Episode 127 Sex Dolls! The Mummy? Neighbor Update

Episode Summary
Mike and Mike open Episode 127 by marking nearly three years of the show and the kind words they've been getting from other cigar media figures, then spend the first stretch on Father's Day recaps, Waffle House, dieting, and a fully fabricated "official transcript" of Michael's now-infamous run-in with his neighbor — plus a real-life update on how that neighbor has since tried to smooth things over.
The cigar news portion is the meat of the episode. With the 2020 PCA trade show cancelled, RoMa Craft Tobac announced a virtual trade show: private 15–30 minute Zoom appointments with retailers from July 1–14, open to both existing accounts and new retailers, with the Bakken line available to order only through those sessions. The hosts also give an update on their ongoing (and now patched-up) RoMa Craft saga involving Skip Martin and the RoMa Craft crew. Southern Draw Cigars, meanwhile, cancelled all in-person events for the remainder of 2020, with Robert Holt's statement read in full and the hosts praising him as one of the genuinely nicest people in the industry. They also cover the cancellation of the Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival, confirm they are still planning to attend Weasel Fest, and break down the lawsuit filed by R.J. Reynolds, R.J. Reynolds Vapor, American Snuff Company and Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company against Edina, Minnesota over its flavored tobacco ban — a suit that mirrors the challenge to Los Angeles County's ban and hinges on federal preemption under the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act.
Between the industry items are the show's usual off-ramps: 7-Eleven cancelling Free Slurpee Day, The Bold and the Beautiful using a repurposed corpse mannequin as a stand-in for love scenes, a package of marijuana delivered to the wrong Texas address, mask fatigue and the Florida COVID spike, the University of Florida retiring the "Gator Bait" chant, Disney cancelling Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and the Saharan dust plume headed for Florida. They close with podcast rankings and listener-map talk, and dedicate the Listener of the Week to Jason Wolpert following the passing of his father. Next week: Erik Espinosa and Jack Torano are due at the shop for a cornhole tournament and smoker giveaway.

Hey, I'm Mike Tu. Welcome to a Cigar Hustler Podcast, Episode 127. This week, sex dolls, the mummy, and an update on Michael's little neighbor situation. All that and more on the number one cigar rated podcast on Podbean, a Cigar Hustler's Podcast.
All right, welcome to episode 127 of a Cigar Hustler podcast. Did you ever think we'd make it this far? No, I didn't think we'd make it past the year. And here we are.
Oh, three years, going on our third year. Dominating the cigar industry with this podcast. It's just mind-boggling. It's amazing.
Yes. We're still not media, though. No, but Coop said something nice to me the other day. He's like, you know, you guys are doing a great job.
Oh, I had a nice little chat with Coop, too. He sent a video Facebook to me, so. Oh, me too. Tell me the same thing.
He enjoys the show. We're doing a good job. We have him and everyone else's and the media's respect. That's not, well, we have his respect.
He said everyone. We definitely don't have Charlie's respect. I don't think he's respect. Half wheel?
No. Well, does he do a video still? I don't think he respects anybody. No.
He doesn't like people. I don't know if he does a video still. I even had a little chat with Aaron Loomis. He said nice things.
He's a good guy. Yes. Eric from Dojo, him too. I like the fact that we've got some notoriety.
Here we are. At least they're all talking about us. They're probably going, I'm an idiot. They still got a show going on.
I can't believe they're still doing it. I can't believe they haven't given up yet. Yeah. So what did you do?
What did you do for Father? Oh, Happy Father's Day, Michael. No, Happy Father's Day, Michael. Same to you.
You probably saw your children. I did. Yeah, I got a couple of text messages and a couple of phone calls. Like, hey.
My wife took me out to breakfast. She took me out to dinner. I had a good day. Your kids will miss you when you're dead.
I'm like, man. Maybe, maybe. I should have. I don't know.
Well, Connor was going to come over. He just lives in Eustis. He threatened to come over. Well, Corona is out there at his local, in his area.
Somebody from the public said he goes to and a couple of other places. " He played that card. Yeah. I'm self-quarantining for Sunday.
Right. Can't come. Self-quarantine. We went to Waffle House for breakfast.
That's my favorite place. I love Waffle House. I've never been. You've never been to Waffle House?
Never been to Waffle House. The best-run company in America. Wow. It is.
That's quite the statement. It is. But since, okay, well, you've never been to one. Their booths don't move.
I mean, they are attached to the building. Okay. First, the building was the cleanest I've ever seen the building. Normally, there's dead bugs and spiderwebs on the outside and everything.
Not anymore. Oh, no. Very clean. Very clean.
And now, between the booth, they have dropped plastic sheets. Nice. To keep you safe. Well, they're still blowing in the air conditioning.
They're not really that secure, but yes, they're very safe. Keep you safe. Do you get the waffles? No, I don't.
How do you go to the Waffle House and not get waffles? Because it's too much sugar. They don't have sugar-free syrup. Like, there was a time that I went to Pollo Tropicol and didn't get chicken.
And I ordered, I always, no, I always order chicken. Oh, that is the dirtiest place in the world. Okay, well, I love it, so whatever. And I ordered, I get my chicken choppy chop, it's my move, you know, a little rice, beans, chicken.
Oh. Like, sir, we're out of chicken. I was like... It's in the name!
That's exactly what I said, I go, are you serious? Yeah, sir, we don't have any more chicken. I'm like, but the name of the place... Is chicken!
Is chicken, Tropical Chicken! Like, what, what in the... How do they run out of chicken? So what do I order now, a salad or something?
It's like going to KFC and they go, I'm sorry, we're all out of chicken. Yeah, it's just insane. That's just ridiculous. Yeah, that happened a long time ago.
It's like McDonald's and they're out of hamburgers. I'm sorry, we don't, we don't, I like the Big Mac. It's gonna be a problem. A little tight here, sir.
Here's the deal. Would you like maybe a Filet-O-Fish? Now at this point at McDonald's, if they don't have my fucking Egg McMuffin whenever I want, I'm upset. Oh, we don't, we stopped serving breakfast.
