Cigar Hustlers Podcast Episode 303 - ”World Traveler Maduro Moves & Adventures in Florida”

Cigar Hustlers Podcast Episode 303 - ”World Traveler Maduro Moves & Adventures in Florida”

Episode Summary

Mike Szczepankiewicz and Mike Palmer open Episode 303 with their usual sponsor-free disclaimer and a run of Florida family talk — a trip to Islands of Adventure, a Buccaneers-versus-Lions game at Raymond James (including Mike's son Jack making a TV cameo and the return of the creamsicle uniforms), and youth flag football coaching duties. The show also takes a prank call from "Justin Credible, Esquire," a fake attorney representing J.C. Newman, and a two-minute check-in with Ronnie Haisha of Secreto Cigars about Detroit Lions fans who don't know when to be quiet at a stadium.

The cigar news block is the meat of the episode. Bocock Brothers Premium Cigars has moved production of its World Traveler Maduro to AJ Fernandez's Tabacalera AJ Fernandez, with the reblended line using a Mexican San Andrés wrapper and arriving in Robusto, Toro and Gordo at $11.50–$12 per cigar in 20-count boxes — a significant departure from the 2019 blend made at San Judas Tadeo in Honduras. Casa Fernandez/Aganorsa Leaf is shipping the JFR Lunatic Maduro "The Size That Shall Not Be Named," a 10 x 100 Belicoso at $39.99 in its own coffin, limited to 2,500 cigars per year — which the hosts note is still not the biggest ever, since RoomCraft Tobac's Cro-Magnon Femur measured 10 x 133⅓. Also covered: Kuroneko/Kuhrn — Kenner... correction: Carrillo-adjacent distribution news as Karen Berger Cigars lands Polish distribution through Iguana Gorski and the Cigaro lounge in Warsaw; HVC's 10th Black Friday release, a 4½ x 56 box-pressed Petit Gordo at $9.80 limited to 600 boxes; and Viaje bringing back Full Moon while adding a smaller Mini Moon for Halloween.

The hosts wrap with their trademark Florida stories — a rabid otter that attacked a 74-year-old man feeding ducks in Jupiter, and 67 pounds of cocaine worth roughly $970,000 washing ashore in Ormond-by-the-Sea in Volusia County. Shop news includes an upcoming Espinosa Smashing Pumpkins event on October 20 with Erik Espinosa and Jack Toraño (with La Zona/Espinosa smokes, Guy Fieri tequila giveaways and pork butt), a Howard G event the following week, Listener of the Week John Richards, and Shop of the Week Man Cave in Fort Lauderdale. Palmer also fields ribbing about whether Powstanie would ever make a 100-ring-gauge cigar.

Transcript

Welcome to the Cigar Hustlers Podcast Episode 303, where we bring you the latest news and insights to the world of premium cigars. In this episode, we dive into the big stories of the week. The King, Mike Stevonkevich, and Reverend BDP, Mike Palmer are two dynamic individuals who co-host the Captivating Cigar Hustlers Podcast. And me, I love you.

I'm Phil. Working on his skills, I took words out. So grab your favorite smoke, sit back, and join us for another exciting episode of Cigar Housers Podcast. One, please.

One. Maybe you'd like to put your products in front of the hundreds, if not thousands of cigar smokers each week. Maybe you'd like to partner up and become part of the number one cigar podcast and go down in history as a supporter of our iconic show. Or maybe like to be like Justin Andrews and not answer our calls when we try to promote your new cigar for free.

But the fact is, we don't want sponsors. We don't want to talk to Justin Andrews. We don't like people telling us what we can and can't say. I want to talk to you.

So, as of October, the Cigar Awesome Podcast has remained sponsor-free. Thank you for your time and kiss our ass. And Justin Andrews. No, just kiss his ass.

Just kiss my ass. I like to think Mickey Pegg, he tried to FaceTime me Saturday night, I think it was. Did he? He had Justin Andrews with him, but I was in the shower, so I didn't answer.

You have to answer. What were you thinking? You answer! You always answer!

I did not want to talk to a group full of, a room full of people at an event. A little soap going on. You know what I mean? You gotta commit.

I don't like the body you have, Michael. You gotta commit. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter.

There's a, who's the comedian? Burt Kerger? Wait, who'd you think was gonna judge you? Justin Andrews or Mickey Peck?

Yeah, I don't know who else was there. " Oh my god, he's naked. That guy doesn't take care of himself? I mean, yeah.

Come on. I'd have to flex the entire time and just keep it tight. I'm just washing! Yeah, just keep it tight, buddy.

You would've been fine. You know? Well, thank you, Mickey, for trying. He tried twice, man, but he's very determined.

Listen, if somebody calls me for a FaceTime and I'm pooping, I gotta answer the phone. I didn't think me and Mickey were on the naked level yet. Oh, that's how you get there, though, is you open that up. Oh, you just do it right away.

Yeah. Then he's gonna start calling me when he's naked. naked it's okay just be a uh one of those guys the pew boys what are you doing over there what is the pew boys what's the catholic what's the catholic people what are you playing with you're driving me nuts what are you playing with oh my god he's crinkling the cell sitting there playing with the cellophane why don't you put it right by the microphone that'd be back yeah you know maybe you could do that beforehand i don't know come with christ that might be a good sound bite you should take that as a sound no i don't think that would be a good sound not even remotely good The Crinkle Wrinkle? Yeah, not even good.

Not even close. What'd you do, Michael? What? What didn't I do?

I don't know. I don't know what you did. We did a little universal action on Saturday. Yeah?

Oh, you hit all the houses, though. No. Oh, we took the children. Yeah, we took the kids, yeah.

