Cigar Hustlers Podcast 262 One Of Us

Cigar Hustlers Podcast 262 One Of Us

Episode Summary

Episode 262 of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast opens the new year with Mike Szczepankiewicz, producer Mike "BDP" Palmer (wearing a rubber mask for much of the show) and cameraman Phil. The guys kick things off with housekeeping — the show is getting its own WikiCigars page thanks to Steven Newman — and a long pitch for the Patreon, where they review cigars by the gram, share industry "inside baseball," and take unfiltered phone calls from brand owners and manufacturers. They tease an upcoming Patreon review of the J. London Telephone Booth Series 2 and revisit last week's Blueprint discussion for listeners who wondered why Palmer didn't smoke on the free feed.

The middle of the episode is pure hangout: New Year's Eve at home versus downtown Sanford, the Universal Orlando escape rooms (Jurassic Park and Back to the Future), a legendary story about getting booted off the Spider-Man ride, football talk (Bucs clinching the NFC South, Georgia–Ohio State, TCU–Michigan), and an on-air unboxing of a care package from Brett Frye of Tabacology — a cigar, a leather case and an S.T. Dupont lighter to finally make Phil "one of us" now that he's in the industry. That also spawns a running argument about who did and didn't get handed one of the limited Bostonie Connecticut pre-production samples.

For news, the crew covers the closing of Sosa Family Cigars in Disney Springs after a 25-plus-year partnership with Disney (with local rumor that a new neighboring restaurant wanted the smoke gone), reflecting on the tiny three-chair shop that moved enormous volumes of hand-rolls and Opus X, plus the earlier Fuego by Sosa on Pleasure Island. They also cover the Aganorsa Leaf Supreme Leaf Toro — the line's first non-box-pressed vitola, 6x52 Parejo, all-Nicaraguan with a Corojo 99 wrapper at $13.99, limited to 2,750 boxes of 10 — Aladino's role in Muga Inc.'s SP1014 Black for Sanj Patel's Sanj Smoke Shop (Maduro wrapper, barrel-aged Mexican San Andrés binder, undisclosed fillers, capped at 300,000 cigars a year), and a new Adventura Barbarroja Invasion Corona. The discussion of "undisclosed" blends leads to a candid rant about how little anyone truly knows about what's in a cigar unless they know the factory.

The episode closes with 2023 plans: Powstanie release events at shops like Hogshead, Tabacology, Secreto Cigar Bar and Nickel City, a possible podcast road show, and cigar-adjacent pop culture talk (Tulsa King, Yellowstone, Glass Onion, Jeremy Renner's snow plow accident, and who should really play Batman). Tabacology and Brett Frye take Shop, Listener and Patreon of the Week honors.

Hit the button. Hit the button. I was waiting to do something else for some reason. Brr, brr, brr, brr, brr, brr.

Welcome to the Cigar Hustlers Podcast episode blank, because he didn't have it. 262. With your host, Michael the King, Stepon Kavich, and his producer, Mike BDP Palmer. Hi, thank you.

I'd like to do something new for you this year. I like the mask because it messes up his voice. And me, I'm Phil, your cameraman. I've been told I'd look great for my age, if my age was 87.

Oh, man. The holidays have just passed! You need to put your decorations away. Where will you put them?

In the attic? Why, attics are dirty. They get extremely hot and not good for your cherished holiday ornaments and trips to the attic can be dangerous. Stop this traditional madness and eliminate the trips to the attic and emergency room by installing A Rack Above.

A Rack Above is a huge freestanding overhead garage storage system that creates a four-foot mezzanine across the entire garage. The entire width of your garage rack above creates massive, unobstructive overhead storage where you can see and reach your belongings without the risk of falling off a ladder. A Rack Above is constructed of lightweight aluminum. It's easy to assemble with not rust and will fit in your garage today as well as your garage of tomorrow, Michael.

Really? Did I mention you can assemble it in less than an hour? You didn't. Oh, well, yes.

You can with just one wrench. Oh my God, one? That's right, you heard me, Michael. Just one wrench.

Wow. So this year, buy yourself and the wife a gift of a lifetime. com. Very nice.

com. Oh, okay. I'm glad you sorted that out for me. Well, it's confusing, I understand.

Make sure you like, subscribe, hit the button, hit the bell, do all those things for us. Please, we need more support. Show us you love us. We're getting a WikiCigar page for the show.

We're getting a WikiCigar page? Yes. There's a WikiCigars? There's a WikiCigars.

What's a WikiCigar? Well, you've heard of Wikipedia. Yeah. This is WikiCigars, everything I do with cigars.

Oh, yeah? All cigars. Okay, so who was micro dosing on Christmas? " No, this has been coming for a while now.

Oh, yeah? Yes. So they micro dosed two years ago? Three?

No, I think it started back in September. Who did it? I don't remember the gentleman's name. Hold on, I'll tell you real quick.

Oh, you don't even know? I know, he texted me. Asked me if I would like to submit a page. This is great.

Steven Newman. Steve Newman. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I've heard that name.

Yeah, he has that... He's Facebook messages. Yeah, it's a Facebook page, Cigar Business or whatever thing. It's just for people in the industry.

Oh, very nice. Look at you. He would like you to do one so that you can be linked off of mine for Cigar Hustler. Oh, okay.

Oh, nice. Yes. Go ahead and do that for me if you want. I don't know your background.

You fucking know my background better than I know my background. It's just more work for me. Yeah, so just tell him no. Just no.

He actually, because I mentioned Greg and mine, you have to, Greg would want to do one too. Oh, yeah. Have Greg do it. Greg invented cigars.

He would love it. Yeah, Greg. Him and Sokka. Greg knows everything there is about making, selling, and smoking cigars.

Yeah, he knows everything about retail. It's a lovely cup. Oh, you like this? Thank you very much.

It's very nice. It says Cigar Hustler on it. Oh. It's not as good as the one that my other friend sent me.

Oh. John. John. John.

I'm John a blank. You don't know your friend's name? I like him, though. He's a good guy.

Apparently. He's in Texas. He doesn't have a name. Damn it.

I can't remember your name. I'm sorry. Can you look him up on your phone like I did? At least I have to hate him.

John? John Jurgalette. No. John Jomama.

Shit. John shit. He's a firefighter. Doesn't help me.

Damn! I mean, my son's a firefighter, but I don't know all of them. Damn, you brain and your stupidness. What does your cup say on it?

It says Cigar Hustler. Hail me? Hail me. The king?

The king. No. So what'd you do for New Year's, Michael? By the way, you can tell me.

You can tell me, but what were you doing when I called? When? On New Year's Eve. I was lighting fireworks with my kids.

Oh, because you just all of a sudden hung up. No, yeah, I called you back, too. Phone didn't ring? Yeah, no, I called you back.

I think that a lot of people were probably calling and doing the whole, so we had issues. So I went to texting people. Damn it, I'm sorry. I think your name's John.

Greg didn't answer me back. Oh, see, look, I still answered. None of my children. No?

Didn't hear from the children. You know who I did hear from? Who? Skip Martin.

Oh. And Matt Puth. They reached out to you? Well, I sent a message.

Oh, okay. Still, they answered, though. They responded? Yes.

That's fantastic. Hey, Phil, I don't have my scale. Can I get a scale for this? If you go to camera three, I'll get the scale, Phil.

I need to smoke. Talk about what days we're smoking while I get the scale. So we are going to, on the Patreon, we are going to be reviewing the J. London Phone Booth, Telephone Booth, Series 2.

Very smooth. Very smooth, Mr. Palmer. Thank you.

Like magic, it just appeared. I would like to address something, someone mentioned. The elephant in the room? No.

No. Last week we did the Blueprint. Yeah. Yeah.

Well, they mentioned, they go, Palmer didn't even smoke in on the show, why was he just making fun of the Blueprint on the show? Who said that? I don't remember the name. That's not how it works.

That's not how it works. I'm very busy over here with all this. You gotta smoke it. He smokes it on the Patreon.

Patreon. On the Patreon, sir. Listen, all you gotta do is support us. It's 15 bucks a month.

For the video. And he'll smoke it. 10 bucks a month just for audio. 10 months, you can hear me smoke it.

For 15, you can watch me smoke it. Running a successful podcast empire is not easy. And it requires... There's buttons and stuff going on everywhere.

All this costs money. All this costs money. And, you know, we're tired of paying for it after five years of hard work. How much did it weigh?

Oh, don't tell them, don't tell them. You know, that's something I'm not gonna tell you. That's on the Patreon. That's on the Patreon.

If you want to know how much it weighs by the gram, you gotta jump on the Patreon. By the gram. By the gram. Not by the plate, by the gram.

Not by the plate, by the gram. This isn't Styles and Switch. It's being very quiet over there. So, that's because you strapped a fucking mask on him that's not big enough for his head.

And it's probably cutting off any type of blood flow. Yeah, it's definitely not big enough. It makes him lisp. I think that it's funny.