The breakfast is 24 hours now. Just nuke it. Just take it out of the freezer. Breakfast is 24 hours a day.
Hit the button. Not at every location. Well, you need to go to a correct McDonald's. You're probably right.
I mean, I need to stay away from McDonald's in general. It's not like you can't find another one across the street from the one you're at that's probably got it. It's like the Shrek where they run out of the Starbucks and go into the other Starbucks. Right.
Same thing. So, no, my Father's Day was great, man. You know, lovely picture your wife took of you from Glamour Shots. That was very nice.
That was from back in the day. That was a-- That wasn't a recent photo? No, that was from when we were at Universal like six months ago, I think. Oh, well, that's not really back in the day.
That was back in the day. Six months ago? I was six months-- I'm six months older now. You did look a little heavier in the photo.
I did. I did. I figured you noticed that. I was like, ooh.
Ooh, ooh, a little bit. You sure you gotta put that one up on me? I'm gonna have to jog a little. Yeah, I know.
But yeah, no, man. You know, I had a great Father's Day. You know, for me, i don't know i have a great every sunday you know cheat day yeah i get to eat a bunch of garbage which i love and you know i get to hang out with my boys and you know we uh we started carb free today oh i'm fucking starving wow yeah it's so stupid i'm hungry when you cate when you when you cave it's gonna be bad yeah i know i lose a bunch of weight and then so here's the One thing, why don't you start, this is something that I'm just learning about. Okay, what do you say about it?
It's called, there's these things out there called GDAs, and it's like glucose disabling something. Amino acids. No, but some of them are amino acids. So, like, you can get like cinnamon extract, or, um...
Oh man, you want me to load me up on pills? Like, different things that what they'll do is they will curb your appetite from boosting insulin levels when you have carbohydrates and creating more fat in your body. Oh. So, yeah.
Well, by the time I get home, we may not be doing it any longer. It may be gone. It may be over. It depends on, you know, what kind of day the wife's had at home by herself.
All right, so you're not really that committed. Okay, that's good. Well, I, you know, we had, what, eggs, bacon, and sausage for breakfast, and then chicken for lunch. Oh, so you're going for a heart attack.
Okay. Yeah, yeah, nothing like, you know, some fucking high levels of fats and saturated fats to really get you through. Exactly. Yeah.
Yeah. Good for you. Oh, that's the end of the diet tip. So, I mean, did you guys do anything?
I mean, lots of presents? Yeah, I got some gifts, you know. I don't know, man, you know, like, dude. It's not a big day, it's Mother's Day, it never is.
You know, it's not, I don't think that that's the case for me, to be honest. And I think that realistically, I mean, I have a good life, dude. I got it on lockdown, you know, I mean, my wife handles so much shit for me, right, on a weekly basis, that, you know, it's not like I don't want to, she's not feeling well, I don't want to, it's, you know, like, I don't want to sit down and just kind of do nothing, you know, like, I want to cut the grass, like, you know, I want to go, I want to do the shit like I got all my chores on Saturday so I could just sit and do nothing. Yeah, I just wanted to.
She goes, what do you want to do? I go, take me to breakfast and then let me smoke a cigar and watch movies and then we'll go get something to eat. That's all you got to do. But, you know, like I struggled to kind of sit and do nothing for a long period of time.
I'm like, OK, I got to do something. You know, I got to feel like I've accomplished something. Just a day. So, yeah, it was a great day.
It's almost every Sunday is a great Sunday. So just a regular Sunday for you. It wasn't a regular Sunday, but... Every day for the king is a good day.
I am, man. Life is good. It's good to be the king. It's good to be the king.
Alright, last week you told a story about your run-in with your neighbor. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I have contacted actual eyewitnesses, and I have the actual transcript, Michael, of the conversation with your...
Oh, you're not allowed to talk to my wife anymore. with your neighbor. So, we're gonna read it. I have an update.
Oh, we can tell the update after we do this because the update might change this. So I have two copies of the transcripts. You're going to do the neighbor. I'm going to be you.
Oh, okay. Excellent. This is a lie. Oh, you blacked out.
Oh, your version has been redacted so that you cannot see your actual words. Oh, so you have not talked to my wife. I'm looking here and you've clearly... I don't know.
This is exactly what, for my witnesses, this was the account I was given. That's the account I was given. This is definitely not how this worked. Oh no, exactly how it was.
But okay, let's play along. Okay, please. Yeah, go ahead, you're the neighbor. Excuse me, Mr.
Szczeporkiewicz? What the fuck is your problem? Hey, I hate to bother you, but my sick, dying grandmother- What, she's not dead yet? No.
No, she's very sick. And your porn is just so loud. It's not porn, I'm banging your wife over here. Mike, sir, I'm sorry, but I'm not married.
Yeah, figures. A loser like you can't get a woman. Then I'm banging your mother. That's hurtful.
Anyway, you can maybe be a smidge quieter. Oh, now you've crossed the line. I'm gonna kill you. And then from there, your wife said she had to leave the room.
Oh, okay. She said it was just too much. That's all she could handle. She was more gassed up than I was.
So, this is clearly a lie. Oh, this is exactly what they said. I like that you have fun with this stuff, though, with like the little tweet things and stuff like that. You're very creative.
Oh, thank you. Thank you. I tried to get your neighbor on the phone, maybe next week. Oh, that'd be epic.
It takes a little more prep work to get the neighbor on the phone. I mean, he's very socially inept, so I ran into him. Well, actually, as I was... Physically?
Well, yeah, after you threatened to kill him. So I was doing flooring, so I had to pick up some stuff to... Oh, outside of the neighborhood. No, so we were out in front of the house, and I was pulling shit in, and he'd come walk, so I walked in his office.
He's like, "Oh, what are you, what's the project? " And I looked at him, just stalling speakers. I looked at him, home theater in the back. " Very rough.
" Oh, he's got knee pads. I see next week's going completely different. Great. I said, I'm good, man.
Thanks. So, like, that's usually his MO. Like, after he crosses the line. Then he tries to be nice.
He tries to give you shit. Like, yeah. Instead of just saying, hey, you know what, man? I really shouldn't have.
