Cigar Hustlers Podcast Episode 230 Turtle Army

Cigar Hustlers Podcast Episode 230 Turtle Army

Episode Summary

Episode 230 of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast is the first recorded in the crew's new studio, and Mike Szczepankiewicz kicks things off with a public service announcement about RoManCraft's "The Craft" — the release is delayed out of Nicaragua, nobody in the United States has it yet, and pre-orders will be honored, so customers should ease up on their retailers. He also introduces the new Pospiech x Room101 collaboration, the Shepherd (banded "Ezekiel"), the follow-up to their first joint release "Who Shot You," which ships to retailers in 10-count bundles with Mike's and Matt Booth's signatures on the band. The guys recap a relaxed RoMa Craft event at Cigar Hustler, a weekend at Universal Studios, a boat trip that produced a giant sea turtle sighting (and a rant about paper straws), and Mike's take on an 80-year-old Paul McCartney playing nearly three hours without a break.

The news block leads with the industry's newest lawsuit: J.C. Newman Cigar Company has sued Levy Café, Inc. — better known as Cubanacan — in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida over the trademark for "The American." The hosts walk through the timeline (J.C. Newman filed in June 2016 and released in 2019, while Cubanacan's bourbon-infused Cubanacan Delicioso Cabinet Selection The American arrived around August 2016) and speculate about intent-to-use filings, cease-and-desist letters, and how a simple phone call between Bobby Newman and the Cubanacan side might have resolved it.

Other news covered: the Asylum 13 11/18 perfecto heading to TAA retailers (Nicaraguan puro, Habano wrapper, made at the CLE factory in Danlí, Honduras, 500 boxes at $9 per cigar); Altadis U.S.A. adding barber-pole Twisted Toro and Twisted Love Story vitolas to the Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real line (which the hosts roast for lazy naming); Crowned Heads bringing back Blood Medicine as an event cigar at Squire Cigars in Santa Rosa, now made at Tabacalera Pichardo instead of My Father, with the Nashville building history behind the name; the La Aurora Fernando León Legacy Lancero for PCA 2022 at $20 a stick; La Flor Dominicana Sol from Litto Gomez; the crowdsourced Punch The People's Champ robusto from General Cigar; Warped's Eagle's Descent returning for national release; and two limited editions joining My Father's La Gran Oferta/La Baja 1922-style line marking what would have been José "Don Pepin" Garcia family patriarch José Garcia's 100th birthday.

The show closes with two Florida stories — a Volusia County man who allegedly stole his girlfriend's rings to propose to his other girlfriend, and a Melbourne-area man calling himself "The Saint" who was arrested after threatening to unleash his "turtle army" — plus Listener of the Week Mark Gordon and Shop of the Week Lake Country Cigars.

We can, we can still see the little red light. Mm-hmm. We can. Through the tape.

Bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum. All right, we're obviously in the new studio. We are. For those of you that don't watch the other show, this show is now in the new studio, Tim.

We are, we are, we are. Uh, I wanna, can I talk about something real quick? You can do whatever you want, Mike. Off the rip?

Whatever you want. Um, okay, so listen, I'm getting a lot of emails and phone calls and Facebook messages and, um, other, give me camera one. Give me camera one. I'm getting a lot of emails and Facebook messages and phone calls.

In regards to the craft, the craft is coming. Okay? If you pre-ordered with me, I got you covered. You're good.

It's coming. You're going to get it. Calm down, Jules. Nobody has it.

I'm on the motherfucker. Tell them nobody has it. The product is delayed in Nicaragua, and it will get here eventually. So nobody has it.

Nobody in the United States has it. You don't have it. You're not missing out. I don't have it.

Nobody has it. Those ones we smoked at your house were amazing, though. Over the weekend. Yeah, all of them.

All of them, all of them. They were amazing. So they're going to get here. We're really going to like them.

They're going to get here, and if you pre-ordered with me, I got you covered. If you didn't pre-order with me, and you ordered with somebody else, don't break their balls. I mean, you guys fucked that up. Man, you really fucked that up.

You ordered from somebody else. Yeah, I mean, if you didn't order from somebody else, you really fucked that up. But, you know, why buy stuff from a dick? Right.

Maybe they're not a dick, maybe they're a good retailer. Either way, I'm going to tell you that you need to back up off your retailer, give them some space, Because they have nothing, they can, they're out of their control, and when it gets to them, you will get yours. So, that is all. Phil, please move me back to two.

Phil needs like a TV tray. He's just like, he's an ape. He's just a, he's just over here just fucking. He looks like, he kind of reminds me of the chef from the Muppets.

So, so the, so the Shepard is here. I'm going to put this out here. Trying very hard to be the Shepard. Yes.

So it says Ezekiel on it, but it's actually called the Shepard. I'll do whatever I want with it. It's my cigar. Whatever you want.

But yeah, we're going to do the press release. By the time this comes out, hopefully we'll send out the press release to everybody. Cutter's behind Phil. I have a fingernail.

Okay. We're good, Phil. Don't get up. Don't worry, Phil.

So yeah, this cigar is a collaboration with Poshik and Room101. It's our second collaboration. "Who Shot You" was the first one. You have your regular shot right there.

And this one's falling apart on me. That's never a good thing. Let's try that again. Because it was your fingernail?

I don't know. I think I just pressed on it the wrong way and opened it up. Oh, did you like me to do it for you? So this will be out.

We'll start shipping to retailers hopefully this week. And, um, cigar houses always last to get this type of product. If we, if there's stuff left over, we'll have it. If not, we take care of our retailers before we take care of ourselves.

So, uh, keep that in mind. com. P-O-S-P-I-E-C-H. Damn, you gotta go to work.

Gotta go to work, Michael. We gotta get these out. I know. I know we do have to go to work.

I almost used everything on the board and it's just two minutes in. Four minutes in. And you're like, you're on top of it tonight. That's right.

Well, I'm just sitting here doing nothing. There you go. Yeah. Alright, well, I have a cigar for you.

Oh! You can enjoy it. But now you need the cutter. No, I got a fingernail too.

And I have one for Phil. Do we have a lighter? The lighter's in the other room, Phil, on the other table. God damn it, Phil.

I'm going to give you this cigar. Earn your keep. Oh, God. Don't hit anything, please.

Oh, jeez. So, what'd you do over the holiday weekend? Holiday weekend was fun for me. First of all, we had a Roma event on Friday.

Yes. And that was pretty amazing. It was a nice crowd. It was a nice chill event.

Yeah, it was, you know... I think they can't get on camera, because there's that rule where if the camera shows up on camera, he gets paid like 50 bucks or something. Oh, is that how that works? It's like a union thing, yeah.

Oh, really? Right. He doesn't get paid at all? No, he didn't get paid at all.

He owes us 50 bucks. He owes us 50 bucks. He owes us 50 bucks. Yeah, he owes us an extra 50.

Yeah, so the event went great, man. You know, it's cool to have a lot of your regular customers really kind of support a brand. And, you know, they knew what they wanted. They bought by the box.

