ACHP 568 Would You Volunteer?

ACHP 568 Would You Volunteer?

Episode Summary

Mike Palmer and Mike Szczepankevich are joined by show regular "Triple G" Greg (plus recurring voice Phil) for a loose, comedy-heavy episode of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast. The first stretch is housekeeping and listener mail: the ongoing build-out of the CHPod.com site and auction/swag store, shirt ideas floated by the audience (including a "Pinocchio Palmer" shirt and a tongue-in-cheek Half Wheel riff), and the running gag about the "I Heart BDP" fake commenter accounts. Listeners also weigh in on the Half Wheel review of the hosts' Sumatra — several point out the identical blend previously scored a 90, with one commenter insisting his own 91 is the score that matters.

Greg unveils a new set of Powstanie-themed travel/car ashtrays built around the brand's four insignias — the Hussar, the bear, the "P," and the War Chicken — which were meant for the store but end up as a giveaway for listeners who comment on the show that week. From there the crew runs their usual off-topic news block: a Marion County, Florida arrest after a wife allegedly set off an M80 on her sleeping husband, Idaho becoming the first state to make the firing squad its primary execution method (including the $1.2 million execution chamber and the volunteer firing squad that inspires the episode title), and Pringles' limited-run flavored hot dog buns, which sends Greg into a rant about Pringles only being 42% potato.

The cigar news segment covers JRE Tobacco Co.'s Camp Aladino 1962 Toro — a 6x52, $11 undisclosed blend available only to retailers who have visited JRE's Danlí, Honduras farms and factory for one year before wider release; Rocky Patel's teased America 250 (a 6x52 Toro marking the U.S. semiquincentennial, announced via Instagram with no details); and Hampton Cigar Manufacturing & Museum's Commander, the 50th cigar in its collection, a 5x50 mild-but-robust release priced at $10.50 for active duty military, first responders and veterans and $20 for everyone else.

The episode closes with a "mini" What's the Score" using Brooks Whittington's January 2010 Half Wheel review of the vintage Dunhill Mojito — a Cuban Corona (5 5/8 x 42) from the Romeo y Julieta factory, roughly $100 a stick. Clues cite a floral-and-oak-to-dark-chocolate-and-coffee progression, flawless construction and a clean finish, offset by a lumpy wrapper and thin smoke output. Greg and Palmer climb from the low 80s into the low 90s; the actual score is a 96.

Smaller cans, tighter. One step further away from being a real potato chip. Tighter circles. In cigars, Aladino has a new Camp, Rocky Patel is a real American.

Rocky. Hampton has 50 different cigars. Hampton? Hampton.

Okay. And then we have a mini What's the Score? What makes it a mini What's the Score? There's only one, there's not two.

We only do two on Tuesday. Two for Tuesday. Uh-huh. Two for Tuesday.

com? Did we launch the site? No. Oh, alright.

Like and subscribe wherever you're viewing and listening to this show. Let's move on. Dude, I gotta tell you, man, the auction site, I struggled with the image. It took me four hours today to get it to work.

So I got a... You got a picture to show up? I got a tweak, yeah. I got a tweak.

Is it like spin or something? No, it doesn't spin. It was just code stuff. Oh, sorry.

Yeah, excuse you. Code stuff. Code stuff. Just code stuff.

Me and the robot. m then you go on your phone is that a different watch yes i used to have money i have several watches i'm thinking we might be paying him too much oh trust me these did not come from The batteries for them did come from the pay for me. Fucking batteries. The batteries did.

But I can only do two every time I get paid. So, I have one more waiting on a battery. Like and subscribe if you're reviewing and listening to the show. com for all your chpod swag.

I did put the new item on the new site as well. So I'm excited. It's all ironed out. Yeah.

And putting that on was so cool. So, I know there's going to be some kinks along the way. So we're going to have to start trial and error in this thing. I'm going to turn this.

Hopefully I'll be able to turn this bad boy on today. So did you see the request for a BDP Pinocchio shirt? Yes, I did. I did see that.

Before that though, there might be a half wheel. Brooks is my favorite shirt. Just saying. Yeah.

Something along those lines. I don't want to get in, you know, trademark infringed copyright or whatever. Just one too many spokes or I'll mix it up. We used it before.

com a cigar hustlers podcast where if you pay for the The full year, you're gonna receive 10% off. Some comments, some comments from the show. Comments, we love the comments. Let me see, let me go triple here.

Quite the integral part of the show. I love the comments. I do too. It is lots of fun for me.

You know, I hate missing some of them too. Some of them are good and I look back and I'm like, oh, damn. Okay, @CW6383 says, I don't know about Half Wheel, but the Sumatra is an awesome cigar that has found a permanent place in my rotation. It has found a permanent place in a lot of people's rotation, and we appreciate you, Mr.

Chris Chad Weiss. Look, you know, the same exact cigar got a 90 on Half Wheel. So, you be the judge. I don't know.

That's a good point. I don't know. I didn't even think of that parallel. You're absolutely right.

Yeah, that bad boy clocked at 90. Right. Oh, yeah. It took me a minute, but yeah.

It is the identical blend because we were debating slightly tweaking it, and we fought about it for about two weeks, and we wound up sticking with the identical way we did it the first time. Correct. Yeah. That's funny.

So there you go. I wonder if Charlie noticed that. I don't know. I have more data than I'm gonna talk about on the Patreon.

Oh, that's funny. Yeah, so, so there's that. It got a 90. So, you know what they say, sometimes it may be good, sometimes it may be shit.

I don't know. I don't know. Oh, I just cut off again. This thing is, there's something wrong here.

It might be the headphones, because it's still going in mine. Yeah. We'll get rid of those tomorrow. Oh.

We have more. Or maybe it's this wire. We've changed the wire ones, but we can change both. OK.

OK. We do have backups of that without having to spend money. " Did I say that last year? Yeah, you did.

We read that yesterday. How did that pop up here? Oh, it says most relevant. I need to go newest.

Excuse me. That is the most relevant. Newest. OK.

As long as his name was, did we find out if there was a baby or not yet? No, I'll call him after this to find out if we have a baby. The doctor's got to get in his 18 holes before he goes in there and slices open. It's scheduled for a time.

