ACHP 585 Mayor's Hot Dog Challenge

ACHP 585 Mayor's Hot Dog Challenge

Episode Summary

Episode 585 of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast finds Mike "Palmer" Beattie joined by co-host Greg "Triple G" and guest engineer Michael Szczepankewicz for a mix of headlines, listener comments and a heavy load of cigar industry news. The show opens with CHPod housekeeping — the returning Winged Hussar/Powstanie shirt drop on chpod.com, the Patreon, the CH Pod Lounge giveaway, and the ongoing auction for Phil's butterfly mask — plus listener comments from YouTube and the Lounge about the Illinois boat fatality, the Bug-A-Salt, and one listener's rotation of Powstanie SBC 24, a Connecticut, a Sumatra and a Padrón.

The news block covers Sean "Diddy" Combs getting into an altercation at FCI Fort Dix and his release date being moved up yet again, a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile crossing into Polish airspace (with Zelensky blaming delayed air defense supplies and Donald Tusk consulting NATO), and the sexual harassment complaint filed against St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her by Police Chief Axel Henry over "Wiener Wednesday" texts to city staffers — which becomes the episode's running gag.

Cigar news is the meat of the episode. RoMa Craft Tobac's Craft Marquetry Foreign & Domestic returns this fall — a 4x46 box-pressed petit corona that Skip Martin ordered from the NicaSueño factory for himself, sharing a blend with the Riverside Cigars 15th Anniversary and the upcoming CroMagnon Visigoth. Hoyo de Nicaragua sends its Cuatro Cinco Pata Negra, a 5x56 double robusto with Nicaraguan Habano wrapper, Ecuadorian binder and rum-barrel-aged Nicaraguan filler, to Spain as an annual regional exclusive (700 boxes of 10, roughly $12.30), prompting a discussion of New World cigars filling the gap left by pricey, scarce Cubans. Germany's Cigarren Fabrik August Schuster standardizes packaging and vitolas across the Maria Mancini lines (Classic, Edición Especial, Postre de Banquete), and Maya Selva of Maya Selva Cigars is named a Knight of the Legion of Honor by France.

The hosts also explain the Honduran tariff mystery: per Julian Spring of the Broward Cigar Board blog, Honduras — along with Cambodia, Guatemala, India, Sri Lanka and Trinidad & Tobago — earned a 2.5-point tariff discount by adopting a forced-labor import prohibition, while Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic declined. The show closes with What's the Score using Charlie Minato's Halfwheel review of the H. Upmann Nicaragua by A.J. Fernandez Sun Grown Toro, which scored an 89.

This is a Cigar Hustler Podcast.

You're supposed to go dun-dun-dun! Oh, sorry, we'll try again. Do it one more time. Come on.

This is a Cigar Hustler Podcast. Da-da-da! Wow, he's mean. He is.

On today's show, Diddy gets a reduction in sentence again. How was that even a thing? Poland is going to war. Everybody needs a good wienerin'.

" And howdy, howdy, what is it? Howdy, howdy, howdy. That's supposed to be howdy. How do we get on the Roma info train?

" Standardize the sizes of two. Oh, there's somebody missing. Okay. Maria Mancini standardizes two of its cigars, yes, women can be knights, and we explain the Honduran tariff discount, plus we end the show then with a what's the score.

There was a lot of cigar news going on for this episode, that's a lot. I had added some. Oh, we had? Oh, okay.

Because it wasn't enough. He's a reporter. But first, Mikey, how do we get some of that CHPod swag? What are the comments?

And what's going on? And what's going on? I don't know, I added that at the end. What's going on?

Like and subscribe. We're reviewing and listening to the show. com for all your chpod swag, where you buy one, you get the second one 40% off. Spend $100 more, you're going to get free shipping.

Guess what, guys? You're not going to believe this. What? I was doing an inventory check, and the shirt, actually, ironically, that Greg is wearing today, the Winged Hazard shirt, we actually have those in stock, and I'm going to put them on the chpod site.

Nice. Oh, nice. So they're going to be a limited quantity. They're going to be available for a short period of time.

And then after that, they'll probably integrate into the point system on the site. But for the time being, we're going to offer them to our CHPod members. com, us Cigar Hustlers podcast, where if you pay for the full year, you're going to get 10% off. We have some comments from the CH Pod Lounge.

The lounge. The lounge. The lounge. Yep, yep, yep.

" Ah, damn it, a typo. I really should wear my glasses when I do stuff. Oh, that's beautiful. I'm going to start hiding eater eggs.

Easter eggs, Easter eggs. That way when you're hungry you can eat them. Right, you can eat the eggs. Are you an eater egg?

Is there an edit function on that? I'm sure there is. I don't think so. If not, I can add it.

Yeah, I don't think there's an edit. SmokinBanger says, "Just started listening to your podcast about a week ago and absolutely love what you guys are doing. " Woohoo! Oh, very nice of Mr.

Smoker. Now the deal is, he has to bring one more with him. And that's the deal? Now he has to find someone else and bring a friend.

Like a pyramid scheme. You bring two, they bring two, before you know it, world domination. Yeah, global domination. Well, thank you, Smoking Bangers, and thank you for commenting on The Lounge.

Now, there's a giveaway going, just so everybody knows. I'm not going to say what it is. You have to check it out on The Lounge. It's pinned up top in the comments section.

But you should check that out for sure. Just a quick question, will it always be on top, or when the next episode posts, does it get knocked down in space? I mean, if she wants to be on top, I let her. Okay.

But, you know, it's entirely-- What are we talking about? It's entirely up to her. Just to make it easier for people to find. No, so, like, I added the pin option for pinning stuff.

