ACHP Episode 506 Fox, Steak and Potatoes and Military Secrets

Transcript
Welcome to A Cigar Hustler's Podcast Episode 506. I'm Mike Palmer, your host, and on today's show, we have Phil, I need to get out of here early, I have a snack scheduled. McGuffey. Hello.
Apparently, he pre-snacked. And my co-host, Mikey, you don't help him, you assist him in his vision, Stefan Kevich. You don't help him, you assist him in his vision. I thought you'd like that.
I don't know what that means. You have a vision, you don't, I don't help you reach your vision, I assist you in the vision. - I don't know if I metaphorically look at it like that one. - You know, I gotta come up with something new every day.
- Here's what I can tell you, it's like, if you're gonna really try and analyze it, metaphorically, it's like I saw this big rock, and you know that the rock, if you bring it all the way over there, it's worth a million dollars. - Right, right. - So you take a rope around the rock, and you start pulling the rock. And you might move it a little bit by yourself, but you ain't making it all the way over there.
Right. And then somebody sees that you're moving the rock. I got you. Such as yourself.
Let him finish. And you're like, hey, you're like, what are you doing? Like, I'm pulling this rock, and if we get it over there, we get paid. Like, oh, well, let me help, right?
And then, you know, a couple people come in, and you all start pulling the rock, and it slowly starts to move, right? Some people that are pulling the rock with you, they realize, this sucks, this is a lot of work, this is hard. We're not, we're not there yet. We're not close to there yet.
Right. And they get off the rope and they just kind of step away. Right. So it isn't, I don't really look at it as like, this is my vision.
And it's like, hey, just throw that around. It's beeping. I'm trying to turn it all the way off. Go ahead and check it.
Check it. It's like, hey, let's, let's, here's what, here's what, here's what I know. Here's what I believe would happen when we get to the And you know, people join in because they see something that could be really cool and be a part of it and people leave when they realize how incredibly difficult it is. Sure, people fall off along the way?
Yeah. Found to happen? Worse than that, I think that some people pull off and they just stand there and watch you pull it. Or they can pull the other way.
No, I wasn't going to say pull the other way, I would say, or what they'll do is, They'll sit on the rock, oh, I'm like, come on, let's go. Oh, me too. I want to get a piece of this. It's like, no, no, dude, it doesn't work that way.
I think that's more of the metaphor, if we're going deep. So if we move the rock over to the corner of the room, we're getting paid. I'll be right back. It's like, it's a metaphor.
It's kind of a metaphor, right? And I think that, you know, what's funny is like, I always think about that in life, Because, you know, when I see somebody else pulling their own rock, I'm like, oh, let me, let me help you with that, right? And it doesn't mean that it's gonna financially benefit me or not, but if I'm like, hey, you're a good dude, you're struggling, you're doing everything you got, like, here, let me provide some aid, like, I think that's how you need to lead your life, so. Two minutes in, deep thoughts.
It's just supposed to be a funny little quip. And then here it is. Well, it's not my vision. Just help or something, whatever you said.
I'm like, wait a second. You don't help you. You assist in your vision. I guess.
Sure. All right. Never mind. Smoking Espinosa today.
Ooh. On today's show, Michael J. Fox is alive. Hot Pursuit has a whole new meaning.
I gave away all the secrets and I didn't even get a free book. Then in Cigars, Fuente loses the fight over the X. Oh, I saw that. The new Cigars from Black Label, and a Year of the Rat Sampler.

- You kind of asked that already. - Oh. - Yeah. - Maybe they didn't watch that episode.
- When have you red-lighted? Have you given it up? - Yes, I don't have time to red-light. - I told you to bring it here.
- All right, I'll bring it in here. Put on that dome of yours. You know what I mean? I want to walk into this room, and I want to see you glowing in that office desk.
Bing. Okay? Sure. If you're a retailer and you want to go to PCA and meet with us, just hit the county link below.
Or if you're a media member, hit the county link below, you know, at this point. Oh, look, my wife's calling. Of course. Hey.
Well, in her defense, the show's early today. Yeah. Podcasting. 50 or 100 Tenders?
100. Bye. Love you, bye. Love you, bye.
Is that your dinner order? It is, my dinner order. A lot of dinners, man. Jax's birthday was yesterday.
Nice, happy birthday. And family members and stuff are coming over tonight, so I want to make sure that we're covered. Sure, you won't have enough dinners. You know, so it's not going to be, it probably will be slightly above 50, it'll probably be like some 55 will be consumed.
You know, it's not like you won't eat 'em. Yeah, it's whatever. Chicken tenders. Yeah, exactly.
So we're getting 45 tenders tomorrow, Palmer. 45 tenders. 45 tenders. Uh, no.
We'll be here with the rock. We'll see you tomorrow. Pulling. We'll be pulling that rock, waiting on the chicken.
Right. Yum, yum, yum. Are you doing the comments now or did you finish? I was gonna aggressively attack Phil there, but I let it go.
I know you were. I let it go. thank you did uh oh I'll ask this later uh okay getting into some comments let's go Ben Rowland Ben Rowland is obviously very intelligent well he's been to that part of the world he's super smart he is a very smart man he is I think that Ben needs to just come on the show one day he's welcome anytime Barefoot. Well, okay.
Well, whatever. He can't 'cause he's plowing the fields. He's plowing the fields. He said...
Oh, God. Oh, your wife. Is that your wife? No, it's just my mother.
Oh. And your watch is by the video board? Perfect. He said, Qatar is pronounced Cutter.
Cutter? Yeah. Okay. Ben, thank you very much.
Thank you. Thank you. I'm gonna tell you right now. If we're correcting Qatar at this point, there's far more worse words that Palmer always announces that are not even remotely close.
And just for the record, you're about three episodes behind. So speed it up, will you? I got something from McTavish yesterday, and I don't even know what he's talking about at this point, so I just don't even say anything. He's 60 episodes behind.
I have no idea. He messaged you? Yeah, he commented on something I mis-said or something, I didn't even, I just- He's gonna have to timestamp these things with a link. Episode number or something?
Yeah. Episode so-and-so at 20 minutes, so at least we could go and understand what the hell he's talking about. That's a good idea. When he sees this in 60 weeks, it'll start to work.
Yeah. Yeah, so next year, we'll be fine. Next year. @CW6383 says, "I was a Marine.
I keep my hair short, but Palmer isn't wrong either. Touché, Mr. McGumer. Yeah, well, you know what?
Thank you for your service. Yeah, and his hair was messed up, bro. It is what it is. He looked like he had this little peacock thing over here on the side.
He shouldn't have attacked you. I don't think that that was right. You were just looking out for him. Oh, and then a positive.
Palmer's hair is much better today. It was the hat. Is that the hat yesterday? It's still a shot.
" When did we say he was king? Am I king? King of the self... Oh, oh, oh, okay.
Self-preservation. Ginger. Yeah, and last one here. His red friend.
The unicorn. See, Epicurean Smoke does, he's very nice because he marks it. Yeah, he gives you the time. " Yes.
Yeah. I feel bad for the... Any update on the personal assistant search? Yeah, how's that going?
Yes, I hired one. Yeah. Is it a man or a woman? It could be.
