Cigar Hustlers Podcast 232 Gator Country

Episode Summary
Episode 232 of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast opens with the hosts, Mike and Mike, introducing show sponsor Cigar Dagger — the cigar nubber/punch company known for its sculpted skull, dragon, lion and gun-motif heads — before drifting into a very Florida round of banter: a St. Pete anniversary weekend (and the disappointment of learning the upside-down pyramid pier building was demolished in 2015), a kid's birthday party with a live lion and tiger, the shop's silverback gorilla mascot and bobbleheads returning from a trip to Honduras, and a check-in on friend Robbie Doyle, who was hospitalized after a hit-and-run. They also tease an upcoming Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Rock, Paper, Scissors event at Cigar Hustler, complete with proposed tortilla-and-water and "Rock, Paper, Taser" upgrades.
The bulk of the episode is the Cigar Hustler Podcast Report news segment, heavy on PCA 2022 trade show announcements. Stories include Casa Cuevas promoting Alex Cuevas to director of brand development (with a tangent on family-owned brands making the next generation start as sales reps, like Tony Gomez at La Flor Dominicana); Noel Rojas releasing the third KSG (King of the Small Gauge) installment, a 6 1/4 x 42 Lonsdale with an Ecuadorian wrapper and Nicaraguan binder/filler built around Somoto-region tobacco, limited to 1,000 boxes of 10 at $14 per cigar; ATL Cigar Company moving Atlanta Black production to Tabacalera Pichardo with Luciano Meirelles of Ace Prime; and Foundation Cigar Company adding a 4 3/4 x 60 Macho Raton perfecto to Wiseman and El Güegüense at $14.
They also cover the Illusione x Excalibur collaboration between Dion Giolito and General Cigar/STG (blended with Justin Andrews, a 7 1/4 x 54 made of all-Nicaraguan tobacco at roughly $19.99, limited to 4,960 boxes) — which prompts a story about a disastrous first-ever trade show encounter with Dion and broker Pete Hernandez. Additional news: Rocky Patel teasing The Edge 20th Anniversary with a 10-year-old Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper; the end of the Hiram & Solomon / Blanco Cigars fulfillment relationship; Crowned Heads scheduling the all-Nicaraguan, Corojo 99-wrapped Las Calaveras 2022 for July out of My Father Cigars; a Blackbird Cigar Co. price increase averaging 8.25%; and the new CRA Freedom Sampler with sticks from Alec Bradley, Casa Fuente, Diamond Crown, Oliva, Padrón, Rocky Patel and more at $149.
The show closes with the obligatory Florida-man story — a man near North Port bitten by a seven-foot alligator after mistaking it for a dog on a long leash — and a public-service reminder to tourists to stay off lake and canal shorelines at dawn and dusk.

What? Yes, yes. Oh God, here comes the fuckery. No, no, no, no.
Go ahead, bring it on. Cigar Dagger is our sponsor for today's episode. Cigar Dagger is a functional and beautifully designed cigar number. Cigar Dagger did such a great job at reinventing the cigar number that it has become synonymous with the object it represents.
Cigar Dagger, here Michael, I have one for you. Oh. Cigar Dagger was also the very first company to make cigar numbers and heads from cigar smoking skulls to dragons, kings, lions, and everything in between. The addition of heads imbued cigar dagger creations with the identity and character of elevating the - what?
What's going to be in this? Oh, actually, actually, it's very nice. Is it? Yeah, yeah.
It's not going to be like a princess or something? No, no, no, no. It's very nice. Okay.
I have pictures that I'll overlay, and I'll - okay. I took some nice shots on them. In addition to the extensive line of cigar numbers, the Cigar Dagger store also carries a stunning collection of cigar accessories. I like how I actually have a hat too, a very nice hat.
I like how I've turned into the Silverback Gorilla. Yes, you're welcome, your Silverback Gorilla. I prefer that over, like, the lines just so played out. You know, like, the lines just so played out.
You know, like, the lines just so played out. I like how I actually have a hat too, a very nice hat. I like how I've turned into the Silverback Gorilla. Yes, you're welcome, your Silverback Gorilla.
I prefer that over, like, the lines just so played out. You know, I like how I've turned into the Silverback Gorilla. I like how I've turned into the Silverback Gorilla. Yes, you're welcome, your Silverback Gorilla.
over like the lines just so played out you know what i mean right so you know this is lovely and then they sent me i have how'd you do that what'd you get oh i have a uh skull and uh gun oh look at you i'm over here uh these these are we have some lovely photos that were taken by our crack staff all right hey cigar dagger these are obviously you know when you're smoking you get down in the nub uh you pop up up inside your cigar which you can do when you get down that far Very nice. So yes, we thank you for the people at Cigar Dagger. Very nice. A little present, huh?
Yes, yes. Gifty for the show. A little gifty for the show. Hmm.
Okay, well, let's talk about hats on the table, because I know that you want it here. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. But you know how I feel about that. Can I put it on the monkey?
Sure. The gorilla, sorry. The gorilla. It's a silverback.
Silverback, red gorilla. Which thankfully has been returned to us. Yes, yes. Yes, yes, with his passport, uh, our, uh, uh, where are we at?
Where are we here? Anyone who, uh, didn't, uh, see the post, our, uh, bobbleheads and the silverback made a trip to Honduras. Have been returned. They have been returned, but they were on, uh, vacation, supposedly.
They all have their own little, over here, they all have their own little passports. He was in Honduras. It's just a matter of time before you no longer have to tell Phil, hey, hit this button. Right?
Right. Figure, you know, maybe. He'll figure it out eventually. Another 20, 30, 40, 100 episodes or so, and it'll be dialed in.
He's shaking his head no. No. He can talk this week, though. Say hi, Phil.
Hello, people. Okay, that's enough. Yep. So we took a little weekend to St.
Pete. Yeah, yeah, I saw that, you know. You know, I've always wanted to see that building on the pier in St. Pete, the upside down pyramid building.
Okay, I have no idea about it. Oh, you haven't seen it? No. Well, it's right here.
Okay. It's been there since 1974. So I've never been, we've never been in St. Pete where I've actually, you know, had a little holiday or something.
Okay. So the last night we go to. No, I'm sorry. Which way is St.
Pete? Is it right or left? St. Pete is west.
West coast. Clearwater, St. Pete. South of Clearwater.
Okay. You know that little piece of land that comes down like this? Yeah. That little notch down to St.
Pete. Okay. But this thing has been there since 1974. So I've seen it growing up.
Never been there. So I wanted to go. Yeah. So I Google it, find out where it is, and we go, it's not there no more.
They get rid of it. In 2015, they tore it down. This is why I've never seen it. Well, yeah, you're right.
Never even heard of it. Right. Yeah, so we walked all the way to the end, I'm standing there, she goes, there it is, and I'm like, that's not it. This is a building.
This is not an upside down building. This is not, no. That's like a little restaurant, bar. They tore it down.
Yeah, back in, so I Googled it, we got back to the hotel, and I'm like, oh, here's a video of them tearing it down, 2015. Those rat bastards. Right. It's terribly upsetting.
