Episode 40 Advise from the Hustler

Episode Summary
Episode 40 of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast is a two-part "Advice from the Hustler" episode with hosts Mike and Mike. The first half is personal: one host shares that unnamed people in the industry have been saying he's "not cigar rep material" after only five weeks on the job. That kicks off an honest conversation about how every retailer and every rep in the business operates differently, why showing up on time and communicating matters more than fitting somebody's mold, and how pointless it is to relay anonymous criticism to someone. The takeaway leans on motivational speaker Eric Thomas — "I am, and I don't need your permission" — and one host's story of watching an E.T. YouTube video at 3 a.m. while first building the Cigar Hustler website, then later seeing him speak live at an auto-industry conference in Orlando.
The centerpiece of the episode is a tongue-in-cheek but genuinely detailed guide to smoking cigars in a car — including, hypothetically, a rental — without leaving evidence behind. The advice covers choosing the right vehicle (leather interior wipes down easier than fabric, a sunroof for airflow), shutting the A/C completely off so smoke never reaches the cabin filter, and giving yourself a five- or six-hour smoking cutoff before drop-off. Cleanup runs about 10–15 minutes with a packet of Clorox or baby wipes: seat, center console, cup holders, floor mat edges, the shifter (cleaned in both park and drive), the steering column, the dash, the back seat, and the exterior window channel where flicked ash leaves a white streak. Finish with an odor spray like Ozium, including a quick shot into the front four vents, then run the air to circulate. The hosts add a clear disclaimer: if you don't want your car to smell like smoke, don't smoke in it, and be prepared to pay a cleaning fee if you're renting.
Along the way there are riffs on Fred Rewey — formerly of Nomad Cigar Company — and his new travel venture and camper, plus a closing round of housekeeping: the show has passed 6,000 downloads, listeners are showing up from the Netherlands, Great Britain, Australia and the Dominican Republic, and a shout-out goes to Skip Martin. Travel plans include Fort Myers, Punta Gorda, Sarasota and Naples, and an appearance at Tinderbox in Memphis, Tennessee, where one host will be covering a multi-vendor event for RoMa Craft Tobac and Rosalones.

Every day I'm hustling, every day I'm hustling, every day I'm hustling, every day I'm hustling, every day I'm hustling, every day I'm hustling, every day I'm hustling, every day I'm hustling. Welcome to Cigar Hustlers Podcast, where we take a closer look at the people of the cigar industry, with your host, Mike and Mike. Hustling, hustling, hustling, hustling, hustling.
Every day I'm, every day I'm, every day I'm. Hello, love. Hey, Tom. It's on now.
Hello, Michael. Hello, Michael. This will be a quick win. You think so?
Thank you. Thank you, everybody, for listening. That was it. It's over.
I feel like this could be. It's going to go on forever. I think it's going to be a decent one. Oh.
I think it's going to have decent. We need a funny one. Last week, we were kind of serious. Yeah, I wasn't feeling great.
No, you were a little under the weather. And that kind of parlayed for me into like, oof, really bad. I got asked by people if you disliked Casey. Oh, I love Casey.
That's what I said. No, I wasn't feeling well. Right. And then I got really sick.
Oh, I'm sorry. Which was not good. And we had a hurricane. Eh, not really.
No, we didn't have a hurricane. And it went, bong, bong. Alright, let's get out of the way. One, two, three, go.
Hi, I'm Mike. And I'm Mike, too. And this is the Cigar Hustlers Podcast. Car Hustlers Podcast.
Ooh, we got that out of the way. Yes. Yes, we did. So, you had something you'd like to talk about.
Well, you said that you had something that you wanted to talk about. Yeah, but nah. You were just like super cryptic about it, and I'm intrigued to hear. Are you?
Just industry stuff. I'm intrigued now, but I might be disappointed when you're done. You might be. So go ahead and...
You might be. I don't know, it's a little personal. There's people, and I don't know who the people are, that are saying I'm not cigar rep material. Ooh!
Yes. Yeah? But it's only been five weeks. I mean, you know, take any of the big cigar reps in the state of Florida, throw them into my regular job, after five weeks they couldn't even find the airport.
Well, here's the one thing that I could tell you. Okay. I'll admit, there's traits I don't have, but I'm still learning. He's coming back out of the step as I see Greg trying to walk into the office, which would be funny.