Oh, okay. So, once it's done, it'll unpin and it'll go away. Gotcha. Make sense?

Yes. Okay. Now some comments from our YouTube channel. @michaelzcigarguy55 says, "The boat incident is not in Chicago.

It was one of the outlying counties. " Now you said that you looked a little further into this and the guy had like three megalodon... He gave me information actually privately. So yeah, he had three big motors across the back.

He's known to zip up and down the waterway there when he's been drinking because it's a regular occurrence. And then there was another news article that showed a picture of the young lady with her head still attached. Her head's still attached, and she was an ex-marine, and she's a, I don't know, for some reason, I was picturing a younger woman, I mean, an older woman, I don't know why. Oh no, she was young.

Yeah, she looks like maybe in her 30s. Oh, very sad. I thought she was in her early 40s or something, from what you said yesterday. Well, it could have been late 30s, early 40s, but yeah, she looked a lot younger than I had anticipated for some reason.

It's a damn shame. And the guy was a habitual ash-ho, huh? Yeah, an older guy. Well, Chi-town would know, because he's a...

In that area. Yeah, he's a guy. So, a person that would know in this area, FloridaMan1888 says: Happy belated birthday to Mike and Jake. By the way, Palmer served a beer to Joe yesterday.

Greg? You breathe into the microphone. Palmer. No?

Yes? Good? Don't hard exhale out of your nose. How about we do that?

Turn your head and breathe. I need you to be more mouth breather. Like you're swimming? I don't want to be a mouth breather.

Like when you're swimming, you turn your head sideways to breathe on a downstroke. I don't swim. I thought you were outdoorsy. I am, but I don't swim.

You don't swim. Maybe if we brought the mic up, then it would be out of his nostril range. It'd be closer, probably. You think so?

I think it would be louder. I'm going with like a nose guard. Don't move your head. Maybe I just tape it to his cheek.

The mic? Yeah. Why don't we have those ones that like, you know, Tony Robbins has? The little one that goes like right here.

You want me to do that for you? You want that? No, you don't have to do that. No, I'm not that much.

Then we're going to look like that other guy that's on that other show. I'm not that much of a prima donna. This is fine. Looks like he's landing a space shuttle.

This is the only episode that this has happened, though. It's got to be because of its placement. It happened a little bit on the last episode. You don't have headphones, so you don't know.

So it says, by the way, Palmer served a beer to Joe yesterday. Way to go, BDP. What day are of killing by Florida, we had a doubleheader. What a day we were having.

What a day we're having in Florida, we had a doubleheader. Yes, because of the... The two executions. Yes.

Yes. Yeah, good day. It was a good day. 1986 murders, and we're taking care of that now.

Taking care of that. 40 years later. Do, do, do. At Lance Frazier, 4748 says: "Is the real T-Money, Superstar, smoking something different than Powstanie, SBC 24?

" I don't get that. I don't know. I mean, he must have been smoking something. Is the real T-Money.

Superstar. That sounds like a reference to me, though. Yeah. Right?

It is, yes. Oh, were you smoking something other than an SPC24? Yeah, were you? Yeah.

Well, yeah, I mean, like, my first cigar of the day is that. Non Segundo, Connecticut. Right. Ooh, Postal in Connecticut.

Then it's this. Shiny, shiny SPC24. And then it's usually a Sumatra, and then RSA, or potentially a Padron. And then I'd like to finish with a fine Chianti.

All right, my servant brings me one pretty late to me, you know. I ate her liver with some fava beans, he's our Hannibal Lecter. They grow their own fava beans. Yeah.

In his fields. " I've seen Allegedly shirts from other podcasts. Oh, have you? Yeah.

I thought it was a great idea. That's not a bad idea, though, just the word on a stick, so every time I'm speaking, I can just hold up the sign, that way we're covered, right? Allegedly. Or you just tattoo it on your forehead.

Yeah, that's a great idea, we'll definitely do that. Yeah, I wouldn't mind an allegedly shirt, I'd have to think about how it would look so it would be different than some of these other podcasts. @DavidHasselhoffman says, "Same thing happened in our county in Illinois. Guy was drunk, ran into another boat, and killed a lady.

He didn't serve any time. Oh, wow. Ooh, so listen, we're getting mixed reviews here from the Illinoisians, you know? Illinoisians.

Could go either way. " It really is. Oh, the gun that shoots the salt. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I used it last night on my patio that we had a fly. I was like, ooh, get me my... Just droid that fly. He gave me my weapon!

And someone brought it to me, and it was low on salt, so it took several shots, but we got it done. And then I delivered a death blow after he was down, just to confirm. Ah, double tap. Yep, yep.

" What? He's talking, he's referencing his... Oh, the fake account. I Heart Palmers and all these other things, yeah.

Oh, so he is one of them, but you got the wrong one. That's okay, I don't have that much time to figure it out. Nor do I care. It's just been the afternoon.

It's Palmer. Going through all of them. It's Palmer. We'll just go back to that.

It's Palmer. Right. There he is. Oh, hello.

Yeah. com website. The lounge. Yeah.

Sounds much better. I like when you say the lounge. The lounge. The lounge.

Yes, very fancy. That's where Greg Triple G hangs out. Greg, yeah, I frequent there. And I'm constantly going to be working on it and getting it better and improving it.

So thank you very much for joining and we appreciate you guys. Now, let's get on with the show. Sean Diddy Combs was involved in a fight at a federal prison where he is currently serving a 50-month Once sentenced for transporting prostitutes, is that what they got him for? Yeah.

Just driving them around? He moved people for sex trafficking across state lines is the bottom line. Oh. A source familiar with the incident told ABC News the other inmate involved in the altercation made a remark to Combs which instigated the event.

