ACHP Episode 538 Boarding Party For One

ACHP Episode 538 Boarding Party For One

Episode Summary

Mike Palmer, Mikey and engineer Phil McGuffey open Episode 538 with listener comments (including a viewer shocked that Mikey isn't a ginger and ongoing grief over Palmer's pronunciation of "Nicaragua"), pre-orders for the BDP 4th of July t-shirt, and a round of gifts from Rooks Coating — including brand-new Cigar Hustlers Podcast laser-engraved travel mugs that the shop plans to sell in a small run.

The news block is mostly non-cigar: a Secret Service shooting at a White House checkpoint leads into a tangent on historical assassination attempts on U.S. presidents, a story about parents in Spain who left their 10-year-old son in an airport terminal after discovering his passport had expired, and the Krispy Kreme employee data-breach class action settlement. The crew also digs into France officially moving to ban nicotine pouches like Zyn, with penalties reportedly up to five years in prison and massive fines — prompting Palmer's argument that he personally dislikes pouches but opposes over-regulation of any tobacco or nicotine product on principle.

Cigar news centers on two items. First, the European Union has opened a public comment period (May 18–June 15) on the next revision of the Tobacco Products Directive and its planned generational tobacco ban, with the European Cigar Manufacturers Association publishing guidance on how cigar smokers can submit comments arguing that premium cigars are different from mass-market tobacco. Second, Tobacconist of Greenwich's June 10 "Titans of Tobacco" dinner, which is landing simultaneous shop exclusives: a 6x54 toro of Foundation's 10 Year Anniversario (A.J. Fernandez-made, Connecticut Broadleaf/Habano hybrid wrapper, Brazilian Mata Fina binder, Nicaraguan filler) at $429 for ten, a 6x54 La Flor Dominicana 30 Year Anniversary at $475 for ten, and a Padrón Black 6x54 maduro at $750 for ten, with additional releases expected from Arturo Fuente and Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera. Guests slated to attend include Carlito Fuente, Nicholas Melillo, Litto Gomez, George Padrón, Eladio Díaz and Hendrik "Henke" Kelner and Klaas Kelner, with an auction benefiting Cigar Rights of America. The crew also covers reports that senior FDA officials were blindsided by a new six-page guidance that may allow unauthorized vapes and nicotine pouches to market before full review.

The show closes with "What's the Score?", guessing Halfwheel ratings on the Crowned Heads Blood Medicine B-Positive LE 2026 (which suffered severe wrapper cracking and unraveling) and the Caldwell Long Live the Queen Forbidden Fruit Oscuro 6x60, plus a plug for the shop's upcoming Cordoba & Morales Rabito event.

Transcript

Welcome to A Cigar Hustler Podcast Episode 538. I'm Mike Palmer, your host. I'd like to start the show with a moment of silence for those that hate us but can't unsubscribe because they have to see if we've mentioned it. We mentioned them on the show.

Oh! So, moment of silence? What? What is this?

A moment of silence for those that hate us, but they have to keep watching to see if we mention them on the show. They don't hate us. It means be quiet. Oh no, they hate us.

Now in Engineering Today, we have Phil, I Can't Talk, I'm on a self-pleasure break, McGuffey. This thing's really, like, in the streets, huh? Like... It's very popular.

Yeah. That is my co-host, Mikey. I have an idea for a new segment called "Let's Watch Palmer Do More Work". I already possibly have a person for the next one.

I can't talk about that on the air. Okay. But first on today's show. Okay.

Secret Service, Secret Service, Secret Service gets it done. In Europe, kids are optional on flights, Krispy Kreme is hot and pay me now. And then in France, No No, Oui Oui, Zen in Cigars, Now Oui Oui, No No, Zen. And then in Cigars, now is the time to speak out against Generational Tobacco Ban in EU.

A shop is getting six or seven exclusive cigars at the same time. Ooh. And now the FDA has messed up big time, and finally, double what's the score today? Yay.

But first, Mikey, how do we get some of that CH Pod swag? Like and subscribe wherever you're viewing and listening to this show. com for all your chpod swag. Right now we're accepting pre-orders on the 4th of July, BDP exclusive t-shirts.

Get it. Get it. How many have we pre-ordered? We have eight so far sold.

If we get to 15, I will wear the overalls, the flag overalls on an episode of the show. Yeah? Yes. 15.

With no shirt. Yeah, just like it is on the shirt. You're going to be the guy on the shirt. I will be the guy on the shirt.

You'll be the full-fledged BDP. Full-fledged BDP, just like the shirt. Bring it to 15. All right, so you're seven away.

Seven more. com, us, Cigar Hustlers Podcast, where if you pay for the entire year in advance, you get 10% off. Did we take care of our Apex listener? Did we ship everything out?

Everything was shipped, yes. Okay, perfect. And some comments. Some comments.

Mmm. Some comments. Got some interesting comments. Doozies.

I just feel compelled to talk about Joseph Steele, 2982, even though it's from a few episodes ago. He said, "Oh boo hoo, sounds like just a bunch of crybabies around the 38 minute mark about the other guys, not you three. Also, wow, you guys look way different than I expected. " Wait, so somebody watched it and then we're not what they expected us to look like?

No, it gets, it gets, it gets way better for me. Oh. For you? But you're getting ahead of yourself, yeah.

I would just want to make sure I understood. Unless you're, I think this, maybe you're involved here, it's possible. Just, uh, just got on YouTube to make this comment, because they don't get seen if I comment on Podbean. So you can comment on Podbean?

I don't know, we don't use Podbean anymore. We used to use it as a distributor. Right. Now, if they somehow still carry the show from Spotify?

Yeah. No, we have no way to see it. You've never commented on them. Okay.

Uh, and wow, totally shocked, laugh out loud, especially by Mikey, so far from what imagined. I thought for sure he was a ginger, and your voice does not match you whatsoever. I almost wish I didn't find out. Laugh my fucking ass off.

I hope he says Palmer was Asian. Is this your mother? No. Last thought though, I will say, after seeing Mikey, the douchiness we've all come to know and expect makes a ton more sense.

Whoa. Nice. I like this guy, whoever he is. St.

Ives douche. So, yeah. Yeah, it's weird. He will be ginger on the artwork for this thumbnail for the show.

Oh, perfect. So, thank you. I have no words. I have no words.