Even online, you know, some customers that I haven't spoken with in a long time, they came out and they were like, hey, I just want to support you, support the brand, blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, you know, and that was really cool. So thanks for coming out to the event, to the Rome event at Cigar Hustler. And thanks for all your online purchases.

And we're going to work on getting those polo shirts out to use ASAP, and well, we appreciate you. Am I right? Yes. It's funny that the cameraman, it's funny that Phil doesn't have a mic, so he can't say anything.

Not today. We'll get it worked out. He needs like a little TV tray over there by his chair. I was going to break his balls about the cigar, but I just handed it to him.

Oh. And you know, so. And then Saturday we did Universal Studios. Wasn't it busy?

Was it busy? Were you there with the Rosales? I did. I saw their photos.

I did. Oh, and the poor daughter got sick? She did. You know what?

It's your house. Your house is the stomach bug capital of the world. My house is the stomach bug, but nobody's sick. Well, because they gave it to her.

None of my kids are sick, though. But they gave it to her. But we are definitely. You guys are all immune.

We just carry it. You just carry it. It's just sustained in our home. Right, it just stays there.

I don't know if that was it, because she's the only one that got sick. So, normally... She's the girl. She's a little weaker than the boys.

Than the rest of them. She's the youngest. Okay. But like you would think that somebody else would have gotten sick of it.

Have you checked? Maybe Adrian's sick by now. I check on them all the time. I've checked like every day.

Hey, how are you? How are things? You know. Gotcha.

So. Hmm. It sounds like it was food poisoning or something. But yeah, so I went with, so it was just Michael and Adrian.

No Jamie, no Anna Marie. Oh, gotcha. And yeah, you know, got to hang out. We had a good time with the kiddos and everything and I mean we really got to get our shit together down the studio.

We have one fucking lighter, but this is a terrible. I've been down here by myself, Michael, for a week. I only needed the one lighter. You should have had that covered.

Three lighters. I took that one from upstairs. Where's my Zifee cool ass lighter? That thing's gone?

Oh yeah, no, no, it's over there. I got it. Wait, yeah, I should get those out. Yeah.

Yeah, it's a good idea. Even though they're no longer a sponsor. No, no, no, they're not. It's funny as I was watching some of their videos.

They don't answer anymore. They stop calling. What's funny is, I watched some of their videos, and everybody calls this shit differently. Yeah, it's a different name.

Zipi, Zipi, Zipi, I'm like, the Fifi. We thought they were French, we go with the Fifi. Oh, the Oui Oui. The Oui Oui, the Fifi.

So did Universal, wait, no, did Universal on Sunday, Saturday, I went to Paul McCartney. Oh, that's right. Yeah, man. That's right, you took your wife to a concert.

Yeah, we did Paul McCartney. Yeah, they're big concert people. Listen, I'm going to say some shit right now. And I'm going to, you got to, you got to let me get it off my chest without cutting me off.

Okay. Okay. All right. So out there, my microphone.

Okay. You don't have to. I'm just, I'm just, I'm just giving you a heads up. Okay.

All right. So this motherfucker, Paul McCartney. Yeah. He's going to be 80 next week.

Oh, that old. 80 years old. Oh, wow. Okay.

You know who opened for Paul McCartney? No. Fucking nobody. Yeah, he does it.

He starts at 8:15, he starts at 8:15, 8:20-ish, right? Right. What time is it supposed to start, 8? 8.

Everybody's a little late. 15, 20 minutes. There's always something. That's acceptable.

So, start around 8:20, the fucking guy was going at 11 o'clock. Wow. Right? So, this son of a bitch goes for almost damn near three fucking hours.

Never takes a break. Oh, really? No. No costume change?

Nope. " He said, "This is the one costume change. " It's all you're gonna get, though. He's hitting the bass.

He's hitting the guitar. He's hitting the ukulele. He's hitting the fucking piano. I mean, it was absolutely amazing.

Right? Right. Worked his ass off. I'm sure to him, it's probably not that hard anymore.

No, it's still three hours. Well, yeah, he's sweating. It's hot. I'm sure.

Well, it's Florida. Everybody's sweating. He's 80. Right, I know.

He's 80 years old. Right. Okay. See, my mother, I can't get my fuckin' mother to get in a fuckin' car and drive to Orlando for three hours without having 48 hours of recovery time from being in the fuckin' car.

Michael, hello? Your mic's off. Uh-oh. Hello?

There it is. Michael, it's so hot that I don't like you. I'm very tired. She's very tired.

I'm very tired, Michael, I can't make it. Like, I don't wanna hear- I should've never had you, then I'm gonna have to go to Orlando. I can't hear shit from anybody plus 75 years old of how fucking tired they are if I just watched Paul McCartney crush, I mean fucking crush for three hours. Like not even close.

You know, the only person who I thought, whose performance I thought was almost as good as Paul McCartney's this weekend was Jimmy Butler's. Because Jimmy Butler is the star of the Miami Heat. And that son of a bitch, he played on the court the entire time. Now he missed the last shot.

That's the concert thing. He missed the last shot, and then it cost him the game. I thought you were going to say Jimmy Buffett when you started. But no, this guy, I mean, he had a knee injury, and he still, I mean, he still busted his ass, you know.

It should have never went to seven, in my opinion. He should have won that shit. He should have played when he was hurt, but whatever. It doesn't matter, we're here now, and the guy worked his ass off.

But, I'm going to tell you right now, if my mom comes up from South Florida to Orlando. So does she drive herself, or does someone drive? I need to rest. And she's like 10 years younger than Paul McCartney.

So she drives three hours up here, has to rest for two days, and then drives back home for two days. " I need to rest. I need to rest a little. Anybody got a drink?

I need a drink. It's a long drive. It's a long drive. I need a drink.

I need to sit down. So she'll sit and she'll sleep or whatever at the Golden Child's house. Yes. And then, and then we'll usually see her like the next day.

Oh. Right. But the next day, she's still got to exit out at a reasonable time. I gotta leave early, I'm very tired.

Because she's very tired. Very tired. She's very tired. Paul McCartney's about to do another fucking show, I think today or tomorrow.

Oh, yeah, probably went to Tampa. Yeah, I mean, he's just out just fucking crushing. Right. So, I'm like, holy shit, I don't want to hear a fucking thing from you anymore.

Maybe it wasn't really him. It was definitely him. How do you know? I don't know.

Exactly. You know what, so the doctor actually gave me the tickets. Oh. Dr.

McCaskill? Okay. Yeah. So, my seats were definitely bigger than cigar retailer slap dick fucking level.

I mean, we were pretty close to the fucking stage. And it looked like him. Yeah? It looked like him.

Well, the lookalike, it's gonna look like him. I guess you got a point. Was there any lip singing? No.

Oh, that's good. He fucking sang the whole time? I hate when they lip sing. And then he came back out for an encore.

If you wanted to play the album, I'd stay home. He did like a duet with Lennon. Was he there too? No, well, I mean, the video recording was there.

Oh. Like, they worked it in. Oh, they put him up on the screen? Which is pretty fucking cool.

