Deadwood Tobacco Co. by Drew Estate takes its name from Deadwood, South Dakota — the Black Hills gold-rush boomtown whose cigar bar, run by early Drew Estate retailer Vaughn Boyd, gave rise to the legends of the line's "Vixens." Dominicana is the newest Deadwood girl, unveiled at the 2025 PCA Trade Show in New Orleans and shipped that April, and she is the one with a Dominican heart — Drew Estate put the spotlight on Dominican leaf grown by Jose Mendez & Co. Where her sisters run dark and bold, Dominicana is the lighter, more refined chapter of the Deadwood story. Box count: 10 cigars.
Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed shade wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder and Dominican long-fillers from grower Jose Mendez & Co. SRL. Finished with Deadwood's signature sweetened cap and conditioned in the manner of aromatic pipe tobacco. Handcrafted at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Nicaragua. Robusto format. Box count: 10 cigars.
The sweetened cap lands first, then the blend settles into a sophisticated, refined core of sweet figs, hay, salt, butter and earth. Reviewers of the Robusto describe it as smooth, sweet and creamy from the opening third, with cedar and mixed nuts underneath and a light pepper note on the retrohale. Mellow to medium in body throughout.