That's like his thing now, he always walks in, but he still don't have the on-air light. Let's see, there you go, he gave up. Excellent. So, you know, first of all, who gives a fuck what they have to say?
Oh, I don't care. You don't need permission from them to do anything. It's not changing anything I'm doing. Not in any way.
Is this going to be one of those podcasts where I talk? I'm sorry. People enjoy it when they cut you off. No, they enjoy us getting into arguments with each other, which is kind of funny.
I'm shutting down. So, you don't need permission from them. Who cares what they say, you know? I mean, screw 'em.
They're not important. I'm not changing anything. Nothing's going on. You know, there's, there's, I'm sure there's things that, uh, that they do that I don't do, but I guarantee there's things I do that they don't do, too.
Yeah, but who cares? If I tell somebody I'm gonna be there at 10 o'clock, I'm there at 9:50. Right. You know, and if I don't show, you're gonna get 17 phone calls explaining why I'm not there.
I'm not one of those guys that's just gonna show up. I mean, that's kind of the interesting aspect of this industry in itself, is, you know, every single retailer is different, and they all have different characters. Oh, yes. Yeah.
Some expect a phone call a week in advance, some a day in advance, some don't care, just show up whenever, and then some don't care if you're there, some are happy to see you. Right, yeah, that feels about all the different options. Mm-hmm. But as far as anybody else feeling that you are not material, I say, screw 'em.
Yeah, you know, I don't know exactly who it is, or, you know, there was no names given to me. That's even worse. Who the hell gave you, who told you that? Well, we're not getting into that.
Okay, but let me tell you, I just like people who are talking about me, so evidently something's happening somewhere. Well, I mean, the cigar industry is just full of a bunch of, you know, crying little whiny baby, 50-year-old men that don't know, I mean, like, that's just so stupid. " You might not be suited for this type of job. Fuck him, who cares?
Fuck that guy for saying that to you. " Then why the fuck did you bring it up? Well, I didn't even ask, 'cause I really don't care. That's stupid.
That's the dumbest shit I've ever heard in my life. Yeah. Ever. Well, that was it.
So that's what you wanted to talk about? There was more ways that we could've got into it, you know, like, ask you what you thought the traits were for a good. Mike Rapp and all that kind of stuff. But it varies by person.
I mean, even if you've mentioned, you know, the bigger names in the state, the Groovers, the, well, I can't even think of anybody else, the Pete Hernandez or, you know, all the other people, everybody's different. Nobody does it the same way. Well, I think that here's the thing. You're right.
Everybody is different. Jeff is a great example. And the fact of the matter is that I'm sure there was a time when Jeff started. exactly that's what i had said you know this guy's not gonna make it this guy this guy's so yeah you know if this is what you want to do keep doing what you're doing and never give up that's what i'm doing that's the way i'm going you know screw them screw them that's it huh that was it six minutes okay everybody thanks for listening well you know this has been episode but i you know getting getting into a little bit more this week i took my brother to see Eric Thomas.
Yeah. You've talked about that. I don't know who he is. Eric Thomas is my dude.
Well, yeah. " So, I'll give you a little background story. Okay. When, I don't know who Eric Thomas was, but a buddy of mine posted this video on Facebook, I don't know, eight years ago, when we just started getting into the cigar industry.
And Erik Thomas is really popular and well known for his YouTube video of, you know, when you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you'll be successful, and that's kind of what this YouTube was. Yeah. And I was watching it, it was like 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning, I was working on the site. I'm listening, but I'm going to type that in, that sounds like something I'd like to watch.
I was working on the website, and Cigar Hustlers just getting started. And I was getting tired and I didn't want to continue, I was like, this is just ridiculous, I didn't, I'm like, there's so many items, I don't know enough about this stuff, I knew nothing about the cigar industry, so, then I come across, so I jump onto Facebook, I see this YouTube video, now I'm fired up, and I just kept going, and just kept that in the back of my head to keep pushing, and I- If you put in Eric on YouTube, he's the third one that comes up. He's the number one motivational speaker in the world. Higher than Tony Robbins.
That guy? That's my dude. Right there. Just making sure I had the right one.
Thank God it's Monday. Whenever I do my Instagram posts, thank God it's Monday. That's Eric. Oh, that's from him?
Yeah, man. I thought you just like Monday Night Football or something. So, he's got his own page. It's on YouTube page.