The source said Combs was sent to solitary confinement according to a source. It is unclear if he will be temporarily in solitary confinement or if he will be long-term. A spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons said the agency does not comment on the conditions of confinement, disciplinary matters, or other information regarding individual inmates due to privacy, safety, and security concerns. So he got in a fight.

How was he not segregated? Like, how was he not separated from the other animals that are in prison? Because, like, it's just a liability for extortion. Is he in a regular prison, or is he in, like, a soft prison?

He can't be that soft. He just got into an altercation. Well, you can get to fight anywhere. No, no, no.

He's definitely in a soft prison. Yeah, yeah. He's not like, you know, in Gen Pop where all the murderers and the killers are. Like the old lady that did the insider trading thing, where she went?

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Where she met, uh, what's his name? Wow, there was a lot of information in between both you and I on that one. Two complete idiots.

I know exactly who you're thinking of. I didn't think of her name. We're terrible with this game. First of all, first of all, she did not meet Snoop Dogg in prison.

No, I thought you meant Snoop in prison. That's where they became friends. Because... They met in the yard.

Snoop Dogg is not a felon. They were playing ball in the yard or lifting weights together. Snoop Dogg. Martha Stewart, I remember your name.

There you go, Martha. He got Snoop Dogg, I got Martha Stewart. You, goose egg. Nothing.

Nothing. Nothing. Isn't that where she met that one guy with the thing? It was on that day.

Right, they were lifting weights. Yeah. So yeah, I would assume that he's got to be in like something like that, you know, a federal penitentiary. No, he's not in the fed.

Aren't they less rare? He's someplace that has a cantina, maybe not really guards, you know, they have a split rail fence, not razor wire. He's still getting into fights. Well, he can get a fight anywhere.

Is Diddy in a federal penitentiary? Probably, he's gotta be. Combs is incarcerated at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dixon. a new jersey low security federal penitentiary low security low security federal penitentiary yeah so country club country tennis courts they have uh well now they have pickle i heard they had pickleball now there you know because that's probably what the fight was it was just turn on the pickleball yes because somebody shot into the sink or something like that whatever the term is you're not allowed to shoot into the sink you can't stand in the kitchen yeah this is the In the kitchen sand, you can't squat in the living room.

There's only the blue artificial sweetener. They don't have the pink and the yellow. Where's my splendor? His release date changed from February 23rd, 2028, to January 24th, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prison Records viewed by E!

News after the fight. So every time he gets in a fight and has a problem, they bump him up. Yeah, that's part of our system. He is currently serving a four-year prison sentence for prostitution-related charges.

The new change marks the fifth time Combs' release date has been updated as he was initially said to be released on May 28th, 2028, during his sentencing. The date was later pushed to June 4th before moving again to April 25th. It was then updated again to April 15th and then moved to February and now January. Wouldn't it be great if it, allegedly, allegedly, allegedly, if it's like 50 on the phone calling up a boy, "Yo, go shove this dude real quick, right?

" Oh, man, 30 Gs, the first guy slugs him. But every time he gets in a fight, they move him up. He's gonna be released tomorrow, eventually. Isn't that kind of weird that his is constantly being updated, meanwhile other people are trying to, like, appeal and do all these other things?

Right. " Yeah, yeah. Oh, money. Is it like kindergarten, where he gets, like, stickers for being good on the day or something?

He gets a little smiley faces? They put a superstar on his calendar. You get a star. Did you get stars in kindergarten, Greg?

I don't remember. You don't remember? I remember I used to get stickers. One day I didn't get a sticker.

One day. Been scarred ever since. This is why he's so angry. Because of the one day without a sticker.

Why don't you give him stickers here? I remember. Oh, yes. I remember getting in the car and I was like, where's your sticker?

I'm like, no, no sticker. Not today. When I was in school, they didn't have stickers. We got rocks.

- They gave you rocks? - Yeah, they invented stickers yet. - It was before the invention of stickers, that's why. - Yeah, before the invention of stickers, we got little pebbles.

- Yeah. - You did a good job, you got a big rock. - Oh, God. - Your parents had to, they had to pedal on the ground when they would drive off?

Is that what they would do? - No, we had a horse, there was no-- - Oh, there was a horse? - Yeah, there was no cars. - Yabba-dabba-doo.

- Yeah, Greg got the reference. - I got the reference, I was just trying to say it was before even that. - Before the horse-- - There were dinosaurs around that. - We've been over the fact that my father had a pet dinosaur before.

Called Dino. Called Dino? No, Dino. It's not fancy.

Don't say Dino. Okay. It wasn't a French dinosaur. Okay.

All right. All right. Ukraine President Vladimir Zelensky blamed insufficient or delayed air defense supplies for the deaths of several people across Ukraine. The last wave of Russian drone and missile strikes launched on Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

During the attack, authorities in Poland, which borders Ukraine to the west, said that an unidentified The Unified Object Violated National Airspace, Prompting the Deployment of Their Fighter, Jet, and A Helicopter. Sounds like you guys only have the one? The one jet? The jet and the helicopter.

We sent the fighter pilot, yeah, the jet and the helicopter. Sent the one? Yeah, send them both. We don't know what it is, send them both.

Send them both. Ukraine Foreign Minister Andryl Sabiha alleged on X that the object that crossed into Poland was a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile. Well, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in a post on Ex that, I guess you guys are big with the x over there, 'cause it's just, you can spell it, 'cause it's just the one letter. Ah, that's a good joke.

Thank you very much. That's a good joke. I like it. That he was in contact with- Oh, you got Polish jokes now.