But St. Pete's got two sides that are in the water. One side goes to the Gulf, and one side goes to the Bay. So we did one day on the Gulf side at the beach in the little beachy restaurants and bars and stuff.
Second day we went downtown St. Pete and we did all the fancy shops and the restaurants and on the bay side. Nice! We had a nice little trip.
It was for our anniversary. Now our actual anniversary is this coming weekend. But you take the time when you have the time to go away. What are you doing next this upcoming weekend?
We have family in town. Our nephew and his lovely wife and their two children are at Disney currently. So we're getting updates about the heat. Are you going to Disney?
No, no, they're doing four days at Disney and then they come spend the week in our house. Ah, are you going to get the inflatable pool out? No, we don't have any more because now we have sod at the backyard. And now the pool's gone.
Well, the pool always dies every year. It does. Yeah, it dies every year. She was looking at a new pool and I'm like, we have $300 worth of sod in the backyard.
What are you killing? Because the pool kills the grass. I thought you were getting a pool made out of a door. Oh, that's not done yet.
not done yet. A door-shaped pool on the side. There's plenty of room over there. Yeah.
We're not at that point yet, but we're working on it, though. Okay. Very nice. Very nice.
Look at you. What did you do? How the fuck should I know? I don't know what I'm doing.
I'll tell you what I did. I'll tell you what I did. I had a birthday party for Justice's friend, Bo, a kid he goes to school with. Yeah.
Or not school. He plays football with. Yes. Oh, because Brittany throws the best birthday parties.
Brittany does throw really good. Yeah. Adrian has requested a Britney birthday party this year. You know, I mean, the thought process is kind of, it's insane.
I mean, living it, it's because, you know, there's always some kind of themed thank you things with her that she has interlaced and like it's, you know. What was Bo's party thing? It's mind boggling. I don't, you know what, it was kind of, it was just kind of like a water party, like pool party.
Oh, so you have an inflatable pool. I know, I was at their house. Oh, oh, I thought you threw the party at your house. No, why would I throw the party at my house?
Surprise! That's crazy. Bow party! No, they had the inflatable slides and stuff like that.
And they had a lion and a tiger there. A real lion and a tiger? Oh, yeah. A real lion and a tiger.
Wow. Yeah. It's gonna be rough when the kids step out, where's that gorilla daddy? You know what I said?
I actually made that comment to Bo's dad. I said, you know, at seven, the next, next age, you really need to step it up and throw a silverback in here. Oh, you know, but, um, it's a So the kid's seven? He's six.
Six? Yeah. Did he just turn six? He did like a combined party, like, because I guess the kids are born around the same time.
He's got a daughter, too, around the same time. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Yeah. Oh, different ages, similar days?
Yes. So they have sex at the same time every year? Yes, pretty much. Yeah, all right.
The moon is right. Right. Yeah. Calendar, honey.
Calendar's coming up. Look at this right here. Look, I have you scheduled in this appointment. I have you scheduled right here.
Right here. We're doing this. Right. So remember, so all the kids' birthdays are at the same time?
A little easy. We can just kind of massively handle this. They get their anniversary at the same time, too? Who knows?
If so, I'd love to meet this man and shake his hands. He's actually a really good guy. Everything at the same time. He's a really, really good guy.
He's the only guy that would thank me every single time at the football games. Oh, nice. And a lot of other parents thanked me. Right.
He did every time. If I do ever meet him, would you introduce him as the guy who schedules his sex? If you want me to, I have no problem with that. You know I have no problem with that.
No, that'd be great, right. Of course. This is a guy that schedules his sex we were talking about on the podcast. Yeah, remember the sex schedule?
Oh, yeah, the sex schedule. I'd like to shake your hand, sir. He's gonna be like, uh... When is the anniversary?
If it's the same time. Yeah, we have more questions. I'm gonna bow right here. We have more questions.
There is one of... He's curtsy. He's got... they had another kid, too.
He's smaller, though. He's like that little guy. I gotta figure out when his birthday is. It's not around the same time?
Maybe it's twice a year. Who knows? Oh, yeah. Maybe.
Maybe. So... Maybe that was the, uh, you know, we just got a little drunk that night. The oopsie daisy.
Oopsie. I don't like saying a kid's an oopsie. No, I don't. It doesn't strike.
They don't strike me as... Oopsie people? No. Well, obviously very scheduled.
Yeah. Dialed in. Right. Honey, no.
Sex is next week. Oh, sorry. Sorry, dear. Got a little ahead of myself.
I'm very sorry. I'll be in the shower, bye. I'll be in the shower? Like a cold shower?
Or like a... Systems might be going. I mean, maybe you have to... Take care of it.
You just finished that up there. Work that out. Right. And then I...
And the old silver bag gorilla. So there you go. What now? Sorry.
So it was a good birthday party. Oh, yeah. Well, it landed a tiger. I mean, that's just...
Did you get to pet them? No. No, they were too big. I wasn't, you know, we didn't get to stay long enough, unfortunately.
I had another commitment. Another birthday party? No, not another birthday party. Very busy man.
I got to hang out with the Baldwin's house. Oh! Yeah, floating pool with the kids and stuff. Did you drive around in the car?
What's that? What's that? Did you drive me around in the car? He drove me around the car?
He let me drive the car. Oh yeah, it's a beautiful car. The son's still not driving the car? No, no, no.
" Yeah, so we took the son to work. So we got a new little caddy. Wait, the son has a job? Yeah.
Where's he work at? Longhorn. Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah.
We're going to Longhorn. So he's kind of fit? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But he's rocking, like, the shmediums.
Like, super tight. Like, dude. Like, we need to go up to large here. Like, you need to upgrade.
Doing the shmediums. Yeah, medium's no bueno. No bueno. You know?
Like, I don't want to hear from you guys. This is an XL. Fuck off. They almost have a lion and a tiger at their house, too.
Oh, yeah? The dog. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yoshi.
I love Yoshi. You know, I named Yoshi. Did you? Yeah.
Really? Yes. When they got him, I was there, and we were all thinking of names. I came up with that when it was stuck.
Because of Bowser? Yes. Yeah, they were going with Bowser. They were going with Bowser.
There was something with the Bowser already. Bowser was the previous dog. Oh, okay. That's what it was.
Yeah, yeah. I remember there was something with Mario. We need something with Mario. Yoshi.
Yoshi. I love that dog. So I did that, and then we went to go see our dear friend, Robbie Doyle on Sunday. Oh, yeah, he's in the hospital.
Yeah, we had a buddy of ours. He was walking along the street, minding his own business, and a car decided to meet him. Oh, big car? You know, that's to be determined, you know, no one really knows.
Still, it was a hit-and-run or something, I heard. It was a hit-and-run, yeah, yeah. So, it looks like he's gonna be okay, but he's got a long road of recovery, so, yeah, me and Phil went. Yeah?
Oh, nice. Yeah, yeah, Phil took me, because you know I don't like to drive, I'm not a fan of that. Yeah, I didn't have to drive to or from St. Peter.
Wow, that's a big deal. I know. Holy shit. Oh, it's her new car.
