ACHP Episode 524 You Can't Say That

Episode Summary
Episode 524 of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast finds Mike Palmer, co-host Mikey and engineer Phil in a loose, banter-heavy mood before getting to the week's cigar news. The opening half hour is pure off-topic crew talk: the cookie-eating contest winner (T-Money, with two cookies and a knuckle sandwich hat as his prize), CH Pod swag and Patreon promos, the firing of Orlando Magic coach Jamahl Mosley, Spirit Airlines' bankruptcy and JetBlue picking up the pieces, and Mikey's youth basketball and flag football coaching side projects.
The news block runs through the ongoing sloth sanctuary death-toll story and its criminal investigation, a Pennsylvania man arrested for breaking into a Burger King to drink used fryer oil as part of a "high-fat survival diet," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd's 266-arrest human trafficking and prostitution sting, an update on the MV Hondius polar cruise ship denied docking at Cape Verde after three passenger deaths from a rat-borne respiratory illness, and the expanding salmonella recall on Great Value and Mama Cozzi frozen pizzas sold at Walmart and Aldi.
Cigar news centers on Villiger Söhne AG naming Christoph Schupbach as its new CEO, taking over from Clemens Guttermann roughly a year after the death of Heinrich Villiger. The crew spends real time on the fact that Schupbach comes from the Swiss lighting industry with no tobacco background, and debates whether a cigar company CEO needs to actually smoke and understand the product. They also cover Loaisiga Cigars shipping limited edition 6x54 box-pressed Toros for both the Infiel Sun Grown (Ecuadorian Habano wrapper) and Infiel Maduro (Mexican wrapper), each with a touch of broadleaf and Nicaraguan filler from Jalapa, Condega and Estelí, at $22.50 per cigar — with commentary from co-owner Silvio Loaisiga on controlling their own tobacco.
The show closes with "What's the Score," the guess-the-review-rating game using Brooks Whittington's Cigar Coop reviews. First up is the Villiger TAA Exclusive 2025, a Honduran 6x52 puro from Fábrica de Puros/Maya Selva Cigars, praised for creamy cedar, citrus, nuts, bread and cocoa but dinged for lacking sweetness and having minor burn issues — final score 86. Second is the Viso Horny 555 (the "triple nickel") from Nicaragua, a 5x55 with a USA broadleaf wrapper, Cameroon binder and Honduran/Nicaraguan filler, delivering creamy oak, peanut butter and dark chocolate in an impressive sophomore release — final score 89, which Palmer nails on the head amid accusations of cheating and a running bit about Phil wearing Mario and Sesame Street character masks.

Welcome to Cigar Hustler Podcast, episode 524! I'm Mike Palmer, your host, and with me today in engineering is Phil. Can someone get me decent Oreos McGuffey? Yeah, those other ones are horrible.
Those were good. This is my co-host Mikey. It was Preston Day, so I am so relaxed, Stefan Kevich. Very relaxed.
Why? Well, you know, Preston takes care of him. On today's show, a Whopper may save his life. An update to the deadly cruise story.
Sheriff Grady Judge is cleaning up Polk County. Don't eat the pizza at Walmart. Uh-oh. Then in cigars, we have a portal entry that's super bright, and a A new cigar before another.
Double. What's the score? Double the score. But before we get started, Michael.
Yes. How do we get some of that CH Pod swag? And would you like to announce the winner of the cookie-eating contest? Yes.
The winner of the cookie-eating contest is T-Money. Oh! With two cookies! He snuck it in on Real Smoke Pod.
Nobody beat him. Real Smoke Pod had three. Phil, you held tight with just the one. I thought they were good.
I didn't like them. I will tell you this, I pooped this morning, and it was blue. Did you get nervous? And I'm like, what did I eat?
Was it really blue? Yes. I'm like, what is that? Blue dye number five?
Yeah, I thought it was RFK for a minute. I don't know what happened there. Blue? Blue.
Huh. Oh, you know what? I mean, I only ate the two icings, but mine was discolored, but it wasn't blue. Mine was blue.
Well, you ate 17 cookies. I did. I am the king of the cookie eating. There were some hanging around.
Yeah, you guys missed it on that one. You should have picked Mikey over here. Yeah, we went in a different direction. Yeah.

You fixed it, but it's not perfect. I need that top to be corrected. I did correct it. You haven't sent me the correction.
Yes, I did. No, you said that you did, you didn't. You said that you did, you didn't. I did too.
Okay. You didn't. Maybe he received it when he was pooping blue stuff. Maybe.
Maybe. He got all excited. Yeah. With the blue poop.
Some comments from yesterday's show. Let's see here. T-Money, I'm with Palmer. All right.
End of that comment. I ain't gonna finish reading it? I'm with Palmer. Flown spirit dozens of times.
They often times usually get upgraded to what? The chicken crate? They have a business class. Also 34 years without a crash.
That's right. No crashing. You said they have a business class. What is it?
You sit in your seat and they give you champagne? No, you have more leg room. Right over there because it doesn't matter what size you sit in, they're all tight. They have more leg room?
Yes. Well, guess what they had because they're out of business. Well, they still have the leg room. Actually, now the planes are for sale.
Done. It's probably not even champagne. It's probably like a Zima. Ooh, Zima.
I heard the JetBlue's moving in. Like, they're just taking over the spaces. They're hiring their employees. That makes sense.
They were gonna buy the company anyway. Now get it out of steel. So now they get everything in free. Right.
Start repainting the planes. Start repainting the planes. The JetBlue planes are nicer. They do have leather seats.
They have to remodel the planes. Yeah. I've never flown on JetBlue, but I hear it's nicer. Oh, yeah.
Maybe they'll make it like Jet Yellow. Y'all are a new division? Yeah. " That was the one that you picked.
Oh, last year's. No, two years ago, buddy. Oh, that's right, '24. It's all right.
" You said I saw some of those. What was that? I saw some of those at the ticket counters, people bringing into fights like it's a carnival cruise line. Yeah, all kinds of crazy stuff.
Ruckus Unchained, you should make a Postana Challenge coin. I saw that this morning. We've talked about that several times. Yeah, we've entertained that idea.