It is funny. It's very scary. Put your camera on so people can look at you. This is abuse.

This is a new level. It really is a new level. But before we transition, let's just go back real quick. Back to two, back to two.

A Cigar Hustlers Podcast Patreon. Just come on, give us, you know, show us the love and support that we need so we can continue on this journey. The Patreon's mentioned on the show's Wiki Cigar page. Excellent, that's excellent, because I refuse, I refuse to take money from anybody in the cigar industry.

That's mentioned too, that we don't take cigar ads. I like to say what I want to say, and that way you know that it's not a biased opinion. What else is on the Patreon other than Rating Cigars? Industry Inside Baseball.

Shit we can't say on this one. Oh yeah. If you think that this one is off the cuff. Oh yeah.

The Patreon can get a little crazy sometimes. They can get a little crazy. We have pictures of cigar people doing things. Doing?

Yes. Just say yes. Yes. Very embarrassing photos.

Honestly though, some of the things that we discuss on the Patreon are next level. Our next level, without question. Oh, yes. Lots of phone calls.

Good to hear what... We do call people. Because they like being able to talk on a limited audience. It's like we're their Oprah.

We are the Oprah Winfrey of the cigar industry for major brand owners and manufacturers. I haven't made that comparison yet. We just let them loose. We take the call...

They can say anything they want to say. And they get to understand, they get to lash out, you know, and really kind of just let it all out. Let it all out. And that's important.

It's important. Sometimes they say. No, they don't say that at all. That way.

Jack Taranio said that more than once. Because you can't carry that around. You know what I mean? You got to let it off your chest.

You know, if there's some fuckery going on in the industry, and I promise you. There's always fuckery. Yeah. As I continue to look at camera two, even though I've been on this soliloquy for the past fucking ten minutes.

Phil's watching us. This is my monologue. Oh, he's taking the mask off. This is my monologue.

Oh, now we're on Palmer. That's excellent. Oh, hello. Hi.

Now that I've almost completed my speech, yeah, it's really good. It's really good. Support us. Even if you don't want to listen, just buy it and support us every month.

Let's go. Just send us money? Yeah, just send money. There are plenty of Patreons that do nothing for you.

Nothing. But they say they support the major podcasts that you have going on. Yes. You can just give us five bucks a month.

What's five dollars for your boys? Five dollars didn't really get you anything or nothing. No, but hey, you don't have to get us anything. $5, you can't even hear it.

Hey, $5. $10 is the minimum. Give him a $5. We have a $5 on there where they get stickers.

Show me that you care. Oh. Show me you care. They're nice stickers.

Go back to tune now. I'm tired of this thing staring in my face. They're nice stickers. They're nice stickers.

So what'd you do on New Year's? Before New Year's. Oh, New Year's Eve, sorry. Let me tell you what I did before New Year's Eve.

Yes? The man he was in town. Yes. For the Christmas.

Yes. And the schoolteacher. Yes, and the schoolteacher. Jax is enamored with the Manny.

He loves the Manny. He was excited. The Manny was a surprise to come down. Oh!

Yeah. So... That late. No, I'm dry drawing it.

Oh. So I can analyze it later on the Patreon. Yes, the Patreon. And I have no fuel.

Oh, I got it. Nope. Yep. I see the palm, baby.

Nothing but the best. Um... I shouldn't say that. that.

Top of the line. Yeah, they're never going to advertise. Yeah. Even though we all have one?

We would sell lighters. Mine's never been used. It's still at home. Really?

Until I get one of these that it holds. Oh, we got to talk to, what's his name? Kenneth Camus. He's not making them still.

He's still not? He's got the house. Is there anyone out there? Anyone out there?

Is there anybody out there? Greg keeps threatening to talk to the guy he knows over at Daytona, but he never does. So the man who was in town and Jax and Justin's like, we want to go golfing or the I'm like, okay. So I had this brilliant idea to go to the Universal Great Escape.

What is that? Universal in December, they opened up these things called escape rooms. They have two escape rooms. Oh, I did see the email.

Yeah, one's Jurassic Park and the other one is Back to the Future. Oh. So, of course, I look them up and they're fucking booked. Yeah, well, yeah.

Like, son of a bitch. You're late to the party. I was very late. I was very late, but I called the next morning and they had a cancellation, so we booked it and we did it.

Oh, nice. It is, and I'm gonna tell you right now, it was fun. It was really cool. Like, eventually, like I, the door doesn't open, right?

Right, like, it's, there's like four or five chambers as you kind of go through it all, right? And, you know, if you solve the problem, there's another problem. Yeah, to the next room. No, no, no, like, even if, even if you solve the problem in time, right, there's another problem you can solve.

Like, it'll advance to a harder problem. Oh. So, then you get rated at the end, you get scored. So, even if you don't score, if you don't solve the problem, or you do solve the problem, you get a score.

Right. And the door opens in about 15 minutes, that way it keeps it moving. Oh, either way. Yeah, so it's an hour long, 15 minutes.

Four rooms. Yeah, four rooms, I think, it feels like it was more than four rooms. Well, 15 minutes, an hour, that's... It's an hour long, so I think some rooms might be smaller in time than others.

Ah, gotcha. But, Justice was freaking the fuck out. Cause there's one room where the power goes out. Oh, it is dark.

Yeah. And if you put your hands up like this and you do an X, they will come and get you. Oh. So, now.

So they're watching with like infrared night vision. They got cameras and mics and stuff in the room. So. What if you did this like Wakanda forever?

I think you'd be fine. But if you went up. What if I go up? Yeah, that's the problem.

Oh. Now, Justice has gotten me kicked off the Spider-Man ride. Midway? Right before we get on.

get on oh he started i don't know if i probably still justice yeah i probably told this story before but no no we got on the spider-man ride man i was so fucking pissed okay got on the fucking spider-man ride sitting in the little car sitting in the car and he's freaking out now he's he's been on this ride before oh so he knows what's coming dude it's okay you know you've been on the ride right there's nothing to worry about i want to get out i want to get out like it's gonna be okay dude you're freaking out for no reason it's fine i want to get out now i'm like I'm like, okay, the attendant comes over. Sir, you're gonna have to get out with you. Sir, is he okay? I said, yeah, he's okay.

Then they ask him, are you okay? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! No, I'm not okay. No, you're not okay.

I'm like, are you fucking kidding me? This is a fucking, it's a sim, it's 3D, there's... Right. Nothing.

We're wearing glasses, for fuck's sake. We're driving in this little cart. Right. There's a lot of moving in that thing.

Sir, I'm gonna have to ask you get out of the car. She said, I'm fine, it's him with the problem. I could not fucking believe it. Oh.

So I got out. So you had to get out. I fucking told him. I was like, man.

Spanked him as soon as he got around the corner. No, I spanked him in front of the guy, and then I booted him down the- Ticked him down the ramp. I couldn't do that. We're real parents.

You wait here. I'm getting back on. Yeah. Yeah.

That's it. Here, hold his hand. You made him get off. Is there an express pass for me to come back?

Responsibility for you now. Right. Matthew. I would have made him stay.

Right. So anyway, so he did that. Put him in the child swap for me. Give me a kid that's normal.

So, when we hit the electric room, I'm like, son of a bitch, I'm like, please. Do you normally scare in the dark? This is a thing, right? It's a phase.

This is new. Oh, he's going through. We're ramping up the fear thing. And I'm like, you got nothing to worry about.

Take him to fear factor. I've explained to him, like last night I had a whole conversation, we got nothing, you got nothing to worry about. If you're scared at night, you know what to, all you have to do is make a noise and that dog will show up, right? Oh, the dog.

The big one. The dog. The bubbles. So, I'm like, make the noise right now.

And as you know, it's the end of the night. Everything's closed up. The dog's all the way in my room. Right.

Does the dog sleep in your room? Now he does, yeah. In the floor? Yeah.

So, he makes the noise. Here he comes. Is it any noise or is it a certain noise? You know the noise.

Oh, that noise. Yeah, that noise. So, you make the noise and he comes right in. What's up?

What's going on? Who do I bite? What's going on? What do you need me for?

I'm here. I'm here. I was like, see? Don't worry about it.

Is there a child gate he has to jump? No, but I'll tell you right now, that dog's so goddamn smart. He could just open the child gate. I'd like to see him jump it.

He could probably do that, too. Oh, sure. He's a big dog. Let's not have him injuring his hips, you know?

Oh. So, anyways, I'm panicking. I'm holding him. I'm like, it's fine.

It's fine. You're going to be okay. Put your arms down. Brady grabs him.

He's like, I got him. I'm like, okay. Thank God. Is he making the dog noise?

No. Don't really do the noise. No, no, no. That wasn't a noise, that wasn't a noise, that wasn't a noise, that wasn't a noise, that wasn't a noise.

" That is another noise. Alright. He is German. So, she gets him, and we know we keep working on the power sector, we couldn't figure this one thing out.