She would don't trust you? I don't know, she just wanted to drive her own car. I was like, have a fine, goodnight. I mean, I'm trying to figure that, you know, this doesn't sound good, Mike.
This doesn't sound good. She seems a little more independent at this point. Oh, yeah, she's rolling in the new... She's got her own car, she can drive by herself.
She always had her own car, she just wanted a new one. You know, but she can drive by herself now, she don't need you. I don't know, she still gets lost. She still gets lost.
Why are people trying to call me? We handled all the craft sales. Yeah? Yeah, the craft came in, and I think everything's out.
I'm not 100% certain with that, but, you know, I think- I believe he told me there were, I asked him. I think all the crafts are out. I think we're all done. And he's working on the Shepherds, I believe.
Well, wholesale. Wholesale, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, so we got a lot going on at the shop, man. Yeah, very busy up there.
Very, super busy. Glad I'm done. How do you spell craft? How do you spell craft?
Uncle Skip's in town. Yeah, you see him, you know, the economy's so strong he's smoking two at a time. Yeah, I saw that, right. He's just smoking two fancy cigars and mandibles, you know, back to back.
And he has a frog that's a foot big or something. A frog? Yeah, he took a picture of a frog that scared him last night and he said it was bigger than his hand and at least a foot long. Frogs are scary.
Yeah, I don't know what's going on with this. I filled it up. I didn't get to adjust it. There's another one there.
Oh no. Use the cheaper one there. I'm like, oh no. You gotta take it apart to adjust things on that thing.
It's a process. Yeah, it's a process. Use the other one. Oh, they're no longer a sponsor anyway, so.
Right. I'll use this. There goes the table. This SC DuPont Far Superior lighter.
Oh, very nice. Extreme Double Flame. So what else? We have an event at the end of the month here at Cigar Hustler.
We're Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, Rock, Paper, Scissors. If you've seen the Rock, Paper, Scissors thing that's going on on TikTok, I'd send it to Greg. Okay, you take a mouthful of water and you get a tortilla, just a plain, undone tortilla. Okay, go on.
Then you rock, paper, scissor. We would rock, paper, scissor back and forth. Whoever wins, smacks the other one with the tortilla, and the one that spits out the water first loses. Wow.
I thought we should add that as like an extra... Other with the tortilla? Yeah, the tortilla and the water. I'll tell you what.
Let's do this. That's fine. I'm just going to spit in everybody's face. I don't know, when it gets down to the finals.
Oh. We throw a tortilla in. A tortilla in the spitting. We're like, okay, we're going to raise this up a notch now.
I think, you know, that's a really kind of funny part as a retailer is you really want to make things interesting. Right. I mean, rock, paper, scissors is okay, but... I think it's fun.
Man, you're with a tortilla and spitting on people. For me, the one event that we really haven't gone back to, which I really enjoyed, was the Egg Roulette. That was a long time ago. That was fun.
Yeah. Chris High won a TV or something, wasn't it? Maybe. Yeah.
I think we did a TV. Yeah. That was cool as shit. You know?
Yeah, but it's older. Maybe like a Taser or something. Ooh, Taser. Rock, Paper, Taser.
Rock, Paper, Taser. That would be nice. We're really up there. Phil's very excited about the Rock, Paper, Taser.
Yeah. I hope he loses. I hope he loses. I lose, bitch!
And you're out. Oh, damn. Phil pissed himself. Maybe if you lose, you could taste.
Yeah. Because if they already spit on you, you're covered in water. I mean, you know, the paperwork that we'd have to build, you know, the disclaimer. Yeah, Greg, we talked about tasers today.
Greg is still dead set against tasers because one in 50 people have a heart attack after their taste. And I just want you to know, 50 in 50 here would probably have a heart attack. Right. Yeah.
I told him, well, we'll just immediately only sign up 49 people. There you go. We're cap it at 49, and we're all good. Solid W.
That's right. No heart attacks. No heart attacks. It's that 50th guy.
We don't let JW play. No. No. JW cannot play.
There's a couple guys that can't play. Yeah, there'd be a couple that couldn't play. Yeah. Yeah.
Like, eh. Don't want you to. Leroy can play. He wouldn't even feel it.
Because he doesn't have a heart? No, because he's probably been shocked so many times, you know, for his career, building and fixing and repairing. Do you think that guy's been struck by lightning? Nah, I don't think so.
Nah. I don't think so. I get that vibe. Do you?
Yeah. Oh. I'm going to have to ask him. He's probably upstairs right now.
He's probably still there. He's probably still there drinking a beer. Like 1987, I was struck by lightning. Right.
Yeah, I mean, you know, it was kind of, look, you know, the past couple of weeks have been weird for me, without going into detail, but like, you know, and I've been trying to figure out. My time, which has definitely been a pain in the ass. Oh, yes. And I'm getting better, but at it.
However, it's, I think it feels to me right now, like it's one step forward and then like fucking three steps back. Oh, so yeah, you know, without, without kind of laying it in. Say that one more time. Go ahead.
It's like one step forward and three steps back. Like, Oh no. Oh no. But you know, I'm still probably, Pressing forward.
So the biggest problem in our industry, I think, is just this intrinsic apathy. That's probably what it is. That is true. There's a lot of intrinsic apathy.
You know, and there's some other remarkable things that are kind of going on on a retail level that we'll probably discuss more on the Patreon today. Oh, we're doing that today? Yeah, we need to. Oh, very excited.
We need to do that. Very excited. We're going to do two shows in the same day. We need to hammer that out.
Wow. So, yeah. That's, yeah. All right.
So, oh, you know what? - Oh, you know what, though? - What, what? - Do you think the Morrises will be excited to hear about Robby Doyle's fuckin'...
- What, are they not like Robby Doyle? - Yeah, Amanda gave him a fuckin' hard time, remember? - Oh, did she? - Oh, yeah.
- I didn't remember, and we didn't say who it was that you went to go visit, I don't think. - Did I not say? I said it was Robby Doyle. - Oh, did you say the name?
- Oh, okay, sorry, I didn't think we said the name. - Oh, yes. Oh, well, if I didn't, it's Robby Doyle. - Maybe, maybe, oh.
- It's Robby Doyle. - Dun, dun, dun. - So, you know. - Oh, maybe she'd be quite excited.
Yeah, she should send, like, flowers or something. Oh. Maybe she hit him. Is that Wobby?
Maybe she hit him, I don't know. If she was in town, she would be the one. I would be, I would have asked her first. Did you run over Robbie?
Where were you on this day at this time? Did you run over Robbie? And what kind of car did you have? Yeah.
Because Robbie's very tall. We have tread marks and we like to use as comparisons. Oh, he's so tall, he probably got hit by both tires, both sides. It's very possible.
Right. I mean, he would reach across the car. If it was me, one side or the other, but him. You know, like, the really scary part is, when shit like this happens, you start kind of, for one, thinking of things in life and stuff, and then, of course, Phil and I are walking back to the car, and we're like, man, you know, if that happened to us, I'd be like, you know what, if that happened to us, we'd probably total the vehicle, because we're about the same weight as Robbie, just smaller.
