Episode 94 Tobacco News Hates Our Ideas, Cigars are not in their Happy Place, Danny scolds Mikey

Episode 94 Tobacco News Hates Our Ideas, Cigars are not in their Happy Place, Danny scolds Mikey

Episode Summary

Episode 94 of A Cigar Hustler's Podcast opens with Mike Palmer owning up to a comment from two episodes earlier that rubbed the RoMa Craft Tobac sales team the wrong way — an offhand line about "a couple of guys in the office making phone calls" that came off as demeaning inside-sales work. Rather than let it fester, the hosts replay the clip and then call RoMa Craft's Danny Vasquez live on the air for the show's first real phone interview.

The resulting conversation is one of the more substantive looks at cigar sales you'll hear on a podcast. Vasquez argues that an hour of face time in a shop compresses six months of phone calls — you build relationships not just with the decision-maker but with employees and customers on the floor, and you can see how your product is merchandised in the humidor. Mike counters that with 200+ accounts, social media, text, and a well-run phone program let you reach more people per day, and that the "perfect storm" shop where the owner, staff and customers are all already RoMa fans is maybe 20% of retailers. Vasquez also breaks down what actually made him better at the job: product knowledge, personality, taking good notes on each account, and using production/inventory data from Skip Martin to anticipate shortages and back-orders on lines like Brotherly Kindness and the limited editions. Both agree that the real takeaway is that inside sales is anything but easy.

The news block covers Altria exploring a sale of Nat Sherman International (the non-cigarette premium cigar and pipe tobacco side of the business), Nick Melillo's new event-only Foundation Cigar Company five-pack, the Grasshopper — two San Andrés-wrapped cigars, two Candela, and one barber pole, over a Jalapa Corojo binder with Estelí, Condega and Jalapa filler, made at the TABSA factory and named from a 1914 Carl Werner tobacco textbook — and La Flor Dominicana's 1,000-piece limited edition Andalusian Bull ashtray, which prompts a reminder that LFD makes plenty of great cigars you can actually buy, like the Colorado Oscuro No. 5 and the Chisel.

The hosts then run the full Tobacco Business Awards nominations list, noting that none of their own episode 90 picks made the ballot, and predict winners in every category from Dominican, Nicaraguan and Honduran Cigar of the Year to Boutique Cigar, Tobacconist, Chain, Entrepreneur, Woman of the Year and the Legacy Award. They close with a podcast rejection letter from a "work from your happy place" show that decided cigars don't align with its brand, listener questions, and Danny Vasquez as Listener of the Week.

Welcome to episode 94, Michael.

Yay. Of Cigar Hustler Podcast, six away from the big 100. Well, I've got to be honest. This might be our last podcast ever.

Uh-oh. We have – we have – We're being sued? We have upset the Romacraft family. All of them?

No, just the Salesforce. All of – oh, wait. Not production? John and Danny, yeah.

Just those two. Oh, oh. I don't think it's the last one. But, hey, you know, I mean, apparently – I don't know how this is going to play out.

It's pretty interesting, you know. Okay, I know nothing about what you're talking about. Right, so, yeah, I can't tell you these things unless we're on the air, obviously. Exactly, exactly.

So, first of all, now, I had, so this happened two episodes ago. What happened was? Two episodes? Yeah, so two episodes ago, we were talking about La Polina and Room 101.

Was that two? Yeah, yeah, it was two episodes ago. Okay, two episodes ago. And apparently, Danny's been very upset about this.

Because he worked for La Polina? It's been sitting on him for quite some time, and he's like, you know... He has not said anything to me. And so, I don't know, maybe I didn't, I wasn't clear.

clear maybe i maybe that that's the case that could very well be the problem here i it's i don't know man it's crazy so i want to make sure that terrible this is terrible he made a comment to me saying you know well um you think being in the office is easy i was like i didn't say that i didn't say that anything he goes yes you did you said easy i'm like no i'm pretty sure i didn't so anyways before i pick a side where is skip fall on this whole thing i have no idea you you fall you support I support Skip, doesn't matter what happened. Okay, so, but, you know, here's my thoughts. Yes. We're gonna play the clip, right?

We're gonna play the clip. Okay. Yes. By the way, you sound great on the podcast.

Yeah, I mean, you sound like a ray of sunshine, and sometimes I don't sound great, so I gotta work on it. No, if you know, we've been getting a lot of feedback lately how only one of us seems to really know what they're doing. Clearly that's you. Apparently, it's me.

Yeah, no, you do. You sound very professional, and I don't. And you're very excited, and I'm not, so I'm gonna fix that. Welcome to Orlando.

This is Mike Palmer from the Cigar Hustler Podcast. Yeah. We're the destination capital of the world. So, okay, so let's get right into this.

We're gonna play the clip. Play the clip. And then we're gonna call Danny. Alright.

And we're just gonna let, I'm gonna let him pummel me on our own podcast. Oh, live pummeling? Yeah, live pummeling. Okay, alright.

Hold on, we're not gonna stop the camera. Okay. We are gonna just switch the audio real quick, so hold on. Go ahead.

He's been checking in on people, you know, it's hard, it makes things more difficult when you have to pay an entire team, and you force sales on retailers, and I don't know, I don't know, I mean, it should be, hopefully it's good for him, you know, hopefully he'll sell some product. I mean, you know, he's been a name in the industry forever, right? Okay. Okay.

Okay. Hold on, hold on now, we're gonna go back again. Okay, go ahead. Okay.

So, I don't know, I mean, like, I was giving the ultimate compliment to the guys in the Roamacraft office. I think it was some reference to just a couple of guys in the office making phone calls. Like, he made it sound a little demeaning. Yeah, and I guess that's how he took that.

Yes. But, but there's nothing- Very aggressive, anyway. But what's funny is there's nothing easy about what we do. Whether you're, and it's even worse if you're on the road.

Like, I mean, we've stated that a bajillion times, right? Maybe that's where the problem is. He thinks that you're saying that it's too easy for them because they're just sitting there in the office making phone calls. But it's not.

It's definitely not. Too late now, Michael. He already said it. I didn't mean it that way.

It's out there for everyone. I didn't mean it that way. Turn up all the way? Yeah, let's turn up all the way.

Now we're calling Danny. Get this solved. Once and for all. He's not going to answer.

I love the new camera angle by the way. It's fantastic. What's going on? There he is.

Danny, you're on the air. You're the fourth caller. You've won the prize. He's very excited.

He's very excited. Say the phrase it pays and we'll send you a new car. So... What's up?

Mr. Vasquez on the phone. Don't look at me, Michael. You're the one that dug this over.

So here we are. So here we are. We're living our best life. I feel like I'm fighting with my family.

It's like, you know, it's brother versus brother. He's a little older than me, so... I love it. So, you...

