Cigar Hustlers Podcast 225 Blood Sweat & Piss

Cigar Hustlers Podcast 225 Blood Sweat & Piss

Episode Summary

Episode 225 of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast opens with the usual housekeeping from Mike and Mike — sponsorship renewals (including the running "Shirtless Mike" ad-read bit), the Hustler Universe Podcast Network consolidation, and an upcoming local appearance at the Cars That Care Car Show in Volusia County, where the guys are sponsoring, judging and volunteering. From there the conversation turns personal: coaching pre-K/kindergarten flag football, the fundamentals-versus-winning debate, flag-pull rules for five- and six-year-olds, poor sideline behavior from opposing coaches, a family move, a first tattoo at Sacrament Tattoo in Lakeland, and a morning trip to ride Universal's VelociCoaster.

The industry news segment is the meat of the episode. Jennifer Grove of Metro Cigars in Germantown, Wisconsin takes over as president of the Tobacco Association of America (TAA), succeeding Joe Arundel of Rain City Cigars in Seattle. The hosts walk through the full executive committee — Julie Newman as first vice president, Marvin Holzhauser of Harbor Cigars as second vice president, Steve Castro as treasurer — plus the new general board additions from Stogies World Class Cigars in Houston and Smokers Friendly, and Oliva CEO Cory Bappert joining as a manufacturer advisory member. They explain how the TAA's group-buying trade show model works and joke about the association's exclusivity and their own odds of ever being admitted.

Also covered: a new batch of Viaje Zombies hitting retailers, with the Zombie Green (Corojo wrapper) and Zombie Red (Maduro) both in 5x52 perfectos at $12.10 per cigar, alongside the recently shipped Zombie Super Shot and Zombie Peppers — and a quick history of the Zombie line's extensions like the Antidote and Biohazard. Ventura Cigar Company is releasing Slaughterhouse The Operator, a 6x50 all-Nicaraguan Toro made at Plasencia in collaboration with Operation Cigars for Warriors, limited to 1,300 bundles of 10 at $5 per cigar with 100% of proceeds donated. Blackbird Cigar Company has pulled out of the 2022 PCA Convention & Trade Show (July 9–12, Las Vegas) due to a Dominican factory transition — the hosts confirm they'll be there with a table. There's also a Drew Estate note on the Undercrown Maduro and Undercrown Shade Corona Pequeña, plus the usual Florida Man segment (a beer-cave urination arrest in Rockledge and a dubious "man powers house with lost nuke" story), Listener of the Week, and Shop of the Week honors to Black Iris Cigars for the first BDP reorder.

Record. I had a schedule today, baby. I had a schedule, yes. Very, very excited, Mike.

Welcome to episode 225! Trying to be professional, Michael. 225 of the Cigar Hustler Podcast. Then you on the wrong show, baby.

I know, we're trying to be professional, so we get asked to do somebody else's show, too. Oh, they will never. No, it's just not going to happen. Not going to happen at all, huh?

Not in the cards. Not in the cards for the Cigar Hustlers podcast. That was in a way. Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Square.

You, too, can become our... Are you going to say everything I say? No. You, too, can become part of our podcast family and invest in our show.

Put your products in front of thousands of listeners and viewers every week or maybe on a different podcast. We're heard on 13 different podcasts of ours weekly all around the world. com. Let's see.

As a reminder of the show, this show is already part of the Hustler Universe. We found on the Hustler Universe Podcast Network channel. Yes. In just one more week, the other channel will go away, and you'll also find that show here exclusively.

The shitshow goeth. Yes, the shitshow channel goeth. And then cometh. And then cometh.

Uh, let's see, uh, some business here, Michael, real quick, real quick, some business take care of? It is time to renew our shirtless mic, uh, sponsorship. Oh! He contacted me over the weekend?

He did. Did he contact you too? No. Oh, yes.

He knows better. Oh. You gotta go right to the bank. You don't come to me.

What the fuck am I? Uh, I told him we would discuss it today, but I believe, uh, we will renew, but we have some new- We have some terms. Some copy and some terms that we would like. I feel like, you know, when we watched some of his shows towards the end, he really just kind of...

He kind of like phoned it in. All right, coming from the Cigars and Puckers Green Room. My guest, Skip Martin, something like that. Yeah.

So I'm going to give some copy that he, we, sorry, we will give... No, you go ahead. Okay, I will prepare to copy. It's just, yeah, more work.

It's like my wife says my kids, it doesn't upset me. I'm like, yeah, the year... You're kids. " You know what I mean?

I know that we're part. You know what I mean? You're not gonna hurt my feelings. Alright, we will, some copy for you, shirtless Mike, and maybe we'd like you to wear a shirt when you read our part and then take it off.

That'd be funny. Oh. That sounds like a lot of work, though, if he's got like the headphones or something. A button-up.

Maybe a button-up. Ooh, maybe like a tear-away. Like something that's kind of like, maybe Velcro applied and you could just... Just a dickie, one of those fake...

But you need it to be reusable. Yes, that's true. Alright, maybe no shirt. Sorta ruins this thing, I guess.

He is shirtless, Mike. But there will be some copies, some new copy, and you must read the copy. It won't be long, but as- I wonder what he would charge for like a tattoo that was, cause you know, he's always at that angle. Oh, yeah.

You know. Cigar, so I can ask. Cigar, yeah. How much for a visible- I imagine we would have to cover the cost of the tattoo, as assumed, and then I don't know what the extra would be, but I can ask.

I wonder what that would look like. I'm just kind of curious, just, just throwing things out. Maybe just the Hustler Universe, because that's just two words. I would love to, I would love the Cigar Hustlers podcast kind of logo.

Yeah, like that one? Like, no, no, yeah, like that, no, that's ACHP, like actually the shirt, which says, you know, with the mic, yeah, that'd be cool. Oh, all right, let's just words in a microphone. I'll ask you and see.

Let's see what we can, let's, let's try and push the envelope. We need to negotiate, Michael, apparently. And I did receive the final contract from the Cigar News boys, they're hounding me for a check, so we're going to have to lock that up here soon, too. All right.

I think there's something they need to buy, or Tyler needs to, more cigars or something, I don't know. He just wants to feel like he's done it, you know, and I get that. I can respect that. Yeah, yeah, I get that, too.