We're referencing Phil's, well, Boots, because Phil is actually on the show today. He's going to make some appearances today, just so you know. He's the cousin that's Boots' brother. Yeah, so, you know, he may keep us updated.

Or the uncle, I guess. So he's going to be on the show, don't worry. I picture Boots passing out during seeing the baby come out. Oh, blood.

Yeah, blood and goo. There are certain things that he doesn't deal well with, so that might be one. Pressure? He refuses to wear the pressure as a privileged shirt because he doesn't believe it.

He can't even get close to the word. Can't get close to the shirt at all. I don't want that on here. I don't want that on me.

People make me do things. Okay. At BW Racing, two heart IBDPs, two I heart BDPs, laugh out loud. now this is funny king master chief i don't think palmer is the iheart bdp only because he did ask me if i was iheart bdp over the weekend and no i'm not listen he's just he's just trying to get us off he's deep in this game like he's just trying to get us off of his impressive he's trying to get us now he's asking people if they're him he's like he's the guy in the elevator that says did you fart when he ripped it that's him oh my god who did that seriously guys oh god what did you eat i can taste it meanwhile it was him oh yeah uh also okay so from palmer also aka i also heart bdp and the legendary bdp is back do you give your does like does this It's warm your heart.

It's not me! Do you get like a slight chubby? No, I enjoy that I have fans that are that promoted, yes, but it's just not me. Okay.

All right. My boy, Mitchie Maduro says, "I'm finally caught up, gents. The Waymo has a support button that stops the car and calls a remote operator. They can control the car via remote if needed.

I've seen the new CH site and it's got some great features. " Yeah. -He was just in a Waymo on one of his trips. -Wasn't he?

-Yeah. -Apparently he knows about the stop button. -Yes. Well, he would.

He would know. " That's not true. -Aw, that's very nice. -That's not true.

-Can he call McTavish and explain to him how to catch up? -That's very nice. -McTavish now puts the transcripts into AI and has it summarized. -He just gets like a synopsis of it all?

-Yeah, a summary? -Like Cliff Notes. Yeah. Give me the clip.

For God's sakes. It's an hour long show. Everybody else is doing four, five, six hours. He can't dedicate an hour to it.

Give me the clip notes. That's too much. That's all too much. I need the 15 second clip note please.

At T Money. Palmer said this, Mikey yelled at that, Greg giggled, and then the show was over. Palmer's fake accounts commented on the show. Who farted in here?

Who farted? Who farted? Oh, come on, guys. That'd be a good shirt.

Who farted? At T Money, I've smoked almost a whole The whole box of the Churchill Sumatra and four Petit Robustos. Not one had a combustion issue. Half Wheel has been over humidifying their stuff for years.

T-Money says 91. That's the score that matters. And I'm more harsh than they are. So look.

T-Money. There you go. Listen, I love this way, you know, it's, this is, I don't know what else to tell you. I mean, when I read the first review, when I read it or when it was brought to my attention, I was upset for about 30 seconds and i'm like all right this is about this is about standard so so what else is new i'm just you know there are so many bumps in the road and all this bullshit you got to deal with it's just another thing you know um let's see um ruckus unchained oh sharon you're my guy's mom yeah mom is a mom is messaging team money is onto something pinocchio palmer shirt should be made Okay.

Oh, I thought I saw that on Facebook. All right. Well, we'll look, you know, maybe, I don't know. We'll see.

That's a possibility. " I already said that in my rotation. I just switched it. "I Heart BDP, finally back the way the show was intended.

" Like, you're not even funny. Like, you're not even funny. It's not me! You should be a little more creative.

All right. Bang Energy. I find you funny, Palmer. Thank you.

It's still not me. Apparently, everyone else finds me funny, too. Two words. Bang Energy.

" I could care less. I don't know. " If I actually knew how to make one of those accounts and make comments like that, I would do that. " Oh.

Then you could accuse my brother of being "I Heart the King," and I would be the actual deviant. He has another account. He could change the name, I guess. It's the same, I guess.

See, the difference is though, like, I don't have the time and energy like you, dude, where I can go- You think I have the time? I could create multiple accounts and comment. I just don't. I just don't.

So, good for you. Good for you, Mr. BDP. I heart BDP.

Very upset. I'm not upset. If you wanted to see, dude, you know what upset looks like. This is definitely not it.

Very distraught. Here, I hate it so much. I also heart BDP says, Mike over here tripping over sticks trying to speak. Now, how is real BDP, the I heart BDP, or me?

Maybe you're wrong, Mike. Maybe we should make a bet to see if you're right of not. Good job, Jax. You did better than Boots.

Okay. That's very nice. Very sweet. Palmer, you're very sweet on the show when you comment sometimes.

You know that? say nice things about my son thank you he did he did a great job yeah uh and then epicurean smoke says most interesting pronunciation of martini q i've ever heard props on the creativity um okay so if you want to hear your comment read aloud on the show uh t-money just want a hat okay comment below you could possibly be entered to win something Or we might read it out loud. I don't know. But my brother, he has been working on this little side quest venture.

Maybe you would like to should present some of these. What have you been doing? So I came to the realization that we have like four different insignias that are involved around Powstanie. So we made the travel ashtrays for cars.

Okay. So there's the Hussar, right? Okay, gotta catch 'em all, like Pokemon. There's the bear, and then we did the pea, of course, and then there's my personal favorite, the war chicken.

So yeah, we're gonna wind up throwing these up in the store upstairs, and we're gonna wind up selling these bad boys. Oh, we're gonna sell them, that's what we're doing? Yeah, that's the plan. All right, well we're gonna give one of them away this week on CHPod, on the site.

We have to call in. How do you make money if you give it away? We don't. We don't.

That's the flaw with this whole production. It gets promoted for a good week. Yeah. Show it every day.

Yeah. If they don't win, they buy them. Ah. Yeah.

Whatever, dude. Can you sell them first? Listen to me. Don't come for my people.

Then they're all going to wait. We're going to take care of it. I might win one. I'm not going to buy it now.

I wanted to show these to you that you could sell them and now we're giving them away. Well, we're giving one away this week. We're giving one away! Here on A Cigar Hustlers podcast.

We can't sell things through the show. We're going to be giving it away. So just comment below and you'll be answered to win. Effective now.

What episode is this? 571. Because I messed that up? Yeah, it's because now we're back in numerical order.