Oh, yeah? Yeah. I highly recommend that you go, somebody don't see this. Did he do the black and white thing with Michael Jackson too?

He did not do that song. Oh. Mm-mm. That'd have been nice.

He just duet with all the dead guys. No, but he had a thing where Johnny Depp was signing. Like, he was doing sign language. Johnny Depp?

Yeah, Johnny Depp was doing the sign language. Oh. For the song. Natalie Portman was on one screen and Johnny Depp was on the other screen, so we know that he's not with Amber Heard.

It's quite clear. Quite clear, yes. It's quite, it's quite apparent. Did they announce today?

Did the jury come back today? No, I don't know. I have no idea. They're, they're, they're sequestered or whatever.

It wouldn't, I mean, how does that, I don't know, man. I'm not a fucking, I'm not on, I guess it just takes one person to say, no, no, no, but, like, I don't, it just seems like a rap to me. I'm like, this bitch is doing blow on the fucking stands. Allegedly.

Oh, right. Drinking, you know, all sorts of things. I mean, there isn't any evidence, like, there's no one who came up for her. Right.

It was all, like, all Johnny's friends. All Johnny's friends. She apparently has none. The attorneys had their shit together.

I mean, how do you not walk into that room like, all right, let's just award them the 50 million and be on our way then. Give us some money and we'll just be done. We can all go home. We should just, okay, moving on now.

All right. Somebody is in that room saying, hold on, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a second.

Wait a minute. Did you see the bruises? There were bruises. Yeah, I don't know.

I did see a funny joke, though, that somebody said, instead of saying number one or number two, moving forward, are you going to say, I got an R. Kelly or I got an Amber Heard? I got to go R. Kelly.

I got an R. Kelly. If I got Amber Heard, I'm like, damn, that's so funny. I just Amber Heard here.

Yeah, I broke in the studio. This is the first one I've smoked by. This is actually good. Well, you thought it would be bad?

No, no, I'm just surprised. This is surprisingly a good cigar. This is surprisingly a good cigar. Of course, it's a fucking good cigar.

It's even got my signature on it, and a little scribble. Yes, and Mr. Booth on the other side. Yeah, yeah, that was his little touch.

He's like, can you send me your signature? I'm like, my signature looks like a fucking doctor. Right, everybody goes, what is that? I go, well, that's how Michael signs his name.

Yeah, I'm not devoted to my last name at all. I'm just... Well, you'd need a bigger band to start with. You know what it is?

I say it in my mind as I'm scribbling it enough, I feel like that translates. This is it here? Yeah, that's the "Z" at the end. " Yeah, well, yeah, so, yeah, I've been smoking these, I've been smoking the shit out of these.

Hope we have some to sell. Well, we at least have the four. Well, there's still four left now, so they're coming in 10 count bundles, very excited. Yes, and Ronnie, they're coming in bundles, no UPCs, no boxes.

" Oh, Cigar Source Rex went after him? Did he? Yeah, yeah, they said that he was doing something with hair plugs or something. Oh, nice!

Which is really funny. Because I don't think that Ronnie's that type of guy that needs hair plugs. No. No.

No, his dad still got hair, too. No, yeah, he's got a lovely head. Pop still got hair. Yeah.

So, uh, he's... So, I don't know what that's about, but it was fucking entertaining, you know? Um, yeah. Yeah, I like Cigar Source Racks, it's pretty funny sometimes.

It's a very good cigar, man, you gotta mix it up, thanks. What'd you do this weekend? Uh, we went to the neighbor's pool one day, 'cause they weren't home. Oh, Kenny's.

Kenny, yeah, Kenny's pool. He texted us and told us he was gonna be out of town, and we didn't want to use the pool, we used the pool. So, plans fell through with Chet, because, I don't know if you saw on Facebook, Chet's pool broke. It took him about 15 hours, but he did fix it himself.

I did not see that. Yes. His pool broke? Yeah.

Yeah. He needed a $4 part, couldn't find it anywhere in town. And he eventually found it. And then he bought the wrong size.

And I had to go back and get another one. This dude, Chet is a fucking mess. Chet is a fucking mess. Pool's lovely now though, it's beautiful.

I'm sure it is. But it took him 12, 15 hours to get it. That sounds about right for Chet. Wait for Chet.

Yeah. " We're on our way. Adrian was already asleep, it was after nine. Was that on Memorial Day?

No, that was Saturday. Oh. Sunday, we went boating with some friends of Adrian from our new school. Oh, a little boating.

The man was a retired submarine guy, and then the lady works with Adrian at the school. They have a lovely house, lovely boat. So Chet was like, "Hey, you guys can come over," but oh no. oh oh no who says oh no oh yeah nevermind I gotta get to the right thing yes yes he's in Texas right now you're no longer like oh no oh no Brett Fry said that we ruined you know your friend Brent yes yes Brent he said that we ruined developing palettes for him because now all he says is here oh no oh no and I text him back hey uh when's that uh that video coming I text him I text him back we're horrible people I don't know what to tell you.

Two and a half weeks ago, it was being edited. Still editing. Still editing. Speaking of getting to shit eventually, did you send our contract to Cigar Noise Boys?

No, I haven't yet. I've been very busy. You have been very busy. And they need to get a tattoo.

And now we're rubbing the stakes. We're rubbing the stakes. One of you have to get tattooed, just so you know. And I heard he doesn't even listen to our show.

That doesn't surprise me. Our friend John was on their show last week. I mean, so then if he doesn't listen to the show, it's kind of funny the fact that I was in Austin, Texas for two days and I didn't see him. Oh, that's right.

Very sneaky. Very sneaky. You think he would have popped in over the rose house or something? No, no, no.

He was hanging out with Baxter or something. Oh, yeah. I saw he had peoples. Peoples in town.

He's like, hey, Baxter's in town. So, anyway, the lady, Adrian's friend, Lauren, she's a marine biology teacher thing. Okay. So she's pointed out things in the water.

I mean, and she used to work at SeaWorld and stuff. So she's pointing out stuff. It's like a little tour. That was pretty cool.

We saw a giant turtle, I mean, bigger than this table, swam up to the boat. Dolphins, baby dolphins. Like a sea turtle? Yeah.

Like a real one? Yeah. Did it have a straw in it? No.

Did he slap that turtle because of those fucking turtles? No, he didn't. He got about as close as Phil to the boat. Okay.

But he's watching it on the radar because he was a sonar guy in the submarine, so he's driving by radar. Okay. And he goes, oh, manatee's coming, there's something coming, all of a sudden this giant-ass turtle's side of the table pops up out of the water. Damn, you should have said that.

He took his head up and looked at us and then went back now. Oh, you should have got a video of it so that we could show people that there's no straw in this turtle, You can use a turtle and we can go back to our normal straws. I got many of those dolphins. I just want my normal straws.

You want normal straws? I fucking hate them. You know, like the rubber... The paper straws are terrible.

The paper straws are terrible. I refuse to use them. They melt almost. They're just a waste of fucking time.

