I'm your host and with me today,

as always, is Phil Prop Bet,

Mcguffey, Bing Bong and

Engineering.

Did your prop bets pay off?

Not for the Super Bowl, no.

They did not.

No day before Super Bowl was

good, but not the Super Bowl.

Every I I do know Drake lost

$1,000,000.

Drake.

Yeah.

OK.

That's that's not, I mean, it's

a lot, but I read who's dating

the that Cardi B that as the

baby from the football.

Stephon Diggs.

Yeah.

She paid 1.2 million for her and

her crew to go to the Super

Bowl.

Oh.

Yeah, but that, I mean, yeah,

it's a lot of money.

It's a lot of money and

engineering and my Co host

Mikey.

I chose so bad for the Super

Bowl winner you'd think I was

one of the money makers.

Stephane Kevitch.

I what?

Chose so bad you went on and on

how the Patriots are going to

win last week.

Yeah.

Well, they didn't win.

I chose so bad.

Wow.

You that you're one of the money

makers, it's more of a knock at

the money makers than you.

So just relax, just take it and

just move on, OK?

We do make money, we just didn't

make money in the Super.

Bowl I don't know if you make

money.

OK.

I don't, Yeah.

From our general assessment and

from our viewers assessment.

Total earnings of the money

makers may not equal total

losses of the money maker.

And that's, and that makes you

sound like a true degenerate

gambler because then you only

talk about the your WS and you

don't really talk about your LS.

You know, like man, I made $5000

this week.

Great.

How much did you lose last week?

10,000 But that's not important.

Right now, not important.

Right now I I'm on the I'm in

the black on this week.

You want to know what makes it

the degenerate gambler when

people don't win their parlays

and then they I hear them go,

you know what, I'm going to go

buy a scratch off, maybe I'll

win that.

Go off.

Scratch off.

So somebody said that to you?

Yeah, I'm like, why would you

waste more money like?

No, come on Ginger, get with the

program.

Oh, it wasn't it's.

The only other money maker.

The only other mother maker's

name right now.

It's Robbie Doyle right there,

buddy.

That's.

Why that does sound like a

Robbie Doyle?

Is Robbie Doyle one of money

makers?

No.

Well yeah he is, but I don't

know if he played.

Does he do scratch offs?

I have no idea.

He seems like a cheap guy, I

don't think he would buy a

scratch off.

He's a casual money maker.

Yeah.

All right, on today's show,

we're all about the Super Bowl

info.

Then the Navy lost a secret

weapon.

A Maryland paramedic went all

in.

And then in cigar news, we have

a new portal entry, A new cigar.

Price increases.

Tarrant No, no price increases,

but Terrence Riley turns 109.

And then we end the show with a

big What's the score?

All right.

But first, Mikey, how do we get

some of that chapter?

Pod football swag.

Well, we have no football swag

unfortunately, but what you want

to do is check out Chapter

pod.com for all of your podcast

swag where you buy 1, you get

the 2nd 140% off, and if you

spend $100 or more, you're going

to get free shipping.

I did just get the hats in.

Oh.

Yes, like since you were here.

Yeah, I ordered.

No, yeah, I ordered.

I ordered them and they came.

They arrived Friday.

Oh, so you have them home?

Oh, you should have brought.

One yeah, I guess I should have

brought one yeah, but I needed I

wanted to get it and have like

my physical hands on it so I can

actually measure where I think

what will work as far as like a

oh I.

Just want to see a blank one

press.

Just see how they fit.

I'll bring it tomorrow, OK, I'll

bring it tomorrow.

So that's coming soon.

Nice.

That's coming soon, hopefully.

Don't.

Don't put a date on it.

Yeah, don't put a date on.

It Yeah.

Bad idea.

Bad idea.

It's coming soon.

We.

Have people making their own.

Beanies, I saw that.

He'll smoke pot.

Making his own beanie man and it

looked great.

I'd love.

One that was nice.

Yeah.

Nice piece of paper on that.

It was nice.

It was a big patch too.

Yeah, it was big.

Huge it looked.

Great, that was nice.

Oh man.

Is that considered counterfeit?

Are we being knocked off now?

Yeah.

Trademark in frames.

Calling our attorneys.

You'll be hearing from my

lawyer.

That's right.

Yes.

OK.

All right, Well, let's go.

All right.

Let's get into the Super Bowl,

yeah.

Oh, by the way, like and

subscribe wherever viewing or

watching.

And now let's get into the Super

Bowl.

All right.

First off, I have a question.

Yeah, well, first of all, you

didn't see it so.

Well, it doesn't matter.

All the stuff I'm going to talk

about I have seen, and then I

let you guys do the sporty

stuff.

OK, All right, Since most people

have to work or go to school on

Monday, should the Super Bowl be

moved to Saturday?

No, OK, why?

It's because just deal with.

It I know why he's asking.

I saw this on one of the

commercials or something, or on

the radio or something.

They asked that question.

It is the number one.

Call out day.

Call out day other year.

Yes, because it's a national

thing.

Up north, it's hunting, but for

for nationwide it is the call in

day.

OK, well, I mean, you know, like

the guy, you know, I have a guy

that works out with me right

now, right?

He obviously couldn't make it,

you know, couldn't.

Make it, yeah.

And then he's going to give you

some excuse.

Yeah, that's going to be the

greatest thing about it.

Because I just woke up like I

got it.

Like, well, I'm finished.

What time did the game end?

Oh, like a 10/30.

Yeah, it was early 'cause they

went quick.

Oh well, that's not too bad.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Like you know, even with some of

my friends that were at the

house like all right, as of like

the 4th ground, 4th ground,

fourth down, fourth quarter.

Fourth quarter.

Was winding down.

What all the football

terminology?

Was as the fourth quarter was

winding down, they started to

kind of like, all right, well,

I'm tired, I'm going to leave

and like, aren't you tired?

I'm like probably going to be up

for the next two hours.

Before you're up smoking anyway.

You know, so was just going to

call it Sunday for me.

I don't, I don't know what to

tell you, but yeah, no, I like

it.

Keep it on Sunday.

That's fine.

Is there a reason they play on

Sunday?

Is it just tradition I.

Just think that that's when they

started super.

The football was always on

Sunday so.

Football Sunday, man.

Football Sunday.

Yeah.

All right.

Just curious.

What do you think, boots?

Do you think it should be moved

to Saturday?

No, that's college day.

Yeah.

Was there college games on

Saturdays?

That's over.

Look man, I like my Saturdays.

Right.

Don't mess them up.

Date night, Friday, Saturday's

like maybe a make up date night

and then Sunday is, you know,

God's day and football.

Day a year, it's not like every

weekend they're playing the

Super.

Bowl No.

Leave it the way it is.

Yeah, Palmer, stop trying to

change.

It yeah, I'm not changing it,

just curious why it was on

Sunday.

Don't mess with my pots and

pans.

How's that sound?

You're pretty.

You're pretty determined though,

to know the answer from us.

Yeah, you, yeah.

I mean you're, you're eager to

get it moved to Saturday, so you

can not watch it on Saturday.

No, I don't care what day it's

on.

It could be on Tuesday as far as

I care, but still not watching

it.

Did it mess up the figure

skating Olympics for you?

No, I'm watching the Olympics

either.

What about the swimming?

Just read the Just the

highlights when I'm looking for

stuff to talk about on here.

Did you see Lindsey Vonn go

down?

I did see that in a replay,

yeah. 13 seconds in, she snaps

her leg.

Yeah.

She hooked the flag or whatever

with her arm spunner.

Jeez, yeah, had the airlifter in

a helicopter.

They did.

Yep, Yep.

That guy looked like he was

having a good time.

Helicopter.

Guy, helicopter guy, there you

go.

Hey, I get to rescue somebody.

He's hanging in the air.

Yeah, he's like, it's go time.

Yeah, the camera's on me.

Yeah, we're going to ride in the

helicopter.

Some figure skater did some

backwards flip.

That's illegal, but he did it

anyway.

Oh yeah, that's that's the boy.

Yeah, it was a man, I said.

That's the guy.

The boy.

Well, he's, yeah, he's only like

19 or something like.

That he's pretty good.

It's an outlawed move because

it's too dangerous, but he went

fuck it but doing it anyway.

Yeah, really.

Yeah.

And he got it and.