So is she like holding his arms down? I think she did like a whole, like a, I don't, it was behind me, but I heard like a, like a... " You're not going to screw this up for the rest of us. Your father had to sell to pay for this?

We're halfway through. Okay. We're halfway through. Right.

So, he gathered himself, and after that, you know, the next one's had lights and stuff, so he was fine. Gotcha. I mean, Teddy was having a blast. Oh, yeah.

The two-year-old thought it was amazing. Oh, she probably wouldn't turn the lights off. " Petrified. Petrified, ha ha ha.

She's turning the dog with a different noise. She was very upset with me. I refused to feed her seven snacks. I capped it at six yesterday morning.

How dare you? So she brought in her fucking stroller and just threw it on the ground, like in front of the bed so that I would trip on it when I woke up. And I did trip on it. And I'm like, God damn it.

But yeah. She's laying traps now. Yeah. She's like, oh, you don't want to give me another Go-Gurt?

That's fine. You'll be dead. You'll be dead by noon. She's at the trap.

" Just bite him. You make the noise, you bite him. You make the noise, you bite him. You make the noise, you bite him.

I mean, she's the number two in the house. I'm the number one, but she's the number two. Oh. Yeah, I saw Christmas Eve, the dog came up to her and like put his mouth on her face.

Oh yeah, all the time. And he, she just smacks. " What do you think? That mask is driving him crazy over there.

You can get rid of the mask, Phil. Oh, not when he's on camera. - Just don't go back onto your camera. - He's gonna have to.

- Look at him, he looks sweaty. - 'Cause it's hot. - He had the hoodie on. - Yeah.

- No, this mask is rubber. - That's why he got off the jacket. - All right, put the mask on over your package. - What happens when you put on some rubber over there, Balmer?

- I don't wear anything rubber. - So, New Year's Eve. - So anyways, for New Year's Eve, we just hung out at the house. - I've been fixed.

- I don't like to fucking, I don't like to go out on New Year's Eve. - Oh. Right. - You know.

- Right. - I feel like it's amateur drinking night. - Oh, sure. - It's what it really is.

Yeah, I didn't want to go anywhere and then have all my kids in the car and then... Oh, take your children? Yeah, yeah, then we all die. I mean, you know, if I die, it's one thing.

Right. You know what I mean? You're a jerk, worth a lot of money. Exactly.

They're okay at that point. Children are not worth anything. Yeah, no, no, it's just miserable. There's a heartache and misery at that point.

Yeah, exactly. Yeah, an empty hole, you know, so we don't need any of that. Really though, in that big car of yours, they'll probably all make it. Maybe.

Not worth the risk. Georgia, or what's the Georgia game over, I watched the TCU Michigan game. Downtown Sanford, everybody's watching the Georgia game, bar to bar, everybody's watching. I watched the Georgia, who the fuck did they play?

Uh, Ohio State. Ohio State, yeah, yeah, yeah, Thursday, Oklahoma. , you wanna know how I know I'm getting fucking old? 's in the NFL.

Oh, Asante. Yeah. Yeah, it was nice, I love his wife. Yeah, Asante Samuel was a UCF boy, and then he went to New England.

There's a sports show here on Thursday night. I know, I'm just telling you. Oh, okay. I feel old.

And I got time to film. Very sorry. You know, we're okay now. If we need to progress now.

No, no, probably. Yeah, mention some more sports. So for New Year's Day. You watched another game?

I did. Oh. I actually did. Kansas City?

Because I heard they won. No, they almost lost, by the way. And your boy JJ must have been fucking puckered up in his butthole a little bit because it was 27-24. Did he go to a wedding?

He was like, JJ, on that sports talk, he's like, it's going to be a blowout. It's going to be 75-3. You know, let's go, Chiefs. It's like he's here.

Thank you, isn't that amazing? Yeah, no, I didn't say any racial slurs or anything like that. Call me Whitey, do it again. Whitey!

Oh, yeah, it's just like he's here. So, my blood pressure doesn't get that high, so... He gets very excited. I heard he's been spoken to by Boots that he needs to calm down.

Yeah, he did get spoken to, unfortunately. But I did go to a game. What game did you go to? The Buccaneers-Carolina Panthers game.

And god damn it, guess who locked in the NSC South division? The Buccaneers? Yeah, they did. They did.

Now they're going to the playoffs? They're going to the playoffs. You know-- And it could be Dallas. Next door to Circle K, there's a big Buccaneers tailgate banner out by the road.

You want to take that? I figured you would like it. You think I would steal it? Sure.

What the fuck do I do with that? Put it up at your house. Put it on the fence in a backyard. Why would I do that?

Meet a Buccaneers tailgate party in your backyard. Oh, that sounds amazingly-- Put it up on Sundays. Stupid. Where's your package?

It's right there, I said he's got a box open. He's been telling me. It's okay. I don't listen to him when we talk.

It's okay, we love to hear about how we can win. Yeah, we love to hear about all the fun guys. The Buccaneers game was great. When I was talking at the beginning of this podcast, at the beginning of this podcast, what was fucking said to me?

We have five news stories. Well, that's what he said. I still have, well, it's not like they're any different, you guys are over there? I know, I know.

Let me back it up another step. And when you announce the show, you say, King Palmer, and what? What is he? No, you're the King.

Yeah. King Palmer. Oh, the King. Yeah.

King Palmer sounds nice, though. Well, what does he do? Production, something, something? Production.

You know, he's gonna take you out now. The producer, the producer. He likes King Palmer. I don't want to be the King.

So when the producer says, hey, I only have five news stories to talk about, you're gonna have to fill. And you fill. I'm a fucking fill. if you need we're all phils in my heart phil i just want you to know phil if you ask me to do something i'm gonna fucking deliver i'm gonna say okay no problem i know and that's what i just did right do you need a knife phil okay so now again i'm gonna i'm gonna pull so enjoy your mask don't open don't open it with the camera being on you yeah camera needs to be on yeah i'm not gonna open it i'm waiting i'm waiting for you to finish the buccaneer story i'm done with my story let's talk about you all right so who are they gonna play who cares let's talk about you let's talk about Get out of your package.

Yeah. Go to camera seven. Camera seven. Camera twelve.

Now, hold on. I need to label that camera. Now, our dear friend, Brett Frye, Tabacology. Yes.

He sent you a package. Who apparently is in that secret society. Which one? The one from National Treasure.

Are the handshakes? The one from National Treasure. We know what to speak about. Yeah.

It's on his return. We know what to speak about. Have you watched the new National Treasure thing on Disney? No.

I'm afraid to watch anything on Disney. Oh, there's nobody getting it. It has to be fucking reviewed, because I'm not explaining this shit to my kids. " I like the list.

Come on, open it up! You know what's funny? Is they set a thing for like ages, so that it restricts things. So I put the age in for Teddy, there's like nothing on Disney Plus that she can watch, there's like three shows.

Oh. So now she has to go on her mic. It says you don't get any. All right, let's see what our dear friend Brett Frye Tobacology has sent to you.

Oh, man. Oh, it's a big poop stick. Oh, yeah. Just the one thing in there?

No, no, no. Some fuel. Nice! Oh, there is a note.

Oh, there's a note. Oh. Did he not have a lighter one, Joe, or something? Oh.

Oh, your own leather case. Oh, your own pouch. Oh, and it's got a lighter. It's got a lighter.

It's got a lighter too. Holy shit. Holy. Where do you get those?

Oh. Wow. Wow. And we were just legit talking about that.

Yeah. Tobacology, right on it. Boom. Is it the, what are the...

So this is... Okay. So this is... I think I know why this happened.

Yeah, it's the exact same setup. Go ahead. Read the note. I know why this happened.

Okay. Let's read the note. I don't know why. All right.

It says... No, no, no, no. Take it off. Because the teeth make it lisp.

That's the best part. Phil, top three reasons you're in the industry. One, you know what? I'm already crying.

I'm in it. Do you want us to read it for you? One, cameraman for the podcast that keeps Garfalo up at night? Garofalo.

Garofalo. Garofalo. Oh, God. Garofalo.

He hates us. He hates us. Number two, you're asked how cigars taste, feel, on air. s never admit you've seen one up close much less that a cigar tastes like one on air Thanks a lot, Palmer.

I know what he means, Palmer. I know what he means. Thank you, Brett. Thank you very much.

Oh, that's awesome, man. Thank you. Garofalo loves us. Who's number one?

Cigar Hustler, the podcast. That's right, he loves us. Our podcast is number one. Yeah, that's really thoughtful, I guess.

Yeah, because I let you off the hook with the cutter and lighter thing, because I said you're not in the industry. So now you have no excuse to never have one. Yeah. Yeah, moving forward.

Moving forward, you will be held accountable. Yeah. D. Tupont on the show.

Yes, because he was smart and got the case last minute when Ken was still making them. I am king. He is king. So you just click a lot.