Never gotten to it. Maybe it would come to fruition. You had one. I had a Cigar Husser coin.
Rook's Coatings Made Us. Right, I mean, it would be easy to change it to Postana. Yeah, we could. If you're watching, Charles.
He's watching. He's watching. If you want to hear your comment read on the show, post it below. We may read it out loud.
What else did I not cover? I don't know. Patreon. Did you do the buy one, get one, 10% off, whatever it is?
I did. I love that. I'm going to launch that blue shirt, I think, sometime this week. I just got to survive this week.
Oh, my God. Blue shirt? What's going to be on the blue shirt? You.
Oh, 4th of July shirt, or Memorial Day. Well, El, will be this for the summer. Summer shirt. Summer swag.
Summer of Palmer. You good? No, my back muscles lock it up as I sit here. Sitting on a bean?
No, yeah, sitting on a bean. Summer of soccer. Are y'all done? Summer of skip.
Are we moving on? Time to go? I think so. I'm ready when you are.
That was a little fast. It was fast. You're only five minutes in. Normally, you go to seven.
So, talk about something else for a minute and a half. So how about that right on in here, guys? Oh, I will tell you. All right.
How do you feel about Coach Mosley getting fired from the Magic? Long overdue. You think it was long overdue? We don't do sports anymore.
I'm going to absorb three minutes right here. Yeah. Why? Because this guy's rotations are horrible.
His rotations are horrible? Yeah, this isn't the YMCA. This is the NBA. Is he putting all the kids in?
Yeah. He's like, "Oh, hey, you guys still sit on the bench. " All the low-income children he's putting on them? Yeah.
Come on. Dude. You think that's how he coaches? Yeah.
I don't think that's how. Oh, yeah, me too. Every time somebody gets hot on that team, he pulls them out. All right, you look like you need a rush.
You're getting too hot. Sit down. Well, maybe they're tired. What was really bad, though, is that he was supposed to be fired a month ago.
The front office was going to fire him. But then when they talked to him, he asked him if he could finish out the season. That's probably the worst thing you could possibly do. Why?
Because why does he care? He already knows what's happening. He wants to finish out the season. No, I don't think so.
Unless he starts tanking the games on purpose. There is no tomorrow, man. That makes you more dangerous. Maybe they went on a 0-9 losing streak, you know?
Well, I like to coach Mosley. I'm going to miss him. His kids are cool, too. We should have him come do the show.
He has a lot of free time. I'd love to have him coach a couple games for me. But he's no good, I heard. That's his opinion, and my opinion is different.
You let all the kids play anyway. I mean, listen, do you really think that I'm that good? I'm like, I'm just there. Does he give out dum-dums?
I give out the dum-dums. Oh, so you're still going to show? Yeah. Sit on the other side.
Sit on the sidelines. So you're going to downgrade yourself to just the dum-dum guy? Not even that. " You know, do all kinds of crazy stuff, and then at the end I will give out the dumb-dumbs.
Okay. Yeah. I thought you were getting your own league, now you're just downgrading back to the parents. It's flag football league, it's basketball that he's coaching now.
Well, I'm doing both. What he's putting together is flag football league. Yeah, you could have, no, you could have like a multi-league. I hear the conversations between him and Preston every week with her, tell each other how great they are.
This is how you open the bank account. Right. This is your shirt design I did for you. This is, um, here's a list of people that I wouldn't let play in my league.
You might use them. Wow. It's a great idea how to start your league. Wow.
That last comment was epic. Wow. Here's the people I wouldn't use in my league. But you may use them.
Yeah, Preston, he didn't like these people. They were difficult to use. They were, exactly, they were all, they really didn't have children. Wow.
They weren't children, they were just midgets. - They were borrowing kids from other families. - Wow. - Oh God.
- All right, let's get going then. You guys done? Are we done making fun of Mikey now? - I didn't know anybody was in this room with us, by the way.
- I'm sure Coach Mosley will land on his feet. It's gonna suck to see him go. - Maybe he can coach football. Take some of the teams off you.
- I think he's pretty good at basketball and stuff. - Oh, maybe he needs a change of sport. - And I like his kids. His kids are always around our games and stuff.
We always play against them sometimes, other stuff. - Oh, really? So you have access to him. I've seen him, yeah.
But I don't bother him. Well, now you can. Yeah, because he's just a regular dad. Hey, we do a podcast.
Would you like to come on and hang out for a day? Maybe say your piece. Say your piece? We're highly listened to.
Yeah. We don't even talk about sports. And when he gets on here, we hit him with questions. Hit him with questions.
Hit him with questions. We can make Palmer ask him about sports. Oh, God. He'll leave in five minutes.
So how do you like being a quarterback? They're talking about quarterbacks a lot on the other show that I have to sit through. That sometimes I don't click, I don't flip back and forth, I give up about halfway. What type of racket do you have?
I fall asleep, I'm sorry, I lose interest, it's a dull topic for me. I tried to word that as nicely as possible. Dude, I go through and I edit these clips and I hear me talking and it's just staring at Preston. I did a lot better job today.
I'll be the judge of that. Well, you know, free is free, you get what you pay for. It is what it is, I guess, yeah. Oh, I hate that saying.
Oh, sorry. You guys are making fun of my snacks now, you can provide snacks. That would be something. Some snacks.
Yeah, doesn't Preston have a snack company? No. Doesn't he? Doesn't he do like the vending machine filling stuff or something?
No. Oh, I thought he did. He doesn't have a vending machine? No, he would have several of them, not just the one.
That'd be silly. No, he's got the company, Two Guys Snacks. Two Guys Snacks. Preston's Snack Lab.
All right. The death toll has risen once again. Dumpling died overnight. Oh, my God.
We're down to 11 survivors from the sloth world death camp now. We're at 53. Yes, there's only 11 left. Maybe he was doing a weird experiment.
Maybe they did have a virus of some sort. Two are still guarded. No, they're undernourished and they have malnutrition and they can't bounce back. Mmm.
So there's two more on the watch list currently. It seems one died. Two more pop up, so... Oh my goodness.
I don't know how many he's going to get down to. They have, they are doing a criminal investigation against the guy. Yeah, you said that. And he used to work for a turtle saving organization, rescue, turtle rescue, sea turtle rescue.