Right. It's a little more dense. Right. You know, so...
Maybe a little more bouncy, bouncy. There would be no hit and run. It'd be hit and totaled, you know, and we'd probably die, too. Probably stuck under there.
You might have maybe bounced. Maybe bounced? Maybe you just picked it up and threw it over you. No bueno.
No bueno? No bueno. Alright, well let's... Get out with the news?
Yeah, let's press forward. We're prepping for some PCA, getting excited. Some shit going down. From the four corners of the world, all the cigar industry news you could possibly need.
The Cigar Hustler Podcast Report, with Mike Toon. Casa Cuevas promotes Alex Cuevas to director of brand development. Very interesting. Casa Cuevas has announced that it has promoted Alex Cuevas to director of brand development, a position in which he will oversee the development of new blends for the Dominican cigar maker and his private label clients.
, who will continue to oversee the company's factory, Tablacarra Las Lavas, SLR, who will continue to oversee... Oh, wait, right there. Cuevas has most recently held the title of director of operations, a position he was appointed to January of 2020. With the change, Cuevas will be handing off the majority of office and warehouse responsibilities to another family member while spending more time traveling in support of Casa Cuevas events and the company's sales staff.
Nice. It's nice to keep it in the family there. It's promote from within the family. I mean, you know.
Hey, if I own a brand and the kids were all into it, sure, move the kids around. Eventually, we're going to have to take it over. You hope that eventually, you know, if the kids are, If you're intrigued enough in the industry, you know, you want to move, I mean, is it nepotism? I don't know.
But you know, it's not that, I mean, it's not like it's IBM. Yeah. I mean, his name is Cuevas. You got to teach him marketing.
Right. Like he's got to go through it all. Right. You see, basically, they're putting him in each position.
Did he do sales rep? I don't know. I didn't say. I mean, Tony Gomez, he was a sales rep.
The company said it will be unveiling a new project created by Alex Cuevas at the The upcoming PCA Convention and Trade Joe. Ooh. Oh, buy a box, get a bounce house? Could be, who knows?
Maybe. Everyone loves a bounce house. Maybe. R-O-J-A-S, Rojas?
Rojas. Rojas. Back to the Quavises? Yeah, well, so, Tony Gomez, Lito Gomez's son, LFT Cigars, when he started off and he decided he wanted to be in the business, Lito made him a fucking rep.
He would come around to us, and he was in Florida, he's like, hey, so, you know, yeah, I'm the rep of Florida, like, that was how we kind of started. Now, now he's in the DR. But, I mean, he made him fucking take his fucking lumps. Other than being a roller, I mean, that's pretty much.
You know, I would argue that sales rep probably sucks more than being a roller. Oh, I'm sure it does. Because you get to go to the same place as a roller, and you get to kind of do your job and leave, you know, whereas you go on a rep, you don't know who you're walking into, you catch some of these retailers and they're complete assholes. You're like, oh, yeah, fuck you.
Where's your product? Where's your dad? The daddy sends you hair. What are you doing?
Exactly. The whole thing. I don't like you. Right.
You're really fucking tall. I mean, like all. Have you changed the carpeting and anything in here recently? Right.
It's true, though. Right. So, I mean, you'll have to ask your friend, Cuevas, if you just kind of. Don't we see him.
I've never met. If you slid him in as marketing or if there was. Yeah, I've never met his son. We'll ask him.
He started off as car washer. Did you ever rep a car washer? Right. They need you to take care of the fleet.
Do you have a tobacco picker? A tobacco picker. Is that what they're called? I don't know what they're called.
Tobacco Harvester? A tobacco harvester. I don't know. You're a picker.
Picker? Picker doesn't sound right. Are you picking a tobacco? You need a tobacco picker.
Rojas Lonsdale to be released at PCA 2022. Oh, it's Rojas. Rojas. I like Rojas.
At the summer PCA convention trade show, Noel Rojas will release the third installment of his KS... Oh, I knew a Noel in high school, but it was a girl. I assumed it was a young lady. Listen, you know what?
This day and age, you don't know how anybody identifies. No, no, no, no. Wow. Don't get ahead of yourself.
Keeping with the line's name being an acronym for King of the Small Gauge, it's a six and a quarter by 42 Lonsdale. The blend uses an Ecuador and a band of wrapper, while binder and fillers come from Nicaragua with the blend built around tobaccos grown in the Somato region of Nicaragua. Somoto? Somoto?
Somoto. Somoto region of Nicaragua and Rojas. Purchased in 2019 and been saving for use throughout cigars in the KSG series. Samoto is one of the country's lesser known growing regions, about 55, I've never heard of it before.
I don't, I feel like that kind of dropped as... It's a small area, 55 miles northwest of Esseli, closer to border with Honduras, but one has been gaining increased in tension at recent years. PCA is doing this thing like, uh, press, no it wasn't, that was Toscano, did I? Yeah, yeah, it was Toscano.
Do you have to pay for those, I wonder? Of course, it says PCA 22 sponsored message. Oh, that one did, but they did, last week there was a press release from somebody. Is it the, oh, Toscano again, hold on, I'll tell you, let's see.
Well, you find that, I'm going to keep reading here. Alright, you go ahead. The cigar is made at the Rojas Cigar Factory Nestle, Nicaragua will be limited to 1,000 boxes of 10 cigars. A total run of 10,000 cigars, pricing set at $14 per cigar and $140 per box.
The Rojas KSG. What's the count? $14 each. Yeah, what's the count?
$140 a box. Oh, it's 10. Okay. 10,000 cigars.
Okay. All right. Okay. And then the second release that was exclusive for Bravada Cigar Club.
Oh. Which was the same six and quarter by 42 Vitola as this release. S. office in July 1st.
The PCA convention and trade show runs from the 8th to the 12th in Las Vegas. So PCA, so Ace Prime did a exclusive for, and I don't think that was a required sponsor, and that would make sense. It didn't say sponsor, because we did the story, right. That would make sense, because they made a cigar exclusively for PCA.
Like we did. Right, just like us. Yeah, the king and the jester. Yeah, of course.
You should look for those. Makes total sense. Come by the table and look for those. Nick Esqueno exclusive.
Yeah, it's made at Nick Esqueno. Why Uncle Skip is here. Do you see Phil Sun playing with the... I hope he snaps Phil in the back of the head.
Ah! Playing with a rubber band. It's lovely. ATL, is that ATL?
ATL Cigar Company? Yeah. I would assume. I would say it's ATL.
It's probably made out of Atlanta, Georgia. Hmm. They're announcing to rebuild new size of the Atlanta black production move to Tablacolera Pichardo. There you go.
Well, I just said Atlanta. Pechardo. Pechardo. Let's see.
The black is a new blend, a new size, a new factory producing it. The company has moved production to Tablical Air Pechardo. Pechardo. Luciano.
A factory that produces Ace Prime cigars and has been home to the number of cigars from the Crownheads. The line uses a Mexican San Andreas wrapper, while the binder comes from Masaya. Masaya, M-A-S-A-Y-A. Sure.
