Episode 129 Yo Adrienne! A PPP for the PCA? American didn't make the List?

Episode 129 Yo Adrienne! A PPP for the PCA? American didn't make the List?

Episode Summary

Mike Palmer and Mike Stefankevich open Episode 129 of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast with shop-studio banter — a botched remodel, adhesive falling off the walls, mic-mixing woes from the previous four-person episode, and a teaser that the Patreon bonus show will review the Aganorsa Leaf Supreme Leaf Toro, with box-press weight comparisons against a Padrón Toro and a Guaymaro from Esteban Dizla. There's also an extended riff on Mike's ever-evolving health regimen: intermittent fasting, no-carb stretches, cold plunges and cold showers giving way to a zip-in home sauna he bought off Amazon.

The heart of the episode is the 22 push-ups for 22 days veteran suicide awareness challenge (22Kill). Palmer was called out by Scott Weeks of Recluse Cigars, and the two hosts have turned it into an escalating one-upmanship contest — push-ups in the rain, with masks, with kids on their backs, in lion onesies and muscle suits. They track who in the cigar industry is participating (Jeff Gruber, Erik Espinosa, Juan Cancel, John Kearney of La Flor Dominicana) and who has quietly ducked it.

The news block is the meat for industry watchers. The PCA announced it will furlough its entire staff — including executive director Scott Pearson — beginning July 15, after failing to qualify for PPP relief, with board president John Anderson pledging the 2021 trade show remains on schedule. The hosts debate whether this is the beginning of the end for the association, where its revenue actually comes from, and whether TPE 2021 is safe. They also cover the roof collapse at Cuba's old Partagás factory in Havana and the closure of its La Casa del Habano, plus the U.S. being left off the EU's 15-country reopened-travel list and Miami-Dade's rollback of restaurant and gym reopenings.

Rounding out the show: Todd Vance's winding brand-rep career (La Familia Robaina, A.J. Fernandez, Cornelius & Anthony, White Hat with Spencer Drake, Padilla) lands him at Stallone Cigars as North American VP of Sales — a Tony Barrios brand with no connection to Sylvester Stallone and an undisclosed Nicaraguan factory. They also note Nike's $790 million quarterly loss and layoffs, name Instagram listener Jason (EL_WAPLIN) Listener of the Week, tease an upcoming Voyage cigar review courtesy of Mickey Carroll, and remember Gene Tipton of Sindicato Cigars, who died of cancer.

Transcript

Hey, this is Mike Two, welcome to the number one rated cigar podcast on Podbean, this is episode 129, this week, yo Adrian, hey, can I get a PPP for the PCA? And great, now America is not on the list either. All this and more on episode 129, a cigar hustler. All right, welcome to episode 129.

Yes. The Cigar Hustler Podcast. Uh-huh. First thing, Michael, we should address the redecorating.

Yes. It's not completely done yet. I'm not satisfied with this. Never satisfied.

Never satisfied with that. Never satisfied. As you can see, the adhesive that I'm using for the pads is not working. It's not as good as you thought it would be.

I'm trying to avoid the industrial strength stuff we had before, which does not come off the walls, apparently. Because the painter complained. Yes, the painter complained that they could not get the adhesive off the wall. And the painter was not happy.

Oh, and the one's coming off over there again, too. Look, it's off in one corner. But it doesn't show up on the camera, so that's not as important as this. It's a work in progress, Mike.

So if this starts blinking off during the show, that would be good. Boop, clink, bloop, clink, blink, blinky, blinky, blinky, blinky, blinky. Okay. Your strong suit's in production, not in, you know, the building.

I'm not the decorating, no, it's too many hats. Too many hats I am forced to wear for this show. Too many sacrifices you have to make. I was in here yesterday.

Yeah? When you tried to throw me under the bus for some mistake out in the shop. Something that wasn't labeled. Oh, yeah.

You said, oh, Palmer did it. Yeah, because you want your suspension, you want a week's suspension. That's why I was trying to help you. Oh, you're trying to suspend me?

Yeah. Damn it. Yeah. I fought back.

I didn't realize. Oh, fuck you. I'm like, wait a second. Fuck you.

I'm right here. I'll do it now. Wow. I was like, oh, okay.

All right. So. I didn't understand what you were saying. I didn't understand what you were saying either.

But I left right after that. So. And I took the cigars with me. And I left and smoked them all.

They're very small. Gone. And there was no labels. No labels.

So they were free. What are you? Are you not smoking? I just finished a cigar, and since we do the Patreon immediately after this one, I didn't light another one up.

Ew. Because, you know. I'm going to have this in temperance BA. That's kind of a strong cigar to go into a review.

We'll see if it affects me. Oh, we got to weigh the review. We do have to weigh the review. And it's a box press, so it's going to be lighter.

Oh, so we should grab some box presses. Mmm, a box press comparison. Indeed. We are going to just a little teaser for the Patreon, we're going to review the Agonosa, because there's no R, so it's Agonosa, Agonorsa, not in the, it's A-G, not A-R-G, no, it's not Argonosa, it's Agonorsa, Supreme Leaf, Supreme, the new one, the new one, the Toro, the Toro, we know, oh wait, we have weights for Toros, is the box press going to be significantly different?

Yes, yes, it will be different. So we have to weigh box press Toros. We will have to weigh other box press Toros. Oh, for these kids, Skip Martin Wayne process.

Maybe the Padrón Toro? Ooh. We'll compare it. Ooh.

Fancy. Uh-huh. Fancy. Who else is Toro?

Guaymaro. Guaymaro. Oh, and that's from you-know-who. You-know-who.

So. Esteban Dizla. That's right. One of those ones he rolls on his thighs, Skip massages his shoulders.

Very nice. I hope that sticks, I would like that rumor too. This sounds, the sounds is really good today now. You know, we had the four mics last week, and if you listen, you don't listen to the shows, do you?

I do, I honestly haven't listened to that. Okay, that one's a bear to listen to because it is so long, it's like an hour and 45 minutes almost-ish, so it's over an hour. It's like where everybody else at that point. But you can tell, first, the video is terrible because it's so smoky in here, you can't see a damn thing.

I love that. Yeah, I can't see a thing. I love that effect. The sound...

We can buy a dope filtration system. We have that. Okay. But it's loud.

Is the rabbit quiet? Ooh. I don't know. We need a quiet one.

How often do we have four people in there? It's true. It's true. It sounds ridiculous.

Yeah. But since we did that one, like, real quick, you were like, okay, wait, wait, let's just go ahead and do something real fast. So the sound is terrible for the first, actually, up to the break, up to the first break. And you can tell that I'm over here tweaking, you can see me on the video just turning knobs, moving levers, doing things.

But then the second half of the show actually would be the third half of the show because at first it was just me and you, and then we did it. Sounds great. I figured it out by the third segment. So two years later, we got it down pat.

Well, if I would have had time to fuck with it before the show, then it would have been fine all the way through. But when you add the other two mics, this one's not set up, that one's not set up, And I had to move them all around, so actually Jack had this one, so Jack sounded good, I sounded good, you and Eric didn't, but then it worked. What was funny is, oh you complained, I don't mean to interrupt, well I always interrupt, you complained this wasn't working, when I was redoing the wiring when we were doing the remodeling, that headset was not even plugged in. Really?