You know what, the good news is, these are easily replaceable opposed to that one. I'll just get another one. What the fuck do I care? Yeah, but you own the shop, we gotta pay for them.

I pay for them if I own the shop. I'm surprised you don't have the one with all the cards all over it. Oh yeah? Greg would have flipped his lid Greg would never know I'm going to have to make a fake receipt for this one and send it back again I just got it I just got it for Christmas I hope nobody listens at Estee DuPont you know what's kind of fucked up though I know that certain retailers just get free lighters all the time and shit from them from Estee DuPont and I'm like hey paid for this one think you could fucking you know kind of doesn't work right Can you fuckin' come through?

" I'm like, "Oh, okay. Fuck me, I guess. " Did you bleed it first? No.

It might have air in it. Yeah, it's all yours. I checked it. How do you check it for air unless you bled it?

Use your pen, use your knife. Can't see none of this mask on. Just for the record, you have an Esti De Ponce sitting right there. As a matter of fact, do you have more Esti De Ponce than I do, Phil?

I technically only have one in my possession. I like when you look at him, his mouth hangs open, and he's still... You only have the green one? Yeah.

Because the white one he gave the ginger? Yes. Did he give it to him? Which he uses all the time.

Yeah. Oh yeah, he loves it. That one works, just there's no paint. And he tells everybody about it.

Oh. I got this from my boys at the hustle. Your boys? Yeah.

You got credit too. Look at that. I told him it was from all of us. I hooked him up.

I gave him a good deal. Oh. Yeah. Terrible businessman.

Great friend. Terrible businessman. A fucking horrible business. Horrible businessman.

Wow. So yeah, that was my fun and exciting adventure. I thought you turned your phone off. My wife texted me.

Should there be any... Normally she calls. Yeah, Palmer, should there be any New Year resolutions for Miss Brittany, for Mikey? Oh, probably.

We should call her. You should call her. I don't want to call her. Okay.

We'll have her on next week. Yeah, we can have her on next week. Next week... Any New Year resolutions, Mikey, you want for Palmer?

Uh, no. Who should we have as a guest for the upcoming year? Anybody, anybody, any guests anybody want, now that he's in the industry? Oh.

No, I kind of like how those things just naturally develop. I can't think of any way we haven't had on that I would like to have. The problem is, when you're in the industry for 13 years, it's no longer a big deal. You just don't fucking care.

You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you want to come on? Great, let's have a good conversation.

You're not like, man, I really think that, you know, you should come on the show. It just doesn't happen. What about, have you guys ever had on guys from other shows? Like, the people who I really enjoy talking to at this point, Bear, you know, El Oso Fumar.

Yes. I enjoy talking to Bear. I'm going to be on a show this year. Matt and Garrett.

How about that cigar? We talked the other day. Coop. Coop.

We haven't heard from Coop. I mean, and Charlie Minato. Right. I enjoy talking to all those guys.

I'd rather talk to all, I'd rather have all of them come on the show. Oh. You know, like, those are the guys I'd be excited to talk to. Right.

To be honest. Oh. Oh! Oh, I have a question.

I know what we're talking about. Have you ever seen TMZ? Yeah. The TV show?

No, no, no. Yeah. Okay, you know how they shoot their little meetings? Uh-huh.

We could do that upstairs. With the wig meeting? Yeah, with two cameras. Okay.

Why would we do that? Don't give that away. Some of the stuff we did was funny. Don't give that away.

Some of the stuff in the meeting is funny. But I don't know if you don't want some of the other information to get out, though. We could edit that out. Yeah, you wouldn't do that part.

Yeah, but then that's, then that's like 10 minutes. Not even. Right. I don't like to have a fucking meeting of time suckery.

Like, we can be fucking short, concise, to the point, let's get what's going on, how do we make your life better, all right, done. Like today, it was funny stuff today. It's never short and sweet. We get added to the Patreon every week.

It was less than 20 minutes today. Was it? Yeah. Yeah, but 15 minutes of it was funny.

Was I counting my, what was it, last year? That was a little bit, yeah, where you had to figure out the money again, wow, it seemed like a lot more than 20 minutes, no, no, no, I didn't, with the added shit, it was, I hit, when I hit, finish hitting the record button, I realized it was recording, and it hit 29 minutes, and I had stopped, we had moved on 15 minutes, right, you know, before I'm like, oh shit, I'm still recording, I think it's a good idea, though, correct, I have another question for both of you, yeah, one question, one question, okay, I'm in the industry though. You still get one question. Okay.

Okay, the question is, do you think Mr. Ed Reed will still make cigars? No. Oh, will he still make cigars?

Now that he's a coach for Bethune-Cookman? Probably not. Oh, that's what you guys were talking about. Oh, that's why that guy looked familiar in the picture.

Probably not. Yeah. That makes sense. Probably not.

Nah, he's too busy. I mean, he just, Bethune-Cookman's over here somewhere, right? Yeah, Daytona. Daytona.

We should go. The Seaman Sir Henry. The building you can see from the road is very small. Is there a bigger building?

No, that's it. Oh, it's very small. Where do they play football? Dude's probably the greatest to ever play that position.

Mainland's Field. Mainland High School's Field. You know what I mean? The best safety of all time.

What's the main college group of people that play football? I'm sorry? College football. Where is football in college?

Okay. SEC. Whatever. So is Bethune-Cookman like a major?

No. I didn't think about saying. Well, neither was Jackson. They're playing at a high school.

Are they in the American? They're not in the American League. I don't have no fucking dick about college. I was going to say, who else did they play?

I could tell you that Deion Sanders is not doing Colorado when he really should have done FSU, but they didn't want him for some fucking reason, which is really stupid. Because they're okay with Norvell right now. They want to see how Norvell works out. I don't give a fuck.

It's Deon, it's fuckin' prime time. I know, I understand. " I don't want to talk too much about that game, because I'm sure one of the listeners will probably chime in on it, 'cause I don't want to talk about it too much. So, to answer your question, they play like FAMU, smaller college.

You know, listen, when you're a head coach, or you're becoming a head coach, and you want to get kind of into that realm, you're not gonna start. Right, right, right. You know, you're not going to start into the SEC or anything like that. So this is a stepping stone on his way to.

This is his first, yeah. If he does well, then he moves up. Yeah, right. Then other people will start courting him.

Ah, I see. So he's just a retired player. I mean, you make it sound like absolutely nothing. No, no, it's a big deal.

He's one of the greatest safeties. He's the greatest safety of all time. So he'll be good at coaching safeties. Well, it's a question of how, you know, how his demeanor is, and how, I think that, dude, I don't know, man, the brief conversations that I had with him.

Right. It was about cigars. No, man, you know, you could tell that he puts forth, even, like. I'm sure he's very good at it.

No, you know. I just didn't understand that was a smog and explain this. No, no, it makes sense what you said. They have to, you know, work their way up to a Purdue or a Michigan State.

But as a person, when you're having a conversation with other people, you got to understand. I've had a conversation. I'll stop talking. You want me to stop talking?

We're running out of time. We're not running out of time. How much time do you think we spent? We're at about 37 minutes.

33. Pretty close. Okay. Nice.

So, when you have a conversation with a person, especially as a coach, what you always try and do is you try and figure out what you need to say to unlock that person and have maximum potential out of them. And when I saw him fucking engaging and talking, when he was, when he wanted to, when he wanted to have a conversation with somebody, you could see that he knows how to fucking do that. Right. So how does that, you know, how does that look as a, as a coach for an entire football team?

You know, it's kind of to be determined, but I'm sure he has done some things coaching wise, um, on a smaller level. Yeah. Well, you don't want to go big anyway, cause there's just a publicity stunt. Yeah, man.

I'm excited for him. He's a good dude. Yeah, he's very nice. Yeah.

I like him. Yeah. Fucking Tom Brady kryptonite right there. That is.

He was. A bad motherfucker. Oh. Hey, you want to do a little bit of news, man?

The three, four stories? Sure, you want to rush into it? Rush into it? From the four corners of the world, all the cigar industry news you could possibly need.

The Cigar Hustler Podcast Report with Mike Toon. One of the most visited cigar stores in the world will be closing at the start of the new year, Michael. What? Actually, it closed today.

Sosa Family Cigars in Disney Springs, Florida has its final day on Monday, January 2nd. Today is the day. It's done. It's over, Johnny.

It ends a more than 25-year partnership between the Sosa family and Disney. The family previously had a cigar bar called Fuego by Sosa, which was located at Disney's Pleasure Island until it closed in 2013. "Honestly, it was just time," said Arby Sosa in a message to Half Wheel. We had an amazing run over 25 years.

The last two years were the best two years when it came to sales. We were thankful for Disney for having our family as a tenant for over a quarter of a century. While Disney banned smoking inside all the parks in 2019, the store's location at Disney Springs, technically outside of the confines of the park, technically, meant that smoking was still allowed. Without my cousin Alex Sosa running the show, the store wouldn't have been amazing as it was for many years, said Arby Sosa.