Let him talk, Michael. He's not even going to get a word in it. Hold on, I'm going to set the premises. Hold on, just like me.

So, we just played the clip. So, now that's on record. Okay, I just want to kind of get your thoughts on it, because, you know, and after you kind of pummeled me to death, which I'm perfectly fine with, maybe I can give some clarity into my statement. It did come across a little crass, which wasn't my intention at all.

A little demeaning, a little demeaning. But you have the floor, Mr. Danny Danger. All right.

Well, first, I'm going to say what's up to all the listeners. Love the podcast. Long time listener, first time caller. No, so, as you heard in the clip, right, and here's the thing where I was kind of on, I'm just kind of trying to talk you into you talking bad about yourself.

But if you got, if you have an explanation, then obviously it's a new point, but my point is it sounded like to me and to others in the office and other people that I kind of shared it to was like, geez, I just want to know if I was crazy, but it just made it sound like it was an easy thing to do, to, to do sales and, you know, build relationships over the phone, or, you know, it's an easy thing to do, to do sales and, you know, build relationships over the phone, or, you know, it's an easy thing to do, to do sales and build relationships over the phone, or, you know, it's an easy thing to do, to do sales and, you know, build relationships over the phone, right? It's so easy, a monkey could do it. Right. I think he used those exact words.

Pretty much. So it was like, you know, it's like, so they have a couple of guys making a few phone calls. Right. Oh, that's exactly what he said.

That's verbatim. That's an exact quote. No, that's exactly what he said. So it was just like, it was like, oh, you know, it's not that simple, right?

right no not at all i'm calling i'm calling you to get your two thousand dollar your five thousand dollar order right okay cool and i write it down and then i go away right um now when i was saying that to you it was also like it's like hey man you're kind of demeaning yourself because if that's the model you're building don't make it seem like it's that simple because i know you know it's not right it's definitely not um but i know that people listening was like oh yeah they must have it pretty easy yeah why doesn't everybody why doesn't everybody do this i mean i think if you If you listen to the show a lot, you'll understand that it's definitely not easy. Yeah, I don't know. For sure. You know, that said, now I think where you and I kind of started going back and forth was my contention that it is easier and/or you can build a relationship faster by being in front of somebody for an hour at a time, a month, as opposed to a 5, 10, you know, heaven forbid, 15-minute phone call.

Right. Or if it's Ronnie and Haisha, you know, it's an hour and 15 minutes every time. At least. We love St.

Chris Hill. Yeah. That said, so, and you know, you and I kind of went back and forth there. So like, for me, it's like, I can compress six months of calls into maybe two visits.

And not only could I build a relationship with the owner and/or manager and the other employees that are there that I would never talk to, right? If I don't go into the shop, I'll never talk to the employee unless he answers the phone. I'll say, "Hey, what's up? " I'll take that note.

"How you doing? " Is so-and-so there because that's really who makes the decision. I need to speak to the decision-maker. " And he's a huge Roma guy.

" So now I can give Slappy a little bit of attention and give him some time and say, "Hey, man. Thanks for the love. Here's some cigar, here's a cigar, whatever, uh, you know, if I have stickers and patches, whatever, give it to that guy. Now I can fortify my relationship with the employees as well, not just the decision maker, right?

Sometimes the decision maker, and you know, this is he's decision making, but he's doesn't necessarily mean he's in the humidor or on the floor or dealing directly with customers, right? But that employee is and does and what he may smoke Roma and then what guys are watching him smoke, you know, and if I can build that relationship with him in person, Right. Well, now I built a relationship with two or three people. On top of that, the customers that are there, anytime I go into a shop, there's customers there, and they're smoking Roma, and I've kind of gave the decision-maker whatever their time, I turn my attention to the customers, right?

And this is not an event, I'm just talking about a shop visit, and then I can do the same thing with them, and talk to them, and ask them, and bullshit with them, find out their kids, and this and that, and joke, you know, like I do. Right. So, so, is the way we do it better? Yeah.

But, you know, we have, there's a bigger opportunity, and you can fortify that much faster, I believe, in person. Not that it can't be done. I mean, we're doing it. Obviously, we're doing it.

Um, but if, again, you know, it's just, that was, that was really just my kind of argument with this. Right. I could build a quicker, bigger, and broader relationship in every store if I visited every store. And that's where we disagree.

Yeah. Faster, right? So, yeah, but you, so you could build a relationship with, like, it's hard for me to build a relationship in your store, for instance, with anyone other than you. Right.

Like, if I didn't know you this way... Well, I mean, they just come in, the employees just fucking come and go. They just come and go here, so, I mean, they're not... No sense of getting to know anybody.

They don't stick around long. That's a me problem. Slappy, by chances, the next one who's disappearing will be leaving. Yeah.

Right. So, I think, and here's the other thing, you're the caveat, right? You're the shop owner, brand owner, slash, and a distributor. Right.

Right, so. I'm the anomaly. You are not the typical shop. Mm-hmm.

So, you know. Right. But, anyway. But that kind of, that, okay, keep going.

You got anything else? No, go ahead. We'll go back. Okay, because that kind of, alright, so now, you know, that kind of, now that you've really mapped out and painted your picture, first of all, thank you for your time, I appreciate you coming out and being on the show, on the phone, I know this is a phone call.

Everybody listens to Salt and the Smoke. You know, everybody listens to Salt and the Smoke. Danny checks in every once in a while on Salt and the Smoke. No, I'm just kidding.

But no, it's a good show, and Danny's a host on there. Intricate part of the operation. Yeah, he's a major factor. Stupid.

Okay, so… Carries the entire show. Here's the downfall to what you're saying. Now, the first thing is, as far as getting in touch with people via other employees that work at shops, and consumers that smoke RoMa Craft, or, you know, for me, you know, obviously, the other Nika Sueno products that I represent, I can contact those people and they can find me via social media, and I can cultivate and build the relationships with those people through those streams, right? That's a major part.

That's kind of how I built my entire business, right? I totally agree with you that going and seeing people from time to time is very beneficial. It definitely helps in a relationship. You kind of get to sit down and shoot the shit.

And it is cool to see employees smoking or consumers smoking inside the store. But the one part of the equation that you're not really indicating is that the amount of people that are not willing to get into the store. The amount of stores that are going to have that perfect storm scenario where your employee is smoking Roma, the consumers are smoking Roma, and the dude behind the register is a huge Roma fan, is a major anomaly. Maybe 20% of your overall retailers.

And the reason why I'm saying that is because a lot of retailers fucking suck. So if you're, if you're going to go see, let's say you go on the road and for three days, you see five accounts for each day, right? That's 15 stores, right? Right.

And let's say, you know, you're, you're, you're doing it where you're seeing one or two stores that are Roman, then you're going to see three other stores that aren't right. So, you know, there's a highly great chance that you're not going to build any relationship with those dudes that are in those other stores, right? The non Roma stores. Right.