That's it? That's where it stops? Yeah. Oh, okay.

But now the douchiness makes sense. No, no, no. I was waiting like Phil said. Maybe he thought I was Asian and No, no, no, he just hammered me home.

Yeah, he just came to you. I wonder how long he's listened for, and now he's just seen a video. Right. I mean, we're on the thumbnails, so.

After all this time. Yeah, but the thumbnails are only on YouTube. Yeah. No, no, I put them up on Spotify, too.

You think they would carry over to wherever they go? I don't think that's how the data feed goes. It only takes the idea. They don't get the artwork?

Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Some other comments?

cdub our guy cdub 6383 i love this version of mikey preach brother thank you i needed the positive after that was about your friends yes that's what he's talking about because he then he sent the artwork yeah oh oh today's uh fan artwork uh he said i feel like i've seen this one once already yeah the shorts came out a little bit ahead of the episode because of how things The things have unfolded with Monday. Oh, that's on a short. But it does say pronunciation is really important, Palmer. Nicaragua.

No, they said I'm adding a G in there that's not there. Yes. Yeah, yeah. 'Cause that's the way you make me say it.

No, that's not the way I make you say it. Okay. I try my best to correct you. Wait, wait, where do you add the G?

After the N-I? Yeah, that's where he slides it in. Nicaragua. That's where he slides it in.

So he slides it in. Oh, yeah. He might be older. It's because it turns into a different word when you add that.

Oh, it does. Yeah, it does. So stop. T-Money on the Coop Memorial Day episode says, "My oh my, how the times have changed.

" Oh, on that show? I've been beaten down. That's really early. You've been beaten down.

I've been beaten down and overworked. Well, God, how many years ago was that? Five or six years ago. At least, if not more.

Yeah, so you were in your 60s. Right. I was in my 60s. Sorry.

And you were so thin, you weren't even on the show yet. Oh. And I get called the douchiness? I don't understand.

Yeah, that's when Mikey used to be a ginger. Yeah, that was when Mikey was a ginger. That show looked so bad. I enjoyed listening to it.

Listening, yes. Watching, no. But I do appreciate all the editing you had to do for the one-camera shoot to cut it into pieces. That had to be a lot of work.

The Coop's mic was just right in his face. Oh, right in his face the entire time. We couldn't figure that one out. Well, I mean, the camera didn't move, so it was either see both of us, or see him.

Yeah, it's hard to, you know, it's tough. It's tough in these streets. You gotta make choices. It was our show, so.

" Triple G's Office. Yes. Yes. I mean, dude, it was, look, like, I enjoy Coop.

I like Coop. Yeah, it was a good episode. It was fun. You know?

Who is he that shall not be named? Oh, dude, it's obvious. Yeah. It's so obvious that you're glazing over it.

Yeah. Did you watch the episode? No, I didn't watch it. I lived it.

Yeah. I lived it. I watched the shorts like everybody else. Oh, here's another one.

Here's another one, Bryce Field, 2489, Palmer's still hitting that non-existent G in Nicaragua like it owes him money. So if we could stop that, that would be great. And then I had the Obuhu, I think that's... - Nothing from your mom?

- No. - I like when your mom comments. Especially if your mom starts embracing that, that's her. - Yeah.

- That would even be better. It's not the sun I like. If you want to hear your comment read aloud on the show, just comment below on this episode and we may read aloud. We may not.

We may. I mean, you know, like, there's only, if you want to call me his douchiness, then it's possible that. His, respectfully, his red-haired douchiness. No T-Money, I didn't hear a T-Money comment.

Yes, you did. Oh. Yeah, you did. Okay.

It's, it's getting worse. Sorry. He doesn't even remember what happened 30 seconds ago. No.

Uh oh. Just a matter of time. I was just so worried about Ruckus, you know, Unchained. You wanted to hear Ruckus Unchained?

I went there for your mind. Ruckus Unchained will probably chime in later. So, okay, we ready? On with the show?

No, we got a couple of gifts from Ruckus Coding. We do. For one, I messed up, apparently I messed up the T-Money gift. Yeah, it wasn't meant for us.

It said for the kids. I figured that you were the kids. No, the kids are the kids at your football. Yes.

You mentioned you were out of dum-dums for the kids at football, so he sent you dum-dums for the kids. He sent me dum-dums. Oh, so when you finally opened it up, you realized what it was for? No, no, no.

I reached out to T-Money to see what it was, and I was going to buy it and act like he had sent it again, but he gave it to me to give us. " No, I read the note, but I specifically remember having a conversation with you guys, and you're like, "We want dum-dums. " And you were having a back and forth so then I thought that T-Money said give the kids what they want. Oh, yeah.

Makes sense? Well, I can see how you have taken it that way. Yeah, so that's why I took it that way. Now.

I don't remember saying that. He just brought a bag in and gave Preston's daughter one, so he's got dum-dums. Well, actually, you know what's funny is we cut open that bag. Oh, did you?

Yeah, it was slightly used when I was giving it to you. Gotcha. Hurtful. Very hurtful.

It's for the kids. Yeah, apparently, if he does send something, he's going to give it to other people first. I will always put the kids first. I thought we were the kids.

The younger kids first. Thank you. Well, it was Preston's daughter, so, you know. Oh.

Dude, are you kidding me? I'm a pushover for all these kids. Please, move on with your gift. Cigar Hustlers Podcast Travel Mugs.

We now have Cigar Hustlers Podcast Travel Mugs. And they will be on the website soon. Oh! Yeah, we're gonna build those.

We're gonna do a small number, like 10 of them or something like that. That way these guys can drink their coffee while they listen to the show. Right. Can you turn my camera on too?

Oh, I got one too. Oh, yours is already cleaned up. Oh. What do you mean cleaned up?

did you rinse it all mine yeah yeah so you've been in my car since friday yeah so did you clean it yeah did you clean this one no i didn't clean that one is there only two i use mine yeah there's just two there was a third one but it was a test and actually mine is smaller than yours this is awesome i went yeah i i picked the bigger one can you do the two shot you picked the bigger oh you went with this one for production yeah the two shot you know what i'm not doing any shots i'm just He's not going to put me on the camera. That's okay, he's got to wear the mask longer. Yeah, so yours is bigger? Yeah.

I went with the bigger. Yeah, the bigger is better. Wow. That's nice.