Okay. He was in contact with NATO. Four letters, you guys spell it too. That's two.

To be fair, we were picking on his age here less than 45 seconds ago. That's right. Command and other European leaders, regarding the violation of Polish airspace, everyone to He declares full solidarity and readiness for any assistance. Poland's Operational Command, you guys have an operational command.

Yeah. Yeah, for the helicopter and the plane. The helicopter and the plane. For the two.

For the one and the one. Said that the fighter was scrambled and air defense systems put on an alert in response to the intense combat activity over the border in Ukraine. Good for you guys. Yeah.

No longer got to throw rocks and things. You guys got that one plane. Yeah, we got the helicopter and the jet. Good job, it's good.

- Yeah. - Good. - Okay. I think, first of all, I think a lot of people use X because X is...

- World? - Well, it's not regulated as, I would say, as much as the Book of Face or the Gram of Insta or the Tick of Talk. - Allegedly. - Allegedly.

- Very news. - That's why I said I would think. - Yeah. - Very news central too, I believe.

- Yeah. - Yeah. - Yeah, no, it's a good platform, I think. I have never used it.

So then you don't even get to chime in. Well, I just like the fact that what you just said is that it's not very regulated. Yeah. It's a true voice.

That's why Elon bought it or whatever. And then lost money with it. And then fired a bunch of people. Yeah.

I don't need you. I don't need you. Yeah. There's only one letter in the name.

We don't need these many people. Yeah. Let's get rid of the bird. Yeah, get rid of the bird.

Okay. Nobody can spell bird. So, Ukraine had some attacks, they said that Poland didn't react fast enough, is that what they're saying? No, one of the Russian missiles went over Poland.

Yeah, it went into your airspace. So, now Poland's getting involved. Yeah, so they sent the fighter and the helicopter to see what in the world it was, it was a cruise missile, and now you guys are on high alert. You guys, you border the Ukraine.

They need that big, like, mosquito laser thing for the missiles. I saw that again yesterday on the computer. The iron dome of insects. I'll tell you what, we've got enough monetized money, I'm getting one of those things.

And I'll post videos about zapping things on my backyard. He'll just sit out back and videotape. Choo, choo, choo, choo, choo, choo, choo, choo. Siquitos all over the city.

We're going, don't go over there. All right, the Democratic mayor in Minnesota is being investigated for sexual harassment after she allegedly sent nauseating text messages to the staffers. Nauseating. Nauseating.

Including one about getting a good wiener ring. I could use a good wiener ring. Kayholi Hare, she's Asian, the first female mayor of St. Paul, is being probed just six months into her term after the police chief, Axel Harry, filed a formal complaint with the city attorney on April 1st, alleging that she inappropriately and indeed unlawfully texted messages to city staffers.

In one disturbing chain of texts, her 53, wished a staffer a Happy Wiener Wednesday. What is wrong with that? She doesn't mean hot dog, Greg. I mean, would you say Happy Wiener Wednesday to one of your employees?

I think I've said far worse to our employees. No way. No way. I know that you're saying that, but I don't believe that.

I mean, you know, we say, you say things in a jovial context, but never in a sexual manner. But don't you think that it was meant in a jovial context? I mean, it's very possible. I like the fact that you're arguing that, but it's not, you know what I mean?

She's from Korea, her family's Korean, but she has been here since she was a child, because originally I thought, well, maybe she's just, you know, doesn't... Loss in translation type thing, wiener actually means birthday candle, yeah, right, something like that. Well, the other thing here too, Greg, is you're not in public office. True.

Yes, I would conduct myself within different guidelines if I was in public office. Yeah, you run a Cigar Star. Yeah, that's true. Right, I mean, there's a lot of things that we talk about here that, in a regular place.

But again, I see that comment as being jovial. Like, it was a joke. It's easy to analyze it either way, because you're just looking at a fragment of what has happened, right? Yes, let's read on.

Yeah, let's find out more, let's find out more. " Well, no. No, I couldn't justify that at all. No.

I'm trying. No, no. " The text continues. Greg, Greg, go ahead.

Let's defend that. We're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're pushing a line here. Maybe she just wants to have lunch. Maybe she's a, you know, maybe she really likes hot dogs.

Yeah, maybe she's a huge Costco person. But to be fair, I thought the international emoji for wiener was the eggplant, so maybe she did genuinely mean hot dogs. Maybe she feels that the eggplant. Maybe she really likes hot dogs.

Maybe she really likes hot dogs, because if she wanted the wiener, she would have used the eggplant emoji. Maybe she feels that the eggplant emoji is just too thick. You know what? She should call me.

I could be her defense attorney. I got it under control. Let's read on. Let's read on.

" I'm waiting on the defense for this one. Yeah, it's a little... A little suggestive? Getting a good wienering.

Wrapped up in her blanket. Her blanket. Okay, we're at our third flag at this point. Our third flag.

Yeah, I mean, I can't wait to see what the next one is. Is there another one? The face of the baby in the alternate image was redacted in the complaint, however, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported that it was the face of an officer who had previously worked as part of her security team.

So, she's saying that that person, who we don't know is male or female at this point, potentially got a wienering and then was wrapped in a blanket. Right, right, right. She's got enough time for AI imagery is what she's telling me. There you go.

While the term wiener can refer to hot dogs, it also has sexual connotations. The city is on notice that Mayor Hur, that's how you say her last name, I guess, Mayor Hur, was engaged in illegal conduct towards city employees. Henry's Law, Chris, and his lawyer, Chris Medell, wrote in the complaint sent to St. Paul City Attorney Irene Kow.