Yeah, it is now. Yeah, it makes sense. It wasn't even plugged in. You never use it, it's hanging under the table.

So what was funny was you were supposed to do that interview without me, it was going to be you and Chad. Well, as we had mentioned last week at the meeting, people are starting to show up for the events to take advantage of the happy hour. Right. So, it started getting busy here about 3 o'clock.

Right. So, when they showed up, there was 9, 10 people already here waiting. Yeah, half in the bag. I like it.

So, they walked in to things already running. So, and then Chet and I were out back setting up for the cornhole tournament. So, I mean, I was hot and sweaty. You just gotta take control, Mike.

It was too much. You just gotta silence. If you weren't here, because you had something more important to do, as usual. Yeah, my son's a football game.

You gotta silence the noise around you, Mike. You gotta silence the noise around you, and just take, and just grab life by the helm, and just do what you gotta do. That's all I'm saying, Mike. That's all I'm saying.

What is to your, move your mask. Your mask is in the shot. Or put it on. There you go.

Is that better? Yes, thank you. That looked like a little black bag. Anyway.

My purse. Now in the state of Florida, just about everywhere but the city of Deltona, you're required to wear a mask. It's a lawless swamp. It's a lawless swamp.

Now we're just Deltona. We do what we want. So we went out Saturday, one of our sons came up, Alex came up, and we went out Saturday to run some errands and to get some lunch. I guess.

It's okay. Thank you, Mike. So, you know, once you cross the bridge, you're into Massville, or whatever you want to call it. Yeah.

We ended up going to the Jell House in Sanford for his birthday. It was his, that's mine, you can give that back. Anyway, the young lady waiting at us, we couldn't see her face off because she had to wear a mask. Oh, it's like a restaurant, it's not a Jell House.

Yeah, no, no, no, Jell House is, the old Jell House in Sanford, they have turned into a high-end restaurant. Oh. It's very nice, we've been there quite a few times. But the, you know, he got carded.

Like a VIP, like the cells or something like that? They do, some of the cells are set up into rooms for large parties, yes. That's nice. Yeah.

But anyway, the young lady waiting on us, her first name was Cassidy. Oh. Alex's last name is Cassidy. Ah.

So there was a little banter there. Ah. And then she called me Mr. Cassidy, and we're like, oh, no, no.

He goes, no, no, that's my stepfather and my mother. His last name is Palmer. She goes, what? Her name was Cassidy Palmer.

Oh. What are the odds of that, huh? Very strange. It was.

So now she lives with you. And she's from, well, she's from Geneva. She knows Megan, who used to live with us. Ah.

So she started moving in yesterday. Could be, yeah. But that was- That's nice. It was funny.

It was very interesting and a very nice meal. Yeah. Lovely place. Yeah.

It's a little expensive, but it was his birthday. We'll have to go sometime. Me and you? Just me and you?

Oh, how romantic. Very romantic. Oh, we shouldn't go. I'll just take my wife.

Forget it. Oh, how rude. Let's talk about your workouts, Mike. I have that as the first thing to talk about.

Oh, workouts. Yes. I know you love talking about workouts. Okay.

But everybody has followed your workouts on this show. Really? We have always followed your workouts. Oh, so we have a timeline of...

Oh, no, no. I wish I would have gone to that. Oh, what a great idea that would be. But you mentioned something the other day that now you're doing saunas?

Yes. Oh, you wanted to slide that in. I wanted to slide that in. Yes!

So, okay, if we go over some of the things you have done on this workout thing that you have gone through here. You know, it's a constant, you're constantly learning, Mike, constantly getting better. Yes, but why did the other things become non-existent anymore? Well, like which ones?

Well, like intermittent fasting, sort of comes and goes. Okay, so... You did no carbs for a while. You know what?

Yeah, that was very stupid. I'm doing that now. I'm down a bell hole. That's good, but the problem is you can't sustain it.

Oh, I know. Gradually, because you fell off. But I'm doing Sundays, I can do whatever I want. That's excellent.

Right, so. It's more like, you kind of learn routines, right? But for a long period of time, you were very cold plunge. I was.

Cold plunge was a thing. Yeah, the cold plunge, the longer the cold plunge, the better the cold plunge. Yes. Cold plunge, cold plunge, cold plunge.

Cold showers, too. Cold showers and cold plunge. I still do cold showers, you know, the problem is... But now you're doing the opposite, you're doing heat.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, well, okay, all right, so look, you know, it's all kind of a learning... It's a little confusing. It's kind of a learning process, you know, and I think... But why is cold plunging no good no more?

I think that there's a lot of misinformation out there. It's not that cold plunges are bad, it's just that for me... It didn't work. It's just a time-consuming thing.

You know what? That is right in between me and the camera. What? This, this, this...

It's a good look for you. It gives me a bar across my face. You're trying to make it so you look good and I look bad. Oh, much better.

Much better. Now I feel like you're going to shoot me. Now it's like having a gun pointed at me. Boom.

Okay, so hey, listen. Yeah, sorry. Cold plunging. Cold plunging bad.

I don't think that the gold plunging is bad. Look, it's just that my workouts have become so long that I can't devote an additional 25 minutes after my workout. How long is the heat? The heat is at home.

You have a sauna at your house? Yeah, you know where this is going. Well, you said you were thinking about that. We've had this conversation, Mike.

Well, yes, that's, well, it's not. So, the heat is good. The heat is good because it, you know, gives you more blood flow, helps toxins. I thought the cold gave you more blood flow.

No, that's the opposite. Make sure your body's struggling. Look, at the end of the day, it's good to stress the body out, just not kill yourself. Right?

So, yeah. I thought the cold induced healing. Maybe. But I haven't been, you know.

But now it's heat. Now it's all hot. It's heat. Now the hotter the better.

Yeah. Are there hot showers? No, cold showers. Cold showers.

I mean, I'll do hot showers too. You're going to get sick whether it's hot and cold, hot and cold, hot and cold. I don't think so. I feel good.

So now we need your head on a lot of hot things. So I was looking at saunas. Yes. I wanted to get like a badass one, like a wooden one that you can put into your house.

I have a factory that makes those, by the way. Do you? Oh, yeah. We have a Kinect.

Well, I don't know if you can get just the one, but yeah. I'll take one. One, please. It'll cost you $5,000 in freight to ship it all.

I don't want all that. Right, right. Well, we'll buy five and we'll sell four of them. There you go, sell four.

We'll sell four of them. It comes disassembled. Yeah. Like Johnny Five.

Yeah, disassembled Johnny Five. No, disassembled. Yeah. Yeah.

And it's, I'm trying to think how big it is. It might be tight. If like you and I were to try to get it at the same time, we'd have to be very close. It's probably a two person.

Yeah. Very close. That was what I was looking at. Maybe hips touching, elbows touching, at least.

So I was looking at one of those, and they're kind of expensive. Don't you have a walk-in closet in your house? Put a heater in it, and it's dry heat. I don't think it works that way, Mike.

We're in Florida. Go outside. No, it doesn't get hot enough. Not hot enough?