Who sent these? Rook's Coating? Yeah. Also, that box is from him, for you.

Uh-oh. For me? No, no, not for you. Wow.

Which I also carried around in my car since Friday. Holy moly, dude, I got it by one finger, that's heavy. Which I felt stupid with that in the car, but he said it was for you, so. You felt stupid with this in the car.

Wait, did you see what it is? Now I'm worried. It better not be a knife. It's for the kids.

It's for the kids? Yeah. I'm not going to throw the knife to you because I'll cut you. Please be a dick glitter bomb.

Giant dick pops out and glitter shoots out the end. Wait, did you see that fan art? Oh, yes. Wow.

Upgrades. That's right. Oh, they're sugar free? He doesn't drink these, I forgot about them.

Those are sugar free. Yeah, he doesn't do the sugar free. That's right. But I mean, twice I'm like, I'll just take those in the house.

There's only like three or four of them in there. It can't be that big a deal. But it's like, no, he said they were for Mikey, so they stay in the car. Oh, I don't care.

I knew you wouldn't care and I almost called you once and go, look, he sent these. It's kind of silly me to hold onto these for five days. Yeah. Yeah.

But here they are. The guilt overwhelmed me and I couldn't touch them. Just couldn't handle it. Couldn't do it.

Wasn't for me. Well, that's very nice. Yes, Rooks Coating, thank you very much. Thank you very much, Rooks Coatings.

Looking forward to, you know, he could make us anything. He could make us a lot of stuff. Yeah, yeah. He could.

I got a little tour of the facility. Well, we're starting with the mugs. This is a thing that does this, this is a thing that does this. This is over here where I build time machines.

Over here is where I have a robot. Does he watch the show? Oh, yeah. Yeah, so he knows there's three people.

" Dude, take my cup. No, no, you're good. No, you're gonna have it. He won't.

He'll use it once and it'll end up in his car. Yeah, come on. Here. Aww.

I'd give you mine, but I've already used it. Thank you, guys. 'Cause I will use this. There you go, bud.

Enjoy, enjoy. That's for you. Thank you. You're welcome, buddy.

All right. Oh, they're gonna drink, this one's cold. Oh, I was gonna say, don't drink the water. So we're selling these.

We will be shortly. Oh. Yeah. Like I said, we're gonna produce like 10 of them or something like that.

This is one of the dubest things that we've ever had. That's pretty cool. Yeah. It is pretty neat.

He does allow us to do things that would normally, I mean, we would have to get like 35 or 40 of those if we did it like a bigger place that's specialized in that. I mean, he just has the ability to do it with his equipment, or he has. Well, I mean, he's a good guy. Yeah, yeah, he's a good friend of the show, friend of the shop, he's a friend of mine, so.

So you want to do business with him. He thought you were a douche, but other than that. Yeah, I'm a douchey-ness, you're a douchey-ness. Alright, done with the show?

We're ready to go with the show? It was funny, like, I showed up to his house one day, because he was doing a project for me. Yeah. " And she just kind of like broke into regular conversation, and I was like, she knows who I am.

Right, right, right. She watches the show with me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Celebrity.

That was pretty cool. That was pretty badass. So yeah, it's a cool feeling. Have we ever had bumper stickers?

No. Sticker stickers, but not bumper stickers. Sticker stickers. Not bumper stickers.

Yeah. All right, let's get on with the show. That might be the one thing he can't do is make bumper stickers. We're 15 minutes in.

I watch Cigar Hustlers podcast. All right, Secret Service officer shot and killed a person who the agency said approached a security checkpoint Saturday near the White House and fired at them. m. Eastern Standard Time, an individual approached the checkpoint just outside the White House complex and began firing at officers.

Oh boy. So this is what, number four? Is this the fourth time someone takes shots at the president? I think it's more than that.

So we got the one in the ear, you got the guy on the golf course, and then there was another one after that, that dinner where the guy was eating the mashed potatoes, not giving it up. Right, right, right, exactly. And now the guy's trying to storm the White House. This guy seems like he's the least advanced of the four.

This is the dumbest, I think, of the four. Yeah. Yeah, why would you go to the White House? I was politely saying least advanced.

Oh, yeah, I mean, how do you think you're going to get in with a handgun? Hey, if I start firing, I'm saying everybody will move and I can get in. That's usually not how it works. Yeah, exactly.

A Secret Service spokesman said, citing a preliminary investigation, Secret Service officers returned fire and hit the suspect who later died at an area hospital. Oh, no kidding. How common do you think the attempts are on the president? The current or general?

Just kind of like general. Like any president? Yeah, yeah. I don't think it happens as often.

Are we just finding out about it more? Reagan got shot once. Did somebody go after George Bush the second? Then we just don't know about him?

I'm sure a lot of people went after him because he was the 9/11, right? Yeah, he was president during 9/11. There's got to be some data on this, you know? Well, careful, you're going to get on a list.

I don't care, dude. You'll care when you show what you have. Especially when your last name is your last name. S.

" Oh, wow. Yeah. Since 1835. So a little under half.

A little under half. Yeah. And then how many of them, and then it breaks down successful assassinations. Have we?

Four. Four sitting presidents have been killed in office. Did you know that? I didn't know it was four.

Yeah. So who besides John F. Kennedy? Abraham.

Yeah, that's a big one. Oh, they go back that far? I didn't figure they went back that far. He was the president, yeah.

Well, I know, but if they go from the very, very beginning. Yeah, he started one, yeah. Which number was he, Palmer? I don't know.

He only knows because he's reading it. No, it's not on here, but that's fine. James Garfield. Oh, really?

Yeah. I don't even remember that guy. He doesn't even know where that is. William McKinley.

Yeah, Garfield was like elected twice, right? Pretty sure. William McKinley was the other one. Injured Survivors.

I don't remember McKinley. Ronald Reagan. Donald Trump. Teddy Roosevelt.

Teddy! Those three were all struck by that. Teddy finished his speech. " Hold on, please.

Didn't Robin Williams play him in National Treasure? So, how many have more than one? Yes, but not as president. Don't talk over me.

We were talking about something else. He asked a question first. Let's see here. I was worried about Teddy Roosevelt.

Is it weird that he has to say the words as he types? Like watch his lips move. Gerald Ford had two physical attempts. Abe had...