You get over the hump, you get your first one, you know, and it's like, yes, we have arrived. Also on May 14th here locally, the Hustle Universe will be at the Cars That Care Car Show. Oh, you're doing that? We're doing a table.

Yes, we are also a judge. I mean, you're not. I'm doing it with the other people from the other show because you're just a busy, busy man. Unless you want to go.

I feel a little bit. What day is it? It's Saturday the 14th from 4 to 7:30. I have to look.

All right. If you'd like to come, you're more than welcome. Okay. We're a judge.

I'll speak with my supervisor. Alright, we are set up at, oh, do I need a little media check? No, no, I'm trying to limit your contact with her at all times. I'll check my emotional friend and see if you're available.

Your emotional friend. She will clear space, I'm sure, if I ask for you to become available just for a couple hours. Just a couple hours. We'll see.

We're judging, we're sponsors, we're volunteers. We're very active. We're very active in this organization. We're very active.

We're entrenched in the community at this point. Yes. Yeah. I'm getting in good with those counselors, too.

There's a city council person that runs it, and there is a soon-to-be, let's just call her, city council. Potential? Potential, there we go. Potential city council as the assistant to the running of the thing.

Very nice. We're trying to get all completely locked in, and the mayor's gonna be there, Sheriff Chitwood's gonna be there, so a lot of local celebrity peoples. Can we talk about who the fuck is in my chair for your shit show? Chet.

Okay, he always lowers this fucking chair and it drives me nuts when I get in. He's not taller than you either. I don't know what the logic is. I don't know why.

But, you know, it's like getting, have you ever gotten into your car after something? Oh yeah, my son drove my car this weekend. And it was fucked up. Oh, he's six feet tall.

Even a fucking stairway. Yeah, you know what I mean? Yeah, it's just annoying. Put it back.

Right. Fucking put it back. Right. This is not your shit.

I mean, it's just up all the way. It's not like he's gotta find a sweet spot. I like it high. You like it high?

He likes it low. Yeah, I like to kind of rest and just, you know, like my composite photo here or 3D art of myself. I do move, yeah, I move the things in and out, so. That way it's, mm, I like to sit like this.

Right. You know? All hunched over like him. Like just kind of a dominating.

Like the gorilla. Yeah. Working on a small gold necklace for the gorilla. Oh, a little pea action.

A little pea. Oh, very nice. Oh, very nice. Try to make him look more and more like you, Michael.

That's fantastic. It was fantastic. I mean, I didn't think, you know, I mean, the red was a dead giveaway. Yes.

Yeah, you know, it's quite obvious. So what'd you do this weekend? Well, it was, it was quite the weekend. The weekend was very busy for me.

Very sad weekend I saw on social media. It was, it was very sad as well. Well, you know, we said goodbye to the Manny as he has... Did the teacher go with him?

Yes, for the drive. I actually have to pick her up this evening. Oh, she's flying back. Yes, because they're technically, they're off today in Volusia County.

Oh, that makes sense. Yeah, it's a holiday. I was going, but you know, I'm, I like screwing with her and saying, well, now I'm blocking you. We're distancing ourselves because she's by herself.

She's by herself. Yeah, we're going to, we're going to keep, we're going to keep our distance. Is she originally from up there? Yeah, yeah, that's where her family is.

So, so they're going to take a stab at that and I wish them the best, but I hope it fails miserably and they want to come back, you know, obviously. But yeah, no, you obviously wish you obviously wish the best for them. Right. And they got, you got to, everybody's got to kind of carve your own path in life.

So does she have a job, can she go back to what she was doing before? Uh, she'll be, she'll, she's going to be teaching up there, I believe. So she's already set that up. So she's probably waiting till the school year's over.

Yes, that's correct. That's correct. She loves the school that she's at right now. She loves the, you know, the, the whole thing.

It's just kind of a drive. I think it's just a bunch of things, you know, so. Yeah, it sucks that they're going, but hey, wishing the best, and we had some football. We had a little football this weekend.

Friday, we lost our game. Oh, no. Yeah. We lost Friday, and...

Hold, hold, hold, hold, hold just a second. We might have to start going over the stories beforehand, so I have the sound set up. Okay, don't say you get lost again. Friday, we lost our game.

And then it got a little bit of... Oh, wrong. That wrong one, like, oh no, oh no, where's Mr. McTavish, you're terrible sound, right?

There's two of them. Well, that's your problem. All right, okay. So we lost our first football game this season.

Like, oh no. Oh no. And you know, what's really kind of funny is, it wasn't that this team was better than our team. Right.

That was probably the most discouraging part of it. Like, our kids, they just weren't, they just weren't having it. They weren't in it, huh? No, man, they were dropping balls left and right, and they weren't pulling flags, and, you know.

Well, man, you gotta go to work. You gotta go to work. You gotta go to work, kids. You gotta go to work.

So, so we had to do back-to-back games on Saturday. Right. To make up for a game, and plus another game or something, so we had to play this team. Oh, so you played Friday.

Oh, yeah. And then not two games Saturday, but back-to-back as in, you played again Saturday. Yeah, so we played. Okay, not three games, two games.

Oh, yeah, no, there were two games Saturday. Oh, three total! Yeah, and then same with Jax, Jax had two games Saturday. Oh, no.

So, so, the Chargers, the five and the six-year-olds got the speech from coach, and like, listen. Oh, you know what they were thinking afterwards? What? He's going like, eh, fuck that guy.

All right, okay, all right, calm down off the soundboard now. Trying to redeem myself. So, you know, it's like, hey, you know, you guys, we practice all these things, and then you just totally disregard all of them, they're out the door, and like, that's, that's no bueno. You know, that's, you got to work on this sort of thing.

Are you talking Spanish to them? No. That's no bueno. No, but there's, you know, there's sometimes I say a word and like one of the other coaches, like, they don't understand what that's.

I'm like, yeah. Oh, big word for little kids. Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm very sorry.

But, um. Long ass and embarrassing name. Dude, you know, listen, I'm not, I love these kids. I love all of them, you know, and I will happily coach them and teach them.