He did it successfully too, so I

guess he got disqualified.

I don't know.

How that worked?

He got dequeued.

I don't know.

I didn't.

I didn't see the outcome.

Just how it happened.

Imagine was spending all that

time practicing just to get that

far and say, you know what I'm

going to do?

Well, I mean the girl, 13

seconds in she snapped her leg.

Last.

Time.

Oh, he did it on purpose.

Yeah.

Yeah, she didn't.

He accidentally tripped and back

flipped into this.

Amazing.

Lindsay Von didn't wake up at

the top of the slope.

So you know I'm going to blow

out my legs, right you?

Know well she was skating with a

knee brace.

She just had knee surgery.

Yeah.

I mean, that's incredible, yeah.

Yeah, 'cause she's been training

for years before this, so yeah.

She's 41 years old.

Yeah, she would have been the if

she would have medaled, she

would have been the oldest gold

medalist in history, damn it,

for America.

Tom Brady's gonna break that

shit in two years anyways.

Fly football, yes.

Let's.

Go.

All right, The national anthem

with Charlie Putnam, everybody's

talking about that because if it

was emotional enough.

Oh, did you feel that?

It was emotional, the.

Is.

Normally I guess when they see

it, they put more emotion into

it.

He just sort of straight sing

it.

Yeah, I mean to me it not only

did he not only straight sing

it, but he was under the normal

average of the length of time.

There goes again, Vegas just

screwing everybody, no?

You know, no long crescendos,

no.

You damn right Vegas is involved

in.

That.

You know, every time it's over,

every single time it's over,

right?

And he was Rockets red glare.

We're out of here.

I mean, that was a fast Yeah, he

backed it in.

I need to get my 5 mil.

Yeah, it was the shortest video

I had to watch.

This morning.

I mean, it's perfectly

acceptable.

Yep, it's for him.

Like it's not doesn't directly

affect the game, like, right.

Hey yo, this is what we need

from you.

Right, need you to sing.

Fast and we need you to get it

under 2 minutes, OK?

Right.

And you notice how they show the

Gatorade color at the end?

Yeah, of.

Course.

It's like, well, normally you

don't see it until it's on the

coach and you're like, oh, but

they showed it did.

They must have been everybody.

Everybody must have been on

blue.

Damn.

It everybody been on blue,

everybody been on black?

Someone switched the Gatorade.

Right.

They got to know beforehand.

Somebody's got to know what the

Gatorade color is beforehand.

Yeah, I'm sure the guy that

brings the packet, yeah.

We got to get that guy on the

take.

I mean, there's a couple easy

things that we could do here to

make a ton of money, right?

For one, the streaker.

Oh yeah.

Was there a streaker?

Yes.

Was it this same guy as last

time bet all the money on the

streaker, then he streaks or

he'd get the money.

We're.

Willing to I'm I'm willing to

bet that this man.

Had money on it, yeah.

Had had something on the line.

Money on the street.

Because you don't spend the

money to go to the Super Bowl to

get to the 50 yard line to jump

out and run for fun.

Right.

It was probably like the like

the dildo guys.

That's probably the same one.

Yeah, the guys are thrown on the

court.

Like, come on, bro.

That's the color I'm going to

bet blue all.

Sorts of things to.

Bet.

Them.

Yep.

Do they always have a camera in

the fly over planes or was that

a new thing?

Last night they showed the

pilots of the bomber.

In the military, yeah.

They have cameras in the

military plane.

Is that what?

You're saying?

Yeah, I think they've done that

before.

Do they?

Yeah, they said.

I don't watch but I did.

I'm not positive, but I think

they've done they've done that

before.

I thought that was neat.

OK, alright.

What did you guys think of the

halftime show?

I thought it was great.

Big big Bunny, angry Bunny,

Whatever.

His name is Bad Bunny.

Yeah, I, I had no idea what he

was saying, but I thought it was

neat.

I liked it.

Oh, so you watched it?

I told you I watched all these

things.

Yeah, but you didn't watch the

show.

Well, I fast forwarded through

the halftime show.

It was 13 minutes, so I made

sure I saw everybody was saying

right, but I didn't watch it

start to finish.

Yeah, I thought it was good.

I like, yeah, I had no argument

with that.

I know.

I mean, could they have put

words at the bottom so he knew

what he was saying?

I mean.

He could do.

That one of the subtitles.

Yeah, I had to see what he was

singing about.

I have no idea.

I mean, I enjoyed the show.

It'd be nice to know what he was

saying.

Oh, OK.

I, you know, I, I thought it was

good.

To be honest with you, he's

singing like number one hits in

the past two years.

Well, he's one of the biggest

Hardesty.

Bigger than the the blonde girl.

Lady Gaga.

No, no the Carrie Underwood.

No, Taylor.

Yeah, Taylor Swift.

Oh, the blonde girl.

She's on.

She's on your team, Palmer.

Yeah, dude.

I mean, I don't remember her

name.

There were some bad calls in

that play in that game.

Oh yeah, it was crazy that there

was only the first penalty was

like what, third quarter?

Not end of the game yet.

Everybody relax.

Oh, OK.

You guys could talk about the

bad.

I knew you there was going to be

bad place.

There's always bad.

The Bad Bunny was good.

Yeah, I thought that the the

halftime show was fine.

Did you watch any of the

alternate halftime show at all?

No, I'm not getting up and

changing the channel.

Yeah, me either.

Do you not have a remote?

I'm not, I'm not moving.

I'm not, I'm, I'm a thumb

Princess.

I'm not doing it.

Yeah.

This thing stays intact, you

know.

You couldn't have yelled at one

of the children?

I'm in.

I didn't change the channel.

No, there's no, I'm not going.

No, I'm not doing it.

However, I do like the fact that

there is like a, a, like a, a

counter.

You know, whether it's political

or not, I think that there

should always be like another

option.

An option?

Yeah, like so if you chose to.

Yeah, if I wanted to watch the

other artist, I could.

It's not a bad idea.

I think that that's fine.

Run it up against them at all

times.

I think I got good enough

ratings where they'll probably

do it again.

Really.

Yeah, I think that that that's

good.

Yeah, that's good.

But I don't, you know, like I

don't want the politics in it.

I just want, I just want other

artist options.

You know, the off halftime show

to be on the table.

Yeah, I mean, first of all, the

Super Bowl halftime show is for

an artist that is usually, you

know, a big time artist, right?

And that's some more exposure

for him stuff.

I think having the other show is

kind of like, man, he kind of

like watered this guy down like

everybody did.

Well, that's the strategy, yeah.

That's the whole intention of

that, is to take away from the

views.

That's why they do it.

That's messed up.

Of course you got to love that.

It's a good strategy.

All eyes are pinned at this.

How do we get some of those

eyes?

Like that's marketing.

They they maybe they shouldn't

have done all white people on

the alternate.

One I didn't watch all white.

People.

Was it all white people?

It was it was like Kid Rock,

Jelly roll, some country girl.

I don't, I don't remember who it

was.

Yeah.

And there was another white guy.

Taylor Swift.

No, it wasn't Taylor Swift, the

blonde.

The blonde, the brunette, the

redhead.

No.

So you watched both?

No, I didn't.

I just saw it on Facebook.

I saw the lineup, the four

lineup.

That was it.

I strategically made it so that

both sides hate me.

After saying that all the.

Things I do right, just for the

record.

You have offended both sides.

Good gradually.

I've, I've, I've upset everyone

at this point, but I thought, I

thought the halftime performance

was great.

I thought the Bad Bunny thing, I

thought it was good.

I enjoyed it.

All those trees were people.

Yeah, I saw on on bar stools,

they all kind of came waddling

out.

That was pretty smart.

How do you get something done

fast?

Put people.

In, you know, just make them all

people.

What else?

What was?

What's your favorite halftime

show so far out of all the years

that you've seen?

The one with Dre was in it.

Who?

Doctor Dre.

So that was just a few years

ago.

Yeah, that wasn't I I mean, I

saw that one.

Dre.

Really.

OK, Yeah, that was a big deal.

All right.

All right, commercials.

What about you?

What was your favorite halftime

show?

I don't watch it every year, so

I can't tell you I.

Mean this is the first halftime

show you've ever seen.

No, he said he watched the

Doctor Dre one.

I watched the Doctor Dre one

too.