Oh yeah, the guy who liked Jodie Foster. Abraham Lincoln had multiple attempts. Did he really? JFK had multiple attempts.

Well, yeah, then it stopped. K. had four known assassination attempts. Wow.

K. wasn't in there? Yeah, he was. Oh, you said that?

I didn't even need to bring him up. I was talking about the two that you didn't realize. Bill Clinton. I didn't know somebody tried to kill him.

Four different documented plots to all of them. Wow, four. Barack Obama. Oh, I could have guessed that.

Hmm. Hmm. It almost seems like it's more common. So, when they said they uncovered a plot, it may not actually have been an attempt, but somebody had a plan to.

Yeah. I guess. Yeah. Not like somebody took a shot and missed, but somebody had a plan, like, okay, I'm gonna be whatever, and then they're like, hey, look at this note this guy wrote down.

Yeah. Yeah. I guess. Yeah.

Teddy and Franklin also, Teddy Roosevelt and Franklin D. Roosevelt also face multiple serious threats throughout their political careers. Tough being a president. I'm sure it is.

Oh, yeah. I would imagine. Stress is just unbelievable. You know what's funny is like you watch, you see the guys as presidents and then, you know, when they go into office and then four years later, they kind of look like you when you started on the podcast and then four years later.

Wow. Yeah. Yeah. It ages him tremendously.

I think Clinton was the worst that I've seen. Yeah? Hmm. He looked the worst towards the end.

I mean, Barack's still running around. He looks fine. He's still playing basketball and stuff. Wow.

Now, when he came out, from when he went in, I was like, oof. Oh, really? I didn't think he looked that bad. Yeah.

Compared. It's tough. It's tough in these streets. During the shooting, a bystander was also struck by gunfire.

Gunfire remains unclear whether the bystander was struck by the suspect or in the exchange with the Secret Service. Well, we're not going to get it down to the bottom of that either way. We're not going to check that bullet, just make that disappear. Who hit him?

Hmm, that guy did. Save that bullet for later. It was him. It was him.

C. on May 23rd. C. on May 23rd.

Secret Service personnel were not injured and the President Donald Trump was in the residence and unaffected. All right. All right, so he's fine. The guy apparently didn't get past the guard.

The guard check. All right. You know, if you watch that one movie, they have to have that dump truck that the guy with, not dump truck, the garbage truck with the guy with the big machine gun, the gatling gun inside it. Yeah?

That's the way you get past that. What movie was that? I don't know. One of those ones where they attack the White House.

I don't know. And Gerard Butler saves him. Whatever that one was. Oh, it was White House Down.

Was White House Down the one? Because there's been two with two different guys in it. Yeah, there was one with Channing Tatum and there was one with Gerald Butler. Channing Tatum and who was?

Jamie Fox. Jamie Fox, right, who needed his Jordans to get away from the terrorists. By the way, I started to watch Den of Thieves 2. The Den of Thieves 2, I shut it off.

You didn't like it? I think I've watched it. I like Gerard Butler. I don't like the fact that Gerard Butler lived from the first one.

Aw. Why? Because he was a scumbag. He's big on sequels.

You gotta watch the movie. I can't. You got to. I can't.

The minute that this guy is global, this global thief, and now he's gonna go and get him. Yeah, but it's like Peaky Blinders. You gotta get through the first little bit. I enjoyed the first little bit of Peaky Blinders.

Really? Yeah. Hmm. I had to get through the first couple of them.

Is this Ice Cube's son? Is this Ice Cube's son? Yeah. Yeah.

He doesn't strike. Crushed ice. Yeah. Crushed ice.

He doesn't strike me as master thief, and I just, I can't. Because he's Ice Cube's son, you can't believe he's a master thief? I'm not happy that, yeah. How do you know that if you don't watch the movie?

Because Den of Thieves 1, he was. So, Den of Thieves 2, now it's international, and I'm just done. Well, that's the way it goes, you know, yeah, now we got, in the next one they'll be in space. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Den of Thieves asteroid, we're going to take the media.

Elon Musk edition. Yeah, so, did you watch, are you referencing Den of Thieves or Den of Thieves 2? 2. Okay, and you think it's worth it?

Yeah. You got, you just got to get through the beginning. It is slow in the beginning. Ugh.

I just hate the fact that Gerard Butler is now going international to try and track him down. Like, that doesn't happen. Because he was a bad guy, now he's a good guy? Who, Gerard Butler?

No, don't tell him the movie. You're telling him the movie. He said that he is the bad guy in the first one. In the first one, yes.

I've seen the first one. I don't think I've seen the second one. Yeah. The second one's good, because there's a twist.

Whatever. Oh, the twist is Ice Cube Son is the bad guy? Just watch a movie. Let's watch a movie.

Okay, all right, moving on. All right, as a mom and dad prepped for takeoff, their kid was left as a cast-off. As a cast-off? Yes.

Like... An unnamed mother and father allegedly abandoned a 10-year-old boy at an unidentified airport in Spain after realizing they didn't pack all the kid's necessary travel documents. So they just left him? They left him.

Oh, my God. " Because he wouldn't be able to reach the parents, they're on the plane. What the hell are we doing, man? Are you kidding me?

Nope. The kid told police that his parents were on the plane on their way to their home country for a vacation, and Lillian, a, uh, oh, said Lillian, sorry, uh, air operations coordinator at the airport where the incident occurred. detailed the chaos over 429... I don't know, this makes no sense.

Over 429,000 TikTok viewers? Oh, 429,000 TikTok viewers. Her claims, however, have not yet been verified. Wow.

So apparently the lady who found him made a TikTok. Like, can you believe these losers left this kid? So this is a story that we don't know for a fact if it is 100% legit or not. Well, I got it from the news, not TikTok.

Gotcha. The explanation given to the authorities One of the stories was that the child was traveling with the expired passport from Spain and needed a travel visa, said Lillian, speaking Spanish in the clip, since he didn't have a visa, they left the kid in the terminal and called a relative to pick him up. Oh, so they called Aunt Sheila and Uncle Bob to come get little Billy. Yeah, but they still left them.

Dude. Yeah, they still left them. I'm not saying it's okay. He was a 10-year-old.

It's not like they left an 18-year-old in the airport. I mean, any kid. Period. Home Alone, Spain No, but Home Alone, they accidentally left him.