Right. Who the fuck okayed this? I don't... The plastic straw.

Like... " One guy shits their pants. We all wear diapers. It's fucking ridiculous.

I'm tired of it. One turtle with it in his nose. One fucking turtle. And then all of a sudden, nobody gets another straw.

And, you know, I was at Cowfish, you know, at Universal. Right? That's not even close to the water! I know!

I know! There's no plastic straws at Cowfish? Well, it's named after fish. I'm like, keep your fucking straw.

Okay? I'll just sip the side and hope it's clean. Hope you cleaned this one. Hope it's alright.

And then I don't get some fucking random disease streptococcus. Look, it's not very smoky in here, our little filter thing. No, it's working well. I think it's less smoky in here than it is in our office.

It is. It is, yes, that's right. Remarkable. And then I used the little fan with the clock on it, blows it through too.

Very fancy. We're very high-end now. Oh, it's nice down here. See why we can't afford any of this shit.

But hey, we're living the dream, baby. Living the dream. You know what, we're just gonna over-leverage ourselves, just like everybody else in America. Just like everybody else.

Fuck it. That's it. I can't wait till we're not paying rent, we're just gonna keep that going. " I'm like, no.

He's so angry. That we don't. I cleaned your office after I left. Remember?

Renegotiate terms. The landlord. Right. The landlord.

We can do the news. We have a lot of news. We have two Florida stories. Oh, yeah?

There was not much going on in Florida this week, so. Had to do some digging. But there's a lawsuit in the cigar industry going on. Oh, yeah?

You like a good lawsuit. I do like, I do love a good lawsuit. I really love these walls. These walls are fantastic.

Aren't they nice? Yeah. We need more up lights. Well, that one needs to be moved over a little bit more, but we could, we could add another.

Yeah. Maybe one or two. They work better up than down. We checked.

It doesn't look good going down. Okay. Yeah. That's cool.

Let's, let's, maybe we get a couple more. And we have smaller of those. Smaller of those? Yeah.

We have to try those and see if the lights. Smaller of those lights? Well, but these are so long, the smaller ones might work because they're a little, that one's This one's a little obtrusive for the bathroom. Yeah.

So. But we're moving along. Yeah, yeah. We almost look like a real show.

Almost. We have our own Wi-Fi now. That happened today. We have our own Wi-Fi.

And it's in the ceiling. Which makes sense. Right. Who fucking knew?

You can't see it. Huh. Wow. Wow.

This is the nicest unit in the entire building. It is. It really is. And the private lounge is fantastic.

It's still a little bit better. It's a piece together pretty nice. You mean our conference room? Yeah.

Not private lounge, it's our conference room. Oh, you know what the other thing, too? What's what? Fred Rui.

Yes. Wants to do a podcast? No. Oh, that'd be nice.

And his wife, Tracy. Yes. They all came out to the Roma Craft event to support us. Yes, very nice.

And he's an avid listener of the podcast. He is. He made a comment about your flight. Yeah, he rubbed it up again.

This is the third time he's rubbed the flight. I love that. I really must have hit something there. Yeah, he really struck a nerve.

That's the word, struck a nerve. It's funny because, like, we just talk, we're just so open and honest, and it's not like we would never say any of this stuff to people, you know, but it's funny sometimes when you say something, you totally forget about it, and they come and see you and like, and by the way, episode 186, fuck you too, and like, okay, oh, uh, what did I say? Uh, I don't know what I said, but all right, all right, I'm sure it was bad. So that's always pretty funny.

We're not sorry for saying it. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. And he does fly first class. It's in his contract.

He said that, hey, he's a He upgrades. Oh, he told me he was in the contract. And I said, hey, listen, I just want you to know, they pay for coach, and then I pay for first class on my own dime. Oh, he told me he was included.

He's already sending out mixed signals. I don't know, Fred. Where are we at on this? And then he brought Gretchen and Paul, Gretchen I did real estate with.

It was really cool, man. It just felt, I don't know, the Rome event felt so homey. Yeah, I was going to say relaxed. The regulars came out and like, you know, it was cool.

It was super chill. So, all right, go ahead. Let's go. I think Phil needs an ashtray over there.

Well, Phil does have to clean up his mask. That means I have to clean up the mask. I'm head producer, ad revenue, and custodian. And bookkeeper.

Don't forget that. And bookkeeper. Because I need that as well. Yes, yes.

All right. We're doing news, news, news. From the four corners of the world, all the cigar industry news you could possibly need. The Cigar Hustler Podcast Report, with Mike Toon.

C. Newman sues Cuban stock over the American trademark infringement. Oh, shit! C.

S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, alleging trademark infringement. C. Newman's trademark for The American.

Oh, that's interesting. C. Newman owns two trademarks, the American first of which was filed in June of 2016 and claims the company has been using the mark since at least August 1st, 2016. Oh, just right after.

C. Newman trademarks are live and the company has been selling the American since 2019. Oh, did they hit a cease and desist first? Let me hear.

All right, hold on. I want to know. C. Newman did not create the original American brand.

The original American brand shares a connection to the brand as it was made in E. Resenberg & Sons factory in Tampa, Ybor City. R-E-G-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E-R-E-G-E So, there's, I imagine there's brand confusion. Right, June, uh, June versus August.

June 2016 is when they copyrighted it. August of 2016 is when the Cuban company came out with theirs. Ah. Right after.

Yeah. Violet and Trey Rice selling the Cuban stock, wait, what? Hold on. Let's see what they sold.

The Cuban stock is Violet and Trey Rice selling the Cuban stock Delicoso Cabinet Selection The American. Oh, come on, as long as there's all that other shit in front of it, which appears to be infused with bourbon. Oh, nice. Which would make it American.

Right. C. Newman has sued Levy Cafe, which is the parent of SJ Cigars, a Philadelphia-based retailer owned by the Levy's. The Levy's also owned Tabula Calera International, which is the parent of Cuban stock.

Cuban stock produces cigars at its factory in the Dominican Republic. C. Newman and Cuban stock declined to comment. Okay.

All right. This is good. This is it. It's okay.

So you have no information. So. Okay. It just happened Friday.

Right. So listen, here's my thoughts on things. Yes. If they did their thing in June or July or June, and then the other guys had released their cigar in August.

Right. That means that like trains have left the station and things were in motion for both. Correct. Pretty much at the same time.

I would imagine. Really, It's gonna be close. Yeah. Right?

C. Newman is- Well, hold on, back up just a second here. C. Newman did not put out their American till 2019.

Okay. So I would imagine the Cuban people had theirs already made everything. So theirs were already in market. Yeah, well, it was already rolling and stuff.

Right. You know, and then it came out two months after they- Right. So maybe somebody checked when they originally started doing the artwork and stuff and like, Right. Nobody's using this here, you know.

So they probably, so. It's April. There's something. Run the bands in the packaging and we, it's April, we're fine.

I'm running, I'm drawing a blank, but there's something, there's, when you go to trademark before something's in market, you can, you know, it's like intent to bring to market. Right, right, right. So, you know, that's probably what they did. Right, even after you trademark, you have so long to use it, or you have to give it up.