OK, other than that I can't

think of.

One so OK did.

You shoot Shakira.

Justin Timberlake, because they

showed what?

Their name's Boo?

I don't know.

That's a fair statement.

I'm not going to lie if you say

that, I'm OK with that.

No, I wouldn't it.

I don't.

I don't.

They showed a clip of 1.

I can't remember who the guy

was.

He was a country singer.

Chris Stableton.

He didn't do halftime.

I don't know, I don't know.

I don't remember it was they

showed one this morning as a

when I found this one on YouTube

they showed a country western as

a equivalent or a compare or

something.

I don't remember who it was

though.

Might have been Travis Tritt.

Might.

Have been?

Dang, you talking about old?

Yeah, that was old.

That was old.

Not a lot of special, not a lot

of special effects in that one

it.

Was that Super Bowl too?

Might have been, might have

been.

I mean, there've been a lot of

stars that have done halftime

shows.

Yeah, yeah, it's a big deal to

get asked.

Yeah, I think the Prince 1 is

probably the best one.

Oh yeah.

OK.

Well, go ahead and continue now,

all right?

With whatever the commercials,

now we talk about the

commercials, OK.

Because he watched those.

No.

Well, I watched some this

morning.

I didn't.

How can I flip over and not

watch the the the show but just

watch the commercials?

As soon as the football comes

back on, you're like, oh God,

change it.

Change it.

Oh, oh, change it.

The top ten funniest ones I

didn't think were were that

funny.

The ones.

But that's just somebody's

choice, though.

OK.

So I like the William Shatner

one I.

Didn't see it.

It was for Raisin Bran, but he

called himself William Shat

because he it was all about

fiber.

And.

Then it was a Shih Tzu dog.

And he goes, that dog, a Shih

Tzu.

It's very.

That's good, OK.

The Shih Tzu, the tight end

commercial, was the best one.

That was funny too.

Yeah, I saw that one this

morning.

The Kendall Kardashian one was

funny.

Did you see that one?

I feel like I missed that one

too.

It was for a betting app and

there's a Kardashian curse

because every player that she

has ever dated, he's lost.

Oh, really?

So she does it on purpose

because, and then she would go

like this car, this was from

boyfriend #2 right?

This airplane was boyfriend #3

and somebody asks her if she's

betting somebody else.

She goes, well, I do need a

yacht.

Got it.

Funny.

And then she goes, it's a

Kardashian Kirch.

My name is not even Kardashian.

Wow.

And she's Jenner.

Right, right.

Wow, I thought.

That one was funny making fun of

itself.

I like the self deprecating ones

right?

Right.

The one with the oh crap I can't

think of his name.

Ben Affleck.

No, that one was actually was

OK.

Yeah, I think that was my

favorite one.

That one wasn't bad at all, but

I thought they were gonna did

they were they gonna show the

video on the tape?

Did that happen later in the

game?

No.

OK, so I don't know how that

happened then I feel.

Like I didn't see any of these

commercials.

You didn't see the Dunkin'

Donuts one with Ben Affleck.

I had everybody in it.

No, I didn't.

Oh, I don't know what to tell

you.

I was there.

I watched.

Did you watch commercials?

Is that when you got up to go

get snacks and maybe?

Feeding time?

No, it was feeding time.

Crap, I can't think of his name.

Oh well, not important.

I guess not.

The Budweiser commercial was

pretty good, yeah.

It was OK.

You didn't like it with the

eagle?

Oh the Eagle 1?

I like that one.

I thought you meant the Bud

Light one where they all rolled

down the hill.

No, the Eagle.

Peyton Manning was in it with

the baby horse.

Yeah, that one was nice.

I like.

That one, Yeah, the Lay's one.

The Lay's potato chip one.

Oh, that, that was cool.

But the way they did it.

Yeah.

But who's the blonde?

She was somebody famous.

Who's the blonde on what

commercial?

The Pringles.

Oh, that was the that was I did.

I was talking with the Lay's

potato chip.

Oh.

I was thinking Pringles.

There's the the Pringles.

They come in a tube.

Right, but they she built the

Pringles boyfriend.

Yeah.

I have no idea, but the Lays 1

was like a, you know, passed

down to generation to generation

potatoes.

And that, that's what Lays does.

Yeah, it was lovely.

Ben, Ben Stiller.

That's the one.

I think that one was terrible.

Yeah.

Shot like an old Timey

commercial.

Yeah, Yeah, that one was stupid,

all right.

I didn't like that one at all.

They said that you notice how

there was a lot of Lays

commercials?

Yeah, they said.

Well, my source, not sure how

reliable, but he has not been

wrong before, right when he's

told me things.

Robbie Doyle.

He analyzed news, where he was

going.

Yeah, so he he said.

Definitely been wrong before,

but anyways, continue.

So he said that he knows like a

couple of the people that own

farms that do it for Lays.

Yeah, he said that they're

losing a lot of money, so that's

why they're advertising a lot.

What?

Do you mean they're losing a lot

of?

Money because he said, he said

that there was some types of

type of statistic from Lays that

people that are in Ozempic, 16%

of them never touch a potato

chip again.

I'm like, wait a second, how

long has this study been going

on for 'cause I feel like

Ozempic's only been around for a

little bit.

So people are, people are eating

healthier.

So we're like, wow, this is a

big problem.

This is a big.

Place for Lays, that's a big

problem, yeah.

Nobody's eating our our carbs.

Really need to advertise OK.

Well, they got to eat them on

Mondays.

That's Carb Day.

Yeah, and now it comes in a

pill.

That commercial was on the Super

Bowl.

I don't know how how effective

that that's going to be in a

pill.

I'd like to find out though.

Would you?

Yeah.

You would take it.

Yeah, if it was good, but I need

at least like 10 years.

You want to do the shot.

Yeah, why don't you do?

The shot, I'm good.

Why?

Wouldn't you do the shot?

You don't like shots?

Well, get your wife to give it

to you.

I don't.

I don't like shots.

It doesn't matter who's giving

it to me.

I don't think anybody likes

shots.

And nobody.

Yes, I take the pill.

Nobody's like, hey, I'm looking

forward to the shot.

Right.

Hey, there's a shot here.

Or there's a pill here.

Which one do you want?

Right, Alice in Wonderland's

Going with the Pill.

What if the shot the shots got

to be faster?

Shots got to be more effective.

I don't know, right?

Because you know it doesn't have

to dilute through your digestive

system.

Correct.

See.

Look, he's a doctor.

And he's just I like gave.

Herself, the shots when she did

it, yeah.

Yeah, I'm not doing a shot.

OK, she gives herself AB vitamin

shot in the stomach every

Saturday or whatever, however

often it is.

Dear God.

OK, dear God.

All right.

So moving on, what else you got?

All right, now you guys talk

about the game.

Oh wow, what do you want?

To say about that, there's no

point like you have no points

over there.

No, I didn't want to watch the

game to get points.

What?

Do you want to say about the

game the the paths look

terrible?

I mean, look, let's be honest.

That's OK, let's be honest.

I do like the Pats and I really

was ruined from the wind even.

No, I'm a Dolphin fan, but

really probably should have been

Denver.

If Bo was healthy, I don't think

the Patriots would have got past

them.

Look, man, I, I don't think

that's the case.

I think that the, you know, I

think a lot of mistakes were

made online, mistakes were made,

quarterback mistakes were made,

receiver mistakes.

That was the biggest one.

Like there's a, there was a ton

of, you know, you couldn't

overcome those because they

everything went wrong for them.

So defense looked good.

Yeah, Defense Gonzalez, he

played played a really good

game.

Dude Wildman, Yeah, give that

pay that guy.

Right.

I mean, and and what's really

crazy is like, you know, you got

some good receivers on that

team, man.

And those guys just weren't

catching the ball like, well, I

don't know what Hunter Henry was

doing well.

They were throwing.

He was throwing it too fast.

You think so?

Yeah.

They weren't getting to their

spots.

So the timing was off.

Yeah, but like, here's the the

part that drives me wild or it

drives me mad, right?

I don't understand how the

commentators flat out say, and

this wouldn't have changed the

outcome of the game.

So that's not what I'm saying.

The commentators make a blatant

statement of, hey, that D was

the defense was offsides, right?

And the rest didn't see it and

they didn't call it, right?

I don't know how that's missed.