Well, that's not funny. It's a legit question. You're in construction. It could be a man.
It could be a man. Yeah, what's wrong with the man, male personal assistant? I feel that in the construction, maybe any world, but any industry, I feel like women just do the paperwork better, like they're more organized, they're more on top of things. Like men, like, forget a lot of stuff.
Maybe he's concerned he'll head on his way. No. I think that's fair. I think both of those statements are fair.
Wow. Well, can we have her on the show one day? Male assistant comes in and is like, I have all the papers organized, I don't know what your husband's up to. Right, I have no idea.
He keeps calling me for Cheetos. He starts like chipping away at him. Doesn't he frustrate you? He just doesn't treat you nice.
I hear the way he talks to you when he comes in here. Yeah, you know. You deserve better. You deserve better.
I'll listen to you. Right. Yeah, listen. All of a sudden you see the desk.
Just tell me everything that he's done. The desks merge together. You get a little closer. Like, what's going on?
Oh, I just need, I just need Earl close to me. Earl. I need Earl closer. We're working good together.
We've turned the desk to face each other now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The only, well, it has to be like, you know, a guy that's a little decrepit, because he would never approve of, you know, somebody. A hot guy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, too handsome, right? Too handsome. So, but Earl figures it out, right?
Right. Knows what to say. She just wants somebody to listen. Yeah, she sees somebody to listen.
Yeah, she's stressed out because she's so pregnant. Tell the baby while you make those phone calls, it'll be fine. Yeah, I'll take care of that. I'll take care of that.
He's in there licking Cheetos off his shirt, he's in the conference room. Earl! Where are my Doritos? I paid $75 for this bag.
Wow. Wow. Yeah. Wow.
Attack Phil Thursday, here we go. No, no, no, no, no. Thanks a lot, Epicurean Smoke. I let you off the hook on the first one.
I let you off the hook, buddy. What is the new young lady's name? Don't give her last name, obviously, just the first name. He doesn't.
Rocio. Rocio. Rocio? Rocio?
Rocio? You can't even say her name? It's spelled exactly how it sounds, but because she's Spanish, it rolls off her tongue. It doesn't roll off her tongue.
Ro? Yeah, she has the R. Rocio? Yeah.
Rosalita? No. Rosita? No, it's R-O-C-I-O.
Rose, get my Cheetos. No. I told her I'm going to have to come up with a name for her. I was like, this is going to be too difficult for me.
If this one doesn't work out, can we record the interviews? Oh, that'd be nice. I'm bringing up a camera. The interviews aren't really interesting, to be honest.
Yeah? There's not a whole lot of interview. You want to work here? Good, thank you.
No. When did you start? The chips are over there. Are you able to bring those to me?
OK. Well, one of the questions I ask is-- Do you know the difference between Cool Ranch and Spicy Nacho? One of the things I tell them, I'm like, yeah, You're going to do many different things here, you know, like TF for a lot of stuff, but, you know, when I come to the door, if I need some type of food or-- Did you just say that? Yeah.
You do say that? Like, there's a lot of different-- yeah. And I'm like, you know, I have a DJ business, you might have to make me a shirt. They're like, oh, okay.
Make your shirt? They have their own shirt presses? I just-- Yeah. Dude.
No, I have my own shirt presses. Oh, okay. At the-- at midway through that interview, I'm like, I'm not doing this job. I'm either A-lying all the way through, like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll see you tomorrow.
and just ghost or be like or just look at him and and be like you serious really like d like dj and and and food i gotta be your server for the man baby yeah yes yeah every once in a while i'm gonna be smoking a cigar if you could just go like this right so that i'm gonna yell ash like an ash come in i would i would prefer that so wait so your wife does a majority of the interview i'm assuming I mean, with all the, you gotta help do permits, and this type of paperwork, payroll, blah, blah, blah. I do the phone screens, and then she does the initial part of the interview. And then you walk in, plop down, put your feet up on your face. I'm here to fuck shit up.
Oh, my God. Sometimes, you know, I need my diaper changed. Sometimes I need my ba-ba filled. Every once in a while, I'm gonna poop myself.
Wow. And when that occurs... I do not poop myself. I'm gonna yell for you.
I expect briefs, nicely folded, ready to go. I like the powder and the lotion both. Yeah, I need to be cleaned. Well, they have to be military folded, first of all.
Military, of course. Military folded. So it does happen. Is that Navy military folded?
Huh? Navy military folded. Yeah, Navy's different than Army. Army, they just like to roll their shit up and throw it in the bag.
Yeah. Yeah. Navy's, you know, nice creases, you get the lines. They call it something different, but I can't say that on the air.
Okay. Yeah, please don't. Don't say that on the air. Please don't.
You've already offended enough of our listeners. Aww. Enough. It's not a huge number.
Yeah, it's minute. For everyone that speaks out, there's a hundred more. Aww. That could be true.
That is possible. We do have like a religious 12 to 15 that watch it every morning as soon as it goes up. And we love you guys. I mean like five and nine, there's like 15 of them, every single day.
We appreciate your support. Yes. Yes. Yes.
And I miss Ken Miller already. I need him to come back and hang out for a little bit. Ken Miller? Yeah.
He popped in all the way down to Great Smoke. Oh. Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Yeah. He has like an hour drive, he says. Yeah, I mean, come on. Yeah, it's a work.
Yeah. It's not an hour drive from here. No, no, no, no. Okay.
Ready to go? Yep. I think so. All right, Michael J.
Fox is alive and doing well. He died? He was supposedly dying? CNN, supposedly, CNN has all these stories pre-made for when certain celebrities die.
Okay. I don't know if that's all celebrities, but they have certain celebrities. Well, he apparently is one of them. Somebody hit the button and released the Michael J.
Fox has died, here's a retrospective of his career. That's creepy. Right. Oh, that they have the stories or they actually released one?
Yeah. Well, what's creepy is they don't do it more often. So, well, I mean, this can't be the only one they have for them, and they get, I mean, I would imagine everybody up to a point, and they go, okay, do the death story just in case so we get it first. What are the odds that so-and-so's gonna die this year?
What is it? Could be, they could have a death pool. They got like a top 25? Right, something.
Wait, wait. What's your question, Phil? You do editing, right, Palmer? Yes.
And Mikey, you do editing too, right? I do. So, in order to put something in production, It's a little bit more than just hitting just a button right? That's correct.
It's probably on a tape or something if you go by how they do it in the movies. You know, they have stories pre-made and they're all on some type of cassette or whatever it is they use, slide it in the machine and hit and go. Well, there's no cassettes. Yeah, I think that's over.
I'm sure, I'm sure it's not that anymore. It's some type of electronic storage or something. Yeah. Yeah, but they had to go into a folder, move it over.
You know, there's a little bit more to it than just, boop, oh, oh damn, Michael J. Fox is dead. Remembering Mr. Fox.
Maybe it was a story about a different Michael or a different Fox or something they were looking for and somebody hit this one. Who knows how it happened, but the fact is it did. It feels like, to me, that somebody's gonna lose their job. Fake news.
Oh, could be. Is my point. Obviously somebody effed up, yes. Yeah.