In addition to the stores, the Sosa family sells cigars under the name of the Antillian Cigar Corporation, Family's Tobacco, Roots, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah. So, they're closing. So, why are they closing? Because Disney kicked them out?

" Wow, what type of money do you have to have to be able to say that? That's power right there. Yeah, power. Shut them the fuck down.

Yeah, shut them the fuck down. Shut it down. But you can't smoke in there anyway. I mean, you could inside the building, but not outside.

Correct. There's three seats in there, last time I was there. Yeah, maybe. Maybe.

I could tell you this, though. What? Nobody stopped me and Skip. We were walking around Disney Springs fucking smoking.

Well, let's skip. Do you know who I am? Do you know who I am? I am Skip.

What type of money do you have to have to be able to smoke cigars in Disney? Well, when he walks around, it falls out of his pockets. Sir, sir. I'm very sorry, sir.

You have to put that down. Yes, I'm very sorry for you, too, because I'm not putting it down. It's out, man. That's usually the move.

You look at it, you know, because you can't tell if it's lit normally. I mean. Well, there's smoke coming off of that. Yeah, but no, you just bullshit with them.

It's out, man. I'm just carrying it around. It's fucking, don't worry about it. Like, sir, it's smoking.

No, it's not. It's a vape cigar. No, it's not. Really realistic vape cigar.

Fuck out of here. It's actually, yeah, it's just water. It's just water. Yeah, no, I'm vaping, bro.

This is a vape. It's okay. Don't worry, man. It's weed.

What kind of cigars do they carry? Relax. It's medicinal. They sold a lot of hand-rolled.

Yeah, they have their own hand-rolled. And then they sold a lot of Opus. Okay. But the prices were fucking weird.

Yeah. Well, it doesn't. Yeah, man. I mean, you're in a tourist area.

Cordoba & Morales, they carry those there. Yeah, yeah. Believe me, I'm not hating. I'm just a little jealous.

I mean, I'd fucking love to sell a hand-rolled cigar for fucking 10, 15 bucks. I mean, come on. Oh, you want this? 10, 15 bucks?

Hey, don't smoke it here, by the way. Get the fuck out. I mean, holy shit, what a fucking, that's amazing! Do they have like a bar in there or something?

No, it's not a big store. It's three chairs. It's super fucking small. Three seats.

They crushed. They fucking crushed. For years they crushed. They made tons of money.

Well, they used the bigger place over in Pleasure Island. Fuego? It was like the C word. With the crown.

Oh. It was like that. It was Cunty? Yes, it was Cunty.

That's what we call them. Oh, okay. Cunty Crown. Cunty Crown.

We need to get in one of these stadiums. Yeah, man, let's go. Yeah. You can smoke in stadiums?

No, they have little cigar, like, lounges in some of these football stadiums and stuff like that. They do. Gotcha. I read the ones on cruise ships are starting to open back up.

Are they? Yes. I actually had some friends that just went on a cruise, and there was one of them. Everybody's cruising right now.

You cruised. I cruised. My wife's been on a cruise. I haven't.

You have not cruised. I'm trying. The mailman has cruised, like, three times. Chet's about to take a cruise.

Chet's cruised. He's about to go in January. Cruise, Cruise, Tom Cruise, Cruise. It's very affordable right now.

Is it? 'Cause they're trying to get people back on the boat. Please come back on the boat. Can we smoke cigars?

Uh, now this last one I didn't take any 'cause it was only three days. Can I smoke on the Disney Cruise? Uh, no. Why not?

Why not? There's no smoking in the park, no smoking on a boat. No, there's gotta be smoking. No.

Usually up on deck there'll be a cigarette area. Yeah. What we used to do in the previous years, we would find a bar towards the back of the boat, tip the bartender big, And then he would just let you smoke on one of the outside. On Disney?

Um, I think we did smoke on, oh, Disney sells cigars in, yeah, the Disney sells cigars in the coffee shop thing, by the grown-up pool. So I can smoke. Yeah, up on deck, I think, I think the back's where we went, we have a lovely bar in the back, like on the fantail of the ship, so you go inside, you get your drink, you come outside, and you're smoking, and bartender hides you. I don't, I think I would drink more alcohol if I could smoke cigars.

Yeah, some of them they go, well, upstairs, in the back, behind the smokestack, you could smoke a cigarette. I don't want to smoke a cigarette. Can I connect my phone? Because the guys that are smoking cigars ain't buying wells.

Right, yeah. Right. True. Yeah, I saw a lovely photo of a...

Who are we calling? Hold on, I'm gonna find out. Find out who we're calling? Yeah.

Oh, worked on that. You don't know either? I have to hit the button. Russian Roulette.

Hold on. Do I need to hit the button? I'm calling you... Andrew, we're calling Andrew, what's his name?

Keep going, that's not it. Who else? Get ready. I don't know.

Skip. We're calling Skip. No, no. Who else?

Who are we calling? We're calling a cruise expert. Oh, he's calling Mike the Mailman. No.

He's calling... Chat. You don't know who this is. Oh.

Let's see if he answers. Is he going to say Disney Cruise Line? I don't have an up over here, it's up. That's it?

It's on your phone. It's up all the way. This is up all the way to. On the side.

Sounds so low. And when they talk, it'll be louder. That is riveting entertainment. I'm sorry.

Oh. Hello. I'll make him get back to us. Was it a travel agent?

I think he does it for a living. Yeah, he does that. Cruises for a living? He cruises for a living.

He's a cruise man. Oh, nice. Why haven't we all been on a cruise with the cruise maker? Mike, you can't go on a cruise.

Because I'm waiting for Teddy to be four. Oh, that's right. Your wife won't go on a cruise. She'll go on the cruise.

She's afraid Mike will show her over to throw up. Brittany, Danielle. She thinks you're going to throw up. We're going to go on the Disney cruise.

For years, she's like, no, he will throw me off the back of the boat. I'm not going to throw you off the back. It's going to be fun. We're going to have a good time.

You can drink heavily. It'll be great. Oh, yeah. I'll get the drink package.

I'll drive nowhere. I'll get the drink package for you. Nice. It'll be amazing.

The kids will have a good time. They're going to love it. If you're taking children, I recommend the Disney one. Of course.

Who the fuck am I going to leave my kids with? I gotta bring them. Well, all the ships have a kids thing. Yeah, yeah.

But Disney, there's no casino. The center of the casino floor is the kids thing. Yeah, and you know exactly where they are at all times. Oh, yeah, they give you these bracelets.

They give you a thing, yeah, yeah. They take exactly where they are. You have to check them in and out. Do you go in the casino on the other ones?

I walk through it. I don't gamble. I'm not a gambler. I'm cool to be, I just want a pool.

You just want a pool? Pool, some alcohol, and really this. The Disney grown-up pool is very small. You don't want to get in the other pool.

It's full of the kids. That's where the kids pee. Well, there's lots of chlorine. Oh.

So you don't think the adults that are drinking, they don't pee? Not as much as the children. You're out of your fucking mind. I grew up with a wind while, bro.

They all pee. Dude, they all pee. The last time we were on Disney. Gigantic pool of pee.

My parents took us one year. We're in the adult pool, and they're all talking about where the kids are and what the kids are doing. They look at us and go, what are your kids doing? Oh, no, no, where are the kids?

Mom and dad's over there. Where are the children? Where are your kids? I'm like, what?

Yep, we didn't bring our kids! Oh. We have our wristbands. We have wristbands.

Yeah, they know where I'm at all the time though, look at it. See, I'm right here. I'm at the point. All right, Round Supreme Leaf Toro, shipping in February.

Oh. They have found a way to do another Supreme Leaf. I've been waiting. Round Supreme Leaf?

Round Supreme Leaf. Round Supreme Leaf. The sixth relief, or agronosis, Supreme Leaf. You know what we're gonna do?

You know what we're gonna do? We're gonna make this one round. Right. They'll never, they'll never know what's coming.

We'll also be the Lions first, Fitola, that is not box-pressed. Check me out, check this out. Well, you can't press a round leaf. Four minute abs.

Yeah, that's right, that's right. Aganoza Leaf formally announced the Supreme Leaf Toro 6x52 Parejo that will be shipped to storage in February like the rest of the line is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco, capped off by a Corojo 99 wrapper. 99 per cigar. Oh, a penny under the BDP, they're trying to undercut me.

Those rat bastards. And it's limited to 2,750 boxes of 10 cigars. You know, we re-released those BDPs in two years, and they're going to be a value cigar at this point. Everything's 18 bucks.

This one is a low, low price. Demand for Supreme Leaf continues to grow. I really don't think... You know, what's really kind of crazy is that this made news for you.

That means there's nothing going on. Right, there's nothing. I'll tell you. This is the highlight, brother.