Right, right. C. Newman has this idea, they're going to make the cigar. Right.

Right. Cuban stock says, all right, well, we're, We're making the cigar. They're like, right. Separate things.

Hey, you know what? We can put the American on this bourbon cigar. Right. One starts going at a different...

They both are going around the same time. C. Newman has the rights to that name. Correct.

Okay. C. Newman has the right to protect that name. That makes sense to me.

Yes. Right? Now, but there are, like, things that play out here. I don't think...

I don't know. I want to know if there was phone calls, conversations. Like, hey, man. Oh, Megan Porter, a phone call?

Because that's usually how it starts. You want to talk about Bobby Newman, or do you want to be the Cuban stock people? I'll be Bobby Newman. Okay, you call me.

All right. Ring, ring, ring, ring, ring. Hello. Hola.

Hey, this is Bobby Newman. Si, bueno. Como esta mi amigo? Hey, yeah, you're going to have to change the name of your cigar.

What? Que? Which one? No, but like, honestly, that's how it should play out.

Which cigar? Hey, listen, you know, we got this thing in motion. I'm starting this cigar called The American. We have the rights to the American.

Oh no, long name. American, very small. Now the Chinese. I'm sorry.

Now the Chinese again. So like I would tell, I would, you know, like that conversation should happen. Hey, listen, American, this is coming out. You know, there's a, we're going to have a conflict of interest.

We have the rights to it. Do me a favor. Just burn through whatever you have. Right?

Now the lighter's been thrown over there. So you're fucked. That's okay. I don't have time to smoke anyway.

Burn through whatever you have. Right. And change the name. And change the name.

Right. Take the American out of the name. They could easily have called it the, where's his name? The Cuban Stock Delicoso Cabinet Selection and left the American off.

Right. Or. Call it the Bourbon. What was the name of that fucking.

Oh, can they call it the Jack Daniels? What was the name of that South Park guys? They made America. Fuck yeah.

What was the name of the movie? Team. Oh, the little puppet guys. Yeah.

I don't remember. Team America. Was it Team America? Thank you, Phil.

Phil says Team America for those of you who can't help. Are you sure it was Team America? Yeah, I believe it was. He's fact-checking.

Well, that doesn't work either. He's fact-checking. Oh man, my phone's not happy. My phone's telling me that it's time for a new phone.

Which sucks. Uh-uh. My wife got a new phone over the weekend. Did she?

Team America, he's got it right there. Alright, so that wouldn't work either. Damn it. They can call it Team America.

They just can't call it The American. Right. They could have called it the America. Team America?

No, just the America. The entire name, the Cuban stock, Delicoso, cabinet selection, the America. Or the AFY. America, fuck yeah.

Yeah, the AFY. America, fuck yeah. Right. I don't know.

I don't know. We'll continue to follow this story as details become more available. You know, we'll call some people and we'll get the juice. I'll call Bobby and find out.

Yeah, say, Bobby, so how'd this play out? Yeah. You know, we had lunch together that time I took the tour. So, obviously, there was a cease and desist sent and that was disregarded.

Right. Well, maybe it was in English and they couldn't read it. Like, "Oh, what is this? What is this?

Oh, here. Oh, I thought it was a way to do it. " Have them come see me. Right.

The Asylum 13 and 1118s. Yes. Isn't that a weird name? 13 and 1118s?

13 and 1118s. Okay. Heads to TA retailers this week. So we're not getting that.

Ah, this is part of the seance. Another limited edition exclusive cigar that's on its way to retail members of the Tobacco Association of America. It's the Asylum 13 and 1118s. Yes.

What a weird name. Should've jumped to three while I was talking. A unique Perfecto that measures a 6x48, a 6x54, wait. Are you playing with your phone over there?

6x48, 5448. And it's a size that has long been associated with the... Sounds like a Figurato thing. The first time the Asylum 13 has been offered in this size.

A blend that is Nicaraguan Puro highlighted by a Havana wrapper is produced at the CLE factory in Donnelly, Honduras. Production is limited to just 500 boxes of 25 cigars with pricing set at $9 per cigar, $225 per box. The Asylum brand has been used. Use the 11, what is it, 1118 Vitola?

What is that? 11 slash 18. I don't know. I don't know.

I probably should know because I'm in the cigar industry. Before the other cigars in the portfolio, which the Asylum 13 has previously been offered in a Super 11/18. Oh. It's a Super 11.

Super. Hey, Perfecto. Oh, it's Perfecto that measures eight inches long, or the double tapered body that has 60 ring gauge. I had assumed it was a Figurato.

So I was close. Altenus USA adds a barber pole option to the Romeo and Julieta Reserva real line. Oh. A barber pole.

Barber pole. Very popular right now. Let's see. Let me hear this barber pole.

Let me see if they fucked it up. Altanist USA, popular Romeo and Juliet Reserve, Real Line will get two new barber pole cigars this summer, according to a recent report from Cigar Aficionado. The company have added the Twisted Toro and the Twisted Love Story. Both cigars are contrasting Ecuadorian Connecticut and Ecuadorian Habano wrappers to create an appearance of a barber pole.

Goddamn, just put me on the marketing team. Fucking Twisted Toro and Twisted Love, what was that? Twisted Love Story. The Twisted Love Story.

A four and a quarter by forty-six. Like that was the best you guys could have done? I like Twisted Love Story. We're gonna call it Twisted Love Story.

Romeo and Juliet Love Story. Twisted? Well, it's a barbable thing. What do you want to say?

Haircut? It's a barber pole. Twisted Love Story. Yeah.

That's fucking weak. And that's even weaker. Romeo and Juliet is a Twisted Love Story. And then they're like, hey.

It's a very tragic story where they both die at the end. And Twisted Toro? Because Toro was the uncle. Because Toro was the uncle?

The uncle who stabbed him. Oh, was he a Montague? Yeah, no, he was a Capulet. He was a Capulet?

Toro Capulet. Toro Capulet. Toro Capulet. And he was very twisted.

He was a very twisted, very crazy man. And he stabbed him. Very unruly. And he stabbed him.

Yes. Who would he stab? The Twisted Love Story. Romeo and Juliet?

Yes. He wrote the story. He wrote the story. Yes, he was very twisted.

The Twisted Uncle Toro wrote the Twisted Love Story. Gotcha. Yes. Now it all makes sense.

I figured that out for you. Underneath the Nicaraguan binder over filler tobaccos from Dominican Republic and email sent to Altidus seeking confirmation that these plans was not returned. So maybe they're doing it. Maybe they're not.

Fuck you. What's the rapper? It was Ecuadorian Connecticut and an Ecuadorian Habano. Okay.

Interesting. Connecticut and Habano. Okay. Yes.

how did it go no before that one and that's i can only i can imagine all the sounds going on all to this right now yes they're working very hard i'm over here now look at this crown heads blood medicine returns for an event we should do a crown heads event when was the last time we did a crown heads event who knows less hasn't been here in years his name is wes isn't Did I say Wes with crown heads? You said less. No, I said Wes. Did I say Wes?