Did some kiddo stuff. Was it still decorated? We're at Islands of Adventure, so there's no Halloween stuff there now. Oh, nothing?

Oh, they just do it in the one park? Yeah. Just in the one park. Oh, I thought they usually did it in Islands of Adventure.

We had to buy Teddy annual pass. Oh, she's older. Oh, she's older. She's older now.

We had to, it was a year of smuggling, but we, you know, we got away at this point. She's looking pretty big in the stroller, you know? Yeah. That's where you're supposed to carry him.

Had to bite the bullet. Right. Eh, no, I mean, you know, at the end of the day, she's riding rides now, so I'm like... Do people ask questions?

No, I just, for me, it's... How old is she? Why are you asking? Two.

Who cares? Still two. She can't speak. The standard age.

I can talk fine, Daddy. She's two. Oh! She's speaking.

With her own cell phone? Uh-uh, I'm three. Hold on, Daddy, I have a phone call. No, I'm three.

Hello? Yes, Nina? I'm at Halloween Hornet. Bubbles, come here.

Bubbles. Bubbles. Golf or Bubbles. So, we did that.

That was cool. Little carousel rides and all that other crap. Oh. We think Jack's lost his Bucks hat at valet, which is a bummer.

At valet? Yeah. I think he just dropped it or something. I don't know.

I don't know what happened to it. The one he wore to the game? No, he got that complimentary there. Oh, that's that for a giveaway.

Yeah. We went to, we did go to the Bucks Detroit game. Right. And Jack's made a cameo on.

I heard, I saw it. Yeah. Yeah. After all these years, after all these years, he finally made it on.

Oh, now he's famous. Yeah. Yeah. He's accepting autographs, you know?

So, that was pretty cool. It was. He was, I'll tell you what, he was lit up the rest of the day. Was he?

Yeah. Was he on the Jumbotron thing too? No. Oh.

It's just on, but, you know, my phone lit up, like, from everybody, hey. Oh, hey, we just saw. You got the game? Get your son's on.

Does Brittany record them just in case? No, but she saw it and she freaked out. She went nuts and then she recorded it. Well, now we have YouTube TV, so you don't have to.

Just go back. Oh, you can just back up. Yeah. Oh, nice.

Fantastic. But Ronnie was giving me shit about before the game. He was giving Jack shit about it as well. He mentioned that in his post today.

Did he? Yes. He called to give Jack shit and Jack's shit game is better than Ronnie's. To what Ronnie said.

Jack shit game? Yes. Jack shit? Yes.

Jack shit. Right. I mean, you can't be talking too much shit to the Dolphins right now. Why does it say speaker?

Is this connected? I'm connected. We have a phone call here shortly. Oh!

Are we going to call Ronnie? We're going to call Ronnie. We don't have time for that. We don't have time for that?

Oh, we have a call coming in three minutes. In three minutes? Yes. Justin Andrews?

No, no, not Justin Andrews. That'd be a miracle. It would be. Man, you hurt my heart.

You can call him later. On a podcast? Sure. We got an hour.

We're only six minutes in. You just said we didn't have time for that. No, he came later, not before the other phone call. So here's what I can tell you though.

So covered in Detroit fans, they're coming out of the woodwork and they're all just, they're all live here now. So, so here's what's really fucking funny though. You're going to laugh. And this is why I wanted to call Ronnie and break his balls.

Detroit fans, they don't have a clue how to operate in, at a, at the field, at the stadium because they never show up because their team has sucked for 75 years. Now they're good. And now they're all decent. I think that they're super bowl bound this year, bro.

Without Without question. The Lions? Yeah. Wow.

Yeah. Even I know enough about football though. What division? Are they AFC or NFC?

They're NFC, right? I think they're NFC. Yeah. The Dolphins could see them.

Super Bowl. Dolphins, Lions, Super Bowl. How crazy would that be? That's actually what the prediction was at the beginning of the year.

Really? Mm-hmm. Who predicted that? I think that was the...

Jimmy the Greek. The Kenny and all them on the... Who's Kenny? Kenny Smith, all those guys.

I know who they are. Jimmy the Greek, you know who that is. the Greek, you know who that is? I think he's dead.

Jimmy the Greek? No. He used to do all the football stuff like back in the 80s and 90s. Isn't Jimmy the Greek the guy that...

I'm sure he's dead now. I thought that was the guy that took a swing at Jack Taranio. That was different. That's Mike the Greek.

Mike the Greek. Oh, Mike the Greek. That's his son. That's his son.

Or it could be grandson. That's hilarious. So here's what they did. That made me laugh.

Offensively, they're on the field. Detroit Lions, and then the whole team's going, yeah, all the people in the crowd, yeah, let's go, let's go, let's go. I'm thinking, you're supposed to be quiet when the offense is on the field, but yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll cheer with you. I'll cheer with you.

Louder. Because you want to be loud so that the offense can't hear what's going on. Oh, yeah. And then, you know, the angles when you watch the game on the field can be deceptive.

So you wait on a field goal kick for the refs to go like this, to confirm. You can't tell. You can't tell from where you're sitting. So they go for the, they attempt a field goal and they miss it and they're all going, yeah, you made it, you made it!

And it was no good! No good. Like, dude, this is the first time you guys have showed up ever to a game. And they don't know how to do it.

Yeah. They don't know how to root. Yeah, you don't know how to root. And be better, Detroit.

Yeah, be better. Don't apologize, just be better. Just be better. You know?

Maybe by the Super Bowl they'll have it down. Maybe they'll get it figured out. Maybe. They probably won't have a clue.

