Powstanie was founded by brothers Mike and Gregg Szczepankiewicz after major retailers began suppressing manufacturer inventory access to independent shops. Powstanie is Polish for 'uprising' — a name chosen to reflect the brand's mission of putting independent retailers first. The cigars are produced at Nica Sueño in Estelí, Nicaragua.

The Powstanie Habano Belicoso features a rich Habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan core, measuring 6 inches with a 52 ring gauge. The tapered belicoso head concentrates the draw for an intensified, complex smoking experience. Box count: 21 cigars.