Oh, I mean even like the when

the guy punched the Patriot guy.

I don't know how that's missed.

That, I mean, it wasn't missed.

It was all over the TV.

Throw a flag.

Well, that was why they couldn't

do anything, because there was

never initially a flag thrown.

So here and again, you're at the

you're at like the top of this

sport at the highest level and

you guys still can't get this

right.

Right.

And these are the best referees.

Right there was an offsides that

was blatant for me.

I backed it up to show everybody

I'm like, that's offsides and

like, what do you mean?

Listen here, let me show you

backed it up.

You know, the right guard's

going to move before the ball

gets snapped and he takes three

steps back.

He does that thing which I can't

stand, but he got to jump on.

He got to jump on it, right?

Right.

Like oh, you mean a false start?

Yeah, I'm sorry, false start,

right?

So I'm like and there's no flag.

No, Yeah, yeah, no, there was

definitely a lot of calls

missed.

And the the craziest one was

that when the guy punched the

Patriot dude, I'm like, that is

a immediate ejection.

Like it's not even a question.

How about the guy shove digs on

the outside?

Out of bounds, yeah, there

should have been at least 2

ejections and there should have

definitely been a penalty

because if they would have got

that penalty then they would

have got another first down and

you would have another 4 downs

to play, you know.

But that didn't happen.

They had to punt right after.

That Do you think that the NFL

did not want to see New England

win?

Maybe.

Maybe.

You know what I mean.

Could have been possible?

Should I get my tinfoil hat out?

I mean, there was a lot of bets

on Patriots to win.

Where were they?

Oh yeah.

I mean, that was Drake's bet on

the Patriots money line.

Really. $1,000,000 to win 2.5.

Wow.

Right.

Well, outright.

Oh wow.

Outright, yeah, OK.

And there's some guy that's I, I

don't know his name, but I guess

he's like the one of the biggest

gamblers there is.

Robbie Doyle again.

No, not Robbie Doyle.

Not Robbie Doyle.

But he put more than that on

Patriots.

Yeah, money line.

So yeah, something happened.

Look.

Yeah, it could have been better.

I mean, this will, this is Drake

May's second year, right?

He's going to come back.

Yeah.

Yeah, this.

He's a good quarterback.

You know, it's just this is his,

he's on a big stage man as a

second year quarterback.

What is he, 22?

And and what's the one lineman

that just got mold down?

With.

Anderson or something like.

That, yeah.

The entire game.

That was a rookie, right?

Yeah, yeah.

Right, right, rookie, How?

How was your?

Book that TV show.

I watched an episode of that

last night actually.

How was your book?

I didn't read a book.

The one that you read while we

were talking.

Oh.

It was very nice.

Yeah, yeah.

Good.

OK.

I actually had a snack.

Oh, good.

All right, so.

One more thing, One more thing.

Kenneth Walker played a hell of

a game.

The running back for Seattle.

Wow, that dude can run.

Who was MVP?

Kenneth Walker.

Was he?

Yep.

OK.

I thought he saw there was a

quarterback was MVP.

Is that with that guy?

No, he talked afterwards 'cause

they wanted to hear from the

quarterback of the winning side.

Oh yeah, the ginger.

They had a Unicorn.

It does make me happy though the

the The Jets starting queue

Super Bowl champ.

Oh, I saw that too.

Yeah.

He's played on other teams, but

now he won't.

Now he's done the Super Bowl.

Yeah.

There was actually a kid.

He's one of the defensive ends

for Seattle.

He played for Mainland High

School in Daytona.

Oh, really?

Yeah, no kidding.

Yeah.

That's cool.

We should get him in on the

show.

I.

Wonder if he's available?

You'd reach out to him, Butch.

I don't know.

Well, maybe I'll, I'll ask some

people that went there.

Hey.

You want to come on the Cigar

House Podcast?

That would be awesome.

On the most famous cigar

podcast, that's how you, that's

how you do it, Yeah.

OK.

All right, let's go.

Then he goes, oh, I love two

guys.

And he goes, no, no, not that.

10 I love coop.

No, that's not that one either.

Cigar Authority.

It's great, all right. 36

assassin dolphins are missing in

the Gulf of Mexico.

OK.

Wait a second, You didn't watch

the Super Bowl, but you're going

to talk about this?

Have you wait a second?

So like before you even get into

so like the Navy has created

these dolphins that when they

they if someone goes into a

specific water, they jam you.

They like head head butt you and

kill.

Them.

Apparently they have dart guns

mounted on them.

What?

That's even better?

Military dolphins are real, but

the details are disputed.

The United States Navy has

openly acknowledged training

dolphins for decades to detect

mines, guard ships and identify

underwater threats, but it

denies claims that they are

armed dolphins.

But they are missing 36 dolphins

in the Gulf of Mexico.

That's awesome. 36 experts

investigated alleged that up to

36 train Bottlenose Dolphins

escaped during a storm from a

coastal facility was breached,

potentially carrying equipment

like marker devices and more

controversial toxic dart

mechanism.

Oh, they said this.

Oh, so they admitted it?

Yes.

OK.

Accident investigator Leo

Sheridan says sources tied to

U.S.

Marine fisheries confirmed

dolphins escaped, while the Navy

insists no dolphins were there.

36 dolphins.

There's no dolphins.

What dolphins?

What dolphins?

No dolphins there at all.

Dolphin assassins?

That sounds like a it could be a

Disney movie like a Pixar.

I don't dolphin assassin.

Yeah, where they escape like I

need to go home.

Where they can escape, right?

Yeah, but I got this thing

mounted on my back.

And then and they run around in

the ocean protecting it like

saving it from evil other

animals.

Great Free Willy 20 coming in

soon, you know.

Free Willy, but it's written in

blood.

Yeah, it is the revenge.

Revenge.

So they've been trained for

attack detection and recovery

missions since the Cold War era,

but there is no public proof

that any dolphins were armed or

hostile, or even posed a threat

to.

Civilians under no lasers.

Under the lasers?

That's on the sharks.

Oh, come on.

We have trained sharks too.

No, just dolphins.

I would love some trained

sharks.

Dolphins are easier to train.

Yeah, isn't that what was in the

awesome powers?

Sharks with lasers.

Sharks with the yeah, sharks

with lasers, correct?

Yes.

Sharks with freaking laser beams

on their head.

All right, public service goes

way too far.

A Maryland paramedic busted for

peeing on the job.

OK, it's not that he peed.

It's where he peed.

Oh, can't wait to hear this must

be another R Kelly.

He's.

Facing 23 criminal charges after

investigators say deliberately

contaminated food, drinks and

workplace services with urine.

Oh, he was angry.

Wow.

Some of it allegedly filmed when

he was on duty and in uniform.

Wow, they have surveillance.

This is a bad look.

There's peeing everywhere.

OK, So what happened?

Prosecutors claim the bodily

fluids were left in places,

including a refrigerator.

Just tell me in the chili, the

coffee Creamer, the ice machine,

the orange juice soap dispenser,

somebody's chapstick.

That's a lot of piss.

Even a Firehouse Ice.

Scoop.

Oh.

He peed at the Firehouse.

Yes, he was on duty and got

pissed off at somebody and just

started peeing on everything.

I thought he was on a bus

driver.

Oh.

Look, Chapstick, here we go.

Poo.

He's a paramedic.

He's a paramedic.

How did you pee a little bit and

then hold it for that long to

get like?

The Creamer out water on shift

and eat every time he had to pee

you in.

Who knows?

He pissed on everything.

Pissed on everything.

Yeah, he was he retiring.

No, no, the picture, he was, you

know, 30 something year old guy

he looked like.

Yeah, he was angry.

Was it a Deltona firefighter?

No.

It was Maryland, Maryland.

He.

Doesn't listen.

No, I didn't.

So authorities allege he

recorded and distributed the

acts online, attempting to

profit by selling the videos on

subscription platforms.

He's just doing.

It to make money.

Don't you read this beforehand

that?

Was.

Funnier, but we talked about

this that you're going to read

it beforehand so we could have a

normal conversation.

Part of it.

I didn't read that part.

But like you've now, you've

rattled off 30 minutes and stuff

and we haven't had like our back

and forth normal conversation

that we've been talking.

We've been talking the whole

goddamn time.

Just about sports.