Yeah, guy's real deal. So, this guy, I don't know how these car dealer guys did this, but they put together this conference, And they got Eric Thomas there. So I, of course, said, "Wow, I don't have to go anywhere to see Eric Thomas in Orlando? Absolutely!
" So I got two tickets, and it was mainly, you know, like, for the portion of inspirational speaking that was going on, a lot of it was kind of auto industry prior to him coming on. But it was still awesome. I mean, they had four speakers, it was pretty fantastic. His videos are all under ten minutes, right in my attention span.
Right? He's got a podcast too. So man, we went and saw him and one of the first thing he talks about is I am and I don't need permission from you to be who I want to be. Right?
And I think that that's a big - put your phone down, God damn it. I'm looking at his everything. He's got hobby hustle, write it down or shut it down, sacrifice good for great. Yep.
Okay, put it down. We're talking. We're talking. That's what's important, right?
So he says, what did I just say? You don't even know, because you're busy, your head was in the phone. No, it was mostly auto industry stuff, but still it was good. " Oh, that one's actually right there?
And that's the truth. We could play that for the show. You don't need permission from anybody. No.
To be what you want to be, right? And let them ridicule you, let them say whatever the hell they want to say, because they will. Because it's easier to tear you down, right? Right.
I mean, the amount of shit that I've heard about from Cigar Hustler, right? Stay away from that guy. I've heard that I'm an instigator. Oh, you guys are troublemakers.
I'm learned on all types of shit. You said instigators at the same time I said troublemakers. Right, exactly. I don't care.
Screw you, man. I don't need your permission to be who the hell I want to be. And neither do you. Nope.
So, and fuck your friend for, I don't care who it was, they should have given up the information. " So, I've said my piece. Is that it? We're done?
10 minutes. No way. We're just getting warmed up. This is gonna be an advice.
Does he have like a musical intro? We could just play a little snippet of him. No. Put your phone down.
God damn it. I like to tie in the video and sound into our show. No. So, this is the, um, this is gonna be an advice from The Hustler, right?
We need a special song for that. I think, I think that'd be great. I'm thinking like Sanford and Son thing. Advice from the Hustler, or maybe some old time 20 Musics or something.
Sure. You do whatever the hell you want to do. You're the creative mind here, the creative producer. I like that nobody else ever uses my microphone because my nose is on it and my face is on it.
That's nice. Yes. You float around, use all these dirty microphones. Yeah, I float around and touch all them, probably have a fucking normal moment.
That's why you're sick and I'm not. Yeah. That's it. No, I'm sick because the kids bring home everything from school.
They do when they're little. They do when they're young. They're young. And they recover like that.
Yeah. They're very resilient children. Destroy us as people. So wait until they get older, you hope they don't bring any illnesses home because it's, you know, STDs or something, and you're just going, I don't know.
Oh, good. Oh, thanks, Mike. Stuff they pick up on the plane. You pick up STDs on the plane?
If you sit in the wrong seat. Oh, boy. So, anyways, this advice from The Hustler is going to be about smoking in your car. What?
I don't want to talk about it. Your own personal car or a rental car? So I'm going to say flat out smoking in a car. Okay.
Now, do I smoke in rentals? Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe, maybe not.
If I were, hypothetically, if I were to smoke in rentals, I could tell you exactly what I would do hypothetically. This episode brought to you by... No, no, no, no, no, no. But before we get started, there needs to be a disclaimer, right?
That's a disclaimer. Right. The fact of the matter is... The events and things discussed on the Cigar Hustlers podcast are not actual or real.
The names have been changed to protect the innocent. Now, the disclaimer is, if you don't want to run the risk of smelling like smoke in your car, then don't smoke in your car. You know? Right.
I'm not here to separate marriages or cause any rifts in the system. Yeah, 'cause I smoke in my car, but we don't smoke in my wife's car. Right. Unless she's had a couple of drinks, and then she still has a cigar to finish, and it's time to leave.
I'm not. Right, exactly. If you're going to smoke in a rental, you better be prepared to pay the smoking fee. You might get the cleaning fee, like $250,000 or something.
So, you know, it varies, I guess, by company by company. But that's my disclaimer. Now, here's how you smoke in a car without it being detected. For the most part.
For the most part. This, by no way, is a 100% foolproof method, so don't be sending us no cleaning bills. It's like pulling out. Like, oh, Mikey said you don't have to.
Okay. So, let's talk first and foremost. Let's talk about, but, okay, number one, is there like a step process? I got a couple things.