There's missing shows. Okay, thank you. 571. How are there missing shows?

I don't know. I put in the wrong number. What do you want from me? He put in the wrong number twice.

He skipped two numbers. Oh, I get it, I get it, I get it. Yeah, iHeartBDP, why don't you comment about that shit? Or I also heart BDP, why didn't you comment about that shit?

I'm waiting at I heart BDP three, four. I want, you know what the next one I need to be is like I need a BDP's heart or like BDP's hairline or something. Or heart, heart, heart BDP. BDP's, is it like something from Fight Club, BDP's kidney.

What? Yeah, something, something really, BDP's ED medication, something. Something. Okay?

Yes? Look, look. Yeah, that was a good one. Yeah.

Oh, God. Okay. All right. So, yeah, comment.

Please comment. And I look forward to your comments. And on with the show. m.

on Saturday, after neighbors reported hearing a man screaming for help. What happened? Role-playing sex act? I think...

I don't heart BDP? I think... Well, I want to make a comment, and then I'm sure Phil wants something to say. Oh, okay.

Oh, good. What do I think happened? I think a gator came into their house. That would be my guess.

Let me ask Phil here. Hold on one second. I think what happened was someone dropped their hamburger on the floor, and the cat ate some of it and they got really mad. I hate my cat.

All right, thanks, Phil. Investigators say 41-year-old Denise Callahan had discovered messages on her husband's phone earlier that evening that she believed proved he was having an affair. After a heated argument, her husband, 44-year-old Mark Callahan, reportedly went to sleep in the back room. Deputies alleged Denise later then took an M80-style firework from a box of fireworks in the garage She entered the bedroom, placed it between her husband's butt cheeks while he was asleep.

The firework exploded moments later, causing third-degree burns and flesh wounds, according to the arrest report. Yeah, see, Mark fucked up, right? She blew up his head. Yeah, but Mark fucked up.

Like, to go to sleep after that argument is foolish. Oh, without locking the door, at least? Minimum, potentially barricading the door. I mean, like, you know how I sleep in hotels.

Like, I take all the furniture and I pile it up against the door because I'm not paranoid. He should have done that. I got to be honest, I'm more concerned about the fact that something got slipped into Mark's butt and he didn't wake up. Well, to be fair, Mark and Denise definitely partake in number one alcoholic beverages and potentially all the way to meth.

Allegedly. You don't know. You think. You think.

She didn't shove it in his ass. She just rested it on top of his butt. Oh, gentle? It did say in between the cheeks.

That's more than just resting. Did it say in between? Mm-hmm. At least that's what I envisioned.

Entered the bedroom, placed it between her husband's butt cheeks. I guess you're right. It's not on top of. And it's not on top of.

It's not on top of. We're going in, baby. Oh, yeah. But cheeks, not hole.

Right. Yeah. I mean, that's a lot of scotch if it makes it in the hole and you don't realize it. Right.

Well, that's where that one lady, they hid the cocaine the other day, so she didn't even know it. And on top of that, I wonder if she lit it before she placed it or afterwards, right? Like, how fast is she moving? Yeah.

Does she light and then stick? Because if that's the case, you've got, what, like, maybe five seconds to execute? Yeah. But if you can get it in and there's enough wick hanging out.

Right. That doesn't touch cheek. Right. Then the spark's gonna burn a little bit, but you know, his RT is low because of the amount of bush light that's in his system.

Phil, what do you have to add to this? I feel really bad for my boyfriend, Mark. He was texting me, but we're not in a relationship, so I don't know what she's so upset about. His co-star?

Yeah. Oh, okay. So you guys are on your own shows together? What the fuck are we doing?

Yeah, we're on shows together. What are we doing? What do you mean, what are we doing? He was the co-star to Dead Inside Me, he was inside him.

inside him? He was zombie, yeah. He was zombie dead inside me. Zombie dead?

Yeah. That's why he doesn't feel things in his butt. He played head zombie. Oh my god.

And it becomes love story. Alright, Phil. Cool. Good for you.

Mark was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to a local hospital. Officials said he is expected to recover. When questioned by deputies, Denise allegedly admitted she had no regrets about her action. No regrets, baby.

No regrets. And if he wanted He wanted to fuck around, he should have known he would find out. Yes. Yes, indeed.

Yes, Denise was arrested on charges of aggregated assault, possession of an illegal explosive device, and domestic violence. She was booked into the county jail and later released on bond. I wonder if he bailed her out. I love you baby, I love you too.

She's actually in, this is obviously in Florida, right? Yeah, up in Ocala. Yeah, so like, she's actually in really big trouble because domestic violence is a crime against the state, not against a person. So even if he's like, you know, I really love her, I forgive her for blowing up my asshole, it doesn't matter, the state's who prosecutes.

I don't know how I forgive anybody for blowing up my asshole, I can tell you that right now. There's zero forgiveness. How does Greg know the statutes on domestic matters? He needs to know where he stands if he decides to blow up somebody's asshole.

That's it. I think maybe he's abused. He'd take your food and hit you? Yeah, yeah.

He's actually done his research. He's like, well, if I file now, can she get to me again? Right, it's against the state, and then I can eat all my own food. I can have my sandwich, my whole sandwich, without anybody.

Fucking food. You know what's funny, too, is I started cutting those jokes when we were doing the last episode, when it was just me, him, and Jax, and Alex was in the room, and I'm like, so she takes your food? And he's just like... Oh yeah, I forgot she was in there.

No, he knew she was in there, so he just kind of tried to keep it short. He's like... Oh yeah, that's real funny. That's not true at all.

Go back and watch the show. You'll see. I make the joke. And all of a sudden, he's just kind of like...

Move on. Let's move on. Move on. Move on.

We're going to dinner after this. I don't want her to beat me more. Sheriff's Office said the case is still under investigation and reminded residents that fireworks are explosives, not tools for setting relationships. Yes, and do not belong in your butt.

By the way, I'm having this today. Ba-bam. Over here. My stranza.

My Roma Craft. Boom. Okay, continue. All right.

This month, Idaho became the first and currently only state in the nation to make the firing squad its primary method of execution. Love it. Is my microphone on? I can't hear it.

Yeah, it's on. All right. You sound great. The change marks a significant shift in how the state plans to carry out capital punishments.

