ACHP Episode 494 We Got Trials, Porn, Murder and still talking Cigars

Episode Summary
Episode 494 of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast finds Mike Palmer back in the host chair with Greg "3G" Stepankevich filling in as co-host (Filet-O-Phil is missing in action) and Mikey in engineering. The first half is pure off-the-rails ACHP banter: the arrest of a quadruple-amputee cornhole champion on suspicion of murder in Maryland, the latest civil verdict against Bill Cosby in a decades-old 1972 assault case, an ACHP Sports segment on Travis Kelce's three-year Kansas City Chiefs deal, a bonus story on Japan's porn industry struggling to find male actors, and a breakdown of the viral video of Alan Ritchson's confrontation with a neighbor who stepped in front of his motorcycle. The guys also plug CHPod swag on Shopify, the Calendly link for retailers interested in carrying Powstanie, and shout out Jose Blanco's comment that there are seven to eight years' worth of Cameroon tobacco on hand.
The cigar news block is the meat of the episode. First up: Good Times Tobacco — the Tampa-based machine-made giant that moved roughly a billion foil-pack cigars last year under names like Good Times, 4K and Sweet Woods — is launching a premium handmade division, complete with distribution, an e-commerce site at gtcigars.com, a walk-in humidor at headquarters and 10–15 new salespeople. Its first four SKUs fall under a "GT Found" style banner of factory-overrun cigars discovered in an unnamed Nicaraguan factory's aging room, which prompts a skeptical discussion about why cigars actually end up sitting in a factory (unpaid invoices, plugged draws, bad blends) and what a "found" cigar should cost.
Also covered: Aganorsa Leaf is adding an Aniversario Connecticut Toro in a tubo — a 6 x 52 round cigar versus the existing 6 1/4 x 52 box-pressed Toro, same blend, $19.99 in 10-count boxes — which the crew roasts mercilessly as a quarter-inch-shorter "hatchet and stakes" marketing exercise. El Artista is putting a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper on Buffalo Tens with a Habano binder and Nicaraguan/Dominican filler, rolled at the company's Tamboril, Dominican Republic factory, a 6 x 50 box-pressed Toro at $6 in 40-count boxes, five-packs and 20-count refill bundles, debuting around the 2026 PCA trade show. The show closes with a special "loser leaves the industry" edition of What's The Score using Charlie Minato's Halfwheel redux of the Rocky Patel Gold Label Toro (final score 89, original 87), plus upcoming appearances at The Humidor Fine Cigars and Bo Weevil in Dothan, Alabama.

Thanks for joining us, Greg. Pleasure. Thanks for filling in. On today's show, we got no arms, no legs, and carries a gun, allegedly.
Bill Cosby made me rich. ACHP Sports is back, but now with Greg's here, that might not be a good idea. I'm allergic to sports. And then in cigars, we have Agronorsa adds a new cigar.
They add a new cigar. Well, they're adding a cigar. It's not really a new cigar. Okay.
It's a good time to add a new division, and Broadleaf is hard to find, so Artista adds a new Broadleaf cigar. And then, in a once-in-a-lifetime chance, we have a Loser Leaves the Industry Brother edition of What's the Score? Love that game. But first, Mikey, how do we get some of that CHPod swag, and what's the funny comments today?

I didn't even know we even had one on Spotify. Shopify, sorry. The Shopify site. Oh, how do you get that one?
Is that from the YouTube? That's the one that's linked on the YouTube, yes. Oh, so he paid $800 for a hat. He paid $800 for a hat, yes.
Perfect. Yes, yes. So, Christopher, thank you very much for your support. We appreciate that.
Getting into some of the comments today, we had a lot of comments today, but I will tell you some of them right now. There were many this morning. There were very many. So, comments.
Not most relevant. Newest. Responded. Thank you for being prepared.
You're welcome. Fine oiled machine we have running here. I can see that. ACH.
Okay. Episode 493. Palmer is going to be pissed when we all talk sports on Beer Guys 9/11 Herf. Yeah, I saw that this morning.
T-Money also wrote, Filet-O-Phil covering half of his face like he's in witness protection, and he also says, you can thank me for Rick's order. No, I'm not gonna thank you. It was Rick's hard-earned money. You may have pressured him.
You need to pressure more people. And let's see, RealSmokePod, welcome back to the comment section, RealSmokePod, instead of him riding a horse pulling the artillery, have him riding the Warbear for the Ray Palmer. Yeah, they should just be maybe working together. You think they should be working together?
Yeah, they really, they did the same thing. " There you go. Proudly wear Palmer. So there you go, that's the guy.
I appreciate you, brother. Appreciate the support. Thanks, everybody. Make sure you like and subscribe wherever you're watching or viewing this show.
And is that it? Is that all uncovered? Oh, tell us about Calendly. Me?
Yeah. I thought you were. I want you to do it. That's your job.
You do it. You do it. At the bottom of the description of this episode, there will be a link if you are in the retail business where you, too, can possibly carry Powstanie cigars. cigars don't know why you wouldn't for the number two cigar one and three you cannot buy anymore so we are the undisputed number one cigar of 2025 at this point and then if you're a media guy you want to talk to me you want to talk to mikey or even if you'd like to talk to greg and interview him click that link with we're on a separate calendar for you media guys and everyone who shows up for their appointment gets a hat one hat yes don't show up with your 12 buddies and want everybody to get a hat one hat per appointment limited supplies available erica Espinosa has He's now claimed one for himself.
That makes there's one less. Yes. The hat that you're wearing, not the hat that Greg's wearing. Yes, the hat I wear.
No, not my hat. Not Greg's hat. Totally different hat. Or if you want Greg's hat, you got to place a big order.
Yeah. Then you can have that hat, that authentic hat. Then you can have that hat off his head. Yeah.