Where's the Super Bowl at next year? This year, whatever it is. I don't even know. Is it?

Where is it? A.? A. recently.

I don't know. It's a good question. Hmm. Think you guys would know?

Big sports aficionados. Well, he should know because his team might. His team's got the potential to go. Yeah, but I would never be able to afford a ticket.

Them things are probably like 10 grand in a nosebleed. At least. He did the new uniforms this week. The creamsicles.

That's why I had to go to this game. This was the game he picked. Yeah, but those uniforms, I don't think they've ever won in them. Really?

Yeah. They never won the creamsicles? Did they win? No, they did terrible.

It was terrible. Wow. It was a rough game. It was a rough game.

The Coppertail Brewery, I should have texted you, over there is selling creamsicle beer cans. Oh, they were all over the stadium. Oh, here's our phone. Uh-oh.

I know who it is. Wow. Sorry, I messed that up. Yeah, you fucked that up.

Hello? Yo, good day, son. Who is this calling us today? C.

Newman Cigars, I am a Justin Credible Esquire, a trustworthy attorney at law. Now, boys, it's my understanding that you boys implied that my client, Mr. Newman, did drugs? Now, listen, I must insist...

We said allegedly. Sir, I have to insist, those allegations are preposterous. Indeed, my client. Mr.

A, you got to be a little closer to the microphone. When you're talking to Mr. Newman, you got to be a little closer to the microphone. When you're talking to Mr.

Newman, you got to be a little closer to the microphone. When you're talking to Mr. Newman. You gotta be a little closer to the phone.

In that mansion it is. Yeah, yeah. My client is very upset about Jack, so I'm gonna need you boys to discontinue this content that you'll spread. Oh, hold on, hold on, hold on.

Anyway. Oh yeah, we'll do a retraction. We're very sorry. Yeah, we'll re-dact that.

Anyway, who's the man? We apologize. We're in so much trouble. We got to get some munchies, man.

We got to get some munchies, man. All right. All right. We'll do it.

We'll re-dact it. We're going to let you go. Oh, apparently he hung up. He's gone.

He's gone. Oh, well, thank you so much. That was nice. The lawyer for Jason Newman.

What's his name? Just Incredible Esquire. Incredible. Oh, it was a toss up on who we got the call from this week.

I don't know if we're in trouble for that or more in trouble now. I let go of that if you want to. Can we be in trouble? Do you want to?

I don't think so. What are they going to do? Not when we had no sponsors. That's right.

Did you, are you grabbing it? I'm trying to. Yeah. Let's give Ronnie a quick buzz here.

You just calling to bust his balls? No, he's going to break my balls, but he's got like two minutes. If he answered. Yo.

You're on the podcast, you got two minutes. Two minutes. You called me, what do you want? I want to talk about your Detroit Lion fans at the stadium.

Oh, I had a lot of my customers were there. Yeah. Can we discuss the fact that they don't know how to handle themselves at a game? It's pretty funny.

They're cheering, they're screaming and cheering when their offense is on the field. I would answer that, but it might get me in trouble. Well, it's just because they've never showed up to a game before until, you know, they started winning. That's, that's what happened.

They were cheering for your offense? They were cheering for their offense, like screaming and yelling, "Go! Go! " before the snap or anything.

Like they were getting rowed and loudy? You're supposed to get loud and rowdy. Maybe the team didn't notice, and I used to have people root for them anyway. Well, if you would have watched Detroit TV, they said that they've never had this type of support.

They loved it. It was great for them. It motivated them on the field and they loved it. So it's probably not gonna stop.

Of course, it's not gonna stop. They're one of the best teams in the NFL. Well, there's a bunch of teams tied to the best record and we had lost because you jinxed them, Montgomery, because you said that was gonna happen. No, I said, I said Jamar Gibbs was going to have zero yards.

No, but you said one of our players is going to get crippled and died. And it's the same guy that had it happen to him in Chicago for the same five years. I did not say crippled and died. Wow, Michael, that's a little aggressive.

Well, basically, I was actually, you said something to the effect that he was going to get injured and leave the game. I don't know who that player was, but it happened in Montgomery, you were right. It was Jamar Gibbs because he was out for the game. I said, Jamar Gibbs is going to have zero yards.

Camera three would be nice. Camer 3. We played terrible and still put that sweet sauce on that back. I know, dude.

The Bucs didn't show up. It was a tough game for us. It doesn't matter. Seattle was like a bad game for us, and I thought we could have got better in that game, but when I saw us play against you guys yesterday, your defense actually did a great job.

It was literally just a bunch of different plays went through good and bad for both of us, but it was our offense did not look great and we still managed to, you know, so... He got a dub, yeah. Yeah. So I just want to call...

Before I leave this podcast, Philadelphia and Frisco to lose their undefeated record against Dog Rockets... Yeah. tells me that the greatest team in football is the Las Vegas Casinos. because there is no world where Philly and Frisco both go to sleep in the same day against the two dog rocket teams.

It's like, come on, man. You know, those were like such long shots. You know those suicide leagues? They all got mangled yesterday.

Right. Like there's barely any people left in them, and we're in week six. So we're going into seven. But it was a great team.

I was very proud of Jack. I made a post about him today in the Weasel group. Oh, yeah. He made primetime.

Well, it's not that. It's that he did a good job trash talking to you for the game. Actually, I didn't know the creamsicle story, so I have to Google that. There you go.

More power. More power. But I told him lions don't get head rushes when they eat all of them, so it doesn't matter. Perfect.

All right. Well, you have exceeded your time limit, sir. Just out of curiosity, do you give two minute time limits to everybody or just me? Just you.