A region in Nicaragua known for its volcanic soil. So the filler comes from Nicaragua, SLE, Jalapa, and Pueblo Nuevo regions. We've always loved the blend of the Adel Black, Atlanta Black. So when we brought to Luciano at Ace Prime, we didn't want to lose the combination of Fuerte and Suave, which we felt was more unique in Armadouro, says Leroy Lamar of Adel Cigar Company.
Not only did Luciano retain the essence of what makes the Adel Black so special, he deemed it in a way that only he can, deepened it in a way that only he can. Oh, he's Irish. The only way he could do it. The only way he could do it.
He did it this way. So for our customers, this will be the Adel Black they love, only better. He'll be offering the Adel Black in two sizes first, a 6x56. He'll be offered with a pint of Guinness.
5x56 Grand Toro Vitola, both sizes are offered in 20-count boxes, Torpedo having an MSRP of 1240, and the Grand Toro is 1320. Why not just go, I mean, why are... Yeah, right, just 1240, just go to the 13. you're coming in off the rip you know what i mean like this is a it's not like hey price increase you know i'm saying right like this is a new cigar that's now or an old cigar that carried the one and the other thing and i'm like oh like just fuck it bro just go 13 14 fuck around and find out you know what i'm saying yeah i don't understand these people 12 40 no no no shh shh he's me or It's 1320 for the big one.
Foundation adding Macho Raton to El, you know, I could say this till I saw the word. Foundation. Right. Macho Raton to Waywensay and the Wiseman.
What? Macho Raton. M-A-C-H-O-R-A-T-O-N. That looks like Raton.
Raton? Maybe it's Raton. Like Boca Raton? Maybe it's Boca Raton.
Raton. Maybe it's Raton. Raton. Raton.
Macho Raton. Foundations of Cigars announced it will be adding a 4 3/4 by 60 Perfecto. He likes making the little cigars now, doesn't he? Look, man, you know what?
David and Goliath aren't that big, and then... You get better flavor out of a lot of those things. Oh, nice. And we like better flavor.
Unless you have, like, fucking banging filler, and then you can make a 54 or 56 gauge that's fucking gangster. But, you know, it's easier and, you know, better, I guess, to make a 46 or a 48, 50, kind of pushing the limit. Oh, this is a four and three quarter by 60. That's 60, but it's a little cigar.
It's a little fat guy. Oh, so that's not, no. That's what I'm saying. It's like the David and Goliath.
But it's fatter, it's fatter than David and Goliath. Take everything that I just said and throw that out the window in that case. I didn't, I just nodding. I don't know what you're talking about.
Four and three-quarter by 60. Ugh. Like my thumb. I'm out.
I'm not gonna, you know... Not gonna get 'em? No, I'll probably get 'em. I love Nick.
Yeah. The company announced that the VS Cigars... Probably won't love 'em. That announcement said that both cigars will have an MSRP of $14.
There you go, Nick. Atta boy, Nick. Round up. That's right.
Offered in boxes of 12 cigars. Additionally, it will be a limited... Inflation! production.
The shipping going to retailers every quarter. Financial Cigar Company will show off as a cigar at the PCA Convention Trade Show in July. And expect to have the cigars in store shelves later during the summer. Okay, when you break in on his meeting this year, I gotta film it, we need to film it.
Okay, totally, because you know what I love about Nick at PCA is he always looks like there's fucking helicopters coming for him. Right, he's always so busy, he's always just running around. Whoo, busy, whoo, gotta go, gotta go. Like, Nick, where he goes?
No, I wanna talk to you. I gotta go, I gotta meet him, I gotta go. So how are you? I wanna catch up.
I'm gonna take these cigars out of the box. Oh, they're glued in, I'm very sorry. I can probably rip them out, it'll be fine. The two lines use similar blends as both cigars or fillers from Esteli and Jalapa regions from Nicaragua.
The Weiwencilla uses the Nicaraguan Corojo 99 wrapper grown in Jalapa along with the Mexican San Andres binder. The wise man Maduro swaps the positions of the leaves using the Mexican San Andres wrapper and the Jalapa grown Corojo 99 for the binder. Oh, wow. Amazing.
And it's just, but it's so big. It just blows your mind. He switched the things. Yeah.
Just like that. Just like that, you know, they say he's probably one of the best blenders of our era. You know what, I believe that he's probably one of the greatest blenders of our generation. Oh, that's what I've heard, that's what I've heard, the way when saying names come from a story about a wise man, we all know that, let's see, both cigars are made of agronosa, oh, agronosa.
Oh, wow, he's only charging 14? You know, they roll in Miami, I hear. That's a lie. It is not, they just repainted the roll-in room!
It's not true. It's a conspiracy theory. Terrence. It's a conspiracy theory.
I had Terrence tell you, even the ones they rolled there. No, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, so Terrence, tell Michael what they rolled there. No, no, no.
Oh, we roll our event cigars there, and also this blah, blah, blah, blah. You tell Big Bird to keep his fucking lies to himself. Nope. They roll in Miami.
I told you. There's hope for us yet, as far as production in the States. Our fifth anniversary. $75 a cigar.
$75. Yep. We round it up. Our five year anniversary cigar with such a It's a hit that I use it to release the line extension, and it is beautiful, perfecto, 12-gown boxes make these easy.
What's it called again? Macho Raton? Yeah, Macho Raton. Macho.
Macho. Macho Pico. Does it have like a fucking Italian guy kind of slick back? Hey, yo, Macho Raton.
No, it's a way I wouldn't say, so it's the guy in the hat. Oh, so he's got, maybe it's a guy in a mask with the slick back hair. Oh, maybe. Yeah, I like it.
Hmm. We could ask a rep, but he never comes in. Yeah, Alfredo? Alfredo.
We can call him again and see if Alfredo's there. Phil's making faces. Smoke on the water. Smoke on the water.
Smoke on the water, yeah. Don't call smoke in. Abe is in the Middle East right now. Yeah, I saw that.
It's lovely. You know, it looks like an amazing trip. Can you imagine to be his kids? Do you get to go on that trip through Jordan and everything?
I mean, it looks amazing. Did you think that he was going to half-ass some shit like that? No, no. It's a five-star trip all over.
I understand that. It is, yes. The guy's not fucking around. He's not staying in a tent.
I understand that. Yeah, he's like, okay. I mean, but his kids, though, to get that kind of exposure and learn about their family, We meet relatives and stuff. Of course.
How great a trip is it. They're riding camels yesterday, for God's sakes. Yeah. You ever ridden a camel?
No. I've ridden a camel. I'm not surprised that you have. Just want you to know.
Never been in a desert, though. It looks very hot. Gotta tell you, the deserts do not look like they're fun. You think Abe would take me on as a kid?
As a son? No, I don't think so. No? No, all those kids are younger.
How old is Abe? I think he's probably around my age. So he can qualify. Well, yeah, but I mean, his lovely wife, they obviously had the kids when they were, you know, And they were, you know, the kids are younger.
Right. I think the oldest one's like 13 or something. So I could be like the oldest, I don't know, we'll see him at the show, I'll ask him. You can ask him, you think he's going to, I don't think he goes to the PCA.