Idaho currently has eight The state officials say the new policy is intended to address the ongoing difficulty of obtaining lethal injection drugs. Yes. Bullets are readily available. Bullets are readily available.

Hell yeah, man. We need to take that guy out back and square it up and be done. I don't know. Like, when did all these other processes become a thing?

Well, they're more humane ways of killing. If we're killing somebody, there's nothing humane about it already. You know what I mean? Well, there's a drug that they give you first puts you to sleep, and then they give you another one that stops you breathing, and then they give you another one that finally stops your heart.

Who wants all that? That sounds ridiculous. It does seem like a lot. Yeah.

It's expensive. Yeah. A lot more better than high voltage going through your body after they shave your head, though. That was pretty interesting.

That's pretty interesting. That's just for entertainment purposes. Yeah. 2 million.

dollars which doesn't make any sense overpaid i mean it's concrete what are we what are we doing here well we built a berm out back i mean it's a pile of dirt you know back in the day we we tie these people to a stick they have to have the viewing room so you can watch it's air conditioned a lot of company recliners recliners door a thousand dollars worth of chairs and it's done yeah yeah we can build a private member lounge and everything you know what i mean the facility features a fixed execution chair designated firing position for the execution team and He did reinforce construction designs specifically for the procedure. Lovely. The state has also established strict procedures for those participating in the execution. As in the one shooting?

Because like the protocol is only like a couple of them get live rounds and everybody else gets-- I thought it was like one. No, it's more than that. But a couple of them get blanks as well, so nobody actually knows who actually murdered them. Could have been anyone.

Members of the firing squad are volunteers. Nice. These are mice, yes. - Who must meet specific qualifications and follow detailed operational protocols intended to ensure the process is carried out according to state law.

You can go there and volunteer, Greg. - Yeah, I wonder if the victims' families can volunteer. - Mmm. - That'd be awesome.

- It would be. Just let the family all do it. - I bet that if Texas takes this on, they have that clause. - I think we go back one more step, remove the bullet and stone the person.

- Stone the person to death. - Everybody gets a rock. - Everyone, you keep throwing rocks. 2 million on something the finest rocks you know what i mean well you can only use them once because then you sell them afterwards yes yeah with like the guy's name on it yeah yeah yeah yeah and then t-shirts i got stoned yeah unless my brother's in charge then he would give away the rock yeah well if they commented below yes there would be at least one rock given away absolutely one rock supporters of the law argue that the firing squad is a more dependable and predictable method than lethal injection.

Yeah, like a bullet. Particularly as pharmaceutical shortages and legal challenges continue to delay executions across the country. Why don't we just throw a drone in there and then just M80 them? You know?

Or you could insert fireworks up the app. Yeah. Exactly. And just light the fuse.

2 million that we spent, we could actually tie in audio. You know? You know? That would be incredible.

Fourth of July thing, they can do themed ones. Yeah, exactly. Easter, they put him in a rabbit suit. Yeah, Mother's Day, the sky's the limit.

All the mothers get to shoot. Yeah, exactly. All the mothers get to shoot. Santa Claus, he dresses up as Santa and everybody else dresses as an elf.

Dress him up like Santa and shoot. Yeah, yeah. No, you put the firing squad's reindeer. Oh, reindeer.

I guess that's better than elves. They've just had enough of this shit. Every year, we gotta fly around, we gotta hit all these houses. It's ridiculous.

New Year's, he dressed him up like a baby? Yeah. Ooh, yeah. Is that too fun?

That might be a little bit too much with that one. That one may not be. Come on, everybody, shoot the baby New Year. That one may not track.

Three, two, one. Wham! Critics who always see the move very differently, they argue that returning to execution by firing squad is a disturbing step backwards and raises serious ethical and humanitarian concerns. The debate reflects the broader national conversation over capital punishment, one that continues to divide lawmakers, legal experts, and the public.

Also, Idaho moves forward with its revised procedures as states likely to remain at the center of the discussion for the foreseeable future. Mmm. Okay. Now they're known for potatoes and killing.

Yeah, whatever. Okay. You know, I think this would be great. 2 million to be spent on the bill.

There's some states you get to choose, don't you? Where they give you like options? Maybe. I think running man type style.

But it's got to be super limited. It's probably lethal injection in the chair. Yeah, lethal injection, shooting, or the chair. Yeah, but not every state has a firing squad.

Actually, not every state, I think, has a death penalty either. No, no, they don't. And there's eight guys with guns. They can find some rednecks or hunters or something.

That's true, yeah. There's eight people in every state that would like to shoot something. Yeah, man, I mean, like, you gave me two hours, I could put together a squad. Right.

You know what I mean? Right, yeah. Especially in Florida. Mark is generally now in a position of being angry after his butt was exploded, so I'm sure he's got a lot of, you know, a lot of hatred to get rid of on the world.

A lot of venting. Yeah, a lot of venting. What if they give one guy eight bullets and he just gets to go? A couple of them are blanks, a couple of them are real.

Yeah, you don't know which one did it. You don't know which one did it. Yeah. Well, I guess if you shoot him and he falls down, you could probably stop.

Oh, that one worked. That one's important. I got six more shots here, buddy. Get him up.

Get him up. Put him back in the chair. Put him back in the special chair. All right, Pringles has decided that chips are no longer enough.

Oh, yeah? The brand announced today they're releasing a limited run of... Cheerio. Chewing gum.

Hold on, wait, wait, wait. Phil's gonna ask. That's Phil. He's a food expert.

We should ask Phil. They're opening up a fast food restaurant and they're gonna sell lots of cheeseburgers Hexburgers and french fries and it's going to be called Pringles Queens Pringles Queens? Yeah, like Burger King, but this one is Pringles Queens, you know? Gotcha.

never mind. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. That was just the earlier joke. we don't bury it, you know?

All right. Limited round of flavored hot dog buns. Oh! Hot dog buns.

Buns. Hot dog buns. B-U-N-S. Not hot dogs, hot dog buns.

Yeah, the bread part. I don't know why this is so hard for you to understand. I mean, like, it's super specific, and like, so their chips, they're not actually chips. Like, they're not made from...

All right, stop ruining this for everybody. People like Pringles potatoes. But I was gonna make a parallel. Like, are their buns also not actually bread?