You didn't talk about the

Dolphins hardly at all, except

you want lasers.

You did impersonations.

Dude.

I read the dolphin story.

OK.

Are you mad 'cause there was

football yesterday?

Yeah.

I don't know what's the problem.

That was easy.

Football ate up 30 minutes worth

of stuff.

Like, hey, this, you know, I

even complimented him on the

last show.

I said, Ed, you did a great job.

The way that you handled it,

like the whole back and forth,

the way that the conversation

just kind of flowed.

And he's like, thanks so much.

I'm going to go back to reading

the fucking teleprompter.

Yeah, I told him how nice this

shirt was.

When I came down with.

He didn't say anything.

All these I.

Didn't say anything about the

shirt.

Wow.

Andy's deaf.

All these, all these nice

things.

It's like, it's like I'm talking

to my kid.

I can compliment him on

something like perfect.

Now I'm gonna go mess this up.

I'm gonna go bash the hell out

of this.

Unbelievable.

Right.

So did you read the next article

or no?

Are you gonna now?

We're getting the cigar news.

Oh, we're just right along here,

Tara.

You know what?

I mean, if you guys don't want

to talk about the guy peeing on

stuff anymore, that was the last

story because the football ate

up so much.

Oh, I mean, if we had the

ability to have like a

conversation with you.

What would you like to know,

Michael?

Well, I that's it.

I guess because you just read it

out loud.

I'm.

Going to be honest Palmer, I

said nothing bad about you, so

if you decide to pee on

everything here, I don't want to

be any of my stuff.

Leave the mask alone.

I peed on your microphone.

I'm.

Sorry.

Don't ring that foam cover out,

just stay away from that as far

as.

Possible.

We'll get into the cigar news.

All right, a major leadership

change has happened at cigar

retail.

Sarah Santos, VP of online

retail for Sgt., is now in

charge of Cigars International.

So she's, but she's, so she's in

the organization, but she moved

to retail.

Correct.

Well, she was in charge of.

She was.

Hold on.

She was in charge of.

Online retail for Scandinavian

Tobacco and now she's in charge

of Cigars International.

OK, so I don't know if this is

considered a lateral move.

I don't know either.

I mean, were they not happy with

whoever was running it before?

I think the guy quit or

something.

It was an opening created and

they had to fill it.

They fueled the growth more than

likely, Yeah, growth was fueled.

You know Justin Andrews, they

say he's going to start

answering on Mondays.

He did start.

He did talk about that he was

happy with the halftime show.

I don't know why I can't talk

today now.

Yeah, yeah, something's going.

On the guy currently had the

job, retired after 20 years.

Oh, OK.

So he left, created an opening

and moved this this lady into

it.

She looks rather young too from

the photo.

She's been there since 2003.

OK, she's been there for 22.

Years, so she's at least in her

40s.

Well, she she looks good for her

40s.

OK.

All right.

Well, that's exciting.

All right, what else you got?

There's nothing else from that.

I mean, story.

Oh, he's getting.

Look at look at how angry he's.

No, I got to Fast forward

through the information.

You guys don't want to talk

about this?

Either OK, Justin Andrews, great

job.

You guys see the video that

Jonathan Drew did last week?

No, but this is interesting

because he he did say, I saw the

video of hey, stay tuned for

this, right it's.

Going to be a major

announcement, Yeah, tomorrow,

actually.

OK, Oh, it hasn't happened.

Yet no, it's on the 10th.

OK.

Yeah.

So that's interesting.

What do you think he's going to

say?

I don't know, he was smoking an

Opus X in the conversation,

which was weird.

Oh, I didn't even notice that.

Yeah, of.

Course, I know I pay attention

to that.

I'm like.

We're in California now.

I hang out with a retired Drew,

a State employee on Friday

night.

Yeah, he thinks maybe Jonathan

is stepping down.

And that's why he's making the

announcement.

Yeah, he's going to move into

more of the liquor end of it and

less than cigars.

Is he still doing the liquor?

Yeah, but it's not as forward as

it was before.

So he's still dabbling, right?

But they think he's going to

move into that completely,

right?

Interesting.

And then maybe bring Pedro up.

Is the head guy.

Yeah, This show is going to be

bananas.

Right, exactly.

That's sort of what I said when

the guy told me I'd go.

I know him and that good stuff,

but is he in like the business

he already?

Running.

Yeah, yeah.

Is he?

But he's originally from

Nicaragua, right?

Yeah, well, and there's one

other guy who still lives in

Nicaragua because Pedro doesn't

live in Nicaragua.

There's still another guy that

actually lives down there full

time.

Yeah, I thought it was weird

that he was smoking an opus.

Like if I got to make an

announcement.

Unless he's buying Fuente, you

know?

Wow.

You know, we have mentioned

before that Fuente really has no

way to turn the company over to.

You know you know the daughter,

but because like.

He's bringing his son in, but

the son's like, I don't want to.

Why wouldn't you be smoking a

Liga like if I had an important?

Something of yours?

Yeah, I'd be smoking a postagna,

you know.

Yeah, unless, unless it's that.

I mean, that would be crazy.

Swisher is acquired.

Fuente.

I don't know.

That sounds like a lot, but I

mean, here's what's interesting.

You think they could buy them?

Yeah.

Well, Swisher could, yeah.

Yeah, I don't know.

I'm just, I'm shooting this out

of left field, dude.

I have no idea.

But you know.

It's all speculation.

I realistically, if you're

worried about any type of

turmoil and you want to hedge

your bet like they already

started kind of making cigars in

the Dominican, why not go and

acquire the the big dog in the

Dominican Republic?

By their factory, Yeah, I.

Mean he was smoking an opus.

I don't, I don't know.

He's got a man bun now too.

Yeah, You like that?

No, you don't find that?

No, I don't.

Like the man.

Bun probably got a Macau when he

was in Macau.

Oh yeah.

Yeah, and Macau making

sandwiches.

Yeah, I'm going to buy a

company.

Yeah, so 1, so, so, so the

current speculation is you could

be stepping down.

Correct.

That's a rumor started by a

retired employee.

Or or there's a possible merger?

That's my guess.

Merger or an outright purchase?

Acquisition, yeah.

What would STG have to or not

STG?

It's Swisher.

What would they have to pay to

acquire?

A ton of money, yeah.

You think so, huh?

That would be a yeah.

A bunch of Cameroon we're going

to use now.

I hear they're looking for

Cameroon rappers.

I don't know man, that's what I

would guess.

Why smoke the Opus?

Yeah, but I mean, everybody

probably didn't catch it.

I did.

Well, I know you did.

You know.

But I mean, the couple people

I've spoken to, nobody mentioned

that at all.

You guys get caught up in his

eyes.

You're locked.

The glasses are are very

distracting.

You get locked in.

I'm like.

The glasses in the man button

were very distracting.

It's odd I was from here up.

Apparently I should have been

from here down.

Right, right.

I mean, he's not a big cigar

smoker.

No, you don't see him smoking

often, right?

Pcas and stuff.

I don't think I've ever seen

him.

Smoking.

So the first thing I'm saying,

like, whoa, the guy's smoking a

cigar.

Like what's going on with that?

And then I'm like, what?

I'm like an opus.

Why?

Why are we having a?

Why are we having an opus?

Why are we having an opus?

And he's going to drop it

before, right before PCA, the

news.

Like several months, man.

Now Drew State's going to own

half of the floor at PCA.

What is PCA?

It's in April.

Yeah, but like April, what I.

Don't know off the top of my

head because Charlie's not

posting it on his stories and.

Just he's got with the head.

Charlie, we need you.

I need you to put it on every

single story.

Come on, half wheel.

Over and over and over.

Come on, half wheel, OK.

They've there's been stories

that Oh no, you verify that one

was on there, but it was just

later.

All right, a vowed that we

talked about last week.

A vowed.

Yes, coming out with another new

cigar they are.

Yes they are on the the program

where you send several little

press releases instead of 1 big

one.

Smart.

Yes, it seems to be working for

people multiple marketing.

They are making an anniversary

cigar for their one year

anniversary.

So they're just starting right

out of the beginning.

One year, another cigar.

Eventually it'll be like Room

One O 1 every year they'll be an

anniversary cigar.

I think that's smart.

I think that's smart.

You know, that's the one that's

on our on my radar about.

