So back in October, Florida
passed one of those big laws
that has a bunch of little laws
hidden in it.
Oh.
That sneaky sneaky.
Sneaky, sneaky, yes, yes.
So Florida's new license plate
crackdown What you need to know
before you get pulled over just
started Monday, Florida.
Just tighten the screws on
anything that even slightly gets
in the way of your license
plate.
And the new rules are catching a
lot of drivers off guard as
October 1st, 2025 Florida statue
320.061 got a major update.
And it's pretty simple.
Anything covers, distorts,
tents, flips, darkens, or
decorates your plate in any way
that affects how easily can be
read is not legal.
Period.
Any frame around your license
plate is illegal.
Now any frame.
Any frame that covers up any of
the wording.
So most license plate frames, as
I looked today when I was
driving around as everybody has
one, covers up the Florida part
of it.
So the AI scanner thing that
scans you when you run a red
light or at the toll booth or
something can't tell what state
you're from when it reads your
plate.
So no more frame.
No more frames.
All frames are illegal.
And thanks to House Bill 253,
that's the one it was part of
253253.
The state now has more teeth
behind enforcing it.
Using any kind of license plate
obscuring device, even something
as basic as a frame that
overlaps part of your numbers or
stickers can now be charged as a
second degree misdemeanor.
OK, under the revised law you
can't use anything that
interferes with the plates
visibility or readability,
including decorative or
dealership frames that cover any
part of the numbers, stickers,
or even the state name.
Clear plastic covers, tinted
Shields, vinyl wraps, reflective
coatings, or any additions that
distort or darken the plate are
illegal flip devices.
I don't think I thought that was
already illegal flip devices or
plate hiding gadgets.
Those are bad.
The plate is invisible exactly
as the state issued it.
Odds are it's illegal.
So here's what happens if they
catch you and they can pull you
over for this.
Tell me.
It's a second degree misdemeanor
mentioned up to 60 days in jail
and or a $500 fine.
I think they'd probably go the
$500 fine route, you know?
Well, I don't, I don't know if
you get to pick.
I don't know how that works you.
Think it's up to the judgement
of the police officer pulls you
over like come on, you're coming
with us.
I don't know, I I take it so
long and I I'd never go to
court.
If I get a ticket I just pay it.
So ticket, clinic or.
Well depends on what it is and
if I have any points already.
OK is that the way it works?
You get to pick when they pay
the fine or go to jail?
Or is it up to the to the
officer?
Probably up to the judge or
something like that, right?
They'll probably look at your
record and see if there's, you
know, previous yada yada, right
you've.
Done this before or something?
Yeah, law enforcement agencies
across Florida already issuing
more citations, and even plates
with harmless frames are getting
flagged.
Bottom line, if you've got a
frame cover or anything mounted
around your plate, now is the
time to double check it.
The state isn't playing around,
and that little decorative
border might cost you more than
you think.
I'll be taking mine off.

taking mine off too.

OK, so who do you think it hurts
the most as far as losing the
frames?
I think well from what I saw
today, most of them are
dealership type things.
So like if you buy it at Kia,
Hyundai or something like that,
they put it on your car and they
don't even really tell you they
did it.

They're just advertising their
dealership.
There's only one frame you can
have, and that's the one that
says you support the Sheriff's
Department.

Yeah, 'cause the the sheriff's
department's issued a statement
with a picture of their plate or
their their frame thing and
because it is cut different and
you can see the word Florida.

A lot going on in the world
today.
Australia becomes the first
country to ban social media for
children under 16.
Wow.
Australia's introduced a
landmark law banning anyone
under 16 from using major social
media platforms including
TikTok, Instagram, Facebook,
YouTube, Snapchat X Threads,
Reddit, Twitch and Kik.
New accounts can't be created
and existing profiles are being
shut down, making this the first
nationwide band of its kind and
one that other countries are
watching closely.
You might not, but when Facebook
started, it was originally a
thing for college students.
So to get into early account,
you just had to lie about your
age.
I mean, I was obviously too old
at the time, so I just backdated
my thing.
Just so you know, everybody was
talking.
About it.
I'm young and spry.
I'm young and spry.

I'm 22 years old or whatever the
age.

What's going to stop them from
doing that for with this?