I'm sorry, dude. He's scared of you. Like, if you ask me to turn it down, I'm going to turn it down. I'm like, no problem, man.
Like, that would have been it. But he asked you to aim your speakers in the direction. Well, he just kept beating a dead horse is the problem. He's trying to help you out.
Maybe if you just turned your speakers a little bit, it wouldn't, you know, the porn wouldn't be so loud. I don't remember asking you for my, for help, so... No. Oh.
I, uh... Great. And an update, an update in our AromaCraft situation, I, uh... Oh, did you?
Yes, so, uh, you know, I needed to place an order for some, some product. Yes? And, uh... Did you call Sean?
No, I reached out to Rosales, um, and then Danny had texted me afterwards to, to handle the order. So, we had correspondents, we handled the order. Oh, so we buried the hatchet. " I so hoped he would have brought something up on one of the shows that he does, but nothing.
No, he wouldn't. He didn't even dignify you. No, but he was deleting my comments on his… Oh, did he? He was.
He was deleting my comments. I'm sure he was just getting a good laugh. Oh. You know, at my expense.
It's fine. Sean's schedule, he deleted that comment. " It's funny. Yeah.
So. Alright, on with the show then, you ready? I am ready. Alright.
7-Eleven cancels free Slurpee Day because of the coronavirus, but will still give away free frozen drinks in July. That's where I draw the line. That's where I draw the line. The nation's largest convenience store chain has announced it's canceling its in-store birthday celebration and free slurpy day because of the uncertainties associated with the Corona-19 pandemic.
The annual tradition has been held on July 11th, AKA 7-Eleven, since 2002, 7-Eleven's 75th birthday. It has been the company's busiest day of the year with millions of visitors. Marissa Jarrett, the chain's senior vice president and chief marketing officer, said in a news release, Oh, I don't have a voice ready for this, but that would have been so funny if she, like, smoked cigarettes and real scratchy. Hello, what are you doing?
However, 7-Eleven isn't canceling free Slurpee drinks together. To help with social distancing, members of the Free 7 Rewards Loyalty Program will get a coupon for a free medium Slurpee redeemable once in July. Yay. Yay, so you have to join their thing.
I think it's a transition for them as a reason to stop giving out all the free Slurpees. Look. How much money could be involved in Slurpee, though? It's ice, water, and some food coloring, and a little flavoring.
The problem, at this point, okay, you know, it's been, the corona shit has been spun so many times, and yes, it's a pandemic, yes, you know, it's running rampant, but the original, the original. Well, now it's, do you wear a mask, do you don't wear a mask? Right, the original thing was, hey, we need everybody to just stay fucking where you are and give us some time, we're going to not necessarily stop the pandemic, but we're going to slow the pandemic. That was the plan, yeah, we're going to try to slow this thing down.
So hospitals have enough time to catch up, and we can get a better look at this thing and kind of figure this shit out, right? Right. Now we got this steroid that's readily available that's saving lives. Oh, is there steroid now?
I haven't heard this. You got hospital beds. So we gave up on the quinine. The hydrochloroquine?
Yeah. Yeah, that's done. The malaria drug. We've moved well past that.
We've moved past it. That didn't work. Apparently there's an easier solution. Oh.
So, you know, hospital beds are at an all time low. You know, we have prepared for this thing. It's here. It's kind of like, I mean, and I guess it's like when we have a hurricane.
Yes. Right? You have some time to prepare. Right.
And then normally, after it blows through, and people are like, help us, help us, usually, you know, your governor's like, well, hey, listen, man, I fucking told you to prepare, like, I don't know what else you want from me, so we've prepared, we've done our part, things are, okay, they're not great, but they're not horrible, as far as the coronavirus is concerned, so, well, we're spiking again here in Florida. Yeah, but that's kind of bullshit. So I get it. Yes, of course we're going to spike.
People are out talking and... Right, people are mixing around again. Right, because people are living their lives. And you can get tested anywhere now.
Right, it's got to happen. So, however, we don't have 18 wheelers of body bags sitting out in front of hospitals, right? Right, right. Hospitals are overrun.
All the temporary hospitals have been taken down. Right, if you get sick, you can... And maybe hospital ships are gone. You can go to a hospital and you can get treated, right?
Right. Okay. Like, let's, I mean, I want my Slurpee, goddammit. Well, you just have to join the rewards program.
No. See, that's what I mean. So, the only-- Listen, I got the CVS fucking rewards, I got the Walgreens, the ABC Liquor. You got your keys with the little things all over them.
Yeah, like, I'm not, I don't carry any of them. I'm not about to sign up for seven. No, I don't join any clubs. Goddammit.
Any things. But the only problem could be with the amount of people in the store. I mean, you could still get a slurpee. Right.
It's just the crowds. We're not too busy here. Too many people. Put some tape on the ground.
It's too many. Six feet is out. Too many free slurpees. I think it's a problem.
We're cutting back. Cutting back. Still get it. Give us your email and your phone number.
Respect the pandemic. Obviously, do what you can to take precautions. But you still got to live your life. And the fact of the matter is that I don't think it's, you know, of course people are going to die.
Most people are going to die and that's sad and that sucks, but it's terrible. I'd be sad if you died. I don't know. Yeah, I'd be sad too.
If you died? Yeah. Yes. I was hoping maybe you would say you'd be sad if I died.
Nah. Nah, you'd move on. Hire another monkey to sit here and push the buttons. I didn't want to replace you with.
Chet. Chet, whoa. Woo! I've changed the dynamic of this tremendously.
What, wouldn't it? He'd be very excited. All right. The Bold and the Beautiful.
Do you watch Bold and Beautiful? I do not. Does your wife watch The Bold and Beautiful? Maybe.
My wife does not. I know that there's two that she watches. I know General Hospital for sure, and then there's other one. Oh, I think it's Days of Our Lives.
I've heard the wives talking about Days of Our Lives. Maybe. Yeah. So she's played one of the, I think it's Days of Our Lives.
Yes. Later on in the day, and they've incorporated this music, this eerie music that plays in the background. Days of Our Lives? Yeah.