This is it. This is it. More states are banning flavored tobacco. Did you watch The Glass Onion?

Let me ask you that. What is The Glass Onion? The Glass Onion, the sequel to Knives Out? No, I saw it.

It's pretty good. Is it good? Yeah, I watched it. Oh.

That was funny. That's more news than fuckin'... Yeah, they had a pretty good cast. Kate Hudson.

Yeah, there was a lot of good people on it. I don't like the James Bond guy. Daniel Craig? No, no.

I like him. I don't like his character. Oh, come on. He smokes cigars.

It's relatable for me. Anybody smokes cigars. If you smoke cigars, I'm like, ah, yeah. Tulsa King.

Tulsa King. Tulsa King. Sylvester Stallone smokes cigars. That's my guy.

Did you watch Yellowstone yet? I did. I watched Yellowstone. Don't talk about it.

Let me tell you something. I'm glad it's fucking over and they're going into this hiatus. Yeah. How many more times do I see a cow getting roped?

You didn't even fucking need these six episodes of whatever the fuck it was. It was just fucking atrocious. You took what could have been summed up in about 30 fucking minutes, and it made it six hours long. All the fluff footage is in and out of cows running and guys lassoing things and branding stuff.

So I talked to Brittany and I said, if I see another fucking, if there's another 10 minute fucking thing of herding, a lot of slow motion, give me, I get it, this is what you do, yes, I understand, it is an integral part of the whole fucking storyline, you don't have to shove it down my fucking face every goddamn episode, okay? Lovely footage. And everyone's in love now. Excellent cinematography.

Yeah, it's just amazing. Yep. Very beautiful scenery. Yeah.

Yeah. Oh, he's covered his ears. They've officially jumped the shark. I'm terrified.

I'm going to tell you right now. Somebody's got to die. I want to see a sibling die. The end of the set.

Well, you saw the end. Could go either way. I did see the end. Him or her?

Yeah. Oh, that's right, because he's doing it. Well, yeah, that's a good cliffhanger. But I'll tell you right now, if he misses, oh, boy.

Oh, boy. Well, even if he gets her. Oh, yeah, that's true. It better look like a snake in the, uh, a snake in a cooler would be the least of his problems.

Yeah, no shit, no shit, you have to kill his girlfriend too. Oh, she's got to go. Oh, well, yeah, she's gonna, maybe that's who they kill. Hmm.

She's, she's gonna die at some point. You think so? She has to. I would feel good about that at this point.

Oh, I would too, I would. Yeah, I would, I'm rooting for her to die. 'Cause they would very upset the other guy. I'm, I'm rooting for her to die.

Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I feel good about that. Yep, yep. Adventura Barbaroja.

I can't even pronounce it. B-A-R-B-A-R-R-O-J-A. It's a made-up word, so it can be anything you want. Barbaroja.

Barbaroja's Invasion Corona. Barbaroja. The annual PCA Convention Trade Show is one of the few times that Cigar Houser Podcast staff is together in the same place. No, we're always here together.

We're always here. Yeah, most of the time when they're there, we're not actually around another. Instead, we are off learning a new... What is all this, Charlie?

It's called the Barbarojo Invasion Part of the Company's Ongoing Story, the Adventures of Adventura. We should have hit him with the price increase press release. Let's load that in. You need to send him one.

I'll have to do that. Should have did it last week. Alright, well, Adventura's coming out with a new cigar. I thought it was a nice little piece to say because the factory burned them.

They did have that whole fire thing. Right, right. SP-1014, Black debuting in January. , the company.

That's the Sanj Patel. Yes, the company owned by Sanjay Patel, Sanjay Smoke Shop in Bloomfield, New Jersey, will be releasing its second blend, and its SP1014 line is being made by Eladio D. Eladio. Our friend Eladio.

It's the only reason I got stories, so we can talk about Eladio. Eladio. The SP1014 black uses a mannequin wrapper, barrel-aged Mexican San Andreas binder, and an undisclosed mix of five different Eladio fillers. Undisclosed.

It's being offered in four sizes. I can't believe they're doing undisclosed. Nobody does that in the industry, right? Well, it's 2023.

That's right. No, no, fuck that. We're all undisclosed. Not telling anybody what's in anything anymore.

I mean, the fact of the matter is, do we really fucking know? No. You know, other than make it up, it's easier to say undisclosed. Yeah, I mean, you know.

Unless you know the factory, and you trust them 100% complicitly, then you'll know. As for production, Patel. But if you don't know the factory. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to.

If you don't know the facts, if you're just like a handshake kind of friend kind of guy, whatever the fuck. You're over here now. If you're just a handshake kind of friend guy, whatever the fuck. They'll put whatever the fuck they want in your cigar.

They're gonna. So, you know, I hope they make it good. But even if you told me what it was, I mean, Ashton Cigars lied for years about the heritage. They fucking changed the wrapper without even telling anybody.

They went from Cameroon to fucking Habano. Didn't say a fucking word. It was the wrapper. It wasn't even the filler.

I mean, come on, man. Do you really fucking know? Do you really want to know? I don't think you want to know.

Go ahead. Back to two. Yes, yes, yes. We want to know.

Back to two. Back to two. Thank you. It was good.

As for production, Patel told Cigars Podcast that the line will be ongoing production, but limited to 300,000 cigars each year. Is that really a limit, 300,000 cigars? I mean, if you think about it, in the grand scheme of things, yeah, that's not a lot of cigars. Well, let's say like Romacraft puts out a million cigars a year.

Okay. This is over a quarter of their... Almost four times. Is that really limited though?

I mean... I would say it's limited. I don't know. So what?

It's not limited if it's all one million of them? Look, man. Here's what I can tell you. Yes?

Ronnie's all about this cigar. Oh, is he? Yeah. Oh, is that part of your phone call today?

Yeah. You need to buy this? No, he didn't say that. Oh.

But I'm interested. Yeah? I'm definitely interested. And I've sat with Sanjay before.

He probably doesn't remember me, which is fine. I wasn't as big. I was a little bigger at that point. Maybe he was the big guy.

But now I was the medium guy back then. Oh, gotcha. The medium standard guy. I was the younger guy.

Yeah, the younger guy. Right, the younger guy and the medium guy. Yeah, medium younger guy. Right.

I would carry it. It's also in a limited number of retailers. Yeah, I would carry it. So they're making it very limited.

Double limited. Double limited. Cigarbo Limited. Uh, let's see, the cigar will launch on January 7th at Sanji Smoke Shop, but will also be available to a limited number of retailers as like the original, oh, did we get the love and passion?

I'm all about supporting other retailers, too. Yes. And he's, he's very, very interesting. If you go into a shop, you're not gonna be bored.

Oh, really? It's a nice shot? Uh, he's usually there and he usually holds court. Oh.

So. Does he dogleg these? Yeah. Oh, he does.

he does but dude dude he's fucking yeah what do you mean he holds court talks to people like the way i hold court oh okay you know what i mean said though they're talking about great he is yeah i just said you know how i talk about how great i am all the time like no we have a you have an intellectual conversation about things when there's perspective and views and stuff like that okay it gives you your true his true opinion yeah yeah and that's fun i enjoy that instead of saying hey i'm fucking awesome you know what i mean buy my cigar i am i am a retailer and i sell grit cigar you know what i mean like that's fucking oh sorry oh sorry oh are we boarding it very sorry very sorry very sorry uh let's see patel said that the production on that line is also increasing to 300 000 cigars per year per size with plans to add five more retailers that carry the cigar oh maybe you can give me one of the five five more he's adding five more retailers retailers possibly Probably you. Very positive. It could be you. Could be you.

Hello, I would like you to carry my cigar, please. I think that, you know, that's a no-brainer. I don't mind carrying this stuff. Yeah?

Yeah. We should call him. Does that tell you the price? Hmm.

I don't know. I skipped that part. What's retail? You want to guess at it?

Uh, oh! This is very, this is good. Guess, guess. Alright, uh, there's a five by fifty-four.

Uh-huh. Guess. Seven dollars. Ten.

Okay. Six by fifty-four. Nine. Say 8.

8. 11. Wow. 7x54.

Say 9. 9. 12. Okay.

That says only three sizes. 12. 10, 11, and 12. A 5-pack for 50, a 5-pack for 55, and a 5-pack for 60.

Straight math all the way across. There you go. Easy peasy Japanesey. Oh, God.

It's COVID. No, it's not COVID. I'm fine. Maybe.

If you go down, then he's got to give you CPR. I hope you're counting on Phil. You wouldn't give me CPR? All right, I'll give you CPR.

Fuck it. I'm making out though a little. I'm slipping the tongue. That's right.

Just like a regular day. Yeah, it's standard here at Cigars. Standard here at Cigar Hustler. Yeah.

All right, anything else? We're at 52. We're doing good. I mean, I probably would have got us to 60 if Phil didn't get all fucking hoity-toity about me talking.