I'm looking at your mic here and I'm watching how you kind of pinch that in, Greg, and that's very interesting. Well, I didn't do it. I pinched it. Oh, you did that?
I went to pinch it and I thought he had a heart thing or something, but he hides his glasses inside his shirt. This is above my pay grade. I don't place these things. This looks very nice.
He wanted me to put it up to his pants, but I said, no, no, not that kind of show. Not that kind of show. Okay. Not that kind of show.
All right, well, let's get into this, buddy. I'm with the news then. Yes. All right, there's a US quadruple amputee cornhole champion.
Mm-hmm. He's been arrested on suspicion of murder. I heard about this. We had to carry this story.
It has been sent to me by four to five different people. Really? Yes. Four to five?
How does he throw the beanbag? How does he throw the beanbag? Yes. On his arms, we would have got into this, but on his arms it stops right below the elbow.
So he has a little flippy thing. Got it. So he does that. As a child, a small, small child, he had a bacterial infection and the only way to save his life was to cut off his legs and half of his arms.
Yeah. And then he spent six months in the hospital, but he did not die. So what he essentially does is he's kind of sitting on the ground and then he pushes himself forward and then launches the beanbag. I've seen the video.
Full effort. Total send. He does have the leg attachments like you see the runners have in the Paralympics. No, no leg attachments here.
He's just out there crushing these streets of cornhole. All right. Anyway, David Weber, 27, he's accused over the shooting death of Broderick Wells in Maryland. So supposedly him and three other guys were in a car.
Mr. Weber was driving. I have so many questions. Yes, which is a question right there.
Four guys getting in a car, you let the guy with no arms and no legs, you choose him to drive the car. It's the quadriplegic's car. I mean, it's not even him driving. How do you even get in the car?
He can, obviously. Well, he's got the fake legs. Somebody pick him up? No, he crawls in himself.
Climbs in, or whatever. Climbs in. Gets in. But how does he get to be the DD for the evening?
Because that's probably by design. It's probably the car that he can get into and out of the most. Well, but if he's a passenger, You just stick him in the back seat. Was he the designated driver because everybody was drinking?
No, no, I just use that as a term as he's the one, like, "Hey, we're all gonna go out. " Stumpy? Ouch. Okay, David Weber, I'm just...
Matt, if he's at the door. Bob, if he's swimming. Oh my goodness. What kind of show is this?
He got in a fight with the guy sitting in the passenger seat up front with him and shot him. More questions. Allegedly. More questions.
No fingers? Yeah, exactly. How did he use the gun? There was a question in the article, is it a special gun that has been modified for his use and there's been, the police have not received a search warrant to get the gun?
I don't think so on this either. I saw a video of him shooting a gun. How? How did he shoot the gun?
I don't know if he had, he had something where he's pulling the trigger from his arm. I mean, the, so, how does he? Yeah, I don't know. So, okay, so he holds the gun in the nub.
No, no. And then uses an attachment on the other one to... No, in beanbag fashion, like how he throws the beanbags, that's where the gun is. He holds them together, puts both of his nubs...
With the two nubs. Yeah. And then works the trigger. Yeah.
How does the kickback not throw it back in his face? I have no idea. Would you just get 9mm? I don't know.
Duct tape. Lots of duct tape. Well, but he's driving already. Yeah.
So when he stop and go, excuse me, I'm very upset with you, can you hook this gun on my arm? I mean, more importantly, like, yeah, you know, it's not like he could have done it fast. You know what I mean? Right, yeah, there's gotta be some, you know, set up.
There had to be some delay. There's prep work involved. There's gonna be prep work involved, I'm gonna shoot you, don't get out of the car. His boy thought, there's no way he's gonna shoot me.
And he shot him, I think, allegedly, right in the face. Yeah, right. " Yeah. " And then when he stops, they get out and run off.
Those aren't real friends. You know what I mean? And they call the police. They're not real friends.
And then 60 miles away from where they got out, they find the guy's body in somebody's front yard. Wow. How do you get it out of the car? Exactly, how does he get this guy out of the car?
So many questions. So many questions of this thing. That's so impressive. So then they identify the guy as the fourth guy in the car, and they have the body, but they can't prove who shot him.
Of course not, there's no fingerprints. Yeah. Oh, good point. Other than the eyewitness testimony of the two guys in the backseat of the car.
It's all hearsay. We don't know what happened. The bullet attacked him. Yeah, I hit a bump.
I was trying to show him how my gun works and I shot him in the face. Yeah, you know, so this brings me to a question. Just one? Just one?
Just one, yeah. Like, none of the stuff that he has done is, you know, it all sounds phenomenal and miraculous at the very least. But my question to you guys is, Palmer's driving, Phil's in the front seat, and he says, Something To Palmer And it's bad Whatever it is It's very bad I just want you to know I've been having sexual relations with your wife Something Palmer takes the gun And shoots him in the face What do you do Greg Do you leave him there Are you in the backseat with me Which is the only way I'm shooting anybody by the way We're going to do two scenarios One is I'm not in the backseat It's just you. Okay.
Yeah. So at this point, Phil's dead. Yes. No reason for Palmer to go to jail.
Correct. Correct. Okay. Okay.
And now, if I'm in the backseat? No reason for Palmer to go to jail. Same scenario. Jess, it's a lot lighter at this point because you're doing all the lifting.
It's easier for you to carry. Yes. It's an easier situation for everybody. And for me to curse about you both moving forward.
I always have to carry the body. You know, I always get the standard comment too. Whenever I get to lift something heavy, it's like, oh, you're getting your workout in today. I'm not getting my work out today.
Every time. It doesn't matter. Somebody always says it. I just tell you it's heavy.
You get it. Yeah. I'm not getting my work out. This is stupid.
You're just better suited for the job of lifting things, though. Oh, great. Right. I'm an old man.
I'm so happy to hear that. Thank you. Okay. I'm old.