Yeah, it's what you had

mentioned the other day.

This one is called the Hallowed

Hands.

The hallowed hands it's.

Going to be a regular production

core line item.

OK.

But they're making releasing it

in honor of their first year.

Yes.

So I guess next year it's not an

anniversary cigar.

It's just they're going to be

there.

Right, right.

It's just there now.

It's an Ecuadorian Corojo

wrapper and the company's first

box press see.

Oh, they don't mention anything

else.

That's it.

Not size, not nothing box count.

Well, they say they originally

blended it to be Corona Gorda,

but then they have robusto in

parentheses.

So a little confusing.

It's coming out on the 13th.

Have you ever had a code?

You said Kuroho, right?

Yeah.

Kuroho Box press.

I don't think I've ever seen

one.

You sure?

Maybe I'm wrong.

I would say you're wrong.

I'd say you're wrong too.

Yeah, there's a lot of them.

The regular.

Used.

Tobacco, No, that's San Andreas.

Well, but for one, Tatuahi uses

a lot of corojo and Cenizafina

uses.

Corojo, they have a whole line

called the Corojo line.

Yeah, You had any of those?

Not the box.

Press 1.

OK, Hey, was it Cenzafina

anywhere in Santa Clara?

Because they're like Big 49er

fans, right?

Are we talking about the?

San Francisco, yeah.

We're talking about San

Francisco, right?

In Santa Clara, you said?

Santa Clara.

Oh, I'm sorry, I don't know why

I said Santa Clara.

I don't know either in San

Francisco.

I don't think they were there.

I said San Francisco before

though, right?

They're in Arizona.

I.

Don't know what's going on

today.

Something going on there please.

Oh, have.

You red lighted, are you OK over

there?

No, I had to wake up extra early

to work this morning so I don't

normally do that.

I was.

Super Bowl Sunday, so.

I asked you early.

He means 8:00.

You're fatigued.

Yeah, I am fatigued.

You wake up at 9:00 AM like.

Terrible.

Usually 10.

I didn't get deep my pop.

Tart, the sun came up.

I like how Opus X calls him the

older gentleman when they refer

to him because of his voice is

so deep.

Opus X no Opus clips, sorry.

Opus Clips refers to him as.

He Holy moly, guys.

This is what I'm saying.

There's something going on

there.

There's.

Something going on?

Is there a beak in this room or

something?

You want to know what it is, is

that you know you guys are hung

out late and that's not what

you're used to, and now here you

are.

I didn't know you were Palmer.

Yeah.

We didn't get out late for Super

Bowl I.

Didn't watch the Super Bowl?

I watched the Super.

Bowl what time did you?

Go to bed well I tell my wife is

house sitting so it was 11 but I

fell asleep in the chair twice

so.

OK, so you were, so you were up

late?

I'm normally up.

I'm normally up till 11 and

falling asleep in the chair and

then wake up a few more minutes,

watch something and then fall

asleep again.

He was practicing for today.

Oh, OK.

He was running around his house

peeing on everything.

So yeah, that's.

Right.

Don't you get home.

Leave me alone.

Don't look at the footage from

the Ring camera.

Hey, you said toothbrush.

Why didn't?

You use that toothbrush.

I got you a new one.

Dear God.

She took the other one with her.

SO don't eat the chili.

Don't eat the chili.

Oh, God.

All right, Supreme Leaf Toro 109

is shipping.

They're calling it 109 because

it's the 109th time they've used

the term Supreme Leaf.

It's a 109 Bellicoso.

Is that what it is?

Why is it 109?

Because.

It's slightly rounded, it's not

sharp. 01/09 is a size.

Yes, we've had this conversation

several times.

Did you not watch the Terrence

Riley clip?

Do you not live any of this?

I mean no.

But this is a Toro.

Today, it's just a rough day.

It's definitely Monday.

It's a 109.

Yeah, it's a Toro size with a

rounded.

I thought you just said the

different.

Size, it's actually a little

slightly smaller gauge, right?

It's usually like a 50 or 48.

Yeah, this is a.

This is a real size.

It's a 109.

Yeah, this isn't like a made-up

size that someone will do.

Well, it's going to be released

tomorrow.

OK?

Are we getting it?

I would assume so.

Oh oh it's a one O 9 style cap,

that's what you meant?

Correct.

I gotcha.

It's a hybrid parejo and

Bellicoso.

OK, it's a 6 by 52.

OK, there you go.

So 52 is a little a little big,

but OK.

Yeah, alright.

That should be good.

Should be a good cigar.

Alright, guess the price?

Freedom Dollars because it's an

American company.

Phil.

A supreme wave?

Yep.

I think they're normally what,

like 16-18?

Somewhere around there I'll go

17.

I'm going to say 18. 1399, yeah.

It went the wrong way.

Wow, they're they're pretty

cheap for.

Affordable guys, The term is

affordable.

Oh, affordable, cheap, sounds

great because it sounds like

everyone's going to buy them.

Cheap doesn't sound great.

It's cheap by today.

Less expensive.

Cheap sounds like devalued.

He's right, all right.

Now it's time for the industry's

favorite game.

What's the score?

My favorite part of the show

because I can read from the

teleprompter, Yeah.

Here we go.

What's the difference between

that in the last 45 minutes?

Because you're not going to yell

at me for reading at the.

Teleprompter you're.

Right, yeah, this cigars from

April 19th, 2023, reviewed by

Charlie Minato.

It's a Dominican Republic LFD.

It is the Special Football

Edition 2023.

OK, do I go first You.

Guys have the Super Bowl. 84.

I'm gonna go to 90 on this, OK?

LFD special football 2023 from

the Dominican Republic factory

tabla Calera lafleur SA rapper

Ecuador habano binder Dominican

Republic filler Dominican

Republic length 5 5/8 by 54 to

perfecto and they smoked 3.

They're little footballs.

They have little footballs on

them 84. 90 all.

Right clue number one.

It's nice to see a smaller ring

gauge in a line that usually

pushes 58 to 60.

Plus the size feels more

approachable and compared to the

2016 version with the same

dimension, the improvement is

craftsmanship is noticeable.

The detail work looks sharper

and more fine, showing how much

the rollers have elevated their

execution over time.

We have gotten better at making

the footballs 84. 90.

OK.

Clue #2 construction is a clear

strength, overall burn

performance is solid, ash

formation is impressive, and the

draw remains consistent for most

of the experience.

While a couple of cigars needed

Meyer touch ups, the overall

build quality stands out.

The retro hail in particular

adds complexity, layering earth,

pepper, fruit and mineral notes

in a more intertwined way than

the main profile. 85 you.

Want to up 1?

Yes. 90.

I like when he thinks he has to

go.

You ever noticed that?

He's got to Rev it up.

He's got.

To get it going, he's got to.

Wake up the hamster in there

clue #3 The profile can lean dry

at times, especially in the 1st

and 2nd 3rd.

Some flavors, like damp

earthiness and the stale bottled

water note may not appear to

everyone, and a few puffs

develop a slight harsh edge.

One cigar also had a burn issue

in the final third, which

slightly detracted from an

otherwise strong construction

showing.

Staled bottled water.

His, it's very specific.

Incredible.

But can you picture the flavor

though?

I can.

Yeah, I can too.

It's weird.

His writing style is exactly

this.

Dude that is wild.

Wild.

That is incredible.

Only would have been better if

you went in particular brand of

yeah, yeah.

Nestle, right?

Zephyrhills stale ball.

What's the one nobody likes

sitting in the?

He's definitely.

Dasani Water.

No, Charlie looks like a Dollar

General water guy.

You don't know Charlie.

Yeah, he's a.

Little bougie to me.

Well, if he's so bougie, why is

his water still?

Cashmere.

Well, because he picked it up

thinking it was a new bottle.

'Cause he got it in a pinch.

It was in the back seat of the

car and he was thirsty.

Yeah.

You've never done that.

You get in the car, you're like,

boy, I'm thirsty and there's a

bottle of water.

Even if it's hot, you drink it.

No, I take my Stanley

everywhere.

Yeah, you're just a better man

than both of us.

You used to take the Stanley

everywhere too, what are you

talking about?

I know, I just.

But he puts Peach tea in his.

Yeah, it's meal.

It's fruit punch meal.

Mikey put oh, I like the fruit

punch one.

Yeah, yeah.