And, you know, you kind of go as you're going along, you figure out who's engaged and where you can level them up. And then you, you work on the ones that are less engaged and how you bring them up to being like, there's a whole process for the, for a team of 12 kids. Right. Okay.

And you kind of break it down. And then like, as you're progressing, I'm not, you know, I'm a, I guess I'm kind of a presence on the field and I'm not passive. You know, I run that defense and I make sure that I want the kids to stay where they are. And then when it's time to hand the ball off, like when the, when I don't want them to run You don't run in until the ball has been passed, right?

That was always the rule that I understood, now that rule is kind of hairy, apparently you can pull the quarterback's flag when he extends. I'm like, dude... Wait, wait, I'm confused. Yeah, so here, so, apparently, for pre-K and kindergarten kids, the ball had to be handed off for you to cross the line and pull the flag.

Oh, so they can run, the quarterback can run back there with the ball all day long if he wants to, technically. he has like six seconds okay okay so but there's always a little bit of leeway a little gray they're five and six right you know i mean i mean let's work with them here give him a minute to figure out what he's doing right so so you wait till the ball's handed off so i always make sure i make sure the kids stay in their spots i make sure they don't jump around because it's very easy for to be convinced to go the other way stuff yeah so i'm always yelling stay home stay home stay home and then i'm like go right and i make sure the edge guys go the right direction not directly towards the ball because they've got to protect their spot. So now it's kind of like there's this conversation of, well, you can pull the flag when the ball is out, like if the quarterback is extending, right? Okay, if he's handing the ball.

Right. My guys can run in and pull the flag. From the quarterback. And I'm like, what the fuck?

You're not teaching these kids anything at that point. I could get all of my kids dialed in to just fucking eliminate. You guys would never see the... your team would never move the ball at all.

Right. What the fuck? Where's the investment in fundamentals of football at that point? What if they get excited and pull, I don't know, the running back's flag before he gets the ball?

Right. Well, then at that point, that flag doesn't happen. You have to tag them when they have the ball. Ah, okay.

So there is a fallback rule. Yeah, but like... I imagine that's gotta happen. Of course, you know, but man, when we had the speech, so we lost Friday.

This Friday, we played the same team Saturday morning, and man, where we dialed in, we did not mess around, and we won that game big time. Yeah, we'll talk with them after the game. Of course, man, I want them to have fun, you know what I mean? I want them to have a good time, but I also want them to learn.

So, it was cool, man. It was a good, like a valid, like the kids, it all registered, like, okay, yeah, let's do this, you know? Like, you guys want to win? Yeah.

Is this much involved with the other teams? Oh my God, yeah. Is there? Oh, yeah, dude.

So, as they get older, it gets more and more competitive. Well, I imagine as they get older. Yeah. The kindergarten.

Oh, are you saying the other team? Yeah, the other teams. I mean, it's kindergarten. Sometimes you'd just be happy they're all running the right way.

Right. And, you know, it depends on the coach and what they're working with. Well, right. So, like, there's one team.

It's kind of a mess. And, you know, you do your best for them. Make your best for them. Like, you know, I don't want them to, if we start blowing them out, it's like, okay, let's put in the small guys, let's make some modifications, let's, you know, like, where are you going?

Put in the third string now. No, like, it's like, where are you going? I'll make sure that there aren't kids there, you know, so that your kids can run, or whatever the case may be. But, you know, it depends upon the level of the coach that I'm dealing with.

If the coach on the other side, let's say he's got a good team, like the Colts team is pretty good. His original coach was really good, but he wasn't there this week. Very respectful, you know, very close game, and, you know, mutual respect, wait to set up your defense, wait to set up your offense, we're not just going to try and jab one in on you or anything like that, but if you're a complete shitbag of a coach, I'm going to fucking slaughter you, I'm going to embarrass the hell out of you, right? So the Colts replacement guy who covered for him, he's shoving his kids, like the ball gets handed off, he's shoving them, he's pushing them, the kid fell down, I'm like, what are you, you're not teaching a kid how to play football at that point, it doesn't even make any sense, so, I don't know, I'm a big proponent of teaching, right, like I want to win, and I'm a big believer in the win, because I think that there's some value in the win, there's a lot of value in the loss too, so, I want to make sure that my kids have a good time, that they learn how to engage, I'm not I'm not gonna shove them to a position.

I may pick them up and put them in their spot. Right. No, no, no, you gotta, I need you here. I need you over here.

Move here, there you go. Yeah, it's like, football for five and six. Here, you need to be over here. Big fella, you move a little more this way, come on this way.

So like, the man he called it, football for pre-K and kindergarten is like Roomba, is playing chess with Roombas. You know what I mean? Like you place them and then they kind of blah, blah, blah. They move around, you know, back to one.

Yeah, so, but, um, damn, I, you know, the team came through, so we got, we got a championship tournament next week, and, um... This, which is this weekend. Yeah. Oh.

See how it goes. See how it goes. I mean, we've, we've beaten every team at this point. Yes.

So it's just that the kids... Oh, well, except the one. Well, then we played them again. We beat them.

Oh, you have beat them. You don't have a perfect... No. But I think we're number one.

So... Oh, is it like, uh... Who's number one? Michael's football team, he's the kindergarten guys.

Yeah, exactly. Right. And then, so then we got to watch Jack's play afterwards, and man, that kid is... So you're not, you're not a coach on that team?

I'm not a coach on that team. Oh. But that's how it all happened. But you used to be.

No, no, no. Oh, you never were? It's always been Justice's team? I thought, I thought you started on...

No, I wasn't really a coach on Jack's team. You must have filled in or something? I'm, I may have filled in, um, when he, in the other league. Ah.

Once this team got together, no, these coaches are fantastic. Ah, gotcha. So, is this the foot doctor's team? The foot doctor's team.

Ah, excellent, excellent, we like the foot doctor's team. He's texting me at like midnight last night, 12:30, I'm like, shouldn't you go to bed? I mean, like, big game, big game, coach, shouldn't you be resting? Don't you have like surgery or something to do in the morning?

I don't know. Ah, it's just foot surgery, they'll be fine. They'll be fine, what, are they going to limp? Yeah, so.