They're pushing for them to file charges against him, so apparently he did not leave there on good terms. I feel like turtles are easier than sloths. Well, apparently it was a problem at the turtle place, too. Yeah.
So. Right. Nobody warned anybody? Apparently not.
Apparently they don't do background checks when you fill out your forms to be a sloth world. Oh, the sloths? Okay, perfect. Yeah, they're bigger.
It'll be fine. I can't lose these. They don't move around a lot. Yeah.
They're very slow. I can catch them. Oh my goodness. So sad.
Yeah, it is. And now everybody sends it to me, too. Every time one dies, I've already read it and I get 12 notifications from people. Another one died.
Yes, I know. I'm so sad. You're not going to believe this. Yeah, Cuddle.
No, it was, what was his name? Hibbit. Dumbling. Dumbling.
Dumbling. Dumbling. Making him such cute names. Habanero, Dumbling.
Dead Sloss. Dead Sloss everywhere. So sad. Alright, a Pennsylvania man is making headlines after being arrested for allegedly breaking into a Burger King.
Phil, where were you last night? He did a breaking and entering into the BK line. Not for cash, but to drink the restaurant's frying oil. What?
, then went straight to the kitchen, where he reportedly began filling cups with used fryer oil. For him to drink. Yes, he's a large man. Robust, some might say.
When you get robust, you drink fryer oil? I have no understanding. Okay, well, let's read on and find out. Yeah, ooh, yeah.
You guys are always so quick to cut the story off. Employees arriving for the morning shift found him sitting behind the counter, surrounded by empty containers and complaining of stomach pain. According to the rest report, Delaney told officers he had recently been following a high-fat survival diet. Oh, jeez.
He saw online and believed the oil would keep him full for days. He was taken to a nearby hospital before being booked on burglary and property damage charges. You're already full. So he got sick?
He got sick because he drank too much oil. You can't just drink oil. No, it's gross. It's stupid.
But he thought they would fill up his belly, and he wouldn't want to eat for days. Well, he doesn't want to eat for days, but he's sick now. It amazes me how stupid we are as a society. No, no, there's no we involved in that.
It's that guy. We're part of it. Just because he did the dumb thing yesterday doesn't mean you won't do something stupid tomorrow. Yeah.
You've done some dumb stuff. What's the dumbest thing you've done? Not even close to any of that. Okay, well, what was it?
What was it? I don't think anything I've done is dumb. You've never done anything dumb? Never done anything dumb at all?
No? So Phil's delusional, okay, you know? What about you, Palmer? Married wife number two.
Even though I got Connor out of the deal still, I mean... Married wife number two. You got a broken picker at that point. Right.
He distracted me with the giant cannons. Yeah. Oh, she's cannon, she's a pirate too, huh? Yeah, she was a pirate too.
By the way, that story's still floating around. Is it? The cannons? The cannons.
Well, they said that it was fake. No, no, they said they pulled the complaint because it was inaccurate and they're redoing it and going to resubmit. Yeah, because he, like a year ago or something, he put it through a chat GPT type bot. What's happening?
Oh, I didn't hear anything about that. I also read that there was a settlement offer made to him and he refused it, it wasn't enough. Who's this? Uh, Blue White Boy.
Oh. He does look like Woody, you're right. Yeah. That story's still floating around.
Did you do the hat? No, I forgot the hat, but I did pull, I did put the pictures up. Oh. That would've been awesome.
But the refall of the story. And now everybody's making fun of her with all these memes and stuff that she's working for these other companies and they're putting her in different outfits and uniforms and stuff, it's funny. -Oh, like a fake OnlyFans? -Well, guess what?
She's going to have a countersuit on her hand. -Well, yeah. -Defamation. -Sure.
But he doesn't have any money. -I would say, if this guy, if what he did was wrong and completely incorrect, I'd go out of my way to ruin him if I'm her. -Well, he's already ruined if it's fake and incorrect. Nobody's going to hire him.
The company he was working for would let him go. -Yeah, I want him defamed. I want him homeless on the streets. You know, like, something bad, terrible.
Well, he's got the fish head wife. Maybe she works. The fish head wife. By the way, there was no pictures of her.
I tried to find one. Yeah. I don't want nobody to see my fish head. Maybe he's not really married.
That's a racial term, actually, for Asian. Is it? Oh, is it? Yeah, so you're racist.
You're unintentionally racist. I didn't know that was the one. I've heard of some others. Well, I mean, how can you refer to her?
It's the only name we have for her. Maybe that's her name. Yeah. Maybe that is her name?
Yeah. Fish Head, whatever his name is? Well, her name is spelled with an X, but her name is Z. Oh, it's P-H?
Yeah, Z Fish Head. Gotcha. So, they tried to settle. They tried to give him money?
Yeah, I read that in the first story. They tried to give him money, and he turned it down. It wasn't enough. How much do you think it was?
It's undisclosed, I don't know. Under a million. Yeah, it had to be under a million. It was five dollars.
Five dollars. If it was close to a million, I'd have taken it. If it was close to a million, I'd have taken it, especially if I made it up. It's probably like 20, 30 G's.
I'll tell you what. Still, if I made it up, I'm getting paid. You would have to realize that you're not a psychopath at that point. You'd have to step out and say, oh, wait a second, I'm completely out of my mind here, right?
And that's not what this guy's doing. So the complaint I'm putting together where you call me a little white boy and feel my calf, I should probably just let that go. He doesn't say white. That's correct, because it did not happen.
It's gonna happen. Oh. He said, he said, he said. And there's gonna be a big countersuit.
And I'm gonna defame you. Can't prove. And you're gonna be homeless. Wait till you see all the ChatGPT footage I have.
Which one of you has the cannons? He does. Obviously. It's cannon.
Wow. " Wow. And that's what we did. My wife and I both laughed and then he left.
Then you went back fishing, huh? Right, then we went back fishing. My wife is not a fish yet. I didn't say she was.
All right, you guys know who Grady Judd is, right? Who? Grady Judd. Yes.
Yeah, this is a riot. This is a peaceful protest, that guy. Over 260 people were taken into custody after a massive operation kicked off in Central Florida, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Got him.