He's feeble. You're just the obvious choice. I get sick when I do physical activity. I know.
You built a wheelchair ramp. I did. I was sick for like two weeks afterwards. Yeah, and you almost died.
" I was close. Yeah, this is it. Both. Okay.
So, obviously, the guys in the backseat were not real friends. That's what I'm saying. They were just along for the ride because they got to hang out with Cornhole Champion. Right.
And watch him drive his car. They did the one thing their friend couldn't do. They ran. Ouch.
Oh, my God. I thought that we got in enough trouble without you. And here you are. I thought we'd miss Phil today, obviously.
Look at you. By the way, Jose Blanco commented on our short about... Jose Blanco? Yeah.
He's a big deal. Yeah, but you know how you made a joke about Cameroon and stuff? Oh, yeah. Yesterday, Joe?
Oh, yeah, buddy. Yesterday, the one Sweeney was on? No, no, it was the one that Oliver was on. Oh.
Yeah. What'd he say? " So, there goes our Opus account. That was a good run.
Thanks, Palmer. Ah, not a problem. Greg's gonna have to defend that later. We can readdress it in seven, eight years.
This is going better than expected Phil might be gone completely though. He's obviously watched the videos like, Oh, I get this. This is perfect. Right.
So he had to watch it. Yeah. No, I'm saying that Greg's obviously a fan of the show. Yes.
He knows how it's done. Right. Okay. All right.
Next show. Next episode. All right. A woman sued Bill Cosby because he drugged her and raped her in 1972.
Is this still going on? 3 million from a jury. You're popping. Me?
Yep. It'll go, wait a second. Hold on, I'm gonna... Is it because it's up against the zipper?
No, it's because I spoke loud, I think is what it was, Michael. I got elevated. I'm lowering your sparkle? 25 million award on Monday, decades after stepping forward as Jane Doe #8 in 2005 lawsuit.
Temple University Athletics Director Andrea Constand against the Disgraced Comedian Jurors found Bill Cosby liable for the sexual assault on an intoxicated woman. Ooh, does he have any money left to give her though? Well, he's got it. He's Bill Cosby, bro.
He's got, he definitely has money. She's already been awarded. 5 million. She's down like 70 men right now.
75 million for future suffering. She's suffering. 72, rough. The same lady.
Right. Late in the day, they added another 40 million in punitive damages after finding that Cosby acted with malice, oppression, or fraud. 110M. I mean, he's gonna run out.
He's got all that jello pudding. Yeah, I mean, he's Bill Cosby, bro. He's good. So, in her testimony, he befriended her while she was working as a waitress at a popular restaurant In Sausalito, California, called the Trident.
I don't know why that's important. Okay. Gentlemen's Club. Cosby later invited her to a recording of his stand-up act inside the mind of Bill Cosby.
While there, he gave her a glass of wine. She felt woozy, so he gave her two pills, said they were aspirin. And next thing you know, she woke up just in her underwear the next morning. Oh, so she had clothes on still.
Okay, barely. So, yeah, I guess he was nice enough to put the underwear on? Yeah, this is not funny. Or that was not where he went, one or the other.
There are other options. Maybe he just worked around the underwear. How do you, what do you mean there are other options when she's unconscious? It doesn't even make any sense.
Oh, no, no, still. Yeah. No, still? I mean, there's other options.
It's not just things covered by underwear. He could have put it somewhere else. Yeah, but I'm saying... While she's unconscious?
Yeah, it doesn't make any sense. Well, he still could have. Maybe he likes dead people. I don't know.
Maybe he likes the necromonger way. I think necrophilia isn't it. Right, maybe that's what it is. I think I read that's why he liked them drugged.
I see. Oh, wow. Okay. The last thing Mrs.
Munsinger recalls was flashes of light. She woke up in her house with all her clothes off except her underwear on no top, no bra, and no pants. Okay. She knew she had been drugged and raped by Bill Cosby.
She knew. Well, that was the last thing she knew. How did he get... Okay, more questions.
How does he get her out of the recording studio? Well, he calls Mikey. He moves everything. Wow.
Wow. Or maybe called, you know, the quadriplegic cornhole champion. Yeah. He can do things with magic.
Right, I hear you got away, buddy. I need a little help moving a lady. Wow, he's very capable. Not a problem.
Let me get my special card. Let me get my special card. He's got a ramp. Oh, boy.
Okay, so this is recent? This happened again? She just got awarded it on Monday. Oh, okay.
So this has been dragging out. They keep giving her more and more money. - Wow, so she's just crushing. - She's just crushing.
- So you got that Jell-O money. - Rape, the gift that keeps on giving. - For 20 years, she's been going back and forth to court getting more money from this man. - Yikes.
" - Yeah, you know what, I'm still not, I'm not happy about this. - I don't feel whole yet, I still have nightmares. - Yeah, I'm still affected. - I still need more money.
I mean, it's a terrible thing, I hope she gets everything she can get. - Obviously. It's no laughing matter. - No, no.
- And, you know, Bill deserves to be put under the jail, as far as I'm concerned. - Isn't he in jail still? Is he in jail still? Yeah.
Right? Is he? I know he went to jail for, I mean, this lady's Jane Dune number eight, so there's gotta be a one through seven. I'll check.
Is Bill Cosby in jail? Oh, yeah. Ask. Okay.
Text Skip and have him ask his friend. Bill Cosby. No, Bill Cosby is not currently in jail. Yeah, he's out.
He's been out since 2021. Wow. He got out in 2021? Yep.
So he's been out for four years. Yeah. She thought she'd go back to the well. Yeah.
Well, apparently she could. Yeah, another $59,000. So this was just a civil trial, so it's only about the check. Only about the money at this point.
Yowza. How do you let him walk around? I think once they're found guilty and they go to jail that you can't now sue them for money. Damages are damages.