Everybody else gets seven minutes? No, I mean, I just, to be honest, I would just rudely hang up on them when I was done speaking with them, but I have so much respect for you, and I love you so much that I let you know where the parameters were for you to say, okay, I love you, and goodbye, and then I would say, I love you, too. Who'd you hang up? Oh, Robby Doe.

Yeah. Bye, Palmer. Bye. Bye, Ronnie.

Love you. He hung up. Ronnie Haisha of Secreto Cigars. I had to take that post down, though, where he mentioned your son, because he was selling cigars again.

Oh, was he? Yeah. He started it very nice with the credit for your son. Then he went into what you can buy from him this week.

Well, he's, he's on that. He's got to do that. Yeah, but you can't sell stuff on Facebook. Right.

There are ways, but there are specific things that you can say and do in order to do it and not, you know. Right. But a link and saying what specials you get when you buy this, you get this with it. That's not good.

That's not good. Skip the rule, not mine. Okay. All right, so what else did you do?

I mean, I just covered two major things in my life. We had football on Friday. That was just for Justice's team. God, that was a disaster.

Oh, Jack didn't play Friday? No, they got pushed back to a doubleheader next week. Oh. Yeah, which is good for me because I would have been coaching, and we would have been short on players anyways.

Right. So it worked out better. Worked out better. Must be getting time for Phil's One Facts.

Must be. So, you know, but our kids couldn't pull flags for the life of them. Are they hard to do or something? Hard to get a hold of?

Flags are pretty hard. You know what, we have nine kids that have never played before. Oh. But we did have one kid who hasn't made a touchdown, who hasn't made a catch, he made a touchdown, which is awesome.

Oh, that's great. Yeah. But we gotta work on some stuff this week, because we're playing the team this Friday. Well, it's a double header.

Well, no. Justice is one, too. Oh, Justice. Is there time between the double header for them to get some orange slices or whatever they do?

Oh, yeah, I'm sure. I mean, come on. Not back to back? Iron Man football?

They're 45 minute games. Oh. You know. Right.

I would understand. That's a high school. That's a high school timeline. As far as your eight and your nine year olds and below, I would say luck.

I mean, come on. Back to back's a bit much. Right. 10, 11, 12.

Give me a break. Just 45 minutes. You've been playing the game enough. Right.

You know, you can handle it. Right. So, some snackies and we're moving on. Orange slices and some milk in.

You ready? Yeah. Pre-workout. Oh, yeah.

We hit them with the good stuff. That's good. Yeah, of course. Get that itchy skin.

Yeah, the niacin. I hate that stuff. Yeah. You know, I feel like cocaine's a little over the time.

Yeah. That's why we keep Lawrence Taylor away. Oh, okay. Yeah.

That's good. That's a good idea. Let's stunt your growth. What's that?

Stunt your growth. Does it? Yeah, it's hard on you when you're low. Is it?

Yeah, growth plates get affected and stuff. Oh, okay. It's terrible. It's good to know.

Right. Note to self. Cocaine is bad for youth. Right.

Okay. You ready for Phil's Fun Facts? He is, apparently. He's ready to go, huh?

The Cigar Hustlers Podcast Feature Fills Fun Facts. Hello, peoples. Alright. Fellas.

Some cigar smokers collect and save bands from the cigars they smoke as a way of preserving the smoking memories and the brands they smoke. But me? I save candy wrappers so I know when it's time to buy bigger pants. That's fantastic.

That's great. Good for you. At least you have some way to tell. So what's the number for candy wrappers when you decide to?

How many candy wrappers is it? Yeah. I don't know yet. Oh, you don't know yet, but you're, you're keeping track?

Yeah. Maybe he'll know next week. Keeping track. Yeah.

He'll know, he'll know next week. Look at him. This is me. This is, this is me being educated.

Hey, he's a good sport. At least he reads it. It's taken a while to get them there. Yeah, yeah.

You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. It's years. Right.

Years of hay. Hey. We're just having fun. Just having fun.

Just relax. It's all in good time. I would never, I would never give that fun fact to you though. I think you're beautiful.

I appreciate it. Yeah. Just the way you are. Yeah.

Things are moving faster. Things are moving faster. Don't go changing. We're going to the news already?

To try to please me. What are we doing for the Patreon? Oh, I don't know. They're over there.

Ooh. What are you doing? Camera three. La Provincia Sace.

Oh! Why? Why are we doing an Espinosa Cigar Mike? Because we have an Espinosa event this Friday, October 20th, Smashing Pumpkins event, with Eric Espinosa and Jack Taranio.

A lot of competition coming. For what? Who can smash a pumpkin the best? Oh, bro.

He didn't buy a lot of pumpkins I saw upstairs. It's a decent number. So, I've never had the green one. None of us have.

I've always had the, so this is the new one? This is the new one. The purple one? I've always had the purple.

The purple one. Blue? Something? It's purple.

Who knows? Who knows? But we're excited. Yes.

This is going to be available at the event. There will be a little special surprise with these, just so you know that it's going to be in the store. So, make sure that you're here, we got some Guy Fieri tequila bottles that are signed that we're giving away, some signed boxes of Guy Fieri cigars, no Guy Fieri though, yeah, no Guy Fieri, no Guy Fieri, just on the bottle, no, if we told him that there was a special cheeseburger here, he might show up, uh, there's a special cheeseburger here, guy, I'm sure he's a listener, he should be listener of the week, yeah, listener of the week, Guy Fieri, yeah, he loves, he loves the podcast, he listens all the time, huge, huge man, huge, he'll make his own cheeseburgers. Yeah.