In a release, deputy said that the operation, dubbed Polk Go around and find out, focused primarily on human trafficking, child predators, and illegal immigration, total of 266 arrests were made during the multi-day undercover investigation, deputies added of these 247 were related to prostitution or other charges, and the remaining 19 were related to child sex predators. Okay. Where's the immigration part? I slid a couple in there.
Yeah, I was wondering why they all got grouped together. Did you do the math? Are we short numbers? And immigration!
Wait, what? Yeah, well, it's very trendy right now. We're gonna get the sexual predators! Yeah!
Yeah, don't think we forgot. We're gonna bring down prostitution! Yeah! And we're gonna get a couple immigrants!
Oh, what? Oh, hey! There are prostitutes, too. No, sir.
We're gonna get the immigrants that are prostitutes! Yeah! I think they're mostly Johns. I don't think that it was women.
Did I indicate that they were women? You said prostitutes. I assumed you meant women. We're gonna get the prostitutes.
Oh, maybe. They got the Johns, not the prostitutes. Oh. The 127 suspects who traveled to commit prostitution were screened by investigators and figured out where they were being trafficked by others.
He's just talking over me now. What? What? What?
Nothing. During investigation, seven possible human trafficking victims were identified. The release reads, "Furthermore, 108 suspects were arrested for soliciting a prostitute, and two of those suspects were caught bringing their They're children with them. Stay in the car, I'll be right back.
Stay in the car, Billy. Daddy's got to go inside. Yeah, there was no one to watch him. Daddy's got some tension.
Daddy's a little backed up. Mama's not been nice. Whoa. Victim.
Oh, here we go. Out of the 247 human trafficking arrests, 34 are in the country illegally, and 22 are collecting public assistance. How many of them are public assistance? 15.
Oh. $22. Okay. Oh, about need to over $15,000 a month they were getting.
How do you get on those fields? And a public assistance? How do you get on those programs? We can't live in Florida.
This was over in Lake County or over in Polk County. They're in Polk County. Yeah, how do you get $15,000? Collectively.
What are they, yeah, what are they considering? What are they filing for? Assistance. What's $15,000 divided by 22?
He's not allowed to touch his phone. I don't know, it's like 700-something. That's pretty close, 681-81. No, that's not a big deal.
700 a month? And you go and spend it on prostitutes? How much is a prostitute? I'm really hungry, but I'm kind of horny.
I really need to... Well, they're probably in PBJ and Spam, bro. Ooh, Spam's good. So is PBJ.
Yeah, those are great meals. These people don't seem like they cook steak. Hmm, I feel like mine's Spam now on the way home. Teddy likes bread with just a piece of cheese on it.
Yeah. Like, not even grilled. I do a cheese sandwich sometimes. Yeah.
I'm like, you're such a gangster. It's so crazy. Quick little snack? You're a six-year-old little girl.
Like, I don't, I guess, yeah, okay, all right, whatever you want. Yeah, guess what, Daddy, you made it for me. My nephew used to eat ketchup sandwiches. Ketchup sandwiches?
Just ketchup on bread. That's a little... that's weird. Well, he grew up poor, apparently.
Poor? Ketchup's expensive, man. Not when you get the little packets for free. Oh, you're...
Ooh, that's some side hustle right there. Wow, bro. Now we're talking. Tell you what, we're gonna go, we're gonna go to the mall, hit all the food stations, and get some ketchup.
I want you to get the packets. Get the packets. And you, his brother, get the mustard. We're gonna have big time tonight.
Yep, we're going all out. Big time calories. And honey, as she talks to her husband, you get the relish, you need a vegetable. Steal the whole thing.
Alright, the luxury cruise ship has been identified. Oh, okay. With the dead people. It is the MV Honduis.
Okay. H-O-N-D-I-U-S. And now, they're not letting it dock anywhere. Oh, they're all dead.
Oh my God. Well, it's got the deadly virus, you get it, you're dead. But there's still people on there? Yes, there are people on there.
I guess there are people on there. We gotta treat them. What are we doing? Sacrifice.
Now I'm never getting on a cruise. They can't dock in the West African island nation of Cape Verde. Officials said Monday roughly 150 people are currently trapped on the Dutch cruise line off the African coast after three passengers died and others became seriously sick with symptoms. Oh, it's a Dutch?
A ship which was on a week-long polar cruise from Argentina to Antarctica had requested help from local health authorities on Sunday following the latest death. I told you, honey, we shouldn't have seen the polar bears, now it's your fault. This is so messed up. Well, during COVID, they wouldn't let boats dock when people had COVID on the boats.
All so messed up. That's a little more messed up, I think, the COVID was. I mean, people were dying from it back then, but this is something you can't treat. So you're okay with this?
You're okay with leaving these? I'm not okay with it, but I understand why. I mean, if you own a country, would you want to let this virus in and wipe out your country? It's highly, I can't think of the word.
Contagious. Thank you. I could only get contaminated in my head. I couldn't get any further.
First of all, you don't own a country. No, I said if I did, would you want them to come into your country and infect everyone? The president owns the country? No, but you can own an island.
It's an island they can't dock at. Okay, like if I have the capabilities of trying to help these people, then yeah. Okay, if you're a small island nation off the coast of Africa, I don't think you have hazmat. -I don't think I'm trying to dock there.
-That's where they're trying to dock. -Well, then that's stupid, too. -That was their next port of call. -You gotta get to something like civilization.
-Well, yeah. Probably not Africa. I don't know about the healthcare there. You know, a little sketchy.
-Think so? -People are dying from the-- -Think so? -from the fly that bites you. Itsy fly, or titsy fly, whatever it's called.
-Yeah. -Titsy fly? -I don't know. It's some kind of a weird fly.
-Itsy titsy? Itsy bitsy spider? -But we already discussed how much AIDS are there. -We haven't previously.
There's a lot of AIDS there. So many AIDS. So many AIDS, and now this weird respiratory infection that has no cure. Probably how they got the AIDS as well.
What about you? Would you let them dock, Phil? I already know the answer. Never mind.
First of all, I'm blowing up the ship. Right. He's sending the submarine out. Sink it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just come a little closer. Come a little closer. All right.