It's 120 degrees this weekend. No, well, you actually need like 120 or 130 degrees. Hey, your pool, are you noticing an accumulation of sand from the Sahara things in the bottom of your pool? Have you cleaned your pool?

Uh, no. We have at the house. And even the counters in the kitchen coming through the air conditioner and stuff? Yeah.

They're feeling a little gritty. Really? Yeah. I recommend cleaning.

Well, we do clean, but we couldn't figure out how all the sand was getting in the pool. But that has to be what it is. It has to be blowing through and uh... It could be granules from your roof?

Oh. Well, it's brown. It's sand color. I think I have black things on the roof.

But it didn't happen before, just recently. Storms? I don't know. I told my wife it was the sand from the Sahara.

That's excellent. You know what? I lie to my wife all the time about crazy shit. How does the sand get people?

Sahara. Sahara. Sandstorms. But it's not like you're intentionally lying.

You just kind of get lost. That is plausible. I mean, it could be it. So I believed.

I had this reason to believe. I would always, every once in a while in the evenings, we'd hear like this, like it was a car or something. It's a drone from your neighbor. Driving by, right?

Yeah. And I was like, oh, I think that's a hoverboard, or a hovercraft, like the neighbors, some of the one of the neighbors has a hovercraft, and it's coming out like, and we could never see it, like, it only goes by once, like, that's what it's gotta be, it's gotta be a hovercraft. Is it a bug, bug car or something? It is, it's the mosquito car.

Mosquito guy. And, you know, so my neighbor, you know, let us know what that was. The neighbor you talked to? Yeah, the good one.

I felt really stupid about it. Or the neighbor that you accused him, you said you're having sex with his dead mother. No, that one I haven't. Not that one again?

No, not that one. Okay. But anyways, yeah, so the sauna didn't work out, I couldn't pull the trigger, it's just too expensive, and, you know, placement would have been difficult, however, I did find one in the corner of your patio. I did find one on Amazon.

Oh my lord. That you can zip into. Oh, it's inflatable! No, it's not inflatable, it's like it's got a frame and you just zip in and your head sticks out.

It's amazing. Oh, your head sticks out? Yeah. I like those cold things they used to do.

Yeah, it's amazing. Wow, so did you get one? I did. Photos.

Miss Brittany, I need photos, please. We've already had that conversation. I have already had that conversation. And I also...

Photos, Brittany, photos. No. Get them from the security cameras when he's not home. No photos.

But, super relaxing, dude. I highly recommend it. It's hot. I don't want to get anything to make me hotter.

It's amazing. It's amazing. You get all the toxins out of your body. Eh, I like a hot shower, but even then...

Let me give you an example. Like Sunday, when Sunday's your cheat day, you eat a lot of shit on Sunday. Right, yeah. Okay, so what happens is, you know, you're gonna blow it up as far as...

I had a triple-decker peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Fucking A, man. Have at it. So, but like, because of that, your body retains more water, right?

And that water's got shit in it. Oh, you know, I was very thirsty yesterday too, and I peed like four times last night during the night. Yeah, so now... I gotta figure out what was wrong.

See, this is why, this is why, you're welcome for the process of me learning and taking the time through all this. Yes, thank you. Thank you for helping me with my health and my push-ups, which we have to address next. So you can't do a lot of water as you taper off at the end of the night.

You have to do something with a little more electrolytes. That way, you're not peeing as much at night. So what more electrolytes, like a Gatorade or something? Yeah, or, you know, maybe mix it with some Pedialyte or something like that.

Oh, that stuff tastes like spit, I can't do Pedialyte. Okay, so then do some Gatorade. I'll do some Gatorade. Water it down if you want.

I have to get some Gatorade. The Pedialyte, it tastes like spit. It tastes like spit. It's got a weird consistency.

I don't know what happened in your life where you got the references. Open your mouth, Mike. No, no, that's not it. But I mean, obviously I have children, so we've had Pedialyte in the house, you know, so you taste it and you're like, oh, it's just too thick or something.

It's not water. It's not watery. Yeah. So, yeah, I got a sauna and, yeah, and stay away from water late at night for you.

You're an old man. I do drink because, I mean, I'm up to like four of these a day. There's probably four of these a day. Perfect.

That's how many you need. Yeah. A gallon a day. Right.

Dude, you're going to be a machine. 22 days. Well, I'm just going to keep going, but I've been looking up other challenges you can do. So there's 30 day challenges.

Oh, good. No, no. You don't challenge other people. It's just yourself.

Ah, okay. But I do like how everything sort of becomes a bit between us, no matter what it is. It's fun. It is fun.

We make it entertaining. But I don't even want to think that we are making light of the subject. No, not at all. No, but if by us being stupid, doing stuff back and forth makes more people...

Gives it more attention. Right. I mean, dude, I did push-ups in the rain with the whole, like, sentimental speech. There was nothing...

I wasn't joking around at all. No, no, I did like the... You know? Yeah.

Sometimes it just rains. Sometimes it rains. Sometimes it rains, and then, you know... You just gotta do what you gotta do.

I was not actually in the rain, though. I rigged up the hose. Oh, there you was. So I had the hose mounted on the fence and had to turn that on, so...

So to kind of let everybody know what's going on. Okay, so we're doing 22 pushups. For 22 days, yes. For veterans' awareness.

Suicide awareness, because 22 veterans a day kill themselves. Is it a day or a week? Yeah, it's a day. 22 veterans a day commit suicide on average, which is a terrible thing.

com, I believe? Yes, exactly what it is. And, yeah, so, you know, I was challenged by Scott Weeks of Recluse Cigars, right? And this is really kind of spread.

It's making its way through the industry. Oh, it is. It is making its way through the industry. That's what he's not keeping up with it, though.

No. Well, you know. I saw two from Spencer and I saw no more. That doesn't surprise me.

Groover's still doing it. Of course. Yes. And I haven't seen, maybe I'm not friends with Scott Weeksman, so I haven't seen him.

I'm not sure if I am or not. He's still fitting him in. Okay. But, what was I going to say?

So the, you know, it's, it's fun. Right. You know, and. Well, the first day you did them and you did them in your traditional weekend attire You can attire with the...

Realistically, I probably have, there are three things that I normally wear, right? Right, yeah, yeah. I wear my black V-neck t-shirts. Right.

I wear my black tank top. Right, with the white piping. Yeah. Which is at the, do they have the logo on it?

It has no logo. Oh, mine has a logo on it. I love the same one. And then I wear these polos, right?

Right. So, for me, I don't like to think about that shit at all. " So what I do is I actually buy like 20 of these things right I'm not kidding I have a fuck ton of the same tank top fuck ton of black v-necks I don't want to have I don't just don't want to think about what I what I need to wear right right and I just want it to be over with so I was in my traditional black tank top right with the hat you had my hat on because you know my hair was a mess but whatever and uh lo and lo and behold that was a day that was a day that was How was the day you tagged me? I challenged Mike Palmer day one, of course.

Right. And boom. Day one? I did the exact same amount.

So you mocked me. Yes, I mock you. So because you mocked me, I've been, you know, it keeps me on my toes, which I appreciate. Excellent.