We have the age restriction
thing on there 'cause it's like
sometimes if I'm not even logged
in I can't watch certain videos
'cause it wants me to log in to
verify my age.
I don't have age restriction on
any of his stuff, you know, but
I have a different philosophy
towards all those things.
I don't, I don't necessarily
believe in sheltering my kid to
that.
I mean, I think that he's of the
age enough.
He doesn't get to go in his room
and sit on social media.
You know what I mean?
Like when he's on social media,
it's in front of us, it's around
us.
So if I hear something that I
think is not OK, I tell him,
hey, that's not OK.
And here's why, you know, so,
but I, I don't think a lot of
people have that same
philosophy.
They just.
Sure, you know some people just
turn them loose.
Yeah, they they'll do that or,
or they'll over restrict, you
know, and is there a right or a
wrong way?
I don't think that there is.
I just think there's just the
way that you want to do it.
And that kind of brings me back
full circle as to why I don't
think the government gets to
say, ha, this is how it should.

The government says the move is
meant to protect young people
from the harmful design features
of social media that push
constant screen time and expose
them to dangerous content.
A government study in 2025 found
that 96% of kids aged 10 to 15
were already on social media and
many were encountering
disturbing material.

The derogative, the women stuff,
all right violence, eating
disorder content and even post
encouraging self harm.
Well, you got to be on top of
this.
Stuff, right?
You got to see what they're.
Doing, you know, like I, my kids
don't get to touch any of any,

I don't care if it's a
television.
I don't care if it's the iPad, I
don't care if it's the iPhone.
It's just video games.
None of that gets to happen
until they read 20 minutes a
day, right, minimum.
So they know that they don't get
to touch any of that, and they
know that we're on, you know,
look, no one's going to be
perfect.
You're never going to, you're
never going to catch everything.
Sure, something's going to slip

through government regulation or
personal regulation, you're
never going to catch everything.
So all we can do is just our
best man.
You do your best and when you do
what you think is right as a
parent and everybody's going to
be different, you know, So I
think that that's the way to
kind of handle things.

revealed one in seven children
experience grooming behavior and
more than half had been cyber
bullied.

behavior where they're talking
them into coming to see them and

it.

Critics say the legislation

that online gaming platforms
such as Roblox and Discord

Netflix announced the deal for

Ellison told CNBC, referencing
the six bids his company made
before Netflix offer was
accepted.

other times.

OK, $10 a 108 billion final
offer.
Making sure his words were as
hostile as the takeover bid
itself, Paramount is relying on
more money for shareholders and
what sees, And what it sees is a
more straightforward path to a
green light from regulators to
bolster its bid.
Paramount's offer is $30 per
share in cash and could
reportedly go higher.
Cash money for the 99 and the
2000.
Netflix made its deal at 2775
per share in cash and stock.
Yeah, we're not even getting
cash.
Yeah, was I want that cold hard
cash.
Well, Netflix only wants Warner
Brothers streaming and studio
businesses.
Paramount wants it all.
The path to Hollywood runs
through Washington.
No matter which bid ultimately
triumphs, a deal can only close
if antitrust regulators sign
off.
The Netflix deal was already
facing scrutiny, with President
Trump saying Sunday that Netflix
large market share could be a
problem.
Paramount is perceived as more
likely to get the nod.
That's partly because it lacks
Netflix's streaming dominance
and partly because of who's
involved.
Some of Paramount's funding
comes from Affinity Partners
investment firm started by
Trump's son-in-law.
Alleged the Trump.
The plot thickens.
Sovereign wealth funds of Saudi
Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Qatar have
also kicked in 24 billion per.
Jeez.
But they and Kushner would forgo
any board voting rights, which
could help push the deal
through.
Oh well, yeah.

expressed frustration in the
notion that the Justice
Department would favor an
Ellison family.

And he started to get kind of
loopy, like he would repeat it
over and over again.
So so I kind of struggled on
that aspect unfortunately.
And at that point I was
exhausted, so.
The 1st 30 minutes they talked
about us and our show.

that should have been on the
list, but we were excluded
because either one, we were not
reviewed by CA or we scored less
than a 91.6.
So there was about, there's two
columns, so maybe 11:50 brands.
So I'd be interesting.
I saw the graphic and then I
went back and then I came back
and then they were talking about
someone else with the graphics
still there.
So yeah, I had to get John to
explain to me what it was.
I thought maybe these were, I
thought this was coops list and
these were the brands he didn't
like so he didn't want to list
them something like that because
Luciano was on the list too.
And I'm like, well, I can't be
right because he loves him.
This is broken.