Because they don't give a shit about you anyways, like, that guy behind the register is a complete slapdick, he wants to sell his mainstream bullshit, and he doesn't care about his consumers, probably has a jar on the register, doesn't, you know, like, put the money in, you know, like that type of, we've seen that shit, you know what I mean? So, you know, I could do more damage and build better relationships, calling 30 people in one day, instead of going to see five stores, and owning 30 people in one day. And there's only two of those, and that's a, that's a genuine, you know, a generous number, being successful, right? I think that this is where, where we kind of, it kind of kept spinning.

So I'm not saying that you're incorrect with that this is the right way of doing it, right? We are doing it the right way. I agree. And that, and that was exactly what I was trying to convey.

And it definitely came off the wrong fucking way. What my, my thing is, it is, it is not easy, right? And the reason why it's not easy for me on my side is because, okay, and I've gotten a lot better, myself, John, Mike, we're good at what we do now, but I could see people struggling with it, and this is kind of my warning of like, hey, if you're a sales rep, keep doing it your way, because it takes a while. But it does take a while for me to build that trust over the phone with a particular store, right, for whatever that is, right, so I call, hey, how you doing, Danny, oh, Danny, cool, I need this, hey, bro, I got this, we don't have this, put this on back order and we'll get it for you, this and that, like, oh, cool, you know, I appreciate that, so now, boom, one positive interaction there in a 10-minute phone call, right?

Right. And then I will call him three weeks later, a month later, whatever, for whatever, the next visit or, you know, whatever it is, right? So now, so that's, if you take total time, that's 20 minutes that I've spoken to this guy and he may have, you know, and I'm hoping to have another positive interaction, right? Right.

So now, but really that's, that's now 30 days have gone by. Right. For 20 minutes, right? So what I mean is like, I could build a relationship faster, not better per se, but just faster, whether positive or negative relationship, right?

Faster in an hour sitting at the store and with three or four people at once. And, but you know, I'll go the opposite direction with what you're saying. Okay, I go into a store that doesn't really smoke Roma. Well, maybe when I get out of there after an hour, they do, right?

Okay. That, I mean, that's, you know, I don't think it happens sometimes, like that, but that's kind of, but either way, that's kind of my job. So even if it happens, you know, three out of 10 times, well, that's 300 in baseball, I'm hall of fame. Right.

So it's like, it's not going to happen everywhere, but if it's going to happen somewhere, it could happen. Like, Hey, you know, bro, this is the, we actually own the factory. Oh, dude, I didn't know that. Like, oh, cool.

Back and forth. Sure. Now, now that, so what I mean is it can still be done in its, in its, in its, in its way, in its way. And it obviously is being done because we do it, but that's why when we go travel, when we go do events, it's important for us to get to go visit our current accounts, right?

Of course. And we focus on those because those shop visits are very, very important, right? And then I can actually speak intelligently of what their humidor looks like on the next phone call, how our product is set up on the next phone call. I think that that's another, I think that may be the biggest disadvantage is I can't see the shelf, really, unless they send me a picture, right?

But a lot of reps can go in and be like, "Oh, this looks like shit. Cool. " I'll open bundles and fill it for you because, like you said, there's a lot of slapdicks. So I'll fill it for you and da-da-da-da-da.

Right. But there's good people out there too that look out for you because you've established relationships with them. And you don't need to have that relationship in person. So, all right, so I have two questions for you real quick.

Okay, so between the three week time of you calling one person and then you calling them again, have you, do you have any other correspondence with those people via social media, via text, or anything whatsoever? It depends on the shop. Right. I mean, it, um, you know, some do, like I try to follow all of my accounts on social media.

Right. I can see which, I can see which guys are doing it right, which guys are need help, which guys aren't doing it at all. Right. I try to engage those guys to follow me so that they don't have to call me and ask me a lot of questions.

Just look at what we post about limited editions and BACA and this and that and that. And so maybe if there is something going to go out to them on an order that was on back order and there was a shipment, I try to call them and give them a heads up. But frankly, no. I mean, if I got their order and then it got shipped that next day, it'd be three weeks before, So, three weeks to a month before I actually would really speak to them again, but I also have 200 plus other accounts, right?

Right. Like, just for myself, right? So, it kind of rolls through. Now, I do have some shops that I talk to once a week, and it's just the nature of the view.

You, right? Like, I talk to you, I don't know, five times a week. Yeah, we talk a lot. So, yeah, I mean, that's part of it, right?

But some shops, you're never going to be able to build that relationship because that's not their personality. They're just like, I don't care if you come here or don't or whatever. I just want cigars and whatever. I'm not a talking on the phone kind of guy.

And I give him that props too. I'm like, okay, cool. We're up. I'm going to ask you a question.

We're going to go to break real quick. So I'm going to give you enough time to kind of think about it and then you can respond real quick. So we've got to shut it down and we'll turn it back on. But my question to you is, you know, you just said that you've gotten better at kind of overall sales, and really, you're doing a better job of finding your footing, and I totally agree with that.

What do you think has changed that has made you become better at the overall scheme of things, all right? Okay. So that's your question. We're going to go to break, and we'll be right back.

All right, we'll be right back. com/cigarhustlerspodcast, become part of the show, pick which tier works best with your budget. We appreciate the support. Thank you.

By the way, I just drank the second of the 20-ounce Rebels. Today. In the same day? No, I drank one yesterday.

Oh, okay. All right. All right, well, we're back now with Danny Vasquez of Romacraft Tobac. All right, so do you remember the question?

Should I ask you again? For somebody who just came into the show, Mike, I want you to say that question again. Yeah, ask for the new guys. Okay, so for the people that like to come in, the commercials are great, by the way, I listened to some of them, they're amazing, yeah, you're fantastic, so, you know, as you were saying before, that you've really kind of gotten better at overall sales, and you know, you're definitely finding your footing, you know, now that you've been there a little bit longer, what do you think has changed that has made you a better salesman?

So, evolution, right? Like, and you're put into a position of like, hey, this is how we do it. And it's sink or swim, right? It's not, it's, for me personally, like, as far as my personality goes, right?

So, whether you know where I kind of started in the industry or not, I, you know, I was that guy going store to store and, you know, talking to shop owners face to face. So then coming here where it's like, no, it's over the phone, thankfully I, you know, I have the personality where I'm kind of outgoing and I can speak to anybody. I didn't know that about you. Transitioning that into a sale was, was something that had to be learned fairly quickly, right?

Right. So that, just the, like, hey, this is how it's done and you're on the fire, learn, you know? So that's an evolution of yourself as a person in the industry. I think knowing your product, frontwards, backwards, upside down, inside out, knowing your company and what you're talking about, being passionate about your company and your product, coupled with your personality of making people be able to laugh and joke and being quick-witted also really, really helps.