Did I say Wes? He said Wes. Thank you, Phil. Phil says I said Wes.

Oh man, these hallucinogens are really kicking in then. It's because you didn't eat. Yeah, I could use some food. There's some peanuts right there.

I had some nuts. Do you like some more nuts? I have some right here. Oh, I have some right here.

Oh, you do? No, you don't. Yeah, I don't. Those are in your wife's purse, let's be honest.

Oh, look who's talking. I was talking. Yeah, I didn't say that I had nuts here. You don't have any nuts.

Surprised your wife is going to show up and go, give me those. She's not aggressive. Oh yeah, but you're not allowed to leave with nuts. I don't have nuts.

They're right there, you just said. Yeah, I do. It's the same nuts. Next week in an event, Squire Cigars in Santa Rosa, California, Crownheads will once again offer a cigar called Blood Medicine at its events.

The new Blood Medicine is a 5x50 Robusto that is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobaccos and produced in Pichardo. Produced at Tadlicolera Pichardo. This is the second time it's used the name for an event-only cigar. What's it called?

The Bloodline? The Blood Medicine. The Blood Medicine. Though the two cigars are not the same, so they've used the name twice, but they're not the same cigar.

It's a different one. Somebody's getting confused. It's an entirely different type of flying altogether. It's an entirely different type of flying.

The original Blood Medicine was released in 2015. It was not only a different size, but also a different blend. Completely different cigar. It's a completely different cigar.

It's a completely different cigar. It's a completely different cigar. It's a completely different cigar. This is new blood medicine.

This is for the O negatives. That one guy is going to get confused. Yeah, yeah. That's why he made the 54s.

It's Mejor. Mejor 54. That's the Aurora factory. Well, maybe he had to transfer.

Is this guy working on the Bichardo? This is a totally different cigar. Yes, senor. He's muy Mejor.

I make it for you. It's very good. Muy Mejor. The cigar is a 5 1/2 by 48 Corona.

And sued? What? And Sude, and Ecuadorian Habana, what is this? S-U-E-D?

Sude, right? Sude? Sude. An Ecuadorian Habana wrapper of Nicaraguan Tobacco is also made at my father's cigars, as Say Crownhead said, it made 6,000 cigars which used for events until they run out.

The blood, they made them at my father too? Yes. That's why it's a different cigar. So, wait a second.

Wait a second. So, they have two lines coming out? They have two blood medicines. There's two.

There's two. Negative and positive. One they made in 2015. Right.

The name was made of my father. Ah, okay, but then no more. No, no more. No mas.

No, no. Okay. Pichardo. Solo Pichardo.

So, you know, they had to use different tobaccos. Uh-huh. Same name. That way they don't get sued.

They don't want to get sued. By using somebody else's name. It's their shit. Right.

So, hey, we have this name. We'll just keep using it. Next year, a third one. More blood medicine.

More blood medicine. We like the name. AB positive. We like the name blood medicine.

Use it for everything. Fortunately, in 2022, version of Blood Medicine is not limited. Oh, good, good deal. It will be offered at a selected event following the soft launch at Squire Cigars and packaging packs of four.

Oh, no five packs, just four packs. They're cutting back. Right. Total inflation.

COVID. Oh, that's right. Same price. You don't get as many cigars.

It's $45. Right. But in 2015, $45, you got you five. You got five, now you got 45 for four.

Made it my father. And they only made 6,000 of them. Pichardo. Now they make as many as they want at Pachato.

Yeah, capped at three per pack, $75. Once again, they'll be used as a gift with purchase items. Oh, and then no even cost, it's a gift. You buy this box?

Oh wait, how are they going to explain the name? As for the name, Crown Heads explained, his inspiration is much greater detail than time around. Blood Medicine takes its name from a three story building located on the corner of Broadway and 4th Avenue, downtown Nashville, Tennessee, where Wes Les lives. Wes Les?

I just said both names. The building was originally built as a three-floor pharmacy in 1872, but it was converted into a hotel in 1892. After 20 years of blood, we have now said you can stay here. So wait, I'm making a cigar that's a name they've already used.

In a building that's been used for something else before. Yes. All right, just trying to get everything clear. The hotel operated until 19—oh, wait!

It's still better than Twisted Toro. The hotel operated until 1980, and in 1980 the building would be purchased and reopened as a merchant's restaurant. So wait, it's been a pharmacy, a hotel, now it's a restaurant. Okay.

Nashville's music scene would attract some legendary musicians to stay at the merchant's hotel over the years, including Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, and Wes from Crown Heads, it says, right? And Wes. Yeah, there are rumors that the building also served as a brothel and casino over the years. Oh, that's why Hank is hanging out there.

Oh, you can buy Viagra, and then you can have a meal, and then you can go stay in a hotel when you're tired, and then you can fuck a whore. There you go. Wow! Get some drugs.

We should go there for a trip. Perfect. Lot going on in that hotel. We're here for the hotel.

And we'll just leave our nuts with our wives. Yeah, we're good. We're good. We're nuts aren't here.

We're all right. Blood... What? The tale exists about the historic building, including legends of the Civil War ghosts.

It's still one of the halls. Evidence that the original pharmacies still exist. Ugh. They don't even clean the place.

There's still pills everywhere. Still pills. On the painted words, blood medicine remains still visible. Blood medicine pays homage to the history of the Crownheads, home of Nashville, with the unique smoking experience, the event Esquire Cigars takes place June 3rd.

See, at least there is some thought with that name. I don't know, somebody loved to paint it on the building. Blood medicine. And they've used it before.

It's okay. It's still better than Twisted Toro. Why don't we just call everything, I'm going to paint something on the wall, we'll just use that name on everything. That's perfect.

Okay. Like this used to be a church. Oh. Oh, yeah.

Well, what was the name of the church? I don't know. God bless you. I don't know.

That's what the lady always said. God bless you. The lady always said that. Hello.

Oh, God bless you. Hello. She's a very nice lady. Did you say, "God bless you"?

" She said, "May the Lord be with you," is what it was. " She did that, too. Yeah. That, like, before and after, every sentence.

Praise Him. How you doing? Praise Him. I thought it was, "Praise the Lord," she said.

Maybe. Him. I mean, who knows who that could have been? Could have been anybody.

Could have been. Could have been Greg. Praise him. Praise you, Greg.

That's not happening. Not today, Isis. All right. Fernando León Legacy Lancero getting a PCA 2022 release.

Ooh, is me whore. Are they near us? Fernando León? Fernando León Legacy.

I don't know. Oh. I think we're booth number 660. Lenny told me that.

666? 660. Oh, ooh, that was close. Yeah, Lenny told me that.

At February's Pro Cigar Festival. Oh, where they have the white pregnant. Lenny Smeagol. No black people are there.

Right. La Aurora auctioned off a special charity humidor that included a not-yet-released Cigar Gold. I think I know why our listeners are being exceeded in the shit show, because you're not as racist on the shit show. Oh, it's worse.