Medell has called for a full file system extraction of the cell phones. Henry, who was named police chief in November 2022, filed the complaint after receiving reports that the alleged behavior extended beyond an isolated incident and has included sexual harassment of subordinate city employees, including members of the St. Paul Police Department. " Conduct will not be tolerated.

What is going on in Minnesota, man? There's always, I feel like they're in the news every 60 days. It's cold, they're bored. Yeah, it's cold, the bored, there's not a lot to do.

They don't have the leg problem that they have over in Chicago, so. Everybody needs a good wienering. Now that I'm mayor, I request a thorough Wednesday wienering. Everyone, take five and get a wiener.

I proclaim, Wednesday is Wiener Wednesday. Everyone, wrap in your blankets your wieners. Can you imagine if Greg worked in the office? She's like, yeah, maybe she just likes hot dogs.

You know what I mean? It wasn't an eggplant emoji. You won't, come on. Obviously, it means hot dogs.

Maybe she's not that hip. She doesn't know to use the eggplant. Trying to explain this to his wife? Like, what?

No, she's like, I don't understand. She just likes to go to lunch. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, yeah, she's sending me nudes, but I just think she just wants me to look at her physique, right?

She's into the arts is what it is. Yeah, she's into the arts. I don't think you want nudes with this woman. And, you know, to say it's eggplant Wednesday, not as good.

That doesn't roll up the top. Yeah. Wiener Wednesday. There's no alliteration there.

Wiener Wednesday. Yeah. Exactly. Ooh, big word.

They used it correctly. All right, moving into Cigar News. Roma Craft's Foreign and Domestic is returning this fall. The Craft Marquette Foreign and Domestic release last year as part of Roma Craft Tobac's Craft Marquette series will be returning to shelves this fall.

It's the first time that a Craft Marquette series has gotten the second release. Where does he release this information? He doesn't do press releases, does he? Probably.

No, that's not what he does. What he does is he posts it on social media, and then Charlie picks up on it, and then he releases it. That makes more sense. That's how Half Wheel gets it, and that's why, like, some of these other guys get pissed off, like, well, you need to send press releases.

Or you just need to pay attention to social media, right. Or, yeah, if you want to be news, then you should probably do news work. Or just steal it from somebody else, like we do. Thank you, Half Wheel.

We should be the second one who will release this. Now Palmer, the news. Yes, Skip Martin, co-founder of Roma Craft Tobac, said he liked the cigars so much that he personally placed an order with the Nikaswinia factory, which he also co-owns for more cigars for him to smoke. Rather than keeping all of them, some will be sent to stores.

The Craft Marquette Foreign and Domestic is a 4x46 box-pressed Petit Corona. When the cigar was first released, Martin declined to publicly disclose most of the blend info, but we now know a lot more about the blend. That's because he later went on to disclose that the Foreign Domestic at Riverside 15th Anniversary cigars are not only uses the same blend, but one another, but share a blend with the upcoming Cro-Magnum Visigoth, which I believe is also available at Riverside this weekend. No, Visigoth already?

Saw a picture yesterday on the social medias. It could be that Skip was there smoking it. It was a big pile of them on the table. For Skip to smoke?

Like, 45 boxes? 45 boxes is a lot for Skip the Smoking. Maybe 25? Let's say 25.

That's a lot. Really? Yeah. Oh boy.

Let me get on this. Look here. It's on Riverside's. It's on Riverside's?

Yeah. On their Facebook page? No. Either Facebook or Instagram.

I don't know. I'm on both all the time. I mean, good for Jeff. Yeah.

Which is also due out later. And he did say that given you come to something and you may get a free one. It's a free one. Oh, sneak peek of Visigoth.

Right. Wow. Oh, yeah, yeah. Go see Jeff at Riverside Cigar.

Maybe you can get them. First of all, but the only thing that you're seeing, the boxes that you're seeing there, buddy? Yeah. They look like they're Riverside, they say Riverside Cigars on them.

Yeah, that's probably his limited edition. Oh, you think that's his anniversary cigar thing? Yeah. Could be, but he does say in the text that you might get a free Visigoth.

I believe it does. There's two bundles of Visigoth there. Ah. Yeah, so get it right, buddy.

I'm not reporting that news. I'm just telling you what I saw. I heard rumors that Skip is actually working in the lounge for the week. Skip, we would love you to come in here and we will record everything that you do if you want to come and work our retail space as well.

We think that would be fantastic and also dangerous. We did discuss having him actually come in and running the register and slinging cigars. I think it would be entertaining. I think it would be entertaining.

Yeah, it would be great. It would be great. But we were going to mic you up. We're going to mic you up.

Oh, yeah. We're going to mic you up and we're going to get video content of this. God, I hope he says yes. That'd be awesome.

Yeah. Just spend a couple days, you know what I mean? Just doing it. Yeah.

And listen, we understand that there are caveats to that. You can come in and pick apart everything that we're doing wrong and tell us all the things, all the mistakes that we're making so that we can correct them. And we know that it's just you trying to make us better. And then bring some Visigoths.

I don't know. Maybe one or two. One or two Visigoths. Another sneaky, an extra second sneak peek.

Sneaky peek. Sneaky peek. We'll call it Wiener Wednesday. Oh, can we do this next Wednesday?

That would be awesome. Wiener Wednesday. Wiener Wednesday. Wiener Wednesday.

Oh, beautiful. You know what, though? That does give me a thought. If he's releasing F&D, why wouldn't we just re-release a catastrophic failure?

Like, we looked at all the others, some Sumatra, the people who carried Sumatra, like the whole line, and then offer it to them maybe next year or something like that. Oh, yeah. You know, the blend already exists. Right.