So one day I did it in the rain, one day I did it with my kids next to me, and what else have I done before? You had a mask on. Yeah, I had a mask on. Smoking a cigar out here in the parking lot.

Out here in the parking lot. Yeah, knuckles, I mean, I still got the scab marks from the knuckles on the concrete, and you started to taper off there. You didn't mimic everything, and then you caught up really quick, you did them all together. Right, well, because you said you beat me.

I did. Oh, and you put your feet up. You're like, oh, it doesn't take much to beat you, I guess. That was easy.

That was easy. So, Saturday, I parlayed everything that I had not done into the day. I did the mask on. And the reindeer outfit.

Oh, I did the reindeer, I got the reindeer outfit. I did the mask on, in the rain, feet up, and then I got two of my four sons to do it. One is a firefighter and the other one is a soldier in the army. They wore their attire from both their jobs.

Yes. And then I cut them in with this lovely computer and software I have here. Yeah, I mean, you know, you really dialed in with that. Yes.

It was very impressive. Thank you. So, when I had threatened to you that you weren't doing your job, that was when I I ordered my lion ones. Oh, did you order that?

Oh, I thought it was something you just had. No, no, no. Oh. No, this is all incorporated.

Oh, jeez. See, you're planning ahead. I don't have that advantage. Yeah, you have to, you know.

I'm on the fly. You've got a counter-attack. Right. Well, that's what I thought.

I thought last night, I was telling my wife, okay, how can I do that? How can I? I don't have a lion suit, and I can't put children on my back. How do I do that?

Well, I can either do the same, or I can one-up. And I couldn't think of some way to one-up right away that would be significant enough, It was significant enough where you would have accepted it as better. So I would have got like a third child or something. So I was able to come up with a filter where the lion did the talking, and then I wore a muscle suit and did the push-up.

I had a crown, but it didn't fit my head. It didn't work, huh? It was too small. It was too small.

So yesterday's pose for me, which will be two days ago when this airs, I was in a lion onesie. I had my kids in onesies and then they would jump on my back and they would do, I would do push-ups with them on my back. Right. So, um, yeah, I think that you did okay as far as...

Yeah, for on the fly, I think, the creativity made up for the lack of children. It's gonna get worse, I just want you to know. I thought about grabbing some of the neighbors' kids, but I thought, well, this is gonna be kind of weird. Hey, uh...

Can I borrow your kids for about 20 minutes, maybe? So... I need to do some push-ups. I need to do some push-ups, so can your kids get them, what do you want to do?

You can stay and watch. Honey, call somebody. Mr. Palmer wants our children for pushups?

Yeah. Wow, she just painted over that piece of tape right there. I just saw that double-sided tape. Well, hey, you know, it's just, you know.

What did you pay for? Nothing else has popped off yet. Hamilton. Have you watched it?

I have watched it. Yes. Yes, I have. What network is that even on?

Disney Plus. Okay, I can do that. I can do Disney Plus. What is it?

I know it's a musical. It's a play about Alexander Hamilton. Oh. Are you going to dress like Alexander Hamilton?

It's like a hip hop version of it. Oh, nice. I heard it was terrible. It was fucking impressive.

Was it really? Yeah. Yeah. Watched the whole thing.

Really good. Really good. Have you watched the new Lava show? No.

The Floor is Lava? No. It's on Netflix, I believe. Really?

But it's like a game show. Well, it's a game show where there's an optical course. No, but what they have done is put hundreds of thousands of gallons of that same material, the green slime they used to do in the Nickelodeon show, but it's red, and it is heated, not to where it will burn you, but to where you know when you land in it, it's hot. It's warm.

Yeah, I haven't seen that yet. That looks amazing. I want to see that on Netflix. We tried to give Perry Mason a try.

At this point, as far as-- The old Perry Mason? They've redone it. They redid the new one. Yeah, I read the article about it.

At this point in coronavirus life, right? Yes. Tiger King was a long time ago. Oh, yes.

Like there's nothing we're grasping at this point. I'm trying to find – Trying to find stuff to watch, yeah. You know, so we watched Bosch. Yeah, you watched all those?

And, you know, when we turned it on, we were just like, damn, six seasons. I'm like, pfft, we got time. Yeah, right. And we did.

We finally made it through all of that. And I was like, now what? Fuck. So we tried – How many episodes in a season?

Ten. Oh, okay. All right, so there are only like 60 episodes. Yeah, so you know, you might do one a night or two a night.

We're watching Scandal, we're up to season five, but there's 24 episodes a season. Yeah, I'm starting to lose entry to shows, she too, now it's sort of on and we're both on our phones. That's the other problem, you know, is like, at least Bosch is, Bosch is very entertaining. Yeah, well, 10 seasons, you know, you don't get it.

A Scandal? No, no, no, 10 seasons of Bosch a season. 10 episodes. 10 episodes, sorry, 10 episodes, yes.

It's a little easier to get through, yeah, I agree, they can't have seven different storylines going on, and it's got its own little segments, you know, it's well written, it's not like it's extremely, the dialogue isn't extremely woven or anything, I like that actor, yeah, Titus, Titus something, yeah, Wheeler or some shit, but yeah, no, it's a very good, it's a good show, I highly recommend it, Perry Mason, I don't know, I don't know about Perry Mason. This isn't, if I remember the article already, this is not Perry Mason in the courtroom Perry Mason. This is back when he was a private detective. He's a detective in the '30s, and he's just not...

I think I saw it on E or something like that, but it didn't... And all they talk about is the clothes, right? " But, you know, it's like, you want to like, you got to root for the guy, right? And there's nothing, episode one, there was nothing for me to root for.

I wasn't, like, you want the character to be flawed, but still, you still got to like him. You still want to get behind him, right, yeah. Like, there's nothing I want to get behind with, I'm like, alright, we're done. So we gave it a shot, we should watch episode one.

Oh, just episode one, as far as you got, huh? Instant act. There wasn't enough for me to be like, oh, I gotta watch the next episode. Right, yeah.

Yeah, we've done a couple of that, I didn't remember the shows. It was not good. Right. We started watching a movie that took place in the '70s about a white actress who the FBI or somebody was following around because she got involved with a militant black activist or something.

I don't remember what that was, but it was terrible. That didn't stick. No, I mean, Alex and Adrian picked it and I just read the thing. I'm like, "Well, this isn't going to be good.

Well, how do you know? " 20 minutes in, Adrian's going, "We have to turn this off. Turn this off. This is stupid.

" It's no bueno. " There you go. Right. And, like, I like Billions, but they stopped at Episode 7.

Yeah. Yeah, there were several shows we watched on regular TV that were done. Like, Blacklist. Do you watch Blacklist?

No, but we watched all the Chicago's. Blacklist, they had shot half of the season finale, and then that's when they had to shut down production. So they cartooned it in, the missing pieces, like comic book cartoons. Oh, it was terrible.

It was terrible. They still had the actors do the voices, obviously. Well, I heard that they're using bodies now, right? Well, that's the soap operas.

Yeah, well, they start doing that everywhere. Action figures. But you could tell some people were at home, they were So, some guy sounds like this, and then somebody's talking like this, and I mean, that sound was just terrible, and then the cartoon comic books running through the screen, so, yeah. Cornhole's looking good though, on ESPN.