Yeah, I know. Do you have anything to add, Phil? Do you have a question for us, Phil? Yeah, Phil.

Phil always has questions. Yeah, Phil, what do you got, Phil? Yeah, I would like to know the first place we are going this year. The first place we are going this year?

Yeah, for cigars. I'm going to tell you right now. Is he going? There are a lot of variables into that statement.

I'm in the industry. There are a lot of variables into that statement. Thanks a lot, Brett. Thank you very much.

And I'm going to tell you. " Yeah. And the first variable is if I'm taking my son to Royal Rump. So you haven't solidified this yet?

That's coming up. No, I haven't. Because I tabled it. I wasn't going to do it.

Are the tickets available? Yeah, yeah. You can buy fucking tickets ten minutes before you. You can buy tickets the day off, probably.

You're not kidding me? Yeah, yeah. It just costs more. Yeah.

You didn't pull the string? No, I didn't. No, no. I would never do that.

I could do it for you. I don't care. " I'm just not that guy. Oh.

You know? And then I'm also, I said, where's my wine? And then I'm also not that, I'm also not that guy that would get the cigars and be like, oh, you get one, and you get one, and you get one, and you get one, and fuck you, hold on, you wanna get into this, okay, you call the meeting, you call the meeting, you call the meeting on Wednesday, let's go, motherfucker, you call the meeting on Wednesday, I call the meeting, I brought one for everybody to the meeting, you couldn't come to the meeting, okay, so then yours went to Mark Gordon because he was there when I gave one to everybody else, really, yes, actually, and when the fuck did you give Steve's upstairs? Actually.

I brought Steve a separate one. At a different time. I always said to take care of Steve, so I took care of Steve. So, every time that you have seen me, you could have given me one, and you chose not to.

I didn't see you last week. Hardly all. You didn't see me last week? Hardly all.

It was one of the humidors for you. Hardly at all? Yes. So you only saw me three out of the five?

Or four out of the five days? No, no, no. Mine got taken out of my hand. And handed to Mark Gordon.

Yes. Right. Because yours was in here in the humidor. And then the next day, I didn't see you, so I gave yours to him.

And you know where my desk is, right? I'm not putting one on you. There's somebody to take it. Why not?

The only person who would take it is you, motherfucker. No, that's right. Yeah. But then I have to give Greg one.

What's wrong with giving him one? He won't smoke it. He smokes the same thing every day. Why wouldn't you give him a cigar?

He'll sell it. You know he'll sell it. It'll be on eBay. No, man.

I didn't think Greg would smoke it. So what? I mean, so what? Listen, if I was...

Greg always... Wait, wait, wait. Let me tell you. If I was sent cigars, I would definitely share with everybody.

You gotta take care of your people. This isn't hard. Fuck. Listen, I'll be the first to tell you, my brother's a fucking pain in the ass.

Right. But he's still my fucking brother. Well, I didn't think he was. And he still has your back.

Yeah. You know, the plate was very nice today, even though it was fucked up. It's still nice. You know what I'm saying?

Yeah. And here you are. I was not expecting that at all. Here you are with a cigar that nobody else has.

Right. It's a European exclusive. I can't get it. I mean, you have no problem with taking cigars off his desk, too, right?

No, he doesn't keep on his desk anymore. But if he did, you take them. No, then you're being exclusive. Whatever, it doesn't matter, whatever the case may be.

I mean, for one, he paid for those cigars, whether he paid wholesale or retail. For what cigars? If you take them off his desk. Oh, that's only stuff from reps.

I don't just take-- Or brokens. No, I don't take brokens. So it's only stuff from reps. So only the stuff that he spends money on with the companies that he gets technically for free, but he doesn't really get them for free because he buys cigars.

Right, those. Those cigars. Yeah. So it's justifiable?

Sure. So you don't want to be a good person and just give him a cigar? Well, I didn't think he would smoke it. Who cares?

Guess you got a point. I'm just saying, you forgot two people. Oh, you're gonna submit? I didn't forget you.

You submitted. You just put in your bag on Friday that went home with you. You forgot two people. No.

Yeah, no, no. " Yes, you would've. " You would've anyway, but I didn't see you. I see you.

Thursday, the only thing I saw Thursday is when you called down here asking for stickers when I was down here working. That's the only time I saw you Thursday. That's not true. Sure it is.

No. Yes. Last week. Oh, well, we had the meeting.

I had one for you during the meeting, but then you disappeared when I was on the phone. And, okay, so then why don't you just put it on my desk? Because I didn't go back upstairs. You gave one to Steve.

That was on Tuesday. I could have put mine on my desk on Tuesday. No, because I wanted to give it to you on Wednesday when we had the meeting so we could all smoke them together. If you don't want to own it, that's cool.

I'm perfectly comfortable owning my mistakes. If you don't own your mistakes, that's fine. I didn't make a mistake. I had one for you for three days.

Then what about Greg? Honestly, that's a mistake. Yeah. I didn't think he would smoke it.

He smokes the same thing every day. He might be an idiot, but he's my fucking idiot. I didn't say he was an idiot. I just didn't think he would smoke it.

You know what I mean? That's true. He's very set in his ways. That's exactly how I look at all of this.

You know what I mean? I'll break your fucking balls and I'll break his balls. But whoever did that post today Nobody else gets to break your fucking balls Right? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa You know, did you do that?

You did that post, right? Which one? The Goodfellas post Oh yeah, I did When we all make fun of everybody It's so true Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, who the fuck? I'm sorry, you're not qualified Yeah, right, you're not one of us No You're not in the industry So yeah, man You should go give him a fucking I have them, I'll go give them one today, because I have extra, because you don't want to do it on the show.

You're right, I'm not doing it on the show, I'm not smoking one, though, because it's out of principle. You smoked the one you took home. I didn't. Well, you still have it at home.

Don't worry, I'll give it back. I don't want it back. It's probably in my bag still. Might be.

Put it with your pills. It's probably there. Might be. Maybe I'll put it back and you won't even know about it.

No, because I don't keep them here. Well, maybe you'll find it here. It's a really good cigar, too. It is.

Oh, I smoked the, uh, oh, we're still having it for a little bit. I smoked the, uh, Bostonie, Connecticut today. Did you? Yes.

Oh. Oh. But I took the picture down because people were wanting to bite. Why not?

Just post it. Let 'em get upset and let 'em get crazy about it. Oh. We gotta build that hype, baby.

Let's go. Dana was the one who goes, oh, I'm gonna have that today. No, you're not. You don't have any.

That's what I said. It's a pre-production sample. No, because you know what? I think I had, what size did you smoke?

It was a Corona. So I had, at that point... You had six. No, I didn't have six.

I thought you had six. I think I had four or five. Maybe it was five. It was more than four.

So I smoked one. Right. Gained one to you, no problem. Right.

Greg smoked one. Okay. Tobacology smoked one. Did you smoke one?

Nope. No Connecticut whatsoever? No. I got one with your name on upstairs.

Aww. But I only have... Friend. Well, wait, he didn't originally give you one.

He's giving you one because he found out he didn't give you one. He just, maybe he didn't remember. For one, I didn't remember. And for two, it's not like I got a bundle of 20.

I know. That's why I didn't say anything. How many did I have? There's something up there on your desk now, is that more?

Yeah, no, there's a Habano Corona Gorda and a Brawleaf Corona Gorda. And I haven't smoked those yet, so I'm gonna smoke those. When I cleaned your desk, I saw them. Yeah.

But I just dusted off the plastic. I'll smoke those on the show. Are those coming soon? All of that's coming out this year.

Got it. Mm-hmm. It's going to be a fucking post-Danya fucking year. A post-Danya year.

Nice. We are going hard in the paint. Very hard in the paint. And it's very limited.

It's less than 300,000. Less than 300,000. Apparently, yes, that is the limited line now. Less than 300,000.

Anybody got anything else? What did you do for your New Year's? You asked him. Well, yeah, but he didn't ask, so I figured nobody was interested.

Oh. I thought you were at his house. No, I didn't go to his house. No, he didn't.

Where were you at? We went downtown Sanford with my wife's friends. Oh, nice. We had dinner at the district, which was delicious.

Oh, yeah? I've never eaten there before. The district. I've never heard of that.

It's on 2nd Street. Do you know where Loggerhead Distillery is? Nope. Oh.

I got to go to Tuffy's. Yeah. We got to go to Tuffy's. Yeah.

Isn't that where the guy disrespected you? No, that was... No, that's the yard house. Oh, yeah.

Backyard something. Yeah. We're supposed to go there and see him. What's that place called?

We're never going there. Jeff. Who's his name? Jeff?

Tim? Tom? Todd. Todd.

We're gonna go see Todd. Something Polish. Todd something Polish? Yeah, Tuffy's is great.

Yeah, Tuffy's is nice. Yeah, we should go there. Let's go. Okay.

Mary, where do you want to go? Right now. That is the event. Right now?