Like, what in the fuck is going on here? You want eerie music. What do you hear of The Bold and Beautiful? Let's see.
They're stepping it up. They're employing blow-up dolls for love scenes. The head writer for the CBS soap opera. That's amazing.
The Bold and Beautiful said the show will be using a blow-up doll as a stand-in for love scenes amid the corona pandemic. I can't wait. The show is returning to filming this month after shutting down amid the coronavirus outbreak in March. Bradley Bell, the soap's head writer and executive producer, said measures are being taken to keep the cast and crew safe while making new episodes.
You can't have a soap opera without a love scene. So they're going to be six feet away the whole time? Except for the blow up doll. When we were viewing the scripts, we started talking about all the romantic scenes and the scripts just fell flat.
They took them all out. They just, it was just all reveals of cousins and evil twins. You know what, I can just picture the person editing out, editing the fucking- Well, they were going through the script and they were like, okay, take out all the love scenes. Right.
Like, oh, this doesn't work. The show's 10 minutes long now. What do we do? All right, so, hey, let's throw in this blow up doll.
Well, they put their heads together to figure out a way to make the scenes work. It's eight foot, evidently, in California, the eight foot distancing rule, and we brought out a doll we used years ago as a corpse, so apparently they use this doll on a regular basis as a corpse, they change the wig and the makeup to make it look like the different women in the show, we posted it and it was very convincing, it's a great doll, and we'll be using her with hair and makeup as stand-ins to match some of the leading ladies, so then the guys have to make out with the doll. That is amazing. I can't wait.
I can't wait to see that. He said the show currently has only the one blow-up doll, so they gotta wipe it down, I guess. It's gonna be detoxed. A lot of cleaning.
Sanitize, sanitize, sanitize. It's gonna be stuck in an ultraviolet room. "Producers might look into obtaining more artificial actors if the shots turn out well. We're going to see how it works," he said.
" I'm gonna tell you how it works. The person's gonna be editing the film, be looking at this and saying, "What the fuck have I done with my life? " We're searching websites in Coming Hollywood to see what's available, so we may be employing a lot of dolls in future love scenes. You know, pretty soon the show's going to be all stop motion.
You know, my kids watch the YouTube shit with the action figures where they, you know, the stop motion stuff. Yeah, the stop motion stuff. Where you see the hand, no, no, it's not on that level. Oh, they're just, it's like, ah, you know, I'll get you, Spider-Man, and like, you know, people, yeah.
We should change, we should do one episode where that's all we do. That'd be great. We need action figures. Or we just, we have stand-ins right here, and then we're talking.
Right, we'll talk under the, we'll sit under the table. It's safer if we're further away from each other, so we just... Oh, that's funny. oh, wait, there's another choice, another option.
So maybe employing a lot of dolls' future live scenes. Bell said the production team is also looking at other measures, including using the real life spouses of actors as stand-ins for kissing and other intimate shots. So you know what I've gotten out of both of these news reports from you? What?
That there's nothing going on in the cigar industry. No, no, there is. I'm breaking up the show into different categories of news. So this is just pointless funny news.
Entertaining. Entertaining, yes. I see where you're going. Yes, okay.
I like how it's evolving. Oh, yes. It's always evolving. Show's gotta grow, Michael, to keep going.
Yeah. It's gotta grow. I think next week you're right. We should have some dolls.
I think we should have something. Yeah, we'll zoom in and just do those figures. I have to go and buy action figures this week. Perfect.
Let's see. A package containing 32 bags of marijuana was delivered to the wrong home in Texas. Oh. Authorities in Texas were called to a family's home when they received an unexpected package containing 32 bags of marijuana.
How'd you fuck that up? Why do you call the police? Yeah. The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the deputies were called to a Houston home after the residents reported receiving a package they hadn't ordered that was filled with cannabis.
Did it say Amazon on it? No, I don't believe it. Because that would have been amazing. But the Harris County Sheriff has released a statement.
If it is yours, please contact us if we would like to talk to you. Sure. Yeah, let me get right on that. So I'm trying to decide if we have time.
We have time for another story. I hope this is recording right now. It is. On to cigar news.
Oh, we might want to say that we are running off a battery on the camera today because we have a little technical problem with the cord, so if it goes off suddenly, we'll be right back. We're a fine-tuned machine here with Cigar Hustles Podcast. Hey, I have a backup thing. I have a backup thing.
The Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival was canceled for 2020. Yes, we know that. Did we talk about that last week? I think so.
I don't think we did. I think they're all canceled. Let's just assume moving forward that 2020 is canceled. Everything's canceled?
2020 is canceled. 2020 is canceled. With the exception of Weasel Fest. Yes.
Which is going on. Okay, let's talk about that and we'll just skip this story then. Because when we come back, I have another Robocraft story. Okay.
So people have been asking if we are going. The show is going to Weasel Fest. Are we going, Mike? I don't know.
Are we going, Mike? We're fucking going, Mike. Did you make up? You made nice, nice now?
It didn't matter if we were making up. Yes, but it would have been awkward before. I'm okay with it being awkward. That doesn't bother me.
Well, we should go ahead and book our tickets while all the airfare is so low. We should book our, we need to book our tickets. Yes, and hotels are going fast. Oh, I'm just staying at somebody's house.
Oh. No, I'm just kidding. Go book a room. I'm not saying.
Then I've got to find my own place. I hear Danny's got a lot of romance at Danny's house. I'm going to stay at Danny's house. Yeah.
Oh, I don't think a lot of stuff. That's a great idea. I don't think, I don't think we're allowed at Danny's house. Yeah.
No, I mean, yeah. I have a better chance at Skip's house. No, Skip's got a nice house. and yeah but like here's oh I can stay with lightweight heavy the problem is that there's so many people going in at that time oh he doesn't want people to come into his house no even if there is or there isn't you know it's just like it's probably better that you just we don't even encroach no no no you know what I mean no that would be too much on a normal circumstance do I have to wear a mask you wear some masks I'm not wearing a mask no I'm just telling you right that's not happening I don't know is that required it's a requirement at my gym and you don't do it I wore it in Yes.