Oh, I saw it. Skip was watching that. Professional Cornhole. You know, you could have just come here, Skip.

We had Erik. We could have just Facebook Live joined. You could have seen the real champion. That's right.

He did beat everybody. Erik did end up winning the event, but we still let Bootsy have the... Steve. Yeah.

How are they calling him Bootsy? Because you shouldn't wear shorts with boots. A lot of snakes where he is, he says. A lot of snakes.

I mean, a lot of snakes. It just doesn't look right. He's in construction. There's a lot of snakes.

No, no. No, he hasn't been back in since... That was it. He won the smoker.

And now he's gone. Out. He's gone. Because we gave him too much shit about the deck.

Oh, it was 4th of July weekend and stuff. That's true. Could have been very busy. Super busy.

Super busy. All right, we're at 28 minutes. Take a break, and then we'll get into the news here. We'll get this thing rolling.

All right, we'll be right back. Thanks for the support. Okay, we're back. Hi.

We're going to get on with the news. S. travelers won't be among those allowed to visit the European Union when the bloc begins operating its external borders on July 1st, this past July 1st. EU ambassadors endorsed a list of 15 travel partners on Tuesday, including South Korea, Japan, and China, countries that were hit early by the pandemic, But have been able to bring the coronavirus under control.

S. of A. Yeah. We're not on the list.

Crushing it. We're not on the list. We were seen as a long shot to make the travel list, which requires that only those countries with epidemiological, whatever that word is, situations taking into account both the infection rate and the current trends that are equal to or better than the EU can send tourists and other non-essential visitors to the open border region. So, we can't travel outside of America.

I don't want to anyway. We're going to be okay. You want to know who's on the list? These are the countries that are allowed to travel in and out of Europe.

China? Well, they're alphabetical. I have them alphabetical. Okay.

Algiers? Australia? Canada? How many on this list?

Huh? I don't know. Stop it like D. No, no.

We're going all the way. Canada. So, you can go to Canada, but you can't come to the USA. Yeah.

The USA can't go there. Georgia? Not the state, the country, Georgia. Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda.

Don't they have Ebola in Rwanda? Oh, the hotel. Do you see the movie? It's not there anymore.

Oh, it's gone? Yes. Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay, and China. All those people can travel.

It's alphabetized except China? Yeah, isn't that weird? China's the end. Because they're subject and confirmation of...

See if you can - if they're gonna let people in there. They can go to Europe if Europe can go there. China borders are still not open. I have friends who decided - who live in China.

They're Americans. They decided to take a trip out and they went to - where'd they go? They went to Thailand, I think? Got stuck in Thailand.

And now they've gone - now they're in another country. I don't remember where they're at. Bangkok is Thailand. So maybe they're in Thailand now.

They were somewhere before. But they can't go back to China. They have a perfectly good apartment in China? Can't get to it.

Can't go - not a lot back. It's a perfectly good apartment. But it can go. One that hasn't collapsed on it.

So since May, I guess, they were stuck in this one country and now they're in another country. Remind me, got a little out of it, Mikey. Down in Miami, restaurants, gyms, and other businesses in Miami-Dade County must once again close their doors due to a spike in coronavirus cases in South Florida. Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Jimenez issued an emergency order Monday morning.

Jimenez, Jimenez. Whatever. He's closing restaurants except for takeout and delivery. The order which takes effect on Wednesday, tomorrow, oh no two days, also shutting gyms, fitness centers, short term rentals, party venues, ballrooms, and banquet facilities.

Short term rentals? Yeah, I don't know what that is. Is needed by the hour? One of those places?

Goddammit. Beaches in the county which have been closed for the 4th of July weekend are still set to reopen on Tuesday, July 2nd, but we see crowding and people not following the public health rules. I will be forced to close the beaches again, Jimenez warned. Office of buildings, retail stores, and grooming services can remain open for now, he added.

The mayor says he plans to keep outdoor activities such as hotel and condominium pools open for now, as well, along with summer camps and child daycare centers. So, apparently, you only get it in Miami if you go to eat. Well, look, overregulation doesn't work, unfortunately, right? Yes.

Like, you could argue-- Oh, they're still under curfew, too. You could argue at this point, but like, you close the bars, people are just gonna go hang out somewhere else. They're going to get their booze and they're going to get together, right? Fourth of July, you're going to shut all this stuff down and people are going to get together.

Still going to get together. I mean, yeah. Adrian and Alex went over to New Smyrna on Saturday and they ate at a restaurant, a rooftop restaurant, and went shopping. Sneezed on a couple people.

I'm hoping nobody sneezed on them is what I'm crossing my fingers for. Let's see. Oh, this is big news. Tell me.

Big news, Mike. Tell me. I need to know. The Supreme Cigar Association announced last week the entire staff will be furloughed as a result of the economic effects streaming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The furloughs will begin July 15th. Oh, that explains the next question I had. The furloughs also include Executive Director Scott Pierce, which I'm now friends with on Facebook. I'm trying to get him to come on the show.

You were friends with him? On Facebook, just recently. Not real friends, Facebook friends. In a conference call with the Cigar Media, not us, was not us, Pence described the furlough as a short-term, temporary measure.

In a summary measure, Pence said the organization was not eligible for relief funds from the PPP. As for operations, Pierce said the Board of Directors is expected to expand its volunteer role during the furlough. There is no timetable for when the furlough is rescheduled to end. The COVID-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of 2020.

We already know this. There will be some temporary changes to its staffing and programs as a result of the enduring effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic hardships. Well, yeah, they just did away with it. They furloughed everybody.

I've furloughed everybody. Yeah. But I noticed someone is still posting on their Instagram. Oh.

They're still paying that person. Well, to the 15th. Then it says to the 15th. You're out of here.

You're gone. Stop posting. You're done. At July 15th, the PCA staff will be furloughed with benefits.

Oh. Oh, with benefits. As the board and executive committee works through the financial challenges the Associates are currently facing. I wonder what the benefit is.

Clearing out the bank account and then calling, saying, "Well, we're done. " Let's see. John Anderson, president of the PCA Board, issued the following statement addressing the changes. Where do you think he's from?

What kind of accent should I give him? Ooh. I mean, it doesn't matter if it's gonna sound Chinese. All Chinese.

We have worked an entire segment over the past several months to keep the businesses alive, the PCA Board has also confronted the challenges facing the association due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past few months, the PCA Board has struggled with several very difficult decisions over the time and staff. It's all a bunch of stuff. Oh, that's a keg.

Oh. Somebody doesn't know how to move a keg is what that is. Evidently. Steve.

It's going to be Steve. He only has the one hand. He can't grab a hold. Oh, jeez.

He can't grab a hold. I want to also assure you that the 2021 Annual Conference of Trade Show is on schedule for July 9th. So we're furloughing everybody now, but don't worry. We're still on.

We're still on for next year. Send us money. It just feels like PCA has become top-heavy, man. It really has.

Yes, on behalf of the entire PCA Board, I want to express my deepest appreciation for the hard work the staff devoted to our industry on a daily basis. We look forward to the near future when we can have them all back to continue their good work, he says. They should have just bought a building. You think this is the beginning of the end for the PCA?