He went last year, we saw him, remember we had a little bit. Oh, it was a PCA, yeah, yeah, yeah, I was thinking I was a TPE. Hey, but I gotta talk to you. I would like to be adopted.
How do you feel about taking me on as a son? Yeah, you know, my last name is very similar. Yeah. Nobody can say it either.
Yeah. No one can pronounce mine as well. Then, you know, maybe I go to the Middle East with you. Oh, you think he's going every year?
No. I don't know. I think this is a once-in-a-lifetime type trip. No.
Uh-oh. My wife's calling me. Oh, jeez. All right, we're gonna take a break.
We're gonna pause. He doesn't know. All right, we're back. I can't take a phone call.
So Abe is 58. Yes, yes. That would work. Well, sure.
What am I, 37? What does that put him at? 21. Sure.
Perfect. Right. It's just the evening of poor decisions, you know. In Poland.
In Poland, yeah. Or South Florida. Yeah. I mean, he's down there.
With your mother? No, no, no, no. No, I would take the whole family. I would call, you know, I'd call his wife, mom, Brandy?
Brandy? I think it is Brandy, yes. Lovely woman, by the way. Yeah, yeah, you know.
Very lovely woman. I'll take the whole, like, I'll just push mine aside. Oh, there you go. Like, no, no, I'm with them.
Hey, look, Abe, you have grandchildren. Yeah. Yeah, look. Teddy, Teddy, say hello to Grandpa Abe.
Yeah, this is Grandpa Abe. Cookie. No cookie. That's it.
That's all she wants. That's right. And if you don't give her what she wants, hell to pay. Camel.
No camel. I mean, Phil was at the house. He saw. Yeah.
Oh, she. She pushed him around? She pushed Phil around? No, no.
She pushed me around. He was like, oh, friends here? All right, cool. I want to go potty every five minutes.
Try that out. See how that goes. And I want stuff. Oh.
All the fucking things. All right. Illusion in general. Collaborate for Illusion of Excalibur.
Oh. I'm sure this was all Fred. After more than a year of development, Ellusione and General Cigar have unveiled their collaborative project Ellusione of Excalibur. It will be offered in a single seven and a quarter fifty-four sass.
How long did it take? A year. Interesting. They were able to finish it when Fred came along.
Fred's like, hey, we really need, listen, I'm trying to get the hell out of coach, okay? Really need to press this forward. Tell you what, how about if I wrap this cigar up for you, you guys can bump me up to first? We can just get this done, and then I can start, you know, traveling business class.
Right. Okay. On your dime. Based on Excalibur number one, a favorite cigar of Louis Jones founder Dion, how do you say this man's last name?
Giolito? G-I-O-L-I-T-O? I think it's like Giolatti or some shit. The cigar is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco, including a Corojo, I don't know, a 99 wrapper from Jalapa, and a Corojo 2012 binder from Jalapa, Ryojo and Corojo's fillers from the, ah, there's a lot of difference to get, oh, this will be made at Aganos also, so wait till we get to the price, $75, $75, and it's represented by General, how's that work, that's gonna be, there's a lot of hands on that one, it'll be expensive as fuck, you know what's funny is like the one interaction I have with Dion, oh my lord she's hit price, it's gonna be high, higher than average, you know what's funny is, okay, so here's the one interaction I have with Dion, and it sucks, because like, now that I know him, the Like, know of him in the industry.
Yes. I'd at least like to be cordial with him, but I don't think it'll ever happen. So... But now you have a Fred Buffer.
That's true. Yeah, Fred, you know, buffed this for me. Right. So, you know, it's like our first year at the trade show and we go, and Pete Hernandez is representing...
Is that the one you took the drone? No. Oh, okay. Should I take the drone this year?
No. I was thinking about it. Oh, your giant drone? No, it's a little one now.
Oh, oh. Yeah. Now you'll lose it. Damn, Mike, that's fucking hard.
You'll lose it. Why would I lose it? You can snag it out of the air, because you're going to sit there at the table and fly, I ain't fetching it, I'm just telling you, I'm not chasing it around. No one's going to snag it out of the air.
Make it feel, surely will. It's going to be too high. Oh, can you fly it inside, will they let you know that? I have no fucking idea.
You'll hit banners and things? Do you fly it a lot, are you good at it? No, I don't fly it a lot. Oh, well there you go.
I feel like I'm good at it though, come on. Come on! So, okay, hold on, let me get back to my story. Back to your story.
So it's like our first, you offended Dion. Yes, it's like our first year PCA. IBCPR. And Pete Hernandez is actually the guy for Illusion.
Right. And why they switched to Alfred, I have no fucking idea, Pete Hernandez is way better. Number one cigar broker in the world, as far as I'm concerned. Yes, obviously.
Even better than Groover. So, he introduces us, and again, we're just so wet behind the ears in the industry, and he shows, hey, this is Dion, this is his cigar, and it's like a cigar that's in tinfoil, like what he was selling. And forgive me, because I don't really know a ton about the brand, and he says the price, and this is when Greg is really kind of in charge of things, and he just totally fucking rips the price apart, he's like, I can't sell that cigar, that's way too much, and Dion's like, excuse me, like he gets, you can tell that he gets pissed off, yeah, as he should have been, he had every right to be, and we were kind of just shuffled along at that point, he's like, okay, let's get the fuck out of here, you know, let's go, let's go, let's go. What are you doing?
Yeah. I have to talk to these people. Go back to the J-Fuego, triple sevens. I mean, get the fuck out of here.
So, that was, you know, maybe Dion doesn't remember it, but I feel like he does. Well, he's probably not often he's been offended. I feel like that is kind of, yeah. What?
It's like, fuck you guys. Yeah. Pete, you know what? We're replacing Pete.
Where's Alfredo? Where's Alfredo? You bring these dirt bags around us? Right.
We could have been, we could be directly responsible as to why Pete Hernan has lost the illusion. Probably with most things, yes. Yeah, we've really affected his life. Oh, I'm sure.
I'm sure you have. See, let's see, where were you at? STG's Justin Andrews, Business Development Manager of Scandinavian Tobacco Groups, North American Brand, and Rest of the World Divisions. Oh, Rest of the World Divisions.
You want to call him? That's nice. Credited with Blending the Cigar. We haven't harassed him lately.
You want to call, see if you get on the phone and go, "What the hell? " Oh, $20. And what's this, limited to 4,960 boxes. Did they run out of boxes?
Okay, so wait, but what's the box count? Oh, how many in a box? 20? 10.
So it's 50,000 sticks? 4,960. So it's 49,000 cigars. Yeah, so it's 50,000 sticks.
Oh, that would be 5,000 boxes, wouldn't it? 4,960. Yeah, I'm sure rounded up. So it's 49,600 steaks Okay, so it's 50,000 Well, why didn't they just make 50?
I mean, they obviously didn't have enough. They ran out of boxes or ran out of tobacco. 50,000. All right, so let's round this path here.
Hold on. $20. $20. 50,000.
I'm 50. Carry the one. Here, here. I'm gonna fuck this up.