There's a couple things. How many steps are involved in this process? Um, I don't know, but we need to talk about the vehicle in itself. Okay.
Here are the best things. The things you look for in a rental car. Or things you look to have in a vehicle. Oh, to buy, okay.
Let's say you own your own car, and if you're saying, hey, I want to smoke it, If you have leather, that's a plus, right? Is it really leather doesn't hold as well as a fabric? It's much easier to wipe off. Oh yeah, if you're wiping, okay, I can see the wiping.
I was just looking for an absorption thing. Now, yeah, but like I think it's... Because I've worn like a leather jacket to a bar and you come out and it smells like cigarette smoke. But you can wipe it all down?
Nah, just hang it outside until the air's out. Right. Yeah. Sure.
It works. The sunroof is also really nice. Yeah, because it evacuates the smoke faster. Right, the more air flow you have coming in that, the better.
So, I'm a huge fan of a sunroof. Do you need to get that? Oh, it's just messages. No.
I thought it was ringing. Now, when you're smoking, when you light up the cigar in your car, you've got to turn off your AC. Oh, because then you're not circulating the smoke back through. What if you left the air on but had outside air brought in where you're not recirculating?
No, you don't want any smoke getting into the filters of the car. But if you're bringing in outside air, does it recirculate still? I could tell you what works for me. I'm just asking questions.
I could tell you that if you keep the AC off, you won't smell smoke when you turn it back on. Okay, I have a question. Raise my hand. I am considerably older than you.
Yes. Was that filter in or under the glove box always part of the automobile? Or is that a new feature? I have no idea.
I've never looked. Because back when I was younger, you'd go to one of those, you know, five-minute oil changes or whatever it is. They didn't pull that filter. But now they always pull that filter and they go, "Oh, look, this is dirty.
" So somewhere, there's somebody figured that's in there and we forgot to check it and that's a bump we could charge people for? They probably added it later and said we need to incorporate it. Or is it something that got included in cars as we became more health conscious? Always wondered that.
Only some of us are health conscious. So no AC. No AC. So if it's 95 degrees out, you've got to make a decision.
Hold on, for those of you at home writing these steps down, first you have to have a leather. Two is a sunroof. Three, no AC. No AC running when you're smoking.
Alright, and windows down, which would go with the sunroof, obviously. But we want to make sure everybody gets these things right. Okay, next step. So, is there a certain type of cigar you should or shouldn't smoke?
No, man, you smoke your cigar, you enjoy your cigar. What if you're a cigarette smoker? Cigarettes are a little tougher. Yeah.
They're a little bit... The smell's stronger. Yeah. Yeah.
Okay, we'll just take the cigars since this is the... Same with weed. Oh, damn. Don't smoke weed in the car.
That's gonna be tough. That'll be tough, right. We do not condone the smoking of weed here at Cigars. Well, I can say that I am not a marijuana professional nor cigarette professional.
However, I do smoke a lot of cigars. Yes. So. Well, it's in the name of the show.
Right. Okay, so now, when you get to your destination. Yeah, so I've gone all week. Let's just paint a picture here for the people at home.
Okay. Okay, I've been on the road for a week. All right. I landed in, let's say, Dallas.
I rented my car, leather interior. Oh, it's a rental. It's a rental. Landed in Dallas, rented my car, I look around.
Leather. Great. Okay, leather, sunroof, check. Okay, we're good.
Windows go down, good. Air, I don't care, I'm turning it off. Right. Okay, so I'm driving the week across Texas.
I end up in Arizona. That should be about a week. I've smoked three to four cigars a day in this vehicle. Okay.
Okay? So I'm filling up the gas by the airport to drop it off, and now what do I do? Okay, so you've got to back up a step, because there's got to be a cut-off time. You need, like...
" As you toss it out the window, I go, "Op! Nope! " So you've got to give yourself a window here. Well, we rolled the windows down.
Yeah, but I'm talking about maybe five or six hours at least. Okay, so maybe the morning of, you don't light one up as you leave the hotel. Right. Going to the airport.
Right. Okay, so I smoked up till the night before. I pull into the hotel, I've had a couple of drinks, I get my life cigar burning. You've got quite the life, Michael.
It's a six by 60. I mean, it's a big cigar I'm smoking here. All right. And I dropped a little ash in my lap because of the drinking.