He could make pork butt burgers. He could have whipped them up. Yeah. Oh, yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. Super specials. Super specials.

Are there going to be things to eat with the pork butt, or are you just going to try a plate of meat? Do you want, what do you want? I don't know, I'm just asking. Do you want mac and cheese?

Sure, I like mac and cheese. That sounds delicious. It does. Mac and cheese and pork?

That sounds good. Alright, I'll get you mac and cheese. Baked beans is always great, you know what? I don't know how I'm going to solve this now, but thank you for making more requirements on me.

Can't we have Britney's coleslaw? You want me to tell her? Instead of the mac and cheese. Okay, so you can just handle all this on Friday, that'd be great.

And then run it here. Right, right, right, and bring it up there. Yeah. That'd be good.

In a timely fashion. Well, yeah, of course. I just told her there were doubleheaders of football. Oh, she didn't know that either.

Yeah, what? She didn't know that? Who didn't know that? Your wife.

She knows it now? Oh, well, yeah, you just told her. But she didn't know before that. No, she knew before that.

Oh, in fact, she had to tell you. That's the only one you knew. No, I knew. Oh.

I knew beforehand. I'm a coach. Oh, that's right. Yeah.

The coach. How did I go this week? You were the lone coach last week, weren't you? No, well, it got...

Oh, so it didn't happen. Got axed, yeah. So this week, are you the lone coach? No.

Oh, everybody's coming back? Yeah. Did they do it because they were afraid of you coaching the children by yourself? I was terrified.

No, I mean... No, were they terrified? No, I did a practice with them. It was a little shaky.

Yeah. A lot of yelling. A lot of anger. No, here's what's fascinating.

Emotional distress for the children. I'll tell you exactly what's... Here's what's fascinating. Okay.

They'll have therapists. So, missing one or two key component kids in a game at that level is huge. Oh, yes. So, you know, one of our best kids wasn't gonna be there.

Oh. So, for the game, not the practice. Yeah, so what happens, and he wasn't there for the, well, he was there for the practice, but it made him do just defense only because I was trying to figure out the offense. Gotcha.

So, then you start honing, if the defense hones in on the other kid, that's your primary. Right. They can get messy fast. Oh.

So, it worked out well. I'm glad that, you know, because now he can play this Friday. Do they have shirts with their names on them? Yeah.

Change shirts. They won't know who he is. Like if they practice all week to go after Stepan Kavich? No, they don't do that.

It's not how it works. After like the first session of offense, then they start saying, okay. Okay, well then in the middle, change shirts. Okay.

Fuse the other team. I don't think it would work that way. I never know. It'd be a great attempt though.

They're going to say, go after number 10. Whatever you do, go after number 10. They say names. Yeah, but they can't pronounce Stepan Kavich.

Okay. He's shoring it up on the back. Yeah. So anyways.

Go after 10. 10, go after 10. Yeah, let's go on the news. Hi.

Oh, now we're going on. Can you get a camera too? From the four corners of the world, all the cigar industry news you could possibly need. The Cigar Hustler Podcast.

With Mike too. J. Fernandez. Oh, the Bocock.

J. Fernandez. Is that the... The Bococ.

The Crate people? I don't know. J. J.

Fernandez to reimagine the World Traveler Maduro line. Oh. Who went to the reimagine? I mean redo?

Does he just sit there and go, hmm, okay, it'll be $10,000? The new version of the World Traveler Maduro uses a Mexican San Andreas wrapper on... I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Let me know when you're done, I'll let go of the button. Okay. Thank you. It's a significantly different blend than the other World Traveler Maduro blend, which debuted in 2019.

The cigar uses a Nicaraguan wrapper, Honduran-grown Connecticut seed binder, and fillers from Nicaragua, and production handled by the San Judas Tadeo factory in Honduras. San Judas? Have you ever heard of them? No.

So these guys just came out with a Connex Bock-looking cigar. No, I don't think it's the same guy. It's not the Bocock? That's not the Bocock?

I don't think the Bocock makes the container. Oh. I don't think so. We knew it would be easy.

We knew it would be easy. It would be a nice container for the cock, though. It would be. Yeah.

For the Bocock. Yeah. Yes. Yeah.

It's a longer box. Girthier. It's almost like Bocock. Nope.

Write that down. 26 minutes. 26 minutes. 26.

Okay, the number's written on the paper now. We knew it wouldn't be easy, said brothers Bryant and Doug Bocock in a press release when talking We turned the line to a new factory, but we also knew we were in good hands and are outgoing pursuit of excellence. With the pair going on to call, Abe Fernandez, a mentor to them, is being offered in three sizes. How is it difficult?

You need to tell the other factory, no more. You're just making another cigar. Yeah. I mean, he reimagined it.

So really, you just go, AJ, make me three cigars. Yeah. Right. The Bocock Robusto, the Bocock Toro, the Bocock Gordo.

Oh, super difficult all to bake. 50 and $12 per cigar, each size offered in 20-count boxes. The updated version of the World Traveler Maduro is now available for retailers to order. Are we going to carry the Bocock?

I don't know. Who knows what the future holds for us? Who knows? Yeah.

Karen Berger Cigars has distribution in Poland, Michael! Oh! I figured this would be exciting for you. Karen Berger Cigars has announced that its cigars are now being distributed in Poland by Iguana Gorski.

Iguana. Is he a relative? No. No.

Gorski. Iguana Gorski. We're really excited to be working with the Iguana, said Bruce Bush, Vice President. I added that.

It sounded better. Oh. If my name was Iguana, I wouldn't everybody call me Iguana. I'm the Iguana.