Different case. Yeah. I guess. Yeah, I mean, you know, to be honest, the story that you're kind of saying, it seems like it's lacking information.
I don't understand the extent of that, how she can continue to sue. There's got to be different multiple lawsuits there. It's not just one reoccurring over. Like there's obviously several situations that occurred or something like that.
I would assume that's why she continues to sue. Pain and suffering, punitive damages. Maybe she's doing everything separately. Yeah, I hope he winds up broke.
Yeah. Yeah. Sounds like he might be. Ask your AI friend where he lives now.
No. Why? I don't want to. So mean.
Where does he live now? He lives in a shack. Does he have a big house? He lives in a van by the river.
Is he in Hollywood still? No, he's on an island. Is he over at OJ's house living in, what's his name's guest house outside? Kato.
Kato. I was going to say Casey Kaysen, but that was not right. Way off with that one. Way off.
Way off. Yeah. The K part was correct. OJ's dead, buddy.
All right, now on to sports. Yes. All right, Michael, go ahead. Take it.
Just shut my camera off. No, not shutting it off. Just shut it off. Travis Kelce signs a three-year contract with the greatest team ever, Michael, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Oh. It's my wife's favorite team. They hate talking about Kansas City. Ah.
Now that Travis Kelsey has announced his return to football, the Kansas City Chiefs are locking him down. We're so relieved. He's confirmed he'll be back March 10th after months of speculation about his possible retirement. He wanted only to come back for one year, but they got him for three years for $54,735 million deal.
What a waste of money. Unbelievable. That would almost be enough to pay the lady. Close.
Oh, she's got more, she made more. Yeah, 59. Oh, she made 59. Yeah.
You know, that sounds like cheap money for him, I guess, because he's getting older, but he didn't really do anything productive last year, now that I think of it, so. I was just thinking that. Yeah. I know that you're a big, big football guy.
So, yeah, I'm not, I mean, I saw the picture, but there was pictures of both of them. So, is this the brother dating the, what's her name, or is this the- He's the one. That's the one they're talking about here, it's Kelsey. Travis is the one that's with- With Taylor.
Right. So this guy is the big center or whatever he was. No, he's the tight end. Jason is the center.
Ah. I like that you have no idea, but you wanted to cover this because it's the Kansas City Chiefs. Yeah. And I knew it would bother you.
Nothing bothers you. And of all the sports stories I had to pick from, this was the one that I, you know, at least was familiar with. You're adamant about covering this. Familiar with something, right.
Yeah. Exactly. How many receptions did he have last year? How many receptions?
Yeah. Seven. Seven? How many touchdowns?
Seven receptions and nine touchdowns. Yes. Wow, that makes a lot of sense. And his position is infield or outfield?
Uh, I have no idea. I don't know. I think he's the goalie. He's not sure.
The goalie. Yeah, he's a third baseman. Yeah, right. No, no, shortstop.
Mm, okay. So there's no, see, I expected you and Boots to make comments back and forth there for a good five, ten minutes. This was gonna take up like 15 minutes, we're done already. There's nothing, there's really nothing there to cover.
I mean, congratulations on the Kansas City Chiefs. He belongs there, that's where he should go and, you know, That's a three-year deal. I think that he still walks away after one. Oh, you think so?
Yeah. So, do they divide this up into threes, or is it one of those deals where he gets it where he plays or not? Like, I have no idea what the contract entails, but I'm sure that there was some guarantee signing bonus, and then there's X amount per year, and there's probably bonuses along the lines for playing things, playing time, receptions, touchdowns, yada, yada. Oh, they get paid for all that extra stuff?
Yeah. Yeah. Sometimes that's worked into the contract as well. So let's say you're him.
You live a moderate to excessive lifestyle. Does this give you enough money for the rest of your life? No, I'm done. No, no.
I'm saying you play and you get this $54 million. Is this like his nest egg now for his retirement? No, he's made more money in the past. But I got news for you.
If I'm him, I get an apron, I wash the dishes. Like I'm not the biggest earner in that household. Not even close. Taylor Swift is.
Oh, that's right, he doesn't need money, he's got, I'm thinking he's the other guy. Yeah, he's got Taylor Swift money. Yeah, so 54 million, she's like, pfft, awesome, bro. Maybe that's just his allowance.
She's like, sick, good job with that. This is the money he gets to spend without asking permission. Right, yeah, no, so, no. If I'm him, I'm floating in the pool, you know?
Eating pie. Eating pie, lots of pie, you know, being a cat man. I mean, since we have extra time, we have a short bonus story that was more suited for Phil, but Greg might be able to participate. Oh, okay.
The Chinese, or the Japanese porn industry is in desperate need of male actors. Oh. There is, it's a seven to one ratio, women to men. Mm-hmm.
So they are desperately seeking, uh, Phil has a small porn career where he makes movies, so. Yeah. I was going to let him know, but. I watch porn, I mean, does that count?
Exactly, that's what I meant. Are you a fan of the Japanese porn? There has to be a lot of girl on girl because of the lack of men. Is that due to like population?
Is that why? I think so. Well, it's said because it's a lack of stamina and a working environment. The men in Japan don't like to be in the mobis.
Ah. So they must be, you know. So when do you think you're gonna get into Japanese porn? I haven't in 44 years.
No? So. But apparently there's a window of opportunity for you here. Oh, like for me to actually be part of the production.
Oh, be part of? Oh, you'd be great with all the jewelry and the hat and everything. No, I'm married to a Latina. That's not going to work.
My name is Greg. Greg could be very bad. Greg, and I come in to give you a American penis. A big wang.
How is it that the female actress became a sumo wrestler? I don't understand. The male actress. It's Japanese.
Oh, I see. Male actor. Oh, actor. I thought he was speaking in perspective of the woman.