No, they are buns, they borrow their seasoning from three familiar cans: sour cream and onion, barbecue, and honey mustard. What are their chips made of, Greg? I have no idea, but they're not slices of potato, that's why they can't be called potato chips, 'cause they're not. Are you kidding me right now?

They're reconstituted something. Yeah, right. Like, in other countries, they don't allow them to call them potato chips, 'cause they're not. What are Pringles chips made of?

Mashed potatoes. Pringles chips are made from a combination of dehydrated processed potato, corn, rice, and wheat. They contain about 42% potato content. The remainder being wheat starch and flours, corn and rice, combined with vegetable oils and emulsifier, salt, and seasoning.

Not even 50% potato. Wow. Not even. Not even.

Wow. That's incredible. Thank you, Chad, GBT. They're called Pop Dog Buns.

And they're not made of bread. Probably not. 46% bread. 46% bread.

42. 42. Each one measures seven and a half inches long so we can fit neatly into Pringles Signature packaging. The buns are potato based.

Which gives the brand a solid starting point for working its chip flavor into the bread itself. There you go. So it's like potato bread. There's potato bread, potato rolls in there.

Yeah, I mean, but their chips are potato based as well, but they're not potato chips. Right. Well, the bread is not crunchy. Can you tell I'm angry about this?

Like I've felt lying in your entire life. Yeah, you're very upset about this. I do know what I'm getting you for your birthday now. Not fucking Pringles.

You know, a man of your health stature with what you would consume, I'm sure, on a regular basis, I can only imagine why you would be so outraged at the fact That these chips and this bread is not real. Right, I'm upset about it. I can see that. I can see that.

I'm pissed. Are you going to get the Pringles bread, Mr. Palmer? Well, you have to buy them online at their website.

Oh, God, here we go. They are offered on the 15th and the 20th of the month, only two days. 97 three-pack containing sour cream and onion barbecue and honey mustard. So, you buy this kit that's got a tube of each, they throw in a tube, there's one bun.

And it's only on certain days. It's like open enrollment for insurance, that's the stupidest thing ever. It's a promotional thing, they're just doing it one time. We're just going direct to consumer, here we are, more of this.

Right, so you buy three of the chips, and it's one bun in a can. Okay, I go get the pringles, I get the bread for you, don't worry, I can find it, but I can't guarantee that I won't eat it before I bring it in. Okay, thanks, Phil. This is what we're doing.

What are we doing? What are we doing? What are we doing? We're just having a normal conversation, the four of us.

The four of us. Yeah, you got a problem with that? Give me a website where you can get the button, please. Oh, my God.

com, along with the brands Instagram and Facebook shops, while supplies last. There you go. Thank you, Phil and Palmer. Phil's probably going to jump right on.

Open enrollment on the 14th and the 28th of each month. Yeah, there's twice in the month of July you can get this. I get on, I'll be there. Alright, now on the Cigar News.

What time are we at? 31. You're rolling, you're doing great. Yeah, Phil's keeping it going.

Camp Aladino 1962 Toro heads to stores. Oh. JRE Tobacco Company has always given special privilege to the retailers who have made the trip to Donnelly, Honduras, and visited the company's farms and factories. So you can only get to Cigar if you visited their factory.

To the Magical Factory. Yes. Well, it's a little light there, but it's okay. Previously, those stores have gotten early access to new launches as well and some exclusive limited edition releases.

Last year, JRE introduced the new line that was made just for those stores, the Camp Aladino. It was offered in a four and a half by 60 short Gordo Vitola, though in three different wrappers. When the cigar was announced, the company said it would offer the cigars retailers who visited Honduras for one year before making those cigars available to all customers. One year.

So you can buy it now if you've been, next year you can get it, and everybody can get it. I like it. If they have any left. This goes back to that whole, you know, brands that give retailers tools.

I like it. Come back one year. Come back for one year. Well, no, you visited a factory, now you have special cigars.

Does it say what the wrapper is and all that good stuff? Um, the new Camp Aladino, exclusive for 2026, Heading to select stores this week, the new Camp Aladino is a 1962 Toro, it's a 6x52 Toro, JRE is still not disclosing anything about the blend, so, no. Undisclosed. Undisclosed.

I think camp sounds weird, though, it doesn't sound enticing to me, you know what I mean? Well, maybe if you had been to the factory in Donnelly, Honduras, you would find, maybe they call it the JRE Camp. That's probably what they call it, I get it. Probably get a t-shirt and a hat.

I just feel like it doesn't track, that's all. Travel mug. You know? It's a weird word.

Yeah. And you get an ashtray with a picture of somebody on it. If they comment below. Comment below.

All week long. Each cigar is an MSRP. Five days. How much is this cigar?

It's $16. That's his go-to. It's his go-to. And he's never right.

I'm going to say $17. Wait, it's a four and a half by 60? Yes. So it's like the micro penis of cigars.

Yes, exactly. It's a good callback to yesterday's show. $17? You went the wrong way.

Son of a bitch. It is $11. $11. American?

Yeah, Honduran. American, Honduran dollars? Honduran dollars. Oh.

It's twice, that makes it twice as much. No, that's like three American dollars. Oh. Boxes of 20 cigars is expected to be available only at stores that have visited the JRE camp in Honduras.

Mmm. Till next year, whenever anyone can buy it, if they have any left. Right, if they have any left. Are we going to go to Donnelly?

Speaking of going to Central American country, what is the update on our trip? I am well aware that this has to take place. I have not had an opportunity to have conversations with our friends down there. He's been super busy.

I have been very busy. Super busy. I'm a busy man. He showed up at noon today.

Yeah. He's been busy. He was sleeping. I had to sleep.

He needed to sleep. He needed to recover from his vacation on the 4th. Right, I guess so. And he's got some weird growth on his finger.

He's got a growth on his finger? I do have a growth on my finger. I don't want to know where he put that in New Orleans. Wherever he was instructed to put it.

You have to avoid the domestic violence. Maybe he grabbed the sandwich back and she bit him. Where do you want me to show this? Okay, fine.

Just please stop beating me. My God. Because it is a crime against the state. It's a crime.

Just so you know. This is a crime against the state. What's going on here? Oh, man.

And that'll be the last time Greg volunteers to be on the podcast. There's no volunteering. We can tell him yesterday. Well, if he does it again, you know what I'm saying?