Was this on Newsmax or CNN? CNN. Oh. It was a CNN story.
I saw an Instagram Reel today, this morning, where there's a couple of construction workers up on a roof, and they're trying to get rid of this chimney, and it said he thought it was a good idea just to push it off, and so this guy just pushes this chimney and it goes right into the roof, and the wood absorbs it and stuff. Not even like the edge of the house or something? No, no, yes, smack dab in the center of the house. Yeah, that's your seat.
Mr. Williams, you're never going to believe this, you need new roof. Yeah, after looking further, we realized that the wood is very rotted. The roof is bad too.
Yeah. May have been thermites. Possibly big thermites. By thermite, I mean heavy bricks.
Heavy brick. Yeah. I think that guy will also be looking for a job. Yeah, he'll also be looking for a new job too.
Maybe he could apply for the CNN job and they could switch. There you go. Yeah. Yeah.
Nothing will change. - Nothing will change. - Nothing will change, right. So, apparently he was appearing at PaleyFest that same day, so everybody saw that he was on stage, and they were quite surprised he wasn't dead.
- This kind of happened with Paul Walker, too, right? Everybody was on social media, Paul Walker died, Paul Walker died. " - Well, he just did an interview on, he was on somebody's show, like Conan or whoever. - Michael J.
Fox? - Yeah. - He's doing the third season of a show on Apple TV, I believe it is. - Yeah.
- He's on a show? - Yeah, he's coming back, yeah. - Yeah, he's on the third season. Harrison Ford's in it, the guy from Hollywood.
- Oh, Shrinking? - Is that the one where Harrison Ford has Parkinson? - Yeah. - Yeah.
Yeah, they meet at a clinic or something. I saw the clip. - I've talked about this with you. This is a great show.
I didn't know that was the show. You had Mission Shrieking. I didn't know it was one of the Harrison Ford. I've seen it.
I'm almost done. I have one more episode of Peaky Blinders. I'm gonna move to Shrinking now. Are you gonna go to the movie or are you just gonna skip it?
No, I'm gonna go to the movie. Oh. Should I skip it? The movie?
Yeah. No, I gotta see it, 'cause I gotta see how I like some things happen. I think you should skip it. You think so?
Just leave it where it lies. Definitely miss it. Shrinking's next, and then I gotta watch Landman. Shrinking's good.
You know what? We haven't watched it lately, dude. I've been watching much of anything lately. A lot of things going on.
Yeah. There's not anything good out right now. It's shrinking the pit. Yeah, but I don't have any of those.
But the pit's new season, has it started or is it about to start? It's about to end. Oh, I've seen a lot of news about it lately. I thought maybe it was getting ready to come back.
You know, it's a really good one that if you really want to watch it, If you like it, and it has a ridiculous amount of seasons, Chicago PD, that's a good one. We watch that all the time. Yeah? But that's the thing that you don't have to really keep up on.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you could just watch an episode. The episodes aren't connected? Sometimes they are. Well, they are, yeah.
" I just don't like, you know, that guy always burns through characters, though. So you can't really get attached, like if Kevin leaves Chicago PD, I'm done. Which one's Kevin? I don't watch the show, but I'm familiar with it.
He's the big black guy. And he's got the most in-depth stories. " You know, like the whole thing. Yeah, he's got like the best storyline.
" Right. I'm not invested with them. The only one you're invested with is Hoyt. It seems like Hoyt's not really on the show that much.
That's the head guy? Yeah. I think he has health issues, so I think he only makes appearances. Is that because of his voice?
Maybe, I don't know. Sounds like it could be something wrong with his throat or something. Yeah. He looks kind of...
Old? Old. Oh, you're getting old. He actually looks like an intelligence officer that's exhausted all the time.
- Yeah, maybe, yeah. - And, you know, kind of fits the bill. - Yeah. - Do you guys watch Madison?
Any of that? - No, what's that? - The new Yellowstone. - Madison?
- I think it's called Madison. - Is it with Rip? - No, no, that one hasn't started yet. - Then Yellowstone hasn't started.
- Well, there's Yellowstone Marshall on right now, which is, and we've talked about that. But Madison is another Montana show connected to, it's in the same universe but none of the same characters. Yeah. I'm gonna ask Kurt Russell.
Oh, it's like the generic version of Walmart? Um, it's just another, I think the only connection is they're both in Montana. Here's how, here's how I know I'm either A, going to watch this, or B, just skip. What network is it on?
Paramount. Okay, that changes things. Maybe I consider this. Kurt Russell?
Kinda. Like which Kurt Russell? They advertise that Kurt Russell is in it, and they show him all the time, but he died in episode one. Ah.
So it's like, it's like Tom Hardy in Peaky Blinders, but he just shows up, like, out of nowhere, like... No, they do, they do, like, a flashback or a memory, and then you see Kurt Russell. Hmm. Yeah, that's not good.
Right, that's what I was gonna say, it's no good, don't watch. Right. It's not good? No, I mean, I like Kurt Russell.
So I was gonna watch it for Kurt Russell, but then, you know, the first episode, I'm like, "He's dead? " So it hasn't been a good show. No, he had this place in Montana by a river, him and his brother, where they would go fishing and hang out and stuff. The wife never went, they're rich people from New York, so now she's sort of transitioning to find the life that she should have had with him type of thing.
Oh, yeah, I'm out. Yeah. See, they messed that up. If you make another Kurt Russell thing, you should make like a Captain Ron.
Got the wrong. So there's no rattlesnake in an igloo that we just throw at somebody and that bites a person? No. None of that?
There was a snake, but nobody got bit. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not interested.
No. Yeah, no. You almost duped me. It's not good.
And Marshall's not good either. Even though I keep watching it because there's nothing else on Sunday nights. Right. It's not good either.
Yeah, when it's on CBS. Casey cannot act. Well, that's on Paramount too, isn't it? Mm-mm.
Oh, I watch it on Paramount. Look, I don't know what to tell you. But yeah, the new one with Rip is starting at the end of like two weeks or something. Yeah, Beth and Rip were, they made Yellowstone.
Yeah. And it looks like the same type of show, they're just in Texas now. Yeah, perfect. I think, isn't that where Taylor Sheridan lives?
Does he live in Texas? He bought the Four Sixes. Yeah, so that's where he's at. We'll just film here.
What happened to the Four Sixes show that they started doing a couple episodes where Jimmy lives? You started to hint towards it? Well, they did a couple episodes. Did they?
Yeah, they did, but Jimmy's just not a catch. Well, I thought the pink-haired girl was ending up there, too, I read. I'm sure it'll tie in with Rip and Beth. Yeah, it does somehow.
Well, I mean, that way you can write off the four-sixes. Right. What was her name? Squeaker?
I don't know. Squeaker. The pink-haired girl. The Texan.
Right, they can't speak English. She just called me a skunk? Yeah, I don't remember her name. Grumbler.
Grumbler. It's like Grumbler. All right. Grumbler.
So, there's our TV update for Thursday. Yeah, so, Michael J. Fox is alive. Episode 60506.
All right, Hot Pursuit takes on a new meaning. An affidavit deputies say they responded to an apartment complex along Grove Street on Tuesday, just reading the beginning, to receive a call for help. Okay. A man and a woman start fighting.