That is the first Powstanie event. No. Oh, no. Oh, we went to Jimmy's twice on New Year's Eve.

No, I mean, to be honest, I think the first Polstania event will either be... I mean, I'd love to do Hogshead. I fucking love that guy. He's a great guy.

Where's that at? Virginia. Oh, nice. Or Tobacology.

I mean, I'd definitely do one there. Oh, Tobacology. Yeah, Brett's the best. He's another good egg.

Ronnie at Secreto, Smoke on the Water. Oh, Ronnie Secreto would be good. I'd like to go there. You know what I mean?

Like, there are places that I'm like... Not Nickel City, there's a lot of snow there. No, I love Nickel City. You can't get there.

That would have to be a summer event. They sent me a picture of their New Year's Eve. They were all shoveling. They were all shoveling snow.

Yeah, they party hard. Oh, did you see what happened, Jeremy Renner? I heard he got fucked up on a snowmobile. I heard it was in a snow plow.

Oh. He was doing snow removal and got critically injured. They're not saying exactly what at this point, though. So I don't know if he tipped it over or hit a big bang.

Snow removal? Yeah, he's got a snow plow. He's up there, what, he lives in Colorado. That's a lot of snow.

Now if I had Jeremy Renner money, I don't think I'd be touching a fucking snow plow. I wouldn't be fucking... Maybe he likes it. Yeah.

Because he said last week he was doing donuts in his Jeep. So I'm assuming there was some fuckery with the snow plow. Yeah. Probably some donuts in the snow plow.

Maybe. Well, I hope he gets better. Yeah, he's stable now. That's good.

Well, yeah, and even for the Marvel movies. Wait a second. Jeremy Renner? Yeah.

You thought he said Renner. The fucking Hawkeye? Yeah, Hawkeye. Oh, man, I love that guy.

I know. I thought it was the other guy. The other Jeremy Piven. I thought it was that.

Oh, Jeremy Piven? No, no, I don't like him. I saw a thing he did the other day. It was funny, though.

Whose car are we taking? Whose car are we taking? That guy. That guy, right?

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Something like Bostonism.

Yeah, Hawkeye. Yeah, Hawkeye. Right. Fuck.

Jeremy Piven did part of his act, and in it he talks about how he's been to acting school and all this stuff. Yeah. But the number one, the actor that makes the most money right now is The Rock, who didn't do any acting at all. Never been to acting school before in his life.

That's right. He's The Rock, bro. Right. I know, but he was comparing himself to The Rock.

" Oh. So what? Well, he's saying the number one actor never learned how to act. Wait, dude.

It's a comedian. It's a joke. I don't, you know, I don't appreciate anybody attacking the rock. Oh, I know you got a rock thing, I understand.

It's my guy. He can't act, though. Yeah, he can. Yes, he can.

No, he can't. No, he can't. Shh. Okay, what's his worst movie ever, then?

They've already taken, oh, it could have been Black Adam first. Scorpion King. Oh, Scorpion King, he was mostly... And that wasn't even that bad.

He was mostly CGI in Scorpion King. Yeah. He was all cartoony. Black Adam's already off HBO.

It's gone? They already took it down. Quick. Yeah.

Up, down. It wasn't a bad movie. It was just he doesn't play that part normally. It was good.

I thought he did a good job. I enjoyed the movie. Yeah, it was good. I didn't like the movie.

I'm not a DC guy, though. I don't like most DC movies. You're just very angry. Well, DC's more dark anyways.

I don't mind the dark, but at least they got their special effects fixed. Like in Justice League, it was terrible. I thought it was good. I like Black Adam.

Black Adam. No, Justice League was horrible because it was like three hours. Ben Affleck is not Batman. And the new Batman is not Batman either.

They need to fucking... No, no, no. Bring it back. Clooney.

Clooney is not Batman. He was a good Batman. Look, when you just... When you take...

I'm sorry, we're totally off subject here. Yeah, and we're way over. But the fact of the matter is... Right.

I'm just gonna end it at this and we'll just get the fuck out of here. No, this is stuff people like. When you're sitting in a room with us. This is what we do upstairs.

When Batman says I'm no longer vengeance or some shit... It's not vengeance. more, some shit like that. Was that the new sparkly vampire guy?

Yeah, he's like all up in his fucking feelings. I'm like, bro, get the fuck out of here with that shit. You're supposed to be this fucking jaded, angry individual that is beating the living piss out of crime because that is like your fucking one fucking thing. The sparkly Batman one, was he supposed to be a younger Batman?

I guess. And then it's like, you know, you're a billionaire. We're gonna put you in like a charger that's kind of decked out. Like, what the fuck?

Are you No, I'm sorry. It's not okay. It's not okay. It's not okay.

This is not okay. Who would be your Batman pick? Oh, The Rock! Jesus, Kirk.

Who would be my Batman pick? I have no fucking idea, but it ain't that guy. Bring Michael Keaton. I have one.

Go ahead, tell me. Matt Hardy. You mean Tom Hardy? Tom Hardy.

Sorry. Matt Hardy's a wrestler. His brother. Matt Hardy.

You know, the guy with the... I think Tom... You know what, bro? You're right.

Tom Hardy would be good. Tom Hardy would make a fucking awesome... He's an awesome Batman. Yeah.

Very majestic. He knows all that judo, too. No, does he? He's a judo.

He's a cigar guy, so you know he's got points as far as I'm concerned, like fucking W. Wow. Jerry Piven makes his own cigar, he could be Batman. Nah, that guy's way, he's fucking wishy-washy, he's all over the place.

He would know it's him anyways, because of his accent. Lloyd! I mean, Alfred! Alfred!

No, that wouldn't work. Yeah, I'd do Tom Hardy. I can see that. Fuckin' A.

I would actually like Batman though. I mean, I love him in Peaky Blinders. Like when he allegedly died in Peaky Blinders. I was like, oh man.

Oh, so upsetting. We used to be best friends. Write that down. Okay.

We. We. We're drunk. Anybody got anything else?

Now we're just ran. Yeah, yeah. Oh, he doesn't. Cigar Shop of the Week.

Shop of the Week. Oh, by the way, the listener of the week last week was very excited. Josh. Yes.

I know. He's a good guy. He put a post up. Tagged us in his post.

That was nice. Josh, my guy. Shop of the week, Michael. It's fucking Tabacology.

They send them presents. Yeah. Oh. And he obviously listens.

He can be listening to the week too. What's the week is? Brett. Brett Fry.

Brett Fry. Oh, you got a double. There you go. And he's a Patreon, because he loves us and believes in us.

Patreon of the week. Maybe in 2023 he'll get his show up here. If you love us and believe in us, you'll pay you the Patreon. Maybe get your show ready.

Let's go, baby. Come on. We gotta get that number up. Well, if we go out there, we'll spend the day and just do your show.

Let's put everything together for you. Well, if we go out there, maybe we do a podcast there. Oh, you got equipment, apparently. That's what we should do.

When we do, here's what I'm thinking. Right? I know we're running. Well, is this Patreon stuff?

We can switch it to Patreon. No, no, no. I'm gonna run. Let's do this natural.

Okay. Because we're not gonna be able to do the Patreon today. We're going to do Patreon today. We're going to do Patreon.

Yes, we are. We're getting it in. Okay. Dude, you're not coming the rest of the week?

We're getting it in. That's what I mean. Here's what I'm thinking. Yes.

We do releases for all the Postana stuff. Okay. At specific places. Oh!

That's a good idea. All right. So, we'll talk to fucking our retailers or whatever. Right.

And if you're an excited retailer and you want to reach out to me because you listen to the podcast, let me know. And we'll strategically do the podcast at those locations as well. Oh. Yes.

What do you think? It's okay with me. Okay. I think we should do it.

Sure. Make the show on the road in 2023. Yeah. We're all in, baby.

Yeah, baby. We'll get a van to drive around. We're fucking pushing for greatness. God damn it.

We are going to crush this fucking industry. Yes. If somebody liked to advertise, that'd be nice to pay for all this. Whatever.

Just put it on the fucking... Does Drew State want to back us for the road show? No. The Drew State Road show to distribute Pestañas.

That sounds like a great idea. It's not going to happen. No. No, no.

No, no, no. They have rules. Look, if Jonathan Drew wants to join the Patreon, he can't though. You know what I mean?

Like, that's where we're at. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That'll never happen either. All right.

Well, you can get him a t-shirt and everything. All right. Thank you so much, everybody. We appreciate your support.

Thank you so much, everybody listening. No, that's a portion of the show, Michael. These people here for free. A Cigar Hustlers podcast, its owners, and its sponsors take no responsibility for the opinions or statements made by the talk show host or their guest.

I couldn't get past Hojo! I don't even have to try it. He's not even going to try it. We're going to cover a lot of ground here, Mike.

All right. Try to keep up. That's a sign of a good podcast. It'd be like four cigars when I walked in a door.

All right, end this.