He's going to be told not to. Yeah, exactly. Next episode, I've been instructed to sit here and be quiet. Okay, you can go on there, but no more talking.

Not talk about our life at home. I don't want you to say anything. Nothing at home. Nothing.

She's going to be there and hit him with a stick every time he says something wrong. Nothing about the tortoise, nothing. Did you know they took that turtle with them on the trip? Yes, I'm aware.

The entire Noah's Ark was in here when we did the podcast. Oh, they were in here. Yeah. Because we stopped on the way home.

So it was two dogs, the son, the wife, and the tortoise. They brought the chickens. No, that would be too far. The chickens came.

They wanted a whole family. Him traveling like the Beverly Hillbillies. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly.

They had the leopard, they brought the leopard. The leopard? Yeah, it's crazy. The goat was the goat.

The fainting goat was out front. Yeah. It was insane. It was insane.

It was insane. All right, Rocky Patel America 250 has been teased. Oh. Kind of late to that game.

Yeah, they put up a picture on Instagram. Okay, yeah. The list of companies making cigars in honor of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States will have at least one more entry. One more time.

On July 4th, Rocky Patel Premium Cigars Inc. posted a picture of its upcoming American 250, we don't have this, but here's what it would look like, Nish Patel, EVP, Executive Vice President, of Rocky Patel, declined to discuss details with Half Wheel, other than saying, yeah, we've made cigars, I don't want to talk about it, and the company is just waiting on packaging, a picture of the box listed cigars as a 6x52 Toro, that's all the information that they could get. Cigars are a very American thing to do. Right.

America. America. " Nobody will know. Right.

That's cool. Charlie asked questions. " "Yeah, go away. " Jesus, fucker.

Just had a glimpse. In the final thought, it did sound like he was trying to apologize. Like, I really wanted to like it. I did.

I swear I wanted to like it. Yeah. Hey, you know, just so you know. Just so you know, I wanted to, but it's terrible.

This is the worst damn cigar I've ever had. Let me just, you know, let me just surmise here. However, if you go back, it got a 90. -Just one year prior.

-The aging did not work out for this cigar. -Oh my God, that's amazing. -Same blend, same blend. -All right, Hampton Cigars Manufacturing and Museum will officially launch the Commander, the 50th cigar in the collection.

-Commander. -On July 4th, 2026. -Did you say Hampton Cigars and Museum? -Yes, they have a museum.

-They do both? -Yes. -Cigars and museum? -You can look at the stuff, you can buy the cigar.

-Right, and they have 50 cigars. -50 cigars. - 50 different cigars. - 50 different states.

- That's like, you know, aquarium and cigars. - That's correct. - Yeah, except it's all cigar museum stuff. - Oh, oh, now it makes sense.

Okay, it's not a history museum. - What do you think? - I don't know, museum, I don't think cigars. - And they got like the Hall of Presidents in there?

- Yeah, something like that. - You know what, we sell cigars in the lobby. - War Memorial or some shit, yeah. - Oh, like tanks and grenades and things going up in there.

- Yeah, right, and then cigars. - And cigars. - Sound effects of do, do, do, do, do, do. - And then would you like a cigar?

- He's so good at the sound effects. - Would you like a cigar? You know, it's funny, I got news for you. Back in the day, on Main Street and Disney, you could buy cigars.

- Yes. - They had cigars. - You could. - Yeah, but that makes sense.

- That makes sense? - Sure. - A Pluto cigar band? - Well, no, because they also have, like, bars and restaurants and shops where you buy stuff.

Like, there's random things that you can buy around the mouse. Makes sense. - I don't know if it makes sense. - It just doesn't make sense with a museum.

- I just wish that it still was there. Oh yeah, agreed. You know what I mean? Yeah, but you know, tobacco bad.

Yeah, someone comes over, excuse me, is that a cigar? Fuck you, this is my Donald Duck cigar. Okay? Give me a break.

Give me a break. I can do whatever I want. This is my mini, petite Corona. I'm tired of you.

The Goofy is the Gordo. My Goofy is the Gordo, right? Yeah. The Gordo Goofy.

6x60. Goofy. Mickey's a standard Toro. Yeah.

Donald is. Look at where you're going. Tinkerbell? tinkerbell is the cheroot it's the cheroot yeah all right i like where this is at i like who's the lancero calibre the who's the who's the calibre no the octopus uh no ursula is the three cigars wrapped together it'd be the three little pigs no no ursula all day good that he was able to come up with that that's pretty good i have kids yeah but you still have to have a certain level of creativity just like you know pop off on it like that the aladdin one you're supposed to steal it You know what I'm saying?

You're supposed to steal it. So, it's not necessarily a size. Yeah. Any cigar you steal from Disney is an Aladdin.

If it says Aladdin, it just doesn't have a price point on it? Because you're supposed to steal it. Yeah. Yeah.

Genie. You know, it's blue. It's a blue cigar. A blue cigar.

Yeah. All right. The release honors military heritage through a cigar created to recognize generations of service. The Commander was developed by Lac Voha, owner of Hampton Cigar Manufacturing.

We're still talking about this? Yeah, we gotta finish this story. There was 50 cigars. We totally railroaded him.

Yeah, yeah. Let him finish. I'm sorry. Very sorry.

Part of the launch, the commander will be priced at? $16. 50. Oh, wow.

Give him a chance! He's just-- No, it's not that. It's not that. It's that he's just running through it now.

It's like, all right, fuck, I gotta get out of this. 50 per cigar for active duty military first responders and veterans. That's what's going on here. If slapdicks like you, though, it's 20 bucks.

The Commander is a robust but mild cigar, measuring a 50 by 5. It's a robust but mild cigar? That's what it says. Okay, who the, what is wrong with his marketing department?

I mean, who puts a 50 by 5? Who throws a shoe? Honestly. You know, I mean, it was ridiculous.

Oh, look, he's gonna spit out his fucking water. Good. Good. So that's why he had the little cup, because he had his travel set with him.

Yeah, he likes his little sippy sippy. Mm-hmm. Keeps the, All right, time for the industry's favorite game. What's the score?

You guys need to have more enthusiasm on this. Somebody made fun of it when I did it on the short because you guys are like, maybe that was the one where I refused. No. One more time, one more time.