Yeah, these are on purpose. Oh, good, these are on purpose. I said, all right, all right, you know what? Dude, here's five dollars in Spanish money, have a seat.

In Spanish money? This guy is... It's a Spanish airport. Pesos.

Is it pesos in Spain? No. I didn't think so either. Oh, he's coming for you today.

He is, isn't he? He is, isn't he? Yeah. He's mad, because he didn't originally get a cup.

Yeah. Well, I have one now, and I don't think Mike is douchey. See? Thank you.

You're welcome. But he still thinks you're a ginger. No, I didn't say that. You did earlier.

It was very nice he dyed his hair. All right, I want to back up to this real quick. Yes. Like, that kid is going to hold it over his parents.

Oh, yeah. For the rest of their lives. Yeah, they're in trouble. This kid's going to be famous.

Can you imagine? This kid's going to be emancipated. Emancipated. Let me ask you.

Did your parents ever leave you anywhere when you were a kid? No. Did they ever forget you when you were a kid? Oh, we could be unpacking something here.

Hold on. What are you saying, Mikey? I'm just curious. No, I don't think they have.

Okay. What about you? No. Never.

And I went overseas and stuff. No. Never left me anywhere. Like yourself?

No. With my parents. Yeah. Huh.

Interesting. I'm afraid to ask if your mother left you. You shouldn't. Did Ruckus Unchained ever leave you?

You don't want an answer to that. Yes, we do. Did Sharon leave you alone somewhere? Yeah.

On purpose? She forgot me. Where? Did she have Greg with her, though?

Well, she forgot me at daycare. Oh, forgot to come and get you? After daycare closed. Oh.

Oh. Well. Maybe she's just late. She was leaving her job and they were throwing her a party for leaving.

Oh, last day type thing? She's going hard in the paint. She got a little liquored... Yeah.

Oh, she doesn't like you when she charged. That was the last... Honest mistake. You were the last...

Yeah, that happened. Really? Tomato, tomato. You forget your kid somewhere?

Oh, he does all the time. I've never had a going away party yet, so I don't know. You think you would forget your kid at that point? You know what?

Happy going away! This is your last episode. Oh, wow. I got news for you.

I don't think... You know, knowing your spouse, I don't think that that responsibility would ever fall on you. No, it wouldn't. Were your parents still together at the time?

Yeah, yeah. So where was your dad? Probably working. At the party.

With the hammers. With the hammers. He was a hammer salesman, it turns out. Yeah, he was a hammer salesman.

Traveling salesman. Like Mr. Feeney. He traveled around with a wagon full of hammers.

Come get your hammers. Wow, that's sad, man. We'll talk about that later. No, I just know that he's going to be angry all day.

" He's gonna call Greg and yell at him. Listen, I could just tell you that... How old were you? I was probably five, four or five years old.

And he remembers. Of course. I don't have any five year old memories. Well, that's a tragic event, so he's...

Well, yes, yes. Imagine it happening to a 10 year old. Well, and they had to explain it to him, so he didn't follow them onto the plane. You sit here.

You sit here. Yeah, when you're like four or five, like you don't know yet if your parents really love you. When you're 10, like you should know at that point. Yeah, they're explaining to him, look, your passport's not up to standards, we're very sorry, you can't go on the vacation.

I'm not leaving my kid for anything. Aunt Sheila and Uncle Bob's gonna come get you. Am I part of this family still? No.

Well, no, really you're not right now. Uncle Bob's always been fond of you. Yeah. They have a new pony.

We'll see you next year for Christmas. They have a new pony. See you next year. We'll see you when mom and daddy come back.

We'll bring back Pesos. We'll bring you back a present. Dude. What was their home country?

I mean, they're going from Spain to wherever they're from. America. People are going to America. Aww.

On a sadder note, there was a story I passed on, which is a little more horrific if you want to know what happened. If you want to give me the brief cliff notes, do you have enough cigar news? We're already at 30. Oh, yeah.

A guy left his son in the car for an entire work day. Oh no. So you can figure what happened, but then the guy shot himself, so it's fine now. Wow.

It's fine now? So it was an okay leaving the kid. It wasn't okay, but he took care of himself. How old was the kid?

I think they said eight. Oh, man. He didn't get out of the car? Yeah, I know, exactly.

I mean, you think, oh, this is where he left me. Could be worse. It could be in the airport in Spain. I don't know.

We're at summertime, so that's where these stories are gonna start popping up. Yeah, yeah. It's getting hotter. terrible man man i'm glad you didn't bring that story up because that's sad i'm very sad last time you saw your dad krispy kreme owes some people up to three thousand five hundred dollars as part of a class actual settlement i'm gonna be rich krispy kreme employees have one month left to submit a claim up to thirty five hundred dollars in a class action settlement settlement was reached in a case against krispy kreme alleging it failed to prevent the unauthorized This includes name, birthdate, social security number, and financial account access information during a 2024 data breach, according to the settlement's website.

Who gives their social, oh, I guess employees? This is for employees. You have to. You have to, you're an employee.

I'm thinking, well, I'm buying donuts, man. This employees upstairs are sort of, eh, employee, not employee. They all have the same social security number. That's right.

All at the same one. He just changes the last digit. This is weird, but okay, I'm gonna go with it. These are all sequential.

That was only one time. These are all sequential. Krispy Kreme agreed to pay $1,616,760 in settlement to resolve the allegations. What a weird number.

Yeah. Allegation that the private information of current and former employees was exposed during the breach. So somebody decided, I'm gonna hack Krispy Kreme. Mm-hmm.

Eligible individuals can submit a claim for $429, up to $3,500 to cover documented losses related to fraud or identity theft resulting from the breach. If you don't have proof, you can get, if you don't have proper documentation, you can submit a claim to receive an alternate cash payment. Anybody want to guess? Lifetime Donuts?

Phil? Wait, he's getting excited now about the Lifetime Donuts. $200. $75.

I was closer. Nice. So if you don't have the documentation, then we could all apply for $75 if you want. Hey, we're real sorry about leaking your social to the dark web.

Right. Here's $75. And come by and stop by on Wednesday. There you go.

When they're hot and now. When they're hot and ready. All right. France.

France? France has officially moved to ban nicotine pouches like Zinn and the penalties attached to the crackdown are grabbing global attention. How are you going to do it? How are you going to ban them?