I hope not. Well, I hope not too. It could be. It could be.

It could very well be. I think the beginning of the end could have been the whole pull-out thing of the first, you know... When they canceled the thing? Oh, the Four Horsemen or whatever the fuck.

Oh, oh, yeah, yeah. That was like the first punch in the face. Right, right. Then they had to cancel the whole thing because of the pandemic.

That was another punch in the face. And now the furloughing. Okay, where do they get their money? They get it from the show.

Well, you know, as a retailer, you pay every year. Right, right. So you pay your dues. So everybody's still paying their dues.

Right. They didn't give refunds back for the show, but they put that money towards your next year's show. Right. Right.

But did they get a percentage of anything? Your wholesalers also pay in, right? Right. No, no.

Well, that's what you're saying. I just want to make sure that that's clear. Did they lose any revenue from the show? I guess the completion of the payment, because you only paid a deposit.

Of course they did. Yeah. So you didn't pay the whole thing up front. I'm sure they got a piece of the hotel.

I mean, I'm sure there's... You think? Because I've heard a rumor that they have to guarantee so many rooms or they have to pay. Maybe.

Maybe that's it. So they actually saved money by not having anybody there. So if they have to guarantee so many rooms or pay, I doubt they got a piece of the room. Right.

So it depends on how that roomber goes. It's just like Tiger King. I don't know if PCA will be able to financially recover from this. That's just it.

They might not. They might not. So now we're crossing our fingers that the TPE does not get canceled. Oh, the TPE is not going anywhere.

Well, but no, no, not the organization, but the show. I mean, you know. I think it's not. Honestly, dude.

We don't know where this is going to play out for next year. Well, just look at everybody else. China's not reporting shit. Well, no, but now they have the bubonic plague somewhere.

Yeah, whatever. That's standard for them. We have a cure for that. Yeah, it's called, you know, antibiotics.

Right. You get shots. Right. You know, I don't know.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that end of July, you know, you're starting to see numbers really kind of drop. They're saying that in the wintertime, numbers might go back up. That's all bullshit. I don't listen to this fucking, I'm just tired of it.

Right, you know, I'm just going to be optimistic. You're going to be optimistic? And I'm going to say that come the end of July. Yes.

So, three weeks from now, we're in the right direction. Three weeks from now, Miami's opened again. Numbers are going down successfully. I have a wedding to go to Miami in October.

I really hope things are better by then. You'll be fine. Because I just got fitted today. You'll be fine.

As long as the hospitals don't get inundated. Well, they're getting busy. I was going to say, the Miami mayor, I didn't read his entire press release, because I know who you are about press releases, but he said the hospitals are starting to get busy again, so he's doing this to, you know, slow, try to slow it down a little bit so the hospitals can keep up. But you're not, at this point, you know, he would have been- I think less people are dying now.

Right. Oh, huge. Yeah. " They're already doing that down there.

Well, it's not working. That's the best you can do. It's not working. That's all you can do, Mike.

It's not working. It's not working. It's not working. It's going to have to ride it out.

Everybody needs to wear a lion suit. Yes. No, the T-Rex like we did with the dojo one. Oh, then you're completely encased.

Yeah, so the fan on the butt. Oh, the fan on the butt is blowing all the germs up in the suit, though. Yeah, it's fine. Just put a filter.

It'd be perfect. Put a filter on it. Take one of those masks on the inside. Exactly.

See, you're always one step ahead, Mike. Always one step ahead. Except when it comes to my push-ups, you're behind. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Yeah. Wait until my other outfits come in. See. Dun, dun, dun.

Brittany, if you could tell me what suits he bought. Nope. All right. On with the show then, Michael.

Roof collapse at Cuba's Partagas factory closes the iconic Casa de Habano. How does that work in a communist country? Ever since the- Do you submit an insurance claim? How's that?

I don't think- Who's going to cover that? Apparently nothing really happens in the building anymore. Casually known as the Particas Factory closed for renovations in 2011, so it wouldn't open anyone. Everyone assumed it was only a matter of time before the iconic building behind the city's capital would reopen with its former glory restored.

That day has been pushed off maybe forever. Welcome to communism. That's right. This week a roof in the building collapsed while the damage did not affect the La Casa de Habano inside the front entrance of the old factory.

The store has now been closed too. Sources at Habano SA, the Cuban Cigar Bonapoli, says no one was injured, at least no one we're telling you about, in the incident, but one of the precautions, the entire building has now been closed until the structure integrity can be checked. How do they, what are they checking the integrity with? Yeah.

Just look around, there's a big hole in the roof. Hey Juan, you think they're going to fall? Oh man. No, no fall, it could.

Oh my god. Donde es el Rufo Paulo, por favor? You're amazing. You're an amazing person.

There was no immediate comment from the department that oversees the La Casa de Havano franchise in Havana, so there's an apartment for that. Because they're busy. But a publisher, they're very busy trying to figure out the roof. They're smoking cohibas.

The roof. Speculating that the shop, one of the busiest stores in the city, will be moved to a new location somewhere in central. The roof is gone. We need to move the shop somewhere else.

Maybe somewhere else. Although the iconic retail location is currently closed, there are still plenty of La Casa De Habano shops throughout Havana. Who can get them everywhere? Some of which are conveniently located within hotels.

Oh. The old Pardigas factory has not produced cigars in many years. So, you know. So no harm, no foul.

Production ceased in the factory nearly a decade ago. They're just waiting on this place to float as well. Like, you know what? Let it collapse.

Yes. The modern Pardigas factory was relocated to a different part of the city. That was not in the process of collapsing. Ah, okay.

Yes. With a real roof. With a roof. Or at least quasi-real roof.

Ten roof. Yeah. There's no... I can't imagine that there's, you know, builder's code or anything like that.

That's what I mean. It's like China, you know, they wrap these skyscrapers in bamboo and then they start building. Right. Yeah, we got it done in two days.

Two days. Very safe. You go inside. Very nice.

Seventy-five stories. No problem. There's an elevator. It's amazing.

Get the hamster in the wheel with people in the club stars. All right, Michael. Our friend Todd Vance. Remember Todd Vance?

I do. Where was Todd Vance at originally? Well, he was originally with Cornelius and Anthony. Then he joined Spencer Drake at White Hat.

Did he move to White Hat? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, okay. So he followed Spencer to White Hat.

Well, eventually Spencer brought him over. I don't know how that, it sounded like they broke up. He broke up. It wasn't, uh, I don't know if it was, uh, uh, kind of rough.

Then he went to, um... Then he went to Cornelius & Anthony. Oh no, Cornelius & Anthony before that. Cornelius & Anthony.

Wait, he went back to Cornelius & Anthony. No, Cornelius & Anthony. He was recently... Stop.

Sorry. Padilla. No, no. I thought he, before Padilla, he was at Cornelius & Anthony.

He was at Cornelius, uh, here's your timeline. Okay, sorry. Cornelius & Anthony. Okay.

Spencer Drake. Okay. Right. Illegal or formerly White House.

Oh, that's right, he was a illegal. Right. That's right, because he came in when we had- Well, that's Spencer Drake. Yeah, okay.