Ready? Okay, come on. Do it. Time for the industry's favorite game.

What's the... Nobody's doing it. You're just listening. Players hear clues from a half-wheel cigar review and try to predict the score before it's revealed.

As more details are shared, the challenge gets easier, or does it? The closest guess to the actual score wins the round. Can you read between the lines and predict the score? " Let us play.

Today's cigar, January 4th, 2010. 2010. Thank you. 2010.

Got it. I do ask that. I appreciate it. Brooks Whittington.

I asked that too. There's Brooks Whittington over there in the booth. I like that. It is the vintage Dunhill Mojito.

Triple G? 88? I'm sorry, what was the date? I don't remember.

The guy at the museum made it, it's fine. It's 10 bucks. It was $10 for active service and $20 if you're civilian. That's not nice.

The military discount. That's interesting. Half price. I want, I want to be, I'm 15 for me.

I don't want to pay. Well, then join the military. I'm like, that's not even the military discount. Military's 10.

I just want to say, well, I thought about joining the military and that should count as something. Well, we'll think about giving you a discount. Yeah, we should think about reducing the price. Because paying 2x because I'm not in the military sounds like bullshit to me.

Yeah, it's because you're not in the military. Yeah, neither are you. I would pay $20. Yeah.

No, you wouldn't. Not with your salary. No, I couldn't afford that. Exactly.

I have to get somebody to get me one. Yeah. I'm at 82. All right.

It's the Dunhill Mojito. Country of origin, Cuba. Factory, Real, Fabrica, De Tobacco, Romeo and Julieta. Wrapper Cuban, binder Cuban, filler Cuban.

Five and five H by 42 Corona. Oh, it's a $100 cigar. Oh, wow. That's it, they don't say how many they smoke, it's an older view.

I'm going to bump it, I'm going to go 90. This shit's going to be plugged, I'm going to stick at 82. Oh, I'm sorry. I was texting my wife, shut up, you're so mean to me, my God.

You're so mean to me. What? Clue number one. He goes home and talks shit about me, that's why his wife hates me.

You know, that's exactly what he does. He's like, fucking Mike said this today. Look, and he turns red. He hit me.

He took my sandwich. And it's not domestic violence. And I got this rash on my finger. Yeah, and then it puts them in a position, it's like you know I really need everything that your wife does to you, and I say he does it to me.

Exactly, exactly. It's like topic of conversation. I call the iHeartBDP people, and we have this meeting over the phone, here's what I need you to say, here's what I need you to say. Yeah, I need you to do these things, and now I'm gonna go over dinner, I'm gonna go talk to my wife and tell him how much an asshole Mike is.

That's what he does. Like, you're not going to believe the shit he said to me today. I was trying to help him earlier today. The look on his face, the fuck you I saw on his face was horrendous.

I'm like, like I'm over here just trying to make his life miserable. Like, hey, you know what would have made sense if you did X, Y, Z. And he's just like, this is the look. Oh, I know that look.

Yeah. But to be fair, like maybe it's your delivery. Maybe it's the way that you're packaging the advice. Cause like I too have seen the look, but it is kind of a rarity, to be fair.

I don't get it very often and I think that it's when I'm just being overly aggressive. Oh, it's the delivery. It's the delivery. It's not like he started with, let me help you and make this easier for you.

It was like, I do all this stuff for you, don't even use the tools that I give you. That's exactly, that's exactly right. Yeah, exactly what I want. It's crazy that it has to get to that level.

You know what I mean? What, because there was easier ones before? There's like a whole thing, and I built this whole thing, and it's like, what's this? Fuck this thing.

I'm like, okay. He said to use this one part, so I always use this part. Now he wants me to use this other part, so fine, I'll use the other part. Use both parts.

What? Use both parts. Well, the idea is that it's supposed to streamline, not that I have to click back and forth between different things. And actually, it was something I was going to ask you to do, but using the other one eliminates that problem.

Do you want it on the other page? Just say the word, and I'll put it on the other page. No, no, I know. I mean, he could flash red and blue at this point if I wanted to do it, and my picture could come up every time I log in.

I mean, anything could happen. Anything could happen. Okay, so there's two things that's gonna happen. Number one, first of all, I am going to work it out so that it's on the same page for you.

Okay. No, no, you don't have to do that. I'm gonna do that. I want to do that for you.

All right. Second thing, there's gonna be a picture of your face on every single account. Oh, can you make it the resting bitch face that he makes when you make a suggestion too aggressively and he doesn't like it? And he doesn't like that?

No, no. I have an image of him going like this. Oh, that's right. You do.

And I'll just put that up. And actually, what I'll do is, I'll go into Easy Post, and I'll add it, so that when his emails, when the emails get shipped for tracking confirmation, I'll put that on there for him. Beautiful. Oh, when I get sent the emails?

No, when the customer gets tracking info, it'll have that. Oh, that's fine. Okay. I don't care.

" Okay? We're extremely organized and there's logistics to the next level. However... However, there is a picture of Palmer wiping sweat off his face.

Yes. That he couldn't remove fast enough from social media before I grabbed it. Right. True.

Uh, the little squares on the accounts page? Yeah? If it could say the last time it was contacted on the left-hand corner? Okay, just tell me and I'll add it.

Yeah, like not during the middle of the podcast. That's what he's saying. Oh, sorry. You know what I mean?

All right, so sweaty image of you, got it. That he's going to remember. Oh, 100%. Yeah, but the actual part that would help, and then...

Yeah, we'll get to that. Sure you don't want to do the overall picture? People really like the overalls. No, no.

All right. All right, clue number one, the flavor... Do anybody remember what cigar we're doing? Yes.

I just remember 2010. It was not really the only information I need. The Dunhill 2010. Greg said 90, I'm at 82.

All right. The flavor progression was outstanding. The transition from floral and oak into rich, dark chocolate and coffee capped off with a creamy, clean finish made for a refined and memorable smoking experience. Bumping it.

91. 85. Clue number two. Excellent construction.

Really stood out. Oh my God. Are you kidding me? The flawless burn and draw combined with high-quality aged tobacco and a finish that never turned bitter, even down on the nub, showcases a very well-made cigar, unlike the Churchill.

Oh, we're turning it up. Unlike the Churchill. Unlike the Churchill. Uh, 94.