Okay. He yanks off her wig. Uh-oh. Punches her, and then grabs the taters and steak cooking on the stove and throws grease in her face.
Oh, damn. Grabs her car keys and makes a run for it. Okay. I'm in trouble.
He is. Lady chases him outside. Yeah. He starts to drive away in her car, she jumps on the back of the car on the trunk, tries to hold on.
Wow, what a movie this is. Yeah, this is like a movie. So then he's hitting the brakes, trying to get her to fall off, speeding up, hitting off. She eventually falls off and scrapes up her back.
Oh no, it's Jason Bourne. The police arrive, they take her statement, she has, you know, burns on her face, road rash on her back. Yeah. They eventually catch the guy and he is, hold on, let's see what he's being charged with.
Uh, John Trey Stevens is the man's name. Okay. I'm trying to rapidly accelerate out of the parking lot. Blah, blah, blah.
He's speeding it away. He caused great bodily harm, impossible permanent disfigurement to the victim, investigators wrote. According to the BCSO, this is a Florida story, by the way, Stevens was later arrested and now faced the charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and two counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle. Oh, he said her car.
Yeah, he was in, he's being held without bond. That sounds reasonable to me. Yeah, I guess so. You don't need him coming out and going back at her.
So he's with Grady Judge. That's Brevard County. Oh, he's in trouble. Oh, he in trouble.
That's Grady's County. Grady don't play. Grady don't play. No, Grady, we hold up a picture of him next week on his press release.
This man is a problem. This man is a problem. If you see him, shoot him. But you're not going to see him because he's behind bars.
You ever had steak and potato oil thrown in your face? in your face? You seen this man? That was it.
When they're talking about him stealing, you know, you're reading the article, stealing the car and driving away. I'm like, where did the hot grease come from? How did he get a hold of hot grease? So the fight started in the apartment.
In the kitchen. Right. Near the kitchen. They snatched off her wig and smacked her.
Think about the thought process, though. Why didn't you make this rare? Think about, like, yeah, you know, you pull the wig because you're trying to yank her hair, I guess. Yeah, he's probably trying to get ahold of her or something.
Oh, it's Frank. And then you punch her. Right. And then somewhere along the line, you're like, you know what, I'm going to throw this grease.
Ugh. Right. Like, how did you get there? Might not even, I mean, depending on how she was, I imagine like a skillet or something, but you might just think he's throwing potatoes and steak at her, you know, just something he's grabbing ahold of, not thinking, I'm going to cover her in hot grease.
I don't think that was the case. That's just a byproduct. I don't think that was the case. He was mad because his whole relationship was a lie when he yanked that wig off.
You're a dude! Oh my god! No, I don't think that. Everybody knows you fight after dinner.
You don't fight before dinner. Right, you need all that protein and carbohydrates. Especially if I was going to the pokey. Right.
You wanna make sure that you're well fed? Yeah, you gotta know you're gonna end up in jail. Yeah, he's hungry. Yeah, exactly.
Bad news, yeah. He went in there hungry. He's getting a bologna sandwich right now. Probably not even that.
Surprise sandwich. Surprise sandwich. Surprise sandwich. Hi, Sammy.
" Whatever he pees. Okay. That's a good one. What else you got?
All right. Former Fort Bragg employee charged with leaking classified military information to a journalist. Oh, this is another Tom Cruise movie. It's not as good though.
It's not as exciting. Help me, Tom Cruise. So, apparently, Courtney P. Williams, 40, from an Army veteran and former Fort Bragg employee, Over a three year period was leaking information to a journalist.
- Okay. - She held top secret sensitive compartment information access. - Okay. - For some reason she was sending all sorts of information to this person.
She was assigned to a special military unit with access to elite operational intel. So she leaked classified military tactics, information, - And plans to a journalist over several years. - Okay. - She got arrested, taken into Federal Bureau of Investigations on Tuesday because the journalist used all the information she sent him and wrote a book.
- Damn. - Now, I don't know what she thought he was doing with the information, they don't say in the article. - Yeah. - But there was no money that changed hands, so it seems like most of the exchange was either over, they have hundreds of minutes of phone calls, text messages.
Oh, they were dating. Well, there's no mention of that. You'd think that would have been mentioned. It seems like a long distance type thing because everything is texts, phone calls, she sent a thumb drive to him.
There were no personal meetings where they exchanged information. Oh, seduction. Do you think that she found this man attractive? Yeah.
Maybe. How do you make the initial contact to start getting the information? Facebook dating. Yeah.
Swipey, swipey? You message. " Oh. I like your meaning.
What's probably even worse is that this is probably like a premeditated thing. You probably knew who this person was, maybe needed information, put himself in front of her. Is the book still able to come out? The book is out.
The book is out. The book is out, and part of it has been copied and published in a foreign-type website And he's called Politico. Really? Whoa.
Hold on, I'm trying to think if I have the name of the book here. Wow. I know a couple days ago, Trump came out and said that he was going to start prosecuting people who are releasing information and the media sources because somebody leaked out all the names of all the people that went in and saved that pilot. What?
Really? Wow, that just happened. I watch a video list, and I have the complete story for how he was saved. How they got him?
How they got him out. Beep. The journalist identified her as the source in the book and the article. So he hung her out to dry.
Wow. Baited her for years. Right. The book is called The Fort Bragg Cartel.
Fort Bragg Cartel. Ooh, this sounds good. Yeah. And it was also published in Politico's magazine last August under the title, My life became a living hell, one woman's career in Delta Force, the Army's most elite unit, featuring William's testimonials alleging sexual harassment while serving.
So that's the main theme of the book in this thing. Gotcha. Is the foreword where he breaks down the fact that he catfished this woman for years in order to get there? Right, that's what you think, right.
She gave me all this information without even really trying her. Yeah, I told her I loved her and she just spilled the beans. She sent documents and everything. Allegedly.
No, no, it's been proven. They have... The catfishing part. Oh, yeah, the catfishing part.
No, it's been proven. No, no, they've got her. She's in jail. She's in jail?
So he's not in jail. Yeah, they are not pressing charges at the moment against the author of the book, which seems odd. They probably will. Yeah.
Because that's like, what do they call that? Is that collusion? That's not collusion. Think, think, what is it?
What's it called, military man? Because if you don't get it, we're gonna have 75 listeners tell us what it is. Accessory to conspiracy? No, it's accessory to something, I'm sure.
Espionage? Yeah, whatever. Espionage accessory? Accessorizing your arms?
There's probably so many charges they could probably throw against them, it's not even funny. Oh yeah, they're just looking for the right one. Yeah. Which one do we want to pick?
What's the one they kill you for? Benny Garnold? Is that Nick Darnold? Treason?
Treason, thank you. Could they get her for treason? I mean, if anybody is killed or anything based off the information she gave. I mean, she didn't give it to a foreign military or anything.
Well, it is on a foreign site, though. I like that we look to Phil for expert advice on this. Closest military thing we have at the moment. I still got cassettes over here from the movies I watch, so.
When I, when I was serving, there used to be a website that was like, only for 'cause, uh, uh, uh, whatchamacallit was big, uh, SEALS? No. Scooby Doo? No, no, no, the other side.