Yeah, worst case, they limp, come on. But Jax had, he had a really good run where he almost got a touchdown, and then he had a pick six From damn near end zone to end zone. Oh, attaboy. Which was, it's cool, man, it's cool to see that he's working really hard and then things are progressing for him, so, and because he got that, they let him stay in quarterback for the extra point, which was cool.

The kindergartners, is it all running game? Is there any passing? We pass a little bit. Do you?

But we don't... Seems like you're gonna have to have a very unusually well-talented child to do quarterbacking at that, actually, you need two, you need one to catch it. I would tell you that, you know, we have some pretty talented kids. So, you know, some kids that work really hard and some of them can catch really well.

Some of them can throw really well. Justice can throw really well. You know, but it's... He gets that off-season workout coaching thing.

Well, you know, I think the big difference is that he's got his brother, you know, and he wants to play and throw football and stuff with his brother. Like, catch with the bro. Oh, they're nice. Shit, what was I going to say?

You don't want to throw... There are two times you throw when you're playing pre-KK, right? When you're blowing them out, and you're looking to just kind of mix it up and kind of get things more entertaining for the kids and kind of start preparing them for the next level. Or, when shit is just going completely wrong, and you can't run for whatever reason, And you're like, all right, well, they're stacking the line, let me try to throw, you know, but our kids can throw, our kids can throw.

Does everybody wear a flag, or just the ball handlers? Everybody wears a flag. So, I mean, if you yank one off a lineman, he doesn't just fall down. No, no, I mean, it doesn't do anything.

Right. He's still in the play. He just gets to wear a flag, too. But some of these kids, they, you know, they'll get a little overaggressive.

They'll, you know, they'll shove, or they'll, they'll push. Is there actual blocking? You're not supposed to. One kid put hands on Jacks, apparently, like went for his throat.

Oh. Yeah, man. It's crazy. It's, you know, I'm really grateful for the coach.

Oh, there's no blocking in Jacks' age either? No. Oh. No.

But they're a lot more aggressive. So, when you're, like, he was running end zone to end zone, they have to actually catch him, not hit him. Yeah, they got to pull the flag. Oh, gotcha.

Yeah. A lot harder to do. I'll tell you what, we had one of our kids got leveled in pre-KK. He made the touchdown, and then this kid went in and chucked him anyways.

Oh. And then our kid chucked him. I didn't see that. Fight, fight!

I didn't see the initial chuck, but then when that kid had the ball, our kid chucked him. Yeah. And then, you know, we sat our kid down. Like, hey, you know.

That's not right. That's not right. You can't do it. But, you know.

Nice job. Good job. I mean, once I understood, like, the backlog of it, I was like, yeah, fucking A, man. Fuck that kid.

Right. You hit a harder next time. So, he hits you, you hit him back. Okay, whatever.

We're good. We'll take the penalty for that. No problem. But like, um, sure.

Don't let them fuck with you. But, uh, it's just important to be a good coach. You know what I mean? Oh, yeah.

Look at the camera and do that again. It's just important to be a good coach. I see too many coaches, especially in my, in Jax's league, where shit goes sideways. Maybe a call is in question.

Your hand's black in your face. Shit goes, shit goes, you know, sideways. Maybe a call didn't go their way. Maybe it was too close or whatever the case may be.

And they throw these temper tantrums, man. There's this one coach. I've seen him throw cones. I've seen them throw.

Wow. I've seen them throw refs flags. And I'm like, that isn't the kind of person that I want to stick my kids around. Wow.

Yeah. And it's worse. I think he's like a pastor or something. Damn it.

Like God soldiers. What are you teaching, man? What are you? It's okay to be upset.

I don't care if you yell or whatever the case may be, but... He might be with the cone, but for God's sakes, man, you know, like you're, you're not, you're here to teach these kids fundamentals of football and obviously you want to win. God damn it, kids, get the, get your ass in the game! You're gonna go to hell if you miss that ball again!

Yeah, man, but Jax has had some, they've had some really close games and they're, and they're undefeated right now going into the tournament, so. Tournament? Be nice to see them win. They work hard, they work really, really hard.

It's going to be really hard. Is there practice or just the games? This season they haven't practiced. They're going to practice this week.

But getting ready for the big game. Yeah. I mean, they've been pretty dialed in, man. They've been pretty dialed in.

These kids, they work their asses off, you know, and they're all encouraging each other. You know, it's a good team. It's a very good team. And then Sunday we did like a little party thing for one of Jack's friends.

He had like communion and stuff. He got the whole, he got like the package deal. The package. The bath, the cracker, the whole thing.

You got the whole thing, yeah, it's a little trifecta action, so they did a little party for him, we got to hang out with some parents and stuff, and we had a good time, man, it was fun. I went down, they had like a big inflatable slip and slide, of course I went down it, of course I egged an additional parent going down with like racing me. Oh, nice. You know, I'm that dad.

You're that dad, yeah. When did you do the park? Oh, that was when, was that? The park, we snuck away on the weekday.

Oh, that's right, it was a weekday. Yeah, so we did a little, we, we, we, it was, I came to work that day. We went when, right, right after Universal opened. Oh, you went early in the morning?

Yeah. Oh. We dropped off the kids. And then we went and we did the VelociCoaster with the Manny.

Right. Brittany was terrified. I put the image up on my Facebook page. Yeah, she didn't like that at all.

No, she's been on it before. She knew what she was getting herself into. She's, but she was, she committed when she was, you know, a little, a little tipsy. That early in the morning?

No, no, this is, she said, I will go and do it with you guys. Oh, she committed when she was tipsy. She wasn't tipsy when she got on. Yeah, no, no.

Oh, why didn't she just back out? I don't know. Because Brian was leaving. Yeah, because she didn't like that.

Because the man he was leaving. So now I'm wondering, she's like, I'll never run it again. I'm like, I don't know, I feel like challenge accepted. I feel like you could do it one more time.

But now I got to take Papa Palmer on there. I'll go on it. It's just a roller coaster. Yeah, you've been on a roller coaster.

Worst case, you could die. You said that, right. I mean, exactly. That's exactly my point.

That's the worst case. Worst case, I mean, they check in for safety and stuff, so you can bounce around a little, what's a three-minute ride? I never put my hands down on that ride. Oh, well, I don't know about that, but, you know, yeah, so you said that you did, uh oh, so you said that you did those, that ride with, um, with all, with your dad, you used to do a ride all over?