I think the data that we get a lot from Skip, as far as, oh, I don't know, did you guys mention his name already? No. Yes, we did. Oh, did we?

Oh. Before the phone call to make sure what his side of the argument was. Oh, that's right. The data that we get as far as what, you know, what's coming from the factory and being able to know what's going to be 45 days out to two, you know, to a couple months out.

Right. And being able to say, "Hey, I know you do really good with, for you, like you, you do really good with brotherly kindness, right? If I got a shortage on brotherly kindness, I'm gonna make sure you got it on back order. If you don't have it on back order, I got a little bit, I say, "Hey, we got this.

" And like those little tidbits, those little notes that you take and those little takeaways from your conversation and being a decent note taker is, you know, a big part of it. Now, Rosales has shown me a lot since I've been here, right? So, you know, that's a big thing. Mike has a really good memory of, you know, this guy and that guy from this shop and that shop from this state from years ago.

Right. Oh, one time there, you know, it's like, oh, their brother did this and they had a kid and this person died and, you know, they have a dog. I'm like, oh, shit. Cool.

You know, which, by the way, he built a lot by being in those shops, just saying. But, you know, just being able to just evolve as yourself, like I'm a very fluid type of person, right? Like Bruce Lee would say, you know, you gotta be water, right? Like a water cup becomes a cup, right?

So it's like, I'm here, this is the way it is. All right, I'm going to adjust my personality style to be able to fit this style of sale, right? Right. And I, we, you know, you and I both know a lot of reps that are really, really great in person, or they're okay in person, but you put them on the phone, after a while, it probably wouldn't be their cup of tea, right?

Right. They'd be like, man, I just, it's not, it isn't for everyone. But I think, you know, a lot of that, you know, the support that you have here as far as the company goes and, you know, what you can talk about on top of just being able to, you know, Make yourself be good at it, right? And trying to make yourself good at it and working at it.

I think that's helped. So, I mean, I agree with you. I think all those points are extremely important, but I personally, when it comes to you, I think that your perspective has kind of changed, or it has definitely changed immensely. Not kind of, immensely changed.

You know, I think that learning those notes and kind of taking all that stuff down has really kind of defined you and you've learned more to go out of your way That's a great way to help those retailers, and that just develops the sale, right? If you think about the retailer and you learn what they need, then you're just helping them generate more income. If you're helping that person generate more income, your sales are gonna go up, right? Yeah, and especially if they understand that.

I have a lot of shops now, and even you, with this last limited edition kind of release we had, I didn't really talk to you about it, right? And I have a lot of shops like that, but I've built that relationship and trust where I'm just going to put the sales order in for them because I know them. Right. Right.

And, and, and I, that's something I learned from a lot of good reps around the country too. Well, like, you know, they would, they would say, Oh no, I'm really tight. I know they would need them. And I, and they'd put the order in and, uh, maybe, you know, maybe I'll get the call like, Hey, I saw this.

Was that you? And like, yeah, you know, I know that. I'm like, okay, great. You know, and they, and they, that's next level of kind of partnership.

Um, and like you're saying, customer service wise, right? Right, man, I, you know, I know this guy really does well. I can't get ahold of him because he's out of town or whatever. And you say, I'm going to do it and he can yell at me if he doesn't want it, I'll buy it back, but I know he would rather, I'd rather mess up on taking care of him than messing up not taking care of him.

Right, do you rather make sure that he got the LEs than you got a phone call two weeks later when he's like, hey, what's going on with this cigar and why does everybody else have it and I don't have it, you know? Yeah, yeah. No, I totally agree. So, I love you.

I just want you to know I love you. I love you. And I want you to know that I don't think your job is easy at all. I don't think, and you know, it did kind of sound that way when I made my previous statement.

Maybe I was tired or something, I don't know, but I definitely don't think. You're just always aggressive, Michael. Maybe. But I didn't sound aggressive.

I sounded tired. You're always cranky and aggressive. But, okay. Mike has been pretty aggressive over the last six, eight months.

Yeah. I'm gonna say that. You're saying? I don't know.

I don't know what to tell you. It's the working out. Yeah, that's what it is. Steroids.

It's all the steroids. If I was on steroids. We'd all be dead. I would have killed you with your new laptop.

I would have killed you with your new laptop. Hey, Red Bull does not make you aggressive. It just gives you wings. It gives me wings, it makes me float.

I know, and you know, and because I appreciate you, I wanted to make sure that you had Red Bull today. So, I made sure that that was covered. And I hope that John's thinking of me as he's getting in his sets. He's like, mmm, get this protein.

So I sent a care package to Roman just letting the sales force know that even though I'm not there in the store, I appreciate them. Well, there you go. So thoughtful. Yeah, it was great.

We appreciate it. So there you go. All right. Well, I feel better now.

I'm glad that we could work all that out. Oh, no. Absolutely. I love it.

And we appreciate you listening to the show. Yes. Thank you for your time, Danny. Appreciate you listening.

I appreciate you listening. Jamie said that you play it very loud, too, there, so thank you very much. Yeah, so I'm kind of screwing you out of listeners, because instead of them listening, I'm making everybody listen on one stream, but hey, it is. That's okay.

The last one you had to listen to, like, four times to get that quote right, so. Yeah, I did. Yes, got 'em. Numbers in Austin are way up, Michael.

Look at this. It's crazy. All right, I'll let you get back to work, brother. All right, thanks, Danny.

All right, Mike. Thanks. Bye-bye. Bye.

So there you go, Mr. Danny Vasquez. Danny Vasquez. Really, our first on-air interview.

Yeah, it wasn't really an on-air. A little bit. But it went well. Now that you've made up.

Something you need to handle? No, sorry. That's okay. I think it went really well.

With the wifey, I just want to make sure everything's okay. No, everything's okay. She bent down to pick something up in the parking lot this morning and she almost fell. She should have left it.

I offered to get it. " I would have just left it. Poor thing. Yeah.

Just can't wait for this baby to get here. Oh, I bet. Maybe that's what it is. Maybe that's what's my problem.

Is that it? I'm just anxiously waiting for this baby to come. Oh, frustrated and pent up. You know.

Need the baby. Need the baby. That's it. I don't know where to take the show from here.

I have some news. I think that was, you know, that was great. You know, I don't want to do, I don't want this show to be about interviews via the phone, but you know, you know, somebody's got a gripe. That was different, so it was interesting, and I don't, because the video is going to be dull, because we're just sitting here, we're not even moving while he's talking.

But that's kind of what we do, but I'm going, okay. Yeah, but when we're talking, they have something to look at. Oh, yes, you're Lenny approved. Talk about your shirt, can we see the shirt?