Mm-hmm. Holy shit, that's a million dollars. Oh. Gross sales.
One cigar. Justin's just the goose with the golden eggs now, isn't he? Son of a bitch. There was a story about the Sunday gravy, but it's the repeat of the one from last month that they didn't ever release.
No, no, no, it's this one now. No, no, now we're doing it. Run the same story. Nobody's going to know.
They're not going to know. Nobody's going to know. No one's paying attention. Carry on.
Let's see. When GCC asked me to do a collaboration and offered up X-Caliber, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. Oh, wait. This is Dion, not Justin.
I did the wrong accent. Oh. See if he answered. Forget him right here.
Oh, he hung up. He answered and hung up. He hung up. Son of a bitch.
You son of a bitch. That is some gangster shit right there. Mike, oh no, oh no, oh no, I'm gonna write now, you bastard. He's either out, what's normally, I'm on a plane, about to take off, I'm going to have to lead a meeting.
Yeah, they know, they have their traditional Monday meetings. Oh, son of a bitch. Oh, they're really, we're not finishing this, sorry. Fuck that, yeah.
Rocky Patel teases the edge, 20th anniversary. In 2004, Rocky Patel Premium Cigars, Inc. released The Edge, which has become one of the best-selling premium cigars since its introduction. This year, the company appears to be ready to release The Edge 20th Anniversary, a cigar that has been on social media.
According to the company's website, The Edge 20th Anniversary will use a 10-year-old Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a blend of tobaccos from Honduras and Nicaragua. We should come out with a curve. To go against the edge. That is the other PCA exclusive.
We call it The Curve. The Curve. It's our 30th anniversary. 30th anniversary of The Curve.
13th, 13th. No, no, no, just round up. It's our 40th anniversary cigar. Of The Curve.
And it's... It's a very edgy cigar. It's 15-year-old tobacco. Let's see.
In videos... Hyperborean. Hyperborean from the island of Naturo. Yeah.
Coop is still trying to get that guy out of the phone. He's still trying to get that one. There's only one farmer there, Coop. I keep telling you, he's very busy.
He's a very tiny island. He's a serious tobacco picker. Right. He's a whole family.
His son has just been made director of picking. Yeah. Marketing and picketing. No, no.
His daughter's in charge of marketing. Oh. They switch jobs. Oh, so he's really trying to teach them.
They're trying to cover the whole thing. They're moving up the Hyperborean ladder. That's exactly right. That's nice.
Yes. Let's see, a representative for the company did not reply to a message seeking more details about the cigar, but it seems like the cigar will be released at the 2022 PCA Convention and Trade Show, which again takes place July 12th. You know, Charlie, you can stop putting the dates on every single story. I think people know by now when it's going to be.
It takes place July 12th? July 9th through the 12th. Yeah, so we got to go in and we're going to be there the 8th. Yes, through the 12th.
Yeah. Yes. The company is currently running a contest promotion called Era of the Edge and releasing a teaser of the cigar on social media. O.
He's all about the contest here. What's he giving away? A car? Doesn't say.
A Ford Edge? Oh, that would be sweet. I think you're missing out on that one there, Rocky. Yeah.
Rocky Patel. I mean, we could be your marketing department. That's right. If the tech's big enough, you know?
They released a video on Venmo? What? A Venmo video? Vimeo.
V-I-M-E-O. What is Vimeo? I've heard of it, but I don't know what it is. It's a car?
Hold on a minute. Let's see. Phil thinks that he knows what he's talking about. It's a car app.
It's a car app? It's a video. No, it's not. We're now on Rumble.
Oh, yeah? Yes. Is that where our podcast fights against others? Uh, kinda, they, we'll discuss later.
Vimeo. Vimeo is not a car app. Phil is still shaking his head no, your mic's still on, Phil. It's like Zoom.
Yeah, exactly. Oh, so it's a thing where you call each other? One platform. So what, is Rocky randomly calling people and playing this video?
Check this out. Check this out, oops, accidentally sent this to you. Here's a contest. Let's go.
For those trying to figure out the admittedly confusing math behind the 20th anniversary, it seems likely the 20th anniversary refers to when Rocky Patel They started working on the project, not when the cigar was released, only adding to the confusion is that the A-10 Warthog launched to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Edge. Uh-huh. No, the A-10 Warthog's an airplane. This is a cigar.
It's a completely different thing. It's totally different. It's an entirely different kind of line. Hiram and Solomon, Blanco Cigars.
They broke up. End of fulfillment agreement. And we're done here. And we're finished.
Hiram and Solomon Cigars and Blanco Cigars have announced that the business relationship between the two companies has come to an end. It's not you, it's me. It's not you, it's me. It's not you, it's me.
I need more space. I need more time. I'm not right for you. I'm trying to figure out myself right now, and you know, it's a process.
Over the past several years, Blanco Cigars has handled a number of steps in the journey of a cigar from factory to store shelves for Hiram and Solomon, including importation, warehouse, ordering, fulfillment, billing, administrative, sales, clothes, what they have for lunch. Lunch? Tacos? Now both sides say the Hiram Solomon has reached a point where it can function more self-sufficiently and independently.
They apparently can pick their own clothes now. And decide what's happening for lunch. Hey, we're tired of giving you a piece. We're out of here.
Well, now allegedly, he came out with a, because you know their Shriner thing, he came out with his own Shriner cigar. I have heard that in the whispers behind the stories. Yeah, but again, we don't fact check, we don't fact check anything, it's alleged, we're not saying it happened, and don't call us, David. As part of the dissolution of the relationship between the two entities, Hiram and Solomon will be moving the production of his cigars and previously sent his cigars to another factory, they don't know where yet though, with the company telling half of the cigars are podcast, they're currently in the process of evaluating a few options, so they don't even know where they're going yet, but they know we're done here.
Here, though, obviously, so. Yeah, so what are you gonna do? No fucking idea. We don't know, we're just done with David.
We just want to torch that bridge real quick. That's right. The company cited major supply issues with getting cigars delivered, saying that just half of an order expended delivery between last October and November of last year just recently arrived, and I just thought of something funny, but David Schreiner Cigars, you got plenty of them. This is plenty in stock.
Oh, boy. Don't call us on that either. With no boxes here, the last year recently arrived as the cigars were delivered and came in bundles with no boxes. Oh.
Iron Solomon also currently utilizes PDR cigars for its production. The company has not yet identified when it will select a new factory to handle its production or resolve any supply issues. You know, I bet you it might be PDR. We're just done here.
I don't know who we're going, but it rhymes with PDR. Right, we don't know where we're going, but the initials could be PDR. Crown Heads Slate's Las Calaveras 2022 for July. Oh, yeah.
This year's version of Las Calaveras will arrive a bit later than normal. Excellent. David Cigars will be right on time. Crown Heads has announced that it will release a new Las Calaveras edition limited that 2022.
Next month, we'll be made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco, capped off by a Corojo 99 wrapper. This is not only a new blend for the series, but also the first time it has been a Nicaraguan bureau. Like prior releases, it's rolled at My Father's Cigar Nestle in Nicaragua. Oh, still.