I'm the Iguana. Yeah. Vice President Karen Berger Cigars, in an email to Cigars Podcast, their commitment to excellence can be seen in their pristine cigar lounge. Cigar lounges.

Cigaro in downtown Warsaw. Have you been there? No. Oh.

It's a perfect example of what a fantastic cigar lounge should be. Oh, really? Are you leaving? Yes.

Why are you leaving? Because I have to go. Wow. Are we breaking or what are we doing?

Oh, he has to poop. No, no, just keep going. Just keep going in 28 minutes. Eganosa Leaf is shipping the 100 ring, 100 ring gauge cigar, last week, oh look Michael, get that on play with it Michael, wait people watch, can you go to two, Michael's gonna play with that, one of the largest cigars ever to be sold, has been shipped to stores, Eganosa Leaf is ready to be, They are ready to ship the JFR Lunatic Maduro the size that shall not be named a 10 by 100 Bellicoso.

Yes, you heard it right, folks, a 10 inch by 100 ring gauge cigar. For consumers concerned about the jaw-breaking size, it's a Bellicoso, which should make it easier to smoke. It's tapered. Yeah.

Make it easier to insert. Yeah, it's better for penetration. Yes. Eats, let's see, the cigar uses the same blend as the regular JFR Lunatic Maduro, just a lot more.

A Mexican San Andreas wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Esteli and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua is made at the company's factory in Esteli. Feels like a home defense thing. 99 per cigar. Such a deal.

Wow. Today only. 99. That would be at the Cigaro in downtown Warsaw.

That's where they talk about that. With the Iguana. Yeah, come see me. The Iguana.

I am the Iguana. The Iguana. See, when I joined Agronose over five years ago, I was surprised to produce so many large ring-gauge cigars, said Terrence Riley VP of sales and marketing for Agronose Relief. In a press release, when the cigar was announced, then I looked at the sales and realized there was tremendous market demand for them.

I don't think there's tremendous demand for this. Is the air thinner up there? Are you so tall? You know what?

Here's what's funny. Giraffes like DT's or something? What? I could say the Femurs?

But the Fever is mentioned in the story later. Ah. That's one of the most sought after Roma cigars. Yeah, but that's because it's a novelty though, not for everyday smoking.

Yeah, that won't, you know. You don't think somebody will try some of the smoking? Of course, because, listen, it's the cigar industry. A lot of people are completely consumed with their own egos and they feel like...

Yes, I can smoke this. That wouldn't even fit in my mouth. Oh. Well, how would you know?

32 minutes, wouldn't even fix my mouth. Uh, that trend hasn't changed, this cigar is proof of it. While limited in production, Agronose Leaf plans to make 2,500 cigars per year of this giant thing. Uh, while absolutely massive, the JFR Lunatic Maduro, the size that shall not be named, is not the largest cigar to be commercially sold.

It's not. A decade ago, Roma Craft Tobac produced and sold the Cro-Magnum Femur. Which is said, which it says measured 10 by 133 and a third. Well, congratulations Terrence for being number two.

Wow. Oh, that was funny. I wish I would have wrote that on here. HVC Black Friday 2023, shipping later this month.

Ah. For the 10th edition of its Black Friday series of limited edition cigars, HVC Cigars is releasing its thickest Black Friday cigar to date. Really? Everything's going bigger, Michael.

Interesting. Interesting. The HVC, you're going smaller with... Eating?

Corona Gorda. Corona Gorda, thank you. Corona Gorda, everybody else is going bigger. We're going the other direction.

Oh, in the other direction. That's right. We're going to make the smallest cigar. We are the trendsetters.

Right? The HVC Black Friday 2023 will be a four and a half... Box press Corona Gorda is across the board next PCA. Everybody's doing it.

Everybody's going to be doing it. We decided to make something smaller this year. That's what they're going to say. And I know why.

Because there's a tobacco shortage. We're making all these. Due to tobacco shortages for making all of these cigars that shall not be named. Gigantors.

Gigantors. Let's see. It's a 4 1⁄2 by 56 Petit Gordo that uses a Mexican San Andreas. 1 1⁄2 by 56.

Interesting. It's like little? Yeah. It's like short and fat.

Right. Yeah. What are you trying to say? I don't know.

The company says that those Nicaraguan tobaccos are Visos and Seccos. Ah. meaning the tobaccos come from the lower two-thirds of the plant from jalapa each cigar will have an msrp of 980 per cigar and production is limited to 600 boxes of 50 cigars while the only uh while only the ninth year black light blah blah blah iguana black friday releases this is the 10th release in the series so we went and bought some so how do i explain this i don't know what you're What are you talking about? So, Justice got a bunch of cash for his birthday.

Right. And Target gift cards. We bought him one of those. We took him to Target?

Yeah. And he bought a bunch of things. Like the most random shit on the planet. This kid, he's too much.

He wanted this vampire. It's like this tall. Right. And it's a skeleton vampire.

I don't know what that means. It's just, it's just a, it looks like a bat. Oh, like a skeleton. Like a bat skull thing.

Yeah. Like a human form bat. Okay. Almost, without wings.

And it says, Trico 3, the blah, blah, blah. Oh, we're in the Halloween department. Yeah. Okay.

This is what he wanted. Right. He hasn't turned this fucking thing off for three days. Thanks.

It's been going so much to a point where he hides it behind him. Right. And he lip syncs it. Oh, of course.

Yeah. And then he gets Teddy to do it, too. Oh, nice. Oh, yeah.

Your turn, Teddy. Symphony. You do it. Blah, blah, blah.

He just reminded me of that. He got, it was the craziest shit. You got a little snake thing that's broken. What does it say?