Yep, you can see the shirt. I'm officially Lenny approved. And you can't see it in the shot now, but Lenny is up on our no parking sign. He is parked on our no parking sign.

The Lenny approved sticker is in the house. We only had a Lenny Schmigel lighter put on the table. What the hell is that? Steve is vacuuming outside the door.

Oh, my Lord. Wow. Can you text for them to stop? I can handle that.

Stop vacuuming? All right. I'll start the news, then, while you're telling them to stop vacuuming. This sort of falls back on an article we were talking about a couple episodes ago.

Nat Sherman International, the company behind the Nat Sherman Cigars, Pipe, Tobacco & Brand New York Townhouse, is for sale, Michael. They decided to break it off as a separate hunk. They're selling the shop. Yes, Altria, which bought the company back in 2017, has announced that it is exploring a potential sale of Nat Sherman International, The entity that controls the non-cigarette Nat Sherman brands.

Uh-huh. Nat Sherman International is a terrific business, said Jessica. Why does people's last names have to be so hard? She's the managing director for Nat Sherman in a press release.

While we recognize the strength and value of the premium cigar business, it is not the core to Altria's tobacco portfolio. So we're exploring options for the sale. Interesting. Yes.

Yeah. Because a couple of weeks ago, they were going to sell it all as one big piece. And now they're just selling the premium cigars portion of it? Now, they're like, "You know what?

" Maybe that's what's holding up the- Cigarettes are just so much easier to sell. They're so much easier to sell. They're addictive. People have to have them.

Yeah. So, yes. Maybe the Davidoff people, now that you said we're going to buy it, won't buy them. So, we're on to my option.

But that's a different company, no? Now, no part of the same people? Oh, you know what? I'm running two together.

You're right. Yeah. Okay. Well, maybe they still will.

Who knows? Okay. All right. Our good friend, Nick Malello.

I mean, he's kind of our good friend. I haven't heard from him in like six months yet. He's still my friend. He's gone rogue.

He doesn't answer my calls. He's ghosting you again. He has a new event-only pack heading to Slug Foundation Company events. Oh, I saw that.

Did you see that? Yeah. The company has announced the Grasshopper, a five-pack of cigars that include two cigars with a Mexican San Andreas wrapper, two cigars with a Candela wrapper of undisclosed origin. But Nick, it could be anything.

Maybe those are the ones he found on the On that mountain in Jamaica. Uh huh. And one cigar with a barber pole combination of the two. Ooh.

That sounds interesting. But wait, there's more. Underneath those wrappers sits a Corojo binder, grown in Nicaragua-Jalapa region. Uh huh.

With fillers from the Esteli, Condega, and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua. Oh my goodness. , known as the Tabasa Factory? Tabasa?

I don't know how you say it. Sure. Everybody knows I can't pronounce a damn thing that's not in English. Okay.

Uh, so last, what, last year it was the Melanik? Is that how you say it? Yeah, the Menelik. Yeah, the Menelik.

That was the event cigar. The box by San Andreas, yeah. Right. Now it is the Grasshopper.

Oh. And there's five different cigars? Five different cigars. Wait, three, right?

Two, two, one. Five pack. Yeah. Five pack.

One Barber Pole, two San Andreas, two Candela. Right. Right. And then the Love Child's in the middle.

In the middle. In a press release, the company said that the project gets its name from its connection to tobacco and specifically an antique book called, of course, with Nick, it's some kind of antique book, a textbook on tobacco written by Carl Werner in 1914. That, Nicholas. In the book, Werner discusses the entomology of the word cigar and its linguistic origins in Spain.

In Spanish, the word "cigara" means "grasapa". Yep, yep, yeah. And the word evolved to "cigara" blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. All right.

All right, so that was... Congratulations. Congratulations to Nicholas. Congratulations to Nicholas.

If you would like to send Michael an empty box and tell him that there are some grasshoppers in it. Oh yeah, remember that one time he said, "Hey, I'm gonna send you those cigars," and he sent me a box of nothing? That would be very funny, very funny. I don't know, I still don't know what the hell happened.

I think he was just funny. You think he was just fucking with me? Because you gave him all that shit at the show. And now he's not, like now we don't even talk.

Now he's ghosting you, so. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm.

All right. All right. Buy one, get one, all foundation. I'm purging.

Where are we at here in time? We're playing this time. And this is very funny. This came out just today.

This is hilarious. La Flor Dominicana is celebrating the success of his Andalusian bull, which you cannot get, with a limited edition ashtray, which you also cannot get. The company has begun shipping the new accessory, which features a bullfighter in the center of a cigar band replicated in the center of the ashtray. The company is only making a thousand of them, so you can't get the ashtrays.

You can get the ashtrays. There's only 1,000 of them. I could get them for you. Well, I don't want them.

Well, they retail at 60 bucks. 60 bucks a piece. That's right. Available at Participated Retailer.

Yeah. Participated Retailer? No. Oh.

" They make so many better cigars than that bowl. So many better cigars. I mean, the Colorado Oscuro, number five, it's a fucking amazing cigar. I got some chisels yesterday or something.

Chisels are really good. See, they make a lot of good cigars. They do. So, you know, don't be stupid and chase the bulls, smoke all their other stuff.

All right, now back in episode 90. Oh, jeez. Back in episode 90. Here we go.

We discussed the Tobacco Business Awards. Oh, okay. We offered up our suggestions to who should be nominated for the awards. Yes.

Okay. They came out with the nominations today, Michael. And we are not on the list. Well, you were on, I guess we did say you were one of them, but we got none.

None of them we picked showed up on the list. Right. All right. Big surprise.

Should we pick our winners and see how we do? Sure, I'll tell you who's going to win. Okay. No problem.

Here we go. Get the pen. Get the pen ready. Yeah.

Okay, Dominican Cigar of the Year. Okay, who are my options? The H. Upman Hispanola by Jose Mendez.

Arturo Fuente Hemingway Untold Story. Winston Churchill The Late Hour by Davidoff Cigars. Okay. P.

P. Corillio Cigars. Christoph Vengeance, or Double Lajero Digger by La Floria Dominicana, soon to be the ashtray of the digger. This is, you know what, that's actually tough.

That's tough. What do you think is going to win, Michael? We're going to see how good you are. I'm just going to go Untold Story.

Fuente. Arturo Fuente, Hemingway, Untold Story. Yep. Alright.

Okay. Okay, now on to Nicaraguan Cigar of the Year. This is fun. I like this stuff.

This is fun. Oh, normally you don't like lists. If I can predict. Checking the time.

We're okay. We're okay. We're good. Nicaragua Cigar of the Year.

The choices are? I got a lot of social media flag about this one. Acid 20. That's going to be Sako.

Gurkha... Sako. He's not on the list. Okay.