Right. So, I don't know, just food for thought. I like it. We're buzzing.

Yeah. Don't touch anything. I'm not. Hoy de Nicaragua, cuatro, cinco, pata negra, heading to Spain next month.

Hmm. Okay. Right, I don't know, I needed news. S.

While it's known mostly because of the large sales volume of Cuban cigars, for some non-Cuban brands, it's a very important market. One of those companies is Hoya de Nicaragua. Since 2022, Hoya de Nicaragua has been releasing an annual regional exclusive for Spanish retailers under the name Pata Negra. - Spain.

- Spanish for Black Hoof. - Hmm. Pata Negra. - And a reference to the type of Iberian ham.

Ah. Are they big ham? Oh, I'm learning something. This is very nice.

Ahoyah? Each year, ahoyah day. We love ham. We're naming a cigar after ham.

In a press release, the CEO announced we like ham. We will be releasing sandwiches right after this. A sneak peek of some sandwiches. See, it is a 5x56 double Robusto with a pigtail cap.

Blend wise, it uses a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan fillers. Some of the fillers were aged in spent rum barrels. Mmm. No ham cans, though.

No ham. No ham. Rum. Each cigar is an MSRP of?

We have euros and we have freedom dollars. We only say freedom dollars. All right. Freedom dollar price?

Greg? Mmm, 12 freedom dollars. $16. 30.

Oh. Oh. Look at the faces that he's making. He's getting better at this.

He is. The longer he's on. I started doing his $16. Right, I did his $16.

Yeah. We reversed roles. Yeah. Oh, I will put the fireworks behind you tomorrow.

Yeah, there we go. Oh, fireworks behind you. The hell you will. That's not happening.

Production is limited to 700 boxes of 10 cigars. They're expected to ship in early August. This Pata Negra edition has been a dream for many over the past years. And for a 2026 release, we decided to raise the bar with Cuatro Cinco, said Juan Ignacio Martinez, He was seen as the executive president of Hoya de Nicaragua in press release.

" And we like ham. " I thought it said ham. Ham-crafted. Ham-crafted by the most experienced rollers at our factory, the cigar was created to delight the most discerning sandwich-eater in the Liberian Peninsula.

Sandwich-eater? Those who truly recognize and appreciate the excellence of a great ham. This is the fifth pot that I'm going to release. Okay, so why do you think this is happening?

We're seeing more and more New World cigars reaching out throughout the world, right? Yes. Why do you think it's happening, Palmer? Well, we sort of talked about this with Gerard on Monday, that the prices of Cubans and the availability of Cubans is not what it used to be, so they're clamoring for more New World cigars.

Damn, that was a good answer. Greg? It is completely that. Having conversations with people in Canada that are trying to fill that void, absolutely.

It's due to the fact that they can't get more Cuban cigars. At the price point, when they can't. Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. The consumers are pushing back.

There are just as good, if not better, cigars coming out of different regions globally. Why wouldn't you want access to those products? Right. What's Polish for Turkey?

We should make one that tastes like Turkey. Turkey? A Turkey one? A Turkey, a Turkey cigar from Postanya.

Released in November? Oh, yeah, Thanksgiving. - Yeah. - Doesn't somebody already do that?

Isn't there a white meat and a dark meat? - Viaje. - Yeah, Viaje does. But it's not Polish.

- That's true, it's not Polish. - Yeah, it's not Polish meat. - Or, wait, we should call it the one fighter. - The one what?

- The one fighter? - Fighter. - Yeah, the one fighter. - Oh, it's in the pilot, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

- Okay, I'm sorry. Earlier in the show... - Yeah, I remember now. - We talked about...

- I'll realize this when I look through the transcripts later. - The transcripts? - It's called a callback. - Yeah, I got it.

- You reference something you've already spoken about to get more funding. - Got it, more funding. - All right, more funding. Yeah, he'll be fine.

Greg, what's the price of the cigar again? 30. See, there you go. He does have his strengths.

Schuster continues the Maria Mancini. Okay. Oh, I thought maybe... And that's the news.

All right. And thanks for playing. Now on to the weather. The rest of it's in German, so, you know.

Cigar and Fabrik, August Schuster, the Bund, Germany-based cigar manufacturer and distributor, The company has announced that it has updated the packaging and standardizes the sizes of the two Maria Mancini lines. Last year, the Maria Classic line underwent a package update. Now, the new look for the addition special and poster de banquet lines are heading to stores in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, Schuster has stressed that the blends themselves remain unchanged. We are just changing the boxes.

We're not making fun of them? Because we like them. We do like them. Previously, the lines in more sizes.

We make fun of everybody, just for the record. Well, I know. But there are some people where I try to dial it back a little bit. Just because you want to know what it is because you like them, but you don't know them well enough, right?

Right. Yeah. Well, he introduced me to his sister again at the PCA this year. Oh, that's nice.

I can't think of anything to make fun of them about from the interactions that we've had with them. There's like nothing. I'm like... Oh, I could do an accent when I read the story.

We could poke at that. I don't have anything. I could do an accent when I read the story. Okay, yeah.

I could. Yeah, all right, fair. Oh, I like them, they're nice people. Yeah.

Going forward, the three lines share the same basic brand identity and come in streamlined and more modern-look 25-count boxes. They are very lovely boxes. All three lines are offered in the same four Batolas. All three lines are made in Honduras.

The classic is described as mild, addition especial, as medium, and the poster de banquet as the fullest. The brand is named after Maria Mancini, the middle of five sisters who were nieces to the Cardinal Mazarin. She became a love interest of King Louis IV of France. Wow, a lot of history there.