Uh, ISIS. That was when the whole ISIS thing was going down. Yeah. And they got, like, real big.
Um, and there was a website that, there was, like, military members going on. They were releasing information to them all. To ISIS? Oh, yeah.
Like a dark web thing? Yeah, it was a dark web thing. We had a briefing every month with the captain. We all went into the theater and we'd all sit down.
He's like, all right, take your phones out. You have to do this with your settings, with your privacy on your Facebook because Facebook was getting big around that time. It was like 2009. He's like, okay, and then make sure you don't talk to this group, this group.
If anybody has some type of weird writing, when they send you messages, don't respond, they were always doing stuff like this, always briefing, but because people were releasing information, so I remember there was one guy on our base that released some information, and we went and arrested them, and after that, I don't know what happened to them, I know some other people came and grabbed them, but it was probably FBI or some bigger- My mother in Cuba, Quantico, or not Quantico, it's not in Cuba, what's the place? Guantanamo Bay. Thank you, yeah, better take them there, 'cause there's no rules. Where's that at?
It's in Cuba. Cuba. No rules there. No rules there?
It's not USA. Well, Guantanamo Bay is. Not really. Okay.
" Oh, wow. She wrote adding the legal basis as for disclosing classified information. So, I mean, she knew what she was doing was wrong, but she did it anyway. Oh, yeah.
First of all-- Over three years, 22 to 25, so over three years she's sending this dude information. I have no idea what he's doing with it, but here's some secret plans. I just trust him. I just trust him so much.
His eyes are so dreamy. Yeah, I believe him. He just looks so honest. I mean, he's a journalist.
It's not like he's gonna use this to write anything. Yeah, what does he do? He doesn't, yeah. Yeah.
He's not a big journalist. Private, where are you going with that information? Oh, nothing, Lieutenant. I'll be right back.
Right. Just have to make some copies. Yeah, I gotta go have coffee. Okay.
All right. Oh, this dumb lady. Don't say that. Allegedly.
She's been caught and they proved she did it. She's stupid. I'm sorry, it's just the way it is. Allegedly.
It's your opinion. Allegedly, it's my opinion. The facts of Palmer are his own and not the express information of the podcast. Only Palmer with the good hair though.
Palmer with the bad hair? No, I have to look at my hair every morning and worry about what it looks like. You think you're ever going to shave your hair off? Shave my head?
Yeah. No, not unless my hair goes away. Why would I shave my head? I kept it pretty short there for a while.
Goes away? Falls out, goes away. It's not going anywhere. He's saying that it's falling away.
Yeah, I know. It's been the same length for the last 20 years. It's not thinning. It's been the same way for the last 20 years.
Has it? Yes. Soft. It's very, it's like baby soft.
Coming from the guy with feathers on his face. Yeah. Well, you picked them out. Alright, you got a video?
Yes. I saw another video today, but I couldn't figure out how to get it. Oh. I would love for you to give it to me so I could pretend that I got it and then gave it to you and then watch it.
Well, I did that yesterday, and you didn't understand how it worked, and I had to edit that out of it too. I sent you guys seven videos. Yeah. I don't even watch your videos.
Oh, wow. I just hit you with the LOL. You just sent back, LOL, you didn't even watch it? No, I was driving.
I didn't watch any of them. I look at the timestamp and go, it's 1130 at 12 o'clock. Why is he sending stuff? So this is video footage from, I believe, a live webcam on the Artemis mission.
And this Nutella jar is just floating in space. It just floats right by the... Why won't it open? It just floats right by the camera.
Nice. This is brought to you by Nutella. That was good advertisement for them. Was it really on the ship or did somebody AI it?
No, this is legit. It looks like they're fixing the toilet or something. I don't know. Look how small that area is they're living in.
Yeah, it's pretty tight. That is ridiculous. Crazy. Who farted?
Who farted? Well, there's only four of us here. Do you think a fart smells in space? Yes, in a spacecraft?
But it has to rise to your nose. It's never going to go away. Well, okay. It doesn't dissipate?
I don't know what we're doing here. What's going on? I don't either. I was just wondering.
I was just thinking about it. It's one of my many questions. Here's the one thing, here's the one thing I know. What day is it on the Artemis mission?
What day are we at? Five, six, something like that? They're on their way back. Yeah.
Made the turn. I'm going to say at this point, if you were an astronaut on that ship, that Nutella jar would be completely empty. Oh, yeah. You think they only have the one?
No. Every once in a while I get a little treat. So, first of all, I just don't see how that's a stocked item on the spacecraft. Yeah, we've got the, uh, we've got the carrots, we've got the cucumbers, we've got the...
Well, like I said, it's a treat, doesn't have to be cooked. One of them likes it. Yeah, somebody likes it. Yeah, there's one person.
Maybe everybody gets to request one thing. Do they smuggle it on, like contraband? Oh. I think they're pretty tight with the inspections, isn't it, would you?
Yeah. How tight? How tight? Not tight enough for a toilet.
Um... Well, in the, in the movie, uh, Apollo, Didn't the Kevin Bacon character sneak stuff on in his pockets and stuff so he could say it was been to space and sell it or give it away when he got back? Really? Something got loose or something and it messed up his flight.
Oh, really? Yeah, he brought in like little key chains of rockets and little rocks to stay in the mirror. Right. That was in the movie, I don't know if it's true or not.
I didn't remember him being like a... Kevin Bacon? A flea market guy. Oh, I'm not a flea market.
I mean, you know. I've got keychains, I've got that. Well, you know, I've got a keychain that's been to outer space. All from space, come by, come by.
Maybe he was giving away to his wife and kids or something, who knows, but, I mean, you know. He was giving away to his wife and kids. Yeah, can you give your wife a keychain that's been in outer space? Yeah, sure.
Rosary, go get the keychain. Go get the keychain, Rosary. I need you to find this. And stop with the Cool Ranch Doritos, I like nacho cheese.
This is not okay. It's just not, we talked about this. I like how we're all talking in an accent, though. Well, you said you were Spanish.
That's how you speak. That's how I speak? Yeah. Well, you're speaking to her so she understands.
That's how you speak. That's your Spanish. Oh, okay. Yeah.
Hello. Does she speak Spanish? Is that a plus? Yeah, she speaks Spanish, yeah.
That's absolutely a plus. Well, I mean, I've seen his staff lately out around. It's not, you know, it looks like they all speak English, the guys that show up here. Yeah, Javi.
Javi speaks Spanish and English. Is that the guy with the beard? Yeah. I like him, he's very nice.
Now Javi can come in and talk smack about the boss. Right. To the lady. Yeah.
Oh, he speaks Spanish, sticks to Spanish. El jefe is muy stupido. Spit en el nachos. Wow.
Spit en el nachos? Spit en di Doritos. Wow. Get Cool Ranch, he hates Cool Ranch.
Let me see, how do you say spit in the nachos? They spit in Doritos. Doritos, I guess, would just be Doritos. Yeah.
Spite. Don't worry. I tell her to get you the nachos. It'll be fine.
En el cheese. Nacho cheese. Escuper en los nachos. Wow, we weren't too far off.