And it lasted 10 seconds, and I was like, okay, like, you don't have to wear it when you're working out, but even when I was done working out- So always wear it in and out? But even, yeah, even when I was done working out, I'm like- I just breathed all over everybody. I don't know where the mask is. Rubber gloves?
Like, it's in my bag somewhere. We went to, uh, okay, we'll talk about this. We went to a baby shower this weekend. Mm-hmm.
And, uh- Zach's. Yes, yes, one of the young ladies, his sister actually, had a mask and gloves on when we arrived. If she feels comfortable doing it, then, you know, do it. Yeah.
Like, I'll still do it going out in public. The gloves came off at a certain point. I'm just not doing it. The mask for photos came off, obviously, for the photos, because you can't see, she's a very pretty girl, you can't see her, you don't wear the mask on, but they did a game where I had to wear a blindfold, and she really didn't want to put the blindfold on her face, but her mother made her put the blindfold on.
Well, that's fucked up. Yeah. Put it on. Just put it on, people are like, goddammit.
All right. But like, I mean, you know, if you feel comfortable, like I'll, obviously at Costco, you gotta wear the mask, but like, you know, if I go to Home Depot and shit, I would say 80% of the time I wear the mask. We don't. We've talked about putting them back on again because things are starting to get weird again, but ultimately we don't.
We did just get two lovely new masks today, though. But just how weird are they getting? How weird is it getting? Like, I understand what the media says, but like...
Because before the spike, let's just say, the masks could start fading away at the local places, at Publix, at Home Depot, at Target, all this stuff and now it's sort of mask you're on the uptick they're coming back but now i mean now they're saying that mask that has a little vent in it it doesn't right that lets you air out right not in so i mean the whole idea so now is the mask wearing if i wear a mask am i protecting myself from you or am i protecting you from me who knows at this point yeah at this point it's just a toss-up so and is there a systematic people they're not a systematic people they're Asymptomatic? Oh, whatever. They're not-- Asystematic? Asystematic.
Hydromatic? Here's Green Lightning! They don't, they-- Grease Lightning? Yes.
That's what I said, Grease Lightning. You said Green Lightning. I meant Green Arrow. Oh, man, he's about to have a stroke.
Right now. Better take a break before I have a stroke. All right, we'll be right back. Bye.

One more time. One more time. Oh, I remember I was going to ask you. Yes, tell me.
Right now, we already started the show. All right, Romacraft, with the COVID-19 pandemic leading to the cancellation of the 2020 Premium Cigar Association PCA trade show, it has led to many cigar companies coming up with creative ways to interact with its customers and retailers. This week, Romacraft Tobacco unveiled a program to deliver a virtual trade show program to its current and future retailers. Yeah.
From July 1st to the 14th, 2020, RoMa Craft Tobac will host appointments for its retailers to attend a private 15 to 30 minute session on Zoom. Each retailer will have the ability to discuss its account with RoMa Craft Tobac. In addition, retailers who are not RoMa Craft Tobac customers will have the ability to open up a new account. The company will also be taking orders for its Bakken line, and the virtual appointments will be the only way to order offerings in this line.
We need to do one just so we can videotape and put it on the show. That was kind of my silent protest, I wasn't going to take, I wasn't going to do it. Well, we'll do it with Sean. We'll just shoot the shit for 30 minutes with Sean.
Can you arrange for us to do a Zoom with Sean? Yeah, what are the dates? The 1st through the 14th of July. It's two weeks.
Two week window. So July 1st, I'll FaceTime Sean. Well, you got a Zoom so we can record it. Okay.
All right. We'll Zoom him in. Zoom. Okay.
Good. Mr. Lightweight Heavy. I'm still paying for that damn monthly subscription.
I haven't used it. Yeah, I know. I haven't used it again since the pandemic has come down. Kind of settled.
But it hasn't. But I don't know. It's hard to keep track. It's hard to keep track.
All right. Southern Draw Cigars cancels all their in-person events for the remainder of 2020. We are deeply saddened to announce that Southern Draw Cigars cancels its participation of the in-person events for the remainder of 2020. I believe he's living in an RV now, it looks like, when he does do the occasional video.
Oh. Do you think his wife kicked him out or something? No, I think they're isolating themselves like in a desert somewhere. Oh my god.
In the thing. Robert. Following increased concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt that this was the safest way to proceed during such an unprecedented global crisis. It sounds like he needed a nice, happier vacation.
That's what it sounds like. Could be. However, we know it's the right decision based on the information we have today. Our concerns for the health and safety of our family, valued retail partners, distributors, brand representatives, and our loyal customers, many of whom we consider friends as priority number one, the ever-changing shelter-in-place, social distancing, and travel restriction orders by local, state, and national and global agencies have forced our hands, if not possible, to be effective plan, what, what, what, have forced our hands as it is not possible to effectively plan travel and event schedules with the rapid changing happenings across the country.
I mean, that's true. Meanwhile, Jack Tarano's in Austin, Texas. He's going everywhere. He just gets on a plane.
Zero fucks given from that guy. Right now, the most important thing that all of us can do is focus our attention on helping each other with the new challenges we all face. For our family, this includes adopting new methods of delivering quality handmade cigars at a fair price, while increasing awareness and providing quantifiable contributions to our select charities. Please note that we remain committed to finding other ways to share Southern Draw cigars with you through virtual her social media platforms, conference calls, and the interaction with our favorite cigar community forums.
Yay. Southern Draw will engage the media members, those that have a history of support with our brands. Is that us? No.
Ah, damn it. And we will share several new product launches and some exciting collaborations that we'll still plan to release in the second half of 2020. If you are one of our valued retail partners? Nope.
Nope. Distributors? Sadly. com with your request and time.
Such a nice guy. He really is. He is. He's a very nice man.
Sweet man. He is very sweet. Very nice. I wish him the best and I hope that he stays safe in the coronavirus.
Yes. See, our family members hope and pray for breakthrough in the treatment and/or vaccination or a highly effective form of prevention Well, we've had a breakthrough. Whether it may be deemed safe for us to come. Well, it's just this week.