It just moves. Oh. You hold the tail and it moves? You got a remote control.

Yeah, but it goes by itself. Oh. You got a remote control tarantula? Yeah.

Bubbles does not like that. I was going to say, Bubbles tries to eat it. Bubbles tries to eat it. Yeah, I'm sure.

Random. It's random. When Teddy tells him to. Yeah.

Yeah. No spider. No spider bubbles. Okay.

What that has to do with this story? I have no idea. Well, you said blah, blah, blah. Oh, I see the tie-in.

Sorry, I didn't see one. I didn't know what's going to happen there. I completely lost my place. Next story.

Next story. Next story. Viaje announces a return of Full Moon. Yes.

And adds Mini Moon. Mini Moon, yes. They went smaller, too. White label.

Everybody but Agronosa went smaller. Everybody went. Oh, see, I'm already saying the trend. It's the trend.

It's crazy. It's the trend. Everybody's going bigger in the trend, except Viaje and Postana. We are the trendsetters.

Right. Viaje has announced that it will soon be shipping a new batch of Full Moon, One of the company's season releases that is tied to Halloween, as well as adding a smaller version called the Mini Moon to the series. The Full Moon debuted in 2013. It's a 5x58 Petit Gordo Vitola.

Was Half Moon taken? Yes. Someone's got a Half Moon. Someone's got a Half Moon.

They make a box shaped like a Half Moon, so they can't do it. Oh, yeah. So they went Mini. Right.

Smaller. Smaller. Mini Moon. Not Full.

The Not Full Moon. The Not Full Moon, right. The Unfull. Right.

The Less Moon. Let's see. The following show is the various Viaje Full Moon cigars Where's that event? We don't care about them.

Yeah. So, I just want you to know, we did order them. There's so many. We did order them.

The mini moon? Yeah. Oh, nice. I took them.

Oh, good. Yeah. Entered that email on a timely matter this time. I responded.

Oh, nice. Noraly VI, I think, is the one you miss. Well, it's, yeah, it misses it. I've been on top of it lately, but they're, you know, it's a hit or miss thing.

Sometimes you want to pass. Right. No, no, I understand, but sometimes you respond after and it's too late. Yeah, and then you're like, no.

They're like, no, I'm sorry. And where the hell have you been? Trying to get Justin Andrews on the phone? Yeah.

As for the blend, the original Full Moon is Nicaraguan Puro with Corojo 99 Rapper Leaf in 2015. They had so many different things. Forget that. All right, Florida stories.

We have two Florida stories. You ready? I'm ready. That started at 30 minutes, so we're at 37 minutes.

I got it. Okay, just so you know. But we stopped at 28. Yes, I know.

So take two out. If I just... So you added the two out? Yeah, sure.

We had two minutes of me talking to my wife on the phone. I called her back. Oh, you did? Teacher work day.

She just got off early. I forgot it was teacher work day. Oh, okay. So then, yeah, you can cut that out.

Yeah. Well, I will. I won't add that in. It's just me sitting here and talking on the phone.

Yeah, so ridiculous. All right. We've done the alligator attack stories. We've done the giant snakes in the Everglades, the birds attacking people last year in Fort Lauderdale, even various stories of attacking insects.

But now we have a new menace in Florida. Do we? Yes. Hold on.

Wait, wait, wait, wait. It attacks people. It's an animal? Bears?

We covered bears. No, we did bears. There was a bear in a boat, but I passed on this one. Iguanas?

No, we did the iguanas. They fall out of the... Monkey, monkey, monkey, monkey. We did monkeys.

The monkeys that had the AIDS around the island. Not AIDS, but they had gonorrhea. They had AIDS. The gonorrhea monkeys.

They might have AIDS now. I don't know. Depends on if they got, you know, tied up in that. Snails.

Yeah. They're not taking that medicine you see on TV. I did enjoy your clip from the Chet Ballmer show. Oh, I saw it.

I saw it. You laughed. Oh, that's pretty funny. It is an animal.

Go to camera two, please, because we're discussing. It is an animal. Yes. You'll never guess.

Snail. Nope. We did snail. We did attack on the snails one week.

Worms. Centipedes? No, we've done that too. What about the...

That's the various insects. Love bugs? No. That qualifies as various insects.

They don't really attack, though. A bat. They're just annoying. Is it a mammal?

I believe so. A bat. Is it furry? Yes.

Raccoons? No. Those are mammals? Possums?

No. Those are mammals? Yeah. They get birthed to live other animals.

Possums are marsupials. Yeah, but they're mammals too, aren't they? I don't know. Can I just go on?

All right, go ahead. All right, down in Jupiter, a rabbit otter attacked the man. According to health officials, the Florida Department of Health said the attack happened Wednesday in Jupiter, Florida, in Palm Beach County. According to WPTV-TV, the 74-year-old man, The man told animal care and control that he was feeding corn to ducks at a nearby pond and was returning home when he spotted the otter.

And the otter went hard in the pain on him. The man began to back up slowly while facing the otter, and the animal attacked him for several minutes. The otter then pulled the gun after his wallet. The man suffered dozens of wounds on his arms and legs.

Whoa. The victim told WPTV-TV that he was receiving shots for rabies exposure and was visiting a hand surgeon to see if he suffered any permanent damage. The otter also attacked a pet dog in the area, according to FDOH. The otter was captured and tested positive for rabies, officials said.

Mm. Rabies is kind of an interesting thing. No, how do they test? They have to cut the head off.

That's how they test? They have to check the brain. Huh. So the attacking otter has been taken care of.

I mean... He's been handled. It is kind of fascinating that there's a thing out there. Yeah.