Then it's not Sako. Don Pepin Garcia Blue. Okay. Oliva Series V Millenio.

Okay. Perdomo Jubano Bourbon Age Maduro. Okay. Alma De Fuego by Plasencia Cigars.

Oh, man. Okay, so the best cigar on that list is the Serie V. Okay. The CREV Millennial by Levi's again?

Now the question is... Who's going to win? Yeah. I'm going to stick with CREV, but...

Are you? Yeah. All right. All right.

Tell you what, I'm going to pick also, and we'll see who... Oh! Ooh! I'm going with the Don Pepin.

The Pepin Blue Label? Okay. Yes. And then back in the Dominican, I'm going to go with the Double Lajero Digger.

Okay. Good choice. Great choice for the price. I'm the Dash.

Just so we have this for later. Hopefully you have some kind of master key to indicate that. Yes. Yes.

Well, we do have it on video. We have it on video. I'm pretty sure I was the check. I'm pretty sure I was the check.

Yeah. Honduran Cigar of the Year, The Magic Toast by Alec Bradley. Okay. Iroa, The First 20 Years.

Okay. Camacho Nicaraguan Barrel Age Toro. Okay. Macanudo Inspirado Orange.

Okay. Aladino Correjo Reserva, Alma Del Fuego, Rocky Patel de Edge, Rocky Patel de la Cigars. Best cigar on that list? And it doesn't win, but I'm gonna pick it anyways.

I think we're about to pick the same one. Okay, then you go first. You wanna say it at the same time? You go first.

Aladino Correjo Reserva. Yeah. Yes, okay, we both picked that one. That's a check and a dash.

Check and a dash. Okay. Boutique Cigar of the Year. Ooh.

This is where Sokka comes in. All right, yes, he is on this list. The Dunbarton Sober Mesa Brulee. Yeah, he wins.

Well, you know what I don't even hear in the rest? Go ahead. Oh, my Lord, look at her. Yeah, he's going to win.

The, I don't know, the Tabernacle. He's already out there talking about it. The Tabernacle, the JSK Nugs, the Ricochet by La Barba Cigars. All right.

Superfly by Oscar Valladares. Okay. And the Doomsayer by Room 101 Cigars. Right.

Yeah, okay, we both picked the same one. So, now. Are we picking the same? Yeah, I'm gonna pick the Saka, because Saka will promote the fuck out of it, but, I mean, the Tabernacle's amazing.

Yeah, I didn't realize that was the second one until I read it. Is that a Havana, or the Broadleaf? Just says the Tabernacle by Foundation Cigar. Okay, so it's, so we can't even talk about which one it is.

Can't even talk about which one it is, okay. Good job, voter people. That's it. Mass Market Product of the Year.

Okay. We skipped this when we actually talked about it, but, yeah, we might skip this too, I don't know any. Okay, Mashed Market Cigar, Davidoff Mini Cigarellos. Could you imagine, they got our list, and they probably looked at our shit and they're like, Jesus Christ, go fuck, throw this shit out.

We skipped this one because we didn't understand the category. Yeah, we don't know what this is. And now I understand why we didn't understand the category. Okay, Davidoff Minis.

C. Newman Cigar Company, Black & Mild, John Middleton Company. Manitou Cigarettes, Premier Manufacturing, Swisher Sweets, and then finally Villager Export Villager Cigars of North America. Okay, no idea.

So who's going to win? Who's going to win? Mass Market Product of the Year. Factory Throwouts.

You want Factory Throwouts? I'm going with the Swisher. Well, you definitely lost. You should have went Davidoff.

Davidoff would have been a better option. I'm thinking they're maybe too expensive. Best Accessory Manufacturer of the Year. Ooh.

We skipped this one also. Okay. Boveda? Yeah.

Ooh. Colibri, Lighters, Cutters, and Humidors. Okay. Kentucky Double, Cigar Ashtray Coaster.

Ooh. I don't know what that is. Les Fine-Ass Lamas, a Cigar Knife. Oh, that's it.

Oh, those are nice. T. DuPont, Lighters, Pens, Leather Goods, and Cufflinks. Uh-huh.

Cufflinks. Zykar, Lighters and Cutters. I'm going with Boveda. They just don't offer enough.

They don't offer enough to win. You don't think so? I think they're a little expensive. Yeah, they are.

Everybody uses Bovita. That's why people check them. Everybody uses Bovita, Michael. All right.

It's the Everyman's Accessory. I agree. Tobacconist of the Year. Yes.

Yes. Cigar Hustler. No. Not even close.

Not even close. There is one that I'm surprised is on the list. Okay. Okay.

And there's the only one that I've ever been to. Okay. Anistad's Tobacco Company in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Okay.

Oh, no. That's awesome too. Boss Cigars, Carleton, Georgia, that's where they took the photos. That's where we went.

Yeah, they took the photos. I've been to both of those shops so far, okay. Oh, Lord Puffer Cigars. Haven't been there.

Where the hell's that? That's in Escondido, California. Ooh, yeah, I haven't been to Cali. Queensborough Cigar & Pipe in Queensborough, New York.

Sure Thing Cigars in Watersound, Florida, I've been there. That's the one the country western singer. Oh, that's, yeah, what's his name? Yeah.

Twin Smoke Shop and Lounge, London Berry, New Hampshire. Aha. Just because I've been there, I'm going to go with Boss Cigars, because I have been to short things also, but I wasn't thrilled with their selection, it was very... I'm going to go with Boss as well.

Oh. Kudos to Boss for making that list. Yes, very nice. What was that gentleman's name?

Perinto? There you go, that's what it was. Sorry, I was checking a sip of my bang. Delicious bang energy drink.

We just had to reorder, by the way, we got a resupply yesterday, a man came in very late, very hard-working young man, what's he, 10? He's a very young man. Tobacco Chain or Franchise of the Year? Okay.

The one we picked, moms did not make the list. Oh. We have Cigars International, the Evil Empire, as you call it. The Evil Empire.

Corona Cigar Company, the Southern Evil Empire. Old Virginia Tobacco Company. Okay. Smoke Inn.

Yeah. Smoker Friendly. Uh huh. Tender Box.

I'm going, for me. Yes. This is just my vote. Yes.

Yes. It's your vote. I'm gonna go Old Virginia. Old Virginia.

Are you familiar with Old Virginia? Yeah. I'm not at all. Old Virginia.

Well, I mean, there's a funny story that actually happened. We have seven minutes to be funny. In front of the Old Virginia people, so I'm not gonna say that. Okay.

But, I will say this. Old Virginia is the company that got the Don Bosco exclusive from Roma. Oh, that's why I've heard of them. And so, they get my vote.

Oh, very nice. Who'd you pick, Smokin'? I'm picking my friend Abe down at Smokin'. Okay.