But they're not going to be sold. And if they catch you spitting one on the ground, there's the spit police? Well, I mean, in that one country, if you spit gum, you get beat with a stick. That's a bobby.

What? You talking about, like, bobbies? To bobbies? No, like, in Europe, bobbies.

Oh, bobbies, yes. If you get caught using oral nicotine products, you could lead to penalties as severe as five years in prison and fines reaching nearly $429,000. Really? Wow, that's insane.

Imagine it's not in freedom dollars, though. It's got to be in... Pesos. It's France.

Pesos. Euros. Pesos. That was fast, so that was fun.

Oh, oh, oh. Pesos. Pesos. How many pesos will that be?

We have the French money. Pesos. The move targets tobacco-free nicotine pouches that have exploded in popularity across both the United States and Europe over the last few years. Supporters of the ban argue the products appeal heavily to younger users and believe stricter regulations necessarily slow down the use.

Good luck. Good luck. That doesn't even make sense. You're not going to control...

You don't like them. I thought you'd be happy. No, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if I like them or I don't like them.

I don't like over-regulation of anything. Period. " Right? Oh, I see what you're saying, yes.

Okay. " He's still thinking about the donuts. So, no, I absolutely despise these things, I think that they're terrible, like, I don't understand why anybody does them, and if you do it around me, I'm gonna make fun of you, that's gonna happen, and that's inevitable, but I still don't think that the government needs to step in and say all of this, you know, well if you do it, it's five years, and it's, no, that's ridiculous. A lot of money in fines.

So if you, if you're visiting there and you have one, you get in trouble? Oh, yeah. All you have to do is just not spit it out. Right, put it in your pocket.

Just keep it in your mouth and go throw it away like a normal, that's the problem is that, you know, it has this, and that's the same scenario that happened with vaping, is, you know, these asshats, they put a car battery attached to these vape things. Yeah, they get huge. And they, you know, they would put this gigantic amount of smoke or vapor up in the air where you couldn't even see, they look like a magic tree. they had those competitions yeah see how much you could get up and it would vent you know you like somebody did that i remember when somebody did in the shop when it was just getting going i'm like oh my god man what are you doing like i can't where are you and why does it smell like cotton candy yeah hey bobby you change your battery no man i'm just vaping over here i'm vaping it fine i remember people doing it on airplanes when they first started coming right yeah and that's the problem is like ah smoke oh no and you still see it to this day people are They're walking, in a crowd, boom, hit it, oh, slide it away.

With the shop, sometimes you find them in the parking lot. Yeah, they just throw them out. They're empty, they throw it, yeah, it's like throwing a battery down on the ground. There was an unusual, Friday was an unusual amount of the Zen pouch things on the ground.

They must have saw the France thing. There was more of those than cigarette filters. Okay. Well, it's becoming more popular.

Do you have a video? Skip the video, we'll just move on to Cigar News. I haven't wanted to, but we'll skip it. Alright, Cigar News!

EU opens public comment period for future tobacco regulations. So the European Union is continuing to work on the next-generational tobacco ban as of this coming December, but now they have opened up for public commenting, whether you're for or against. Okay. Do you want the phone number?

No. Sure. Okay. I didn't take it.

Oh. I figured you'd say no. Why wouldn't I say no? Because we don't live in Europe, and they don't care what we say.

I think it'd be funny anyways. You know what, just give them-- It was on Half Wheel. Okay. Just give them Justin Andrews number.

God, that would have been hilarious. " The comment period runs from May 18th to June 15th. The European Cigar Manufacturers Association, the ECMA, has published a guidance document that walks through how to submit a comment. The EU Commission has not yet disclosed the full scope of the revision.

However, we know that the planned packaging is under consideration in the upcoming revision of the EU Tobacco Products Directive. Okay. We therefore strongly invite cigar smokers to make their voices heard that the EU regulations understand that cigars are different from mass-consumed tobacco. Okay.

Yeah. Well, it's nice to hear that they're asking for... Well, I guess it's part of the process. They have to.

They have to. Oh, it's like when they rezone something here in America, they have to, you know, make up. How about you just leave it alone? I don't know, like don't do the generational tobacco ban?

Yeah, like this is all ridiculous. Somebody's got up their butt that it'd be helpful. I don't know what the hell's going on, man. This is ridiculous.

Why don't they ban like crack? Well, it is illegal. Oh, it's just illegal, not banned. Well, illegal and banned is sort of, if you, if you make it illegal, technically, I think it's banned.

No, being banned means you can't sell it. Cracked people can still sell crack. No, they can't. It's illegal!

I don't know. I think it's one of those tomato-tomatos again. So, they just can't use it, but they can sell it? Is that what your theory is?

I don't think they should-- Only in Maryland. Anyways, this is-- yeah, we're out of hand on this. Let's keep going. We're out of hand.

He's just realized that you're like, "I sounded stupid. " Ah, man. It's for the show. It's for the show.

It's for the show. Yeah, sure, it's for the show. Yeah, it's just for the show. Right?

Yeah. I mean, you don't normally eat that much. You just do it for the show. Wow.

Damn. Well, you got to come with me, I'm coming back. Wow. Tobaccones of Greenwich.

You're familiar with that shop? Yes. Do you like that shop? I don't know that shop, but that shop usually has a lot of high-end yada yadas.

Oh, yeah. It's like the number one, most affluent retail store in the world. Oh, yes. They land exclusive with Foundation, LFD, and Padron.

Yeah. Foundation. On June 10th, the Tobacco-ness of Greenwich is hosting an event called Titans of Tobacco. There you go.

Oh, I've seen this. They're all in like a brown box. They're all in different... I don't know.

Yeah. Featuring six or seven noted cigar personalities. I don't think they're putting the personalities in a box. No.

As part of the event, each person is bringing special cigars, most of which will be exclusive Vitola of an existing line. So far, three have been announced. Okay. Foundation is bringing a 6x54 Toro of its Foundation 10-year anniversario.

Oh! J. Fernandez using the Connecticut Broadleaf Habano Hybrid Wrapper over a Brazilian Montefina binder and fillers from three regions in Nicaragua. Great job.

I'm very proud of you. Condega, Esteli, and Jalapa. So far, it's only been offered in a single 7x58 Salamone. Each 10-count box of the cigars, which is branded as Foundation Rare Finds Titans of Tobacco Collection, is priced at $429.