I think I'm going to stick it

85.

I don't even remember what he

said, so I'm staying 90.

Stillwater.

Oh yeah.

But you wouldn't know no

construction problem because a

man of your stature you've never

tasted.

Yeah, you don't know what

stalewater tastes like, right?

I bet his wife has.

If this thing rates over 90,

this.

He likes stalewater.

Like what?

Yeah.

Because.

Because she's out grinding.

Yeah, she don't.

Work Tia drinks like 20 bottles

of water a day.

Friday morning she comes out

with these armful of stuff,

putting stuff in her car.

Yeah, he's still home asleep.

Yeah, he's still in bed. 10 AM

and.

I mean, it was 815 so.

Like it's just beautiful.

You didn't ask me.

There was a video.

I had one.

Oh, I'm sorry.

So unorganized.

You were yelling at me right

then.

I just went into the cigars

trying to get this over with.

I have a video and I'm going to

send it to you after this one.

Between the two, can we just do

it at the end?

No, so much easier to find that

way.

No pain is, I'm going to edit

and put it at the end.

That's going to be more time.

Yeah, but it's easier to find.

OK, Did he vote?

Yeah, it said 90.

On the stale water still, yeah.

Oh wow.

Well I can't say I've had a bad

LFD Dominicana Special football

edition.

It's a series I think of more

for gimmicks and tie insurance

than I do for taste of the

cigars.

This release seems to be the

mildest one I've smoked, and

it's probably my favorite.

Oh, there's a lot of flavors,

not all great, that continue to

change in minor ways, puff to

puff, and in major ways, inch to

inch.

Stale water is my.

Favorite type of profile might

not be what most people think of

when they think of LFD.

It's another example of the

company's ability to produce a

great medium bodied and medium

strength cigar.

The score is hurt slightly due

to some construction issues and

multiple cigars, but the flavor

is as good as any in the series.

Damn, apparently he likes stale

water.

Stale bottled water 87. 90. 89

boots gets it.

Yeah, baby.

By 1 he gets it to buy one.

God, this guy was described.

As you have a video.

You know what?

I just don't happen to have a

video.

Oh.

Actually, let's watch the video.

When you play it, don't.

Play the audio.

Don't.

Play the audio.

Was that bad words?

No, it's just it's got some

background music.

Oh.

And.

So when I put it in.

Make sure it doesn't have.

It's from, I think it's like a

Mission Impossible thing.

I hate that the there you go.

It's great.

It's more for Phil than it is

for you.

He's saying no, don't.

So is there don't you don't need

the audio to understand the

video?

Yeah, OK.

There it is.

Don't.

Point of view.

I know this movie.

I know this movie.

Seattle defense showing blitz in

the fourth quarter.

I feel you needed audio.

You don't, all right?

He's getting hammered, dude.

Yeah.

Well, Palmer didn't watch the.

The game?

Yeah, there was this game last

night.

Oh yeah, it was a it was a

football game.

Football is the biggest one of

the.

Year.

The one that's like the LFD

cigar.

Yeah.

Oh.

Exactly.

Gotcha.

I got to tell you this.

Is a 109.

This yeah, it's a 109 shape

thing.

This is a year that I probably

watched the least amount of

football and I think that it's a

trend that's going to continue.

I feel like every year I'm going

to be watching less.

And less and less, yeah.

Yeah, the.

To where you become a baseball

fan.

No, I just think the quality of

the product is really

diminished.

There's there's bad calls,

there's just, yeah, I'm not, I'm

not about it.

It seems it's messy.

It's too messy.

There's always bad calls in any

sport.

Well, yeah, but I just, no, I I

totally understand that.

But like blatant calls that we

just talked about that weren't

called.

I mean, come on man, what are we

doing?

Like you got to bring it

somewhere.

Give me that fine line.

I don't need a penalty every

play because then it's not

enjoyable.

But like some blatant stuff

should be called, especially in

the Super.

Bowl.

That's a technical foul.

So OK, next one.

All right, May 31st, 2012.

Charlie Minato.

Also it's ACAO cigar from

Nicaragua, The Cao Odyssey.

Phil.

Cao we go 82. 86.

Country of origin Nicaragua

Factory tablet Calera Perdomo

Ecuadorian Rosado rapper

Undisclosed binder Habano filler

6 Cuban seed fillers.

No specific information.

So 6 1/4 by 55.

It's a perfecto $13.50.

This is not a redux, but they

only smoked one. $13 back in

2012.

Little man put that in my hand

if that money doesn't show the

owe.

Box of 10 for $135.

Phil The Cigar was released in

2000.

I just found it.

Box of 10.

Yeah.

Paul was trying to throw me off

82. 85.

Clue #1.

Oh, you went down.

The Ecuadoran risotto rapper

presents a rich, dark leather

hue that gives a cigar an

attractive, mature look.

Pre light aromas offer aged

leather, sweet cocoa and much oh

mocha note sorry, creating a

full and inviting introduction.

The cold draw adds another layer

of interest, with fruity citrus,

wheat, coffee, earth and a touch

of sweetness delivering a smooth

and flavourable start before

ignition.

OK, well, he likes fruity,

Fruity 82. 85 I also forgot to

make the mark.

The comments that I normally do

at TX Southpaw on today's show

or yesterday's show said just

add a Segundo's patch to the

beanies and send it.

That's a whole nother patch.

I can't get one.

Can't get one on you.

Won 2 now.

And then on, oh, that was

actually on a couple episodes

ago, on the most recent episode,

our dear friend Mark Palmer

said, Have you ever heard of

Gamblers Anonymous?

Oh, is he directing that to me?

I would assume so.

Yeah, I would assume it.

Was you?

No.

OK.

And then I have from from our

good friend Ben Roland.

Ben who?

Went and visited you and.

Then Sarah came Friday night.

Yep, they made the trek.

Gas station corn dogs are fire.

You know, no wait, I got one at

racetrack when I stopped to get

gas.

A corn dog.

I got a corn dog.

It wasn't any good.

I think it had been there too

long.

They need to put, you know,

timers on them or something.

I could see that.

I don't think I've had a corn

dog since middle school or

elementary.

I love corn dogs, but this the

corn on the dog was not much

bigger than the dog.

You know, normally they're, you

know, a little, a little big on

the size, you know, no, it was

just like a, a fine.

How big was it?

Big enough boots you would have

liked it.

Your hand was in the shot too.

Get it, get it done.

Yeah, but we're not homophobic.

You.

Are I don't know, it's just

crazy though I.

Think he's got all excited?

Because no, I did not get

excited.

How much was it?

How big was it?

It was this big.

Huge.

That's two inches.

That big around boots is just

full size.

And he has no gag reflex.

No, Palmer definitely has a gag

of reflex.

I do have a gag of reflex but

you bite it off though so it's

OK.

Yeah, yeah, on the on my

Patriots clip that I made, I

heard I got a from at Dreor.

Go Hawks.

What happened?

Bro?

It's OK.

You can still take this down

before too many people see it.

I saw that.

And no, I will not be taking it

down.

In fact, he just read it.

Go Hawks, Seahawks.

Seahawks.

Seahawks.

Why do they show on the name of?

I don't know, it's like.

Atlanta Hawks less words to

type.

Yeah, maybe he can't spell C He

gets confused.

Right.

Yeah, C hyphen.

S EE or CE maybe like, you know,

like it's Spanish.

And this is the one I really

wanted to get to.

Is C Well hold on a SEC.

Is C in Spanish spelled How?

I don't know CICEI.

I'm not Spanish, it's SI, but

that was great.

That was done too, not

homophonic and not Spanish.

So that's probably why he didn't

watch the Bad Money halftime

show.

At Stephen Wells 6945, my final

one for yesterday's episode

wrote Boots fills.

Boots fills slash Steve slash

the Jester.

Whatever his name is today,

please have him stop using the

name Money makers.

It is a great alliteration but

very misleading.

He would be more accurate just

to call him an astrophysicist.

Steven, I will use your story

tomorrow.

It wasn't appropriate for

today's show.

He sent me a story.

Oh OK, Second person sent me the

same story so I have to use it.

Gotcha.

OK.

Did you pick your number?

82.

You pick a number, I go second.

I know, but there's so much

going on out.

Of order.

I don't know where we're now.

Now I'm Yeah.