Escuper en los nachos. Escuper. I can't wait to see her. Can't wait to see her?
I'm going to go after her and say. Wow. Escuper en los nachos. Okay.
What were we talking about? I don't even remember what we were talking about. Who knows? Nutella.
Who cares? Yeah. All right, on to Cigar News! Yay!
Yay! Fuente loses the Dab-X trademark appeal. Oh. So Dab-X, I'm assuming by the name, is a company that does dabs, which I believe is a wax or some type of marijuana product?
Uh-huh. Uh-huh. They have an X as part of their logo. An X, wait, hold on, hold on.
Oh, no. Where'd you get this from? 'Cause I saw it on Epicurean Smoke's page. Half-wheel.
You got off Half-wheel. I saw it on Epicurean. S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled against Arturo Fuente in a trademark dispute with a company that sells Dab Rigs.
For nearly five years, the cigar company has been opposing efforts by Dab X, a company that sells electronic Dab Rigs, To register a trademark, the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted DabEx a trademark for the mark below, which Fuente says infringed on two of its trademarks. Connected to the Fuente Opus X brand, while dab rigs have cigar and cigars are hardly the same thing, trademarks can categorize into different groups of products. Smoking and vaping products both fall under the same category, 0-3-4. That's a mistake.
That's not the category? No, that shouldn't happen. That they shouldn't be in the same? Correct.
Oh. Sometimes companies will specify that their marks will only appear to certain segments, which is the 034 category, though other times the trademarks are applied for in a broad manner. In this case, Vaporous Technologies LLC, the owner of Debex, specified the mark would apply to oral vaporizers only. Just so you know, he sourced, he said source half-wheel at the bottom of it as well.
Epicurus Month? Yeah. Oh. So this DAB guy's about to get paid.
No, he's just... No, he just gets to keep his logo. It's an X with two dots over it or something. And it took like five years.
Yeah, this has been five years, they've still been using it, but now they lost. Oh, so Fuente doesn't have to change this? No, no, Fuente wanted them to change theirs. Okay, got it.
They didn't want them to be opus ex dab rings. Okay. You know, like, when I looked at this, I'm like, well, this is dumb initially. However, as you kind of look forward more and more in the article and the dispute for the trademark, I'm like, okay, that makes sense.
Because, again, if you're going to categorize both of them in the same thing, then, hey, no, right? And the reality is, the court kind of just said, well, they're two totally different things. Right. So now you're like, right, right.
These are two completely different things. There should be a category for tobacco, cigars, and then there should be a category for everything else. They shouldn't be lumped under the same trademark. Oh, the court said, "Vay vs.
" The two stick figures look like an X, but they're really just crossed lines. If I was the other organization, I would have moved to try and push for some separation. Like, these are two totally different categories in life. I don't understand why the the US PTO keeps them in the same round.
Yeah, I don't know either. You know what I mean? This is the federal court? It got kicked up to federal court.
It got kicked up to federal after five years. Oh my lord, how much do you think that this whole thing cost it? Lawsuits? A whole bunch, yeah.
A whole bunch of money. Oh my lord. So the stick figure has no pronunciation. Unlike the letter X, the party's marked different in sound also.
After the trademark trial and appeal board denied the appeal, Fuente took the next step, Suing in federal court, a three-judge panel upheld the previous decision. Curiously, the court agreed with the board's decision that Fuente's X trademark may lack standalone recognition because they are often used in conjunction with other names. There is some evidence that Fuente's X marks may have standalone sourcing recognition, C, and then there's a bunch of other things, but there is also substantial evidence that Fuente's use of the X mark has historically been integrated into other marks or displayed along other items. Ah.
So they never use the X by itself, is what they're saying. Wasn't there MX2 from CAO? Did they win or they lost? I haven't heard how that worked out, but yeah, there was one there too.
Yeah. But I mean, that was definite Rainbow X on their cigar. That was a while ago. I could understand.
It was last year, I believe. MX2? MX2 is much older. No, but the lawsuit we talked about last year, I believe.
Yeah. I can understand, like, wasting, not wasting, but spending money on court cases for your brand if it looks close. I just don't understand the spending feverishly on stuff that's not even close. Okay, well, where's the line?
Right, yeah, that's what I'm saying, I just don't understand it. Listen, Opus X is iconic, it's a legacy. Correct. If you walked up to a guy that knew nothing about cigars, you still got a chance that he would say, oh yeah, the Opus X.
Have you ever smoked the Opus X? Right? So if you own that brand, then you got to swing at everything that you think is even questionable. Yeah, this one, I don't know, it falls in the same category as us, they use the X, we should probably challenge it.
Right? Just in order to, even if you think that you may lose, just to protect the integrity of that brand. You know, so, I don't begrudge them for doing this. I think realistically, they need to be separated.
They shouldn't be in the same category at all. " Right. That's what I was getting at. Well, that's the argument that ultimately won in this scenario, right?
And I would say, but I would say, okay, yeah, you're right, you know, but I would argue the point as to, should it belong in our category? No, because of the product it is, I don't believe it should either, it should be two separate categories. That's what I'm saying. But when they originally made all these categories, they didn't care, they didn't.
Correct, so upgrade it. If you're gonna regulate something, and you see that this doesn't make sense, then fix it. That's the problem. The problem, more often than not, is that you see regulation, and it doesn't make any sense.
So you either A, walk it back and unwind it completely, or B, define it better. - Right. - So. - Like with terrorists, terrorists all have codes, you know, put you in different categories.
- Right. Like you could do, I mean like if you have something you could, you can be inventive and they don't usually challenge you. I don't understand what you're saying. Okay, let's say like you make a window hardware.
Okay. Window hardware has a category. Right. But if you list it as something else, if you don't call it window hardware, you might be able to get into a category that has a lower tariff.
Even though it is window hardware. Okay. Well, I can tell you that when you go and file a trademark, you can file a trademark in specific categories. Yeah, I've filed trademarks before.
So if I wanted to file a trademark for keychains, there's an actual place for that, right? Or it might not be the same thing as apparel. Those are two separate entities. Yeah, I have to know what the category specific is for this number.
Like is it smokable something? It's listed as smoke and vaping. We're always looped in with the vaping people. Oh, smoke and vaping.
This is where Sarah will have to chime in, Ben's wife. Yes. And break it down for us. Break it down for us, yeah.
Yeah, 'cause one of these is, not THC, but whatever you want to call it, marijuana type. Dab, yeah, the dab rig. Right. They shouldn't be in the same category.
Right. At least in my opinion. So, apparently, cigars, vaping, and glass pipes, and accessories... Pookas.
Yeah, probably everything in there. So, just basically anything that provides some type of smoke. Right, right. Crack.
Right, I would like to get a trademark for my crack, please. But yeah. You see the problem with that? Right.
Well, no, no, sure there's a problem, right. And that kind of brings you all the way back to the simple aspect of FDA when they tried to regulate premium cigars. What are we defining as premium cigars? Right, exactly.
What is a premium cigar? Right? Right. Well, we need to know the water source at the factory.
Yeah, well what do you, what exactly are you trying to regulate? What, what's your, what, what's the issue that you feel that needs to be regulated? Is it a convenience store, you know, infused cigars that are being broken apart and used for other things? Is that what you're trying to regulate?