You wouldn't have got that one. Okay. Wow. In a similar fashion, La Floridomenicana releases a 6x54 version of the company's La Floridomenicana 30-year anniversary.

5x58 chisel, but now gets its second Vitola. Anybody want to guess? 5x80. 60.

Oh, they don't say. Wow. Just what is blended by, and it's $475 for a 10-count box. Okay.

Padrón has created a... Millennium? We'll go for a size, and then we'll explain what it is. Oh, it's a Padrón Black.

Sorry. Oh, okay. But it's a size. What is the size?

The size is going to be a Robusto. -Phillip? -I think it's going to be a Toro. -What size?

-6 1/2 by 56. -652. -654. -You overbid, I went.

-Yeah, we were close. -It is made entirely of Nika Rag 1 tobaccos. -Thank you. -While most Padrones are offered in two wrapper options, just one is being created for the event.

-So it's only just the one, just the one. -Okay. List of cigars using a Maduro wrapper, the Padrón Rare Finds Titans of Tobacco Collection is priced at... it's a 10 count box.

What are you doing? That's not the Padrón Black? 10 count Padrón Blacks. Let's go...

And a 6x54. Let's go 400 bucks. Five? Dollars?

100. Thousand? 100. $750 per box of 10.

Damn. Oh, two for two. Nobody's saying how many boxes they're making. Tobacco's of Greenwich has yet to announce the release from Arturo Fuente, Hendrick Hincky Kellner, and Klaus Kellner, and Tabla Calera Diaz Cabrera, and at least one of those cigars will be something other than a 6550 for Arturo.

The June 10th event will feature Carlito... Fuente? of Arturo Fuente, Nicholas Melillo of Foundation, Hendrick Hincky Kellner, and Klaus Kellner, the twins. Lito Gomez of La Flora Dominicana, George Padrón of Padrón, and Eladio Díaz of Tablacolera Díaz Cabrera.

Eladio. In addition to the ticketed dinner, an auction featuring rare cigars will take place to raise money for Cigar Rights of America. Who do you think should have been there other than them? Is there somebody else that should have been there?

Eric Espinosa. Oh, Eric? You think Eric should have been there? Sure.

He can run in that crowd. Yeah. Who else? Well, we know the other one, but...

I mean if, well, Skip doesn't get invited to things. He doesn't play well with others. Yes, he does. He gets along with a lot of those guys.

I'm sure he does. He should have definitely been first on the list. J.? He's busy with his new building.

J. is invited just indiscreetly because he made all those cigars. , Boofy. Boofy could, and he would really spice the place up a little bit.

Drop him right in the mix. Right, but I don't, I don't think those, who is the buffoon, who invited him, who is the buffoon, that's not nice. He keeps trying to touch my peepee, oh, wow, okay, imagine walking up, the audio would go, oh, that's going to be my new birthday cigar, you grab that hog, he said, you see the clip, he said his cigars don't have AIDS, they're AIDS free, like, oh, that's good to know. So all the rest of them apparently aren't.

That's nice. So you can see him doing his shtick with this crowd. No JD? Well, he's not JD anymore.

No John Tom? No, he's in Dominican Republic at the moment building an empire. Yeah, his cigars have not come out. They don't carry his cigars here yet.

Thank you for switching from me while I was taking a sip. No problem. Should have switched back when he was sipping. Okay, next.

All right, senior officials in the Food and Drug Administration have made a grave error, Michael. Oh boy. S. market.

That's how it works. It's called loopholes. If they had only banned them, we would be fine. Well, they're not allowed in France anymore, so they rerouted them.

We're getting all the French ones now for the Paces. We have to pay the Paces. The guidelines posted online earlier this month before former FDA Commissioner Marty Marcari resigned, will allow companies to launch certain nicotine-based products before they're even been fully vetted by regulators. Okay.

Some FDA officials tasked with enforcing vaping regulations were not consulted on the changes and only learned of them the night before the document was published, according to two staffers who spoke to the AP on condition of, uh, don't say who we are. Confidentiality Agency Matters. They're not supposed to talk about them. D.

D. " The building one. I think it was the second one. Number two?

I think number two. P. and go, "Hey, guess what? " You're not going to believe this.

You're not going to believe what happened. They're all in the same building. -Just don't touch the beepers. -All the same building.

-We gave them the beepers. -Yeah. -The document suddenly, a sudden appearance sparked international, oh, internal confusion about how the policy came about and who authorized it. -Who okayed this?

-Who put this in there? -The guy's looking around like this. -Was it you? -Was it me?

-Was it me? -I bet it was Matt Booth. -Yeah. -In recent days, agency officials have conveyed hour-long meetings grappling with how to implement The six-page memo which breaks the long-standing FDA policy requiring scientific verification of health benefits for smokers before any new products are introduced.

Ah. Mm-hmm. Okay. Well, I'm glad there's a loophole.

Yes, 'cause what we need are more vapes and more nicotine pouches. Well, here again, I'm not for the regulation of any of that stuff. Oh, well, then this works perfect for you. These don't even have to be tested.

So maybe they have AIDS. Maybe they do have AIDS. There needs to be some form of regulation, but it needs to be... No, no, it's too much.

It is too much. You're right. They do have regulations called taxes. Okay.

That's not how that works. Yeah. But that's fine. You sell it, we keep money.

No. Back to the crack is not illegal. Yeah. You can sell it.

All right. It's time for the industry's favorite game. Get your fingers ready for the thing. What's the score?

Today's first cigar, May 23rd, can't you do that before we do them? No, because if you do it beforehand, it's not ready to go. It turns off. I'm sorry, does it bother you?

Yes, as soon as I start describing the cigar every time, you kick that off. " on. I do pause, but you're not ready, because then you have to find the remote, and then by the time I start reading, you're hitting the button. So I just needed an extra two seconds.

Or be prepared. Can you give me two more seconds? Be prepared. I just need two more seconds.

How am I supposed to know? You know, giving you two more seconds sounds like a regulation you're trying to make, and we're not for over-regulation at the end of the show. How am I supposed to know when we're moving to what's the score? Because it's the end of the show.

How do I know that we're at the end of the show? I wink at you, just like you told me to. You wink? Yes.

I missed the wink. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, there better be no winking past this point. Well, no, it's right before this starts. Oh.