Little bit to the left. A little bit. And fire. I mean, what?
Away from the coral. Yeah. Away from the reef there. 's stuff.
's or a reef. J. is going to let him duck at his house? He didn't let him duck at his house.
Hell no. Hell no. J. 's duck.
J. ain't no virus. I buy both for five dollars, you duck. Oh, he's Russian.
Oh, sorry. Maybe now because he's across the seas. Right, he's bought the small island nation off the coast of California. What's he calling it now?
Hold on, there's a name for it. I can find it. Cape Verde, it's now called Cape Only AJ. 'Cause it's a cape, which means it's, you know, half round.
Losing compassion in a society is a bad thing. It's a very bad thing. They shouldn't have gotten sick. Yeah, that's a terrible outlook.
I don't know what to tell you. I didn't get into it. How did this virus... Oh, I'm sorry.
Oh, jeez. I'm sorry, are we bothering you? Are they bothering you? Yeah.
I saw like some animal. It's your wife. Your wife is calling because you're not answering your phone. Oh yeah, it's that time.
There was like some animal they got this from. Rats. Rat poop. Infected rats, poop, and peepee.
On the ship? You think there's rats on every cruise ship? Yeah. Of some sort?
No matter how clean the cruise ship is? Absolutely. Yeah. I figure there's much too.
There's food. Yeah. They're very, they're very inventive, the little rats. They're creative.
Well, there's a lot of rats on, on piers. Yes. Yeah. Hmm.
So there's really no way to keep them from getting on the, I mean, a freighter or something, obviously, sure. But a cruise ship, as clean as they try to keep it and everything, you don't think, you think there's rats down below somewhere? Yeah. Well, wouldn't you, I mean, I've been on several cruises, and you think you would see one run across the deck at some point?
Hmm. Maybe. Why would they go all the way up there? Because the buffet's up there.
The food starts next. I mean, in New Orleans, we saw a mouse in the restaurant. Yeah. That's New Orleans, bro.
Yeah, those are different type of rats. Yeah, I know. There's rats everywhere there in New Orleans. Yeah.
They bring them with them. Right. Okay. I mean, this looks like a nice cruise ship from the photos, you know, from way far away.
Sure was. All I'm saying is, man, we gotta help these people. And it's a medium, small to medium-sized cruise ship. We gotta figure this out.
So wait, three people have died, so the dead bodies are still on the ship? Yes. Three people have died, there's 150 on there, so it's not that big a boat in 150 people. So there's gonna be 147 casualties.
There were 153, but now there's 150. Right. Is that including staff? No, not including, um, no, it says guests.
Roughly 150 people are currently, could be, including staff. Normally those Arctic cruises are smaller ships. We need to get them somewhere. Well, if you would like to go get them.
They're somewhere. I don't have the capacity to handle the situation, but somebody does. he has a helicopter he's in Rome he's closer than us he's back he did somebody's podcast the other day again okay wonder if they went back where the boat came from you should call him and see if he'd say Norway's where the Dutch live right Norway? that'd be Norwegians Holland, Dutch people are from Holland are they?
Yes, so maybe the tulips are the cure. They have a lot of tulips in Holland. Okay. And windmills.
Hmm. Maybe they could blow the virus back up to sea. You're losing me. Yeah.
28 days. This is just like the movie. All right, moving on. Maybe this is how 28 days starts.
Let's go. I recall over a possible salmonella contamination was expanded to include two frozen pizzas sold at one of the nation's most popular grocery chains. Ooh. Start at the Started at Aldi's.
Now it's going to Walmart. Pizza outbreak. Salmonella. S.
Department of Agriculture's Food Safety Inspection Service expanded its recall to six different products on Friday, including two frozen pizzas sold at Walmart. According to the agency, the recall concerns a potential salmonella outbreak in meat and poultry products prepared with a previously recalled dry milk powder. Two pizzas. It's an upgrade.
Two pizzas manufactured for great value. Walmart's in-house label were affected the thin crust chicken bacon ranch and the stuffed crust chicken bacon ranch. I've had the chicken bacon ranch from all these several times. And look at you, you're still thriving.
Well, it has salmonella now, not what I have. Okay. Yeah, you don't have AIDS or that weird thing from the cruise ship. What?
If we only had things. We're gonna have headphones. We're gonna have headphones the day after tomorrow. Yes.
We can hear these little quips you make. Well, listen, we have a plan to have headphones. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We don't know if it's going to work.
We know how tech works, right? Right. And the reality is that even if we buy this stuff, sometimes it doesn't work. Right.
That's true. So I always open them very carefully and save the packaging. So we can return it. Right.
To be determined. So previously they were called two Mama Cozy's pizzas sold at Aldi, so that's where they came from, Including the Biscuit and Crust Sausage and the Cheese Breakfast Pizza and Biscuit Crust Cooked Pork Belly Crumbles, Cooked Bacon Topping, Pepper and Onion Breakfast Pizza. So don't eat the breakfast pizza at Aldi's. So then Aldi said, "You know what?
This is kind of infected with salmonella. " Well, it's a different pizza at Walmart. Oh, it's a totally different one. It's bacon and meat, so it's pork products seem to be the problem with salmonella.
No, they still sell the pizza. They just reduce the price. That's what they do at Walmart. This one's got salmonella.
They put the big savings thing up there with the smiley face. The rollback. Damn it. Rollback, half price, buy quick.
50% off now. Cook it super hot, well done. Yeah. All right, Michael, you got a video?
No. He already told us that. Wow, I had a video for Preston. I did.
You both did. We had two videos. Wow. Not one for us.
No video today for you. You see that, Phil? That's how we rate. Yeah, I understand.
Wow. We were rushed down here, and then no video. Yeah, no video. Okay, well, here's what happened.
Okay. Let's hear it. I ran out the door. Yeah.
Here. I left here. Right. I went right into a basketball practice.
Okay. When that ended, I went right into a football practice. Okay. And then I got home, I ate dinner, and I passed out on the patio.
When did you have time to get Preston's video? From the weekend, because it's only one show a week. Oh, oh. So you chose to do his instead of ours?
No, I had a video for us, as well. Oh, well, we had one yesterday, too. We could have had two, but you got on my head. Well, your video was done.