No, I'm talking in perspective of you. My name is Greg. Do you identify as a woman? I don't, but apparently I identify as a sumo wrestler now.
Yeah, if you're Japanese. Yeah. Well, it's the third G. Yeah, it's the third G.
It's really what it does. It's like a third chromosome. It's a third G. You know what I just found out the other day?
You self-imposed that third G on your name? So that's my brother's story. I don't believe that that's true. Well, Gregory does not have three Gs.
Gregory does not. But every time that my mother spelled the name, that's how she spelled it when she spelled it short, Greg. She wanted him to have extra letters like him. Yeah.
She loves him so much, she wanted him to have an additional. I love him so much, I give him extra letter. Extra. Yeah.
Oh, extra. She's Japanese too, apparently. Hello, extra G. Can we do the remainder of this podcast in a Japanese voice?
In a Japanese accent? That'd be great. We'll get in trouble. It'll probably morph into German at some point.
Oh, and German, and Chinese. He does a good Chinese. A little bit of Irish. Slight Irish.
A little bit of Irish. Okay. All right, Michael, you got a video for us today, I understand. I sure do.
Oh, goody, goody. I sure do. I love editing in the videos. How do we see a video?
He's going to send it to your phone. I'm going to send it to your phone. Really? Really?
Yeah. We're high techie techie here. High techie techie. See, there it is.
Right. I just sent it to Greg. Cigar Hustler has a text message. And I just sent it in the M&M so that Phil can see that he's not partaking.
Okay. Now, this is my boy, Alan Richardson, teeing off on his neighbor. Oh, this is from somebody's window. Yes.
Yes. and Alan Richardson is Jack Reacher. Yeah, big dude. Yeah, big guy.
Yeah. He was on his motorcycle. With his children. Yeah.
And what this video doesn't show you is that the guy goes into the middle of the street and blocks him when he's riding and knocks him down. Yeah. Oh, and now he just threw his motorcycle. Yeah, so he has video footage of him recording.
He released it. And, you know, this guy was totally out of line, in my opinion, as far as getting in front of him. The neighbor was? Yeah.
Did you see the testimony of the neighbor? No. Because he goes on to say that this has been going on for some time, him and the children going up and down the road in a dangerous fashion, he's yelled at him many times, then eventually stopped him. The conclusion of the interview, he states that he basically got the crap beat out of him, which is apparent from the video.
Yes, so if the kids are driving like maniacs, let's say that he's right, let's say that that's going on in the street, why not call the police? Okay, there's something to be said for that, but if the father was present, wouldn't you have a conversation with the head of the household first, that's out of respect? Would I have, so here's, okay, so I guess if you're, what you're trying to ask me is, how would I handle the situation? Yes.
Sure. OK, if I know the person and the kids that he did not, by the way, he had no idea who the person was that he was walking up on. OK, but he knows that he's his neighbor. Yeah, that's I mean, listen, there's there's Facebook group me group chats like it's easy to distinguish who this guy is.
Right. Regardless of if he's an actor or whatever. Right. So all I have to do is follow this guy to his house.
Right. Wait till he gets off his motorcycle and have a conversation. Hey, dude, like, listen, I think that, you know, it's kind of out of hand in the neighborhood. Do you think maybe you could taper off here and not do what you guys are doing in this area?
Maybe we can find a better spot for it? Because, you know, you're making a lot of the neighbors uncomfortable, you know, uncomfortable. Sure. The police could have already spoke to him and he celebrated his way out of it, too.
But there'd be a report. If you see the interview of the neighbor, the victim, you can actually tell he's a bit of an asshat. Oh, yeah. He doesn't strike me as a victim.
I mean, he went into the middle of the street when a guy's riding a motorcycle and made a I've made him jam on his brakes and fall to the ground. Okay. That is not how you handle the situation. The police report is going to say victim.
And I got news for you. If that were to happen to me in front of my kids and you berate me, I got a feeling that the reaction is going to be very similar for me too. Like, dude, you're out of your mind. I could have died.
You could have killed me because you're trying to prove a point and what's wrong in the neighborhood. Like that is not how you address something that's going on in the neighborhood. I don't disagree with his actions. I just know there's going to be charges.
It doesn't sound like there's going to be charges. Really? Yeah. Because, I mean, the other guy openly admitted the fact that he had gotten in the way, that he had done specific things in order for there to be a counter.
I mean, I don't know. You'd have to prove self-defense. I think that you can, just showing by the video footage that's on Alan Richardson's chest. He's got a GoPro attached to it, and he released that footage.
I wanted to play that, however, all the video that I found, it has music in the background, and we can't do that on YouTube. So we could have played it without the audio, but then I would have had to edit it. And oh, yeah, I could have just lowered the video, I guess. But then you don't get to mute button, but you don't get to hear them talking at that point.
He says, what the hell's wrong with you? Or, you know, what the F is wrong with you from her window? Get the audio of them talking. It was there audio there?
No, I thought you made there was audio on this one. You just did. No, no. Oh, no audio on this one.
There's audio on the body cam from. Oh, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. It's like, dude, you could have killed me. You know, like what?
You're out of your mind. Like that's the that's not how you address it but address the situation dude you cannot just run in front of a motorcycle you know and look you could have easily just gone to the guy's house right and said hey man my name is bob i'm so-and-so up the street how you doing dude listen we see you guys up and down the street all the time you and your boys like you know if you're around here do you mind slowing down a little bit i like i don't think that this is the best approach right if that were true but we don't know if that was true it could just be three guys on a bike You know, Alan and his kids on a motorcycle and just because they're on motorcycles, ooh, they're a problem, right? The victim is a motorcycle advocate as well. And he thought it was in his best interest.
He did, like I said, asshat. To get in front of a motorcycle. Like I said, asshat. So he's not really an advocate, he's an asshat.
Maybe he wanted an autograph. Yeah. Well, he's got tattooed across his face now. Right.