Okay, let's go. May 23rd, 2026, Charlie Monado is a reviewer. 5 x 56. Ooh, Blood Medicine.

Blood Medicine. I thought we ordered this. Did we ever get this in? Yes.

I don't think we got this one, but we had to have one. I think we had the first one. You had one because we did it on the show. Yeah, we didn't.

Can't say what we did. 88. Philip? 85.

5x56, it's round, and they smoked, 3. A bing-pong. 87. 85.

First clue, the tart dynamic profile in the first cigar really elevated the experience, given the wood and earth core a lot more depth in keeping the flavor engaging throughout the smoke. Mmm, tardy. 88. 85.

Clue number two, the retro hails sounded especially interesting in the latter stages with notes... Sounded. sounded good with notes like brown mustard barbecue sauce tomato and sweetness creating some unique transitions you don't usually hear described in cigar review sounds like what I'm having for dinner 86 went from a warhead to a brisket 85 oh sorry glue number three the wrapper issues sound Brown, Brutal, Multiple Cracks, Unraveling Wrappers, and Constant Touch-Ups completely took away from what could have been a much stronger experience. Mm.

Eighty-one. Eighty. Final thought. Had I known what was to come, I would have approached the smoking the first cigar with a mononastic focus.

I was doing my normal check-ins, making notes about the cigar, but I was prepared to rely on the next two cigars to help provide further details for the review. Unfortunately, those two cigars were not the same experience and I really wish they had been. Without the unraveling issues, the Bee Positive delivers this great mixture of savory with tartiness. But with them, it just left me wanting so much more.

Oh, now you're doing it. 81. Philip. Is there any winking going on?

Oh, 80. You went the wrong way. 88. What?

I had it. Yeah, at one point you did. It sparked in my head. Oh, God.

88? Your red hair is going to be on fire. Yeah, 88. That's one.

After that description? Look, I don't write them, I just, you know, read them. Oh my god. Second Cigar, May 24th, 2026, Patrick Le Greed, Dominican Republic, limited edition, Long Live the Queen, Forbidden Fruit Oscuro.

Phil? This is a Caldwell? Yes. Yes.

I think I've had this. It's new. Oh, it's brand new? Yes.

No, I haven't. Okay. Thank you for clearing that up for us. Thank you.

But Caldwell, some of them are pretty good. You know what? If it made it on here, I'm going to go 92. Wait, wait.

To be fair, they review all cigars, not just the good ones. Remember, we had a 46 last week. Why are you helping him? Let him pick his number.

Because he's stupid and you have to. Wow. Wow. That was super hurtful.

He's so pretty hurtful. He's been very mean. Yeah. What is going on?

Oh, he was mean to me. You thought it was hilarious. I'm mean-backing. I'm a terrible person.

Listen, red. He made enough out of you over there. He made one joke about you. No, no.

It was several. But you are old. Well... Don't do it.

Don't do it. Don't you do it. You leave him alone. 92.

You know, people find out you dye your hair, you get all upset. 87. You dye your hair? No, you dye your hair.

People find out you dye your hair. From your, you know, the real color is red. Now, you make it black. I prefer to be red.

The question is? I'd be north of the wall. Oh? Yeah.

Do the rugs match the drapes or whatever it is? Curtain match the carpet? Curtain match the carpet? Yeah, is that what it is?

Yeah. Yeah. Well, that's Preston when he gets here. He's here.

He's in the parking lot. Oh, you're making him wait out there? You're making him wait outside? No.

This is like leaving your kid in the truck and then you go off yourself. Let's go. Let's go and finish this up. How are we going to get the carpet question answered?

If he doesn't come in, why we're still on the air? Come on. It's honors with him. I said mine.

Again? Yes. Oh, do you have dum-dums? Of course.

You sure? He's got the bag he thought was ours. Yeah. 92.

I said 92. All right. Long live the queen, forbidden fruits, furrow. He didn't even guess the number.

Yeah, he did, didn't you? Yeah. 87. Country of origin, Dominican Republic, factory.

It's the Mina Del Rey factory. Okay. Rapper, Mexico, binder, we're not saying. Oh, it's undisclosed, but Sumatra seed.

okay okay that's acceptable you were asking no questions yeah he would like yeah I guess that's fine I'm okay with that all right filler Dominican Republic link 6 by 60 it's a round cigar hmm and they smoked free 92 86 clue number one the creaminess toast earth toasted wait the creaminess toast earth and pepper And the second, third sounds extremely balanced and refined, especially once the profile opened up and gained more richness. Mmm. 92. 89.

Construction really seemed to shine overall, especially with the thick, durable ash and strong smoke production throughout the entire experience. 92. Mmm. 90.

Clue number three, the profile sounds a little too mellow and repetitive early on, with minimal transitions and a lack of strength. keeping it from being more memorable wait I have a question yeah doesn't it sound like he's been reading someone else's review and he's explaining it with his comments no I don't know where you're going with that sounds a little too mellow like it's not the profile he gave it the profile he's reading sounds too mellow yeah he was yeah he probably read the profile that Caldwell pulled up put out no I was probably reading his reviews the three notes of all three and And that's why you're indicating that, hey, it sounds like this. So go ahead. All right.

No, no, you guys vote, Phil. Is this the final? No, no, that was the third clue. Ninety-two.

Eighty-nine. Final thought. The Long Live the Queen Forbidden Fruit is a pretty enjoyable cigar, though for as big as it is, it's one that could use a bit more time in the sweet spot. The opening of the cigar is slow and not terribly dynamic, kind of being stuck in rush hour traffic waiting to break free and get into a higher gear.

I want to break free. The second third is where that happens as the flavor blossoms and shows a pretty enjoyable complexity and balance in a profile that isn't overwhelming. Like a flower. The final third calls back to the first third, but a bit more character, though it comes at the expense of the harmony of the second third.

Mmm. Construction was a bit of a mixed bag. Smoking at my normal rate took me a while to get through the cigar, while a bit quicker of a smoking pace didn't seem to impact the cigar adversely, while helping cut down on the time investment. On the whole, it's an enjoyable cigar that I would be interested to experience in a smaller, quicker smoking format, or if there was a way to "nub-ify" it.

Shopping off the first and final third and getting right to the best part of the cigar. 88. He got pretty low, pretty fast there. I'm gonna go 89.

He said 88, you said 89? You went the wrong way! Yes! 87.