No, it was actually pretty good, you just didn't know what was in it. Just because you thought it was done doesn't mean these lovely people wouldn't have enjoyed it. Yeah. I may add a video to the show.
Perfect. Let's just act like we're looking at our phones. No, you're not. Don't you dare add a video to the show.
We'll see. Is it the one in the bathroom or is it the other? No, no, we're saving that for Saturday. Oh.
We need big numbers on Saturday. We're only like 15 last week. I think we just posted everywhere. You're not doing it.
Posted everywhere. You have no idea what I'm talking about. I also have the ability to see it and then take it down. Nah.
But you would have to have time to watch the show. You just said you had no time. You have no time. How are you going to watch the show?
It's an hour long. You can't even get the video. Next time you could be coming up with videos for us. Yeah, instead I gotta follow you, and you're fuckery.
Okay. Alright, moving on to Cigar News. There's actually Cigar News. Really?
Yes. Well, there's some. Villiger announces Christoph Schuppenbach as the new CEO. Oh.
Villiger Son AG has announced Christoph Schuppenbach will become the group's new CEO. On June 1st, Schuppenbach will take over management responsibilities from Clemens Guttermann, who has served as managing director and will retire in 2027. These changes come nearly a year after the death of Heinrich Villiger, who worked for the family company for nearly 75 years. Schuppenbeck does not appear to have any experience in the tobacco sector.
Not a bitch! Is he in the liquor industry? No, no. For the last five and a half years, he has served as the CEO of Regent Lighting.
Lighting? Lighting. Lighting? A Swiss lighting company.
Swiss? Swiss, yes. With a last name like that? Schopenbach.
Well, Villiger is, yeah. So, previously, he spent more than a decade at Schulengender Group. I'm not sure what that is. Schulengender?
That's his last name, right? No, no, it's Schopenbach. Oh. We are delighted to have appointed Christoph Schopenbach, a renowned international executive as CEO, said Javo Grundler.
I wish you could have seen the yawn that I just witnessed from Phil. Chairman of the board in a press release, with his broad experience across different industries and phases of corporate development, and no tobacco experience of any kind, we will lead the Villager Group into the future with fresh perspectives. On behalf of the Villager family and the board of directors, I thank Clemens Gurterman for his commitment and proven leadership over recent years, especially during the transition, blah, blah, blah. The company's strategy is geared towards the long-term and will continue to be pursued consistency.
Under the new CEOs, we combine tradition with innovation and lighting with quality, with customer focus, and continuity with drive and brighter offices. So he's going to sell them lights and then leave? No, he's going to remodel all the lights in the offices. That's his first thing.
These lights are terrible and he can remodel the lights. You know what would be good in this office? More lighting. Up lights.
Because then you could see the cigars better, right? It is cigars, right? Correct? This isn't the hot chocolate place, is it?
Well, where do you want to see a guy come from into the cigar? Oh, something in tobacco might be nice, or maybe something related. I don't even settle for liquor at this point. So, liquor is the only place that you feel like you can get a person out of?
Oh, tobacco. Yeah, but like, they all gotta come from somewhere. Are there enough people in the tobacco industry they could have found somebody? Maybe not.
Maybe they didn't see one they liked. So they thought lighting would be a good choice. He might not even smoke cigars. That was gonna be my next question.
He probably doesn't. Do you think he's a cigar guy? No, my buddy's not. The lighting industry is a rich industry, so maybe.
It depends on what kind of light you're talking about. Okay, well... Yes, there are luxury lights, but... All right, hold on, let me see, let me entertain this for a second.
Okay. So, he comes from an affluent place. Swiss Miss? Well, possibly.
Possibly, okay. And you run a successful business, possibly. Possibly, yeah, we don't know if it's successful. But let's just, for the argument's sake, say that these two things- It's not successful, he's working for them.
He was only there four years. Sorry. So before that, he worked for some group of something. Okay, so let's say he's got all those things, and then let's say he's a cigar smoker, okay?
Not a vapor, okay, got it. Not a vapor. You think he's smoking villager? No.
Not if he's a cigar guy. Maybe he likes villager. Maybe he does, because they make them over there. Maybe he's a villager guy.
Maybe he trades light bulbs for cigars. Have you ever met a villager guy? Well, don't, do we still carry him upstairs? We did.
No, I got to tell you, dude, back in the day, we used to move billiger. Really? Yeah. I've never even heard of this cigar.
We also used to move fake pee. We did. To be fair. Oh, so much margin in the sympathy.
So much margin in the pee, right? I know, exactly. Oh, my God. It was so hard to give it up.
You know? That was the best. Right. I need the fake pee.
You mean the novelty urine? Yes, we have. Keanu, come here. We need more.
Where do they get all that fake? I mean, we went through a lot. Where do they get all that? It's probably from animals, bro.
Is there a bunch of guys hooked up like in a milking machine type of situation? It was the funniest thing. Like as we were getting going and establishing, we would always see, would you see that rent across? If you had like a day where you sold six or seven of those, you're like...
Yeah, well, I mean, that's a money-making business anyways. Yeah. Which one? You're just an accessory, you know?
Yeah, but no, we used to move a ton of billiger. Yeah. But like, I don't know. Where's it made?
Where's billiger made? Uh, apparently somewhere in Swiss. It's Dominican. Dominican Republic?
Uh, but like, I don't know, if I'm, I guess if I'm getting a CEO, I would want him invested in the product, right? At least know about the product. I don't even, I think that I need him, like, in. And we're making assumptions.
Maybe this guy loves villager and he's got all the boxes and who knows. They don't really come in big boxes. Oh yeah, they have some bigger cigars. I was thinking the little small five packs come in a little cardboard thing.
Schubenbacher? Schubenbacher's the guy's name. Okay. There's a lot of funny symbols over the letters, so it'd be hard to spell.
You think when they're in school they have to do all that? Yes, yes. Really? That's their language.
It's probably not Schubenbacher, it's probably a better way to say it. And they say English is the hardest language. It's our slang that normally people can't get. And like we have words where the letters, you know, like climb, C-L-I-M-B, but it's not climb-ba.