Then what are you trying to go for? Doesn't even make it, same with the UTL. Right. Well, it's, you know, we consider it a wholesale, where it doesn't have to be tracked if it's above this price point, and that's considered premium.
That's how you define? That doesn't make any sense. Well, and also, to be flavored, it has to be flavored like something, so like Sweet Janes aren't affected because it's not… Right, because they don't say chocolate… Right. …or blueberry… Right.
Well, that UTL thing, you could just look at it and see that it's just for money. That's all that is. The majority of things, I believe, for taxation are for money. It's kind of in that, so this is a tax, right?
What are you saying? Regulate. Regulate's not for money. Regulate is for, I would think, for safety or health, you know, something like that.
It's supposed to be. Right. But they use that to get the money. Yeah.
Oh. Let's regulate, which really means make somebody else pay. Maybe you can do something else. I saw a funny TikTok about, I don't even know the amounts.
Look, I'm going to screw up the amounts. Was it last night? It was, I saw it last night. It was one of Phil's TikTok.
When you weren't, when you were not watching mine. Yeah, when I wasn't watching yours. You sent yours this morning. No, no.
No, it was like 11:30, 12 o'clock last night. Oh. What, do you shut me off until the morning? No.
Normally, I respond to everything. I must have saw that, and I was like... Wow. Sorry.
So it was like, you know, ways to solve the homeless in California with the $25 billion or whatever the amount was that was given out. It was like, give each homeless person $150,000. Build a home for each. Like, it went through this whole list.
Build homes for each individual or something like that. And I thought that was hilarious. Right, because, you know, this money was given for this, and it was not even close to solved. No, because they need money for their golf trips and jets.
Is that what it is? Yeah. Super expensive. It's unrelated, but you say convenience store.
Maybe think about it. I read an article. What's the number one-rated convenience store for customer service in America right now? Ooh.
Buc-ee's. Mmm, that's a good one. I'm gonna say... Number five.
Wawa. Number one. Boom. Really, Wawa?
Yeah, Buc-ee's is number five. I would think Buc-ee's would be better than Wawa. On their rating scale, no, it's number five. It's too big of a place.
When you need help, you can't find somebody. Yeah, that is hard, yeah. Yeah, the places are always so packed. You can find the mascot.
I try my best to steer clear of any of these things, convenience stores. Oh, I like to go into Buc-ee's, get a nice little five minute break from driving, and the bathrooms are always clean, and get a snack. I don't even, I don't. Jen's treats it like Disney World.
Does he? " When I went open in Daytona, we made a day trip out to see it and had lunch. We sat on the back of the car, we opened up the hatch on her car, she had a hatchback at the time, and we sat there, ate our barbecue sandwiches. Oh.
Oh, we've never been. Let's go to that one at Daytona. That's why I can't get a parking spot there. We're going to go to the picture show.
How can you not get a parking space at Bucky's? I just... Yeah. That's like saying I couldn't find an empty gas pump.
Right. I just, yeah. 75 of those. Well, I just park at the, because I park in the diesel by the Death Fuel.
I just park out there. All right, Black Label Trading Company is adding a trio of Tauros. Oh. Black Label Trading Company has announced that three of its lines will be getting a new Tauros And there's a regular production line extension.
Interestingly, they aren't exactly the same size Toros. The three new cigars are Black Label Traded Company Deliverance Porcelain Toro, a 6x50, Black Works Studio Rorschach Toro, 6x48 Toro, and the Black Works Studio Rorschach Sumatra Toro, also a 6x48. Was the first one a 6x48? Oh no, 6x50, 6x48.
And then another six foot for you. Ah, blend wise, porcelain uses, well we don't, there's three of them, we don't need to know the blends for each one. It's whatever the regular cigar is, same thing. I'm excited to add these two Vitolas to the core line, said James Brown, not the godfather of soul, different James Brown.
Yes, the boot father of the cigar industry. James Boot Brown. The shoe father. Yes.
Owner of the brands in a press release, as a brand committed to continuous evolution and innovation, We strive to bring fresh experiences to our customers. That's cool. I hope they don't get whacked with some surprise tariff this year at PCA. Oh, that'd be terrible.
You know? We just shipped in all the new Toros. We gotta pay an extra $75,000. Hello, we're Uncle Sam.
We're here to collect. Tyler's working on something with them, too. Yes, that is his next cigars coming out with them. Yeah.
You think Tyler's gonna make one with everybody? No. No. - No.
- No, Tyler's gonna, Tyler's gonna make a few, with some, some different companies who he likes, and- - Think he settles on one? - No. Why? - Well, like, he makes, he makes cigars with these multiple factories, he goes, "You know, I really like blah.
" - I don't think so. I think, 'cause, you know, I think it's like, um, I don't know, I'm trying to use a good analogy. It's like, if you want to make a good steak, you go to the place that makes a good steak, if you want to make a good pizza, you go to the pizza place, right? Ah, so he keeps making it for cigars.
You think he ever settles down and does like a Coraline type thing, like this one's going to be available all the time, not just these one and done's? You know what kind of commitment that takes? That's tough, that's tough. Yeah.
You know, I think realistically this is, these are good learning experiences for Tyler, the way that he's kind of... Sure, it's a good way to get into it. the way that he's kind of going about it. Right.
And I think that he's learning about characters of individuals and how operations are ran and what's kind of beneficial for him as well as the other parties involved. And I think that if he, if he made a core, there's, he's got too much going on to commit to that, at this point. Yeah. So.
I do like the variety cheesecake. He likes the variety cheesecake. No, I do. What?
I don't know, we're talking about food, so. Oh, you like different cheesecakes? Yeah. I like the standard cheesecake.
Really? Maybe a fruit topping. You put strawberries or cherries? I can go either way.
Oh, okay. Blueberries, too. Oh, you're Russian. Russian?
Yeah, blueberries, oh my lord. Blueberries on cheesecake? It's not good. Oh, yes, it is.
Alright, here are the rat headlines. The headlines, Liga Privada's new Connecticut River Valley Selection Sampler. Wow, wow. An ooze sampler coming from our friends at Drew Estate includes some of the company's most sought-after creations.

Yes. Liga Privada, Connecticut River Valley. Yeah. So how can it be one of the most sought-after cigars if it's new?
Because they say so. Because people are probably excited about it. So people are probably anticipating it. So it's sought after.
Okay. The Connecticut River Valley. I wonder if they're getting this stuff from Nick. Let's read on and find out.

Anybody? Freedom of Dollars? How many cigars is in it? You just got to guess now at this point, because we're losing it.
Well, I said how many in the story, and then I said each name of each one. If there's five, I'm gonna go with 70 bucks. If there's ten... No, you just gotta pick a number.
Oh, 120. To be fair, Phil, I wasn't paying attention either. Okay, 120 bucks. I'm gonna say 160.
$95. You win! Yeah, I win! Hit the sparkler!
Oh, that's right, you don't have those. That's right. Here they go! Oh, now they list his name as Jonathan Sand.
That's not right. Yeah, he changed. He didn't change it, it's always what it was, apparently. He went back government name.