We used to do the roller coasters all over thing, from, uh, the little, the big wooden one at Circus World, which you might not be familiar with, who do we need to take a phone call? No, I got the missus here. Do we need to take a break? Yeah, pause real quick.

All right, we'll be right back. Okay, and we're back! And we're back! Cigar Hustler Podcast, blah, blah, blah, 225, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Um, yeah, so, so you would go on the rides with your dad? Yeah, we did all that stuff when I was a kid. So now I will be your father, Michael. I'll be your father, Michael.

I'll be your father. I'll be your father. I'll ride on your roller coasters with you. Okay, whatever you want to do, Michael.

Whatever you want to do, Michael. I don't know. Sensitive. I mean, did they re-change it completely from, it used to be the Dueling Dragons.

That's gone. No, but that's where it was. No. Velocicoaster?

Or was that over in the other... No, Hagrid's roller coaster is now where... You sure? Yes.

Oh, yes. Because there's dragons... Oh, you're probably right because there's supposed to be something with dragons still on it from the old ride. On Hagrid's?

Yeah. Maybe. Like near the beginning, it's supposed to be a sign or something. Maybe.

Oh. That would make sense. That makes sense, but usually the Hagrid wait is usually tremendously long. Right, yeah.

Velocico's is more intense and it's like a better operating system. So like when we were waiting in the queue, all of a sudden you heard there are three Raptors in the cage now. So like they added another... Track?

Rollercoaster. Rollercoaster? Yeah. To fucking get the line moving.

Line moving fast. So we waited like 20 minutes. Oh, that's not bad. Yeah.

Even with the Express? They don't have Express on that ride. Oh, no matter what time of day it is? Not on Hagrid's, not on Veloccoaster.

Oh, really? Wow, that seems wrong. Well, it's a brand new ride. That's true.

They give everybody a chance, Michael. Our camera guy's not here today, so... No, we're doing fine. I mean, I run the cameras on the other show without him.

That way I get it to move when I want it to move. I'm just trying to lessen your responsibilities, Michael. That makes it worse, because then there's more editing. You ready?

We're gonna do the news. What did you do this weekend? Nothing? Well, my son was here, Jake was here, so Saturday he got his first tattoo.

Oh. When I saw Ron, it's a sacrament tattoo in Lakeland. Nice. Jake got his first, he got a fireman tattoo.

Oh. Did you put your name on him? No. No name.

Ron's very quick and very good. We had planned, because Jake never got one before, obviously, we had planned for four hours. It's a pretty good sized tattoo, I mean, it's top of the shoulder, right to the shirt line, we allowed for four hours, he was done in like an hour and 45 minutes, he's been doing tattoos since 1991, there's no fucking around, it's a long time, and smiley face for everybody, yeah, smiley face, done, thank you very much, where's the memory? I really want an eagle, how's a stick figure sound?

Stick figure eagle, he does that old school style, so he did a good job, Jake was happy with it, so that's all that counts. Sunday, we did yard work. We just got the new screen room. Thanks, American Property Solutions, 829-837-9245, 386-837-924, American Property Solutions.

Ader made like a patio thing that goes from the new screen room over to the bar and lava rocks and sod. You're doing a great job, you know, improving that rental property. That was a hell of a deal in the screen room. I couldn't pass it up.

Look at you. It actually came down from someone else's house. Oh. Because the man was putting in a pool enclosure, so he needed, like, mine's got that little L-shape.

Right. He took his L-shape out to make it bigger with the pool. Oh, this was like a salvage material thing. Right.

But ours was a little smaller than his, so little trim up here and there, boop, boop, good to go. Good to go. We're in business. We're in business.

Really just paid for installation. Nice. Yeah, can't pass that kind of stuff up. No, not at all.

Right. I wonder if you can find a pool for me? Ask, maybe you can find a pool. You got an in-ground pool?

Right, you got an in-ground pool you have to move? Some kind of concrete you can move, yeah. Maybe a fiberglass? No, I don't want that.

I don't want that in my life. You take what you can get. You don't have a thing in the backyard. You have to be a small one.

Yeah, it's true. Or a weird shape. I wonder if you can find a house for me. You can do a kidney going around that corner.

You think you can find a house? There's no one here. Nobody here. There's a big one.

He does do houses that people just abandoned. There's a big one. But usually someone's bought it, though. All right.

All right. Here we go. From the four corners of the world, all the cigar industry news you could possibly need, the Cigar Hustler Podcast Report with Mike Toon. Jennifer Grove takes over as TAA president.

Oh, this is a big chance, Michael, to become members. Okay. She might get confused in the shuffle. Okay.

Had we not done the show earlier, she was going to call today. Damn. Jennifer Grove Metro Cigars in Germantown, Wisconsin, is the new president of the Tobacco Association of America. Grove's tenure formally began at the end of last month when she took over for Joe Arudel, Arudel, A-R-U-N-D-E-L, of Rain City Cigars in Seattle.

Oh, Rain. Wisconsin, Seattle, TAA, like a north-western? Wisconsin, Seattle? No, no, she's from Seattle, this man's from Wisconsin.

Oh. No, wait, Rain is from Seattle, she's from Wisconsin. Yeah. That's what it is.

The TAA is a group of some of the country's top tobacconists, about 80 retailers as well—we're a tobacconist and a retailer—I love how they—yeah, go ahead, go ahead, talk them up—about 80 retailers as well as 40 or so manufacturers. The association gathers annually to discuss issues facing the industry and retailers as well to have a Daniel Trade Show using a show, a unique event that works on a group-buying format in order to secure exclusive deals for these generally high-volume merchants. Its Board of Directors is made up of large, largely of retail store owners who are also members. Yeah.

Yep. Those who volunteer to serve on the TAA Executive Committee serve 10 year commitments. The dream machine. That's a long time, 10 years.

You must devote 10 years, one decade. Two years in each position in the committee. The new Executive Committee as follows. Yes.

Jennifer Groh is the president. Julie Newman is the first vice president. Oh, they have more than one. Marvin Holfenhauser.