Okay, all right, Loa... I have no idea what kind of cigar this is. A cigar company is announcing the Infidel Limited Edition box. I want to hear it.
What's the name of it? L-O-A-I-S-I-G-A. I want to hear you try and say it. Loa Cigga.
Loa Cigga. Loa Cigga. Loa Cigga. Right.
Loa Cigga Cigars. Okay. Leo... Loa Cigga Cigars is about to begin shipping a pair of Limited Edition sizes for its...
I thought it was Infidel. It's not Infidel. Inf... I-N-F-I-E-L?
Infiel wine? Okay. Yeah, that's definitely Infidel. One for the Infil Sun Grown Blend, and then the other for the Maduro, both 6x54 box-pressed Toros.
While the company isn't disclosing the full blend details of the cigars, it did say the Sun Grown Blend uses an Ecuador and Habano wrapper, while the Maduro wrapper comes from Mexico. There's a lot of touch of, oh, there is also a touch of broadleaf in each blend, but we're not going to tell you anything else. No, it's just a touch, like they touch the broadleaf and then made the cigar. Yeah, they just touch the broadleaf cigar.
It's Dominican? I don't know. Mexican? See, they also grow tobacco in the Jalapa, Condega, and Esteli regions of Nicaragua, which ends up in these cigars.
They're practically telling us what's in it. So it's from Nica, yeah. We're not going to disclose, but... Right, but they grow this, so maybe some of this.
And there's maybe a touch of broadleaf in it, but I'm not really going to tell you what it is. From the beginning, our focus has been on control over our tobacco and processes, and ultimately the experience we deliver, said Silvio Lola Siga, co-owner of Lola Siga Cigars. Ah, makes sense. Yes.
We're looking for a price. Looking for a price. 50. Oh!
The Toro is priced at, gentlemen. This is the limited edition box press Toro. Super limited with a company I've never heard of before. They're very pretty pictures, I mean, but that doesn't make the cigar taste good.
Phil? 50. What? 50?
I'd say $25. $17, you went the wrong way. I am! I used the Home Alone price.
By the way, by the way, I love that you guys are saying he's cheating. It's not you guys, it's just me. You're saying that he's cheating? It's more fun to be contradictory.
Yeah, I mean, I'm flattered at the fact That you think that I'm cheating. Somebody says you can see the screen. Well, actually, it was somebody else that said that you were doing stuff first. And then Palmer said he's cheating.
Yeah. I didn't think I won that much. And I disagreed. The last time you won, you hit them both right on the head.
I nailed them both. I did. Which, you know, causes a little... I love that.
Like, imagine being so good that they think you're cheating. That's awesome. You might be able to see the screen. Come stand over here.
No, I don't want to get it, I'm not sitting on your lap. But you don't, but you haven't won a lot lately. Uh, that's not true. That is true.
How many fireworks did you get? Monday show, he got both. I nailed both. One day.
Well, it's only the third day of the week. I don't think you've ever nailed both. It doesn't matter if I nail both, winning's winning. That's what the guy says who doesn't nail them on the head.
Yeah. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. All right, Dom. anyways.
Alright, it's time for the industry's favorite game. What about somebody who entered the portal, I thought you said? Yeah, the first guy. Schulbenbecker.
He entered the portal? Oh, that was the portal? He got a new job. He wasn't in the cigar industry before.
Oh, it's usually somebody gets fired. Oh, I thought somebody gets a job or loses a job. It was either or. Where's my remote?
For what? You're not gonna win. It's in the cabinet? Yeah, I forgot the remote.
Wow. Look, you're lucky they got set up because Preston's feet were in the way. We're in the way I couldn't do it before the show. I forgot the video, rushing us.
I can see you texting me when you're doing it. You should go back and watch the shows from this week and see how many times you won. They're on. It's time for industry's favorite game.
Time for industry's favorite game. What's the score? Today's first cigar is January 26th, 2025, Brooks Whittington Cigars, it's a Honduras Limited Edition, it's the Villiger, Villiger, TAA Exclusive, 2025. Oh, the Villiger, Villiger.
The Villiger, Villiger, TAA Exclusive. 84. TAA Exclusive? 84.
Yes, Villiger's on the TAA, apparently. 84, 84, 84, 44. Way hard, Joe. 81.
Cigar Reviewed, Villager TAA Exclusive, Country of Origin is Honduras, Factories, Fabrica de Puros, Maya Selva Cigars, Wrappers Honduran, Binders Honduran, Fillers Honduran, 6x52 Honduran, Round Honduran, They smoked 3 from Honduras, 84, 81, Clue number 1, Great flavor complexity throughout the country. How about notes of creamy cedar, citrus, nuts, bread, and cocoa keep things interesting from start to finish, especially as the profile evolves between thirds? 86. 83.
Clue number two. You're moving with me? Is that what you're doing? Overall, construction is solid.
Draws are consistently good. Smoke production is plentiful. And any burn issues are minor and easily corrected. Oh, are you looking it up?
Yeah, he's a cheater. He's cheating, he's looking it up. Cheating, cheating. Wow.
I saw you hit the screen so you could change it. Is that a hot dog? 87. Is that a glizzy?
I'm actually looking up a Cookie Monster mask. 83. Oh, yes. Let's see.
Glue at number three. Oh, there's headbands. The cigar can turn bitter quickly if pushed too hard, and multiple, how do you push, are you smoking too fast? What do you think of this?
You know, we're having a show over here. Eh, doesn't really cover enough. No? No.
I was trying. It's not bad, though. I have to be able to breathe and smoke. It was like glasses.
That's what I was thinking. Oh, perfect. The cigar can turn bitter quickly if, is there like a series of glasses? Do you have glasses once you hit the one?
Do you show others? You want me to check? I'll check. Yeah, go back and check.
Maybe we get a theme here for a while. Sesame Street? Sesame Street. Oh, there's an Abby and an Elmo.
Who's Abby? Abby's the girl. This is Abby. Can you see that?
Oh, yeah. Is that a new Sesame Street character? He's gonna look so small on his head, it's gonna be awesome. Are they kids' glasses?
Oh, of course they're kids. Well, they have to fit. Uh, Cookie Monster, Elmore Abbey, one size fits most kids. They have to be able to fit.