Now you got all your air time,

you're happy.

I think so.

OK, somebody's got to carry this

damn show today other than you

just reading off the screen.

What did you just do?

I read off a screen.

There you go.

Exactly.

From a comment.

And you messed up when you read

it so.

How did I mess up?

You said some of the things

wrong.

You stuttered on a couple of

things.

What?

Did I stutter on?

I'm staying out of this one with

you too.

Did I stutter, Phil?

Yeah, I'm dying.

This.

Phil, what did I stutter on?

Tell me.

I didn't hear any stuttering.

Me neither.

Yeah, but he's not.

He's not confirming or denying.

I mean, you can tell me if

there's something I missed or I

messed up.

I want to work on it to be

better.

Why do I have to be the middle

ground?

Here I'm OK with it 'cause I'm

OK 'cause I respect your

criticism.

His is just bad.

This is just mean.

Why?

Why did Ziggy just get out of a

van?

Just pulled up his car?

Oh, he's locked his keys in his

car.

Oh.

OK.

All right, he said. 82, I think.

I don't even know.

Is that what you said?

I said 82, he said 85 did.

I stutter when I read off the

comments.

Thank you all.

Right clue #2 Despite other

shortcomings, a cigar does show

some redeeming construction

qualities.

The dark ash forms well and

holds consistently, and while

construction overall is

described as subpar, the draw

remains consistently open and

workable throughout the smoking

experience.

Strength and body also maintain

a steady medium to medium full

presence.

Is there someone behind me?

Yes.

He's right there, isn't he?

He is.

Is this the third clue?

No.

This is the final thought.

Second clue.

It's the second clue.

Dear God, we're only on the

second clue.

Pay attention.

Dear Jesus 82. 85.

God, this has been going on.

Forever what?

I feel like this one's been

going on forever.

It has been.

Because he keeps stopping so he

can get his airtime.

Yeah, Mike.

Are you coaching any other teams

or have you made your own league

yet?

I'm I'm not going to make my

own.

League No No.

There will be another Preston

episode tomorrow.

There will.

Be.

After a promising start, the

cigar steadily declines in

complexity and clarity.

The first third quickly

simplifies and by the 2nd 3rd

the profile shifts to a generic

moist earth with pepper and

cedar.

Moist Earth.

Final third, can you just say

mud?

No.

What a jerk.

It's fine, did it on purpose.

Can you hear?

Can you hear that at all or?

Not coop stop you.

You better stop sabotaging us.

Can you hear that?

Yeah, I'm sure.

He can, right?

All right, well, we'll have to

stop real quick until it's

fixed.

I'm going to pause this.

Yeah, it's about 62.

Oh, there you go.

After a promising start, the

cigar steadily declines in

complexity and clarity.

The first third quickly

simplifies and by the 2nd 3rd

the profile shifts to a generic

moist earth with pepper and

cedar.

He should have just said mud.

Yeah, why don't you just say

mud?

Say mud.

The final third worsens further,

with an entire flavor profile

becoming indistinct and mushy in

parentheses.

Lacking definition or engaging

character, Combined with weak

smoke production and overall

aging concerns, the experience

ultimately trends downward from

start to finish.

That was the third clue.

It's mushy with moist Earth. 82.

84.

Final thought, I heard ACAO

radio spot the other day.

The basic premise was simple.

Our cigars are just cooler.

I don't think this is exactly a

new Reed general, don't know

what that means way of thinking

at Cao.

This seemed like something

that's been around for a while.

As far as the packaging goes,

Odyssey is great.

As far as a a narrative goes,

Odyssey had a decent story.

As far as the cigar, this was

bad.

I imagine this tasted a lot

better.

A few years ago there were

plenty of signs of this, but at

this point, Cao Odyssey is

unfortunately unforgettable.

Bill.

You know, this thing's probably

going to pelt like 89 or

something, I bet.

OK, so.

I'm going to go to 87.

Damn.

What do you say, 87?

Yeah, I actually think that this

cigar is going to do worse than

the number I'm gonna guess.

'Cause he really likes stale

water.

Maybe mushy earth?

No, Here's one of the here's.

I'm gonna tell you why it It was

probably an underwhelming cigar

when it came out.

And 10 years later, it lost that

underwhelming flavor and

probably tastes damn near next

to nothing.

When you can't even classify

mud, you have to give it a moist

earth profile.

And mushy.

Yeah, and mushy, like he's

saying things that aren't like

clear, distinct flavors.

Maybe he was like looking at a

Betty Crocker box of brownies.

Right.

He's not.

He's not.

And we heard pale.

We heard stale.

Water, right.

Bottled water, right?

So when he can, when, when he

can be precise about something,

I would at that point say that,

OK, it's going to go higher than

what I'm thinking, right.

And that's what happened on the

last one.

This one's going to go the other

way.

And you just kind of opened the

door for me because you just

went up to 87.

So I'm going to say 85 to

protect myself, that if it's an

86, it's a Washington.

And if it's anything lower, I

win.

No, you should just try to nail

it.

No.

Do you want me to?

You want you want me to go

lower?

I'll go lower.

I'll go lower.

I'll go lower.

I can't say anything because it

gives it away.

I'll go lower 78.

How's that?

He said, what, 87?

Yeah.

So I mean, you could really go,

oh, yeah, OK, it's 7070.

Oh.

So he won.

What were you thinking, Palmer?

He won.

No, no, I know that's going to

say, but I mean, he could.

You were so high he could go

anywhere within 19 of 70 and

still win.

Yeah, if I had picked, well, if

I had picked 86 or below, but I

protected it, I went 85.

And that would have been if

you'd have said 86.

Boom, right?

But then if you wanted me to

really base it off of my

thoughts, I thought that it

would have broken the 80

threshold, but I didn't think

it'd go all the way down to 70.

This just goes to show you there

is no method to this madness.

And yet here I am explaining to

you the method.

I get you saying and it worked,

but when he was at 70, you were,

you were probably thinking he

was probably going to be like

777980, like somewhere around

there he thought he was going to

be 70.

I felt that it was in the 70

range.

I don't know, you know, maybe I

would have got 70 on the dot.

Stale water.

He likes stale water, but he

doesn't let the money out.

Of his flavor.

I think Mikey's right because it

it's it aged to the point where

it has nothing.

Left.

Is it stale water like stale

inside of your house still?

Or is it stale with because you

didn't change the filter?

Regardless, it's a distinct

flavor profile that he got from

the cigar, whereas Moist Earth

is extremely vague and not

descriptive.

Right, so.

That shows you that even though

he wrote this 13 years ago, 14

years ago.

Feel like moist Earth's pretty

descriptive, no?

No, if he'd have said volcanic,

right, volcanic earth, volcanic

dark earth that was wet, like

something like that, that would

have been more he just said

moisture generic, generic to add

to it, right.

And also just so.

So I listened to what the

description was and then I did

my own analysis and.

Like when the entire flavor

profile becomes indistinct and

mushy, lacking definition.

So.

But yeah, he was getting

nothing.

You're just mad that Stephen

Wells called you an

astrophysicist, and that's a

compliment.

No, I didn't.

I wasn't mad at that.

This was a very long.

So many.

Words.

What's the score?

So I wore you down.

Yeah, the second one was was

very long.

When did CEO have radio ads?

You know, I don't know, think

about that 2012.

You know, more importantly, now

I know how to really discourage

him.

I'll, I'm going to throw some

stuff in in the half wheel

description and like, lose his

train of thought.

Sound like a gunshot outside.

No, Greg just dropped his wallet

upstairs.

Oh.

He's at home dying, Yeah.

Oh, he's dining again.

Anything else to add?

That's it.

On February 25th I will be at

Northport Cigars at 1:00 for a

little afternoon event.

Bang.

OK, and I will be here.

And I'll be at home sleeping.

Not up yet at 1:00, of course.

Yeah.

All right, guys, this is my

episode 465 of the These Cigars

Are Podcasts.

And just for those of you who

are curious, he's still locked

out of his car.

And like and subscribe And

thanks for watching all.

Right.

Bye bye.

Goodbye.

Show Notes

On Todays show we are all the superbowl info….then the navy lost a secret weapon!  A Maryland paramedic went all in! In cigar news we have a new portal entry!  A new cigar and Terance really turns 109….then we end the show with a big what’s the score!