Holfenhauser. Oh, Marvin, our friend Marvin from Harbour Cigars. Yeah. Yeah.

He is second vice president. Oh. So if the first president dies, the first vice president dies, Marvin's in charge. I figure we have a chance of getting in at that point.

Marvin likes us. Yeah, Marvin likes us. Marvin's a good guy. Steve Castro is the treasurer.

You know, I've never asked him. I bet you I could ask him and say, hey, make me a TAA member. He'd probably be like, fuck you. I'm just kidding.

He might be, you know. He might go, okay, fine. All right. Sure.

You're in. I bless thee. Castiano is the newest member of the executive committee and will work his way up the list of positions. Oh, so everybody gets to be president over the 10 years.

So two, four, six, eight, ten. Right, there's five of them. Everybody gets two years. There you go.

Oh, so Marvin must be four years of being president. Oh, my goodness. So we just got to hold on for four years. Four more years.

Four more years. Four more years. Let's see. In addition, TAA has six-member general board, which is a three-year commitment.

Two members have been added to that board: Jorge Ahud of Stogie's World Class Cigars in Houston, and Rene Silverman of Smokers Friendly in Newcastle, Pennsylvania. Okay. Finally, Corey Apart, CEO of Oliva Cigars, his name, association, advisory member, one of two manufacturer representatives to advise the TAA board. Did your can leak it?

You just leaked on the table. There's a little... We can be, we can make it as a manufacturer, a retailer, or... What do you want us to be?

You know, media. What do you want? Oh, yeah, there's no media members. We can do all of it.

We can do all of it. You know, there's probably no media members for a reason. There's a seance. I heard about the seance.

Yeah, they all wear hoods, and... You see, Wes did the post of... Wes from Crown Heads, he did a post about, oh, these are, this is a donkey of this TAA, and this is a donkey of this TAA, or something like that. And I'm like, oh, do you guys, is that the sacrificial donkey at the end, or?

Oh, no, I didn't see that. I'm sure it was very funny. It was good for me. You know, as long as I can make myself laugh, that's really all I give a shit about.

That's all you care about? That's good. That's a good attitude to have, Michael. It's all about the you.

Yeah. And I made myself laugh. That's all it counts, apparently. And then Wes said yes.

Oh, good. There you go. A new batch of VI hate zombies arrive at retailers. Yep.

I understand those are gone here. Gone. Oh, wait, this must be an old story. Goodbye, Viaje.

Alongside the recent release, Viaje's Zombie Super Shot and Zombie Peppers. Peppers. It has come to light that Viaje also shipped the latest installment of Zombie Line, the Zombie Green and Zombie Red. You, you...

I didn't even see those, we don't... Yeah, we just got the Super Shot Zombies, uh, we got the Super Shot and the Peppers? The Green Pepper, the Red Pepper, the Black Pepper... The Green Pepper and the Red Pepper, the two, oh, did we get no Turquoise Pepper?

No Turquoise Pepper, I'm just saying, you guys are missing out on an opportunity here. Everybody went to Turquoise Pepper. Turquoise Pepper. Very rare.

While a representative of the company declined to comment on the cigars, they have not been featured on the company's social media channels. Several retailers have begun listing them for sale. Yeah, because Andre doesn't give a fuck. Because they come in, they go out.

He's like, "Okay, comment? " I'm good. Yeah, no, nothing. According to those listings information provided at Half Wheel, the Zombie Green once again featured a Corojo rapper.

Corojo. While the Zombie Red returns with a small Maduro rapper. It's Maduro. Both measure 5x52, and are believed to maintain the perfecto vitola of previous releases.

It's Maduro. 10 per cigar, coming to 20 count bucks. Maduro what? Maduro?

Maduro. Broadleaf Maduro? No, Maduro. Oh, just Maduro, man.

The Zombie Series launched in 2011 and since it's expanded into numerous line extensions, such as the Zombie Antidote and the Zombie Biohazard. Uh-huh. This is often meshed with one of the lines in the company's portfolio to create cigars like the Thanksgiving And we've been a zombie farmer Bill Hatchett. Yep, yep, yep.

A lot of zombies. The zombie, all the zombie shit sells, man. It's all gone. It's in and out.

I love it. Boop. I love it. Boop.

Oh, this is also, today's the anniversary of when we did that event with Voyage. Oh, you did? No, we did. I did?

We went up into Georgia. Oh. With Adam. At the foundation.

Yeah, with Adam. Yeah, with Adam and La Haro, Tobacco. La Haro, yes, yes. Yeah.

But he was with formerly of Romacraft at that time. He was with Romacraft at that time. So it wasn't a voyage event. No, no, I just didn't want to say his name.

Gotcha. And that leads us into the next story, Michael. Oh. Ventura Cigar Company, Cigars for Warriors, team up for the operator.

Okay. Ventura... That was the guy... Okay.

The newest size of Ventura Cigars Company, the operator line, His collaboration with Operation Cigars for Warriors, shows a big supporter of Cigars for Warriors. Next month, Ventura will release Slaughterhouse The Operator, a new limited edition 6x50 Toro that is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobaccos. This is not only a different blend compared to the original Slaughterhouse line, but it's also made at a different factory. I heard they had to close the other factory.

They didn't have money. The Operator is made at Plasencia Cigars with the Argo Industrial, Nicaragua Wiss, The Tobacco Wiss, The Regular Slaughterhouse. Why haven't you invited us on your shows? Why?

Because we're going to piss everybody off? It will have been a MSRP of $5 per cigar, limited to 1,300 bundles of 10 cigars. Notably, the cigars will be offered to stores that are approved as Donation Center for Cigars for Warriors. Are we an approved cigar rumors?

I believe we are. Are we? I haven't talked to them lately. I got a whole bin of cigars I got to give to them.

Somebody's got to come get them. We should ship them or whatever. They usually have somebody come around. No, but you know what's really kind of fucked is one of the people over at that place.

That thing. Over by the thing. It's just all rumors. But I'll say it anyways.

Sure. Allegedly. What's the place? Roz's place.

Roz? Roz's. Yeah, apparently one of the guys was talking shit about He's been talking shit about our brand and Roma and the whole thing. The one that worked there?

Yeah. There's only one guy that works there. No, I called him. It wasn't him.