Right. Had Mr. Rabana. Then he went Padilla.

Right. And now, where is he? Now, Todd Vance joins Stallone Cigars. Sylvester?

As the new North American Vice President of Sales earlier this year, Vance joined Padilla Cigars in a similar role, yet the COVID-19 crisis derailed his time with Padilla. So, evidently, Stallone is immune. So, now he's with Sly? Yes, he is.

He is. J. Fernandez, Cornelius & Anthony, and La Familia Robana. Vance starts at Stallone Cigars August 1st.

What is Sly doing? Stallone Cigars, Cigars and Stallone, a combination with automatically makes you think of Hollywood movie star Sylvester Stallone. Stallone's a famous cigar smoker and even lit cigars on screen. He's seen with a cigar in The Expendables, and in the 1990s, Stallone even had his cigar brand with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chuck Norris.

Norris. Oh, they had a brand? Apparently. I didn't know that either.

But Sylvester Stallone is not involved with Stallone Cigars. Oh! Stallone Cigars is a brainchild of Tony Barrios, a Texas native with Italian roots. You'd think there would be a problem with using the name.

I guess there isn't. Stallone means stallion in Italian, Michael. Oh. The Italian stallion.

Makes sense. Can't call it that. I'm sure he's got that one tagged. It's probably trademarked.

Oh, yes. But I mean, if he's not doing cigars. Barrio's Italian grandfather had a ranch and dreamed of having a stallion. Who's making the cigar?

Let's just go, come on. Well, so one day he got his birthday present, but the horse was too wild and too stubborn to be broken in. Many cowboys tried, all failed, when his grandfather said, "That horse is very difficult to ride. " And so did Bruce.

He is competing with the best cowboys in the world and winning many combinations. I probably should have read this because I stopped the story there. It's Undisclosed Factory, they're not saying. Undisclosed.

They're undisclosed. Oh. The Cowboy brand is making these cigars, which is a new brand, but I believe the Cowboy is made by Gabby Caffey, if I remember correctly. Oh, I would assume that that's where these are being made then.

But it's, they're not saying where, it's undisclosed. Fair enough. It's a secret. Oh.

Totano Paddy. Magical. No, it's made in Nicaragua. Gabby is in Honduras.

Oh. Hmm. So, who knows? Why would they not say who's making it?

I don't know. Plasencia. Maybe, no, I don't know. No, because if then, then David Blanco would be talking about it.

Hmm. Interesting. We'll never know where. I mean, I would say.

I mean, for me, like, that's a big notoriety thing. It's like, hey, I'm working with these guys. That's why I figured maybe it's not a well-known factory. These guys are legit.

But then, why wouldn't you want to bring them to light? This is the factory because these guys are the future, right? I don't know. I don't know.

What do I know? What do I know? Maybe Skip's making it. I don't think so.

That's why you can't get cigars. Maybe. Makes sense. I'm throwing a little shade over there, eh?

No, I'm my friend Skip. I love Skip. Yeah, he loves Skip. We're going to the media house together next year.

I know. Yes. 2021. 2021.

Not 2020. Nope, nope. We may even pick up Jack. Let Jack ride with us, too.

We've got to wait for 2021 to get canceled. Maybe Jack can drive Skip and I. Maybe that would be nice. That would be fantastic.

Oh, that'd be nice. Oh, you don't want to sit behind Jack in a car. Imagine there's no leg room at all. And nobody has tried Jack to do the push-ups.

You know, I thought about it, but... Eric Espinosa's doing it. Yes, yes, he is doing it. And he called out Juan Cancel.

And he's doing it. And he's doing it, yeah. He actually reached out to get some facts. Right.

He's like, hey, do I call somebody out every day? Is this an every day thing? Oh, yeah. Every day.

So, you know, for me, it's just easier if you just build a list. I built a list. Oh, did you make a list? And then I'm like, okay, who have another interest?

I'm just hitting it day by day. Unless you got a big fuckin' mouth and you make a comment on my shit. It seems like people have gotten wise to that. They figured that out.

Like, oh shit, I better not say anything. I don't wanna fuckin' do push-ups. I don't wanna be doing push-ups. I don't wanna, you know.

I almost didn't do this. Oh, really? When Scott called me out. See?

Like, 'cause I had been called out. If you didn't do it, I wouldn't have been. Right, it wouldn't impart late into what it is. " I did that years ago.

I'm not doing that again. Yeah, back in the day, when it was very popular, I was called out. And, um, I didn't do it. Well, you know, I'd much rather do that as one day you're done.

It's not like 22 ice buckets. It's kind of like a cold plunge, I guess. Exactly, for you. Yeah, same thing.

" You know, I don't know what happened that I was like, "You know what? " Well, do you do push-ups as part of your workout anyway? No. Oh.

Well, you just added it in. That's all it is to you. It just – you know, I will tell you this, especially with this whole coronavirus thing going on, like I felt – I have felt this need to push myself into areas that make me uncomfortable, right? Like tiling my entire fireplace with my wife.

Like that was something that I'm looking at. I'm like, I don't know. But then my brother's like, you're never going to do that. I'm like, okay, fuck you.

Oh, it is your brother. So, you know, I'm going to give this a shot, right? Right. Flooring, like all those, all these things that I've never done before, out of my comfort zone, definitely, you know, made me grow as a person.

Aw, look at you. So, when I was challenged to do this, I was like, I don't want to do that. I'm like, but, okay, it's going to be uncomfortable and it's going to be a pain in the ass, but let's do this. Right.

Let's do it, so. I can't believe you've ordered more outfits. Oh, yeah. I will say this, though.

You know, the one disappointment with the 22 push-ups has been my boy, Sean Coleman. He didn't do any. He hasn't done them. Right.

And I, you know... I forgot. Really disappointing. May I call out Mike Rosales?

You know, like, when you don't do it, it's like the "I'm too cool for school" shit. " See, I call out Hunt. Figured he's Mr. Orange Julius, or whatever the hell it is.

" It depends upon, it's like a case-by-case for me. There are some people that I will ask beforehand, and there are some that I'll just do. Right. Now, I did not ask Corey today, because I was looking for somebody, and I figured, oh, well, you know.

John Carney, LFD, I asked. " Man, whatever you do, don't say shit about somebody's push-ups. That's how you get called out. Yeah, you don't make those comments.

That's how Eric got it, and then that's how Juan got it off Eric. How do you think I got it? Oh, that's right. You called it.

I was way too fast, bro. " And I'm calling out. So. Okay.

What else? What else you got there, Michael? Okay. Nike is laying off his staff after announcing a $790 million loss in his latest quarterly earnings.

Who? Nike. Nike? Nike.

The shoes? The shoes. Yeah, the shoes. Because nobody's buying anything new from the waist down.

Announced the layoffs expecting it to occur in phases starting in July. They sent a company-wide email on Thursday. The email, which Complex saw, did not specify how many employees in which department would be affected, but mentioned that the workers at Nike retail stores, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities were not expected to be among those that laid off. Not expected to be laid off?

Donahue said the layoffs were not related to the pandemic or cost, but described them as an effort to restructure the overburdening matrix of the company according to the Complex. I just want you to know the stock is up. Oh, wow. Good for them.