And that's what we're going to talk about next. So then I pull up outside the hotel. What do I do now? It's midnight, it's dark, the crickets are chirping, you're at the Motel 6 where Tom Bodette left the light on for you.
Well, if that's happening to you, then you need to question your life as a whole. The hookers are knocking on your door. Hello? Where are you, amigo?
Because you're in Arizona. They're Mexican. You're in Arizona. Okay, now what do I do?
So now, the next step is you gotta remove trace evidence, right? Right. So now I gotta find an all-night car wash. No.
How am I gonna get the eye shadow to see? I will tell you as long as you let me talk. Do you carry that small Dyson with you when you travel? No.
No. I carry wipes. Uh, like baby wipes? You can do like baby wipes or like the little Clorox wipes to come in a little packet.
They come in a little packet. Oh, like for stain removal on your clothing? Like a little clean-up stuff, right? Okay.
So, you know, you wipe down your seat. What about Armor All Wipes would be good if they're leather seats? Yeah, sure. They'd be slippery in the morning.
Whatever you want to do. Wipes. I've heard you could also use, like, dryer sheets. No.
No. No. Because they're not wet. We need to pick up any evidence.
So I think we're back to the all-night car wash, because then you get the vacuum. No. I don't have that kind of time in my life. Okay.
I got the packet of wipes. You got the packet of wipes. As soon as you're ready to hear that. All right, you're at the wipes.
I'm just, you know, looking for options here. So, nope, just packet of wipes. So you got the packet of wipes. Hashtag packet of wipes.
Hashtag packet of wipes. This episode is sponsored by Clorox. Sponsored by Clorox. Clorox packet of wipes.
All right, so you wipe down your seat, obviously. Oh, great idea. Wipes particularly made for cigar residue. That's great.
So, anyways, here are the important parts, right? Do I have to wipe down the entire car? No. Like I have fingerprints from a crime scene?
Nope. Just the seat I sat in where I was smoking? I'm not done explaining it to you. Well, that's why I'm asking questions.
You shouldn't have to ask questions because I'm about to tell you. Well, then I could just shut up and you can do this show by yourself if I'm not allowed to talk. But then I'll miss you. Well, I'm still over here moving buttons and dials.
Okay. Anyway, go ahead. We're at the Wipes. So what's important is that you hit every single spot that wouldn't be obvious to you, right?
So... Center console. Center console is very important. Floor mats.
Your cup holders. Cup holders. Super important, right? You've been ashing in your coffee cup that you had for Monday.
If you have like the center shaft thing where it goes... Shifter. Yeah, the shifter from park to drive or whatever. I always recommend cleaning it in park, putting it in drive, with your brake on, and then cleaning the front portion.
Ooh, it's a lot of work. It really isn't. And it's worth it. Put it back in park, clean the, clean, you know, obviously around your...
Do you make Hunt do this when you guys travel together? Around your floor mats, I don't smoke in my rental cars. Oh, I'm sorry, if you did smoke, like in the videos that I've seen where you guys are dancing down the car... Hypothetically speaking, teamwork makes a dream work.
So, you want to clean the floor mats, like around the edges normally is where the ash tends to sit, but here's one that everybody misses. Uh-oh, pay attention. The steering column. Oh, because you're holding it in your hand as you're steering.
Correct. You can't see me, but I'm doing the... So your steering column tends to get some there. Oh, like the base of it so it falls over the top.
Right, and then wipe down the dash. What the hell? Who do you rent from that has a crime scene unit coming in dusting these cars as you leave? Not only--I'm just ignoring that question.
They're lucky if I pick up the McDonald's wrappers out of the back seat. Now, not only--you can leave those there. That's perfectly fine. This car--look at this car.
It's miraculously clean. Smells wonderful. But look at the shit of the food wrappers out of the back seat. Now, you've covered the interior, right?
You check the back seat. If there's any ash, you just wipe it off real quick. No big deal. This also works if you, by chance, have killed someone in the car or you kidnapped somebody on your trip across Texas.
No, man, those blood stains, they don't come out. Well, I assumed you had some of that light-up stuff you spray with the black light. So, the exterior of the car, there are portions that you need to consider as well. You're wiping down the exterior of the car, too?
I'm only hitting a couple spots. This is a lot of work. How much is that? $250?
$250? Because you're like $500 worth of work here so far. Okay, that's how you feel. How many wipes do you go through?