He only hit him three times. That was what we can see on the TMZ video. But, you know, I have to watch the whole video, the whole TikTok video to see otherwise. He's got bruising and cuts all over his face.
Yeah, and he deserved it. He caught a couple good ones. Well, I mean, the guy's the size of a bear. Yeah, yeah, he's a big dude.
I don't want to get hit by him. No, I don't either. Yeah, do not approach bear. Yeah, don't feed the bear.
And he does movies where he knows how to hit stuff and things. Don't attack the cubs. You know what I mean? That's even worse.
Yeah. Right. Oh, right, the cubs. Sure.
Yeah. Big mistake, buddy. Yeah, they're big pants. So, yeah.
All right, cigar news. Goodtimes Tobacco is launching a Premium Cigar Division. Ooh. You guys familiar with Goodtimes?
What were they selling before? Machine-made cigars. Badtimes. They're selling Badtimes.
One of the largest sellers of cigars in America has launched a new Premium Cigar Division. Greg Dana, co-founder-- How does he spell Greg? Well, just two Gs. G-R-E-G.
The standard way, the appropriate way to spell Greg. The appropriate way, the appropriate number of Gs. So foolish. His mother disliked him, did not love him.
Mom didn't like him enough. Did not love him tremendously. Did not consider him favorite. I do not consider him favorite.
Co-father of the Tampa-based company told Half Wheel that Good Times sold roughly a billion cigars last year. Holy moly. That's a real number? That's a real number.
That's a lot of bones, man. Those cigars, machine-made cigars, sold under brand names like Good Times, 4K, and Sweetwoods. Foil-packed cigars, a billion foil-packed cigars. Wow.
This is for like gas stations, right? It's got to be convenient to store-stop. In 2026, Good Times is making a new effort to the premium handmade cigar space It's a space that will include its own cigar brand, cigar distribution to the retail outlet, and already serves an e-commerce platform for both consumers and retailers, and even a walk-in humidor in its Tampa-based headquarters. Ooh, we're going premium.
We're moving on up. com is already live. There are two portals, one for consumers and one for retailers. Smart.
Listed on the website alongside cigars for many familiar names are the first four new handmade skews for good times, Branded under the GT1 and Dunn name, these are described as factory overrun cigars that companies found sitting in an unnamed Nicaraguan factory's aging room, so it's just leftover. Oh, I've seen this business model before. Yes, yes. Lost and found.
Yes. Yes. The company is not disclosing any additional info about the cigars because they don't know what they are. Right.
No one knows. GT1 and Dunn is the first part of the company's cigar portfolio. It plans on offering its own line, some of which will be sold in boxes, others in bundles, some in foil packs. Okay, so here's the thing.
If a cigar, if a set of cigars were found somewhere in a factory, is it safe to assume that maybe they were tucked away for a legitimate reason? Like, hey, these are something that a pair has just started, like a new pair has worked on, there's a tremendous plug problem, or something of that fashion, or they just tasted terrible, you know, something like that? I think that it happens more often because they paid a little bit on the front end and didn't complete the payment. Therefore, they just kept the money and the cigars.
That's what I was gonna say. So why not just flip them to somebody else? Why hold them for hundreds of years or whatever, however long it is? I gotta find somebody who wants to buy them.
That doesn't, I mean, that should be easy. Yeah, no, we got a cigar for you right here. But bandit, like that's what they do in this industry all the time, you know, like, oh, yeah, I got a cigar. Oh, you need this cigar?
Yeah. I got one of those. Oh, you want your own cigar? Yeah.
Oh, yeah. Check this out. Here it is. Yeah.
Look, I made it for you. Right? Isn't it the best cigar ever? That fan has a big L on it.
Don't worry, we can take that off. Right? Wow. Could be Leroy Cigars.
What are you talking about over there, Mike? That was awesome. I don't know why you guys jumped to conclusions. All right, how much is this cigar going to be, gentlemen?
I don't know. Jose Blanco just had a cease and desist, though. We're just not allowed to mention the C word anymore. How much is it?
How much is this cigar? It's sold in 20 count boxes. They have this lovely found cigar. Great.
Wait, wait, wait. This means that they can never duplicate, so... How many of them are there in their possession? They're not saying.
Are they saying anything else other than we found this cigar? It's in a 20 count box. That's what we got. That's what we got.
That's what we got. Fuck, okay. $16. What's the wrapper?
No, no, it's... They're not saying. It's gonna be... This is gonna be less.
This is a bundle cigar company that's about to dip into premium. They're gonna look to come in... They're putting them in boxes. Are they putting them in boxes?
Yeah, I'm going to call it $6. $15, Michael. You went the wrong way. Wow.
Like Greg knows what he's doing. Is it Price is Right rules? Do I still lose? No, you won't.
Yes, you overbid. Oh, that's fantastic. Loser. It's the closest and you can go over.
Oh, I love it. However, there are plans for products of all different price points. They're going to put them everywhere. I have an announcement to make.
This is my retirement podcast. Greg is now going to be in charge. He's going to be sitting in that chair moving forward. I don't want to do this.
Mike, I'm going to do this. So congratulations, Greg. I have other things to do. I wish you the best.
Than this. No, this is good for you. I need to go do other things. No, you need this.
Good times has roughly 40 salespeople out in the wild, but the company is exploring separate handmade cigar division. Dana said depending on the need, they may be hiring 10 to 15 more people. Sounds like a good time. Just for this division.
They also said they're going to be putting a premium cigar in foil, too. Four packs. Right. Yeah.
Boxes, bundles, four packs. Super interesting. Well, the five-pack things are very big right now with the Ziploc packs. Yeah, but that's kind of different than like a foil pack.
Foil pack is usually like a single or a double cigar. Well, they already have the foil packs for the other things, so, you know, why not use the extra ones that were misspelled cigar on it with a Z or something? The term vertically integrated is something that we like to use in this industry all the time. Right.