Yeah, there's a quote by Jonathan Sand. Co-founder of Drew's State in a press release. The price point is absolutely perfect. Oh, no Jonathan Sand voice?
No, you guys aren't paying attention. I don't even know that. He got me locked in when he said there was a quote from Jonathan Sand. Sorry.
Because I wanted to see it. I don't even know. You're not doing it? - Come on!
- You guys weren't paying attention, then you talked amongst yourselves about how you're not paying attention. - Do it. - So now, time for the industry's favorite game. - Wow!
- What's the score? - Wow! - Today's cigar, April 17, 2019, reviewed by Mr. Brooks Whittington Cigars, the Crux Limited Edition Nicaragua, pre-release, reviews the Crux Epicurean Short Salamone, pre-release.
- You're first. - I'm first. For that. 88.
Crux? Crux. Pre-release. Pre-release.
Salomon. Salomon, 2019. Mini Salomon. 85.
Crux Epicurian Short Salomon, Country of Origin, Nicaraguas, from the Plasencia Cigar Factory, Ecuadorian Connecticut, binder, Nicaraguan filler, Nicaraguan length, 6x54, perfecto. 99, and they smoked three. This released before the world went upside down. 2019.
In a world where everyone wears masks. One man. 88. 85.
Oh, are you tired? Clue number one. Is it tired? Is this nap time?
Yes. Oh, it's my nap time, too. Outstanding construction from start to finish. Quick, even light, excellent draw after the cut, The cut and a mostly consistent burn that never required touch-ups.
Smoke output was heavy and satisfying the entire way. T-Money just commented: "First of all, Palmer, I sent you five, not dozens. Second, I didn't know you were going to say it on the show because all you did was laugh at an image. I sent it to Mikey because he engages and appreciates my comedic input.
" I think he only sent me two. '" You over-exaggerated, huh? Well, Team Money. It's called artistic licensing, that's what you do when you're in the entertainment building.
Maybe you should hit it more than just a simple LOL. Yeah, exactly. All right. Maybe you should show some appreciation to Team Money.
I'm off the list now. He's one of our best supporters of CHPOD. Yes, he has my personal phone number. He's a big believer in Postina.
He named his dog, Wojtek. Like, what? Maybe a whole sentence back to him. Hey, that's really funny.
I appreciate you. Something. Send him flowers. I want you to send him flowers.
Daisies. Send him some daisies. Not sending him flowers. Yes.
He said you made the list. Roses. What? He said you made the list.
Yeah, no, I'm on the list. Yeah. You're on many lists. Yeah, I'm on everybody's list.
Yeah, definitely on Keanu's list. Right. I found his wallet. He loves me now.
And there's a list? Did you look through it? I had to see whose wallet it was, so I just opened it. So you saw the list?
I saw the list. People to Unalive. Oh, that's what that piece of paper was, his name said. Yeah, first one said Palmer, second one said Palmer, third one said Mike Palmer.
I crossed my name off, I wrote yours. Thank God. Yeah. Expedite this process, will you?
Did you guys give scores for the first score? No, he has to give his. 88. 85.
Clue number two, flavor profile is complex and evolves nicely. Starts with creamy hay and peanuts, transitions into cedar, leather, and espresso, with a standout vanilla sweetness and balanced white pepper on the retrohale, adding depth. 89. Get this ready.
85. Overall strength is on the lighter side, spends most of the experience in the mild range, and only creeps into medium at the very end, which may not satisfy smokers looking into a fuller bodied cigar. 89. 86.
Final thought: I've always said that Connecticut-wrapped blends are one of the toughest to get right, especially in today's cigar market. Make it too mild, it becomes a boring mess. Make it too strong, and it will overwhelm some of the nuances that a lighter blend brings to the table. Having said that, the Crux walks the line nicely.
The great, creamy profile that includes lemongrass and peanuts, along with some nice white pepper and vanilla bean sweetness. Packaged with enough body and strength to keep things interesting, in addition, the construction was easily good enough, I did not have to worry about the entire smoke. While it is not the best cigar the Crux has to offer, this would be the Limitada PB5, the Epicurean Smoked Salamone. It's something for just about everyone.
Wow. It's not the best cigar, but it's for everyone. Ninety. Really?
Oh, eighty-nine. You went the wrong way. Really? Ninety-one!
Unbelievable. Hit the sparklers! Yes, they're not working. No one warmed them up.
Oh, they were warmed up. Oh, they're off. They did turn off. Oh, you messed it up.
We're not paying for that. So once again, folks, there will be no sparklers. No sparklers. Kick 'em, kick 'em, shake 'em up.
Heat, heat. What's it say? It says heat. They've been on for over 67 minutes.
They probably turned off after a while. They probably shut off. Overheated? If you want to hang out, we can make it go and then I'll cut it in.
Okay. video wow really we're gonna do that i could cut out yesterday's and put it in you wear the same shirt nobody will know yeah so we're not buying them we just need one good shot of you with how long does it take the heat up i don't know they're not mine greg your sparklers don't work where's our pyrotechnics guy i think the best thing i did for you is pick these up instead of you taking these i think well i was a little skeptical when i saw him at his house yeah a little shady he had to keep shaking them and stuff i was like you really gotta shake them yeah you Joey tells me I'm doing it wrong. I'm like, there's three buttons on the remote, Greg. Making noise now.
They're about to blow up. Oh, there we go. He's dead. Iranians.
Iranians. Send them the sparkler machine. This is where they started. We get them now.
Very sad. Okay, anything else? So, well, there was, let's talk about the war for a minute. They did the two-week ceasefire so everybody could get their list together of what they want to not keep the war going.
Right. So that's what everybody's working on. That's why we were saying yesterday, why give them two weeks? Just bomb them now.
Didn't Israel, but Israel hit Lebanon or something as well. Yeah, there's something going on with somebody else now. There's no sparks. Up, up, up.
Nothing. One. One is kind of a little, you know, underwhelming. Hold on.
Hold on. You said you gotta hit 'em or something, right? You gotta shake 'em. Shake 'em up.
Shake 'em up. Shake 'em up. Shake it. Shake it like a salt shake.
Sometimes the stuff gets stuck, he said. I'm like, these things are a pain in the ass, Greg. Sometimes they get stuck. Sometimes you gotta shake 'em up.
Nope. Maybe they're out of stuff now. Yeah. Put some paper in it.
Put some paper in it. Pour gasoline in one of them. Yeah, dump one of the ashtrays in it. You think they're out of sparklers?
He said we would never use up the stuff he put in it, but I mean, you have to eventually. Yeah, and here we are. I'm thinking the rubber-capped hole is where you put the stuff. Yeah.
So, I mean, you want to dump it all over the floor. Greg obviously doesn't know how Mikey likes to celebrate. One more time. Wait, wait.
I saw a little spark. A little spark? It's sparking low. It's not even clear in the chair.
Oh! Want to hit the ceiling? Don't turn around and hit you in the eyeball! It's gotta be out.
You need to put on your metas. Oh, yeah. Did we go Facebook lab? Haven't done that.
Oh, yeah. Want to try real quick? Nah. All right.
This concludes our episode. 70 minutes. All right, this has been episode 506. Thank you, everybody.