Is it? Oh, it's worse. This July, the cigar will be shown off at the 2021 PCA Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas. Officially, cigars of La Aurora, Fernando, Leon, Legacy, Lantero.

What a long ass name for all these cigars. A 6 and 7 H by 40 Lancero that uses a Corojo seed wrapper grown in the Dominican Republic over a binder. Well, they were going to go with the American, but you know, there's this conflict of interest. We had a problem with the names.

It's already taken twice. Twice. $20 a cigar. Ooh, PCA is going to be expensive.

Inflation. I'm going to make a cigar called Inflation and charge fucking $97. Oh, I just call it Inflation. And the price always changes.

Today, it's up 3%. Up 3%, sorry. That's the way it is. And they just email the retailers and let them know what they need to sell it for that day.

They expect cigars to be on the shelves in November. Excellent. Which means January next year. Right.

Yeah. By then it'll be $30. So you know, that's how that works. If you're calling November from fucking May, September, September, you said September, you said November, I said September, you said November, no, I said January, it's going to be September.

I don't know what's going on here. I don't know if you said September, I need some more blood medicine. I'm still saying January. If you're calling May, September and May, did he say November?

He said September. Phil, he said November. Phil's not even paying attention. He said September.

He said September. Something wrong with your ears today, Michael? Man, I don't know. I'm worried now.

I might be having a stroke. Do you smell toast? At this point, I had thought that you have said several different words. Yes, probably.

Maybe it's that fan over there. Is that with the fan, with the colors of neon on it? Yeah, it's messing with me. I obviously need to eat something.

La Flor Dominican Sole coming to PCA 2022. Lito Gomez is returning. At this year, 2022, PCA committed trade. Are we near Lito?

I don't know. We'll see John Carney. We like John Carney. We like John Carney.

And Leo, my friend Leo. You guys are tight. It's called the La Flor Dominican Sole is a Spanish And Gomez described it as the opposite. Oh.

It's not Sunshine. Oh. Of Lennox when he announced a cigar during recent episodes of Smokin' Tobacco Podcast. Oh.

That's with the couple. Oh yeah, Matthew. And what's the young lady's name? I don't know.

Did they get married, didn't they? I think they did get married. Finally. I guess we didn't get invited.

No, no, no, no worries. I'm not surprised. Nobody wants to be affiliated with us, Michael. No.

Oh, Greg found out an update. Because Greg, I was kidding me, he found out Friday night he's going to have five guys, because she has five bridesmaids. Oh. So, he has to have five people.

Well, that's, I mean, there's three of us right here. I'm the minister, I can't stand up. Oh, you're right, you're the minister. I'm the minister.

Chet's the DJ, that cuts out two. Man, he's really reaching. Yeah, no, it's good, Keanu, Marcus, you, and Boots. Tater, don't forget Tater.

Oh, Tater. Yeah, Tater. He's going to have five. Well, since we're not closed that day.

That day. I mean, I haven't been asked to be the best man. That's true. So I might not be in this way.

You might not be in it at all. Maybe you're not invited. What a relief. Maybe you're not even invited.

I would be so sick if I wasn't invited. Your mother probably said, don't ask him. You know, well, she has other people that she'd like to go. Oh.

But she has her own guest list? You know, I have some people. Oh, that'd be so. If you could just cut your brother out.

Cut your brother out. Then make room for Cousin Phil and Uncle Fred. That'd be great. Punch crowdsource fans for the people's chant, Michael.

Next week, General Cigar will launch a new Punch brand that says we're created over the course of three years after receiving feedback from thousands of fans. Thousands. Thousands. They're dying to have this cigar.

There's a thousand of them? Yeah, it seems a little, it seems stretched a little, doesn't they think it stretched that a little bit there? The Punch, the people's champ, is a 5x50 Rebuso that uses a bando wrapper from the Talanga, I started to say Taladega. Did you ever see anybody come to the shop and say, "You know what, I'm a big Punch fan, And I fucking rallied for this champ, people's champ.

No, that's what I'm saying. There are thousands of people, though. Not even one. Uh, let's see.

What is it? It's uh, it's a Honduran over a Mexican San Andres binder and fillers from Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. So they have all the tobaccos, right? Oh.

All of them. It's not Peruvian, though. No. And no Costa Rican.

No Costa Rican? No. Donnelly is making the cigar, a General Cigar S, the Punch Brotherhood, its online fan club for a Punch brand. Oh, there's a Punch Brotherhood, apparently.

Mmm. Wow. A lot of black and blue faces in that. Right.

Face paint. Like a punch. Yeah, I get it. I get it.

I didn't think it was funny. Wow. So aggressive. The end result scored in the company is a medium-body Robusto.

It's MSRP of $649. Oh, way too cheap. They're never going to sell. Limited through the General Cigar Company.

It's not disclosed. Production numbers, because they're making 1,000 of them. 1,000 people want it? 1,000 people want it.

1,000 people want it. The People's Chair will be offered in both a 5 and a 10 count bundle. In addition, the company says it will only be sold at brick and mortar retailers. Oh.

I don't know what John Hackam sounds like, but he's... John Hackam? Yeah. You want to do his voice?

No, no, let's, uh, let's, uh, let's piece this together. Hackam? I feel like it's a high, high tone voice. High tone?

Yeah. Jonathan Drew? It's kind of. Oh, without the New York accent?

No New York accent. All right. Wait, wait. He's, like, Southern.

Southern, but High Pits. So like, Texas, but not Southern Draw. Not Southern Draw, but higher. Higher Southern Draw.

Yeah, exactly. Well, yes, they throw the crap. No, see, I'm doing Jonathan Draw. You're already back in New York.

All right, all right, we're moving on. Warped Eagle's Descent returns for national release. I need to prep my stuff. Okay.

I don't -- hold on, the paper's stuck together. Warped Eagle Descent returns for national release. Warped Cigars is bringing back Eagle's Descent, a limited edition, created a lot of repeat. There's no cigar names and stuff going on here.

Well, what the hell? If it works, why not? I guess. Maybe I've done a War Bear three times.

They don't want to get sued because they own the name already. But why continue to reinvent the wheel sometimes? Warped Cigars bring back Eagles Ascent limited edition created for our field wine company in Hawaii. Oh, yeah, that's...

Hawaii. Yeah, food wine. It's an island. I know the guy, Marvin.

New Zealand. No, it's named called Hawaii. Yeah, I know the place. The island.

Oh, you been there? No, Food Mart? Something like that. Food Mart?

Something like that. No, I don't know. Tiz Mart? Food Mart.

Isn't that the one that the Indian guy owns on The Simpsons? Hello. Hello. Come to the Food Mart.

Apu? Apu! The cigar which debuted at tooth... It's Apu.

Oh, Apu. I said Apu, right? Right, Phil? Oh, so Phil disagrees now.

Okay, cool. So you're gaslighting me. Perfect. No, no.

That was the first one we gaslighted you. Thank you so much. We're going to set something up next week, though. It's the Quickie Mart.