Though the Cardinal and the King's mother worked to prevent the two from marrying. Oh, there was a Romeo and Juliet thing going on there. Wow, that's tough. Okay, before you get further into the news, I did forget one thing about the CH Pod auction.

CHPOD Auction is still currently at $46 for the Phil Butterfly Mask, and the comments on that recently are from Christopher Weiss, oh wait, no, I'm getting excited, he's currently leading, he knows that it's getting close, by the time this delivers, there's like maybe six hours, maybe 12 hours left at best, so, hmm, and the Real BDP said, "This just in, he also wore it He used to wear it as his underwear for two solid days. Nice. Wow. Could be some DNA on it.

Definitely DNA. If that helps, you know, I just found that out. You just, allegedly? No, no, he told me.

He told you? He told me. " Yeah. You guys don't tell anybody, but, so I immediately put it up.

Yeah, instantly. Instantly, right. All right, we talked about the 301 tariffs the other day, the increases. Yes.

And there was no increase for Honduras, and we were wondering why. Yeah. Right. All right.

Mr. Julian Spring, who writes the Broward Cigar Board blog, reached out to me, and he explained why that, why that happened. Oh, very nice of Mr. Julian.

Yes. Honduras got the lower number for a reason. USTR states plainly its adoption of a forced labor import prohibition subsequent, ah, subsequent, ah, subsequent, ah, subsequent, I can know the word. Subsequently.

Thank you. To the publication of the June 5th, 2026 FRN documents, Cambodia, Guatemala, India, Sri Lanka, Trinidad, and Tobago earned the same discount. 5 points on your tariff if you say, "We have no forced labor. " How do they determine that?

You just gotta sign something? Yeah, exactly. Yeah, it's a piece of paper that says it. It's a piece of paper.

" Exactly. Agua and Santo Domingo refuse to pass the law. Nothing going on here. You can carry on.

Right. Just two and a half percent. We're keeping the children in the open. Yeah.

Okay. So that's why. " Yeah. " Oh.

Same idea. I was unaware of that. Why do you think DR wouldn't sign it? It's a pride thing, not allowing another country to dictate what's going to happen within your own borders.

That makes sense. , but it's hard to say from the DR, I didn't really see that coming. Yeah, it's more of a vacation spot than a cigar thing, so aren't they very American friendly? They wanted us all to come there and drink their fake liquor.

And bring money. Right, and bring money. Fake liquor? For a couple of years, it was a big problem.

There were people getting poisoned from the bootleg liquor. Really? Allegedly? Well, it was in the news, so we can say allegedly.

So it had to be a legend, yeah. We can say allegedly. But I have a friend who it happened to. Did he die?

Almost. Luckily, there was a nurse and his group of people that had traveled together, so she knew what to do. Which was? I don't remember.

I don't remember. Hmm. Wiener Wednesday. Wiener Wednesday.

Wiener Wednesday. Fix the alcohol poisoning. Could be it, guys. I don't know.

Also, alcohol poisoning can incite Wiener Wednesday. Bend over and relax. There you go. Right.

Hmm. All right. Maya Selva. You guys all familiar with Maya?

Mm-mm. Yes. She has that line of cigars from Maya Selva? Mm-mm.

Mm-mm. He really doesn't know things. He has no clue. No.

Nothing that's going on. No. You've never heard of Maya Selva cigars? Can't say that I have.

OK. Anyway, she was appointed as Knight of the Legion of Honor. Knight of Legion of Honor. Maya Selva, founder of Maya Selva Cigars, has been appointed Knight of the Legion of Honor by the President of France.

Part of the July 14, 2026 promotion, this highest French order of merit recognizes her success as the founder of a premium handmade cigar production and distribution company. So they're just giving them out in France then? Apparently. I mean, Nick's got the one in Ethiopia.

He's been in Ethiopia. Right, he's got that locked up. That's like a bigger dub. Right.

If you ask me. Oh, you think so? Hell yeah. Think Ethiopia's a bigger country than France?

I feel like the Ethiopian one was, you know. He had to do something. Yeah. There was some sort of a ritual.

Yeah. For him to actually be knighted there. Yeah. She's a woman though.

They don't get many knight women. There's only her and then the one that's in Game of Thrones. From France? No, no.

That's a knight. There's a woman, you know, right there at the end before they fought the Legion of the Dead or whatever they call it. The big one? The big one?

Yeah, the big lady, the blonde lady. Yeah. Yeah, they knighted her. A knight can make a knight, apparently.

Oh, okay. A lot of knighting? A lot of knighting going on. Okay.

So that's exciting. We're excited. Okay. " Oh, good.

" So, we will pull one at random. Oh, boy. Here we go. He's gonna do this one from the hip?

I love it. I've done this before. Oh, this is beautiful. A little ad-lib, nice pivot, a little ad-lib.

You don't even have the description of what's the score, let's play what's the score? No, I don't have that either. Oh, no, no, I can do that, want me to do that? Pull in an audible.

Yeah, start there. Pull in an audible. I mean, we have new listeners like Lance, and they want to know what's going on. All right, hold on, let me go to the what's the score.

Carry the one, carry the one, get the abacus. Nice go to yesterday's what's the score. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. All right.

This is fun watching him scrolling. Scrolling. Scrolling. A lot of information, a lot of information, a lot of information.

This is how I'm used to seeing him throughout the day. What are you doing? I'm not sure. Checking my TikTok.

I'm on X. I'm buying stuff on the TikTok shop. All right, now it's time to play: What's the Score? Players hear clues from a Half Wheel Cigar review and try to predict the score before it's revealed.

As more details are shared, the challenge gets easier. Or does it? The closest guess to the actual score wins the round. Can you read between the lines and predict the score?