Not a lot. All right, I'm wiping down the car handles, I'm guessing, on the outside. No, not the car handles, but, like, if you ever flick your ash out the window... You're in the window slot now.
You're right at that column, you'll see, like, a white streak from the ash. So you just gotta wipe that off. Holy shit, that's a lot of work. It's not that hard.
Do you have to wipe down the tires, just in case you might have run over your cigar you threw out when you pulled into the place? See, like, I feel like, you know, here I am supporting you on everything. I'm supporting you, I'm just... And you're just pooping all over this.
I'm not pooping. I'm dragging this out. We're at 23 minutes here, and we're still doing good. Dude, 23 minutes is fine.
Even if we turn it off right now, it'd still be good. Right? Keep going. You have more notes.
Because we're still not there. We're still not there yet. We're still not there. Another thing that I like to carry is oseum.
You know what oseum is? Yeah, the spray. So oseum is the air spray that you spray in the car. Does it have an odor?
I've never used it. " That's kind of weird, I wonder what the guy did in here. You can get ones that. Scentless?
Yeah. What about one of those candles? Can I get one of those candles and put it in the car and let it burn all night long? No, because here's the thing, there's a couple spots where I want you to spray.
You know, just shh, just hose down the car. Right, you can spray a little bit on the floor mats and stuff like that, but you don't have to go balls deep in this thing, right? However, even though you did not use DAC, I recommend spraying in the vents. Into the vent hole?
Every single one of them, or just one? Just hit the front four. Do you turn it, no you couldn't turn it on because it wouldn't go in, it'd be blowing out. Yeah, just spray it real quick and then you can turn it on afterwards.
Do I need to like pull out the filter for the air conditioner and spray that too? No. No, not that excessive. What about the headliner?
Nope. No? Nothing. Because that's where all the smoke would settle, you would think.
No, nobody's sniffing the ceiling. But if they sit down, I mean... Look, you spray a couple times, spray it in the air, you can turn on your air at that point because you're not smoking. It's going to circulate nice fresh air in your car.
That's a lot of work. That's a lot of work. And it's like never ever happened. These are the things, these are the sacrifices, cigar smoking.
So nothing in the backseat? You check the back. But you wipe it down because you're driving with the windows down and the sunroof, ash could blow in the backseat. Always check the back.
Always check the back. I said check the back. Hashtag always check the back. Hashtag, yeah.
For kids too. Hashtag bring the wipes. Hashtag always check the back. Yeah.
And then you drop off your car if you're renting or you pull into your garage. If it's my own car, I don't think I'm going to this much trouble. It's just a question of what you use your car for. Let's say, you know, if you have a car where you have a bunch of clients that jump into the car, you don't want to smell like smoke, right?
Oh, yeah. I guess you have a point. Well, then you're probably going to go get it professionally cleaned if you're taking clients around in your car. What if you have the audible last minute?
It's easy to do. It's easy to avoid. I think a lot of work. I'm up to like 3 o'clock in the morning now after I pulled in at midnight with my 6x60 cigar and my 45-ounce beer.
The run time for the clean should be about 10 minutes, maybe 15. That's a 15-minute process, everything you just said? If that, yeah. Because there's two of you.
No, sometimes if you go solo. I think a lot of work. 10 minutes, you're fast. I'm a professional.
It seems like you might be a little haphazard with your cleaning if you're doing it in 10 minutes. Definitely not. No? Never had a hypothetical problem.
Yeah, I was going to say, not that you would need to, but you've never had an issue. Exactly. Oh. Except now, all the rental companies listen to this show, I've heard, so now they're all going to ding you.
I never said that, I smoked them one. They're going to be looking. They're going to be looking. They're going to bring out the test drift for the Osium and the Clorox wipes, and then touch everything in the car.
" And this is... Oh, don't ruin Fred, he's got a new travel show evidently coming up. The guy's living the life. He is.
Living the life. He is. I want to see him sleep in that little trailer behind his Jeep. Have you seen a picture of his new trailer?
Well, you've got to let everybody know, for one, who is Fred Rui? Nomad Cigars, right? No, not anymore. Formerly of.
Formerly of. Sold his company. But he still kept the Nomad name for his new company. Nomad Adventures, Nomad Travels.
Nice. I don't know, something like that. It's not like this ridiculously expensive looking camper thing. Yeah, exactly.
It looks, uh, but it looks small. He's a tall man. He is tall. So, whew.