Now, Brooks doesn't like it either. You might want to pick Brian Burnt or something to put on your shirt. 89. Here comes the bad one.

While the smoking experience was impressive, the wrapper's noticeably lumpy appearance was distracting, and the cigar produced less smoke than expected throughout the session. Visually distracting wrapper? Is that what I just heard? Yes.

That's a thing. And less smoke. I can understand that one, but we started with visually distracting wrapper. Lumpy was the word he used.

Lumpy. Lumpy. Distracting. He's a bit lumpy.

Wow, okay, 90... I don't like looking at this cigar. One, I guess, because it's visually distracting. Aesthetically, it is upsetting.

89. Final thought. When trying to think of just one word to describe this smoke, I kept running into a wall. Smooth came to mind, and while it's definitely smooth, that does not encompass what I was thinking.

Elegant is another word. Then I was thinking, but again, does not say the entirety of what I was thinking. Finally, I settled on refined. The cigar is one of the reasons people go crazy over aged Cubans.

Amazing flavor, construction, and a wonderfully clean finish combined into the total package, the real deal, the cat's meow, or whatever tired phase you want to add. It was not a strong cigar by any means, and in fact, I think that more strength would have ruined the overall effect of the smoke, as a cigar is all about flavor, and flavor it has in spades. I have very rarely tasted many different flavors in a cigar as I did with the Dunhill Mojito, all complimenting each other an astounding cigar made that I will be searching for more of. Triple G.

Brooks is in love. Is this love that I'm feeling? Ninety-two. It was a bold number that you have picked.

I'm going to go above it, and call it 93. You went the right way. Ooh! Ninety-six.

Ooh! Oh, hold on one second, let me get down through. Hold on, I'm in my bucket. Whoever said it is better against the brick wall, they were correct.

They are correct indeed. It does look better. Maybe I will give you like a background of something. Maybe we do a background for you.

Over here? Yeah. I kind of got used to the bathroom door. And we do like a, I don't know, maybe like a city or something.

I don't know. Ooh. Yeah, some books. Maybe some books.

Oh, like a library. Yeah. I actually like the way the background looks with the background of the space. I mean, you, because of where you're positioned, you kind of need something behind you because it's just a wall.

Well, yours looks like the best, right? Right? Right. With all the lighting and different colors back there.

Yeah. So, I don't know. Okay. I think we have a rack over in the other room.

You could take an image of what looks behind me and then put it behind Palmer. Oh, there you go. I get the fake background. We do have a rack, don't we?

From the old green screens. Yeah. Oh, didn't we have like a step and repeat or something? Ah.

From Mike and Mike Productions? A step and repeat? Yeah, something, it's called something like that. I don't know.

We have the rack of the green screens to hang on. I think we still have it. We had this cool Mike and Mike Productions thing. Oh, that thing.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. The big, right, right, right. Oh, but that thing's huge. I don't want to put that up and take it down every day.

That would have to stay up. Just leave it open and then close off that bathroom. Yeah. It really stinks anyway.

It smells sour in there. Yeah. Really? Yeah.

We'll have to have staff take care of it. No, no, they clean it, but they can't get the smell out. Well, they need to do something else then. Well, we used to have the room on the other side.

I always showed you that toilet always had stuff in it every Monday morning. You go, well, somebody come in here and go to the bathroom. Nobody was in here over the weekend. I think the septic backflows into that for some reason.

That's not how gravity works. I understand that, but it's yellow, gunky water every Monday. Don't know how. Maybe the pump turns out.

So there's an air gap in between the way that the drainage flows into the lift station. So it would have to go past the point. Of that air gap, which is an impossibility. Okay, well then you explain why it's gunky in there.

I don't have an explanation other than- Somebody go in there over the weekend and they pee all over the floor. That might be it. Every weekend? The bottom line is they have to do a better job cleaning it.

That's it. And you have to hold the button down to flush it. Well, that's a toilet problem. You need me to replace the toilet?

Well, I don't. It's not within budget. I just use that one over there. He just shits in his pants.

He just shits in his pants. I get changed when I get home. It's much easier when I get home. Yeah.

Much easier. And then he gets home and he says, you're not going to believe this. Mike made me shit in my pants, right? Right, don't let me use the bathroom.

How about that, Adrian? Leave that on this list of things I can't do. Now I can't go to the bathroom. I can't stand this guy.

Well, first of all, it's not new to the list. You're not allowed to poop in the room. Oh, yeah, I'm not allowed to poop in the bath in the motel. This is a thing.

This is a true thing. It is. It is a respectful thing to do. I never see you leave to go to the bathroom downstairs, though.

He pooped downstairs, though. When you were bunking with others. That's because he poops in the room. Right, that's what I'm assuming.

That's not true. You don't poop in the room? No. No.

You think that I would ask him to do something that I wouldn't do myself? Well, you need a little more context. Okay. But I think that you would harass me to go out and poop downstairs and then you would poop when I'm gone.

Yeah, because you would think it was funny. Bob, would you ask me to clean up poop and then because you wouldn't clean up poop? No, you wouldn't do that. I wouldn't do neither.

All right. I would do neither. I just never, I've never seen you go downstairs and go to the bathroom. Maybe you don't go as often as I do and you go before you come up.

Maybe he's like Kim Jong-il and he just doesn't poop. Oh, yeah. Just doesn't poop. Good point.

I know poop. I like God. I know poop. Usually it's a good morning purge.

You know what I mean? Like I get it out of the way. And usually I would go to the gym, and on the way back to the gym, I hit the lobby. On today's episode, micro-penis and poop.

Yeah, you're the same person. Oh, I have three personalities. I like Fight Club, yeah. I like Fight Club.

She's not allowed to do that. I don't understand. - What are you doing? You're sitting here?

- Wait, you're sitting here? - Get up, there's chickens to be fed! - Take care of the chickens! - Go clean the shell of the turtle!

- And then make me a sandwich. - Make yourself a sandwich, and I'll take it. - Make two sandwiches, and I'll have one and a half sandwiches. - Oh, God.

- How long before the sun starts taking his food to him? - You gonna eat that other half? - You gonna eat that? - Give him your other half!

- Mom, he won't give me the sandwich! - Yeah, yeah, yeah. Gregory, you give him that sandwich. You give and you eat these fake chip Pringles.