Yeah, you love that guy. He's my buddy. We chat often. We have seven minutes.

We can finish this off. Okay. Entrepreneur of the Year. Yeah.

Alan Rubin from Alley Bradley Cigars. Dave Garofalo, Two Guys Smoke Shop. Ah. Mm.

Uh, Glenn Case, Kristoff Cigars. Okay. Matt Booth, Room 101. Yes.

Pete Johnson, Tatuaje Cigars. Okay. Robert Caldwell, Caldwell Cigar Company. Okay.

Hmm. Tough, tough one. That's a tough category here. I got two there that I like.

Mm. Me too. Okay. Who are you gonna pick?

Mm. So, so tough. Um. Mm.

I'm gonna go with Mr. Caldwell. You know what? Me too.

Are you? I fucking like that guy. I like him too. It was between him and Matt Booth.

Yeah, me too. Yeah. But yeah, I like Caldwell. He's a good dude.

I'm not a big fan of Pete. I have met Glenn. Glenn is very nice. We comment back and forth on social media sometimes.

He's a nice guy. The hugger? Dave Garofalo? Nope.

Never remembers you. You don't like him? He never remembers you. Oh, wait a second.

Oh. No. You're mixing him up. Oh, it's not the same guy?

David Lafferty. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry, Mr. Garofalo.

Goddammit, Mike. Jesus. Garofalo is... That's Cigar Authority, yeah.

Oh, the one I'm going to go into, I should pick that one. Never mind. No, they're doing fine without you. Think how well they would do with me.

That's true. All right, we're going to... We got two more categories. We got five minutes.

Okay, come on. I believe in you. Woman of the Year. I only know one of these ladies.

Indiana Ortiz. Okay. From... I can't even say the name of that company.

Janine Perdomo from Perdomo Cigars. Karen Berger at Don Kiki. Lana Frazier, Davidoff of Geneva. Maya Selva.

Oh, I know who she is. Nurka Reyes, Dolos Reyes. Okay. Pick one.

I'm going Karen Berger. You are going Miss Karen. Yeah, and here's why. Yes.

Any person that gives up their kidney for their loved one deserves to win. She gave a kidney to her husband? Yeah. Before he died?

Yeah. Hmm. So. I will go with the, you know what?

I'm just going to be controversial. I'm going to go with. Surprise, surprise. With Janine Perdomo.

Oh, that's extremely controversial. Okay. And then finally, the Legacy Award. We chose Mr.

Skip Martin. Yeah. He's not on the list. Not on the list.

Not on the list. See, none of this is accurate. But I do have another friend on the list, though, so. Okay.

All right. You don't have any friends but me. Oh, yes, I do. Just me.

I have tons of industry friends. I don't believe you. , is that the one that's been on the show? I think so.

Or is he the third? I have no idea. With this group he's in, I'm thinking it's his father. Okay.

Yes. Manuel Quesada from Quesada Cigars. Okay. And Heinrich Billinger from Villager Cigars.

Heinrich. Hello, my name is Heinrich. Nice. I'm going to get into some German stuff there.

You stopped it there, huh? I'm going to stop. I don't know who he is, so I don't want to insult the man. All right.

I'm going to go with my friend Carlos Carlito Fuente. Me too. All right. If we pick the winners, we have to call them and congratulate them on the air.

We're not calling any of these people. All right. That is the end of the list. There you go.

We made it. We made it. We made it up against the break. Okay, we're going to take another break.

I don't know if the camera went over or not. We're going to take another break, and then I have... Oh, good. Do you have anything else?

No. Oh, I have one more thing, and we have a listener of the week, and then we'll get out, so we'll be sure when we come back. All right, let's do this. All right, bye.

Or, we'll be right back. Looking for show swag? com, a Cigar Hustlers podcast. You can find t-shirts, cup holders, beach towels, anything you need to be involved in the show.

Okay. Carlito Fuente. Yes, Mr. Carlito Fuente.

We have started, as our show is growing, Michael, we now are trying to get on other shows as guest spots. Ah, yes. Yes, so we have applied to several. We had one offer, but we have to go to Los Angeles.

So we're not going to make it? I said we're not going to make it. But we did get a rejection. What the hell are you doing over there?

It's the Carlito Fuentes song. Oh, where he played? He doesn't play Bongo. No, this is by Arturo Sandoval.

Alright, you know what? I was told one time I'm not allowed to do that kind of song. And here I am plugged in. Hey, here you are all plugged in.

I like it. Can you put in sound effects where I tell you to do it when I point at you and you do like a boing? I feel like I just stumped you. Yeah, I'm sure we could.

You did, I was not expecting. Okay, can we get back on business to Michael? Michael, Michael, Michael. Yes.

Don't force me to turn you off. He's looking at the plug. I'm looking at the board. I can turn you off.

Can we just hear that yay, yay, yay, yay part? All right. Come on. Are you coming up soon?

It's right here. Okay. All right. All right.

Yay, yay, yay, yay. You want to do it? This is from Matt Hunt. Matt Hunt gave me this.

Oh, of course he did. Oh, there you go. Hey, that's for you. That's for you, Mr.

Hunt. There you go. Since I was plugged in. Okay, I'm just gonna read the...

I like that you're disheveled now. You did, you threw me off, and now I don't know what to do. I feel good about it. All right.

Okay, here, I'm just gonna read the rejection, all right? Hi, Mike. I've been speaking with Belinda about your response to these questions, And she isn't sure that cigars or smoking really aligns with what she's trying to build with the work from your happy place. I believe that is the name of the show, work from your happy place.

Yeah. Thank you so much for reaching out and best of luck to you in the future. I'm so glad you brought this up. From her, from her executive administrative assistant.

She has an assistant. Yeah. I feel that would be my title if I emailed somebody about it. Executive administrative, but you should have to say executive administrative slapdick.

com, maybe she is a PR person or something, I don't know, a lot of shows seem to have PR people. So apparently, I'm not living my best life, because I'm in the tobacco industry. No, no, no, this isn't, the living your best life, this is work from your happy place. Oh, apparently I'm not working from my happy, see it's easy, I can just plug that in, apparently I'm not working from my happy place, because I smoke and sell cigars.

Yes, cigars or smoking. Because we are affiliated with the devil. Congratulations. The devil grows tobacco, apparently.

The devil grows tobacco. Well, if you ask Nick Malillo, apparently Spaniards back in, you know, the 1800s would grow their own tobacco and roll them in those, you know, you were very prestigious. Yes, and they had castles and, you know. So that, you know, working from your happy place, if you were working, if your house was your happy place, And you were like some crazy, fuckin' powerful Spaniard, apparently you weren't happy either.

Maybe, you know, allegedly they don't like Spanish people. Allegedly. I like how you slid that in. I'm not getting sued.