The show that became a Monday
night handout hangout for the
entire cigar community wrapped
things up with the same
authenticity and heart that made
it a staple in the first place.
In their closing episodes, the
guys didn't chase drama or some
big emotional spectacle.
Instead, they did what they've
always done.
They spoke honestly and shared a
few laughs and thanked the
people who showed up every week
or showed up week after week.
They highlighted the friendships
that form the events that shaped
the industry, and the crazy ride
that turned a simple idea into
one of the most respected cigar
shows out there.
It really was a good show.

I mean, I didn't watch it
religiously, but when I did
watch it, I enjoyed it and I
enjoyed being a guest on it.
That was always fun.
And it sucks to see it come,
man, it really does.

is when when an ongoing problem
occurs and it isn't fixed in

efficiently, you start to look
for a new staff member that can
alleviate some of that pressure,

Like, OK, we have identified
this is an ongoing problem,

And we've tried to fix it.
And the we've come to the
conclusion that the only way we
can fix it is that it becomes
someone else's issue and that
they address it constantly,
right?
So that's how you fix a problem
that continues to go forward.
But you have to consider, you
have to remember, man, there are
podcast problems, there are
wholesale problems, there are
retail online problems, there
are retail in store problems.
All of these things are going on
simultaneously, right?
Like I could, you know, like I
just got bombarded and spammed.
Like there's, I've had server
issues.
I've had all of these other
things in the past 24 hours that
I've dealt with that you don't
even know about, right?
Sure, but by the way, my e-mail
has fixed itself apparently.

and again, like so you know,
you, you just you're constantly
building and putting out fires

giving it the attention that it
deserves?

set things back even further

addressed day of and then we're

well deserved time with his
family, and he's going to take a
look at some offers that he's
been given by other shows.
Oh wow, maybe being a small part
of somebody else's show.
I think that's amazing.
I think that's a great idea for
him.
I mean it, it, it'll be so much
easier from being the guy that
has to do everything every week
'cause I'm, I'm sure he's mostly
show content for that, for that
show to just doing, I only got
to do 5 minutes on, you know?
Well, the pressure's off a
little bit, you know, more fun.
And he's highly intelligent.
He's a great speaker.
He's got a voice that you want
to hear, you know, So, yeah, I
could see that.

working out for him.

Opportunities, he's developed a

presentation on the cigar,
especially with the band design.
The color scheme, most notably
the rich, vibrant red, adds a
premium look that complements
the dark wrapper perfectly.
It gives a cigar a striking,
classy appearance before you
even take it out of the
cellophane, and it sets the
stage for a high smoke or a high
end smoking experience.

The All Saints Saint Francis
Toro shows an impressive balance
right from the start.
The mix of cocoa, barnyard,
hazelnut, praline and a subtle
Praline's a type, and that's
another nut and a subtle
tartness all work together in a
way that feels international and
or intentional and layered, even
as the barnyard note stands out.

early in the sporting flavors,

While the cigar avoids any
catastrophic construction
failures, the issues with the
draw and burn become too
noticeable to ignore as the
smoke progresses.
The draw consistently trends
toward the tight side and by the
midpoint, touch ups are no
longer optional.
They're required.
Combined with slow burn rates
and a less than clean burn line
on multiple samples, the
construction ultimately holds a
cigar back from performing as
well as the flavour profile
suggests it could.

impressed with the debut All
Saints dedication line and was
curious to see what the company
would do with his second line.
Then I started smoking the first
cigar, and then I kept smoking
the first cigar, and then
finally that first cigar ended.
While the three Saint Francis
toros I smoked were far from
bad, they were also noticeably
not in the same league as a
dedication I've smoked to date.
I'm curious to see if the
wrapper change.
The wrapper change helps to
remove some of the massive
barnyard flavors and brings a
bit more balance to a cigar.
Or perhaps it only happens with
lots of time in the humidor.