Yes. All right, Aganorsa Leaf Anniversario, Connecticut. They're making a new cigar. Hatchet series?
No hatchet, but it is in a tubo. - Hmm. - It's the new Toro. - Okay.
- But, there's already an Aganor's Elite Anniversary Connecticut Toro. It measures six and a quarter by 52. - Okay. - But in just 30 days, they're gonna make another Toro that's a six by 52.
- Oh. - They took a quarter inch off. - Same blend? - Same blend.
- Less cigar. - Less cigar. - More money because of the tube. - And a tube, right, exactly.
- Love the model. " - Oh God, what are we gonna do? What are we going to do with these six by 52? It's supposed to be six and a quarter by 52.
Let's put them in a tube and we're going to sharpen the end of the tube. We're going to call them steaks. Steaks. Hatchets and steaks.
It's not simply a quarter inch difference in the length. Well, technically it is. The new tube, oh, it's a round, oh, it's a round cigar. The other one's box pressed.
There you go. Hey, don't go to the trouble to press the short ones. It's different Patola. What do you mean?
Completely different. What do you mean these were round? They're supposed to be box pressed. Oh, I got bad news for you, boss.
They're also a quarter inch short. You're not going to believe this. - Buy the tubes. - Buy the tubes.
- We have these tubes that are quarter inch short too that we bought for the other ones, they don't fit. - Yeah. - Perfect! - And you can put them in on set with the hatchet.
- Blend wise, the two cigars are exactly the same. - Wow. But they're gonna taste differently. - They're gonna taste different, that quarter inch adds a lot of different forms.
- Well, round versus box press means more tobacco. - Mm-hmm. Easier draw? - Well, the round, but these are round now.
- No, they're box, oh, they're round now. - They're round now. - The other one was box press. Keep up, got it, got it.
- Sorry. - Sorry. - Yeah, yeah, Triple G. - Triple G.
- Yeah, let's go Triple G. - The line is made at the company's factory in Nicaragua, the Agronorsa Leaf Anniversary of Connecticut. Tubo has an MSRP of what, gentlemen? It comes in with a box of 10 cigars.
- You want me to go first this time? - You can go first, that's fine. - Okay, $13. - That's good, I'm gonna go $14.
99. - Oh! - That's two for two. - I told you, I'm done, I'm done.
- Oh, you're very careful, Michael, on that loser leaves industry thing. Listen, look man, you have two choices at this point, you either run this podcast with Palmer and I step out of here or you become a Japanese porn star, you decide, it is what it is. Those are your options. All right, Artista Buffalo 10s getting that broadleaf that nobody else can find.
They're doing a broadleaf version in May, the new cigar uses a broadleaf wrapper and a Habano binder. Is this Dominican? Sorry. I don't know, let's find out in a minute.
Nope, Nicaraguan. And the, oh and Dominican Republic, it's both. Okay, but where is it being, any idea where it's being rolled? Um, Artista's Factory in Tamborale, Dominican Republic.
There you go, so it's very odd, right, that broadleaf is readily available in the Dominican Republic. That's where they have it all. Right, because maybe they're growing something like it, or they're saying that it's something that's the broadleaf? Maybe it's the C word that didn't work out.
We're not talking about that anymore. I'm not talking about that anymore. I said the C word. Listen, you're going to get me in big trouble, alright?
Been a while since I've been in big trouble. Oh my god. Alright, it's a 6x50 box press Toro Vitola priced at? El Artista, Artista?
Yes. Broadleaf? It's offered in three packaging options. Do you want to know all three?
It's the same price no matter what the package. Yes. Yeah, you get those. It's a 40 count box, packs of five, and a 20 count refill bundle.
Okay. You first. Again? Me?
Yeah. Also a Toro. Anything's a Toro anymore. $10.
50. 00 per cigar. You went the wrong way. Yes.
Japanese porn for you. There you go. You get to keep the podcast. Oh, hello.
Oh. My name is Greg. I give you big American peanuts. Do you want big pipi?
Retailers will see the new line in person at the 2026 PCA Convention at the Trade Show. We should go over and ask Terrence. We would like to see the one that's a quarter inch smaller. Yes.
Yes, do you have any samples? I need to smoke it first. That's the only one for the show. Can you show us the two of them together?
We want to make sure it is a true quarter-inch. You know, I got to give it to Terrence, dude, because listen, the amount of abuse that I give to that man is tremendous. And he takes it very well. He takes it in stride.
So, you know, yes, we will be asking him about the quarter-inch difference when we see the PCA. And for a hatchet. Yeah. And did the quarter-inch come off with the hatchet?
Was it cut with the axe? Cut with the axe. - The Aganorza Axe. - Aganorza Axe, because that sounds better marketing-wise than Axe.
- Yeah, I love that he said that in the real. - Yes, in the video. - Because that makes more sense, so. - Alright, gentlemen, it's time for the industry's favorite game.
- What's the score? - I was supposed to say it with the score. - Yeah, you're supposed to say it. We'll try, we'll do it again.
Just back up a little bit later. - Okay, I was supposed to say it. - Okay, it's time for the industry's favorite game. - What's the score?
- An unprecedented brother leaves the industry game. Here is the cigar, March 23rd, 2026, Charlie Minato. Oh, tough one. This is a Redux, the Rocky Patel, Rocky Patel Gold Labeled Toro.
Rocky. Now, we have both scores, after you do the one for this information, you have the ability to win by guessing the original score. Oh, okay. Greg?
No, you go first. Okay, I go 88. I'll go 89. 5x54, pressed, $12, they smoked one cigar for the Redux.
Hmm. Okay. I'm going to go 87. I'm going to stick with 89.