Let's play What's the Score? Today's Cigar. What is Today's Cigar? The H.

J. Fernandez, Sunrise Toro. J. By Charlie Minato.

No. Wait, this is... Yeah, okay, hold on. Hold on.

All right. It is from July 29, 2026, Charlie Minato. July 2026. July 29th.

It was a recent one. Very recent. What was at the top? It was easy to find as well as it was.

Here we go. That's correct. That's correct. All right.

Shall I go first? The scores, gentlemen. I can't go any further without you. I'll go first.

Stop. Oh, geez. You know, you're coming at us like you got your shit together and you don't. I do have my shit together.

It's right here. I plan on doing this. Right here on my phone. 88.

That's always like my initial number. So I, too, I'm going to say 88. All right. Cigar Reviewed, The H.

J. J. J. J.

Rapper, Ecuadorian, Connecticut Seed, Binder, Nicaraguan, Filler, Nicaraguan, Length, 6x54, they smoked 3. I'm going to dust the loser off me and go 89. I'm going to stay with 88. I should have said 89, that would be fun.

Alright, clue number one. The front section of the third cigar would be a candidate for having the cleanest wrapper of any cigar I've smoked this year. Cleanest, as in... Cleanest, take it how you want.

Non-dirty? Take it how you want, I don't know. Okay, so here's what I'm going to tell you. So, it's in Ecuadorian, Connecticut.

So, normally there's different shades of Ecuadorian, Connecticut. And like the lightest, the cleanest kind is like the blonde, right? Yes. So what he's referencing is that it looks...

It's color. Yeah, it has no dark knots, like little shades, it has no green little dots, which you see from time to time. Sunspots. Yeah, any of that sort of thing.

Uh, I'm still, so, I'm gonna stick with 89. Hmm, I'm going to move to 89. You rat bastard. Now I got the dirt back on me.

Alright, clue number two. The first cigar starts with coughing to a sharp bit of spiciness before sweetwood, creaminess, red apple, and barnyard emerge around medium full. The second and third cigars are smoother with sweet grains dominating the second and sweetened coffee with chocolate and caramel on the third. 90.

Get the loser off me again. Just shake him off. 91. Third clue.

Retro hails in the first third have me confused. In the notes of my first cigar, I write that it feels like the profile is heading in 25 different directions. It's probably not 25, but I do think it's trying to go in multiple opposite paths at the same time. There is a sensible mixture of nuttiness, woodiness, and pepper, but also some tartness that seems out of place 87 88 final thought oh we're already on final thought yes when i first started smoking cigars oliva's nub brand was coming down from what was likely the peak of his popularity nub was marketed under the idea that its unique dimension delivered Oh my god.

Oh my god. In many ways, this is, yeah, it's very long. This is more or less, what we call the cigar cigar cigar. The cigar cigar cigar was a little bit more, but it was a little bit more, but it was a little bit more.

It was a little bit more, but it was a little bit more, but it was a little bit more, but it was a little bit more. It was a little bit more, but it was a little bit more, but it was a little bit more, but it was a little bit more. It was a little bit more, but it was a little bit more, but it was a little bit more, but it was a little bit more. Oh my god.

It was a little bit more, but it was a little bit more. Oh my god. Take a long. J.

Fernandez made Connecticut cigar. Oh, it goes on and on. That's where we're stopping. No more clues.

Give me like the last sentence. Give me like the last sentence. Give me the third word from the last five sentences. For many, that might be a great sweet spot.

Want me to go back a little further? No, no, that's fine. Oh, wait. F.

experience without the requisite nicotine. There you go, that helps you out. 89. That was what I was gonna say.

No, you're not. Yeah, I was gonna say it. You must pick something else. I was gonna say it.

I was gonna say it. No, you're the rule, you cannot use... You guys just enacted this rule. It's a new rule.

It's a new rule. We've never had it happen before. Yeah. It's a new rule.

It's not fair. It's not fair. The regular goofball we have on the show knows. 89.

88. It was 89. Oh! That's what I wanted to say!

Let's go! Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!

It's a matter of time before we burn this place down. Loser, right there. Look at that. Look at the loser.

Loser. Loser. I'm not allowed to say the same number. That's right.

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I like that rule. It's a good rule.

Well, I mean, you can't end in a tie. Yeah. How good is that? Yeah, and that's...

Sure you can, unless it's like a playoff. No, it's good, and that's the trade-off from going first, right? Because it's hard to pick that number, and someone goes higher or lower, it's like, you can't pick the same number. I mean, that's a good point, as far as your perspective.

Can't argue with that logic. I have good points. Can't argue with that logic. But, a wiener could be an eggplant.

A wiener could be an eggplant, an eggplant could be a wiener. We're not sure at this point. Do you have anything else to add, Mr. Palmer?

We're gonna go run for mayor in Minnesota, so we can make sexually harassed quotes and things. Oh, perfect. And then a possible Somalian daycare? Yeah, Somalian daycare, right, yeah.

A lot of money in that, I heard, it's a pretty good deal. Don't even have to spell the name right on the building. Yeah, you can drive a Maybach, it's all right, it's all right. That's it?

That's it, it's all I got. Okay, like and subscribe, review and listen to the show. com, where for a limited time you can get that Winged Hazara's Posanna shirt, right there, boom. com, Cigar Hustles Podcast.

That actual one, the one Greg's wearing. Oh, I'll take it off. Yeah, that'll be on the auction. Greg's shirt.

Greg's shirt. Greg's shirt. And that's all I got. So thank you very much.

We hope we provided great edutainment for you today. And Palmer? All right, guys. Thank you very much.

We gotta go. Bloop.