They thought they had a breakthrough months ago with the quinine. No, they had a breakthrough last week. The dexamethosaline or some shit. Yeah, well, you could have drank Clorox the week before that.
They've statistically proven it at this point. They statistically proved the malaria drug, too. And then people started dying from that. Well, that guy drank fish shit.
I mean, what the fuck was he thinking? Come on. Come on. Which for Southern Draw Cigars means living on the road and visiting as many of our brothers and sisters as possible.
The media is responsible for killing that guy. I blame all of them. Cigar media, not us. We're entertainment.
Not cigar media. Not cigar media. Everybody else. Everybody else.
Adena, Minnesota, was sued over their flavored tobacco ban. Ooh. Almost as soon. That's interesting.
It is interesting. I thought you'd like this. You call it Minnesota. As soon as, what, almost as soon as the Adena City Council had passed the ban on the sale of flavored tobacco products, it found itself in the receiving end of a complaint filed by four tobacco companies and a pair of retailers.
That's nice. S. J. J.
Reynolds Vapor Company, the big boys, American Snuff Company. That's not, they don't kill people, that's the stuff you've been putting in your nose. Santa Fe, Natural Tobacco Company, the camera just went off, we'll be right back again. It is similar to another lawsuit filed against Los Angeles County, which passed a ban on the sale of flavored tobacco products in October 2019.
S. Food and Drug Administration to regulate tobacco products, prohibits state and local governments from enacting, And standards laws that either differ from or from a bunch of legal mumbo-jumbo. All right, so they're being sued. Yeah, both complaints seek relief in the form of ordinances being declared invalid and unenforceable as well as requested that the court both preliminary and permanently issue an injunction that prevents the ban from being implemented and forced.
Boom. So if this happens, all the rest of them, I would imagine, go away too. Maybe. There's a lot of other local municipalities.
Well, if you're going to attack a state, you might as well attack Minnesota. It's very cold there soon. Everybody will be inside, and it'll be over. We're not coming out to fight this.
It's really cold. I looked into moving there. They plug in their cars in the wintertime. I'm sorry.
Do you need to answer the text message? No, no. I'm good. Are we bothering you?
Are you busy man over there? Oh, so busy. Maybe some would say super busy. Oh, calm down.
Calm down. All right. Now on to Florida news. News about the great state of Florida, Michael.
One of Florida's most well-known cheers at sporting events will be discontinued in an effort to become part of the positive change against racism. University President Ken Fooch announced in a letter to the University of Florida community on Thursday the famous Gator Bait chant will no longer be performed by the Gator Band or anyone associated with the University Athletic Association. Okay, I just don't know how that's racist. Can you tell me?
So, yes, if the rest of the story doesn't explain it, I will explain to you what it is. I appreciate that. " Okay. Yeah, we do the chomp.
I don't want to do it if it's racist. Racists don't do it. That's right. While I know of no evidence of racism associated with our Gatorbait Chair at University of Florida Sporting Events, there's a horrific history, racist imagery associated with the phrase.
According, University Athletics and the Gatorbait will discontinue the use of the Gatorband, will discontinue the use of the chair. The chair was frequently been used after a quick band intro followed by fans chomping twice in their arms and cheering Gator Bait. This continuum of its use is just one of several steps announced the university will take to address racism. Let's see, the chairman guy outlined three major areas focused on change: education, research, and community engagement.
So how's the reason? Okay, the Gator Bait term, from what I understand, they used to use African-American babies as Gator Bait. Oh, that's terrible. So, they couldn't change it like the Gator Chomp?
I guess they could, but it's still associated with the original-- It would still be tied to that? It would still be tied. Alright, well, hey, if it's gotta go, it's gotta go. It's gotta go.
It's gotta go. Oh, things are going. Taking the guns from Elmer Flood and Yosemite Sanford. I mean, that was not-- I mean, that's just-- I don't even know what the fuck happened there.
Like, I don't-- they slid that in, you know, whatever. Who complained? I don't know. I just know that my seven-year-old will fuckin' pwn noobs all day on Call of Duty, so...
Oh, there you go. So, no Elmer Fudd for him, though. Or Yosemite Sam. Ah, damn it.
It's just the way it works, though. It's tragic. You know, I miss Bugs Bunny. Bugs Bunny's still okay, as of right now.
Yeah, but, like, you don't see him as much. Oh, you know what? Sometimes he dresses up like a woman. Is he, uh, now he can't do that because he's making fun of cross-dressing?
Let me tell you something, that bunny, he was a crafty motherfucker. " I have a favorite story about Bugs Bunny, would you like to hear the favorite story? I would love to hear it. Okay, you know who did the voice of Bugs Bunny?
No. Mel Blank. Oh, yeah, yeah, I met him. Yeah, yeah.
You met Mel? I did. That's not the guy from Spider-Man, just so you know. No, no, no, back in the day.
Oh. A long time ago. Well, at one point, I believe it was a car accident. No, I didn't meet him.
I met Hannah and Barbera. Oh, not the same. I feel like it's the same. All of my childhood cartoons and everything, he was majority of the voices.
But he, for one reason or another, went into a coma. Recently? No, no, he's dead. He's dead.
At some point in his life, he went into a coma. From the coronavirus? No, just a regular coma. Just a standard?
Standard. He was an auto accident or a head injury. Do you think we can link it to coronavirus now? Probably.
Okay, good. Probably. All right, so he died from corona. No, he didn't die in the coma.
Oh, okay. He was in the coma. It was a long time, a long time in the coma. People were coming in and talking to him.
And the way they got him to wake up is somebody from the cartoon company or whatever, was it Warner Brothers, Warner Brothers, Looney Tunes, came in and asked to talk to Bugs Bunny, and he responded in Bugs Bunny's voice, and that's what woke him up. What's up, Doc? Yeah. Exactly.
That's kind of cool. That's amazing. That's how they reached him, through Bugs Bunny. So you're saying we can solve the coronavirus through Bugs Bunny.
Yes. That's exactly what I'm glad. That's where the point was going. Exactly.