Can't be, yeah. Okay. Alright, can we move on with the game? The game's not over.
Yeah. You can do that on your time. Final thought, let's go. I'm trying to clean up around you.
Oh, dude. Final thought. No, I'm still doing the third clue. Hold on, hold on, wait a second, wait a second.
There's a whole Mario set. We can buy a whole set for 20 bucks and we can have something. He could have something, a different one, every month, and he could do, we could make him do Mario. Is there eight of them?
There's 12. Oh. 12 different Mario characters? Yeah.
All children-sized glasses? Oh, they're not glasses. It's like a mask, but it's the top cover. Oh.
Okay. Done? Sure. The cigar can turn bitter quickly, if pushed, and you have to do the voices of the character.
It's-a me, Mario. It's-a me, Mario. It's-a me, Carlito Fuente. It's-a me, Carlito.
Palmer, finish your game. The cigar can turn bitter quickly if pushed too hard. It must be snack time for him. Yeah, he's getting hungry.
And multiple sticks require touch-ups showing some inconsistency in performance. Apparently, the oil is not holding him over. The oil is not working. Hello?
You? Eighty-five. Eighty-three. Final thought.
With its clean and creamy profile, the features enjoyable, albeit mostly unremarkable, flavors of cedar, nuts, and breadiness. The Villager TAA Exclusive 2024 does a very good job of playing to its strength throughout the close to two hours smoking time. Having said that, there is just not enough sweetness in the blend, either on the palate or the retrohale, to really make the cigar really stand out in a significant way at this point in its life. And there were some minor burn issues on each of the cigars that I smoked.
While this is not the best Villager TAA-exclusive release by a long shot, I think giving the cigar a bit of resting time for flavors to become more cohesive, not to mention help the sweetness stand out more, could really do wonders for the blend. 84. Okay, it's a podcast, dude. Well, it's okay, we have 12 minutes to go.
Yeah, trying to fill time here. It's okay, we have a whole other cigar to do. This is Phil's Corner, how are you guys doing today, bro? Trying to get the camera time.
Man, I've never even heard of this cigar. And you just went from 87 to 84 with good things. He's just jumping around, he's not even paying attention. Yeah, he just talks.
He's taunting me. I looked it up. He's not playing the game. He's playing against you.
There's a difference. Yeah, I mean, I'm going to nail it. Oh, you think you're going to nail it? Yeah, I looked it up on Havreau.
83. What did you say? 84. You went the wrong way.
Oh! 86. Boo. Are people sending you the video of the wedding catching on fire from using those?
No. They are me. That's awesome. What was the score?
86. Oh, I was up there, too. But you weren't. You didn't even get close to that number.
Whatever. Nice. All right. Second cigar, June 10th, 2025.
Brooks Whittington Cigars is a Nicaraguan cigar. The Viso Horny 555. Put that mask on before you get to your camera. The triple nickel.
I mean, I like this cigar. I'm gonna go 93. Okay, it doesn't matter if you liked it. Doesn't matter if you liked it, you didn't review it.
88. Country of Origin, Nicaragua, Factory, Fabrica de Tobaccos, Nicasuenya, I say, Rapper, USA, Broadleaf, Binder, Cameroon, Filler, Honduras, and Nicaraguan, linked 5x55, and they smoked 3 cigars. Lucky guys. 93.
88. Sorry. Clue number one. Rich, full-bodied flavor profile with standout notes like creamy oak.
What's creamy oak? It's oak, but it's creamy. Coffee, dark chocolate, and evolving sweetness keeps the cigar engaging from start to finish. 93.
90. 93. Clue number two. Excellent construction overall.
Draws are consistently spot on. Smoke production is thick and satisfying, and the cigar maintains strong performance through all thirds. 93. 90.
Sorry. Clue number three. Burn consistency is an issue, with multiple cigars requiring corrections, especially in the second third, showing some inconsistency. - 89.
- 88. - Final thought, while I admit to being a sucker for a release with an interesting name or backstory, a good cigar needs more than an interesting name or backstory. And the Visa Horny 555 delivers in that regard as well. First, the profile is full of enjoyable flavors, including the Creamy Oak, Peanut Butter, and And dark chocolate.
Ooh, who put your chocolate in my peanut butter? Each third features a nice transition. Second, the medium plus strength does a great job of adding to the enjoyment of the cigar rather than detracting from it. Having said all of that, there were some minor issues including a massive amount of black pepper that affected the overall balance during the first third of the first cigar and multiple minor burn issues that had to be corrected to avoid larger issues.
After smoking three of these cigars, I can tell you it's an impressive sophomore release from a new brand, and I'm eager to see what the company releases next. Ninety, oh, it's your go. Ninety-two. Eighty-nine.
Eighty-nine. Oh! Nailed it! He's looking at the screen.
No, I'm not. He might have already known this one from before. I did not know this one. Whatever.
Where did I start at? I started at 88. What difference does that make when you started? Yeah, naturally.
No, but what I did do is I fucking sandbagged him. I said, oh, you go. That's... You didn't do that on purpose.
Okay. You're not that clever. Thanks. I like the fact that you guys think that I cheat, that's awesome.
Whatever. That's incredible. Cheater, cheater, cookie eater. Yeah.
Cheater, cheater, cookie eater. Cheater, cheater, cookie eater. If you eat the cookies, you will cheat the game. And just for that, you're starting with the princess mask as soon as it arrives.
Princess Daphne? You got Princess, Peach, and you got Daisy in this set. This is character harassment. You got Toad, male and female Toad.
You got Wario and Waluigi. Oh, Wario. He'll be good as Wario. Yeah.
Bowser. I don't think you get to wear Bowser. Bowser? Yeah, he can do Bowser.
No, Bowser's too cool. Mario, Yoshi, and Luigi. Oh, and you got a Goomba. And the flower.
You get the flower. See? You should be nice to me. Alright, anybody got anything else?
If you were nice to me, I wouldn't give you Princess Peach to start. If I'm not here, does Greg get to wear the mask? No. It's only for you, Phil.
Only for Philip. Only for you, Phil. That was it. Like and subscribe wherever you're viewing or listening to the show.