Quickie Mart. Oh, thank you, Phil. Yeah, it's Quickie Mart. Phil, the fact checker cameraman.

Okay. Oh, see, the blend remains the same. It's a Nicaraguan Puro. It's maintaining the same components.

However, in Instagram posts, the company said that it wanted to offer a different from the original. So the Viso and Secco, with the blend, were reworked to lean more towards the Halabagrown Tobaccos. All right. You were ashing all over the table.

I gave you two ashtrays there and it's all over the table. Oh, there is a second ashtray. I pointed that out earlier. I wasn't listening to you.

1,500 boxes, 25, what? Oh, these show the mess. Oh, thank you. 1,500 boxes, 25 cigars being produced.

Thanks, Phil. Kyle said he's not responding, he's not responding. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Warped for a while.

Okay, moving on. All right, my father's cigar is adding two limited editions to the Labajou 1922 line. Well, they have the extra production time now because they're not making the blood thing anymore. Yeah, yeah.

What are we going to do with this blood line time? Blood line time. Blood, it's not blood line. It was blood medicine.

Blood medicine. We're going to do the blood medicine line now. We'll just make it a Labajou thing. More Labajou.

Let's see. Oh, it's 100 birthdays. I think they broke out. I think they had, they're like, they no longer make cigars of my father's crown heads.

Well, yeah, they're making a Pachardo now. Yeah. All right. All right.

But like nothing. None, none, none. All right. That's why they're making the, they have all this crown head time.

Okay. All right, my father's cigars celebrating what would have been the 100th birthday of Jose Garcia. Oh, he's dead. But he's not there.

He's not dead, but would have been in 100. He's dead, Phil. He's dead. Power heads, moment of silence for Jose Garcia.

Jose. Jose. Alright, we'll miss him. Okay.

Alright, the father of Jose Pepin Garcia with a pair of limited editions for its La Bajou 1922 line, called My Father La Bajou 1922. That's what they called it. Yeah, that makes sense. Right, hold on.

Cigars are said to, let's see, 100 annuals limited edition. The cigars are said to use a slightly modified blend from the rest of the La Bajou line. There remains Nicaraguan Puro's and uses a very dark wrapper in the company first of the blah, blah, blah, blah. Okay, I knew it was a guy.

Yep. Get to the Florida story. All right, here we go. Man steals ring for one Florida girlfriend, proposes to his other girlfriend.

Wow. Oh, my God. In Volusia County. It's a hometown guy, right?

Oh, he's a local. A local. He's probably a regular here. You know what?

There was a picture. He did look familiar. Is it Carlos? No, no.

It's a large black man. Oh, I can name a couple of those. Large black men? Well, they're regulars.

Oh. Volusia County Sheriff's detectives have an arrest warrant out for the theft suspect who's stolen and Gage, oh, we have his name. Wedding bans from his girlfriend in Orange City. Really local.

Getting closer. Oh, man. He used him to propose to his other girlfriend in Orlando, Joseph Davis, 48, born in 1024, 1972. It went by Joe Brown with one girlfriend and Marcus Brown with the other.

He's wanted on a felony charge of grand theft. His current address and whereabouts are unknown. Earlier this year, Orange City woman came forward and told detectives that she discovered her boyfriend She was actually engaged in someone else. Wow.

When she looked up the fiancé's Facebook page, she noticed a photo of her wearing a wedding band engagement ring that was identical to her own. That she couldn't find. From a prior marriage. She went to check the jewelry box.

She discovered the rings were missing. Joe. The total value probably sold was about $6,270. Look at this hustle.

It's my ring. It's my ring. Joe gave it to me. Marcus gave it to me.

Marcus gave it to me. I don't even know who the fuck Joe is. I don't know who Joe is. I'm engaged to Marcus.

And we're in love. And we're in love. He gave me this lovely $6,000 ring. Yeah.

It's not yours anymore. It's not yours. It's mine. I love it very much.

All right. And finally, Michael, a Florida man charged with breach of peace after allegedly threatening to unleash his turtle army. On the public. Yes!

Do they have straws in their fucking faces? No, they use those as weapons. Oh, okay. Disrupting a police station and cursing at 7-Eleven customers.

I will release my army of turtles. Thomas Lane, 61, of Indian Atlantic, was charged with breach of peace and misusing 9-1-1, and resisting an officer without violence. According to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office and News 13, Lane was arrested after reports that he made multiple threats at various locations along the boardwalk of Indian Atlantic, Melbourne. He's in Melbourne, ah, near Melbourne Beach allegedly calling himself The Saint.

Love this guy. And threatening people by saying his turtle army will destroy them all. That is amazing. Have we seen this turtle army unleashed at all anywhere?

No. Damn it. Well, can't even break, they're very slow. So, he said last week he's gonna unleash the army.

They're coming. That'll be here eventually. That'll be here eventually. Maybe the one I saw was like the scout or something.

Maybe he was lost from the group. Excuse me, there's an army. Excuse me. Excuse me, I'm the army.

Get out of the way. Is the army here? Is the army here? Hello, the army here?

The saint has sent me. The saint has sent me. The saint has sent me. I'm looking for the turtle army there.

Oh, he's Irish. Turtles are Irish. Completely Irish. They're a little red in the face.

There you go. A little red in the face. A little red in the face. And what I saw, he had red in the face.

And then he left quickly and didn't say goodbye. No, no. The old Irish exit. That's right.

That's right. I'm out, I'm out of here. Alright, I have a Listener of the Week, Michael, do you have a Shab of the Week? Do you?

No, I don't. Oh, I have a Listener of the Week. Good for you. Would you like me to do the Listener of the Week?

I do. Listener of the Week today is Mr. Mark Gordon. It is also his birthday today.

Oh, yes. It means just as much, even though he had to ask me and tell me it was his birthday. Oh, he wanted us to hang out yesterday, and, you know, I didn't come in, so. Oh, I didn't either.

No. I came in and bought cigars. Happy birthday, Mark. Happy birthday, Mr.

Gordon. Avid listener, Patreon member. You're kind of a big deal here. Yes, yes.

So we appreciate you. Shop of the week, Michael? Shop of the week? You have one job every week, Michael.

Lake Country cigars. I like country. What? I like country.

Because they saw my post about the Shepherd yesterday and they were excited and they placed an order. Without anything else. Lake Country cigars! Cigars!

There you go. Where the Cigar Noise Boys used to work. Didn't he? Didn't he work there?

He used to work there. That's what I said. I got a better team now. Oh, obviously.

Yeah. Romatron's there. Is it Romatron's the guy who called? Yes.

Anything else, Michael? That's it. Do you want to say anything else about the Shepard Ezekiel? That's all I want to say right now.

More to come. All right. This has been episode two. Over here.

Three. Three. There you go, Phil. It's been episode 230 of the Cigar Hustler Podcast.

The Hojo Deeb. Hojo! It's the Hojo! You didn't even let him fuck it up all the way.

I could get past Hojo! Go on. I don't even have to try to hit the record. He's not even good.