Thank you for connecting all those dots for me and explaining that, yes, it's carrots. Just have to chew carrots and let it fall out of your mouth as you're chewing them. You know, that Bugs, he could handle anything. Or maybe it's duck season.
You're supposed to say rabbit season. Hunting a rabbit? You're supposed to say rabbit season. Rabbit season?
No, duck season. That's a famous actor. You don't understand? No.
Do you understand how hard that scene was? No. He does the voice of both those characters. Ah.
So, he had to do Bugs Bunny as Daffy Duck. You're quite the fan. And he had to do Daffy Duck as Bugs Bunny. Very complicated.
Very hard to do, from what I understand. Yeah. You have to do a voice that impersonates one of your other voices. Mm-hmm.
Very hard to do. That's great. Okay, anyway. All Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Nights canceled at 2021.
I don't understand that either. Well, Disney World has announced that all the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Nights in 2020 are canceled. Disney has released the following statement, well, okay, here's the things that they did for that. They do a fireworks thing, and they do a special parade.
Which, okay. Okay, well, there's no parades, and there's no fireworks shows. Yeah, but you still get to go in late and stuff, and like, you know, you do trick-or-treating. They don't want you there.
No trick-or-treating. Then you have to touch things that you're giving people. None of that either. Disney has released the following statement regarding the cancellation announcement, which also include Disney's H2O Glow Nights for the remainder of the year.
But you could do, like, at specific candy stops, you could do, like, hand sanitizer. Little hand sanitizer packs? N-E5 masks. Wet wipes.
Wet wipes, gloves. Gloves. Oh, yes, nice. The kids would love that.
While assessing other fall special events, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, we determined that many of its hallmarks, stage shows, parades, and fireworks are unable to take place in this new, unprecedented environment. With that in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Additionally, Disney's H20 Glow Nights, the nighttime special tickets event at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, will not take place for the remainder of 2020. Guests who have already bought the tickets for these events will be assisted with refunds over the next coming weeks.
If Universal cancels Halloween Horror Nights, I'm gonna ride myself. I bet you. I'm gonna be very upset. I bet you it does.
No. No, they won't. Yeah, they won't. Come on!
Don't say that! Well, they might change. There's no touching. No one touches anything.
Nobody touches anybody. Yeah. But they might have to go from makeup to mask. It's going to be all medical-themed, maybe.
Ooh. Everybody wears an N95. Exciting. That would be nice.
Yeah. They destroyed my Mardi Gras. I mean, the concerts this year sucked anyway, so I wasn't excited about it. Oh.
But, you know. Is that included with your— Yes. Well, you have, like, the presidential pass thing, don't you? It's amazing.
Wow. Look at you. I love my universal past. All right, we got to talk faster because we don't know how much time we have on this other battery.
Oh my God, the clock is ticking. All right, massive Sahara dust plumes headed this up. No extra added scenes today, huh, Mike? Well, we do have one more battery.
But no, I didn't get the numbers I was hoping for. Someone suggested that we should release the video before the audio. Well, the problem is that you release it afterwards, yeah. Well, but the problem is most of the downloads we get is from Podbean, so I don't think if we were to do the video without the audio.
You'd have to release the video at the same time, but that's difficult. It's difficult. It's just too much. It's fine.
It's okay. We can have our 20 viewers. Oh, well, we did go up to 38 last time. There you go, so we're crushing it.
It did go up some. We have 189 subscribers, but evidently they don't all. They all listen. They all don't watch.
I mean, 189 on YouTube. Yeah. Oh, Mr. Skip Martin, he did go to watch it.
He's a subscriber now. Yeah, he's a subscriber. But they listen on the Podbean, so they don't watch YouTube. Yes.
Oh, you wouldn't believe all the places we actually go. I looked today. There's like 17, 18 places we've never even heard of before you can find the show. Oh, the places you'll go.
Yes. Anyway, watch out for a speck of dust in the air next week. A huge Sahara dust cloud... That's all harsh shit.
That's bullshit. hits Florida on Monday, and we'll bring the... You don't? Yes, I'm not reading that?
No, go ahead. You're just pooping my story. You keep going. You keep going.
Tell me about the dust. This event will be strong enough to block storms from reaching the area. The dust storm from the Sahara Desert in Africa is making its way to the Sahara Desert. He's making his way to the Sunshine State.
So we're going to have nice sunsets. That's all that means. Maybe it's the dust storm from the Mummy movie with the guy's giant head. Oh, with the soul?
Yeah, maybe it's that one. That's at Universal as well. This translates to a week of little development of tropical activity in the Atlantic. Which is great!
Yes, okay, maybe it'll block for this Friday, because what's this Friday, Michael? Oh, this Friday is our Espinosa. Oh, Erik Espinosa is going to be here at the shop? Yeah.
Jack Taranio era. We're going to have a tournament of champions. It's going to be, what are we doing? Cornhole?
Cornhole. Corn eating? I love corn. Cornhole.
And we're giving away a smoker. Jack Taranio? Yeah. Oh, not that kind of smoker.
You know, what's really kind of funny is Skip's looking at this atrociously expensive fucking smoker. Yes, I saw that, I saw that. Should I buy this? I'm like, fuck you.
So you went and bought one. So I click on it, I look at it, now it's on my Facebook feed, everywhere I go, it stocks me. Oh, it doesn't, I know. " I'm like, ha.
My wife was talking about getting a paddleboard, 'cause they go out and rent paddleboards in New Smyrna. Oh, now my things, I Googled it one time. All paddleboards. All paddleboards.
Paddleboards. The kind you can inflate, the kind that comes in pieces, the kind that you can snap together. At least it's not a $10,000 smoker that you're never gonna buy. You may go paddleboarding.
I'm going to be very busy smoking things. You stand a good chance of paddleboarding. I do not stand a good chance of buying an expensive smoker. $10,000 smoker?
Yes, it's not good. Was it your last smoker downstairs now here? No, I still have it. I have it at my house.
I bring it here for smoking. Oh, gotcha. I love it. It was like $300.
It's amazing. Yes. Okay. Do you have a listener of the week for us?