What are they gonna get? What are you gonna get? My laptop, Michael! My laptop!

It's not ours, it's property of Romacraft Tobac, so there you go. " Listen, I have it on record that it's not yours, that way when they sue you, you don't get to keep it. You get to keep it. Oh, oh, that's right.

Sorry. I don't know. I don't get it. I don't get it.

Okay. We don't have a show update because no new company, no new factories? No new countries. There we go.

Whew. You're failing me. I know. Well, we shot a show Monday and then another one on Friday.

Well, you want to have video, you want to, you know, the best video possibility. Yes. We gotta do this on, you know. I think this is, this angle.

We gotta do a day earlier. I feel so close now to that. Earl's very close. Do you?

Yeah. There seems to be more equipment blocking our faces though. Well, we do have a lot of equipment. I'll have to fix that.

You might have to move your microphone this way. Alright, maybe next time. Okay, listener of the week. Should I say the name first or hit the gun?

I don't know, this is your show, I'm just living here. Listener of the week is Mr. Danny Vasquez. Oh my.

Listener of the week, Danny. We appreciate Danny listening every week and making all his co-workers listen with him. He plays it very loud. We almost had a mutiny on our hands at the Romograph Tobacco office.

Well, I would just have to cut you off the show and do one myself. It's the price you pay. It's the price you pay for fame, Michael. Wow.

Everybody listens to every word you say now. Oh, you're really quick to just cut me out, huh? You know, gotta do what I gotta do, Michael. Gotta keep the show rolling.

It's good to know. Keep the show rolling. It's good to know. I'm gonna Snapchat you off the balcony.

I couldn't do the show without you, Michael. Oh, you're so sweet. Oh, we had two listeners' questions, but I forgot to put those. Oh, do you have them?

Uh, they're on my phone, unfortunately. And where's your phone? It's running the camera. Oh.

Uh, if you go, wait, um, no, I don't think you would see. Is it on the podcast? No, no, it was on the Instagram, but I don't know how that shows up. Oh, yeah.

But one of them, one of them was from, uh, from, uh, Yogi, Mr. Jean. All right, so what's the question? What's your, what's your question?

Uh, they were questions, they were questions directed at me. He wanted to know if Daddy had big muscles. Oh, yeah? So does Daddy have big muscles?

Oh, yes, Michael, Daddy has big muscles. Good for you. Yes. Good for you.

The other question was from Vcut Everything. Okay. He wanted to know how I put up with the constant barrage and undermining that you give me during the show. Really?

Yes. Wow, super aggressive, Vcut. Apparently so. I just have to deal.

I don't know, you know, just do what I have to do to get through the day. Well, I love you. Just want you to know I love you. Thank you.

The shows are going through an hour now. I appreciate you. Oh, well, thank you, Michael. It was very nice of you.

And I don't want you to think that I am intentionally mean to you. It's because I care. Oh. You're so smart.

And because I care, I just want you to be, you know, your best, that's all. Oh, thank you. So. Thank you.

My wife was quite jealous of my AirPods. That was brought up in an offhanded conversation the other day. Uh-oh. " She painted once.

She painted that wall. She painted this room. Well, actually, this wall and that wall. No, not that wall.

She just painted. Look, you can clearly see it. Oh, that's right. That's right.

She did this wall and that wall. That is not AirPod material. We need the full room. Move this room three times.

Yeah, exactly. That would be it. All right. This has been episode 94 of Cigar Housewives.

Yeah, six away. That board works so well now. Thank Christ, because... That's right.

Because I might just say it's episode two of Cigar Housewives podcast. Here we are. It's because I'm working with Father Time as my co-host, apparently. That's right.

My mind is going quickly. As Matt Hunt called you. Father Time in the back. Father Time.

Everybody got a kick out of that on the post. That was funny. Yeah. Funny.

All right. So, let's wrap this up and get out of here. All right. All right, guys.

Thanks for listening. Pay attention to the commercials. I know I'm saying them again at the end. They're great.

They're great commercials. They're great commercials. Shot live every week. Every week.

Every week, a new commercial. I think I'd just save them. Nah, it's easy to save them. They're only 10 seconds.

We're promoting a couple things. We could start throwing in specials here at the shop if you want. Yeah. No.

Come on, we owe the shops some money. It's not about that. No, but we have to shop some money and we can work it off. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.

I'm just going to let it keep going to an hour. Owler Smoke Shop, Lenny approved. It's official. You got anything else to say?

It's kind of a thing. Um, no. You were writing all sorts of things down? Yeah, I was fully prepared for Danny.

Oh, alright. We would like to also, one more time, thank Danny for being on the show today via phone. Because I thought for sure that Danny was, you know, I don't know. It seemed like he was out for blood.

I thought he was gonna be a little more aggressive. But, you know, maybe because a day had gone by and he settled, and then I gave him the Red Bull. Ah. The Red Bull, I think, really.

So, wait, what else, so you sent him two giant 20-ounce Red Bulls? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then you sent John D. Oliver protein?

Yeah, well, 'cause the argument is, can you establish relationships, you know, remotely? Well, I was just wondering what you sent him. So, yeah, so I believe that, you know, like, I believe in showing appreciation, believe it or not, a lot. And I do my best to do that.

Did you send anything to my friend Sean? No. Oh. You want to know why?

Why? I can tell you why. Why? Because Sean and I are fucking good.

Sean is like... Well, probably until you said Danny and John something, didn't say him anything. No, no, no, without question. I just want...

There have been plenty of times... I'll take care of your brother. As a matter of fact... I'm taking some new gloves or something.

As a matter of fact, Sean got a little care package from me not too long ago with the Postanya shirt. Oh. Before everybody else. Oh.

Well, see, I didn't know you dirty. So there you go. So I fuck with Sean the long way, brother. Oh.

That was very nice. Last week he put up a post about he was thinning out his people. He didn't know half the people on his friend list, so I explained who I was so I didn't get cut off. " He's like, "Oh, well, okay, thank you very much.

" Shawn is next level. Thank you. He is. Black gloves and everything.

Smoking like a pro. No DNA on the cigars that go out of that building. Never happened. Never happened at all.

They were never there. That's it. Lightweight, heavy, baby. Oh, now they're yelling out there.

Alright, thank you everybody, bye. Bye. This has been a Cigar Hustlers Podcast, a Mike and Mike production. Be sure to listen every Tuesday at 10am for all new episodes.

I am doing, I'm Hoostoe-Raw. Yeah, we just don't have to do a single podcast ever again. Perfect. I'm good, Mike and Mike.

How are you guys doing? I don't even have to try to hit the record. He's not even going to try. We're going to cover a lot of ground here, Mike.

All right. Try to keep up. That's a sign of a good podcast. It'd be like four cigars when I walked in a door.

All right, end this.