And if he gets a rental car, he's the guy who's telling you the story right now. Exactly. Thank you, Fred, for coming on the show today. Appreciate you coming in.
Taking time from your travels, trips to Cuba. And, um, that's all I got. Where, where are you going to be anywhere this week? I'm heading down to Fort Myers this week, my son's got a thing on Tuesday, it's family day, he's going to be a firefighter, so when this airs, I will actually be in Fort Myers, so Tuesday night, him and his other fire buddy, he's going to put out a fire and I get to watch.
Nice, well this Friday I'm going to be in Memphis, Tennessee. What day do you leave? The 19th, that Friday. Oh, Friday.
This Friday. What are we going to do by next week? I don't know, we'll have to figure that out. So we'll be back Wednesday night, so you're gonna be here Thursday?
Yeah, we'll figure it out. All right, we can do something Thursday before you leave on Friday. So I'm going to be at Tinderbox. Tinderbox.
Not smoking in the car as you drive there. Exactly. Exactly. Why would you want to do that?
You just smoke when you get to Tinderbox. That sounds silly. Because it's a lovely place. I'm sure they have plenty of smoking areas available.
Of course. Right. Well, they're doing like a multi-vendor event thing and I'm covering for Rosales and the Romo Craft Squad. So we're gonna put, uh, no, Danny's got something going on or something.
Oh. So I- So you're doing the whole Roma Craft? Well, yeah, they're putting my stuff on the table, too, apparently, but I am the delegated slapdick for the day. Oh.
Wow. Teamwork makes a dream work, baby. Hunt's going with you? No, I tried.
He's gonna be somewhere else. Uh, his island. It's a lot funner when you have a buddy with you. Oh, sure.
Traveling by yourself doesn't have fun all of them. Well, I was going to say that, but. No, traveling by yourself sucks. It does.
It does. Travel by yourself sucks. The only difference is you can listen to audio books. Like, when I travel by myself?
I try to find different podcasts, but I can't find one that I like enough to listen to everything. Yeah. So it's just random stuff. Couldn't even tell you what the last ones were.
T. Oh, yeah, evidently now I'll be listening to him this week because I drive down. Good stuff. Punta Gorda, Sarasota, Fort Myers, and might go down to Naples, go to Byrne.
Go to Bern? I don't know. Nice. Yeah.
All right. Well, I think that concludes this podcast. We need 50 more seconds. Why?
Because then it's 30 minutes exactly. Oh, you know what time to put the bumpers on? We're good. We're killing it.
All right, everybody, thanks for listening. Remember now, if you're going to kidnap someone or run over them in your car, this could also be used for that. Possibly. Maybe not.
We're not saying it is. If you have any questions regarding this, what you want to do is you want to reach out to, my name is Fred Rui on Facebook. Formerly of Nomads Cigars. Formerly of Nomads Cigars.
We appreciate you coming in, Fred. And that's it. It's always a pleasure seeing you. All right.
Thanks for having me. Wait. How about a quick update? Update on what?
Oh, go ahead. Tell us. Tell me. We are over 6,000 downloads.
Hey. Hey. And this past week, we actually had our second highest download, 89, we had this Tuesday. Nice.
That's just Podbean. You can't track the other things. And we're on so many different things now. Who knows?
I don't know. Any exotic countries? Well, you kind of ruined it for me when we found out why it's happening. Anybody you know been in the Netherlands?
We showed up in the Netherlands. Not to my knowledge. No? Yeah.
But now it's America, Great Britain, and it was Australia, but now it's somebody else. I can't remember who it was. Austria? No, not Austria.
Australia dropped one. We're not big in Nicaragua. They've got too much going on now. But Dominican Republic, our numbers are up in Dominican Republic.
Well, Skip is now back there, so I'm sure it'll pop back up. Oh, see, you know, I figured it was him probably listening, because there's not a tremendous amount of listeners in Nicaragua, it's double digits, but we have, this is either, I mean, you gotta figure him, well, this is either episode 39 or 40, and there's like 22 downloads in that country. Yeah. So he must hit and miss which episodes.
He's been slacking. He's been slacking, but we try to mention his name at least once every episode. So, Mr. Martin, we appreciate you listening, sir.
All right. All right, guys, thanks for listening. Thank you. Bye-bye.

Because it's a project. An experiment, we're in it. Only it's objects. An object for us to explore our prospects.