It's a little off the 52-week high. Daytona High School just partnered up with Nike, too, to do their sports attire. It might not have been a good move. They're not going anywhere.

I can tell you that much. Any money saved would be reinvested in the company. The announcement came shortly after Nike reported a net loss of $790 million in the fourth quarter, partly the result of the COVID-19 pandemic impact on stores across North America, but he said earlier that it had nothing to do with the pandemic, so I don't know. Uh huh.

" Okay, good for Nike. Yes. So, I have a Listener of the Week. Huh.

And... Oh. And, let's see, Listener of the Week is EL_WAPLIN. Finally, on Instagram, his first name is Jason, he is an avid listener of the show, Instagram posts every week when he's listening and when he's smoking with his, watching the show, his cigar while he's watching the show.

Very nice. Yes. This whole time. And you haven't acknowledged him until now.

Well, everybody rotates through, there's only so many listeners of the week we can do. You wanna just do 20 listeners a week next week and knock out the entire thing? No, no. You don't have to yell at me, Mike.

You're always yelling at me. A little teaser. I'm just pushing you. A little teaser for the Patreon.

In the near future, we will be reviewing the Voyage Cigar. Oh. And I have to give a special thanks to Mickey Carroll. He was the one who apparently had a couple of those just sitting around.

It's kind of there. Was able, was willing to give them up for the show. Interesting. I can't wait to review it.

Thank you, Mr. Carroll. Yes. I can't either.

It's supposed to have been mailed today. I feel like a negative bonus star is coming up. I'm already working out in my head. Oh.

I'm just kidding. Am I? Am I? I don't know.

We're at 52 minutes. So finally, Michael, Gene Tipton from Sindicato Cigars died in cancer over the weekend. Oh. I had actually met him one time at Cigar Castle.

What kind of cancer? I don't know. You always ask me things I don't know. I don't know.

His wife said he passed peacefully in his sleep. How old was he? I didn't ask her. He was in his late 60s.

Still young. Still young, yes. Yes. He talked, when I was repping cigars, he ran into him at Cigar Castle and he had talked to me, he had been wanting to meet me and talk to me about repping Sindicato cigars.

Oh. And you and Mr. Drake, Mr. Drake actually said just take them for all he's worth.

Basically. And you recommended I didn't take that brand. I recommended a pass on that brand. Yes, yes.

And I did. And then, I don't know why I have this. I have a chart that shows how far coughs travel. I don't know why I have that in here.

Oh, that's a COVID question. It's a COVID thing. But it makes me want to cough. When you say that, it's like a yawn.

Well, no mask of any kind. It travels eight feet, apparently. 6 feet. Oh, that's less.

A folded handkerchief, which I guess is also a bandana, I don't know. One point, maybe you just fold a pocket square and hold it over your mouth, I don't know. 5 inches. I don't know why that's in here, but that is in here.

Well, that's good. And that's it, that's all I got! That's good. Anything else you want to go over?

I can review something, I was going to talk about it on the Patreon, but I can talk about it here. Well, we need something to talk about on the Patreon while we're smoking, because that seemed to go better, we get to smoke more. All right, well, I'm going to hold it, then. All right, you hold that.

It was something I was going to talk about. I don't remember what it was. Something personal. I don't remember during the period.

Yeah, you were talking out there about something, and you said, oh, you know what? Well, that was the young lady named Cassidy Palmer. Oh, Cassidy Palmer. Yeah.

Your new roommate. Right, the new young lady. No, Adrian, I guess she mentioned she was in her 30s, and Adrian said she had a wedding ring on, so no. Because she kept calling- Oh, so you're not interested then?

No, she's not. Who needs all that? We were calling Alex "Baby" and "Honey" and kept touching him. " That's like an industry thing.

You know what I mean? He wouldn't pay in the tab. You think she would have been calling me "Baby" and touching my arm? " Give her like an extra 10 percent.

I'm a big tipper anyway. But I felt obligated since she had the name. Hey, Big Spender. No, there's only one Big Spender.

Evan, by the way. Evan. Oh, we could talk about that if you want. Heaven Rack Book has not done his pushups.

Has not done his pushups either. My wife said we're bullies here at the shop. We're bullies? She said we're bullies.

You're fucking A-right, we are. We're bully people. And she said, you know what? You're the worst.

I went, what? Everybody likes me. I would say that you are... Apparently, I'm the lead bully here.

I don't know. I felt bad. You're very funny. That's what I...

I go, it's funny, honey. She says, everybody likes it, but the person you're bullying... Whatever. They'll be fine.

They'll get over it. Look, if you're getting that kind of treatment in this shop. Right. This is what I told her.

It's how I explained it. Then you're special. That's right. If we didn't like you, we wouldn't talk to you.

You're part of that group. That's right. You're in. You're part of the in crowd.

Yeah. If we know enough personal information about you to give you a hard time when you're here, you're a regular. Right. You're one of us.

And it's a two-way street. Don't get me wrong. Oh, yeah. Certainly.

If they want to tee off. If they wanna fight back, they can. That's right. Tee up and take your shots.

But do it at your own risk. At your own risk, exactly. Because, you know, if you put me in your sights, I'm gonna fucking be relentless. Greg had to take me outside because I was everything too rough with Mr.

Steve when he first came in here. Oh, today? No, no, no, no. A long time ago when Steve started.

Oh, yeah. You were hurting his feelings. Apparently I was hurting his feelings. Well, but that's even different.

You're talking about an employee. Well, that's different. It's a whole nother level. That's like a level of hazing.

That's right. That's how Greg explained it. He goes, there's all men that work here. It's sort of a level of hazing that you're going to have to go through before you consider it in.

And, you know, well, hey, look, rightfully so, the guy still doesn't do some of these things that are required. Like, you know, the process. It's like, you know, I mentioned this at the meeting, like the department, the redundancy department. Like, why are we still having this conversation about the processes that are in place?

You do step one, step two, step three, step one. You don't jump to step three and then realize it's a fucking catastrophe and then go back to step one. If you just started at step one from the get, well, if you couldn't do it out of order, don't complain it didn't work. Right, right.

I mean, that's the biggest problem. Right. I mean, if you're going to skip two and go to three and then go back and do two, don't complain that two didn't pass. Right, yeah.

At that point, it's your own fault. Right, now you're wasting time. Right. We don't appreciate that here.

Don't waste time. Time is money! That's it. Because Greg is super busy.

He doesn't have time for all this. We need you to be an efficient ninja in this place at all times. At all times, yes. All right, we're in an hour.

All right, guys. This has been episode 129. There you go, Pedro. There's your hour.

There's your hour, Pedro. Wear your mask. Wash your hands. Don't touch people.

Perfect. I'm good, Mike and Mike. How are you guys doing? The Hojo Dee.

Hojo! It's the Hojo! Demandre-- You didn't even let him fuck it up all the way. I can't get past Hojo!

I don't even have to try to hit this. I'm not even gonna try. We're gonna cover a lot of ground here, Mike. All right.

Try to keep up. That's a sign of a good podcast. It would be like four cigars when I walked in the door. All right, end this.