Clue number one. You want to know something that's really funny, Palmer? What? Greg thinks, Greg thinks that he can use his poker skills and he's reading your face after I give a number to see.
Oh, really? Oh yeah, that's exactly what he's doing. Man, he has spent way too much time with me. Yeah.
But the problem is I don't remember what the score was. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Oh, so it's totally ignorant?
It's not effective, it's not effective at all, but I know him that I know that that's what he's doing. All right, I'll have to apply a different tactic. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, totally different tactic.
All right. You're gonna have to revisit that. All right, clear number one. Excellent construction and draw right out of the gate.
Smooth wrapper, feel, balanced resistance, and a rich, detailed flavor profile with notes like honey, graham cracker, and a subtle spice makes for a very enjoyable first half. 89. Oh, you're now at my number. - Is that where you were?
- Yeah, I was at 89. - Oh, you can stay there, you can move. - It's okay, you can stay there, you can move. - It's super interesting, like, because there's so many positive things that are said throughout the beginning of this, then all of a sudden, like, the carpet just gets ripped right out from underneath you for, like, the last line.
- Yes, yes. - Well, see, by design, I do two positives and a negative. - Yeah. - Ah, I see.
- It's the same every week. - Same every week, okay. - It's not a coincidence that there's just a bad thing at the end. - Okay, I'm gonna go 91.
- Okay. Oh, sorry. It's back to me. Welcome back.
The cigar delivers impressive complexity and transitions with evolving flavors like creaminess, bread, leather, and nuanced sweetness, all while maintaining a refined smoothness and medium-full flavor without overwhelming strength. I didn't listen to anything that you just said there. Want me to read it again? No, no.
There's a lot of bread. There's some leather. There's a lot of bread. I'm going to stay 89.
I'm going to say with 91. Alright, the second half loses some of its earlier balance and smoothness with burn issues requiring touch-ups and a shift towards drier, more mineral, and slightly burnt flavors that dull the overall experience. Oh, they don't like the mineral. No minerality.
Minerality. They don't like the minerality. We would make a comment, but he's 60 episodes behind. Oh, no.
I'm going to go 87. 89. Final thought. In my original review of the Rocky Patel Gold Label Toro, my main criticism was that it was a session cigar.
Something that was going to be consistent, but rarely ever changing. I think that there are enough differences now that the aged version of the cigar no longer fits that description, though it is still not one that provides dynamic changes. If Rocky Patel could figure out how to deliver the aged flavor profile, I got a fresh one. I suspected the gold label would have a lot more fans.
It's a pretty full-flavored and versatile profile. Most importantly, one that never stepped out of bounds. - Hmm. - Tight.
- 86. - Read the face. What does it tell you? - 87.
- Oh, he went the right way. - 89. - Oh, what was it? - 89.
Son of a bitch, that's where I started. Yeah, that's where you started. Alright, but now, we have a chance to keep your industry status, Michael. Okay.
What was the original score for the cigar the first time it was reviewed? You got a little bit of a clue from the final thought. 87. Yeah, that's what I was gonna go, so I'm gonna have to go 86.
86. That son of a bitch! I'm out of here. That's it.
You have to do the Japanese porn, Michael. No, it's not going to work for me. Oh, he big a boy. Look at that one.
No, his eyes are like a little, look, he looks more Japanese than me. Nope. Even with that. He does look more Japanese.
Yeah, you do. Even with the beard, like the beard. With Comrade Rosales. Yeah.
Look. Yeah. That beard looks more Japanese. You know what I mean?
Japanese beard. Yeah. What do you think, Palmer? You know, and he's been to Japan.
And he's been there. I have been to Japan. Yeah. Was that to do your auditions?
Thank you. Your audition tape? No. Eat Sushi, Drink Sake.
That would be a great new movie for you. Eat Sushi, Drink Sake. Eat Sushi, Drink Sake. Title of the first film.
" There you go. The movie writes itself after that. Time to eat and drink. There it is.
There it is. Okay, well, congratulations. James, you are the current champion of the Half Wheel Cigar Reviewing. Guess what's the score?
Congratulations. We have a parting gift for you at the end. Yep. Great.
Is it a hat? You get to break all this down and put it away. Yeah, break all this down and put it away. There's actually a body in the car.
You gotta move the body. We couldn't lift it. Yeah, it's not happening. All right, this Friday night, Michael, where are we gonna be?
We are going to be in Dothan, Alabama. The Humidor Fine Cigars on Friday night and Bo Weevil Saturday afternoon before we have to get out of town. Yes. Then on April 1st, I'm doing the Beer Guys 911 Video Herf, where apparently I'm not allowed to drink Ultra and they're going to only talk about sports.
Yay. Not looking forward to the sport part. I wonder if I have a football game this Saturday. That could be a problem.
Well, uh, we get out of there at five. We're back by 10. You can make the end of it. No, it's not, it's usually Saturday mornings.
Oh, that could be a problem, it's because we don't start till 1:00. I have to figure that out. All right, guys, thank you very much, Greg, thanks for sitting in. Phil, we don't know where you're at still.
Greg, thank you so much. You did a great job. Even in the chair. You have a beautiful face for radio.
And thank you so much for attending this edition of Cigar Houses Podcast. We're just doing all guests now, it's like our thing. Well, right now we're kind of just on a little bit of a tear. Right.
Please like, and you know what's happening? And if you look at the DAs around the corner, people are like, "Oh, I gotta, you know, I gotta get on the number one podcast. Alright, I gotta get on there and promote myself. Yeah.
Please like and subscribe wherever you're viewing or listening. Jose Blanco, if you want to come on the show, just give us a thumbs up. We would love to have you on. We'd love to have you on the show.
We can talk about the Cameroon Tobacco. No, we don't get to talk at that point. If you have, if you have Jose Blanco on, you just sit. Yeah, that's how that works.
Alright, guys. Thanks. Gotta go. Bye.