Still, they're not moving. Yeah, I mean, hey. If it works, it works. I guess.
See, I figured Luciano would have done that by now. This Las Galerias brought to you by Pichardo. Oh, John Huber says, "The Corojo Obscure wrapper results in a flavor profile that, in my opinion, is reminiscent of the signature of my father's style, delivering classic Nicaraguan structure and intensity while retaining complexity and balance," said John Huber, co-founder of Crownheads, in a press release. Never really talked to that guy.
No? Mm-mm. 95. A lot of 9 out of 5's.
A lot of 9 out of 5's. All right. Blackbird increases the price June 20th. Late to the game, Blackbird.
Yeah, late to the game. Last month, they were announcing they didn't go to the PCA because they were moving factories. Right. The new factory is a little bit more expensive.
This is going to cost us more money. We have to move all these boxes. This will cost more money. 25% on June 20th, 2022.
The world is still in a current economic shift and is to be expected by a year. a year halt of many operations around the world. We will all face many shortages of everyday products. The cigar industry is no exception to this, said the company in a press release sent to Cigar Hustle Podcast.
Due to many shortages... Oh, by the way, we got our first actual press release sent to us. Stop. Yes.
You're kidding me. Yes, and I didn't even use the story this week. Oh. Sorry, it was Saka.
The Bewitched? The Bewitched. Yes, yes, the Bewitched. I can I can't read it off my phone.
I have it right here. Oh, my mom's calling, but not answering it. The new CRA Freedom Sampler Spring arrives in stores. Saka sent you a press release.
I got put on the list. He put up that post where he had lost the email list or something for all the different things. " Wow. He slid in there.
He must have somebody else do it and didn't realize who it was. Look at that. That's awesome. Yes.

The Padrón Black, was that the one you said they were after? Yeah, well, that's one that a lot of people like. The Padrón Black #52 is presumably a new size of the Padrón Black Series. It has been used in a multiple...
6x52? How much is it a 52 gauge? 5x56. Do you want to call it a 52?
Yeah, you call it... That's silly. I don't know. Why don't I call it a 56?
5x52. Ah, there you go. Okay, then finally, we have a Florida story. 11.
We still got a... We got one more. Want more? We do.
All right. Florida man bitten by a seven-foot alligator. He mistook it for a dog. You're fucking kidding.
The victim believed the reptile was a dog at a long leash, so he didn't move out of the way. A man survived an alligator attack on the Gulf Coast of Florida after he mistook the seven-foot-long reptile for a dog, authorities said Wednesday. m. on Tuesday near the warm Mineral Springs Motel in Northport, according to a statement by Sarasota County Sheriff's Folkman Douglas Johnson.
Listen, look, if you are a Floridian, you know two very simple things. Yes. In the morning, when the dawn breaks, you don't walk around the fucking shoreline of any lake or canal. No.
In the evening, when it's dark out, you don't walk around the lake or, like, you're not in this shoreline area. You forget the most important thing, Michael. Tell me. You assume there's an alligator in every fresh body of water.
Of course. Right. But like, you could go into the fresh body of water midday. Well, because he's not in the water then.
No. He's up on the... The shoreline is where these things occur. Right.
Right? Right. So, like, I mean... Way to get to it.
Okay, okay. The man was on a pathway near the motel and noticed a dark figure moving along in the bushes and believed it was a dog with a long leash, Which is why he wasn't hesitant to move out of the way according to Johnson. Seven foot dog. So this guy's a fucking, he's obviously a tourist if he's in a hotel.
Yeah, he's in a hotel, it's 12:30 in the morning, maybe he had to get a little drinky, drinky, drinky. Hey, look at that big dog over there. Oh my goodness, that dog. Come here, puppy.
Come here. Roll over. Roll over, roll over. Oh, he rolled over, death roll.
Yeah. Took his arm off. He survived. I feel like as they're coming in on the plane, there should be a conversation about this.
We have a conversation about this. Hey, listen. Yeah, or maybe at the airport on the tram. Right.
You know, stay away from Orlando. Yeah. There are alligators in all our lakes. Please stay away from them.
Please don't be an asshole. Stay away from the shorelines, especially. Right. Like when you travel a foreign country, they give the little card when you get off the plane.
Yeah, exactly. It'll look good. We need you to fill this out. Right.
Where, you know, we consider ourselves a, our own nation in the United States. Sovereign nation. Sovereign nation. Sovereign nation.
And, uh, we have these, we have this thing called gators. They're big. They're big, stay away from the shoreline. Stay away from fresh, just don't go in the fresh body, go to the ocean, the sharks aren't as bad.
We're really doing these people a disservice by not telling them. I think so, too. Yeah, I mean, you know, it's apparently it's very easy to mistake a seven and a half foot fucking gator as a dog. I said along to my family here, they're from Missouri, they're the lakes, don't have anything in them.
Yeah, say hey. Hey, just so you know, I know you're hot, don't go swimming in a lake. You might want to drop that line. Stay away from the shorelines, especially in the break of dawn and in the evenings.
Well, let's just stay away. They have small children. Let's just stay away from the brushwater. Small children, no.
I'm sorry you're hot and you're at Disney. Don't go in the lakes. I recommend a water park or pool. Yeah, chlorine, alligators.
Well, they don't hate chlorine. They go in those too. But at least you can see them. Yeah, but you can see out there.
There's a gator in there. Right there. Let's not do that. Hey, look at that dog.
I'm going to skip that one. I'm going to skip that one there. I don't think that's a loan award. I mean, normally the hotel pools are all gated anyways.
That's true. Alligators can climb the fence. Can they? You haven't seen that video?
No. There's a video on the scale of, six footer scales, see Phil is the audience that scales right up a chain link fence. Listen, I don't trust Phil, he just told me that Vimeo is a fucking car shopping thing. It's a car thing.
Oh. It's, it's that, it's that giant machine where you put the giant, oh, where you put the giant coin in and you, poof, and then they go, roo, and a car comes out the bottom. That's a Vimeo, yeah. Yeah, it's a Vimeo, that's it right there.
Right. Yes. Perfect. All right, you ready to get out of here?
Yeah. Well, apparently you're staying late today. Let's go. Patreon, baby.
All right. This has been episode 232. Is it 232? Yes, because last week was 231.
This has been episode 232 of Cigar Hustler Podcast. Yes, it has been. Thank you for listening. Thank you so much.
Stay away from the lakes if you listen for this amount of town and all the fresh bodies of water. Yeah. That'd be stupid. Yes, we care about you here at Florida.
We don't like paying, we don't want to pay state income tax. So you guys have to keep coming down here. Yeah, we want you to visit, but we don't want you to stay. And we don't want them to eat you.
And we don't want you to die. No, no, that'd be terrible. So come in, leave your money, go home. Right.
Thank you. All right. Go to one, so Mike can say goodbye. Come and leave your money, go home.
Goodbye. That, you know, funny, that's a sign that Cigar Hustler up by the register. Come and leave your money, go home. Come and leave your money, go home.
Well, it's a stay a while, too. You know, drinks a while, drink more money that way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, guys, we got to get out of here.