There's a dust cloud. No, that's in the dust cloud. You poo-pooed the dust cloud. Because of the dust cloud, we were having less activity than the hurricanes.
No, you don't, you don't, you don't, whatever. A listener of the week. Okay, well I have a show update if I could do that while you're trying to find us a listener of the week. Because you asked me last week if I had one and I did, so I thought perhaps you might have had one.
Oh no, I mean... Okay, no listener of the week this week. Our world domination is slowly coming to be, Michael. We have listeners all over the North and South America, just about all of Europe and Asia.
We still have holes in Africa, I don't think we're ever going to, I don't think there's Wi-Fi in Central Africa, but we have no listeners in Northern Territory in Australia. Oh, that's where we need Dave Burke's help. Well, I've reached out to the Sydney Cigar House to see if they would listen to an episode, of course, it's nighttime there, so we'll see what happens tomorrow, if they listen or not, but if so, we will talk about them next week. The beautiful thing is they can listen to it whenever they want.
Yes, they can. On Podbean, we're still number one by a great margin. Oh, significant. Sorry, Cigars, Loretty.
On Player FM, we are number two behind Cigar Authority. Okay. And we are listed on the best cigar podcast of 2020. No.
We are number 15. Wow. Yes, yes. And then on Stitcher.
Hey, I don't even know what that means. I'm not sure either, but I Googled the podcast by name, came up with all this stuff. That's amazing. It's kind of cool.
I'm excited. On Stitcher, which is a podcast writer. It's just a matter of time before we make some money. I feel we are right there.
It's right there. It took over two years. Maybe. It might take three, but we're getting there.
Well, three years is up in January. We did get the manscaping thing. Yes, that was legit. That was true.
True. That was legit. Oh, you didn't buy those? That was real.
No, I didn't buy those. That was legit. Okay, now, the other thing, okay, maybe. But now I feel if I did anything, you would just poo-poo on it.
Betrayal. You would just poo-poo on it. Okay. And then Listener of the Week?
We don't have one. No, I mean, to be honest, I think the Listener of the Week, I think we've done him before, but I'd like to acknowledge Jason Wolpert again. Oh, okay. Yes, his father just passed.
Jason and for Mr. Welpert Sr. Just want him to know that we're thinking about him. Yes.
And it's tough. That's always hard. It is tough. So our thoughts and our prayers are with you, Jason.
Yes. And if you need anything, we're here for you. Call Greg. Don't call Greg.
Don't call Greg. He's super busy. And he has zero emotion. That is true.
He doesn't have much emotion. He's not in here this week. I had a lot of Greg jokes. " Did he come over for Father's Day?
No, he started to get soft. I'm like, "Oh, man, I'm just trying to fuck with you, man. " Wow, look at that. Yeah.
Did he get a Father's Day from... He said he did. " Stepfather? You know, it...
My stepchildren... Just like Adam Pruitt said. It's gonna be a nice text. Anybody can be, can, can birth a child.
Right. And anybody, you know, can donate the semen, but it takes a real man to be a father. Okay. So...
Donate. I don't consider it a donation. Yeah. Yeah.
Exactly. Donate. Just donate. Alright.
Um... We got anything going on between now and next week? No. Oh, well, uh, next week's show, because we're gonna do it Friday, we're gonna have Eric Espinosa.
Yeah, that's gonna be interesting, because my son, he's got a football game on Friday. Oh, there's a problem. And yeah, so... So you're not going to be here for the event?
I'll be here for the event, but I think that it starts at like five. So that will be right as the event starts. Yeah, so I don't know how that's going to play out. So Erik will not be on the show.
Here's the reality, the reality is... Can he come a day early? That my son's football game is more important to me than anything. No, no, I completely understand.
Hey, maybe me, Jack, and Erik will come to the football game. Ooh, or maybe you'd do one without me. Well, that doesn't sound like any fun for me at all. No, okay.
We get Chet in. Let's do Chet. We'll have Chet as a guest star. I'll put them over here and we'll put them over there.
Yeah. Oh. He'll have lots of questions. Oh, he would love that.
Oh, he would love that. He would. Let's see if we can do that. We'll see if we can set that up.
I can't confirm it. Oh, it's like when Johnny Carson had somebody sit in for him. Yeah. Do you know some stars would wait and come in when the different hosts were on it because they didn't like Johnny?
No kidding. Yes. You're just filled with old information. All sorts of information rattling around in here that come out at the… That's from the '60s.
It's not from the '60s. Okay. Mel Blanc and fucking Johnny Carson. Good for you.
Do you know who Ruth Buzzi is? No idea. Oh. Gene Wilder?
Of course I know. It was his wife! Actually, it wasn't his wife. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Yes, we had that conversation before. The Gene Wilder one, not the pirate guy. Exactly. Yeah.
So yeah, well, hey, let's get this, let's taper this one off so we can get this Patreon going. Before the bat, oh, shit, I forgot we gotta do another show. We're gonna smash them out now, and I think it works out well that way. For you, I'm exhausted the rest of the week.
This emotionally drains me. I love that. I love that I take that from you. Alright, I guess this is it because we got to do another show.
Alright guys, thank you very much for episode 127! Woohoo! Promise better show next week with a cord. This is a great show.
Bye. We invite you to write the show's host, Mike Szczevankevic, with any feedback or suggestions that you have for their shows. These broadcasts are presented and made public as entertainment in the hope that they will be entertaining to the audience. This has been a Cigar Hustlers Podcast, a Mike and Mike production.
Be sure to listen every Tuesday at 10am for all new episodes. Hi, I'm doing, I'm Husto E-Raw. Yeah, we just don't have to do a single, uh, single podcast ever again. Perfect.
I'm good, Mike and Mike, how are you guys doing? The Hojo, the... Hojo! It's the Hojo!
You didn't even let him fuck it up all the way. I couldn't get past Hojo! I don't even have to try it. He's not even going to try.
We're going to cover a lot of ground here, Mike. All right. Try to keep up. That's a sign of a good podcast.
It could be like four cigars when I walked in the door. All right, end this.