That makes you go crazy and attack things. Right. Yeah. Attack people and dogs apparently.

We need more of that. I mean, he's going after things that's not even close to his size. So what happens when people get rabies? You have to get the shot in the stomach.

Do you get to go crazy and attack people? I guess if it's not treated. But only things bigger than you. So he goes after elephants and sharks and things.

That sounds amazing. Yeah. We assumed you had rabies years ago. Just so you know.

Probably got rabies. And then in Volusia County. Yes. Over 60 pounds of cocaine was discovered over the weekend.

Cocaine. Cocaine. Cocaine. Cocaine.

I said cocaine. I said cocaine. Oh, cookie. S.

Border Patrol agents. Who turns it in? Well, I saw the photo of it. It wasn't white.

It was brown. Yeah, it's wrapped up in the packaging. No, no, they had tore it. I don't think it had been processed.

There you go. That's the word, processed. Yeah, that's the real deal. That's 100% natural, right?

That's good money there. Yeah, no kidding. They announced a fine to Monday afternoon explaining the Border Patrol agents and deputies with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office sees 67 pounds of cocaine with a street value of... 2 million.

No, it's more money, buddy. Nope. 60 pounds? Too high.

67 pounds. Half a million dollars? 9,070 dollars. That's it?

970,000 dollars. Oh, I was about to say. Almost a million dollars. Almost a million dollars.

Bro! What the fuck are we doing, Florida? What are we doing? Think how much is not reported, though.

I mean, what, they're only, what, four this year that they found on the beach? Yeah, there's a lot of guys dead, because we've had a lot of stories of drugs washing up on the beach here. So, if you're missing this, this was found in the area of 2-9-0-0 north of the beach, Ormond-by-the-Sea, if you by chance lost a package. All those people are dead now, thanks a lot.

Someone who was walking on the beach. No additional information was provided. Señor, what did you want me to do? They're coming.

I dropped it off the boat. Yeah, that's what that was. That was a health and comfort check on a boat. Yes.

Someone dipped it out. That's all I got. You guys are fine. We are fishing.

We are fishing. What's that bunch of Cubans on the boat with fishing lines in the water? What's that big bag in the water? We're not.

We shall go by. We're not touching. Why is your boat set up for non-radar indicators? What are those hidden compartments open on the bottom?

Is that with the bait? We put bait in those. That's where they are. The bait box.

We build boat ourselves. We're cleaning the ocean. Picking up trash. We're looking for the bottles.

All right, Michael, what's the listener of the week? Listener of the week? John Richards. John Richards.

Congratulations, sir. You're listening of the week. You don't win anything, but we really appreciate you listening. Yes.

Shop of the week, Michael. Shop of the Week is a new one, Man Cave in Fort Lauderdale. We are going to be there. Man Cave in Fort Lauderdale.

We're going to be there today. Is there a different Man Cave? On Tuesday. There are Man Caves everywhere.

Oh, is it a chain? It's not a chain, I don't think. Oh, there's Cigar Cave in Tampa. I thought that was...

Yeah, Cigar Cave. It's a totally different cave. Completely different cave. Not owned by a man.

But there's multiple of the shop? It's a woman's cigar cave. Yes. Yeah, it's a woman's cave.

It's a woman's cave. Which is a completely different thing altogether. Yeah, that's called a She Shed. Right.

It's actually Cigar She Shed. Right. In Tampa. He had a question.

He always has one question. No, I think it's just the one. Oh. Yeah, but Man Cave is a common name.

Yeah. I have a sign in my garage that says Man Cave. Right. We could just go to my house.

Would you like to buy a Powstanie? No. I need samples. I need samples.

Then I can't go to your house. I need a lot of samples. Let me see that credit card. Not for samples, it was a sample.

It was a complimentary. I'm going to need a commitment. Normally complimentary. Well, I don't have a lot of shelf space, Michael.

Oh, yeah? Yeah. That's all right. You're running out of shelf space?

Running out of shelf space. You just need the shelf space big enough for the 100 cigar. You don't have inventory? Humidor.

Yeah, a little deep in inventory. Too much, yeah. You like it, but you don't love it? Yeah, you know, maybe if I had more to try.

Yeah. Some more samples? Maybe an assortment of the sizes. I hear you're going smaller, so I'd like to try the small ones.

Yeah, you've heard good things. I've heard good things, that's right. Even though the trend is bigger. Huh, who knew?

Who knew? It's crazy. Okay, we're in 45 minutes, when are we going to do it now? I feel good about 45 minutes.

Would you ever make a cigar that big from Postana? Well, that was two questions in one. Would you ever make a cigar that big? Sure, I'd make a cigar that big.

Would it be under the Postana line? Probably not. He'd call it Mikey's Third Leg. You know, there are consumers for all types of different things.

So... Yeah, you only have to make, what was it, 2,500 of them. That's it? There's 2,500 of that?

Yes. He's very rare. Yeah, 2,500 cigars per year. There you go.

Call the dog bone. Any other questions? 10 more minutes, 10 more minutes of questions. What big things do you have coming up?

So no, he doesn't have any other questions. So this weekend, Friday is the Espinosa event. Yep. Next week is the Howard G event.

Yep. You got a lot of events. And then there's an event for that too, isn't there? That's the QB birthday event.

No, that one, but then there's a Drew State event coming up or something? There's an event event? I think that's in December. Well, I know, that would be, oh, December, not November.

I don't know. What's the November event? Who knows? Oh.

Maybe it is. No, yeah, it was like November. It was like the first part of December. November 2nd.

That was December 1st. Okay. All right, this has been episode 303 of Cigar Hustler Podcast. Thank you, bye.