Oh, okay. I like Bob. Yeah. He's always there.

I like Robert. Yeah, he's a good guy. I didn't know he had anybody else. " Like, that's kind of fucked up, but whatever.

Who was the information from? Uh... Was it the large, slender, gold, blueberry farmer guy? Yeah.

Ah, you gotta take that with a grain of salt. That guy's pretty reliable. He likes to make shit up. - Do you think so?

- Yes. - I don't know. - Well, but he does have a very loose mouth, so if you hear something, he knows everybody, so... - Well, yeah, you know, he comes back with some facts sometimes.

- Yeah. - No, he's an avid listener, so I'm looking forward to hearing him... - No, his father is, though. His father loves the BDP.

- Yeah, it's a great cigar. - It is, yes. He was in the other day, and he said his father wanted me to know he really likes this cigar. - His dad's a good guy.

- He is, I like his dad. Let's see. 100% of the proceeds were donated to Cigars for Warriors. Cigars for Warriors is a really special organization, said Benjamin Winnicore, brand manager for Ventura Cigars.

I'm sorry, I've never met the man. I've never heard him. I don't know his voice, so I can't do. Boo.

Guess. I like it when you guess. Benjamin Winnicore. Yeah, Benjamin, what's he sound like?

I have no idea. Let's just figure that it's broken English. Let's see that he's, you know, I don't know. Broken English?

He's uneducated. No, not uneducated, just why? I speak broken Spanish, am I uneducated? This is not my primary language.

Well, he sounds American, Benjamin. Brand manager, so he's not actually the owner. Okay, so he's not, he's not. Okay.

He's like a salesman. He's like their Fred Rui. Probably run into a PCA, like you fuckers. Kick all your asses.

I am educated. Presented itself, it was a no-brainer, Ventura Cigar, who said it will begin shipping the operator next month. There you go. The first PCA news, Michael, has broken.

Oh. And it's not good news. It's not good news? No.

Tell me. Blackbird Cigar Company is pulling out of the PCA. Oh. Because they're factory.

Hold on one more time. Okay. Blackbird Cigar is pulling out the PCA, Michael. Oh.

Oh, no. Oh, no. The Blackbird Cigar Company, Dominican-based cigar manifestation, will not be exhibiting in the 20th century. They're going to be exhibiting the 2022 PCA Convention and Trade Show.

The company's decision is notably because it's currently listed as an exhibitor on the trade show's website. In a statement, the company indicated that the new factory in Dominican Republic and the logistics associated with transition from its old factory are the primary reasons for not exhibiting. Hmm. So they're moving.

Yeah, but I feel like you could have still done it. You know what I mean? Like, we're gonna go. That's why I told the story.

It's not a huge story. I mean, Blackbird's a, you know, small to medium-sized company. They're getting a lot of play in social media, the cigars well like nationally or whatever. You could have showed up.

This is April and the show's in July. Look man, you know. Grab an extra couple of boxes, throw them in your suitcase and bring them to the show. Yeah, I mean, you know, we're not going fucking balls deep in this PCA, but we're going to be there.

We're going to have a table. We're going to be posted next to a column, which I'm really looking forward to. Oh, a column. But you know what?

Here's the deal. We're going to go. Yes. We're going to be there.

We're going to be represented. Yes. We're gonna sit back and have a good fucking time. Right, then we're gonna return all the furniture like Aldo.

That's a great technique. No, you know, but we'll have like a little table and chairs, we'll have a couple pop-up flags, whatever. We'll smoke, we'll bullshit with everybody. Like that's really what PCA is kind of about.

Oh, and then the first appearance, Mrs. BDP is going to be at the show. Oh, yes, that's right. Andrea and Palmer will make her first PCA appearance.

I think that's when she really hates us. Right, then she goes, I'm never going to this again, never gonna happen. Or she's drunk the whole time going, "This is great! I hate all of you!

" The problem with being drunk all the time is you eventually have to come down. Oh, it's only three days. My money's on her. Oh, you know better than I do.

The 2022 PCA Convention Trade Show takes place July 9th through the 12th in Las Vegas. That's four days. That's very hot. Well, yeah, but I mean, she won't be drunk when we land.

Well, then what kind of party is it? It's a set-up day. She'll get drunk. It's a set-up day.

It's a setup day. It's a setup day. You've got to get supplies together. Well, then you've got to arrive on the 8th.

Well, no. Now it's 5 days. If it starts on the 9th. We're going in on the 9th.

Are we? I believe so. Are you sure? I'm almost positive.

Hmm. All right, Michael. Fine. Oh, no.

We have this. We have one more industry story, and then we have a Florida story. Okay. Our shows are more like a 45-minute-ish show, so.

45 to an hour. 45 to an hour. Try and cut the other show down to an hour. It's an hour and a half.

That's too long. Yeah, it was an hour and 15 last week. All right, the reason I, last week on, oh, we can't even say, can we? Oh, I figured out what I smoked last week on a Patreon.

Oh, you did? Yes. Okay, what did you smoke? Because somebody asked, Kyle Hefflinger.

The Undercrown Maduro Corona Piqua. Okay, well, we kind of nailed that. It looked like it in the photo. Right.

I mean, it doesn't show up well, it's just black. Oh, yeah, I know. But in the photo from Half Wheel, it looked just like it. Let me see what, let me see the words, 'cause you called it Piqua.

Piqua. Piqua. Piqua. Piqua.

The Piqua. The Piqua. The Piqua. I'm hoping Matt Tyrone runs off the road this time.

Matt's driving to a ditch port. At the 2020 Tobacco Plus Expo, Drew Estate released a new size of Underground Maduro and Underground Shade Lines, a 4x44 short Corona. Oh. Could have been.

And it's very brown. Hmm. Very possible. It's not an already empty the ostrex.

This is gone. Called the Corona Piqua. The Piqua. Piquana, what did you say it was?

Piqueña. I like Piqua. The shortest length in the Coronet, a 4x32 Vitola, like the rest of the line, uses a Mexican San Andres wrapper over Connecticut's stock cut habano binder and fillers from Brazil and Nicaragua for the Maduro. The shade uses an Ecuador and Connecticut shade wrapper over Sumatra binder and Dominican Nicaragua fillers.

Sounds exactly like what I was smoking. Mm-hmm. Are you looking it up? No, I have a Florida story that I'm...

Oh, you have a Florida story too? From Brett Frye, yeah. Oh, I hope it's not, oh, from, from Bert. From, from Brent.

All right, Michael, a Florida man is accused of urinating on a case of beer inside a store. Oh, boy. Accused. Accused, alleged.

So we can't prove it. Alleged. A Florida man is facing charges for allegedly urinating on several cases of beer inside a store, according to WKMG. That's a shitty thing to do.

Rockledge, no, it's a pissy thing to do. That's a pissy thing to do. He was very pissy mode. I'm very pissy.

Rockledge police responded to the Hop & Pop convenience store at Easter Boulevard at April 16th, an arrested affidavit says a 61-year-old man walked into the store and tried entering the restroom, but it was locked. That's when the man allegedly approached the store's beer cave, unzipped his pants, and started urinating on several cases of beer, according to police. The store owner told cops six cases of beer worth $113 were left damaged and unable to be sold. The unexpected moment was also caught on the store's surveillance camera along with the man's license plate, authority said.

Officers contacted the man on Wednesday and arrested him on a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief. Wow, poor guy. The bathroom was full. He had to pee.

It was only $113. Did he piss on the Bud Light? No one will know. Yeah.

I mean, I just paid for him and left. Yeah. Eh, I pissed on this. What's Bart's story?

Let's see, Brent, let's see what you got here. Okay, this is a good one. I don't know how you did that. You know, we decided on the other show, I should have done it here too, like your camera is going to go here, and my camera is going to go there.

That way, because, you know, you have it of looking at the person. Right. Right, so I need to switch these two. That makes sense.

Like over there? Well, your camera... Camera one, camera two. Yeah, it could sort of be over here looking that way, and then yours.

See, there's no way to get behind you. Maybe I'll put mine right over there. Anyway, go ahead. What's Bart's story?

S. nuke to power his home for more than 27 years. Is he going to do it? Oh, yeah.

Please, read on. S. nuke to power his home for more than 27 years is flowing on the internet without the full information on it. S.

for over two decades without the knowledge of the government. As the people on the internet get intrigued to know what happened, here, we try to dissect the recent news and available information on the lost nuclear powers. Let's see. The instances where the military has lost its nukes and never got used, as well as found in the USA.

S. lost its nuclear power and out of that four of them disappeared forever. According to the article, the last one was in 1968 when the sinking of the USS Scorpion happened. It was said to be quite challenging as the boat tried to follow the Russian research group.

However, it got relocated in the October of the same year, but was badly damaged. As per recent, as per the recent internet concern, a Florida man used a lost nuke for powering his house for over 27 years, without informing the authorities about its whereabouts, the internet is still clueless about the exact incident, and the name of the man, but different theories are being put up regarding the possibilities, the official news on it's yet to come out, and the curious, Neitzens, will have to wait a little more for the final confirmation on the news, that can't be real. So a dude allegedly stole a fucking nuke and powered his house for almost three decades. How would he know how to hook it up without it exploding?

Dude, I have no idea. I have no idea. They need to hire this man, not put him in jail. But Bart, as this kind of develops, I'm going to need more intel.

Yes, Bart, you need to follow the story. That's what happens now, Bart. Because now you're committed. Now you're engaged.

Yeah, now that you're a media person. Now, you're our only boot on the ground as far as . . That's right.

So, we'll need updates for the next week's show. We should actually, you know what? If he gets an update on it, we have him call in. Oh, with his own story.

And he says, "Hey," this is, you know, so he can get a little play time, he can get a little interaction. A little microphone time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We totally do that.

Oh, certainly. So. . All right, Bart, good deal.

Get to work. All right, you got anything else? Oh, we need a Listener of the Week, Michael. Who's our Listener of the Week?

First, I need a Shop of the Week. I don't have a Listener of the Week. Oh, Shop of the Week. Oh, I have a Listener of the Week.

Okay. Listener of the Week. Daddy Doyle. Dad.

Big fan of the BDP Cigar. Dad. Yeah, he likes the BDP. He deserves another shoutout.

100%. And... Oh. I'll tell you that.

Go ahead. No, no, I'll tell you later. No, I'll tell you later. No, I'll tell you later.

I'll tell you later. I'll tell you later. And I'm going to tell you the Shop of the Week. All right, what's the Shop of the Week, Michael?

Because I have one if you don't. Then I'll give it to you. Oh, Shop of the Week, Black Iris Cigars. Black Iris.

Iris? Yeah. Oh, Black Iris Cigars. Oh, really hammering home that BDP.

Hammering, yep, yep. First shop to do a reorder. Reorder on the BDP. See, it's all it takes to get Shop of the Week, just reorder.

Just a little reorder. Just a little reorder. Just a little. Jeff Mouté's ready.

Oh, Riverside Cigars. Riverside might be next week's. Who knows? Could be you.

Could be you. Get those orders in, because they are almost gone. Absolutely. All right.

All right, this has been episode 225 of the Cigar Hustler podcast. All right, Michael, look at your camera and say goodbye. Thank you for listening and watching, and we look forward to you listening and watching again next week. What did he say?

All right, guys, bye, we gotta go. Goodbye. That's got to be Boots of that deep voice. " Don't pay attention to libel, incite, or hurt anyone's feelings.

We invite you to write the show's host, Mike Szczefankewicz, with any feedback or suggestions that you have for their shows. These broadcasts are presented and made public as entertainment in the hope that they will be entertaining to the audience. This has been a Cigar Hustlers Podcast, a Mike and Mike Production. m.

for all new episodes. Hi, I'm doing, I'm Husto-E-Raw. Yeah, we just don't have to do a single, uh, single podcast ever again. Perfect.

I'm good, Mike and Mike. How are you guys doing? The Hojo, the... Hojo!

It's the Hojo! Demandre... You didn't even let him fuck it up all the way. I couldn't get past Hojo!

I don't even have to try to enter. He's not even going to try. We're going to cover a lot of ground here, Mike. All right.

Try to keep up. That's a sign of a good podcast. It'd be like four cigars when I walked in a door. All right, end this.
